Sorry, guys. I was just scrolling and drinking my Hailey Bieber smoothie that I saw on TikTok. Because it is TikTok night and it starts right now. All right, everybody, welcome back to another episode of the Dancing with the Stars official podcast. The competition is heating up. Jordan, Ezra, and Whitney and Mark have landed themselves at the top of the leaderboard. And unfortunately, Lauren and Brandon were eliminated tonight. They'll be stopping by to chat with me in just a bit. Exclusively right here. And in just a bit, I'll be chatting with Brian Baker, who's gone viral on TikTok recently for his unique critiques from his couch at home. I guarantee you won't want to miss this. But first, here to chat with me is someone uniquely qualified to dive into the theme of this week. With over 155 million followers, she's one of the most followed creators on TikTok. She's also the 2022 Dance with the Stars champion. And now even a Broadway star. Guys, it's our very own Charli d'. Amelio. Hi, Charli.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Hello.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
How you doing?
Charli D'Amelio
I'm good. How are you?
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I'm doing great. I'm excited that you're here.
Charli D'Amelio
I'm excited to be here.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Before I get into tonight, the first thing we have to talk about is you crushed it tonight. How was it? How was it dancing again in the ballroom?
Charli D'Amelio
That was crazy. I got to LA like, two days ago. Nice to learn all of this. So that was a lot. Also, of course, what went viral was the one dance style I didn't do during the show, which was great. But, you know, you get back and dancing with Mark, it's like no time passed.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
That's such a good feeling to have. So you didn't do a samba during your season? No, I thought you guys did. Okay, we need to talk about that. Cause that's crazy. So you didn't even learn technique for samba until two days ago?
Charli D'Amelio
Well, I learned. I learned. I started my dance with Mark yesterday.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
It took me, like, six days to learn a samba and I got like eights or sevens. It wasn't even good. And you did it in a day.
Charli D'Amelio
Oh, my gosh. It was. It was there.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
It was bouncing. It was there. Thank you, Charlie. You're pissing me off. You're gonna take away my trophy from me? The fact that you learned a samba in one day.
Charli D'Amelio
I might. But that. No, I would never.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Oh, my God. I don't even know what my next question is. I'm uncomfortable now. That's crazy.
Charli D'Amelio
It's all Mark. He's like. He's such a good teacher. And Mark's. He makes it easy.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Come on, let's be honest. That's not Mark. All right, I'm moving on because I'm uncomfortable. Now, getting into tonight's show, let's talk about the people that are still in it. Who were you excited to see tonight? What were your feelings when you were back in the ballroom and seeing all these performances?
Charli D'Amelio
Oh, my gosh, it is such a stacked season. I really got to elimination. I was like, I have no idea how this is going to go at all. Obviously, Mark and Whitney, they're gotta. Gotta support. Those are my family. You know, I will love them. She's amazing. I really like her. Robert and Whitney are so fun to watch. I mean, honestly, I feel like it's literally everyone.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
It's a stacked cast. There was a theme tonight about technique. I feel like, especially comparison to week two, to week three, the judges upped the technique and, like, the pretty much the feedback on it. What were your thoughts on that? Because you obviously were on the show for the entire time. You know how these dances are and how they critique certain things. What'd you think about that with the judges tonight?
Charli D'Amelio
I love it. As someone who I feel like when I came into the show, I wanted to learn what's the proper way to do it. If someone who knows ballroom watches this, they'd be like, okay, she's getting there. She's understanding it. I feel like there's two ways to go about things. You either can learn a dance or learn how to do the style of dance. And it's interesting. Everyone has their own ways of going about things, and I think that's what makes the show so beautiful. You get to see some people have danced before, they have some rhythm. Some people know how to do the face and be there. Cause they did movies or tv, but the body stuff doesn't come as fast or they maybe don't pick up choreography. Everyone has their thing that sets them back and they have to work on. And that's the beauty of the journey.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
There was a few dances in Frame tonight. Was there anyone you were really surprised by in the technique version of it for you?
Charli D'Amelio
Oh, my gosh, it is. Literally. It being week three is so crazy because these feel like dances from week six, seven. That's. That's what I feel like makes the difference. It's so fun. And it's so fun to see everyone find because, you know, you work through frame and frame is different depending on what you're doing. But once you get it, I mean, it's. Get your elbow up, you know, you have to do it.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
And yeah, a lot of the conversations tonight, I mean, Dylan was someone especially. They talked about with how strong again, a score. That was his highest score yet because it was his first dance in frame.
Charli D'Amelio
And dancing with a powerhouse like Daniela, that's crazy.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
To be able to lead her the way he did was so impressive.
