Nvidia has reportedly instructed several of its component suppliers, including Amcur Technology, Samsung Electronics and Foxconn, to cease production of its made for China H20 graphics processing units. This directive follows a recent move by the Chinese government, which allegedly told local tech companies to stop purchasing these chips due to security concerns. In response to inquiries and inv BDs, Boshwarson stated, We constantly manage our supply chain. To address market conditions, Apple TV has raised its monthly subscription price to $12.99 per month, a 30% increase effective immediately for new subscribers and upon renewal for existing ones. This is the third price hike since its 2019 launch and comes as Apple reportedly loses over $1 billion annually on the service, which despite critical acclaim, lags behind competitors and subscriber numbers. The yearly rate and Apple one bundle prices remain unchanged. Got a bit of Google News for you. Let's start with Meta. Having signed a six year, $10 billion agreement to use Google Cloud services primarily for AI infrastructure, this deal boasts Google's competitive standing against Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, following Google Cloud's strong financial performance. Focus on AI infrastructure supports Meta's LLAMA models and AI integration despite the historical rivalry between the two companies. You can now edit video right in Google Drive via Google Vids, offering trimming text and music additions and VEO integration creating a new editable file. This feature is available to pay Google Workspace business and enterprise plans nonprofits and those with specific Gemini add ons. It supports MP4, QuickTime, Ogg and WebM formats with individual clip limits of 35 minutes and 4 gigabytes, and works on recent versions of Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge currently available on machines running Window. Google has introduced Gemini for Government, an AI platform with NotebookLM, enterprise search and content generation. Competing with OpenAI and Anthropic. It aims to automate administrative tasks using pre built and custom AI agents for research and idea generation. Features include strong threat protection, data privacy and compliance with Sec 4 and FedRAMP, priced at $0.50 annually with security upgrades. Google seeks to be competitive. Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows creators to link multiple reels together in the series, a capability already popular on TikTok. This innovation enables creators to easily connect related content such as multi part stories or themed video series, making it simpler for viewers to follow along without having to search or scroll. Creators can link reels when uploading new content or by editing previously shared videos, and viewers can navigate through the series using a new button. Instagram anticipates this highly requested feature will enrich storytelling, increase, increase audience engagement, and potentially convert casual viewers into followers by making content more discoverable and cohesive. Waymo, Alphabet's self driving car company has received the first permit to test autonomous vehicles in New York City. They will begin with updated vehicles in Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn through late September with a human safety driver present. This expansion follows launches in Austin and San Francisco with future plans for Atlanta, Miami, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia as Waymo aims to enter the Northeast market and New York City Mayor Eric Adams administration has implemented safety regulations and a permit program for responsible testing. Visa has ceased its U S Open banking operations due to regulatory uncertainty regarding consumer data rights and potential increases in fees for customer information. The company's open banking arm provided technology facilitating third party access to customer account data. This decision comes amidst ongoing regulatory discussions about the rule that would prevent banks from charging for access to customer data, a measure that was initially sought to be overturned under the Trump administration and is now being re evaluated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. And finally, Digg is attempting a comeback, backed by co founders Kevin Rose and Alexis Ohanian, aiming to reclaim its status as the Internet's homepage currently invite only. The platform recently launched a new mobile app similar to Reddit. Users submit links for comments and upvotes or digs, which help content rise in the feed. A berry function also personalizes individual feeds by signaling preferences for minimizing certain content types.
