So it's officially May. You know exactly what that means. Mosaic. Did you see that? It's back. It's put on every year by the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County. And right now I do have Warren Perry, the associate vice president, here to share all the fun and art and events that are going on right here in our backyard this summer. Thank you so much for joining the show.
B
Oh, thanks for having me on.
A
Always a pleasure to really talk about this because there's so much going on in our backyard that people don't really know about, and this is kind of bringing it to the forefront. So for those who don't really know about Mosaic or what Mosaic is, can you kind of give us a little breakdown of it?
B
I sure can. Mosaic stands for month of shows, art, ideas, and culture. See how we did that? Mosaic. We do this celebration every year during the month of May in Palm Beach County. And basically, the Cultural Council partners with over 30 local cultural attractions to offer a number of discounts and special experiences just during the month of May.
A
And it's really awesome, like I was saying before, because it really does highlight the local businesses and organizations that you may have maybe not known about about that right there waiting for you. You can also find a new passion or maybe check out that place you've been eyeing. This is like the perfect time to do that.
B
Absolutely. We want our local residents in Palm beach county to come and explore, and everything is on that dealer discount, like I was saying. So maybe there's a museum you've never been to. You know, and there's a number of museums that are offering buy one, get one admission right now. Maybe there's a show you'd like to see at the Kravis center or go down to Delray beach to the Arts gar and check them out for the first time. You can save 20% on tickets. You know, if you've got family, there's lots of great deals for family friendly activities. You can visit the zoo. You can go to Cox Science Center. You can climb the lighthouse, the Jupiter Lighthouse. So there's lots of opportunities and like I said, just great deals, especially if you have a large group of people that you want to go with.
A
Right. I was just about to ask that question, but you kind of already answered it. Like, I remember the Palm Beach Zoo and Murakami, they had buy one, get one free tickets and 50% off. These are really deep discounts that, you know, allow you to go multiple times or even, you know, bring more people with you.
B
Yeah, exactly. You know, so Go explore a garden. Like you said, the Murakami Museum and Japanese gardens. It's beautiful. It's like stepping into Japan without leaving the country. Or maybe you can go to Mount Botanical Garden, which is also a hidden gem in West Palm Beach. You know, go take a stroll, enjoy some peace, look at the beautiful flowering plants, and learn about what grows here in Florida. So there's lots of opportunities to get some friends together and go do something fun.
A
Right. And you have over 30 cultural organizations participating in Mosaic.
B
Yeah, we sure do. I think we have 36 offers. Wow. So if you go to the website, you can find something to do literally every single day during the month of May.
A
You can just be out and doing something with your family.
B
Yeah. And it is family friendly, you know, but of course, also, there's lots of things for, you know, girls night out or maybe a romantic date. There's. There's lots of things for lots of people. Exactly.
A
What about live performances? Are you doing that again this year?
B
Mm. The Kravitz center has some ticket deals for shows. There's also a discount to get tickets for Beetlejuice, which is coming back, the Broadway show. And then I mentioned Arts Garage earlier. They're offering 20% off select performances. They're in Delray Beach.
A
That is amazing. Do you have anything else new this year?
B
We do have new partners this year. One of those is Ballet Palm Beach. They're putting on a performance of Giselle on May 16th at the Kravitz center, and there's a 20% off ticket deal. You can also go see a documentary film if you are a birder. We've partnered with Audubon Everglades, and they're offering a Bogo ticket deal to watch a documentary being shown at the Lake Worth Playhouse.
A
And I really love what you're doing here, because, like I said, you were highlighting all our local businesses, and you're really showing not only just to us, but you're also in New York right now to highlight all the amazing things that we have going on in Palm
B
beach county that we do. We. I come up to New York once or twice a year on behalf of the Cultural Council to help spread the word about all of the amazing things that we have to do in Palm Beach County. We call ourselves Florida's cultural capital for a reason. And I'm up here in New York right now actually talking to all the folks up here to help us spread the word about Mosaic as well.
A
This is so amazing, Lauren. All these great things for the summer and the month of May. Where can people go to find these details and, you know, start planning their trip?
B
It's super easy. All they have to do is go to our website, mosaic PBC. Like palm beachcounty.com so that's M O S A, I, C P B, c dot com.
