These are the daily tech headlines for Monday, May 11, 2026. I'm Jen Kutter. As part of mobile payment service Venmo's redesign, it is now possible to private posts, making them visible only to the sender and recipient only to friends or the old way, which was available to the public. Dollar amounts will be hidden on any public posts. New users will select privacy options during onboarding, and existing users can tweak visibility in settings also, A Venmo feed redesign will roll out in stages on iOS and Android over the coming weeks. The feed changes include more and larger image options, reactions and quick actions like say thanks. On Monday, OpenAI announced the European Union will have access to its latest model GPT 5.5 Cyber. The model will be available to the EU, AI office, governments, cyber authorities and some businesses. The EU and Anthropic have conducted several discussions over Mythos access, but the model has not yet been made available to the block. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports Apple will address issues with Liquid glass on Mac OS 26 with a slight redesign. Gurman says the update is more of a cleanup and refinement effort as part of a polish pass and will fix the wonky behavior with shadows and transparency. Gurman's newsletter also notes Liquid Glass is not going away. Pizza chain Papa John's is testing food delivery with Alphabet's drone company Wing. The test is limited to a section of southern North Carolina and only includes three sandwich options and zero pizzas. Wing CEO Adam Woodworth told Wired that since pizza boxes have a big, flat surface area, it makes them not particularly aerodynamic. Woodworth, clearly understanding the customer base, highlights that no one is interested in a tilted pizza. Wing has existing partnerships with Doordash, Panera and Walmart in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas Fort Worth and Houston. Variety reports Pop star Dua Lipa is suing Samsung over unauthorized commercial use of a copyrighted photograph of her used on Samsung's TV packaging. The lawsuit alleges the singer contacted Samsung to request removal of her image from the packaging and the response was dismissive and callous, with the company refusing to change the image. Samsung has yet to comment on the suit. An ad free TikTok experience will be available to UK users 18 and up, rolling out over the coming months. The subscription service costs £4 per month, approximately $5.50. There are no other perks for the app included with the subscription, just the ad removal. No information yet on whether the feature will expand to the US Last fall, Meta made a similar subscription service available in the UK for Facebook and Instagram for £3amonth. In a report from the Google Threat Intelligence Group, the GTIG identified and patched a zero day exploit developed with AI that was planned to be used in a max exploitation event. The exploit is for an unnamed open source web admin tool that could have bypassed two factor authentication. The GTIG believes the Python code for the exploit was generated using LLMs pointing to including a hallucinated CVSS score and other typical LLM training data. Examples and Discord announced an update to Nitro subscriptions called Nitro Rewards. Nitro Awards have no additional fees and now include access to the Starter edition of Xbox Game Pass, as well as discounts with Logitech SteelSeries and Control Freak. Discord's Nitro Awards page says availability is rolling out to eligible members over the coming weeks. Nitro Basic and Classic subscribers are not eligible and perk availability will vary by region. Discord Nitro, which offers users larger uploads, the ability to use emojis across servers and HD streaming, is $9.99 per month or $99.99 a year.
