Foreign. The following podcast is a Dear media production. Hello and welcome back to your favorite podcast, D Influence.
Jordan
Wow.
Danny
Hi. Winner, winner, winner, chicken dinner.
Jordan
Winner, winner, chicken dinner. I did wake Danny up from her nap to come to this podcast.
Danny
I usually do nap before this pod.
Jordan
I know. I knew because it was quiet.
Danny
It was kind of too quiet. Well, I woke up this morning and I did so many things.
Jordan
I know you were going. You worked out.
Danny
I was kidding, but yeah. Yeah.
Jordan
Oh, I thought. I thought you did.
Danny
Yeah, I worked out, and then I filmed a video and then I picked up the kids from school and then I took a nap.
Jordan
Yeah, I. I am gassed. Yeah, I was gassed yesterday.
Danny
No, it's been. It's been a hard weekend for us.
Jordan
It was.
Danny
I mean, an amazing good week.
Jordan
Yes. But it was like. I mean, staying out until midnight when you are a parent of three kids is the equivalent of when you used to stay out till like 4am after the club shut down.
Danny
And to you, you take shots at the end of the night. Like, that's what it felt like.
Jordan
Yes. Like, neither of us drink, but I woke up feeling incredibly hungover.
Danny
Same.
Jordan
Like, I literally woke up and I was like, oh, my gosh, what did I do?
Danny
What did I do last night? Yes, I feel that way. Know that so much. And I also feel that way when I don't put sunscreen on and I wake up the next day and I'm sunburnt. It's horrible feeling.
Jordan
Oh, that's.
Danny
You don't feel that when you wake up and with a sunburn?
Jordan
No, I don't even.
Danny
I'm like, oh, my God, I have.
Jordan
So much guilt and I've got sun damage.
Danny
You really do? Yeah, pretty bad. Well, why don't you tell the people what happened? Why were we out so late?
Jordan
Well, we were nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year. We haven't really talked about it that much. We posted, like, one reel.
Danny
No, we talked about it last. Last time. We even talked about our. Our maybe possible speech, remember?
Jordan
Got it. That's right. That's right. That's right. So here's kind of what happened. It's actually a pretty funny story. So we've been going through this process. Expectations have been low. We're like, whatever happens, happens.
Danny
Yeah.
Jordan
But then on a whim, you know my ey guy, Ivan, which.
Danny
Well, sorry, can we back up a little bit? And can you explain, like, kind of what that process was like? Because I'm sure a lot of people are like, how did this even come to be Kind of like the Forbes list. Like, how'd this even happen?
Jordan
So EY is the most genius company for doing this because they basically have found a way to huddle up next to the top Fortune 1000 companies, which I'm not saying that we are doing that, but there's like, a large statistic that they said of, like, some crazy, like, 60% plus of Fortune 1000 companies have gone through EY's Entrepreneur of the Year. So they're very good at picking, like, the next up and coming companies. And the way they do it is they basically have an independent panel of sponsors. So the sponsor's job, and this is like, different companies or like, different executives. They're like, hey, I want to nominate Divi as like, a company for EY Entrepreneur of the Year. So they have kind of all these, like, feelers out there, which they call sponsors. And then they find sort of the. The new up and coming companies, and they recommend you for EY Entrepreneur of the Year. And then you go through a pretty intense process. No, no, no, no, no.
Danny
Okay. That's what I gotta apply either. Because honestly, I didn't even know it was a thing.
Jordan
Do you want to know? It's crazy is I got this phone call in when it was our last OB appointment before we had summit.
Danny
Do you remember? I remember that. That's how long ago this was.
Jordan
And you know what's so funny now that I'm remembering this too. We fought that day because you were mad that I took that phone call. Do you remember that?
Danny
Oh, yeah.
Jordan
You were upset because you said yes.
Danny
Because I was like, he doesn't care.
Jordan
Yeah.
Danny
Yes.
Jordan
And you said. You said, you go. This is what you said to me. You go. I just really wanted to come to the mall and have quality time. And I said, hey, I.
Danny
You were on the phone the entire time.
Jordan
And I said, I totally hear you. But, like, I really feel like I should have taken this phone call.
Danny
No, I'm still mad at you that.
Jordan
Though, Even after all this.
Producer
Yeah.
Danny
Because it's like you could have just scheduled it out better.
Jordan
That's our producers.
Danny
Love.
Jordan
Fair. Okay, that's fair. But anyway, so I get this phone call and he's like, hey, listen, I found you guys. I read this article. I know you're a local div company. No, it wasn't. I. It was one of the sponsors. His name was Dave and Dave.
Danny
Shout out.
Jordan
Shout out Dave. And he was like, hey, listen, you know, I. I really want to recommend you guys. Like, I've heard a lot about you guys, I. I talked to your private equity group. You know, I think this would be really good for you. And he was like, where are you at in life? And I was like, well, right now I'm walking out of an OB appointment for our third. And he was like, hey. Actually, he was like, it's a lot of work, so I don't know if you want to do this right now. And I was like, no, no, no, no, no. I was like, we got.
Danny
Like, my wife is totally happy. She's not mad at me right now. It's all good.
Jordan
I was like, we've got a full clip of capacity. I was like, trust me. We grew up on the Internet. Like, we know what it's like to run at a really fast pace. So he pushed me forward. And then we went through a series of interviews. They came to Debbie's office. We had, like, a video interview.
Danny
Yeah, all that.
Jordan
Yeah.
Danny
Wait, so do we owe, like, a big thanks to Dave? Because I don't know who this Dave is and do you know him? Like, should we.
Jordan
I. I haven't talked to Dave since he first recommended us because then I got passed over to Ey and our contact became Ivan.
Danny
Oh, I feel like I should have, in my speech, like, thanked this mysterious Dave.
Jordan
Yeah. So Dave. His name is Dave Cochran.
Danny
Thank you, Dave Cochran.
Jordan
I think. I think he's retired now, and he likes to do this for fun, like, find cool companies.
Danny
What's cool, too, is that he found us through an article, which is also comforting to know that PR is important.
Jordan
Yeah, no, for real.
Danny
Because so much of, like, what we do is always through the Internet. And, like, whenever we do PR stuff, we're like, this doesn't really matter. But, yeah, it's cool to know that it actually does.
Jordan
So we weren't going to invite anyone to the EY ceremony of the gala.
Danny
We probably would have invited, like, our parents.
Jordan
Like, our parents. But, you know, I got this text from Ivan, and Ivan was like. Like, he kind of was just like, hey, I'm excited for Saturday. Like, hey. Like, you know, all roads lead to Palm Springs. Like, you know, and he. I think he was like. I couldn't tell if he was hyping me up and being like, let's go. Let's go get this. Or if he was like, hey, bring your friends and family.
Danny
Well, he kept saying to us, like, let's go get some metal.
Jordan
No, hardware. Is he called it hardware.
Danny
Oh, I'm sorry. Like, let's go get some hardware. And I'm like, this is Gonna be really rude if we don't win. And, like, you've encouraged us to invite all of our friends and family and buy three tables. But then at the same time, I'm like, I know this is a business, like, your ey. Like, you're not dumb. And so I'm like, they're just trying.
Jordan
To get us to buy tables for.
Danny
The money, you know? And Jordan's like, no, I think that, like, maybe he's trying to encourage us that maybe we're gonna win. I'm like, no, babe, this is just business. Business works.
Jordan
So anyway, we rolled the dice. We. We got three tables. So our closest executives, friends, and family, you know, we invite to this event. And a couple things happened. One is the war broke out. I don't know if we are in war, but I literally. We were all.
