Hey, it's been a minute since I recorded a voice memo and wanted to update you. Slash, run a thought by you and get your reaction because you are a listener of this podcast. So historically we have released an episode every Tuesday. That's been what I've been doing since the beginning in March of 2020. Over time, we started producing video episodes that we released on YouTube and now we can release video episodes in Spotify. But we put a lot of post production effort into video episodes and it's been difficult to maintain that level of effort and care in the post production of the video episodes while also meeting a weekly publishing deadline. So right now I feel confident we can release two video episodes per month on YouTube and also in Spotify. I think we might be able to get to three in short order as well. But that's not every week. That would mean that there would be a gap on the audio feed here. And historically I've been unwilling to have a gap of publishing on the podcast feed because we had obligations. We had sponsorship obligations. I was on a podcast network at one point, so we had obligations to them. But today I don't actually have those obligations. I've stopped taking sponsorship on the show and instead focused on promoting creator HQ or the Lab, one of my products. Something that I built myself believe in know to work, but I don't have to meet some number of downloads or impressions for those ad units. Recently I have noticed that I am getting significantly more plays on Spotify. When I publish a video episode. We're talking like 5-10x the number of streams for video episodes versus audio for my show. And it makes me really want to publish more video episodes. The hard thing is it's just not every week and it's a moving target Sometimes. Sometimes I think a video is about ready. We do a couple more revisions. It takes two more days, you know, so it's been hard to be consistent with schedule in video, but I'm wondering if that even matters. I'm thinking that actually the effort that I'm putting into publishing art audio only episodes to maintain a weekly cadence is counter to being able to produce more video episodes. Because when I realize that we don't have a video episode ready, I will often record a longer solo episode. But now I also want to record those in video. So what I'm thinking, I want to test and do unless I get significant pushback. So feel free to let me know. I'm thinking I'm going to release fewer podcast episodes and every episode I release will have a video component for Spotify. It will be on YouTube as well. If you just like listening audio only, that's also totally fine. There will just be fewer episodes and we'll have a direct one to one relationship between episodes released and video for those episodes. The small caveat, or I guess nuance here is that I need to get back to or I want to get back to doing more of these voice memo short style episodes. So perhaps what I will do in between the video episodes is share a personal shorter reflection like this of an undetermined length at an undetermined time in between whenever I feel like I have something worthy of sharing with you. So that's my my thought. I think that will actually allow me to focus more of my time on producing video episodes. It'll allow me to focus more of my time on the book project as well and reduce some of the anxiety I feel of keeping a schedule simply because I've kept the schedule in the past. We'd love to hear what you think about this. You can email me j creatorscience.com you can tag me at J Klaus on any platform or if you're on Spotify, leave a comment. Give me your blessing. Give me your pushback. Let me know what you think. It already provides some relief and feels exciting to me. I think we can get to three video episodes per month in short order and that's an exciting future. I like that. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
