CBU is brought to you in partnership with my bookie. And before you ask about this color, green. No, this is not a Packers hoodie. And even if it were, who cares?
Co-host/Nick
That's the first thing I said to you. I was like, is it packers hurting? You got.
Dan Bernstein
No, there's one more two lane game.
Co-host/Nick
One.
Dan Bernstein
I know we got a big day.
Co-host/Nick
Tomorrow, so you're going to wear that two days in a row?
Dan Bernstein
I don't know. I got other two lane hoodies I can wear. And what if I do? What if I want to wear it?
Co-host/Nick
You should. I think you should wear it. I think you should wear it till Monday.
Dan Bernstein
I. Maybe I will. We've. We've got a.

Dan Bernstein
It's at my cousin's apartment. We're gonna go hobnob with the society folk.

Co-host/Nick

Dan Bernstein
Great plan there a great football game last night, by the way. That was. So it's 30 to 14. I figure, well, you know, this offense has a difficult time coming from behind. They're gonna. This is gonna be a game. Can I. And, you know, Al was starting to get a little tired. And then I'm like, okay, I'm tired, too, Al. At one point, he didn't even know they were back from commercial. And there's like, a hot mic thing going on.
Co-host/Nick
And then.
Dan Bernstein
So I go upstairs and then right back. Of course, I check my phone right before, like, wait, what. What do you mean it's tied? So then I get. I figured out how to get the prime feed on my phone there in. It was perfect. And what a. What an entertaining game. What an. That's former Bear Eric Saubert, by the way.
Co-host/Nick
Yeah, good for you, because I checked out at 30 to 14 as well. We turned on a show, and then I watched that. Didn't even bother checking my phone again. Just assumed it was over. Went to bed, woke up this morning, and I was like, there's no way Seattle won. I'm like, come on.
Dan Bernstein
Great game with lots at stake and puking a coup. Is he good? You know, he may be. Maybe have the whole anti Semitic dance thing and yelling at the refs thing, but. Oh, my God, is he a good football player? And, you know, I figured out who he looks like sometimes in the middle of his patterns and the way he attacks the football. Who Prime? Heinz Ward.
Co-host/Nick
Ooh.
Dan Bernstein
That's what he looks like.
Co-host/Nick
That's good, too. That's a. That's a good. That's a good pick right there.
Martha Stewart
Good.
Dan Bernstein
He looks like Peak Heinz Ward. Just really strong and fast and plays with his hair on fire.
Co-host/Nick
Been all out, but neither one of them, though. You wouldn't have looked at Heinz Warden going, that guy's fast and strong. Not right. Not from the eyesight.
Dan Bernstein
Not until the game starts.
Co-host/Nick
Yes.
Dan Bernstein
God, Nick, who was good.
Co-host/Nick
Yeah. He had 48 and a half points for me last night in fantasy.

Co-host/Nick
Yeah, no, you're not wrong about that. I had a DoorDash delivery at 2am I know.

Do on Fridays and that's what we are going to do. We're very excited about it. And we will also be culminating with DBU picks. And I got a couple good ones. Because December doesn't have to be the most expensive month of the year. When you're betting with my bookie, 12 Days of Christmas is here. That means daily offers. That means back to back offers across sports and casino bet and gets profit boosts, free spins, surprise drops. If you're a social or telegram user, December's full of stuff. Everywhere you look you're like, oh yeah, there's another bowl game. Oh wait, the Bulls are playing tonight. NFL bowl season, college hoops, NBA. These are all chances to cash. Go to my bookie. And when you do, use our code, it's DBU for Dan Bernstein, unfiltered. Get your first bet covered up to $500. And then if you go big and you miss on that first one, use your bet back bonus token and run it back. So bet on anything, anywhere, anytime, only with my bookie. And as I mentioned, DBU picks, you don't want to miss them at the end.
Co-host/Nick
Hey, can I say something before we start off? We're going into Friday feedback Friday first, right?
Dan Bernstein
Yes.
Co-host/Nick
Okay. Can I say something? Just want to, I want to, I want to share something with our audience real quick. Been thinking about something and thought about something a lot. Yesterday there was an interaction that you had on email and I can't remember, did we talk about that off air or was that, was that during the recording of the show where you had a really, really nasty email you responded to? Oh, got a response back. Was that, was that on recording or was that.
Dan Bernstein
I don't think it was. He emailed me again yesterday.
Co-host/Nick
Okay. And you know, obviously we get a lot of feedback and majority of it is positive stuff and supportive of the show, but there is a lot of negative stuff that comes through. And given your interaction that you had in the email, again, this email comes through really, really nasty. You shared a nice response back. He emailed you back almost immediately and said he's just going through a tough time.
Dan Bernstein
He was apologizing, apologetic for it, what.
Co-host/Nick
He said, very, very nasty stuff. Fine. And then you guys have responded and it's gone back and forth a couple times.
Dan Bernstein
Yeah. And I've actually been, been, you know, talking about some mental health stuff with.
Co-host/Nick
Them and so that, that's stuck in my brain and There was a guy about two weeks ago had a comment on YouTube about something going through some hard times. And so I just. I. I responded on YouTube and said, hey, here's my email. Feel free to email anytime you want. And he. He hasn't. Hasn't reached out. But I just want to put it out there to our audience because there's a lot that we've talked about, about personal journeys and mental health and growth and evolving, becoming the best version of yourself. That's been a lot of topic threaded in through our show since August 24, and I want to put it out there, and I'm being sincere about this to our listeners. If you're a dude that you don't feel like you have anyone you could talk to or don't feel like you can talk to anyone, I get that. And I know it's a stereotype of men that's been going on for age, okay. That you're just the tough guy. You keep things in and you deal with stuff quietly and on your own. I want to give you an invitation from us, from our show that you can email us anytime to share anything that's going on in your brain. If you don't feel like you could talk to someone or don't feel like you have someone to talk to, put it down an email for us, and you can do one of two things. I'll make this really, really easy for you in the email. Just. You can just send the email and then we'll respond. Or in the email, if you don't want a response, you can just say at the end, hey, I just want to share this. Want to get it off my chest. No need for any kind of response, because sometimes just getting things off your chest is very helpful to people.
Dan Bernstein
That's what I explained in this interaction that I had with, let's face it, a troll of somebody who was in the comments on YouTube and all over the emails, just trolling and really, really nasty. Really, really nasty stuff. And ultimately our conversation evolved, and I just said, hey, if you responding to the show in this way is your outlet, like me yelling at the television during a Bears game, if I'm just. If that's all this is, and that's what we are, and that's how you stay feel healthy or sane or whatever it is, it's not the best thing in the world, but I get it if that's how you use the show. So that was kind of the explanation that I had there, that sometimes there isn't always a problem to be solved or a solution to be had. But I understand it that maybe rather than doing other things, that that's the outlet for anger and bad feelings.
