A Real Lemonade Pet Insurance Review by.
Madison H.
Madison H. You know, I thought it was a little ridiculous to get pet insurance, but I really didn't want to not take my little kitten to the vet because of money. In the last eight months I've taken him in six times because of ear infections and saved literally hundreds of dollars. He may even need to get surgery and I couldn't consider it without Lemonade's help. I recommend Lemonade to all my friends constantly and now I'm recommending it to.

These are the Daily Tech headlines for Wednesday, November 13, 2024. I'm Tom Merritt. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has some more info on Apple Smart displays expected to ship in March. Gurman sources tell him it will be a 6 inch display with a built in camera and speakers and a rechargeable battery that can be on a stand or with extra speakers next to it in a wall mo. Either way, it would serve as a matter compatible smart home hub and be controllable through Siri and Apple Intelligence. It will also have FaceTime, web browsing, news updates and music. Gurman says the OS codename Pebble looks like a blend of the Apple Watch operating system and the iPhone's recently launched standby mode. Gurman sources say the device will be priced close to the Nest and Echo show devices which are in the 100 to $300 range. The new Mac mini got a 7 out of 10 from iFixit. Among the nice changes is a modular solid state drive. It's not soldered on anymore, so you can change it yourself. However, the RAM is still soldered on AMD announced that it will lay off 4% of its workforce. That's about 1,000 employees. AMD is the second biggest producer of GPUs behind Nvidia, and the reduction in force is an attempt to get a stronger foothold in the growing AI space dominated by Nvidia. In a statement, an AMD spokesperson said, as part of aligning our resources with our largest growth opportunities, we're taking a number of targeted steps that will unfortunately result in reducing the global workforce by approximately 4%. The information sources say Meta will start running ads on the Thread social network early next year, with the first ones probably arriving in January. The company will start with a small number and slowly expand. Threads has 275 million monthly users and has been averaging 1 million new signups per day. Meanwhile, Blue sky just crossed the 15 million subscriber mark, but it added 1 million new users in the past week. Google is testing, removing news from its search results in Europe Google says it's doing the test because the EU has asked for, quote, additional data about the effect of news content in search. Whatever the reason, 1% of users in Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Spain will not see news results from European publishers during the test, while they will still see news from outlets outside of Europe. GOG is devoting some resources to beefing up game preservation. The game Store company has been working on 100 games to keep them working, but provide ongoing tech support and stamping them with a good old game preserved by GOG badge. These aren't obscure titles either. They include System Shock 2, Warcraft 1 and 2, SimCity 3000 Unlimited, and the Wing Commander series, among others. Microsoft game head Phil Spencer says the company plans to release a handheld gaming device, but that it's years away. They're still in the prototype stage. In the meantime, the company plans to make the Xbox app work better on existing handhelds. Spencer also told Bloomberg that the company is looking at acquiring a mobile game company next. Amazon is attempting to compete better with a new discount store called Amazon hall, as in Hal. The idea is to offer items below $20 with free shipping for orders more than $25 and delivery in less than two weeks. So one dollar eyelash curler, three dollar nail dryer, stuff like that. Amazon imports the items directly from Chinese makers, similar to how Temu and Shein work. You can find Amazon haul in the Amazon mobile app. Amazon is also shutting down the freebie brand that's its free ad supported streaming television service used to be called IMDb Free Dive. While the app and the name are going away, the content is staying. It's available for free in the Prime Video app. You don't have to be a Prime subscriber, but you do have to log in with an Amazon account. Really, what Amazon is doing here is consolidating its TV offerings into one platform. Finally Wednesday, U.S. district Judge James Boasberg allowed the U.S. federal Trade Commission's lawsuit against Metta to proceed. This is the one over the acquisition of Instagram and WhatsApp. The FTC alleges the acquisitions were made to eliminate competition and therefore succeeded in doing so. And that's the problem. Whereas Meta had asked for the case to be dismissed because, well, the FTC approved the acquisitions in 2012 and 2014. Judge Boasberg will meet with the two sides on November 25th to schedule the trial.