Charli D'Amelio
Yeah.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
All right, well, it was TikTok night tonight, and it was fitting that you were here because you are still one of the most followed tiktokers that we've had on the entire show.
Charli D'Amelio
That's crazy.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
How does that feel for you, the fact that you have that, like, that following? And how was it for you to come back for a night like this?
Charli D'Amelio
It's wild to see the difference. When I was announced to be on the show, a lot of the talks were like, oh, why is the TikTok girl on Dancing with the Stars? Like, Dancing with the Stars is that girl, you know, and to see now that they're doing a TikTok night. And it was honestly nice for me to sit back and watch and kind of see it from a different perspective of like, this is really cool. This is a really cool thing that you've gotten to be able to do. The fact that I'm here doing this is because of TikTok. Everything that I've been able to do since I started TikTok has gotten me there. And I feel like I've gotten to achieve all of my dreams and more. And that's because of that. It's just. It changes people's lives. I was. No one knew who I was at all before TikTok, and now I get to do things like this.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
What a full circle moment. How did you use social media when you were on the show?
Charli D'Amelio
I didn't.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
That's crazy.
Charli D'Amelio
They would come in and be like, are you guys going to, like, post any videos? I was like, I. That's totally. They totally chose me thinking, like, yeah, she's going to be so on it. I was awful. I'd get in Rehearsal. I was never on my phone because I was like, I'm here. I'm a student. I need to just do what I need to do. I have a jive to do. I don't have time for TikToks right now. But as a viewer, now I see how everyone else does it. It's so interesting. I'm so locked in. I get a show every day because I get to see the inside scoop of your package is only so long. You can only fit so much in there. And I'm falling in love with these couples. From a viewer perspective, it's just so special. And I honestly wish I would have done it more. Wish I took more videos and more photos, because there's nothing like competing on Dancing with the Stars at all.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Yeah. And I love that you touched on that. Cause that is my favorite part is how it's almost a continuation of the package every week is what socials have become. You talked about how stacked this cast is, and I think a lot of it is because some of them really did come in with dance experience. That was a big thing for you when you came on the show. People said, wow, she has so much dance experience. Can you talk a little bit about how different it is to have dance experience and ballroom dance experience? Because I don't think people get that differential.
Charli D'Amelio
Yeah, it's a lot of. I grew up competing in dance, and dance has always been my favorite thing. It's what makes me me. That's how I feel my best. Whenever I'm dancing, I just turn into a different person. Ballroom dancing, I've had to unlearn so much because a lot of it's so opposite. You're also dancing with someone. I've had to do that in whole that you're right here, and we're in this together. Like, you got me. I got you. I. If I step wrong, you're gonna have to be there, and we just counteract. It's such a puzzle. And I just. I've never done anything like this, but I'm someone. I love to learn. I love to learn new styles of dance. I think that there's something so interesting, especially when you think about, where does this come from? The culture, the. I. We'll never forget. During our paso doble, we did a little bit of flamenco in the beginning, and Mark was playing the flamenco guitar. And then I went home, and I'm just. I'm such a studier. I love to watch dance. So I went home and I watched everything, and I was like, this Is just the way that they do it and the way that you can feel it. I even. I think about this a lot with, like, watching the pro numbers. I'll go back and I watch our season. Sasha and Daniella did a number. She's wearing this black cat suit. And I will go and watch. Watch her dance. And there's just no way that without so much training, I could ever, ever look like that. Like, the way she moves is just every single body part. And you can see it. These girls are so muscular. You see their back is engaged the entire time they're dancing. It is so hard. This show was one of the hardest things I've ever done. It was so hard on my body. It was so hard mentally. You're, like beating yourself up. Why don't I get this? This is crazy. What am I doing? I'm going home. And then you leave and you get to see it all and you remember all of the good times and all of the nights where you were like, no, let's do it again. We gotta get it right. We gotta do this. It's gonna be great.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
And like you said, the levels to it, right? We get better when we're on the show. And I think it's amazing these people have dance experience. Cause it allows them to even get better than maybe someone that doesn't. Yeah, but there's levels. No matter what, you need to improve through this show. Because you can see how these pros, when they have someone that has dance experience, they also dance a little differently. I love seeing the pros giving it more and giving it their all because they're expecting their partner to keep up.