Co-host/Nick
Yeah. And so I want to invite you to do that and share. And if you just need someone to listen, we can read your emails and we can quote, unquote, listen to you. If you want interaction, we can do that, too. But if you don't want interaction, just let us know that and just say, hey, I just want to get this off my chest. Totally get it. And I just. I just. I want us to realize that there are so many more significant, greater impactful, important things happening in the world that sports shouldn't. Shouldn't dictate a really negative, hostile relationship between two strangers. If that's how it needs to start out for you, though, we're happy to receive that for you and we'll be there for you. And I mean this with all sincerity. I mean, I'm not around. This isn't a bit. This isn't a joke.
Guest/Caller
It just.
Co-host/Nick
It really stuck with me, that interaction you had as I was driving around in my Ubering of children back and forth four different, five different times yesterday for sporting events and practices. It was just in my brain a lot. And I know a lot of people don't have people they can talk to. I feel very fortunate that I'm very comfortable in my relationship with my wife, that she forces me out of my comfort zone to kind of be vulnerable and open and talk. And I'm not good at it. I don't like doing it. It makes my stomach turn. But I work at doing it. I have her. I also have some good friends in my life that I know I can reach out to. If we hadn't talked to each other in weeks or months, I can call and say, hey, I need to chat real quick. I know I have guys like that and not everyone does. And sometimes you have those people in your life, but you don't feel comfortable sharing because you should be the strong, tough guy who carries everything and all the burdens and weights of your family and your life on your shoulders. You don't have to do that. If you listen to the show, you either like us and so there's something wrong with you or there you really do have something going on and you just need to vent sometimes. We're here for you to do that. So I just wanted to put that out there. If you don't want a response, just put that in the email. Say, hey, I'm just, you know, getting this off my chest. And you know, we'll respect you in that regard and read it and let you know that we read it and we're not going to just leave you hanging. But if you do want interaction, we're here for you too. So seriously, just take that for what it's worth and just wanted to put that out there on Friday Feedback Friday.
Dan Bernstein
It's a great way to start. So I want to get into it by beginning with just a couple of voice messages that we select here and there. Another thing also trying to keep up with, and I do try to respond to everything that we get, but some of them just are flying in. And it's not like we have an office full of assistants who can sit around and do a lot of this stuff for us. So I'm doing my best to try to give you a response to everything in all these various modalities, realities and social media, etc. With the exception of Twitter where I'll still post stuff. But if you that's reach, you're not going to be able to reach me, as you know through Twitter notifications because I don't check those. So let's go with whatever though, what we have lined up for Friday Feedback Friday from our 312Sports app.
Co-host/Nick
Yep, this first one here is from Shugo Shin, who sends a lot of messages. But here I'll share this. This one that he sent in with.
Dan Bernstein
Us this past week. Week.
Co-host/Nick
You know what?
Guest/Caller
After being forced to watch A Christmas Story hundreds of times as a child, you know, you have no control over the remote in the house, so you're left to the whims of your parents. And by you know what, TNT would just constantly play A Christmas Story and after the hundredth time watching it, you eventually stop telling your mother that you hate it and you just sort of live with the hate. Let fester, you let it become a complex, and then you outwardly explode every time you see that movie. Come on. Now that you're out of the house and you never want to see it again, so good on you, Dan. You don't have to watch A Christmas Story. And Matt Miracle. Really, the movie's okay. Barely gets a passing grade of all the sports movies. It's just like, oh, I guess Miracle. Yeah, yeah, it's a movie. It's a sports movie. I don't know. Maybe, maybe I wasn't because I wasn't born then. Maybe, maybe it has no relevance to me. Or maybe it's just a dad movie that I hated myself for watching because I just there's just movies that my dad loves. I'm just like, nah, I'm good. I'm good, fam. Don't need it.
Co-host/Nick
So, okay, first of all, the tnt, I think, I think it is TNT that runs A Christmas story for 24 straight hours. Not necessary.
Dan Bernstein
It's.
Co-host/Nick
It's a fine movie and it's something that I may watch once a season, you know, but I've definitely seen it more than, more than one time. And it's. If you haven't seen it, I think you should see it now. Miracle. He's completely wrong on and it's because he was born after 1980, so he has no idea what it meant to be involved and to watch it. Even as a 7 year old kid, I can still visualize it watching that in my dad's condo with my brothers and my dad on that Friday night, watching that game. I remember watching the game against, against Russia. It's a great movie. I did an impromptu poll on, on X and like, is it a good movie? Yes or no? 89 said it's a good movie worth watching. So I think you should watch it. It's really good. So anyway, you and Shugo are the two wrong people on the planet and that's fine.
Dan Bernstein
Fair enough.
Co-host/Nick
Alright, this last one is from Ryan. He sent this in to us.
Guest/Caller
Oh shit, it's recording. All right, you bum, listen. If Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie, then neither is Home Alone. They're the same movie. The grumpy hero has to dispatch the invaders so that he could spend Christmas with his family. It's all about forgiveness and love. That's the whole Character arc John McClane has to go through where he says, like, I told her I love her a thousand times. I never told her I'm sorry. You know, these are all, these are all Christmas themes. Just because he.
Martha Stewart
Ho, ho, ho.
Guest/Caller
I got a shotgun doesn't make it not a Christmas movie.
Dan Bernstein
Ho ho, ho. Yes, it does.
Guest/Caller
It absolutely does. It has Christmas music, it has themes, things I didn't plan. I got nothing else to say.
Just.
It is a Christmas movie.
Co-host/Nick
Okay, all right, I'm going to say, I'm going to say two things. Number one, a theme of Christmas is not. I'm sorry, it's not like I've never given.
Dan Bernstein
Isn't it Christ died for our sins. Is that part of it? No. Or that's Easter. That's Easter.
Co-host/Nick
This is the birth. Celebrating the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. Right? You don't give out Christmas cards that are like, Merry Christmas I'm sorry. Like, Hallmark hasn't come up with those yet. So first of all, I'm sorry is not a theme. It never has been a theme. It never will be a theme of Christmas. Like, unless you murdered your family on Christmas and you want to apologize to other members of your family, wait till.
Dan Bernstein
We get to the bottom 10 packers.
Co-host/Nick
And my second thing. I'm the second thing. I'm going to invite a guest in to. To respond so I don't have to do this. But this is from the Comedy Central roast of Bruce Willis. This is Bruce Willis.
Dan Bernstein
I. Hard is not a Christmas movie. It's a goddamn Bruce Willis movie. So a yippee Kanye to all of you. Good night. He's wrong. He's wrong.
Co-host/Nick
Hang on. Hang on a second.
Dan Bernstein
Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. Yeah, it is. There you go. He's wrong.
Co-host/Nick
Bruce Willis said it. It's Bruce Willis's movie. If he says it's not a Christmas movie, who are you to argue with John McClane?
