I've been doing a lot more with AI lately. It's something I've been really slow to adopt because anytime there's a rush to do anything, I tend to pause, consider, see how things go, and then find my own way and my own take on how to use, utilize that thing. And AI has been something that's so buzzwordy and so hot in the space that I. I've just been slower to really embrace it. And I think that's a good thing in some regards, and it's probably also a bad thing in some regards. So the reason I've been playing with it more lately is because my best creation time is in the morning. But in the morning, I am on the morning shift watching our daughter. And so later in the day when I have chunks of uninterrupted time to actually get some work done, I typically don't have my best thinking or creative mind. So what I started doing because I was frustrated that I wasn't making the most out of even that time, is I started just talking to ChatGPT like it was a team member and saying, here's what I'm thinking, here's what I'm trying to do. Does this make sense? You know, I was talking to them almost like a, like a strategic partner, like a researcher. And it really helped me crystallize, think through and follow some logic around plans, strategies, things that I want to prioritize. And in doing all of this, collaborating with ChatGPT as a discussion partner, and if you're wondering, I'm using the O1 model for the most part. After doing all of this thinking and prioritizing, what I realized is it is such a great potential teacher because it's infinitely patient, it has no judgment whatsoever, and it really meets you where you are. And it got me thinking about the future of educational experiences. The way we teach things now is we kind of understand where, where most students come into a process where most students struggle and curriculum is built almost like a best fit line of how do I get the best outcome for the most possible students? By explaining it in the most accessible way. But what the experience of AI when you're learning is, is it will meet you where you are without judgment, be infinitely patient, and help you get to the outcome that you desire in a really pleasing way. So I think about this, and I think in the future, a lot of education will be personalized and driven by AI experiences. I don't think the way we interact or interface with AI right now is ready for the masses. I think it takes some education that the tool exists, how to use the tool and then how to actually, you know, create the prompts that get the outcomes that you want. So there's, there's a pretty steep learning curve and it's not the way most people are going to learn in the absolute near term. But if we're talking three years from now, five years from now. Information has always wanted to be free. The Internet made it more free. YouTube has made it more free. I think AI is going to make information education even more accessible and personalized to the individual. So I'm thinking about my business and what that means for me. As somebody who is in the information and transformation business. I am less interested in prioritizing new courses, as in like self paced standalone courses, because I do think that whether I'm creating the interface with AI or whether someone else does learning will be very, very cheap, if not free and AI driven. What I am prioritizing is more human to human interactions and experiences. So this year I am putting more emphasis on the lab than ever before. I'm looking at how do I make the peer to peer experiences within the lab better than ever. And you know, how do I enable small groups both online and offline? How do I make teaching a collaborative experience? My dog is sitting next to me cleaning himself. Sorry if that came through. It's gross. How can I make learning collaborative and interesting in a group dynamic? And I just think community memberships, human experiences are going to be more important than ever. And I think we'll see kind of a rebound of cohort based learning as well. Because even if information is free, there's still the experience of collaborating with other people, learning with them, accountability. We learn well together, always have. And I think we'll see a rebound in cohort based programs. So one of the experiments I think I'll probably run this year is running a live cohort around one of my existing course curriculums. Probably build a beloved membership which teaches you how to build a membership. I think I'll do a live cohort around that. Folks in the lab will get access to that for free. But if you're not in the lab, I'll sell access to that course externally and we'll see how that goes. I think that's an interesting way to leverage the curriculum and course materials you already have is to say, what if we built a live program around this? Maybe did kind of a flipped classroom model where you go through the curriculum at your own pace. And the live sessions are about questions, deepening the learning, accountability group experiences, things like that so I'm going to experiment with that. If you are in this world of educating, selling information and you want to move towards memberships, I really encourage you to think about joining the lab because not only do you get access to the course material, not only do you get access to the community and me, but it's a double dip because you see how we're going about building community. So it's a great time to join. We have our town hall coming up next month where we talk about the future of the community. We have our first two day in person event in June. It's a great time to be here so consider it no pressure or expectation either way I would think about the future of your business and how you can further leverage human to human interaction in a future that may be more AI driven. Hope you enjoyed this, hope you have a great weekend, Hope you're having a great start to the year. I'll talk to you on Tuesday.