Charli D'Amelio
Of course. I mean, even for me, I grew up dancing, but I'm a very internal dancer. I like a sad contemporary where I'm dancing to myself. Dancing out is so challenging for me. I'm so nervous, and I can't. So to be there and the way that they do the facials and you see all of it, that was a big challenge for me. That was something that I learned, and I kind of grew. I was 18 when I did the show, which is insane. Feels like yesterday. But I was. I didn't know anything about myself, and I got to learn because I had to stare at myself in the mirror and be like, no, you gotta do it. You gotta do it. You gotta be in it. You gotta make yourself uncomfortable to be comfortable and look good, you know? This show changed my life, and I will say that forever. It taught me so much. This was my high school. I didn't Finish high school. So this was my high school experience, and I learned more about myself and my relationship with dance than I have in any other time in my life.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
That's so special. We gotta talk about you and Mark because you're one of my favorite partnerships. I'm sure we don't have enough time to talk about how much you love Mark, but please just fill in a little more how great it was to dance with him tonight, how great it was to see him, and how you guys relationship has evolved since the show.
Charli D'Amelio
Yeah, Mark is. Mark is special. There is just something about him. I. From our. We had like one rehearsal where I like, opened up a little bit because I was very shy when I started. I was like looking at the floor, like, just tell me what to do and I'll do it.
Brian Baker
I don't know.
Charli D'Amelio
I don't know anything. And I wouldn't give any facials or anything until it was time for the show. And I'd walk out there, I'd do my thing and I'd be like, okay, okay. Like, was it. Was it okay? I'd be so nervous, and Mark brought out such a different side of me. And I would be freaking out. I'd be shaking. I'd be like about to throw up. And then we'd like catch hands and you just. You feel the tension between you two. And it's just. Everyone leaves. Everyone leaves, and it's just us. I've never felt that way dancing with. He is such an icon. The fact that he even is back now and I'm getting to see him create and see him put together, pieced together. Cause it's everything. He was like, the costumes, this is. No, she doesn't like dancing in that. She's not doing that. We're gonna do it this way. She's like, you'll notice I only wore my hair down for the first week. I like to dance my hair back. He. I would never, ever say that. They'd say, you want a blowout? And I'd be like, of course, yeah, whatever you want me to do. He's like, no, she wants to wear her hair back. Let her do that. He was that person. So I just got to focus on the dancing. And that was it. That was it.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I don't think people understand how many hats the pros actually wear. And like you said, the little details. It's not just the fact that they choreograph. The fact that they're there every week making sure that you're singing how to do the songs. Exactly.
Charli D'Amelio
He's on editing in his studio.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
It's crazy.
Charli D'Amelio
Insane.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
What Mark does is unreal. And I think we're all so excited to see him back on the show. I'm sure you're a little. Just a smidge jealous.
Charli D'Amelio
Just honestly, I was like, am I going to be a little bit jealous? But then I met Whitney and she. I feel like we're very similar. And it just. The three of us, I love it. Them together, I think, where I tend to be a little bit more serious and nervous. She's fun. And I feel like seeing his face when he's dancing, you could just tell he's having so much fun. And that's just perfect. It's so perfect. And, like, his son is gonna get to see him.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
It's amazing. He told me that the first time. I didn't even think about that. That was one of the main reasons. If you guys didn't know. One of the main reasons that Mark came back was because he wanted to dance for his son.
Charli D'Amelio
Like, that's so special.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
What is one of your favorite performances that you did with Mark? I'm sure there's, like, too many to think of, but if you had to give one.
Charli D'Amelio
Ooh. I went back and watched this past week because I was like, I gotta know. What did I do that I didn't like? So I don't do it again. And I went back and watched all of them. First of all, so many of them bring me to tears. Like, still to this day, I think our Contemporary Arvinies waltz, our paso doble was really fun. That was fun. That one was cute.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I love dancing Aposto.
Charli D'Amelio
That one. You see me at the end. And everyone was asking about this because they're like, why does she look so nervous to hug Carrie Anne? I was trying so hard not to throw up. I was like, you see my face just goes white. And I was like, now you wanna hug? I'm gonna throw up on you. This is so scary. But it's such a good one. And that was scary. I fell during the dress rehearsal for that. I slipped on my dress. Feet came out from under me. So going into that, I was really nervous. And then I watch it back so good.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Okay, well, you did bring up one of the dances that I wanna talk about. Cause it's one of my favorite things that I look back on. On the show. You talked about the Viennese Waltz. It came also on our season because when they did the celebration show, they brought back some dances.
Charli D'Amelio
I met Steven today.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Steven and Riley got a Chance to do your dance. One of my favorite things in that dance is it went viral too, is there's a slow mo when you were going across the judges table and you see the brightness on Len's face. And I want to read some of the comments that he made when you. When. Because you were on the last season that he was on, and he said that you made him smile. You took his breath away when you were dancing. You sent chills down his spine. Like, these are incredible things for him to say about you in his last season. How does that feel to look back and know that you made him that proud?
