It's like somebody unearthed the fact that, you know, he's still on the Auburn payroll while having thoughts about college basketball. If that is your threshold for being angry about corruption or double dealing or self enrichment or something that should disqualify you from a position of authority, you might want to recalibrate some things.

I've seen a lot of results. And I, for it always is much more likely to screw up any bracket thoughts for me. Maybe you learn more than I do because you're smarter about college basketball than I am. And that is certainly possible, if not probable, but I just tend to ignore it and see who's healthy, who the coach is, what the history is with these teams. And then once you look at the draw, give yourself a nice clean slate. And I always say, don't fight the hand. It's a Ouija board. You let your hand go where it wants, you let it write whatever it wants to write. Just dissociate yourself. And then you'll look at it and you'll say, well, what did my hand fill in? And then you'll figure it out.

Yeah. I watched Purdue, Michigan yesterday and watched Vanderbilt, Arkansas, that was a fun game until the final, like three or four minutes. It was back and forth, I think 12, 13 lead changes. And then Vanderbilt just couldn't, they couldn't hit a basket for the final eight minutes of the game.

But as mentioned, what I'm watching more closely than anything else today is the results of the examinations on Seiya Suzuki. I imagine there's. They're going to get their hands on him. There's going to be imaging. I did not like the way he limped off the field. Correct. And this is, this is not great because this is. You're talking about a drop off if he's got to come out of the lineup for any significant amount of time. He is projected to be approximately a three win player this year and part of that is the expectation of his defensive shortcomings being exposed because he's not a very good defensive player at this point last year he was a negative 13.2 defensive runs above average and that is what dragged his war down. So the more he plays on defense, the lower his value is going to be. Despite it expected WRC plus of around 125. So you're going to miss that bat if he's going to be out for a bit and you can go through all of the other outfield names, whoever it's going to be. And people are saying, well I'd love to have Owen Casey around right now. Well no, you made the move knowing these things can happen. And you know when people go to the WBC that look both teams here. If you're waiting for something to be able to challenge a call, go out and score more fucking runs. I mean, you had 15 home runs in six games. You, you scored 50 runs in like five games. Score more. Just don't make people dumber. He actively, actively goes out of his way to make you dumber about baseball. He wants to drag you down to his subterranean level of baseball understanding. If you actually go through and listen to just last night. Just last night, home runs are bad, right? You don't want. Home runs are bad. Swinging hard. You don't want Vladimir Guerrero trying to lift and drive. He said he does not want that. I don't want. He said, I don't want Vladimir Guerrero to. Trying to lift and drive the ball. Right?

It makes it sound like he's saying things that are important. And by the time he's done with the thought, he's, he's. It makes no sense. He said it. He goes, and there were several. Just last night he was launching into thing because, well, you get the first out and you get the second out and that's when you run into trouble. And he starts talking and he's talking, he's talking. And then. So Joe Davis says, so how does one remedy that? He goes, well, you gotta get that third out. Like that's what all that was like that entire exchange during multiple pitches. You want to get the first two outs and then words and words and words and words. And the play by play guy says, well, so. Because, so you got to get that third out. Oh, let me, let me write that down. So balls in play, inherently good. Solo home runs bad. Then he says, what you say about all these. These pitchers today were throwing so hard and they throw hard and that they might strike out 10 guys in five innings, but the guys that go longer are going to be more valuable. Do the math, right, dude. If a guy strikes out 10 in five innings, that's a Cy Young candidate.

Right? And then he talked about how the guys that throw hard, their mechanics throw their body out of alignment so, so drastically that the guys that don't throw as hard make better infielders. You said, just read the book. I read it on Saturday. And I hope the movie's better than the book, because the book is. Meh. How do I say this? First of all, this is nothing against it. I'm pretty sure you said it. It's nothing against your recomm. I appreciate you recommending it to me, and I didn't quit on it. I did read it, but I don't think Andy Weir is that good a writer. It's not natural. The plot is interesting. I love the science stuff. I get a real kick out of all of these little asides and problem solving and the physics formulas and the ideal gas constant. And I like all that stuff. I really do. And I can nerd out with it. The problem is I don't like the protagonist in this book, and I know he was trying to save the human race. I don't like the human race all that much either, is another problem. I was kind of like, you know, don't worry about it, man. This is. This is meant to be. And I think it's fine. I just. The guy is kind of a. Kind of a wiener. And the story is corny. There's all sorts of deus ex machina plot points. You can kind of hear the keyboard clicking. The way some of the writing works, it doesn't flow naturally. It's a cute little family friendly story. But there's a possibility that the movie could be better than the book because maybe Ryan Gosling will make me like Ryland Grace, the protagonist more because I really don't want to spend that much time around the guy. I found him annoying. I found the protagonist annoying, and I found the writing voice annoying. And maybe it's not Andy Weir. Maybe it's Andy Weir because it's in the first person. So he may be writing in the voice and thoughts of this protagonist who I don't like and just got a little tired of being around. But there are some clever things. There are some descriptive things. And like I say, if you're into these science problems, some of that's really cool. Just. There was. There was. They elided a lot of plot points, and you just have to take for granted some of the things that happened. But don't let my middling to negative review scare you off of recommending books.

I watched it in the theater. I watched it at home once. The fact that it was nominated for a Best Picture was kind of surprising to me as well.

Oh, am I supposed to stand here now? Oh, was it. No, he was pissed he was being a prick, I thought. And I was like, hey, man, just. It's okay. It's an award show. We understand it's going to be a little raggedy sometimes, but I just thought that was. He was. He was getting pretty unhappy with the way he was being directed and the timing of everything. And then there was one of the winners, this poor guy, like with K Pop Demon Hunters wins. And the guy was about to talk and they play him off and then they got time for all these, these other speeches that were just bombs. The, the whole Robert Downey Jr. Chris Evans thing bombed. Bill Pullman and his kid bombed.

Oh, yeah, I didn't see that. I flipped back over just in time to see Downey and Evans and it was bad. It was really, really bad. The K Pop Demon Hunters. It was the second woman that spoke that they played. She started speaking. They played the music really loud. And then she was like, oh, okay. And then her friend was like, good, just keep talking. So she kept talking and so she got her whole speech in, which was nice. But yeah, the Downey Jr. Thing and Evans thing was, was real bad.

I thought Will Arnett and Channing Tatum were good. That was funny. That was. That was funny. But, but I also like a lot of the presentations. I would prefer, I think more times than not just walk up and do the, the, the, like the nominations because like the, the dialogue stuff generally isn't very funny. I thought Anne Hathaway and that woman from Vogue, I thought that was pretty good actually.

And a wind tour. The actor, the actual Anna win tour. Yes.

Yeah, they very, they limited all she said and she was just really snarky and mean. So that was. It worked really well. But I missed the Conan being a prick. I thought the opening thing was really funny with all the different best nominated films. And he looked like Amy Madigan from Weapons.

I wonder if it's the same person because there are some unbelievably talented photographers doing some of this Work. And while they're being choreographed, here's the photog in this huge harness carrying this massive camera, having to make sure everything is absolutely perfect. Walking forwards, backwards, moving around. And you talk about the talent on display. Whoever did the camera for that is just a remarkable talent. Talent.
