The blanket ban on connected cars with Chinese tech passed in 2025 over national security concerns and now applies to 2027 vehicles. The US Department of Commerce exempted Sweden based Volvo, which is majority owned by China's Geely holding. American Airlines announced a partnership with SpaceX for inflight Wi Fi to be available through Starlink for over 500 planes beginning in 2027. During the test, the booster properly separated from the ship, but an issue currently attributed to the engine caused the attempt to land the booster back at the South Texas landing site to fail, the statement notes.