Danny
So I've been, like, listening to a lot of, like, political podcasts and, like, you know, like, the news.
Jordan
Yeah, yeah.
Danny
And, like, according to what I've been listening to, we're not at war. Okay, but, you know, like, I don't know.
Jordan
What does your Internet say? Gen Z producer.
Danny
Oh, her? Are you kidding me? You're gonna ask a Gen Z TikTok producer? She's gonna be full and at war. We're all gonna die.
Jordan
Yeah, no, let's see from her.
Producer
Honestly, that's the thing that I don't think people understand about Gen Z is like, yeah, we may not feel great about the situation, but let me tell you, the Internet is so good right now with what we're saying.
Jordan
Like, you guys really rally around, oh.
Producer
My gosh, the trends.
Jordan
Do you think we are at war?
Producer
We don't. I don't think we're at war. And my Tik Tok feed hasn't been more. It's kind of people going back and forth, and then most of us. I mean, it makes me uncomfortable. Like, I definitely feel a little more scared than probably you do.
Danny
Yeah. Iran just, like, tried to bomb the Qatar American.
Jordan
But, but, but.
Danny
Sorry. Like, the bases.
Jordan
Like, but they.
Danny
I'm not a political.
Jordan
But listen, my understanding is they gave warning. So it was like. My understanding.
Danny
I don't know if they gave warning. I think that the US Knew it.
Jordan
Was coming, but they alerted Qatar officials before they did it.
Danny
Who's they? Iran.
Jordan
Iran. So people, the theory is that they couldn't have. They had to have some show of force, but they. They did a minimal show of force to not go to war. Does that make sense?
Danny
Because Iran doesn't want to go to war. Either.
Jordan
Well, it's like, yeah, they don't want to look like punks, but, like, they also don't want to go to war.
Danny
You know what I really want to talk about is I pack, but we'll talk about it later.
Jordan
What's ipac?
Danny
It's like the bipartisan Israeli, like, organization that pays both sides, that, like, all of our senators are taking money from. But, you know, it's like, we're not going to go there. It's, like, not a good idea.
Jordan
So anyway, we're at the white table, and we're at the zy table, and Danny and I, I mean, we're like, oh, my gosh. We actually brought a lot of people here. Our nerves are sort of. You know, we're on edge.
Danny
Yeah.
Jordan
And then all of a sudden, people's phones start dinging, and it's like people's faces are just, like, blank stares, and they're like, yeah, we just bombed Iran. And I was like, oh, shoot.
Danny
I feel like this happens. I can't remember the last time.
Jordan
I do.
Danny
Okay.
Jordan
Yeah, we were in Cabo for our Club Divi Cabo trip, and Russia invaded Ukraine.
Danny
Yeah.
Jordan
We have tanked our algorithm.
Danny
We have really tough timing with.
Jordan
No, it's. It's true.
Danny
But you know what? This is just, like, it's good for us to be aware of what's going on and stay in with what's going on, be sensitive. So, yeah, so there's that.
Jordan
Yeah. Sitting at the table. And it's a long event. So the way that they gave out the awards is they showed, like, three different videos, Right.
Danny
Introducing companies because they had multiple categories. So you could. You win your category, and then if you win, you go on to nationals. And nationals is in November in Palm Springs. Springs.
Jordan
Yes. And so the first video they showed. So it's like. Let's say there's like, 50 companies. They did, like, blocks of, you know, you know, 12. 12, and then the last 12 or whatever. And so the funniest thing is, in the first video, we're not even in it. Like, they're introducing, like, all these companies. They're like. They're like companies that change the world. And it's like oil and gas. And he's like, no, it's like this guy James, and he's like, I'm building batteries and re industrializing America. And I'm like, oh, y' all.
Danny
It was all energy companies, battery companies, AI companies. Like, literally, I. I'm not even kidding you. There were 50 nominees. I don't know what the other 49 do.
Jordan
Yeah.
Danny
I literally have no idea. I just know it has something to do with oil, gas, or energy.
Jordan
Yes. And so we're like, oh, my gosh. We just got three tables.
Danny
Yeah.
Jordan
With all of our closest friends.
Danny
Yeah.
Jordan
And our film. This is the funniest part. Yeah. Our good friends. But I brought our team, too. And I'm like, guys, like, come on. I know, but so listen, listen, listen. So our friends. So they show the first video. We're not in it. They show the second video of the next 12 companies, we're not in it. There was a point in the dinner where our friends were filming our reaction and they just stopped filming because they were like, oh, this is so embarrassing.
Danny
They were like, no, we were all feeling it. They.
Jordan
We. Everyone was feeling it. They were like.
Danny
Like, every time they would announce a winner, they would film us. And, like, our friends were so sweet because they were like, we know that y' all are going to want the moment captured. And then, yes, I would say, like, after, like, winner number eight, like, they just stopped because it was like. It was just embarrassing because then after, like, eight winners were just like, okay, we're like, like, so.
Jordan
So around.
Producer
Wait, can you clarify? Like, was there different categories?
Danny
That's what I said.
Jordan
Yeah.
Danny
Yeah, there were different categories. So all different types of winners. And then we all go on. Out of, like, the 50, I'm just guessing, like, estimating, like, 50 nominees, there were, like, 10 to 15 winners, which. So that's why they're going through each. Each category throughout the night. And. But they didn't really, like, it was just more like an award show for entertainment. So we didn't know what category, what was going on. So, yeah, it was really stressful. Like, an hour and a half in, and they hadn't even, like, mentioned Divi.
Jordan
Yeah. And so. So we're. Listen. And both can be true. We can both be scared and ashamed that we invited 30 of our closest friends and family.
Danny
I wasn't ashamed.
Jordan
And also can be true that we were like, we love these other founders and companies. So, like, I just want to be clear.
Danny
I love them so much. I wish I knew more of what they did. I'm just not smart enough to understand.
Jordan
There were some companies that I was like, yeah, for sure. You guys should be winning this.
Danny
No, they're changing the world.
Jordan
You're changing America and changing the world. We're changing scalp. We're changing. We.
Danny
We just want America to have healthy scalp.
Jordan
That's my freaking lie. Don't you Steal my line. So. So, okay, we're on category SL winner. Let's just call it 10. There's going to be 12 total by 8. I have already started a draft press release in my phone to all of our friends that says embargoed press release. You're so worried about our friends for immediate release. I was like, I'm going to draft this funny text message that is a fake press release so that if we lose, people know we're totally fine with it. No big deal. Let's just go upstairs, you know, like, listen to the band, etc. I start going over to our. Our. Our team's table and I'm trying to rile them up because I'm like, oh, my gosh. It's not just our friends. It's not just my mom and dad. I've got to, like, deal with the. The momentum of my team now.
Danny
This is a good. These are all good signs of a good leader. Like, you're so empathetic and, well, everybody else's. Everybody else's experience. I was like, hey. I was like, hey, it's a free dinner. I was like, it's a good night. They'll have a band later.
Jordan
To be clear, before you call me a good leader, I did go to the divvy table and said, listen, if we lose, we're just going to say it was rigged.
Danny
We'll say, like, we didn't donate any money.
Jordan
It was a fake election. It was all rigged.
Danny
It's fake news. It's fake news.
