Bretman Rock
The following podcast is a Dear Media production. Yes, yes, yes, yes. You are already late because we're already taking attendance. Today is period five for science, Science, science. I remember in period one where I was like, princess, you get to pick the next period. And we didn't even do science the next period. But today we are dressed in purple for science. And. Yeah, actually, I wanted to discuss the color, actually, real quick. When you came to America, Princess, I don't know if this is just a Bremen rock extravaganza story. Like, I feel like I do think I'm an original person, and I'm the only one that experienced original experiences sometimes. But I remember when I first moved to America, and I was drawing the rainbow. Maybe it wasn't even a rainbow, but I was looking for the color violet. And I was asking kids around me, I'm like, do you have violet? Violet? And they're like, you mean purple? Like, purple. And I'm like, no, violet. And I was so confused what purple was for so. Well, not for so long. I feel like I accepted that it was purple, but I remembered when I came to America, I was like, it's violet. Why is everyone calling it purple? Who's purple? Did you have that?
Sarah Tiana
No, but I thought violet was a different color because violet is, like, purple blue. Like yours.
Bretman Rock
No. I was working on something the other day, and if you look at the purple mark marker, it says violet, and then in parentheses, it's purple. Oh, you're thinking about indigo.
Sarah Tiana
Oh, indigo.
Bretman Rock
Indigo is probably, like, the deeper blue.
Sarah Tiana
Like what you're wearing right now. Because we're not, like, wearing the same thing.
Bretman Rock
I think we're both. I think I'm wearing violet. You're wearing purple. In my head.
Sarah Tiana
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Bretman Rock
Yeah. I feel like purple is a lighter violet, and violet is like a darker violet. A darker purple. I don't know. Can you guys tell me down below if I'm the only one that had a struggle with violets and purpl purples? Cat, you were about to say something. Hit me.
Kat
I thought it was the other way around. I thought violet was, like, the lightest. Oh, I thought about violet, purple, indigo.
Bretman Rock
Because when I think of violet, I think of ultraviolet.
Kat
Really?
Bretman Rock
And every time ultraviolet is depicted in my head, I don't know if I'm right, but it's always, like, dark. But maybe you are right, because I also looked up violet, like, meaning in Tagalog, and it's Lila. And obviously that's what we called my grandmother, but Lila is More of, like, lavender colors. That is lighter. So I don't know. But I was just saying when I first moved to America, I was like, why everybody calling it purple? It's violet, princess. The subject is science. Why is science your favorite subject?
Sarah Tiana
Science is not my favorite subject.
Bretman Rock
I mean, I said that, but, like, I said. Oh, is that just what you wanted?
Sarah Tiana
Yeah, I wanted to do next, so, like, you know, get the hard one out for me. But here we are.
Bretman Rock
Why is science hard for you? Why is it.
Sarah Tiana
I don't know. I just. I just feel like I always had a problem. I'm. I always had such a problem, like, focusing on science and, like, what. How everything is just didn't make any sense to me, period.
Bretman Rock
Like, are you talking about. Because to me, the most confusing thing about science is when it comes to elements. Like, I'm always like, what? Like, you know, the whole periodical table.
Sarah Tiana
Yes.
Bretman Rock
Like, I'm like, girl. And like, the whole elements versus compound. And. Yeah, like, so much matter that. Yeah, laws, all of that.
Sarah Tiana
I was like, what?
Bretman Rock
Yeah, I forgot to queue in the intro.
Sarah Tiana
You did.
Bretman Rock
I did.
Sarah Tiana
You didn't.
Bretman Rock
Oh, period. Well, cue the intro. Bratman to Earth. Earth to Bratman. Girl, you already know who it is.
Rachel Veneta
Hi, we're the Sports Bitches. And no, we're not actual bitches.
Bretman Rock
Yes, we are.
Sarah Tiana
Like, I'm for sure a bitch.
Rachel Veneta
Okay, fine, we are, but that doesn't define us.
Sarah Tiana
Yeah, we also love sports.
Bretman Rock
We don't just love sports. We, like, love sports.
Rachel Veneta
Yeah, we're like sports sickos.
Kat
Sports addicted.
Bretman Rock
Get these sports into my veins. You could call us Couple of Sports Perverts.
Rachel Veneta
Which was the other name for our podcast.
Sarah Tiana
Speak for yourself.
Rachel Veneta
I'm Rachel Veneta.
Sarah Tiana
I'm Sarah Tiana.
Bretman Rock
I'm Megan Gailey.
Rachel Veneta
And we are the Sports Bitches. Listen to new episodes of the show every Wednesday. Stay wherever you get your podcasts.
Bretman Rock
And we're back. That has got to be one of our longest intro yet. But wait, Princess, before we begin, what are you drinking?
