This episode is brought to you by Capital One Capital One's tech team isn't just talking about multi agentic AI. They already deployed one. It's called Chat Concierge and it's simplifying car shopping using self reflection and layered reasoning with live API checks. It doesn't just help buyers find a car they love, it helps schedule a test drive, get pre approved for financing and estimate trade in value. Advanced, intuitive and deployed. That's how they stack. At Capital One, I'm Jake Stauch, co founder and CEO of Cervel. We built Cerval to automate the IT work that slows companies down. Onboarding, password resets, access to applications. My laptop stopped working. While employees wait for help, their real work is put on hold. It desperately wants to automate this work. And that's why they need Serval. You just tell Serval what you want to automate in plain English and it's built. No drag and drop workflows, no expensive consultants. Employees get unblocked and IT teams go from drowning in tickets to building what actually matters. With Cerval, it becomes the AI engine powering the entire company. This is a new way to run it. We guarantee you'll automate 50% of all tickets and we'll prove it to you in a free four week pilot. Go to serval.com acast that's S-E-R-V-A-L.com acast

These are the daily tech headlines for Wednesday, June 3, 2026. I'm Sarah Lane. The UK's Competition and Markets Authority, or CMA, will require Google to let publishers opt out of AI generated search results while remaining in traditional search rankings. Meant to give news organizations and other websites more leverage in negotiating how their content is used. The regulator is also requiring Google to clearly attribute publisher content and link back to original sources in AI search results. Google says it's already testing new controls in the UK with where publishers have complained that AI overviews are reducing their traffic. The European Commission unveiled a Tech Sovereignty strategy to reduce the EU's dependence on US technology providers by strengthening domestic cloud, AI, chip and digital infrastructure companies. The plan would direct public funding towards European technology, streamline data center development, expand AI and chip initiatives and and require governments to assess risks tied to foreign controlled digital services. EU officials say the goal is long term competitiveness and resilience, not decoupling from US tech companies. Microsoft unveiled seven new in house AI models at Build 2026, headlined by my thinking one, its first advanced reasoning model. The medium sized model was trained from scratch without using outputs from third party models and and performs competitively on key software engineering benchmarks. Microsoft also introduced new image generation, transcription, voice and coding models including my image 2.5, my transcribe 1.5 and my voice 2. Then there's my code 1, which is integrated into GitHub, Copilot and Visual Studio code. As Microsoft continues expanding beyond its reliance on OpenAI, Microsoft also revealed Project Solara, a new Android based platform for AI first devices that run agents instead of traditional apps. The company demonstrated a desktop hub and a wearable badge that use AI agents for tasks like authentication, transcription and workflow automation, with processing coordinated between local hardware and Azure cloud services. Microsoft plans to provide reference designs and software to partners with companies including AccuWeather, Best Buy, CVS Health, Levi's and Target set to pilot the technology. Researchers at the University of Toronto demonstrated a prototype AI powered worm that can autonomously exploit known software vulnerabilities across Windows, Linux and IoT devices, adapt its attack methods, steal credentials and continue spreading even after some flaws are patched. Unlike traditional worms, the AI driven system can learn from infected machines and use their computing resources to improve future attacks. The prototype can't discover new vulnerabilities on its own, but the researchers warn advanced AI security models could eventually enable self propagating malware capable of finding and exploiting new flaws at Internet scale. Google says it will replenish more water than its data centers consume by 2030 and expanding its water stewardship program to 165 projects across 97 watersheds that are expected to restore 19 billion gallons annually. That's more than double the company's 2024 water use. This includes $17 million for new conservation and restoration projects across several US states, a? 500 million investment in public water infrastructure and commitments to use AIR cooling or reclaimed wastewater in regions facing water stress. Plex is expanding beyond streaming with new social features for users to discover and discuss content. Discussions is a Reddit like forum for conversations about movies and TV shows. Enhanced lists can be shared and reacted to and a match score recommendation system based on viewing habits. Then there's also activity alerts. The rollout comes as Plex is increasing the price of its lifetime plex Pass to 749.99 on July 1st and finally today. Pokemon Champions is coming to iOS and Android on June 17th. The game debuted on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 back in April. The mobile version supports full cross platform play and shared save data via a linked Nintendo account, letting players continue progress across devices. Players can also earn victory points to improve teams and a launch bonus tied to the mobile release includes a free right shoe with Mega Evolution options.