Dan Bernstein
He's wrong. Mr. Pouty Pants sent this in. He said, yeah, this is blasphemous if you love Christmas vacation, but if you're over the age of 10 and you haven't seen it, don't. It is slow. It is boring. You've probably heard every joke. I didn't see it till about 15 years ago when my in laws insisted we watch it. And the only reason I stayed awake is I felt I had to validate my place in the family. That obligation has passed, and I can go back to being the cranky bastard that I actually am. Thank you, Mr. Pouty Pants.
Co-host/Nick
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
Dan Bernstein
When I told the story of the funeral of my Uncle Dick, and the rabbi saying, it is now time for a moment of silent reflection so you can be alone with your thoughts of Dick. And I made the mistake of looking at my sister, and the rest was history. This is from Chris, who said, we also, when my uncle died in 2004, had thoughts of Dick. My uncle Dick Payne. And he said, his daughter is my dog's vet, Dr. Payne.
Co-host/Nick
Oh, boy, that's great.
Dan Bernstein
And this is a note from Cam in Bridgeport who always sends things that are totally out there, and I love it. He said the bit about the local Dick's grocery store and the Dick's Insider card had me cracking up, especially when Matt guessed the program was Dick's Picks. That may have been a throwaway, but as a deadhead, Dick's Picks is a very real thing with some great lore behind it August 1979, a Grateful Dead run in Colorado. The shows are supposed to be at Red Rocks. Heavy rain forced the second night to McNichols Arena. One Bill Walton was walking the concourse pre show when he spotted a guy wearing an incredibly airbrushed T shirt that Walton said depicted the entire history of the world through the prism of the Grateful Dead pyramids, rainbows, serpents imagery. And Bill said, hey, man, that's the coolest shirt I've ever seen. And without a word, the guy took it off right there, Tarzan style, handed it to Walton and went on his way. Three and a half hours later, Bill Walton, heading out with the band through the back of the arena, saw the now shirtless man straddling the metal barriers among the crowd, screaming and waving to the band. Walton walked over, grabbed him by the back of the neck, pulled him over the barrier and into the van, saying, you're coming with us.
Co-host/Nick
That's awesome.
Dan Bernstein
When Walton showed off the shirt and the story, the band was so impressed they hired the guy on the spot to help with their archives. That enigmatic hippie was Richard Dick Latvala. The band had been discussing the need to hire someone to manage their mounting catalog of live recordings, as things often did in the Dead. Universe just unfolded organically through a chance encounter and and a shared passion rather than a formal process. Walton's connection kickstarted Latva's role, leading to his deep dive into the Vault and the creation of the Dick's Picks series. His job was to sit in a dark room and pick his personal favorite shows pulled from their massive vault of tapes. It ran for 36 volumes and became a staple for Deadheads everywhere.
Co-host/Nick
That's really awesome. That's a great story.
Dan Bernstein
Isn't that great?
Co-host/Nick
And then the next morning, he woke up in a bathtub with Bill Walton and his wife.
Dan Bernstein
Bill Walton, I'm so happy to be here. Life is amazing. He was the best man here is Nick, who said I didn't Hear the initial DBU when Kevin Warren earned his first of 10 and counting game shovels, but it bugs a piss out of me when I see him front and center for Ben Johnson's ball dispersal. With each victory, Warren seems to inch closer to Ben Johnson, ready to hoist the little guy up on his shoulders and parade him around the locker room high fives and tousling his hair after another victory. Is his presence in the locker room his way of saying, who cares if Arlington park construction is as dead as Jacob Marley? I had everything to do with bringing in this guy as he points to Johnson and practically stamps hired by Kevin Warren on his forehead. This is the same guy who said he trusted Matt Eberfluss. To do what? Graduate to the unsupervised use of safety scissors? Warren should retreat to the back of the locker room and give us all the impression his intentions are a little more than just intentions.
Co-host/Nick
Yeah, I. I've said this multiple times. It bothers me to see him in every camera shot in the locker room, whether it's road or. Or away or home. It's just. There's. There's no reason for you to be there. None. None whatsoever.
Dan Bernstein
So here is one. This is a long one. And I pulled the best part from Michael in Joliet who said, I am so tired of what's already happening with Philip Rivers. Once again, the announcers are fawning over him like he's some kind of prodigy or some sort of. Of special quarterback of all time because he doesn't use swear words. He talks a lot of trash, but doesn't cuss. You know what? Who gives a fuck? Thank you, Michael, for that. Jeff in Naperville was listening to our discussion talking about the potential promotions from the Bears practice squad among their wide receivers.
Co-host/Nick
Yep.
Dan Bernstein
And we mentioned JP Peterson and Jeff said, you are welcome to tell me that JP Peterson is a practice squad wide receiver out of tcu. I refuse to believe that. I choose to believe he is a regional furniture store magnate. I am very concerned about the prospect of the bears fielding a 60 year old, white mustachioed entrepreneur straight out of local TV spots featuring his beautiful family gushing over new leather couches.
Co-host/Nick
That's good. That's really good.
Dan Bernstein
Okay, feel free to do that. Jim in Orland park said you mentioned the cracker kid from Different Strokes. That's the redhead, Sam. He was played by Danny Cooksey. A few years later, Danny Cooksey as a teenager, was recruited by guitarist Steve Vai to form a teenager hair metal band called Bad for Good. Steve Vai produced it and wrote the songs. The band also included Thomas McRocklin, who is the kid in Steve Vai's the audience's Listening video playing the guitar. Jim, thank you. I love stuff like this. Bad for Good, I don't know.
Co-host/Nick
Oh, man.
Dan Bernstein
Here is another one from a different Nick who was talking about the pigeons on the field and what would happen. Our discussion of what would happen if at Soldier Field one of the pigeons interfered with the football. See, I got a real kick out of that. Imagining an NFL coach challenging animal interference. There's something about the broadcast throwing it to Landino to explain migration patterns and talon length. That makes me giggle. Of course, it'll never top former NFL players trying to explain how electricity works during Super Bowl 47 when Beyonce Fried the circuit board in New Orleans. But the bears have had their share of animal interference over the years. Bulldog Turner, Moose Musso, Big Cat Williams. But no animal interfered more with bears success than John Fox, who happens to be the coach most likely to throw the red flag for pigeon related infractions. Can you blame him because. Because he's still mourning the loss of his beloved woolly monkey, Gidget.
Co-host/Nick
Hey, real quick, going back to the Bad For Good, the band. What was the name of the dude you mentioned there?
Dan Bernstein
Danny Cooksey.
Co-host/Nick
Oh, Danny Cooksey. Who else? Anybody? What other name?
Dan Bernstein
Thomas McRoughlin. Okay, that's all I got. Why?
Co-host/Nick
All right, well, who's Jim? Jim Steinman.