Charli D'Amelio
I. From the first episode, I was like, I. My goal, I want to impress Len. That's. He's tough. You. He's gonna give it to you straight up. He can like you and you can do a good job, but you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing. And that was something that I thought about the entire time. And to be his final winner after such a legacy was so special. And I know exactly what video you're talking about. Just, like, to think that that was even me that he said that to is so crazy. And he's such an icon in the things that he's done in the dance world within the show is so special. I was in awe from the first day, and to be able to take that with me for the rest of my life is insane.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
And I can let you know you definitely impressed him because I held onto this one because he said no words could describe how good he thought you were. That was one of his comments.
Charli D'Amelio
That's crazy.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
So that lets you know you definitely impressed.
Charli D'Amelio
It means the world. It really does. And, like, my little dancer heart, it's just. I'm a very scared dancer, and I always quit when I get nervous, and I've hated that I do that because I always come back because I love it and it's in my soul. And for him to be able to see that, it's just. He doesn't say it if he doesn't mean it. And that means so much.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Yeah.
Charli D'Amelio
Ugh, my God.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
That's amazing. Charlie. I would be wrong not to pull out my phone right now and take a TikTok while you're here. We need help to keep promoting this page. Make sure you guys go and check it out right now on the Dance with the Stars TikTok. And stick around, because joining me next is Brian Baker, who has gone viral with his very interesting thoughts on Dancing with the Stars. He'll be giving his Recap on tonight's performances.
Charli D'Amelio
Adjective used to describe an individual whose spirit is unyielding, unconstrained. One who navigates life on their own terms, effortlessly. They do not always show up on time, but when they arrive, you notice an individual confident in their contradictions. They know the rules, but behave as if they do not exist. New teen, the new fragrance by Miu Miu. Defined by you, the new Popeyes and hot Ones menu is the definition of fire flavor. We've got the sizzling Sriracha dippers. 10 out of 10. I love the spice level Attempt the Popeyes on hot Ones menu in stores. Our hottest collaboration yet. Love that Got chicken from Popeyes. Limited time in participating US restaurants.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Like a lot of you, my TikTok feed has been completely taken over by Dancing with the Stars these days. And someone who keeps popping up on my page with his very unique recaps is Brian Baker. Take a look.
Brian Baker
All right, straight white guy thoughts. Dancing with Stars, episode one, Robert Irwin. I was not familiar with your game, my brother. That was legit. I mean, when they told me you were doing the jive for your first dance, I was like, oh, this is going to be brutal, because that's a tough dance. I don't know anything about dance, but they said it was a tough dance. I got chills watching that. You killed that.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Brian. What's up, dude?
Brian Baker
What's up, man? How you doing?
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I'm good. I'm. I'm stoked you were here. I can't even. I can't even explain it enough because I love what you're doing. Can you. Can you talk a little bit about how all this started, how this, like, TikTok trend came in with these recaps?
Brian Baker
For sure. Honestly, I got to give most of the credit to you. I kind of started watching last season because I was such a big fan of yours in the Bachelor.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
My guy.
Brian Baker
I heard you were going on, and I was like, I guess I got to tune in. Hey, I don't want to give away too much, but when I saw you week one dance, I was texting some people. I was like, I think he's got a shot.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Hey, this guy knows ball. I know Ball. Apparently, I just love because it happened like you said on the Bachelor. There were so many people that would watch the show, and they would always be like, yeah, man, my girlfriend loves the show. Like, that's the reason why I'm watching it. The reason why I think it's blowing up so much with your, you know, straight white guy recaps is because of the fact that you're owning that you love this show.
Brian Baker
Yeah, I mean, it definitely subverts your expectations when I pop on your screen and you think this guy's going to talk to me about football or, like, why Aaron judge to be MVP or something like that. But, you know, I'm talking to you about the tango and jive kicks, and it's totally unexpected and kind of ironic, but it's not a bit. I actually do like the show.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I can tell, though, by the way, we got to watch the show together today. And you can tell this man is in it.
Brian Baker
Deep in it. Yeah. Deep in the lore.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I love it, dude. Well, is there any surprise from you that it's gotten this much attention, or did you kind of see this was coming?
Brian Baker
Yeah, definitely a bit of surprise. Like, I kind of knew would do well because I knew there was an audience for it. But when I walked on set here, I had people pointing me out be like, oh, straight white guy from TikTok. And I was like, oh, my God. Like, they were asking me for a picture. I was like, I want a picture with you.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
You know, I'm going to hype them up even more because I don't think people understand how big of a hit you actually were. We got in the ballroom and it was anyone from Derek Hough, Julianne Hoff, every single celeb and pro on the show. Ezra, of course, they had to come up and tell you how much they loved your videos.