Sarah Tiana
Oh, okay, so I got the mango pineapple refresher, two coconut shots and two almond shots, and my. My base is oat milk.
Bretman Rock
Oh, period. Mine is a humble little strawberry dragon fruit with mango pineapple. The base is water, but I will say I wish I got the tea as a base because I feel like it would be so good because I already like the mango one with it. She's good.
Sarah Tiana
Yours does taste good.
Bretman Rock
Wait, I want to taste yours. I would drink from her straw, but it's full of lip gloss. And I don't want that. Okay.
Sarah Tiana
Speaking of lip gloss, do you remember making that dance with the song lip gloss?
Bretman Rock
Oh, my God. Princess and I were like those kids that would literally force our. Kidnap our family and force them to watch a performance.
Kat
Yes.
Bretman Rock
And I choreographed lip gloss by lil mama, and we ate it up.
Sarah Tiana
Girl, he be yelling at me.
Bretman Rock
It started with me with the newspaper mak Mac Lauriac. Yup.
Sarah Tiana
He was like, hurry up. Get in the line, girl.
Bretman Rock
Oh, my gosh. I wish we had videos back then. But we were too broke to even have camera footage.
Sarah Tiana
We didn't have, like, nothing but.
Bretman Rock
Anyways, let's get back to our science questions. Science is very confusing. There's a lot of different sciences.
Sarah Tiana
So much.
Bretman Rock
What is your favorite type of science? I love earth science. I love the study of earth. I love knowing.
Sarah Tiana
Oh, yeah. Okay. Oh, yeah. Earth science is probably one of my favorite. I think that's the only science that I actually remember, period.
Bretman Rock
Kat, you seem to be nodding your head here. What other sciences are there?
Kat
Oh, well, I feel like we should get the definition of science out of the way.
Bretman Rock
Okay, let's define science.
Kat
Right. So science definition is the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation.
Bretman Rock
Okay.
Kat
Looking at these. Looking up these questions, I was, like, realizing things. I was like, oh, like, science is a lot more than just, like, the chemicals and.
Bretman Rock
Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's different types of science. There's different types of scientists. There's outward. Like, there's kids. I remember this one kid in my third and fourth, fifth grade classes. He followed me. Not followed me, but we were in the same classes. And he was obsessed with planets. That was the type of science he was obsessed with, was like, outer space science, if that's even a science. But yeah. Do you have a favorite type of science, Cat?
Kat
I like the body.
Bretman Rock
Oh, body.
Kat
I think it's really interesting about physical.
Bretman Rock
Is that physical science?
Sarah Tiana
Like the body of the Earth?
Kat
Like your. Your body? Like anatomy.
Bretman Rock
Oh, anatomy.
Kat
Yeah.
Bretman Rock
Period. Girl, I feel like I'm so glad we are doing this.
Sarah Tiana
That's a body of the Earth.
Bretman Rock
I'm just realizing how dumb and stupid stupid I am. Like, I was watching our math episode, and obviously, I. Girl, there's no denying that I won that. But, like, I was looking back, and I was like, damn, I really did not know as much as I thought I did.
Sarah Tiana
Yeah.
Bretman Rock
And I love that. Like, I was kind of reclaiming what I did. Thought I knew. But also, just to segue real quick, some of y' all are getting real comfortable calling us dumb, uneducated, stupid. And all I gotta say is you watching. So you watching every week, though, like, what? And nobody said we were geniuses. There's literally. I have not said that in my life. I may have inclined to it, but I've never actually said I was a motherfucking genius. Okay, so y' all getting too comfortable calling us names like, oh, I feel like 2020 me would have clapped back, but I' ma just keep it cute and say you're watching.
Sarah Tiana
Hello, period.
Bretman Rock
So, like always. And like the math, because that was such a good structure. Cat googled or maybe chat GPT questions from first grade, second, third, fourth, fifth, fifth, sixth. And then seventh would be our tiebreaker if we needed to grade level questions. And yeah, I personally don't think I could answer high school level question sign stuff honestly. But we're just gonna keep it cute. And I feel like we'll do first one to raise their hand.
Sarah Tiana
Okay.
Bretman Rock
And we also have a special guest in the audience today. If you hear some lip smacking, it is Clay. You wanna say hi? You want to shake your hand like this One more.
Sarah Tiana
Come close a bit more.
Bretman Rock
Just show your hand if you don't want to. Hi. She's over today. We just. Well, Kat just picked her up. Princess just picked her up and she. We had her today because tomorrow is my birthday and we need Cleo there for my karaoke extravaganza. Cleo, what are you learning in school about science? Right now?
Sarah Tiana
Watering.
Bretman Rock
Ooh, watering plants. Photosynthesis. Do you know what photosynthesis mean?
Sarah Tiana
No.