Dan Bernstein
I don't know.
Co-host/Nick
Okay, so he like, he did the albums for the studio albums for Bad For Good. Jim Steinman.
Dan Bernstein
Okay.
Co-host/Nick
He, he wrote and produced the song It's All Coming Back to Me now for Celine Dion.
Dan Bernstein
Okay, yeah, good for him.
Co-host/Nick
Yeah, good for him is right. Because I mean, I've never heard of Bad for Good, but definitely have heard Celine Dion belt out that song.
Dan Bernstein
I want to close the email portion of Friday Feedback Friday with this from Brendan. Talking about our tribute to Rob Reiner, he said, I'm a little younger than you guys. I'm a man. I'm 40. He said, I wasn't even alive for when this is Spinal Tap came out. And I was not aware of Rob Reiner's work in those seven incredible films until much later. But in 1995, when I was in fifth grade, my mom really wanted to see the Michael Douglas, Annette Bening romantic comedy the American President. And apparently my dad didn't want to go or would go. So she took me. I was entranced. While the story itself isn't really anything particularly special, Aaron Sorkin's dialogue sparkles at some of his best work. The cast is incredible. Douglas Benning, Martin Sheen, Richard Dreyfus, John Mahoney, Michael J. Fox in one of his absolute best performances in a career of them, playwright Anna deviar Smith Sorkin favorite Joshua Molina, David Pamer, one of the great that guys of 90s film and TV, even a bit appearance by legendary White House journalist Helen Thomas. But it's Reiner's direction, which is self consciously influenced by Frank Capra, that makes the movie such a success. He makes Washington seem like a magical place Filled with, yeah, some bad actors, but a lot of people who want to do good and have to make some bad compromises. Sometimes I was like 10 or 11 when I saw it in theaters. I remember walking out feeling like a million bucks. I knew I'd witnessed something special, though. I couldn't define it. But everything about that movie had a profound influence on me. Specifically. Reiner's and Sorkin's politics are part of what made me idealistic. Its dialogue shaped how I write. The acting was the primary reason I went to see films like Wonder Boys and American Beauty later in high school. But I simply marvel at the direction even now. A cheerful, hopeful sheen around the film that lets you savor the Capra esque nature of it. The American President probably isn't Reiner's best film for most people. It's probably not top five for me though. It's not only my favorite Reiner film, it's my favorite movie ever made. I know it's not the best. It's not revolutionary. It's not an arty masterpiece. It's not even the best movie of the year in which it came out. 1995 had Toy Story, Casino 7, Before Sunrise, Clueless Babe. Those are certifiable classics. But every time I watch the American President, it gives me the same feeling I had when I saw it in fifth grade. Great in the theater with a magic all its own. And that magic ingredient I have come to understand was Rob Reiner.
Co-host/Nick
No, it's great, well written and that is a fantastic movie. Yeah, not a. Not a great artsy movie, but it's something I've seen that multiple times, enjoyed every time. Did you mention Richard Dreyfus there?
Dan Bernstein
I did.
Co-host/Nick
He did.
Dan Bernstein
Great movie.
Co-host/Nick
Great, great, great, great movie.
Dan Bernstein
Thanks as always for all the feedback. This is a tiny, tiny, tiny sampling. And sometimes I make mistakes and. But I do my best to try to put a representative sample of stuff together for every Friday. And I always look forward to it and always appreciate the feedback. So thank you for it once again.

Sorry, I. You wanted bottom 10 packers.
Co-host/Nick
I.
Dan Bernstein
We're going to be just, just buckle up because. All right, so I took this assignment seriously and I'm going to try to have fun with it, but it's gets pretty dark pretty fast.
Co-host/Nick
All right, so here's, here's what I'm going to do because I knew how you were going to go with this because I just. Because I know you and that's, that's how I knew. So I'm going to read what the committee has down here for their list. And they actually didn't put these in any particular order because they wanted the actual order of 10 bottom packers to come from you. So here's, here's some, here's some names that they had and some brief descriptions for things starting for the committee with a couple of honorable mentions in free agent signings. Amari Rogers, Mark Roman. You can look those up if you want. Here's the first one they highlight is the 1950 Green Bay Packers. They finished 3 and 9 with a point differential of negative 62. Finished with the ninth most turnovers by a team in NFL history with 57 all right, so Tobin Rote was their quarterback, had 24 interceptions on the year. They had seven games that season of five or more turnovers in the game. They had nine in one game against the Rams in which they lost 45 to 14. So we highlight the 1950 Green Bay Packers. The committee also highlights Clay Matthews hair, and they say no explanation needed. Here's one that if you're of our ages, you'll know this very well. If not, it is a player known as Charles Martin, started his professional career in the USFL, then played in the CFL before joining the packers in 1984. Now, if you don't know the story of Charles Martin, on November 23rd of 1986, week 12 of the 86 NFL season, the 102 Chicago Bears met the 2 and 10 packers in a regular season game. During pregame warmups, Martin displayed a white hand tile with a list of five Bears offensive player numbers.
Dan Bernstein
I think I can name them.
Co-host/Nick
Okay, tell me who they are.
Dan Bernstein
Number nine, Jim McMahon. I don't need the numbers.
Co-host/Nick
Who else is on the list? Okay, tell me who.
Dan Bernstein
Willie Gault was on the list. 83. I think Peyton was on the list. 34. And believe it or not, number 29, Dennis Gentry.
Co-host/Nick
Correct. Very good. Now this fifth number, you'll never remember Hilgenberg.
Dan Bernstein
It was Hilgeberg.
Narrator/Advertiser
Wow.
Dan Bernstein
How do you remember that it was Hilgenberg?
Co-host/Nick
It was.
Dan Bernstein
Because this stuff is seared. I remember it was 63, right?
Co-host/Nick
Yeah, you're exactly correct. So Jay Hilgenberg. So Martin wrote the towel. Wrote on the towel during the. He wore the towel during the game. Allegedly claimed this was his hit list. So, you know, like how players wear towels around their belts or whatnot. They're in their waist. He has that on with those five numbers. Now, on a third play, third down play, McMahon threw an interception down the field to Mark Lee. After the interception, Martin grabbed McMahon from behind and body slammed him shoulder first and into the ground. McMahon landed full force on his previously injured shoulder. The situation exasperated by soldier Fields artificial turf surface at the time. You know who the referee was, Jerry?
Dan Bernstein
Mark Bright.
Co-host/Nick
Correct. He considered himself lucky to have seen Martin's hit at all. Given his attention, should have been downfield at the interception. After Martin's actions, Bears offensive lineman Jim Covert retaliated against Martin with a late hit of his own and two offsetting flags were thrown. Mark Bright explained, they waived it.
Dan Bernstein
They waived the Jimbo Covert one.