Brian Baker
Yeah, it was pretty surreal. Ezra had some words for me because I don't think I gave him a fair shake in the week one or two, but, hey, you know, well, that's an objective journalist. I got to call what I see.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Just doing your job. At the end of the day, that's what you're doing. But we'll get to Ezra, okay? Because I think what's most important man, the reason why you're here is you are going to give us your usual feedback. He's got the notebook and everything. I'm going to try my best to just sit back and let you do what you do. And I'm just gonna go performance by performance, and I'll add a little here, but I want to really just. I want to see it up live and personal. I'm excited.
Brian Baker
Yeah, let's get into it first and.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Foremost, we have Jen and Jan. Jen.
Brian Baker
And Jan doing a cha cha, not gonna lie. So kind of this week, she hasn't really stood out to me much, but I think the opening with ripping away the baby belly, that's definitely, like, the kind of flair I'm looking for, you know, bring that energy.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Tough one here because they went home tonight. And I'll be the first to say I was sad about it.
Brian Baker
Lauren and Brandon, her dance last week, it was a More of a ballroom dance. Looked effortless, like she was floating. You know, Derek said, like, very light on her feet. You can tell it just comes natural to her. But I guess with the Latin dances, the thing you want to look for is like, that pizzazz and like, that fire. Like, papa, I'm here. She could have taken up more space and been more like, I'm here. I'm dancing. You know, I feel that giving the people. Shalon.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Shalant. All right. Danielle and Pasha.
Brian Baker
Danielle and Pasha. The dance felt very proper, very simple, but, like, effective. Like, there were no gimmicks, so just like a straight dance, like, straight to the point. And I think the scores reflected that. So Fair.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Yeah, fair, man. Your. Your takes are evolving. I want to let you know right now, there's. There's. There's technique, There's.
Brian Baker
There's a lot I'm learning.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Love it. So I can't imagine what's gonna be like at the end of the season. All right, we're going into next, and this is a chance to help out as a little bit. Jordan Ezra, what'd you think about tonight?
Brian Baker
You know, I don't know much of the technical aspects of dance, but I know what a dance makes me feel when I'm watching it. And when I watched Jordan Ezra dance tonight, I felt something. And, you know, I think at the end of the day, that's maybe what matters more than the technical aspect of it. And, you know, if you feel something, you feel something.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Hey, you gotta feel something.
Brian Baker
They had me feeling something.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
You gotta feel something. Okay, Talking about feeling something. Dylan and Danny.
Brian Baker
Dylan and Danny. So the first thing I wrote down. I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but I wrote down so hot, you're allowed steaming at some. At times, you forget Dylan's even out there because you're just watching Danielle the whole time. Fair. You know, I had to remind myself to breathe at one point. I was like, okay, you're allowed to breathe. A bit of a slip at the end. I think we noticed that. We called it Out. But I got. Yeah, it's just so hard to judge him because you're just mesmerized by her.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
It sounds like all you were seeing was Danny, so. All right. Guilty. Guilty. All right, going in next, we have Elaine and Alan.
Brian Baker
Elaine and Alan. I thought it was a tough song to dance to because it's very, like, almost like grunge, like, eclectic. So I don't know if maybe it's a little bit of a jarring song choice that took me out of it a little bit, but I thought it was still strong. She has great technique. Like, you know, quick, sharp heads. Head snaps is what I've learned taking those notes down, too. But I think people take for granted how much of the song is important to the dance, because I just don't know if that style of dance. That style of dance, like, meshed very well with the song they had out there. So.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Fair. Yeah, fair. Okay, next, another highest score of the night. Whitney and Mark.
Brian Baker
Whitney. And marked in the samba. I audibly said, whoa. When they started, I got genuine chills. I felt it, like, rise up from my feet through my shoulders. So first chills of the night. I've been saying that online is, like, what the kids are saying nowadays. Something like, you know, gives you chills. You go, chills.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Chills.
Brian Baker
That was chills sick. You know, such powerful, like, thrusts when they're side by side. Like, a lot of hip movement. That really sticks out to me. And, you know, I was talking to Julianne, met Julianne, and she. I was asking her. I was asking her about fringe pants, you know, with the tassels on them, and how sometimes they'll wear that to cover up, like, bad leg choreography or whatnot. I just want to say Whitney did not need to cover up anything tonight. That was superb. Not necessary at all. And then when you're watching on the screen, the tick tock overlay comes in. I thought that just put a cap on it, like, oh, this is.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
You love that.