Jordan
You know, as a dad, entrepreneur, and business owner, I've learned that one of the most valuable lessons we can pass on to our kids isn't about sports or school. It's about money. Something both Danny and I are passionate about is making sure our kids know where money comes from and how to handle it. This is where Acorns early comes in. With everyone home for summer, there's no better time to start teaching your kids the value of money. Acorns early makes it super easy with their smart money app and debit card for kids. Their chores tracker teaches kids that hard work pays off. Just set up task, assign a payment amount and check it off when it's done. With savings goals, kids can learn how to plan and save towards something they really want, complete with their target dates and an optional autosave feature. They'll also get a real sense of independence by spending what they've earned using their very own debit card. Customizable with 35 plus card designs. And what I love most, the app is full of fun, interactive lessons that build financial confidence early on. As a parent, you still stay in control. Real time notifications, spending limits and the ability to instantly block lost or stolen cards. And yes, no more scrambling for cash. You can automate their allowance right from the app. For me, Acorns early has been a game changer in helping my kids develop real world money skills and in a way they actually enjoy. Comfort from the outside in. So, okay, so no joke. It comes to the very, very last selection and I'm. I'm like, kind of sad. So in this moment, I. And I never admitted this, but like, I was like, man, you know, Danny gets so many awards. And I started to feel like I was the burden. I was like, if this was just Danny, like, she totally would have won.
Danny
Jordan. Oh, my gosh.
Jordan
But I was like. I was like, this is the first time they've attached, like the behind the scenes guy. And I was like, I'm just. They didn't like Robin. They wanted Batman. They didn't like Robin.
Danny
Oh, my gosh. This man.
Jordan
And so stop. But admit it.
Danny
Like, no, I'll never.
Jordan
No, no, what I'm saying is, like, it would have been funny if the one thing that we went into together we lost.
Danny
No, it wouldn't have.
Jordan
No, I know. I would have been sad. That's why it was sad.
Danny
Oh, okay.
Jordan
Yeah, I was sad. But then, so it comes to the very last election and they.
Danny
The last election, the last selection.
Jordan
Oh, I think that election, no selection. And so they start talking about the company and before they would, like, open the envelope, they would always be like, this company is phenomenal leadership CEO. And every time they would, like, explain a company, like, our friends would look at us and be like, it could be you. And then they'd be like, refining oil across the country and be like, oh, it's not us. And they. What did they say? They were like, this company is, like.
Danny
Changing the world with. With clean ingredients. And a lot of the businesses, just so y' all know, were not consumer facing. They were not B2C. They were all like, B2B. Not all of them, but most of them. So there weren't a lot of, like, products.
Jordan
And so when they said.
Danny
When they say cleaning, it's like to.
Jordan
Oh, I like, my.
Danny
My mouth is like.
Jordan
My eyes welled up.
Danny
When they said cleaning, I almost cried, too. And, like, I don't cry about stuff like this.
Jordan
No, I was like. Because I would have been totally fine not winning. It was just that we invited all of our friends and family.
Danny
I, like, didn't care about that.
Jordan
Oh, I cared. That's all I cared about.
Danny
I know. You know what I cared about? I wanted you to win. Win.
Jordan
I know I could tell you wanted me to win.
Danny
That's all I really cared about. It didn't really matter to me if I won, but I wanted you to get the recognition because I feel like there's so, like, 90% of divvy is you. Like, 10%. Like, I. It was my idea. I was the visionary. I thought of the idea. But, like, everybody has ideas. Like, we all have ideas, and we all. We all have ideas that will save the world. But to actually execute them and to have, like, a partner to help you, like, get it moving is a whole nother story. And that was you in the equation. And I feel like you don't get that recognition because it's always like, the founder with the idea.
Jordan
Yeah.
Danny
And so it was like. So I was important for me to have you get that recognition.
Jordan
Well, that's so sweet. I'm about to throw something sweet back at you. But so they say clean ingredients. My eyes welled up. We. We go on stage. We accept the ward. I go up to Ivan, who's like, our guy.
Danny
Can I say something? I was so mad at Jordan for. Because, like, the thing about me is I've. I've done a lot of things on stage. Like, so I am really good at taking cues. And it's like, hey, you're going to walk on stage and you're going to pause. You're Going to wave to the crowd, or at this moment, you're going to give a one minute acceptance speech. Like, it's just, you know, with. I'm not perfect at it, and it's not natural for me, but after you do it for a certain amount of years, like, you get. So there was, like, one moment where we do a parade where we walk out on stage and you go up and they're like, make sure. They're like, make sure you go to the front of the stage and you pause. Take your time. Do take your moment. Wave to the crowd, pose. Get your photo op. And I'm like, great. Okay, great. Like, he literally said that, like, straight to Jordan. And we're doing this together. Usually it's just me. And we got on stage, and Jordan just goes, like, literally just sprints across the stage, drags my hand. I was like. And then we're. We're up on stage, like, posing. You know, we didn't pose because Jordan skipped that. And. But we go to, like, where we're supposed to stand on stage, and the whole time, I'm so mad at him.
Jordan
I'm like, I know. Honestly, if I was like, there's a video. There's probably a video of us standing, fighting. Fighting on stage, like, before the ceremony even starts. Because I'm, like, trying to be civil, and I'm like, yeah, I totally. I totally pause.
Danny
No, you just. You just rush. And you never got your photo moment, and I wanted you to have that.
Jordan
I knew I effed up, but I was denying.
Danny
And here's what's annoying is you led me. So you led me, like, to. And you grabbed my hand, and if I would have led you, I would. But then I also didn't want to be disrespectful and, like, fight back.
Jordan
Totally. Yeah.
Danny
You know, And I was like, that's gonna be more embarrassing. So then I was just like.
Jordan
So. So they. Yeah, they saved us for last. It was, like, the best moment ever. I'm so gl now that they. That it happened the way that it did, because I feel like my joy was, like, so, like, real and so.
Danny
Fun because basically it was, like, such a long night. And by the end of the night, we're all like, oh, my gosh, we lost. Like, we're starting to, like, think, like, where we're gonna go. We're gonna go to whataburger. Like, it's too late. So open. And then they're like, and the last winner is Divi. And it was just so great. And your parents Were there, which was so fun. We had three tables, so we had this really big, loud, like, roar of applause. And it was just a very special night. And our friends were so sweet. My girlfriends, like, prayed for me before we. The whole night even started, which was also really sweet because, like, it wasn't. It was so crazy. You know, there were probably, like, 14, 15 winners, and not one person acknowledged God at all. I don't know if you noticed that.
Jordan
Yeah.
Danny
Which is fine.
Jordan
Like, no, James, the battery guy, he didn't. He didn't.
Danny
No. Nobody did the entire night, which is fine. But, like, to me, it's, like, so much of our story. And it was, like, so cool that my friends, like, they literally, in the middle of the whole party, like, stopped and, like, made, like, a little crowd of just, like, prayer. And it was so cool that my friends were like. Because honestly, I don't even know if I would have done that. My friends were, like, kind of bold enough to do that. So after that, I was, like, lifetime friends.
Jordan
Can I tell you what I learned from the experience?
Danny
Yeah.
Jordan
Why'd you look at Krissa? Oh, what I learned from the experience is that. Let's just say that that was, like, my first taste of having main character energy, which is typically you. I am not cut out for it. And I'm. I'm. No, no, listen. Listen to me. It's. It's a compliment to you. Okay.
Danny
Okay. I'm like, okay.