Co-host/Nick
He explained what happened next. After the play, I took a hold of Martin's arm and said, 94. You're out of the game. I'm ejecting you. Martin pulled away from Mark Bright and said, I'm not going anywhere with you. Mark Bright looked at Martin and said, listen, if you don't come with me now, I'm going to let the Bears kill you. Now, let's go. So Mark Bright walked the packers over to the sideline, told Forrest Gregg, who was the head coach, this man's ejected from the game. Mike Ditka ran out of the field demanding an explanation for the two flags having been thrown. The officials decided to pick up the flag for Covert's late hit and penalize only Martin and the Packers. Given the egregiousness of the hit, Mark Bright said in a 2012 interview, it was the most violent act of his day. So Martin was ejected and suspended two games. And it was actually the first time ever a player was ejected and then suspended for games due to on field action. First time it ever happened.
Dan Bernstein
My number eight.
Co-host/Nick
Your number eight. Martin was Charles Martin. Okay, very good. Do you have La Troy Guy in Latroid Guy?
Dan Bernstein
I did not include Latroi Guy on.
Co-host/Nick
La Troy Guy on defensive tackle out of Florida State. He was selected by Minnesota in the fifth round in 2008. He played six seasons with the Vikings before signing with Green Bay in 2014. He had a decent first year with the packers, three and a half sacks. And then legal trouble started for Guyan in 2015. He was arrested twice and then re signed by the team in 2016. So arrested twice, still resigned. He was then cut in August of 2017 after being arrested in June in Hawaii in 2017. In 2021, he was arrested in Green Bay on battery and disorderly conduct charges. So multiple arrests for Latroy Guyon, who makes our list here for the committee. They also mentioned Don Makowski, selected in the 10th round of the 1987 draft from Virginia. Now, he actually wasn't a terrible player.
Dan Bernstein
For after he retired, he tried to strangle a bartender.
Co-host/Nick
Yes. Which is probably what you shouldn't do. You should probably tip them and not strangle them. So he was drafted in 87 from Virginia. Now he played 10 seasons in the NFL, six with Green Bay. And here's why he makes the list. He makes our list today because of his play in 1989, the season where he finished with 4,318 passing yards. So something the Bears quarterback's never done. Also beat the beloved Bears on November 5, 14 to 13. It was Green Bay's first win over Chicago. This is the 89 season. First win for Green Bay over Chicago since the 84 season.
Dan Bernstein
Yeah, those are those, you know, some of the lost years in there. And that was when he was over the line.
Co-host/Nick
Over the line. And then they reviewed it and said he wasn't over the line even though he was over the line.
Dan Bernstein
Check would say over the line.
Co-host/Nick
The packers also beat the Bears that season in 89. In week 15 at Soldier Field, they beat him 40 to 28. So that's why he makes our list. Another highlight here for the committee. Ahmad Carroll. Selected 25th overall in 2004. He was cut in 2006 after a game against Philly. I don't remember this. Greg Lewis burned him twice for two big touchdown plays. He also had three pass interference calls in that game. So gave up two big bombs, three pass interference and he was cut after the game by the team. He went on to play for Jacksonville, the Orlando Predators, the Jets and the Toronto Argonauts. So I was working today, honey.
Dan Bernstein
Not good, not good.
Co-host/Nick
Lost my job. Gave up two touchdowns and three pass interference calls.
Dan Bernstein
Cut after the game.
Co-host/Nick
Another one here for another highlighted player. Jamal Reynolds, Defensive end, Florida state. He was 10th overall in 2001. Packers traded Matt Hasselbeck and the 17th pick to Seattle to move up to 10 to select Reynolds. Now injuries and the play of Kabir Baja Bamilla prevented Reynolds from playing in his first 10 games of his rookie season after.
Dan Bernstein
That's a guy. KGB could be in the list too. That's a guy who's gotten all wacky.
Co-host/Nick
All wacky. But he was a hell of a player though.
Dan Bernstein
Great player but. But has gotten there's.
Co-host/Nick
After two seasons for Reynolds, he had three sacks, played only 13 games. The packers tried to trade him to the Colts, but he failed the physical and he was released by Green Bay. The Browns signed him and then cut him before the start of the season in 2004. Derek Sherrod, Offensive Tackle, Mississippi State. He was selected 32nd overall in 2011. He broke his leg in December of 2011. He missed the entire 2012 season, was waived in November of 2014 and signed by the Chiefs before he was cut in September of 2015. Sherrod started one game in his entire career. First round pick. And these are our final two. These are probably two and one. Then if the committee had to put an order, number two would be Rich Campbell, Quarterback out of Cal.
Dan Bernstein
He was selected not the former Tribune.
Co-host/Nick
Bears Beatriz, Bears beatrizer.
Dan Bernstein
Not our guy.
Co-host/Nick
We love Rich Campbell. Bears beat writer Rich Campbell, the quarterback? Not so much. He was selected sixth overall in 1981 out of Cal packers thought they were getting a franchise quarterback. He played seven games overall with zero starts. He finished his playing career in 1984 with three touchdowns and nine interceptions. So, Dan, this was the 1981 draft. He was selected sixth overall. The next quarterback taken in the draft was drafted 33rd overall. Who's probably the best quarterback in that draft taken? Neil Lomax.
Dan Bernstein
Neil Lomax. Jason Goff's guy.
Co-host/Nick
Jason Goff's guy, 100%.
Dan Bernstein
And if I remember, was he taken out of the Portland State?
Co-host/Nick
I'd have to look that up and see but that. It sounds like it would like a Neil Lomax school. Yeah, he finished with a pretty decent career. Neil Lomax, the 90th pick in that draft. The next quarterback taken. So three quarterbacks taken. The top 90. Number 90 was Tom Flick.
Dan Bernstein
Yes.
Co-host/Nick
Number 96 was Brad Wright. Number 98 was Mark Herman from Denver.
Dan Bernstein
Herman Purdue, right?
Co-host/Nick
Yes, correct. The 210th pick in the draft in 1981 was Minnesota quarterback Wade Wilson.
Dan Bernstein
Deadpool.
Co-host/Nick
Yes. That is a shitty quarterback. Draft, 1981. Holy crap. All right, and then number one for the. The committee, the. Well, the. Or I guess maybe the bottom 10. So you'd be number 10, the worst packer of all time in their consideration. Offensive lineman out of Michigan State, number two overall in 1989, Tony Mandrich. He was considered maybe the best offensive lineman prospect ever. Not just in that draft, but ever. Now he's considered one of the top five biggest draft busts ever. He played six seasons, three with Green Bay, selected immediately after him. Do you know who was selected after Tony Mandridge, 3, 4 and 5 in the draft?
Dan Bernstein
I don't.
Co-host/Nick
Barry Sanders, Derek Thomas, Deion Sanders. Okay, that was 3, 4 and 5 after Tony Mandarin. Picks 11 and 12 that year, 1989. Do you know who they were, your Chicago Bears.
