These are the daily tech headlines for Tuesday, April 7, 2026. I'm Rob Dunwood. Apple's rumored foldable iPhone faces unexpected issues in early testing, potentially delaying its release, according to Nikkei and other sources. Suppliers have been notified of the production schedule delay. While a setback this delay could ease the component supply strain Apple is experiencing, possibly reducing demand for pricey parts planned for the Foldable's rumored September launch. The Foldable iPhone has been rumored since 2017. Google's AI overviews, which are AI generated summaries at the top of search results, have positioned the company as a publisher but face significant accuracy concerns. Although one disputed analysis claimed 90% accuracy, this still results in tens of millions of annual errors. A major challenge is that over half of the accurate responses are ungrounded, meaning their supporting links do not fully verify the information. This raises concerns about the trustworthiness of AI systems that can be influenced by false online content, leading experts to advise users to always verify the results. Microsoft faced criticism for Legacy Language in its Copilot terms of use, last updated in October 2025, which warned users that the tool was for entertainment purposes only and could make mistakes. The company responded to the criticism by telling PCMAG that this disclaimer is no longer reflective of how Copilot is used today, and that they plan to update the language in their next revision to reflect the product's evolution. Intel has partnered with Elon Musk's Terafab AI chip project, which includes SpaceX and Tesla, to manufacture processors from Musk's robotics and Data center ventures. This collaboration leverages Intel's chip design and fabrication capabilities to help Terafab achieve its massive goal of producing 1 terawatt per year of compute. The plan involves building two advanced chip factories in Austin, Texas, and the announcement following Musk's visit and earlier suggestions led to a nearly 3% rise in intel shares. Anthropic has committed a significant compute expansion by securing next generation TPU capacity from Google and Broadcom. Expected online in 2027, this infrastructure, largely US based, will power future Claude models and support surging demand, coinciding with the company's run rate of revenue exceeding $30 billion and a doubling of its 1 million plus business customers. The deal builds on existing Google Cloud and Broadcom partnerships, ensuring Claude's availability across aws, Google Cloud and Azure. While AM remains Anthropic's primary cloud and training partner, Adobe has introduced Acrobat Spaces, a new free AI tool for students. It transforms study materials like PDFs, links and notes into aids like presentations, flashcards, and quizzes. Competing with tools like Google's NotebookLM, Spacious provides a single platform for reading course materials and generating study tools. Students can upload various documents, including handwritten notes, to create flashcards, mind maps, quizzes, Adobe Express, Power Presentations and even two person AI podcast all supported by a document grounded chat assistant for accuracy. Google has introduced Google AI Edge Eloquent, a new free online first dictation app for iOS that competes with apps like Whisper Flow and Superwhisper. It utilizes local gamma based ASR models for real time transcription and features AI powered text polishing to automatically remove filler words and refine text upon pausing with an optional cloud based Gemini Cleanup feature. An upcoming Android version is also planned which will offer system wide transcription access via a default keyboard and floating button. Netflix has introduced Netflix Playground, a new standalone free interactive gaming app for subscribers specifically targeting children eight years and under. Available now in the US on iOS and Android and launching globally on April 28, the app offers a completely kid friendly experience with online access to games featuring characters like Peppa Pig and Sesame street and is free of ads and in app purchases. This launch highlights Netflix's growing emphasis on kids content and its strategy of expanding dedicated gaming platforms for younger audiences. And finally, Spotify is launching its AI Powered Prompted Playlist feature for English language podcasts to premium users in the us, Canada, uk, Ireland, Australia and Sweden. This feature lets users create and update podcast playlists from prompts with explanations for episode choices. Spotify aims to boost podcast discovery, which its global Head of Podcast editorial Lizzie Hale calls effortless for fans. This follows other moves like lowering video podcast monetization criteria to better support podcasts.