Jordan
The fact that you went on stage and gave the speech that you did, completely acknowledging that that was, like, God's provision. And, like, you know, God's grace that is, like, led us here, tells me that you so deserve main character energy. And I do not. Like, I'm kind of kidding. I'm kind of not, like, dead ass. I'm telling you. Like, I was like. I listened. I rewatched your speech when you posted your reel, and I was like, she is such a good person. I was like, she deserves all of the main character energy. And what's so funny is, like, four days prior to that, we had run into this guy at the mall who came up to you, and it was like, this random dude, and he was like, probably 50 plus. And he was like, hey, I know you. And he goes, what's my name? And you recognized him, and he recognized you, and it was your third grade janitor, and he was talking, custodian, whatever. So he was talking about how, like, he remembered your character from third grade. Yeah, that blows my mind. Like, that blows my mind. And so basically, this whole Thing because.
Danny
I would always try to get him to memorize my name.
Jordan
This whole thing, like, this whole thing has solidified for me that like, like, you deserve all the main character energy. No, and I, I'm not, Listen, I'm not like pity farming where I'm like, oh, like I'm a bad person. I don't deserve to be on. I actually am just saying, like, it has helped me understand, like, what a gifted it is to be able to like, work with you and support you in like, your dreams. Because I think that you have this crazy ability to be super high level and like, achieve a lot of things, but also, like, stop and like, talk to the custodian or talk to the lunch lady or like, care about our employees on, like a really deep level. And I think I have elements of that, but yours is in overdrive. Like, if I would have gone up and I had more time to say the speech, I'd have been like, after haters. Like, you know we did it, baby. Like, that would have been my speech. And like, I would have been. I would have been talking to like, our private equity group is there. I would have been like, lb, yeah, look after haters. No one believed in us. And like, you were so, like, stewardship grace. And so, yeah, that's what I learned. I had to talk to my therapist about this today.
Danny
Really?
Jordan
Oh, for sure.
Danny
Wait, what brought that up?
Jordan
Well, it's a. It's a deeper lesson. And I think it's just like, typically, like when you and I go through life lessons, it's like, sometimes, like, I'm ahead of you and you catch up, and then other times, like, you're ahead of me and I catch up. And I feel like the lesson that is the greater theme of what's going on is that, like, because we've had a hard year. No other way to say it.
Danny
Everybody's having.
Jordan
Everyone has hard year. We had a hard year.
Danny
Everybody's. Everybody struggles.
Jordan
But you were able to look at the win of ey and be like, man, even despite all the pruning and all of the hardships we face, like, God is still good to us. And like, my perspective on it was like, like, we survived, like, never give up. You know, it was like kind of that. And so it's a larger theme that I feel like you're doing so well in life right now, which is you're saying, like, I'm not responsible for my own results. Like, all results and achievements. Glory to God. And I'm kind of in this phase where I'M like glory to Jordan.
Danny
Yes, yes I have.
Jordan
You know what I'm saying? And everyone does this. So like, like I don't want to. I mean like it is sin and it's like not good. But like everyone does this. But I've learned a lot just the past couple weeks. I think you've done a really good job of getting out of self even when self is on stage and still like acknowledging where the glory goes. Does that make sense?
Danny
Right? Right?
Carissa

We are a family of five now. We have two toddlers and a baby. There's a lot of things that we need as parents that make parenting way easier. One of the things I actually remember that I put on my registry when I first had Stella because I had a girlfriend that had a baby like, whatever you do, only do magnetic Me onesies. She was like, do not do the snaps, the buttons, nothing else. The magnets make it so much easier. And I, like, didn't really understand because I hadn't had a baby yet. But I remember I registered for all, like, the cutest prints for Stella. I remember that she had this one that had butterflies on.
Danny
I still, like, have so many pictures.
Carissa
Of her in this little onesie. Anyway, it made the biggest difference for diaper changes. And so with Stratton, I totally forgot to add those to my registry and I was like, it. It made me so upset. It makes the biggest difference. So with Summit, we're back into the magnetic Me Magneta Me makes getting everyone dressed and out the door a thousand times easier. All of their clothes have magnetic closures that make dressing time quick and easy. There's literally no fussing with buttons or zippers. Also, it's the worst when you accidentally zip your baby's skin into, like, the little zipper is source the Met. The magnetic closures are so quick and quiet, but on top of that, they are completely safe to use. The magnets are sewn in a way that makes it impossible for them to remove. As y' all have seen on my stories and heard about here on the podcast, getting my toddlers ready for the day can be quite the challenge. Plus, they have the cutest, unique, one of a kind prints. Their prints are designed by female artists around the world, which only makes me love them even more. Not only are these outfits easy to put on my baby, but the fabrics are super soft and sustainable. They're gentle on sensitive skin and the earth too. Stratton has a really cute pair that has magnets on the shoulders. Because I don't know if y' all have experienced this with your toddlers, but when you try to raise the shirt above their head and, like, get stuck on their nose and they start screaming, crying, so these actually come undone on their shoulders. It is like, the coolest invention. Getting our babies dressed has never been easier than with magnetic knee, trust us. You need to order these for your baby. These go to magneticme.com today. New customers will get 15 off their first order. Don't wait. That's magnetic me.com.
Danny
Yeah, I would say. Okay, well, first of all, the first thing I want to say is thank you. Except. And then the second thing I would. I want to say is, like, I understand what you're saying, and I. I think it's really sweet that you acknowledge, like, where my heart truly is, but I think that you're more there than you think or realize. I just think that. I think with being in the spotlight for so long, you get there and you haven't been in the spotlight as long as I have.
Jordan
That's what I'm saying. I'm not cut out for it yet.
Danny
But, no, I don't think that's true. And I think you should stop speaking that over yourself. Like, I think you should really stop saying that because. Because that's not true. Because, like, that's literally all of our purposes. Like, God uses all of us in, like, everything that we do is because of him and his blessings. And it's not just like an anointing on my life. Like, it's yours too. It's just. It's a way that. It's the perspective and the way that you look at things. But, like, I think that my. My biggest cringe and my biggest fear in life is to ever get on stage and be like, you know why I got this? Perseverance, baby. Diligence, hard work. Like you said about 2am when all you other. And like, here's the thing I did. Like, I sacrificed. I'm sorry. Like, a shit ton. Like, I compare myself to my friends and like, the hell I've been through because of the sacrifices I have made versus theirs. I'm telling you, like, I was always way hard. Like, way more hard working and way more diligent and way more. But, like, to me, it. It doesn't really matter because I even like all of those. In those moments of, like, working really hard or the diligence or the gifts. Like, it's. It's all gods. Like, it's all gods at the end of the day.
Jordan
Listen, you are so right, and I. That is what I saw. And that's what you've really challenged me in without even, like, doing anything, just by being you. Because, like, in my mind, you're right. We both have done. The sleepless nights. We both have done.
Danny
Why do you have a band aid on?
Jordan
I cut my finger.
Danny
With what? A knife?
Jordan
Yeah. It was an accident.
Danny
I've never seen a bandit.
Jordan
I'm like, I know it's a whale. It's a narwhal kind of sad.
Danny
Sorry.
Jordan
Like, we both have endured, like, the perseverance, and, like, we've gone through, like. I mean, we have both gone through so much to get here where I want to again. It's like, this is why God creates marriage. Like, we refine each other. We challenge each other. Like, you challenge me to be. I want to catch up to you and be like, hey, like, I need to have a perspective that, like, yes, I did do those things, but I want to be first in saying, like, all glory to God, and, like, God gave us this versus Jordan did this. And I think that there's a little bit. I'm just being honest. I think it's helpful to be honest. There's a little bit of a chip on my shoulder of being like, man, these results are because I sacrificed XYZ and perseverance and dedication, all the other pep talks.