Dan Bernstein
Oh, 11 and 89. Yes, I do. It was in some order, I believe. Trace Armstrong and Donnell Wolford.
Co-host/Nick
Donnell Wolford, 11. Trace Armstrong, 12. Correct. Now, that same draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected Steve Wisniewski, Daryl Johnson and Mark Stepnowski that same.
Dan Bernstein
So those.
Co-host/Nick
All three went on to be Pro bowl players, obviously, but they selected Tony Mandarin, number two overall as an offensive lineman of Michigan out of Michigan State. So that's. The committee's highlighted. Highlighted players. Yes, everyone that we wanted to give you. All right, the Runway. Because I, I knew as I. As I started doing research with the committee on this, I'm like, I know where Bernstein's going to. Because I just Because I know you. And so I was like, I, I've learned your traits here in this research over these top 10 list over the last several weeks. So I wanted to give you the full Runway to get your plane to taxi from the the gate and to take off, my friend.
Dan Bernstein
Yeah, I ended up emerging from this feeling kind of gross.
Co-host/Nick
Say, did you shower afterwards?
Dan Bernstein
Well, okay. Number. Well, it starts out, I would just say honorable mention just to a couple of names, because a younger Dan Bernstein was dismayed Somehow when Jim McMahon and Steve McMichael became Green Bay packers. Certainly over it by the time it was Julius Peppers or Raymond Harris or anybody else or Martellis Bennett, but those two guys.
Co-host/Nick
Oh, that hurt. That was hard.
Dan Bernstein
It just, it still seemed weird that McMahon and McMichael ended up on the packers because of the bad blood that existed between Forrest Gregg and Mike Ditka and all of the things that happened, as you mentioned, first of all, with Charles Martin. But I remember number 10 on my list, Mark Lee. Mark Lee, a cornerback, was known for the time in 85 where he started tackling Walter Payton out of bounds and then never stopped and just kept pushing and pushing and pushing and all the way through all the bodies on the sideline and all the way into a bench and then up and over the bench. And nobody quite understood why he did it, but he just did. And the, the apparent attempt to injure Walter Payton did not sit well. And on the play when Charles Martin body slammed Jim McMahon, it was because of an interception by, by Mark Lee. Mark Lee. Yep. So that's why there were two separate incidents in which he was involved. And he finds himself at number 10 now in the same game as the Walter Payton over the bench incident. We find number nine on our bottom 10 packers list, Ken Stills. Because Ken Stills, in that game, he was a safety. And there was a seemingly innocuous Walter Payton run left out of an offset eye formation for a gain of about 4 yards. And Matt Sui was a blocker on the play. Play is over. They're getting guys out of the pile. And a good three full seconds after the whistle, Ken Stills appears out of nowhere and absolutely blindsides Matt Sooey. And if you watch the YouTube again, I have to admit I laughed out loud because it's so cartoonish. It looks like really something out of Looney Tunes. Just how late and how perfectly violent it is. He just comes out of nowhere and he's just standing there. Nothing's happening. It is so after the play as to be the equivalent of him walking down the street or him standing on a street corner. So, Ken Stills, there's things we're gonna that are gonna certainly make that seem like a nothing in comparison.
Co-host/Nick
Very mild.
Dan Bernstein
And I mentioned number eight was, of course, Charles Martin. And that gets us to number seven. If I say the name Najee Davenport, what do you remember?
Co-host/Nick
I do remember the name. Yeah. I do remember the name. Najee Davenport. Running back. Am I making or is that wrong?
Dan Bernstein
It is correct.
Co-host/Nick
Okay.
Dan Bernstein
Najee Davenport was a running back who began his career with the the Green Bay packers and was a packer for three years. Had a bit of a fumbling problem, and is known, famously, that before he entered the NFL, Davenport broke into the dorm room of a woman at Barry University and he decided to defecate in her laundry basket. Remember this?
Co-host/Nick
I don't.
Dan Bernstein
A woman sleeping in the room told police she was startled by a strange grunting sound.
Co-host/Nick
Was he hammered?
Dan Bernstein
And observed Davenport in a squatted position evacuating his bowels into a laundry hamper in her closet? Evacuating. Evacuate. Everyone out now. It's an evac op. In a plea bargain, his felony charge of second degree burglary and misdemeanor count of criminal mischief, they were both dropped in Exchange for completing 100 hours of community service. And my favorite is he maintained his innocence after the hearing, saying, where is the evidence?
Co-host/Nick
Seriously?
Dan Bernstein
And while playing for the Packers, a portable commode was placed inside of his locker room during training camp as a rookie hazing prank.
Co-host/Nick
That's really good. Well, I mean, we needed to hear his side of the story.
Dan Bernstein
Yeah, of course. Because you just. You never know. But that's number seven, Naje Davenport.
Co-host/Nick
That's really funny.
Dan Bernstein
By the way, if. If you need windows, you got to call Russ Armstrong, because Russ is the owner of Chicago Window Guys, and he's gonna make the windows at his factory here in Chicago. He handles everything. This isn't one of these. These sort of, like, big window things where everything is subcontracted out. It's Russ. It's his company, a Chicago guy with his own people that do all the installations and all the measurements, and his factory here that custom makes your awesome windows. He's done it for me. He's doing it again for me. They just finished my windows are made, and I am all excited because soon they're going to be popped into my home, and then everything's going to be better, and all of my heating and cooling expenses will be lower. They won't know because they use third party subcontracted labor. Russ doesn't. They're his people. They work for him. They work for Chicago window guys. That's Russ. 847-302-9171. He'll give you the best product with the best price guaranteed. Check him out. ChicagoNowInDowGuys.com number six on our list is Amon Green. Okay. Okay. Amon Green was arrested for punching his daughter in a apparently a fit of pique of some kind. And was it eventually pleaded it down to a lesser charge, but originally initially was hit with the felony child abuse arraignment was charges, I should say. And what was said was they the neighbor called police. Green's daughter showed up at their house saying she'd been abused. The girl told police that her father wanted her to do the dishes. She didn't want to do the work. So he pulled her into the kitchen and punched her in the face. So he entered a. An Alford plea to misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to properly property and disorderly conduct. Was convicted of both counts. He maintained his innocence but acknowledged that the prosecution had enough evidence to obtain a conviction. That is number six. And that is a Mon Green. Number five is former Green Bay packers linebacker Mike Neal. Neal was jailed on sexual battery charges. He was charged with sexually battering a woman and filming the crime. He was arrested a week earlier for domestic battery by strangulation against the same victim. And this was this year. This was April 30th of 2025. And I actually don't have the actual adjudication of this or where it's headed. But at the moment, keep an eye on what is happening with Mike Neal, the former packers linebacker. This was all out of Tampa, Florida. And getting this information from the state's attorney's office of the 13th Judicial Circuit.