Brian Baker
The perfect balance of a great dance. And for Tick Tock night, it was just, I thought, his best dance of night.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Chills. I love that.
Brian Baker
Chills.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
All right, Scott and Riley.
Brian Baker
Scott and Riley. I thought it was his best dance so far. I think Riley's best choreography so far. It's. I think being tall is a disadvantage, though, because it's, like, it's easier to spot mistakes if, like, you know, you don't finish with an arm or give.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Me one more of those.
Brian Baker
Finish with an arm.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Oh, dude. That's how you finish. Like, you're learning. Yeah, it's impressive, dude. Hilaria and Gleb.
Brian Baker
Larry and Gleb. I want to say I came out early on the Hilaria bandwagon. I'm a big fan of hers.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Love it.
Brian Baker
Okay. I call her Mrs. Baldwin. I see her as a motherly figure. To me, I met her. She's wonderful. She's a sweetheart. Beautiful samba roll. And I knew I was validated when the first note I wrote down was beautiful summer roll. And then. And the dance ended. Derek said, that was the most beautiful summer roll I've ever seen on the show.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
That's amazing.
Brian Baker
So I was like, oh, I know what I'm doing here.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
This guy knows ball.
Brian Baker
I'm getting it down.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Andy and Emma.
Brian Baker
Andy and Emma. They finally gave us what we wanted. And that's to feel like we're being held by Andy Richter on the camera, you know? What a moment.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
You felt it?
Brian Baker
Yeah, I felt like he was holding me and I was like, this is exactly where I want to be right now. Special. I don't know if there was a dry eye in the crowd.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
We saw it there.
Brian Baker
I think you had tears in your eyes.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
You looked at that?
Brian Baker
Yeah, I caught it, bro.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
It was real.
Brian Baker
It was real. Yeah, you have a little too. Yeah, one went down.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Yeah. I was trying to hold it in, but. I'm glad you felt that.
Brian Baker
But, yeah, you know, cue the waterworks. That was the most. I smiled all night. Pure joy. Just. Ooh. Just through the screen. That hug at the end, I don't even know. That was, like, choreographed. That just seemed, like, genuine, like, felt real. Yeah, that's chills. That chills. Big time shows.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Okay. Robert and Whitney.
Brian Baker
Robert and Whitney. He's still like, you know, strongest performer. He had me biting my lip, man. When he ripped his shirt off, I was like, you know. You know, I caught myself. But I think, yeah, he's still the best performer, you know, Hip movement, crazy. The heel slide. He does. He did that week one, too.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Why is he so good?
Brian Baker
He's so good at that. And it looks so cool every time.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I feel like we're gonna see it the entire show.
Brian Baker
I know. I want him to teach me how to do it.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
We gotta ask him every dance.
Brian Baker
You should do it. It's so good. I mean. And also, when I'm watching on tv, it sounded like the Beatles were on stage. Like, all the girls screaming in the crowd.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I have never heard the screams over the music.
Brian Baker
Audible screams, like, yeah, it was insane.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Alex and Val.
Brian Baker
Alex and Val. My co. Worker Alex Earl. Tick Tock. Hey, you know, this is kind of like home field advantage for her, you know, Tick Tock night. It's kind of like, you know, the packers play at Lambo in the playoffs.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Go back.
Brian Baker
Go. They got that. You know, the environment, the Yankees playing, you know, Yankee Stadium, the Bronx. Great song choice. That one is one of the most popular ones I've seen on Tick Tock. Yeah, she came out and delivered, you know, amazing footwork. I think she's definitely got the build for it, and I think I see her going really far. I think she's definitely stood out to me, she got two eights, so I love that. Maybe it should have been three.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Hey, fair and again, if there's anything I'm seeing from this. You're evolving with your own recap, man. There was a lot of really technical thoughts in there.
Brian Baker
100. I'm just, you know, trying to take any notes I can get. You know, I met Derek and Julianne and Alphonse was there kind of teaching me more of the technical aspects of it. And I'm just trying to be a sponge and soak it all up.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Oh, it's impressive. And I think if you do not follow Brian Baker on TikTok, you need to do it immediately.
Brian Baker
Right now.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Give him. Give him the plug. What is it?
Brian Baker
It's at Brian Baker on Instagram at Brian's Bakery on Tik Tok.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
There you go.
Brian Baker
It's a little fun.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)

Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Joining me now is a couple I'm very sad to see go. It's Lauren and Brandon. Talk about the elephant in the Room. I'm shocked you're sitting here right now.