Danny
And I. And I get that because I had so many girls that were, like, so mean to me when I started making YouTube videos. But. But another big thing is that I think, honestly, what has always kept me so grounded in this is. This is. Sounds so depressing, but, you know, I've always said this is, like, we're all gonna die one day, and we're all gonna die and go to heaven one day. And, like, that has been. That has been something that is so, like, on the tip of my, like, it's so, like, at the. The front and center of my mind 24 7. I think a lot of people forget that. A lot of people forget that, and they don't even really think about it. So when they take an award or a. They accomplish something, it's so easy. If you're not thinking about that, then it's so easy to be, like. To praise yourself. But, like, I'm like, I could literally die tomorrow. Okay? And, like, this piece of hardware that I won this evening literally, is gonna Mean nothing. So I, like, literally going into the event, I kept thinking about that, and I kept thinking, okay, like, this, this. This award show, like, what I'm gonna win, the successes, everything that comes from this. Like, I literally replayed this in my head. I was like, none of this is gonna matter. One day I'm going to stand for before God, and what am I going to say about that ey event? Like, what am I going to say? What am I going to be able to proclaim in front of God and Jesus that I did because of that opportunity? I think about that all the time with. With almost like every big moment. So then I'm like, okay, what? I'm not going to be able to bring the trophy to heaven. I'm not going to be able to bring the dress to heaven with me, which the dress was me Wrong. I'm not gonna be able to, like, whatever it is. But the people that I've met and the people that we speak to tonight and the message that I share from winning people are going to remember, and maybe it will be a tally in their. Their mission in life. It will add to, like, their mission. I don't know. And so. And I've. I feel like I've always been able to have that. It's almost kind of like a little. It's not pessimistic, it's not negative, but it's almost like a very, like, realistic version of. And to be honest, I am so thankful for the opportunity. I'm so thankful for the award to be recognized in Forbes or ey. Or we're nominated for a beauty matter event, or now we're nominated for another new beauty award. All these awards, I'm like, oh, my gosh, this is so amazing. But it does not matter. And I see somebody like our nanny Brenda, who works her little ass off every single day, and she is the most amazing woman. She's pouring into my kids. She's taking my kids. She gets here super early while I'm working. She's taking her, and I'm like, that woman deserves an award, like, for what she's doing because she works just as hard as I do. And sometimes I almost feel, like, guilty because I'm like, man, why doesn't she get the award? Or what is. Why doesn't the mom across the street that's just like, busting her ass raising her children to be amazing kids. Why does she get the award? Sometimes it kind of just bums me out that not the slimiest. Because it's not slimy. People that get the awards. But sometimes it's the people that have sacrificed their lives in ways that are not glorifying to God that get the award. And that always kind of just bums me out. And so. So I don't know. I think about that a lot.
Jordan
And you're not wrong about anything that you said. But what I'm just clarifying for you is like, that's what makes you the good one.
Danny
Yeah.
Jordan
Not. Not of our marriage. I think I like, like, I'm not saying I'm the bad one. I'm saying that's what makes you like, you always want to see celebrities that are like genuinely good people, like, succeed and you want to see good people succeed. And I think that from my slight little sliver of recognition in this ey show, like, I am telling you, it is supernatural how much recognition you have gotten that you have been able to still care about people on a deep and personal level. Like, you need to realize, like, I do think that, that why. That is why there is a continued provision that God gives you because I think you steward the success and steward the recognition for his glory better than I. I am learning how to do it by the way that you have done it.
Danny
Yeah.
Jordan
Because like usually. And I also will say this, and I'm not saying this from a self pity. I do not. I don't want this anymore.
Danny
Like, I will take one bad speech and now.
Carissa
It's not a bad speech.
Danny
You had a great speech.
Jordan
It's not a bad speech. I just, I'm telling you for like my own heart and my own soul. Like, I am not cut out for this game. I will be the Robin to your Batman. But if you, if you affirm me at that, at the level that you have received affirmation. I.
Danny
You've been turning Justin Bieber. You think you're not clocking on this business. Your business is not cracking.
Jordan
I'm telling you like, and I, I'm so grateful for the experience that now.
Danny
Comes out with like a full sleeve hat. He's like, this is business.
Jordan
No, you know, you know who I turn it to is who is the. At the. The Met gala. Who like, oh, Dochi Doji. I'd be Doji Umbrella.
Danny
Don't show off my outfit before. Like, that type of, that type of energy is like my biggest fear in life. Like, I'm sorry, like, I love you, Doji. But like, please, that is not what matters.
Jordan
Yeah, you've had some, like, it's the. Again, the biggest blessing is like, I am so. It Solidified our dynamic so well for me that, like, I think that I don't mind being the workhorse behind the scenes. I love it. I'm good at it. Like, it's so fun. But, like, you go up there and accept those awards, if we win Nationals, I will not be saying a word. I will immediately be handing the wife the. The mic. To my beautiful, lovey, God fearing wife.
Danny
Oh, my gosh.
Producer
I know you don't believe in astrology, but I'm just saying give major Capricorn energy right now, Jordan, because you want to know what? All the Capricorns would have went up there and been like, this is for the haters. When I tell you, if I ever win anything, I know exactly what I'm going to say to the kid in college that hurt my feelings.
Danny
Okay, but I'm Scorpio.
Producer
Yeah, but you. Well, we need to read your full charts, which you guys don't believe in it, but you have, like, different signs for different houses. So, like, your main sign is one thing, but then you have a sign that, like, it's.
Danny
Aren't Scorpios mean? No. Oh, okay.
Jordan
And actually they're misunderstood.
Producer
And actually Capricorns and Scorpios work really well together. It's just that your fights get.
Jordan
Oh, no, there's no. I mean, whether you're talking about the, The. The voodoo. The voodoo astrology or whether you're talking about the Enneagram, like, there is no doubt that our personality types are fire on teams.
Danny
Oh, personality types are, are.
Jordan
Like, you're, You're a three, I'm a one. Like, we will take over the world. Like, we are dominant as a team.
Danny
Were like, watch out, Donald Trump.
Jordan
You've had some, you've had some dreams lately that you've shared, and I have some big ideas for them.
Danny
Wait, what we'll talk about. I feel like I thought of one today and I was like, I got to do. Oh, my dating. Oh, yeah. Like, seriously, I'm going to kill it. Like, I'm here to, like, get people married and like, increase the, the birth rate in America.
Jordan
We're going on Hulu.
Danny
No, like, literally, Like, I'm like, producers call me. Like, I have two huge ideas. Like, if you want to skyrocket your views, call me. I'm not even kidding.
Carissa
No, I'll glory.
Danny
Jesus Christ. Did you watch this? Ted Cruz? Tucker. Tucker Carlson? No, I'm not gonna talk about politics. Like, I just want to talk about the interview. Have you watched it?
Jordan
No, I just saw clips like Tucker's so annoying. Oh, interesting take.
Danny
No, I agree with his questions that he asked. And like, like, Ted Cruz should have known.
Jordan
He was kind of douchey for sure.
Danny
Being so annoying. That type of energy in an interview is everything that I. I've never wanted to punch somebody across the face from a screen before.
Jordan
This is a very confusing topic politically because you're gonna have people who are on the left listening, being like, yeah, Tucker sucks. And then you're gonna have people on the right who are so confused that you hate Tucker.
Danny
No, and the thing is, as I don't hate Tucker, I don't feel. But like, I just watched the interview, like, just standalone. I watched that with Ted Cruz and I just hate the way he carried himself. Tucker Carlson. I hate whenever people sit down to have a conversation and then they're just like interrupting the other person, calling them names or just being like, obnoxious. And, and here's the thing. I think that Ted Cruz should have known the answer to a lot of the questions that Tucker asked.
