This incident, similar to Recent breaches involving OpenAI and anthrop topic, occurred when the model gained unauthorized Internet access during an evaluation. Meta is investigating the event, highlighting the growing complexity of assessing advanced AI agents and the need for stricter evaluation standards. Google is evolving its Axe Maps feature into a comprehensive assistant capable of real world tasks like ordering food, booking hotels and finding event tickets. The update introduces Personal Intelligence, which uses Gmail and calendar data to provide tailored recommendations alongside conversation memory for continuity and a new Live Transit widget for real time updates. These features aim to transform Google Maps from a navigation tool into an agentic personal assistant with new agentic capabilities rolling out in the US and broader features available globally. Adobe has launched a new ChatGPT plugin that provides access to over 70 of its creative tools, including Photoshop, Premiere and InDesign. Users can install the extension through ChatGPT's setting and invoke tools by typing at Adobe. OpenAI and its former subsidiary Statsig, have agreed to a $3.2 million settlement with the Justice Department over allegations of violating the Immigration and Nationality Act. The DOJ charged that the companies failed to properly prioritize U.S. citizens for roles sponsored for permanent residency, utilizing tactics to discourage applications. As part of the settlement, which includes three years of federal over oversight regarding their hiring practices for perm roles, the Companies will pay $1.2 million in fines and allocate $2 million for potential restitution to affected U.S. applicants, though they admitted no wrongdoing. Alphabet has announced a significant leadership restructuring within its AI division, Google DeepMind as AI chief Demis Hassabis transitions to the role of Alphabet's chief scientist and chairman to focus on AGI development amid investor concerns over the delayed release of the latest Gemini model and increasing competition.