Brian Baker
Yeah.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I just want to give you the floor and give you some more time to just tell me how you're feeling right now.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Well, I'm feeling really disappointed. Um, I'm a cry baby. I'm sorry.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
It's okay.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
It's just touched up and everything.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
It's okay.
Charli D'Amelio
Yeah.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I'm feeling a little sad.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Yeah.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Yeah. Upset.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
And it's understandable. I think a lot of people don't at home don't really understand how much time and effort you put into this, how much you look forward to what's coming in the competition and the fact that it gets taken away is difficult.
Charli D'Amelio
Yeah.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed. Having to do this right after getting eliminated is funny.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Yeah.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
It's hard to talk about middle mental breakdown, but here I am.
Charli D'Amelio
Hey, guys. So what?
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Thanks for not voting.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Week one, you had a 13. Week two, you had a 21. You were at the top of the leaderboard. Kind of in the middle, but top of the leaderboard those first two weeks, obviously, tonight was a surprise with the scores. Do you think people thought you were going to be safe tonight?
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I guess so. I mean, yeah, I'm not sure what people were thinking or what. What any kind of part of the thought process was. It's just. I mean, I gave my best. The judges scored me the way that they did, and then the voting was the next part, so. And my phone broke today, so I couldn't even tell you to vote. Sorry.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I think it's a great reminder to remember to vote, guys, because, you know, there's going to be a communication. You said there's going to be something about people having opinions about what happens tonight. If you have a favorite couple, you have to vote for him.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I wish I could have said this last week, though.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Yeah, that's fair. Yeah.
Brian Baker
Yeah.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
I mean, look, it's 50% of the deal.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
You know, it is, honestly. And part of being here is knowing you got to go home at some point.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
So how did you feel coming into this week doing a cha cha? Because it is. They talked about it. It's very different than what you did in the first two weeks. Like, what was your thought coming in? I'm doing a cha cha tonight.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Yeah. This was the first time we were doing Latin style, and I will say that ballroom styles were a lot easier for me to learn. The cha cha was a little challenging, but, I mean, Brandon is an amazing teacher, so I felt like I was in good hands and I felt really confident tonight. I will say I didn't do my absolute best tonight. And so I think that this elimination just makes it feel like that much more impactful because I would have at least liked to go off on, like, my best.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
A thousand percent.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Of course.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
I get that.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
And I will tell you, I thought it was amazing tonight. I said every single week. And Brandon can attest to this because I talked to him at the beginning of the show. The way you dance was effortless.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Thank you.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
Unbelievable.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Like, truthfully effortless. And it was one of the dances I was so excited to see every night, and I'm sad that we're not gonna be able to see more of it.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I know. Me too.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Let's talk about this partnership, because it was one I pay attention from the beginning. B's, my boy. I love Brandon so much. I want you to be able to talk a little bit more on what this partnership meant for you.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I felt amazing. Honestly, I couldn't have been paired up with a better person. I don't think. Like, it's been so beautiful. I'm so sad we don't get any more weeks together to dance. I had so much fun with you. I'm sorry. I'm a cancer, y'.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
All.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I'm a Scorpio moon. I got a lot of water in me.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
No, we. We always laugh because we're like. It's the most serious, unserious, seriously unseen.
Brian Baker
Look at what you're wearing.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
Look at what I'm wearing sitting here. This kid. I've never picked up a hammer a day in my life, and I'm sitting here after I got eliminated.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Honestly, with all the gags tonight, I'm just like, y', all, what? Why didn't you vote?
Brian Baker
Yeah.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Yeah.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
What are you doing?
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
Hurt me. I will say if I can. Just two cents. I will say, by far, the most painful elimination for me on the show. It's brutal. It's brutal. It's brutal for a million reasons, but for many reasons.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
What was it like for you to be partnered with someone like Lauren? Obviously, coming off of last season having two amazing dances in a row, you have to feel so great about that. That.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
Yeah, I think that's. I think that's kind of like the conundrum for me is I think the landscape of the show has shifted a lot. And this is. I'm not like a. A tea or a shade guy, so, like, this is not that at all. But I think that I really look up to pros and celebrities who do it right, like. Like Joey like we've had this conversation. Like, I feel like you, last year, you won it the right way. Does that make sense? Like you, you worked your buns off, technically, you developed as a dancer. You don't necessarily bell out to some of those other things. And I think that's all part of the show. It's all a mixture of the show. So again, I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful that the show has become popular and that we have a platform to do this on. I'm a dancer, a kid from Utah, the middle of nowhere, that would have no opportunity like this in a million years. So I think that's like why it's interesting to look back on. Because I just think that there's people that really grind out and do it the right way. You being one of those people and Lauren being one of those people to a T. Thank you. And same thing with me last year with Chandler. Like she was one of those people you were around with that she did it the right way. I really tried to pride myself on doing it the right way and I found the perfect partner. I didn't find her. I was given the perfect partner. So I think that's where I wanted this real bad. Yeah, I think that's where it feels a little nippy.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Yeah.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Well, I want to talk about some of the judges comments that were positive because I think sometimes when you get in this kind of situation, you focus on the negative because they talked about a lot of amazing things. I'm not going to say Derek's saying, you better work because that's just corny. We don't need to talk about that.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
But they gotta get em out.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Hey, you gotta have a couple of the corny ones. But I think one of the favorite things they talked about was lyrical quality. That is a huge thing when it comes to dancing is the ability to hear what's happening and hit at the right moments and the move with the musicality. Obviously you being a performer, that had to come naturally for you. But every single time it's on the entire notes from every week. They talked about your musicality and the effortless of your flow. How did you feel when you were dancing? Did you feel that as well?