Jordan
The intellectual pride. It was.
Danny
Yes. It was just like, you don't know the population of Iran.
Jordan
Intellectual pride is like the most frustrating, annoying thing to me. And it's blatant across tick tock and the Internet.
Danny
And then he asked him like, oh, well, what. What religion are they? Or tell me about Iran. And he wouldn't give him like, the actual, like, time to answer. Now, I'm not defending Ted Cruz like this, like, like, like literally. I'm literally not defending either side, but I just don't like the way that the conversation was carried and it just, it just annoys me. I, I hate that side of politics. That's all I wanted to say.
Jordan
Yeah, that's good. That's a hot take.
Danny
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What else? The memes are agree. And I've saved a lot of. Of reels and trends from everything going on because it is funny. And I'm also just trying to understand. There's some really good. If anybody else is trying to understand, like, what is going on. I highly recommend you listen to some Theoban interviews. Like, because he will dumb it down for you. So you understand he's no, he interviews people from the left.
Jordan
I would die to know the. The percentage of female followers of Theoban.
Danny
Honestly, because of me. Like, well, I'm sorry, I'm not saying, like, I'm looking like, influential, but I feel like I've, I've helped a lot of like, people understand what's going on by recommending the Ovon because He speaks to the layman.
Jordan
You know, you say you don't want to meet your heroes. Would you want to meet the Avon?
Danny
Yeah, yeah, for sure. I wouldn't even, like, geek out if you were like, in the room.
Jordan
Yeah, he's pretty approachable.
Danny
He's super approachable. And he's not like. I just, I. I really admire what. The only thing is, he just had on. Who's this guy? I listened to this interview this morning. I want to say Ron. Is that his name? I'm sorry, I'm butchering it. I'm. I'm really not that smart when it comes to this stuff. He just had. Yeah. Roana, who's that? Rona is the Congressman for California. 17th district, member of the Democratic Party. He had Rona on. He had J.D. vance on recently. So he talks to both sides about everything going on. And yeah, he just asks. Asks very approachable questions that we kind of all are. Are curious about. So anyway, that would be great for y' all to listen to. And then also mosh. Mosh. Mosh news.
Jordan
Yeah.
Danny
Bipartisan, like, just really makes it easy to understand everything going on.
Jordan
But do you should tell them about that, that interview that you were like, really interested in? The doctor who studies people who have near death experiences.
Danny
Oh, my gosh, y' all. How have I not told y' all this before? Okay, so last Thursday. Is it Thursday? Was it Thursday?
Producer
I don't know.
Jordan
Okay, your schedule.
Danny
So I'm like, so packed. I'm like, Tuesday, tennis, Wednesday, Pilates, Thursday, music class. Yeah. Five days, the lake. So. I'm kidding. I'm like. Anyway, so we had music class Thursdays and most of the group couldn't come, but there were the two Briannas, these new moms that I've met. One in my neighborhood and then one that lives like a little bit north Dallas. They came, they brought their babies, and I was like, this would be great. Like, I'm getting to know new moms. I've been so social lately. Like, I literally have so many friends right now. It's crazy. I've never had as many friends in my life. Okay. I've always been a loner, and I just feel so filled up and content and have so much joy because I've been really trying to make friends, and friends just make the world go round. Anyway, so I have two new friends and we were doing music class. And it's like, it's so funny that we, like, pay this teacher. It was like $300 for, like a certain amount of sessions. It was like, not cheap. Like, we each pay, like, 350.
Jordan
Oh, my gosh.
Danny
No, I know. And she comes and literally just sings like, itsy Bitsy Spider, like, to, like.
Jordan
Her iPhone music to talk, like, to newborns.
Danny
Newborns. And the newborns are like, like summits, like, falling asleep. And, like, the other babies are like, laying on their back, like, you know, so it's like, more for the moms. But we start chatting, like, while the teacher is singing because, you know, it's more for the moms. And my new friend, she just had a baby, like, same time, like four or five days off from Summit, and she's like, yeah, yeah, like, but I had a really hard postpartum and, like, pregnancy. She's like, I died on the table. Whenever I was giving birth, me and my sort of girl were like, what? And she's like. And like, literally the girl in the background is like, see Betsy Spider? And we're like, wait, we have to learn more. She tells us this story, y' all. Like, she like, I'm. I'm not, y' all. This is like a normal gal. Like, I'm going to try to have her on the podcast. Like, she is a sweetheart, okay? Like, normal person. She tells us about how she died on the table when she was having a C section with her first child. Her husband, like, literally witnesses her die, is like, basically, like, has 45 seconds of like, freak out because he's like, my wife is dead and I just have this newborn. The doctors are taking the baby out of her belly and she goes to another spiritual realm. And I'm not going to tell you everything that happens because I'm going to tease it because I want her to come on the podcast, but it is the craziest story. She has this spiritual experience. She's a Christian and comes back to life on the table and now has this, like, really cool near death experience she can share with people. So she was telling me about A doctor named Dr. Jeremy Long, right, who went on the Avon, and he has studied, I believe, over like, 14,000. It's either 1400 or 14,000. I know those are totally different numbers, but, like, whether.
Jordan
Whether it's one or the other, it's both statistically significant.
Danny
Yeah, both are a lot near death experiences. And the craziest part about all of these near death experiences, they're all similar. And the coolest part about near death experiences is it doesn't matter what religion or faith you come from. They all are very similar. They all have very similar elements. Whether you're Atheist, Christian, Jewish, they. And like, he also studies near death experiences from like other parts of the world and they're all similar and she has one of those stories. So anyway, I want her to come on the podcast, share her story, and then I want Jeremy Long to come on the podcast and share what he's learned. And then when you guys accept an award for something that you receive, you will be able to think of these podcasts and think, wow, it doesn't matter because we're all going to die one day and go to heaven. Just saying.
Jordan
That's good. Do we reach out to Jeremy Long?
Danny
Yeah, he said he's, he's too busy.
Jordan
Wait, really?
Producer
Yeah, you have to go through his company and then his company will tell you that.
Danny
Chris, does he know who we are? I'm trying.
Producer
I'm trying my best.
Danny
Does he. Has he never heard of the Influence?
Producer
They said they're going to give it to a women. A woman with the last. His same last name. I don't know if it's his wife, his daughter, whoever. And then she's going to show him this and if he's interested, they'll get back to us.
Danny
Wait, we should just like DM him on Instagram. Instagram.
Producer
I cannot find an Instagram page for him.
Danny
Oh, he probably doesn't have one.
Producer
Yeah, I think he's like, let's find his daughter.
Jordan
Yeah, let's talk her smart.
Producer
Yeah, let's go for the kids.
Danny
Let's go for the good, good call.
Producer
Anyways, I'll, I'll get on that, let you know next week.
Danny
Yes, please do. Because his interview with Theovon was so interesting. I mean, all of these stories that. And he actually has like a database where it's very like unbiased because he does everything by surveys. So people just submit their experience. They submit everything. It is all free to. They just express the way that they want to express what happened. And then he finds all these insane similarities.
Jordan
That is so great.