Co-host/Nick
Number five, we've taken quite the turn from pooping in a hamburger.
Dan Bernstein
Oh, I told you this is gonna get ugly.
Co-host/Nick
I know.
Dan Bernstein
Number four, Mossy Cade.
Co-host/Nick
Okay.
Dan Bernstein
Mossy Cade was a Green bay packer in 1985 and 1986 and he was jailed for raping his aunt.
Co-host/Nick
Oh, boy.
Dan Bernstein
He was convicted in 1987 of two counts of second degree sexual assault. He was sentenced to two years in prison. Paroled in October of 1988 after serving 15 months in Fox Lake Correctional institution. He then was sued after his conviction in civil court and later accused of perjury because his testimony during the trial differed with that during the sentencing hearing. Upon release, he was waived by the packers and then immediately signed by the Minnesota Vikings.
Guest/Caller
No way.
Dan Bernstein
Yep.
Narrator/Advertiser
Wow.
Dan Bernstein
And then the NFL said no, he's not reinstated and he would never be allowed to play as long as Pete Roselle was commissioner. And even when Paul Tagliabu replaced Roselle, Cade was treated although he were banned from football. And he was never reinstated. But the Vikings tried.
Co-host/Nick
All right. Good job, Minnesota. Yeah.
Dan Bernstein
Hey. All right.
Co-host/Nick
And only 15 months.
Dan Bernstein
Now that's number three on the bottom 10 packers or the top 10 worst packers. LaShawn Johnson.
Co-host/Nick
Sean Johnson.
Dan Bernstein
LaShawn Johnson from Northern Illinois, a running back. I don't know if you know how things ended up for lashawn Johnson because he is. This is still currently working its way through the system. Lashawn Johnson was convicted this last August.
Co-host/Nick
Yeah, okay.
Dan Bernstein
On six federal felony counts related to operating a large scale dog fighting and trafficking venture in Oklahoma.
Co-host/Nick
How I remember that now.
Dan Bernstein
Yeah, how large scale? Authorities seized 190 dogs from his property. The largest number ever seized from a single individual in a federal dog fighting case. He was found guilty by a federal jury after a multi day trial of six felony counts for violations of the Animal Welfare act, possessing, selling, transporting and delivering animals to be used in fighting ventures. He selectively bred and trafficked champion and grand champion fighting dogs, profiting from selling the dogs and the stud rights to other dog fighters around the country. He had a prior state conviction for dog fighting in 2004, for which he received a five year deferred sentence and avoided prison time. He faces significant penalties. He is still due to be sentenced up to five years in federal prison for each of the six counts. Number three on Bad Packers, LaShawn Johnson.
Co-host/Nick
Famously of the 2001 Chicago Enforcers XFL team.
Dan Bernstein
And wasn't Steve McMichael the coach of that.
Co-host/Nick
Oh, I think you're right.
Dan Bernstein
Actually, I think he was. Now I'm sure you know who number two and number one are now that we know the direction that we're going. Right? Right.
Co-host/Nick
Let's see.
Dan Bernstein
Number two, Darren Sharper.
Co-host/Nick
Oh yeah.
Dan Bernstein
Who of course would have been a Hall of Famer. He, Darren Sharper was convicted in in multiple courts and on multiple counts of a multi state rape spree where he was drugging and raping Women for years. 2011, 2013, 2014. He has been prosecuted in the state of California. He has been prosecuted in the state of Louisiana. He has been prosecuted in the state of Arizona and the state of Nevada. He has been sentenced in multiple states and federally. He is currently imprisoned at the federal prison in Elkton, Ohio, which is a low security federal prison for male inmates.
Co-host/Nick
Not far enough.
Dan Bernstein
He is still scheduled to be released in late 2028.
Co-host/Nick
Wow.
Dan Bernstein
Now, they say court records listed a total of nine victims of Darren Sharper, but according to the federal judge, there may be as many as 16 victims. So still imprisoned, who likely would have been a Hall of Fame, maybe still will be at some point a Hall of Fame player, that is former Packer safety Darren Sharper.
Co-host/Nick
All right, let's give Steven Michael his due credit, though, because he was the head coach from 2007 to 2013 for the indoor Football League team, Chicago Slaughter.
Dan Bernstein
Okay, thank you. Thank you. Now, the bottom Packer of all time.
Co-host/Nick
Oh, boy.
Dan Bernstein
Randall Brent Woodfield, also known as the i5 killer or the i5 bandit.
Co-host/Nick
Oh, boy.
Dan Bernstein
Due to the crimes he committed along the i5 corridor running through Washington, Oregon, and California.
Co-host/Nick
I'm sorry, but Bandit and Killer are two very different things.
Dan Bernstein
Correct.
Co-host/Nick
Okay.
Dan Bernstein
Although only convicted of one murder, he's been linked to a total of 18 murders and is suspected. He is suspected of having killed up to 44 people. No way.
Co-host/Nick
This is a Packer.
Dan Bernstein
A native of Oregon, Randall Woodfield, the third child of a prominent Newport family, began to exhibit abnormal behaviors during his teenage years and was arrested for indecent exposure while still in high school. He was a wide receiver for the aforementioned Portland State Vikings. He was drafted by the Green bay Packers in 1974. He was cut from the team during training camp after a series of indecent exposure arrests.
Co-host/Nick
Keep himself covered. Okay.
Dan Bernstein
Okay. This. This is my favorite part of that sentence. He was cut by the packers during training camp after a. After a series of indecent. Not one. He wasn't cut after one. He wouldn't cut after two. How many do you need? He was a 17th round pick. He was 428th overall. How many indecent exposure arrests does a 17th pick round need to get cut?
Co-host/Nick
Well, you get. You get five and then. And then.
Dan Bernstein
Is that what it is?
Co-host/Nick
Yeah, the six is too much. And it's like. Is he exposing himself to, like, staffers, the workers? Is it just people in the grocery store, like, driving down the highway with his dong hanging out? Like, what's. What's he doing?
Dan Bernstein
I don't know. I don't know. He has been linked via DNA and other methods to numerous unsolved Homicides in the ensuing decades after he began his spree in 1975. A string of robberies and sexual assaults committed at knifepoint. Multiple murders in cities along the I5 corridor. Arrested in March of 1981. Convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment plus 90 years in a subsequent trial. Convicted of sodomy and improper use of a weapon. He has never confessed to any of the crimes. And the Wikipedia page is a thing with all of the various composites of the drawings of what people described him looking like. The multiple trials. He is serving his sentences at the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem and they keep discovering victims because of DNA testing.
Co-host/Nick
Wow.
Dan Bernstein
During his time in the penitentiary, he's been married three times and divorced twice.