Bretman Rock
Okay. Period. Well, you're about to find out today. Hopefully that's in Auntie. Cats problems. Okay. All right, Caddy, y' all ready? Hit us.
Kat
Okay, so for the first grade level.
Sarah Tiana
I feel like I'm not gonna get any of them. I'm like. I really. I'm having so much anxiety right now.
Kat
This one, there's technically four answers, but I'll take two. Okay, ready? So what do animals need to survive? Bretman was first.
Bretman Rock
Oh, do you want to go? I feel like I'll give you the. The. You go first.
Kat
Try to do all four, though. But if you think you only get two, it's okay.
Sarah Tiana
What do animals need to survive?
Kat
Yeah.
Sarah Tiana
Is there, like. Do I need to say, like, the science.
Kat
It's just like, what they need. Like, what do animals need to survive?
Sarah Tiana
Okay. They need air.
Kat
Okay.
Bretman Rock
Oxygen.
Sarah Tiana
Oxygen.
Kat
Okay.
Sarah Tiana
And then, I mean, food. Avi.
Bretman Rock
Right, Right.
Sarah Tiana
That's it.
Kat
Okay.
Sarah Tiana
That's my two.
Kat
That's a good two. Right. Do you know the other two?
Bretman Rock
I would do habitat like a home and water.
Sarah Tiana
Yep.
Kat
That's great.
Bretman Rock
Period. Okay.
Kat
Is it one one?
Bretman Rock
Okay. No, I'll give that to Princess because I feel like I don't need the.
Kat
Okay.
Bretman Rock
I don't need the petty points.
Sarah Tiana
Wow.
Bretman Rock
I'm very confident.
Kat
Okay already. So the second grade. What are three states of matter?
Sarah Tiana
Three states of matter.
Bretman Rock
Bretman, you were raising your hand, though. I would love to see you answer this. Okay. Solid liquid gas.
Sarah Tiana
Correct. Period.
Bretman Rock
Right, Right.
Kat
One, one. Okay. What are the different states of the. The different seasons? Sorry, what are the different seasons, Princess?
Sarah Tiana
The different seasons of the weather. Yeah, seasons. Oh, there's seasons like summer, right?
Kat
Yeah, like that.
Sarah Tiana
Summer.
Bretman Rock
Girl, you cannot be like summer. Right. You cannot.
Kat
Okay.
Sarah Tiana
Okay, so there's. There's. There's spring, fall, summer, winter. You said five, four. Oh, I got four then. Yeah.
Bretman Rock
Period. Where in those does autumn fall?
Sarah Tiana
That has to be fall, right?
Bretman Rock
Period. Good job.
Sarah Tiana
Yay.
Kat
Okay, what is the sun? What is the sun?
Sarah Tiana
What is the sun?
Bretman Rock
A star.
Kat
What does it do?
Bretman Rock
What does it do?
Kat
Yeah, like, what does it. What does the sun provide?
Bretman Rock
Oh, it. It's the center of our universe. No, it's the center.
Sarah Tiana
Yeah, she said, what does it do?
Bretman Rock
And it gives us, like, light and he. And.
Kat
Yeah, you answer that Right.
Bretman Rock
Oh, okay. What is the sun? Well, she's a star. She's not.
Sarah Tiana
A planet is a star.
Kat
What is the name of the galaxy that we live in, Princess? The galaxy that we live in.
Sarah Tiana
I feel like an idiot.
Bretman Rock
Go.
Sarah Tiana
Is it called Universe?
Bretman Rock
Wait, wait, that's not. That's not. Where is our universe?
Sarah Tiana
Oh, the galaxy.
Bretman Rock
That's your answer, Princess?
Kat
Yeah. I feel like it's Brett's turn.
Bretman Rock
It's the Milky Way, cat.
Kat
You got it.
Sarah Tiana
Did I just say the universe?
Kat
Yes.
Sarah Tiana
Oh, my gosh.
Kat
Okay, you ready, princess?
Bretman Rock
You're getting an anxiety over a game that's never gonna matter in tomorrow.
Sarah Tiana
Well, people are gonna be like, that bitch is deaf.
Bretman Rock
People gonna say everything. Bitch. Trust me, these bitches got nothing better to do. Except you, bestie. You're cute.
Kat
Okay, already the besties.
Bretman Rock
There's besties and then there's the haters. We watch.
Sarah Tiana
Okay, okay.
Bretman Rock
Not you, bestie. It's never about you. Well, it's always about you, bestie, but not at this moment.
Kat
Okay, number six, what's the largest organ in this. In the body?
Sarah Tiana
Oh, me. The largest organ in the body is.
Bretman Rock
So easy.
Sarah Tiana
He's got a five. Isn't it your liver?
Kat
No. Bretman.
Bretman Rock
Skin.