Danny
For example, I will just give you a couple things. When you meet. A lot of times they go to the spiritual realm and they do not know if it is heaven or a realm, but they oftentimes see their loved ones that have passed away. It is all telepathic. They rarely speak in. I know, we'll talk about that later. Like, it's typically telepathic where they just waiting for it. They just communicate like, it's just like. You understand what they're saying. Number three, it's. They don't typically have bodies. It's spirits. But you recognize that it's them. It's so weird. And I kept asking her. I was like, wait, so is there a body or face, whatever? She's like, no, but you just know that it's. That it's so weird. And another thing is not to give everything away. Typically, they do not want to come back to Earth. Typically, they want to stay in the spiritual realm. And they do not want. They love it so much, and they feel this insane amount of joy, and they see colors and things that they've never seen. The lights are a different shade of bright. She said it is basically having a Paris filter on everything. And they typically do not want to come back to Earth. And even. Sorry. Even though, like, they'll leave and they'll have, like, their children or their loved ones that are, like, so sad that they've passed away, they still don't want to come back.
Jordan
Has this changed your view on the telepathy tapes at all?
Danny
No.
Jordan
Zero.
Danny
No, because.
Jordan
Are you sure you're not just being stubborn?
Danny
They're not proclaiming Jesus. They're not proclaiming God. Like, I just don't. And fine, if it is, it is. But, like, I'm just. I'm not gonna go there.
Jordan
That's as close to it.
Danny
Like, fine, I'm not doing it. Like, proclaim Jesus and then I'll believe you. Sorry. Oh, you know what else I did?
Jordan
Oh, did you hear about the. The guy with the highest IQ ever? He said that he, like, he's a. He was like, I have the highest IQ ever, and Jesus is the son of God and he's a Christian. Just. It's circulating around the media right now.
Danny
I love it.
Jordan
So interesting.
Danny
I'll have to listen to that guy. Maybe we'll have him on the podcast. Yeah, I want to have a.
Jordan
He's probably busy right now.
Producer
Just give me the name.
Danny
Does he know who we are? Like, oh, my gosh.
Jordan
You can Google it. He's. He's everywhere right now.
Danny
You know what else I did?
Jordan
You should reach out to him now.
Danny
This weekend after we did so, we woke up the next day. We were, like, hungover from the amount of the lack of sleep that we had. And then we went to a christening, which sounds so. Christening.
Jordan
I loved it.
Danny
It was sweet.
Jordan
Super nice church.
Danny
Yeah. Maybe our Gen Z, our Gen Z producer is Catholic. Maybe you can, like, speak a little bit to, like, what a christening is, because I think. Can I just speak from, like, a Christian perspective? Like, so, like, we get baptized. Typically, it's when you want. When you decide that you want to accept Jesus into your heart and pursue a life like following Jesus, but as a baby, you don't know who Jesus is. But I thought it was a really beautiful proclamation to friends and family saying that we're going to raise this child as a child of God and, like, proclaim Jesus. So I want to know if it's more for the child or if it's more for the family or both. I don't know. And what's the holy water?
Jordan
No, holy water is real.
Producer
Yeah, for sure.
Jordan
Drives out demons.
Danny
I know I should have gotten some of that stuff.
Producer
You put it on.
Jordan
Well, Stella and Stratton were playing in.
Producer
It, so we're good. The house is good. So basically, when you are a baby, you obviously can't say, like, I want to be saved. So it's basically your parents saying it on your behalf so that if you were to pass away, then you could go to heaven, and they've claimed your rights for you. But then in the Catholic Church, so you do your baptism or christening, where your parents basically take the rights for you, and then you get your communion, Holy Trinity, Eucharist, and then you get your confirmation when you're like. I want to say it's like.
Jordan
Like 13.
Producer
Yeah, 13, 14. And that's where you get to redo your baptismal rights on your own. It's like, I just did that three weeks ago because I never did it, but I'm not 13.
Danny
So what was gonna ask you got.
Jordan
Confirmed a couple weeks ago. Oh, no way.
Danny
So you can do it at any age, but.
Producer
Yeah.
Jordan
What pushed you to do that?
Producer
I had a really rough year. Like, you guys had said same.
Danny
It wasn't because your job, right?
Producer
No, actually, you. I say this all the time, and maybe if I say it on the podcast, they'll believe me. This job saved my life. Like, truly. And I'm not saying that just because I love you guys and I want to keep my job, but I had a really rough year. And honestly, I didn't want to be here anymore. And I've always had a relationship with God, but in that moment, I was, like, about to not be here anymore, and I heard something, and it was like, no, like, don't, like, call 911. Try one more time. So I did. And when I got to the hospital, the guy was pretty much like, do you believe in anything? And I was like, yes, but I don't. Like, I hadn't been to church in forever. And so it happened that one of My very Catholic friends lived in Dallas from high school, which I went to high school in Chicago, so it's another weird coincidence. And she went to a Catholic church up the street. And when she found out what happened, I had, like, told her about my whole experience and how I was scared to go back into the church because I didn't. I wasn't really raised, like, knowing everything and what is it? What did you call it? Intellectual? Like, pride? Yes, I'm terrified of that, especially, like, in a church setting. And so I was always really scared of that.
Danny
And what is intellectual pride mean?
Producer
Like, just, like, knowing everything. And I was always scared people were going to judge me because, like, I didn't really know, like, even the sacraments.
Danny
Like, I. Oh, yeah.
Producer
Not really known anything about confrontation.
Danny
Because in Catholicism, there are a lot of sacraments and, like, a lot of, like, routine things that you. Yeah, right.
Producer
Yeah. And so it's like, it can be intimidating. Yeah. And you're supposed to go to, like, ccd, which for you guys would be Sunday school. And my parents, like, we stopped going to church altogether, so I felt super out of it. And she just said to me, like, hey, no pressure, but if you ever want to go with me, I go on Sundays at 5pm So I started going with her every week. And I just, like, truly, it just got me, like, out of the worst time in my life. And then a couple weeks later, you guys hired me and it like, yeah, no, it's like such a godly story, but. And then I actually. Because you have to renew your baptismal rights, so you have to say, like, I believe in one true God. There's only one God. There's only one Jesus. There's only one here, Holy Spirit. And I. I don't like to lie. And as any person, I have doubts. So I was really, like, anxious about it because I was like, is it normal? And my grandpa and my grandma are the ones who have kind of kept faith in my life. And my. My grandpa had passed, like, the week before I got my confirmation, and he literally, I swear, like, came over me one day and was just like. Like, I just felt like I was panicked about it, and I just felt like he was like, it's okay to doubt. Like, questioning things is normal. Like, that's not what they're saying. Just say, like, they. You can still believe. It's human to question things. Like, you don't have to feel like you have to be perfect. And I went through with it.
Danny
Wow, that's a cool story.
Producer
Yeah. So my confirmation Name is Carissa Rose. Catherine after a saint.
Carissa
Oh, I love that.
Producer
Yeah, you get to pick a saint. So I picked Catherine Drexel.
Danny
How. How many saints are there?
Producer
Oh, so many.
Danny
There's so many.
Producer
So many.
Danny
And what is Catherine Drexel? A saint?
Producer
Yeah. So she was like, basically, like, every saint has, like, kind of a cause, and she was the saint of, like, activism and, like, standing up for people that didn't have a voice.
Danny
Oh, I love that.
Producer
Yeah.
Danny
So that's what your kind of like, your mission is that you want to do. Stand up for the. The little guy. You and Theo. That's Theo's mission too. So I love that. Yeah, that's really special.
Jordan
Yeah, that's. That's. So how do they choose the. The saint name?
Producer
You choose it. You get to go through the database. So actually, you're gonna die. I pulled a Jordan and I used ChatGPT because there were so many. I was so overwhelmed.
Danny
I love that.
Producer
And so I had it, like, I.
Danny
Think, like, God, Jesus would, like, want us to use it. No, seriously, like, I. I'm trying to understand just so, not to be controversial, but I am trying to understand what the Bible says about, like, standing up for Israel and, like, be like.
Jordan
Yeah.