Co-host/Nick
Well, at least that third one stuck. Hey. So the 1974 NFL Draft took place in the Americana Hotel in New York City, January 29th and 30th. So it's two days. Each of the 26 NFL teams were granted 17 selections for a total of 442 picks. Could you imagine covering that? 26 teams with 17 picks each.
Dan Bernstein
All right, he was the 428th pick of 442. So that's like double the size. Obviously.
Co-host/Nick
That's insane.
Dan Bernstein
Like now that's what, 200 some players.
Co-host/Nick
Number one pick that year was Ed Tutal Jones out of Tennessee State.
Dan Bernstein
I don't want to drag his name into this, but just think of that.
Co-host/Nick
Sorry, Ed.
Dan Bernstein
See, 428 out of 442 and still in that year's training camp. He needed to be arrested multiple times for indecent exposure before the packers got rid of him.
Co-host/Nick
Good grief, man.
Dan Bernstein
So there it is. That is your number one all time worst Green Bay Packer, the i5 killer. Give it up for Randall Woodfield. That's what I got for you.
Co-host/Nick
My goodness, man. The 17th round of this draft.
Dan Bernstein
Jesus. Yup.
Co-host/Nick
Chicago Bears. Selected quarterback, Texas. Arlington. Craig Holland, 420th overall. Could you imagine being a reporter and being there to cover it for two days?
Dan Bernstein
They probably didn't cover it. You covered a couple. Maybe you covered a couple picks. They're just sitting in a smoke filled ballroom somewhere in an airport Hyatt. You know, it's, it's.
Co-host/Nick
Wait, when, when did ESPN go on the air? They were around in 74, right? Or was that after.
Dan Bernstein
No, no, it was the very. It was a late 70s because.
Co-host/Nick
Because they, they definitely. They would have covered this if they were round.
Dan Bernstein
They. Well, they did.
Co-host/Nick
Chris Berman, when they would have put him up on stage. Gone.
Dan Bernstein
I could go all the way. I don't. They did cover the. When they first started. They did do that.
Co-host/Nick
But why couldn't we been born in the 50s? We'd have been drafted by somebody in 400 picks.
Dan Bernstein
It's amazing, isn't it?
Co-host/Nick
Can you walk and talk? I can.
Dan Bernstein
You're drafted. Look at the NP NBA draft. That's even more. If you played college basketball at all and you had both of your legs. If you had all your limbs and played four years of college basketball, there was a good chance you were getting drafted.
Co-host/Nick
Good God. This 74 draft was.
Dan Bernstein
God, y'. All.
Co-host/Nick
Dude, listen. Jack Lambert, Mike Webster, Lynn Swan, John Stallworth and Donnie Shell.
Dan Bernstein
How many hall of Famers is that?
Co-host/Nick
Jesus. All of them were.
Dan Bernstein
I don't. Was Donny Shell a Hall of Famer?
Co-host/Nick
Yes.
Dan Bernstein
All in 74. Yes.
Co-host/Nick
They drafted five hall of Fame players. Jack Lambert, Mike Webster, Lynn Swan, John Stallworth, and Donnie Shell. Jesus. Who was the winner and losers of this year's draft?
Dan Bernstein
Steelers did.
Co-host/Nick
Okay.
Dan Bernstein
I give the Steelers an eight minus because I think they drafted in five hall of Famers. Is that right?
Co-host/Nick
Yes. I hope. I hope that general manager got a raise.
Dan Bernstein
Is that when the Bears got Wally Chambers, who was at the very top of that draft for the bears in the first round? Yeah.
Co-host/Nick
See, let me go back up.
Dan Bernstein
Yeah. 74. I was just at Jones again. I wasn't quite following, too, because Peyton was 74.
Martha Stewart
5.
Co-host/Nick
So here's your top five. Ed Jones, Bull Matthews, the Chargers. John Hicks for the Giants. Waymond Bryant. Bryant, linebacker, Tennessee State.
Dan Bernstein
Waymond Bryant, number 50 before Mike Singletary. Waymond Bryant. Or as Doug Buffone tells the story. He thought he had a speech impediment. He thought his name was Raymond. Raymond. And he said Waymond. That's cute.
Co-host/Nick
Yeah.
Dan Bernstein
All buddy.
Co-host/Nick
I just.
Dan Bernstein
I just thought he. I thought he couldn't sing his arse. He introduced my name. He said, my name's Waymond. He was trying to be nice about it because he thought his name was Raymond.
Co-host/Nick
Oh, man.
Dan Bernstein
Waymond Bryant. Yeah. Bad. Really bad.
Narrator/Advertiser
Just.
Co-host/Nick
Yeah. Lynn Swan was selected 21st overall.
Dan Bernstein

Co-host/Nick
All right, so here's what I'm going to tell you. I have three games for you. And I'm not saying do these as a parlay. You do with these whatever you want. But these are three games that stood out to me. Number one meatball pick is Bears minus two. Bears are going to are going to win this game by more than two. So we're going flipped. Yeah, it did flip because they were. They were getting a point or a point and a half.
Dan Bernstein
No, they were three point dogs in the look ahead line.
Co-host/Nick
Geez.
Dan Bernstein
Yeah.
Co-host/Nick
So now they're minus two. So we're doing that. Bears are going to win by more than two these two games. Then you do what you want with these. You want to put them together or you want to play them separate or pick one. We're going to go with Cleveland plus ten and a half and then Pittsburgh, my favorite one. Pittsburgh plus seven. They're playing at Detroit, but Pittsburgh plus seven. So where's Cleveland? Cleveland. Hang on. I knew you were going to ask that and I deleted my. Well, if it's plus 10, I know bills. Okay, so it's Cleveland plus 10 and a half hosting the Bills and then Pittsburgh at Detroit +7, Bears +2. So that's what I'm doing this weekend. Not all together and playing them separate. And then you do what you want with those. But Cleveland plus ten and a half. Pittsburgh plus seven. Bears minus two.
Dan Bernstein
All right, I am going to give you, as I often do, a couple of props that have caught my eye for Bears and Packers. I like Caleb Williams over passing yards of 209.5. You're telling me there's no Micah Parsons and all he needs is 210 passing yards at home. Weather supposed to be pretty good. I'm going with it. And I believe enough of those passing yards will put DeAndre Swift over his total of receiving yards of 14.5. That's one screen pass. That's what the the over under for DeAndre Swift. 14, not 40.
Co-host/Nick
14.
Dan Bernstein
14 and a half. So especially down two wide outs and Micah Parsons out and with all the stuff I think they can be doing formationally, absolutely. I'll take DeAndre Swift over that 14 and a half and Caleb Williams over 209.5. And those are my DBU picks. Lock in your picks now with my bookie. Bet on anything, anywhere, anytime and that will do it for Dan Bernstein. Unfiltered we have forward progress that's going to be coming up to get in a bunch of X's and O's. Co-host/Nick