Sarah Tiana
Correct. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay, Well, I learned something today.
Bretman Rock
Period.
Sarah Tiana
Skin. That's crazy.
Kat
Okay, Grade seven.
Bretman Rock
Oh, already?
Kat
Yeah.
Bretman Rock
Do you have extra questions? Because this is too easy.
Kat
I do have a couple extra.
Bretman Rock
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Kat
Grade seven. What's the largest ocean in the Earth? On the earth.
Sarah Tiana
Earth.
Bretman Rock
I'mma let you answer, girl.
Sarah Tiana
What is the largest ocean? Yeah. Pacific Ocean. Yeah.
Bretman Rock
Queen. A queen. A queen.
Kat
Great job.
Bretman Rock
Wait, what's the score? 3 4, right?
Sarah Tiana
Yeah.
Kat
3, 4.
Bretman Rock
I'm 4. Okay, so I want that already. Just so y' all know. Now for some extra credit questions.
Kat
Okay, I only have two.
Bretman Rock
Okay.
Kat
What is the basic building block of all living things?
Sarah Tiana
What is the basic block of all.
Kat
Building block of all living things?
Bretman Rock
Building blocks of all living things.
Sarah Tiana
Yes.
Kat
Princess.
Sarah Tiana
I'm gonna guess oxygen.
Kat
Is that your final answer? No.
Sarah Tiana
What is the.
Bretman Rock
What is it? How many ques. How many answers can you give?
Kat
It's just one.
Sarah Tiana
What was it again? Yeah, sorry.
Kat
What is the basic building block of all living things? Everybody has it.
Sarah Tiana
What do you mean, everybody has it?
Kat
All living things.
Bretman Rock
Energy?
Sarah Tiana
No.
Bretman Rock
Life?
Sarah Tiana
No.
Bretman Rock
Genitals?
Kat
No.
Sarah Tiana
How come he gets to say three o' clock in our house?
Bretman Rock
Clearly, you're. Okay. Go give three answers. Give three answers.
Sarah Tiana
Okay, can you repeat the question again? Sorry.
Kat
What is the basic building block of all living things?
Sarah Tiana
Everybody. Everything. I mean, everybody. Everybody.
Kat
That's every living thing.
Sarah Tiana
Every living thing. Oxygen.
Kat
I think you said that.
Sarah Tiana
Oh, okay.
Bretman Rock
One. Go.
Kat
Yeah.
Sarah Tiana
Okay. What do you start with.
Bretman Rock
Girl? Do you think I was asking that?
Sarah Tiana
Okay, wait.
Bretman Rock
My gosh.
Kat
The human body has trillions of them inside them.
Sarah Tiana
Oh, cells. Yes, Period. Did you know it?
Bretman Rock
No, but congrats. The.
Sarah Tiana
Were you gonna say so?
Bretman Rock
No, I wasn't, princess.
Sarah Tiana
Oh, okay.
Bretman Rock
What the.
Sarah Tiana
I was gonna say blood, period.
Bretman Rock
Plants have blood blood cells. No, they don't, girl.
Kat
Okay, ready for. This is my final question.
Sarah Tiana
Okay.
Kat
What is the term for an animal that eats both plants and animals?
Sarah Tiana
Me. All right. Oh, it's okay.
Bretman Rock
Go. Go first.
Sarah Tiana
Then what. What was the question again?
Kat
What is a term for the animal that eats both plants and animals?
Bretman Rock
Can I. Carnivores. Okay. The term for an animal that eats both plants and animals is an omnivore.
Sarah Tiana
Oh, an omnivore.
Kat
The carnivore.
Sarah Tiana
Carnivore is the meat.
Kat
Yeah.
Sarah Tiana
Okay. You got it.
Bretman Rock
You got it. And then herbivore is.
Sarah Tiana
Herbivore is correct. Oh, no, thanks.
Kat
Good job, y'.
Bretman Rock
All. Period. That was so easy, girl. Oh, my God.
Sarah Tiana
I thought I wasn't gonna answer any of them, but thank God I know.
Kat
I didn't do any plants because I felt like that was being on a really bad advantage on Brett's side.
Bretman Rock
Yeah, if you did plants. I know. Photosynthesis. All right, you guys. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Princess, what is something new you learn about science today?
Sarah Tiana
That the biggest organ in our body is skin.
Bretman Rock
Period. I love that. And today I learned. Honestly, I knew all of them. Honestly. Dare I say I'm a genius, actually, except for one. Which one?
Kat
Yeah.
Bretman Rock
So, yeah, Princess, what is the mitochondria?
Sarah Tiana
A mitochondria?
Bretman Rock
Yeah, it's.
Sarah Tiana
It. It. It's like, you know. Bye, everyone.
Bretman Rock
Bye.
Sarah Tiana
Comment down below. What that is.