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Yeah. Honestly, I think this was such a beautiful opportunity for me to really show what I can do as a dancer because most people know me obviously as a singer and I dance as well. When I perform, I sing and dance at the same time. And when you sing and dance at the same time, you have to be really mindful of Breath control, because that mic is on, baby. So I don't want to miss a note. So I won't go as hard on a move to preserve my energy. But this show gave me the opportunity to give my 110% as a dancer, which I've never really gotten to do in front of the world before. So it was a really beautiful, special opportunity. I'm sad I'm not gonna be able to do it anymore.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
Definitely.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
And I love the individuality part of it too. Right. Like you said, you were part of a group. I think it was so special that people got to see you as Lauren. Right. That's gotta be so amazing for you, coming in week to week.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Absolutely. Yeah. I mean, it was just such a special opportunity to show what I can do, you know?
Brian Baker
Yeah.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
And one thing, we've talked about it. I think Julianne and I were sitting here on week one, talked about it. I love how real you are. I know you can say it a million times, but you feel it when you talk to you. Like, you will say how it is. I love that when they ask how you're feeling, like, I'm pissed. Like, that is real.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I was pissed. Yeah. I also had no other words. Otherwise, I would have started bawling, and that would have been cute. So I come all year instead.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
I think if Lauren has taught me anything that would. That will be, like, for me, the golden nugget that I've learned in what I would consider too short of a.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Season of time spent together.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Way too short.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
What she genuinely. And it's not put on, and it's not even just for the reason of being herself. She genuinely is herself because she's a good person and she cares for good things. She stands up for herself and she voices her opinion about herself. And I, for one, I am a rider or dyer. Being authentic isn't. It's not put on. You're actually just who you are. And for me, I'll ride for that forever, so. And I really appreciate that. You've taught me a lot about that, so I appreciate that.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
You're awesome, too. They're human.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
The partnership is a huge part of the show.
Charli D'Amelio
Yeah.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
And I hope you'll understand when you come back, even though it didn't go as long as you felt it was, it will be like, you're gonna come. You're gonna. This is my bestie now forever.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I'm gonna be in your phone too. Okay. Briley. It's okay.
Charli D'Amelio
Not like that.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
It truly does carry, though. And I. I, again, I Just appreciate you guys coming and talking with me. I know it's a very like, like in real time moment and we're still processing. It's good though, but it's real. And I can't wait to see you guys come back for the finale. You gotta dance on em one more time.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
One more, one more. Can I say one more thing before.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Please, please.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
Okay. I already can see it coming online, people. And we were talking about this walk in the trailer. Andy this or so and so that or so and so this person deserves. If you guys went into the rehearsal studio and saw how hard every single celebrity is working, nobody deserves it more than the other person.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
It's really. And also tonight was a toss up. A thousand percent was going to go. I didn't think it was going to be me.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
Yeah.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
So please don't be sliding into these other folks people talking about you don't deserve this or that or because you're. Or you're judging this. That, whatever.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Agreed.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
That's crazy to me.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
Everyone worked so hard.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
Come on now.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I had such a beautiful time here because of the crew and the cast and like all the amazing pros, like everyone. Anyways, I think that's voted for me. Damn it.
Brian Baker
We love you all, though.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
We still love you.
Lauren (eliminated contestant)
I have new music coming though, so get ready. You better still be locked in.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
Okay, listen, so do I. I have new music coming.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
This. No, no, no, don't listen to that one.
Brandon (eliminated contestant)
Yeah, that one we're gonna scrape.
Podcast Host (possibly a Dancing with the Stars commentator)
I think that's a beautiful note to end on though, right there, guys. That's a wrap for TikTok night. Thank you so much for joining me.