Danny
And. And I'm trying to understand if it's like, modern day Israel, if it's the people, if it's the. It's so confusing. And, like, I don't understand.
Jordan
Well, that's the difference in opinions, right? It's like some people are like the state of Israel.
Danny
Yes.
Jordan
Other people is like, the people. God's people of Israel.
Danny
And so I really feel like. So first of all, my. I've been really thinking about this, and I'm like, first I need to, like, understand all the facts. So I've been chatgpt, like, a lot of it. Like, I want to pull up all the scriptures, and not just the scriptures, but also, like, the meaning behind the scriptures. And then I'm going to take all the scriptures and then pray about it and be like, okay, did he really mean the people or the state or the place? Like, I don't know, but I feel like that's where the Holy Spirit comes in. And then that's whenever you have conviction, and then you can, like, proclaim what you believe. But right now I literally don't know. So there's my take on that. So, Anyway, thank you, ChatGPT, for helping me understand one day and for helping me pick my saint and for helping. For helping Karissa pick her seat. No, and I love that ChatGPT also can be used as, like, a little therapist these days. Like, you can literally. I. I upgraded to the one where you speak to it. And I was like. I was like. I literally, this morning, I was like, hey, chatgpt, like, which senators have, like, received money from these lobbyist organizations? And, like, which, like, I just talked to it. Like, like. And I'm not ashamed to ask it because it's not a real person, because I'm so ashamed to ask so many questions to, like, real people because I'm, like, embarrassed that I don't know what these things are. I'm like, what was the cause of World War II? Like, you know, and I'm like, I've studied it so much, but I just sometimes, like, I forget or I don't understand. And so, anyway, I just highly recommend. And it just talks back to you. Like, aggressive. Hey, girl. Like, so World War II was, like, a really complicated issue. And see, what happened was we invaded. You know, it's really.
Jordan
That's funny.
Danny
So how much time I feel like.
Jordan
We should wrap, because we are going to do what we love to do, which is look at houses.
Danny
Yeah. Well, I have to say, we guys, we might have found the one.
Jordan
It's true.
Producer
I'm so excited to hear about this.
Danny
I'm serious. It is Gorgina. Gorgina. Like, you know, I don't say Gorgina. No. I feel like Gorgina was millennial. I feel like we. We. We.
Producer
Maybe we're meshing. Maybe we're all becoming one.
Danny
No. Or maybe I am more Gen Z than I used to be, but it's so gorgeous. And I haven't felt butterflies about a house probably since we bought this house. But honestly, I didn't even feel butterflies at our lake house.
Carissa
I love it.
Danny
Don't get me wrong. But I was. That was more like a logical. So our kids can play outside, and then we can have more friends and. But this is like a feeling. It's like a. Yeah.
Jordan
I just realized there's. There's no room for a podcast studio.
Danny
Okay, never mind. Scratch it. We're not gonna get it.
Jordan
I just realized that.
Danny
Yep. Scratch it. It's not happening.
Producer
It's. Okay, guys. I can be. We can do it remotely if you want.
Danny
What about that room? The. The room that's painted black upstairs?
Jordan
I know. That's what I was thinking.
Danny
Too bad.
Jordan
Yeah. We'll figure it out.
Producer
We could get creative. Look at the house with open eyes first.
Danny
Yeah. Honestly, we could go to a studio for our podcast. Yeah, I would hate to, because we haven't come up here with no bra.
Jordan
Entire empty office space we could use for the podcast studio, which would be efficient.
Danny
The greenhouse.
Jordan
Greenhouse.
Danny
I want to sell that thing. Don't talk about it.
Jordan
Okay. Okay.
Danny
Okay.
Jordan
Bye.
Danny
Well, we love you guys. Thanks for listening to this podcast. Make sure you follow us on all the social media platforms. And we love you guys. Bye.

Release Date: June 26, 2025
In this candid episode of De-Influenced with Dani + Jordan, hosts Dani and her husband Jordan delve deep into their recent experience with the EY Entrepreneur of the Year nomination and subsequent win. Drawing from their extensive background in the influencer industry, they share unfiltered thoughts on recognition, leadership, and the dynamics of being in the public eye.
The episode begins with a lively exchange between Dani and Jordan about waking up early for the podcast. Amidst their morning routines, they reveal the big news: they were nominated for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award, a prestigious recognition typically dominated by Fortune 1000 companies.
Jordan: "EY is the most genius company for doing this because they basically have found a way to huddle up next to the top Fortune 1000 companies..." [02:30]
Dani: "How did this even come to be? Like, the Forbes list. Like, how'd this even happen?" [02:30]
Jordan explains that their nomination came through a sponsor, Dave Cochran, who recognized their company's potential and pushed their candidacy forward. The nomination process was rigorous, involving multiple interviews and evaluations.
Deciding to attend the gala in Palm Springs, Dani and Jordan prepared by inviting friends, family, and their closest executives. The evening was filled with anticipation as they sat among other nominees, many of whom were from sectors like energy and AI—industries unfamiliar to them.
Jordan: "We're changing scalp. We're changing..." [13:03]
(A playful reference to their company’s mission)
Throughout the night, as nominees from various industries were announced, Dani and Jordan anxiously watched their name not being mentioned, heightening their nerves. Their friends attempted to capture every reaction, but the tension was palpable.
Just when the night seemed to lean towards disappointment, the unexpected happened. As the final winners were about to be announced, Dani and Jordan braced themselves, even contemplating leaving the event early.
Dani: "I wanted you to win. Win." [21:03]
In a heartwarming twist, their company, Divi, was announced as the last winner of the night. The room erupted in applause as they received their award, making it a memorable and emotional victory.
The win brought forth a mix of emotions. Jordan expressed feelings of inadequacy and humility about being in the spotlight, while Dani emphasized the collaborative effort behind their success.
Dani:
"I feel like there's so, like, 90% of Divi is you. Like, 10%. Like, I. It was my idea. I was the visionary. I thought of the idea. But, like, everybody has ideas. Like, we all have ideas, and we all have ideas that will save the world. But to actually execute them and to have, like, a partner to help you, like, get it moving is a whole nother story. And that was you in the equation." [21:10]
Jordan acknowledged the significance of Dani’s contributions, reflecting on their partnership and mutual support.
Jordan:
"This is why God creates marriage. Like, we refine each other. We challenge each other." [36:10]
Dani shared her philosophy of humility and the transient nature of accolades in the grand scheme of life.
Dani:
"I'm like, we all gonna die one day, and... this piece of hardware that I won this evening... it's gonna mean nothing... but the people that we've met and the people that we speak to tonight and the message that I share... it will add to their mission." [35:55]
The episode underscores the importance of teamwork, humility, and recognizing the collective effort behind success. Dani and Jordan discuss how their partnership strengthens their business and personal lives, emphasizing that true leadership involves sharing credit and uplifting each other.
Jordan:
"You steward the success and steward the recognition for His glory better than I. I am learning how to do it by the way that you have done it." [40:28]
They also touch upon the broader implications of their win, considering how recognition affects their personal lives and the importance of staying grounded despite public accolades.
Dani and Jordan wrap up the episode reflecting on their journey, the challenges of being in the spotlight, and the profound gratitude they feel for their support system. Their story serves as an inspiring testament to the power of partnership, perseverance, and humility in the face of success.
Dani:
"This is why you should stop speaking that over yourself. Because that's not true... it's a way that God uses us in everything that we do." [34:34]
Jordan:
"It is supernatural how much recognition you have gotten that you have been able to still care about people on a deep and personal level." [40:28]
