The following podcast is a Dear media production. Hello and welcome back to your favorite podcast, De Influenced.
Danny
Babe.
Dani
How. How are you? It's been two days.
Jordan
Two podcasts. Two weeks or two podcasts in one week is the hardest weeks.
Dani
Well, they're not the hardest weeks, but it's. It is. Um, what? The reason we have to podcast two times in one week usually is because we're traveling or we have something. So it's actually really exciting because we leave for Costa Rica.
Jordan
That is true, but we leave. We're very bad at pacing ourselves. So if we have things we want to talk about, we're not good at breaking them up into two episodes.
Dani
True, true.
Jordan
So last episode was fire.
Dani
It was fire. It was a more serious episode. Very educational.
Jordan
Yeah, I. I didn't think it was serious. I had a blast.
Dani
No, me too.
Jordan
But you also said before it started recording, you said, hey, I don't have much to talk about, so you gotta carry this.
Dani
No. Every time we sit down to podcasts, I'm like, hey, just so you know, like, you need to carry this whole podcast.
Jordan
And then she usually talks a little
Dani
bit and then I don't shut up. Yeah. Tell me about the past couple days. I have a couple fun things that happened.
Jordan
Tell me. Cause I actually don't think I have anything that really happened. Significant in the past two days.
Dani
Okay. I have a lot of significant things that happened in the past.
Danny
Okay.
Dani
I got bamboozled.
Jordan
Yes, you did.
Dani
Bamboozled with a capital B. I can't believe how bamboozled this was. My 4 year old lied to me for like a full 48 hours. I mean, like this kid. So I found this like cute little play cafe to take my kids and they were just having a blast. You know, it's like one of those cafes you pay. It's basically like a co working space with like an indoor playground. Like, it's amazing. It was over in East Nashville. Met so many cute moms. We were there for like an hour and a half. Right when we were about to leave, Stratton trips on a truck. Like a toy. Now, I don't know if you remember this, but before we got married, I broke my big toe. You remember that?
Jordan
I do. I forgot how you did it.
Dani
I tripped on a dog toy and it was so painful. Funny enough, it was Bella's. My mom got her. My mom, like, got Bella her small dog, like one of these massive bones. Anyway, tripped on it. So painful. I remember Jordan. I went and told Jordan, like, oh, my gosh, that was the Most painful thing that ever happened. And I remember you laughed. Like, I'll never forget that. Because he was like. I don't know. You were, like, in a mood. And it. To this day, it has been, like, nine years, and it still hurts me. My big toe, like, still hurts. Cause you can't do anything when you break a toe.
Jordan
So are you sure you can't do anything?
Dani
You can, like, have surgery and stuff, but, like, no, you don't really, like, do anything when you break a toe.
Jordan
So you're telling me you woke up this morning and your big toe still hurt?
Dani
No, it still hurts. Like, that's why I get so mad whenever you. It. It hurts when you. When it goes down, when you push it down. So, like, you know when people. When you're getting, like, a pedicure. I don't know if you know this, but, like, they crack your toes sometimes. Like, almost like when you crack your knuckles. If they were to push my big toe down like that. Oh, my gosh. Hurt so bad. Still, to this day, the same amount of pain. Like, it doesn't go away. So actually, I went and got an X ray one time, and they're like, literally, there's, like, a chunk of bone missing from your big toe. So when I run a lot and stuff, like, the nice thing is I'm not a ballerina, so I don't really, like, point my toes down that much. But when I run, it hurts really bad. So anyway, the way he tripped on that toy was very reminiscent of my breaking of my big toe and his reaction and everything. And the thing about Stratton is he cries a lot. He has kind of a hard time regulating his emotions. He cried longer than normal, so. So I just knew, like, something was wrong. And I offered to, like, take him to, like, Dino Land and to take him to the park. And I was like, if you walk, like, I'll give you ice cream. Like, I tried all the bribery. Like, nothing works. I was like, okay, this is serious. But I said, let's go home. I'm gonna put on a. Put a show on for you, and we'll ice it, and we'll see after you go to bed. We'll see how you feel in the morning. So went to bed, put my kids. Or they got to watch a show.
Jordan
You know, wizard of Oz terrified them.
Dani
They. No, they hated it.
Jordan
So then he was under the bus.
Dani
I was like, this is a classic, y'. All.
Jordan
That's kind of when I knew, just, yeah, I want to read the story.
Dani
Yeah. He was like, My kids did not
Jordan
like that he was under the bed.
Dani
So then we watched Smurfs, which was just like, ugh. So next day, we wake up, he is still in pain. Not only that, his pinky toe is swollen and bruised. So I was like, this is serious. I was like, I'm a horrible mother because I made him sleep with a broken toe. And. And he will not walk on it, screaming, crying, whatever. Like, you know. So we call, like, one of those, like, urgent clinics, and we go in, and unfortunately, you know, we wait. We'd sign up. They're like, our X ray tech is not here. And I'm like, I know that's what they're gonna need. They're like, we'll still see you and, like, let you know, like, what's going on. I'm like, dude, we need an X ray. But we stay. We do the whole appointment. She feels around, and he's still in pain. And he's like. And she's like, yeah, like, you need to get X ray. So he still won't walk on it. So they give him a boot. And I'm like, I don't know. I'm getting signs of, like, maybe he's faking it. But, like, how horrible would that be if I'm the mom? That's like, he faked it, but, like, he actually had, like, a broken toe. So I get home from this because I'm like, I'm gonna just see if, like, he'll walk by tonight. So I got my stories. And, like, I'm like, yeah, so he has a boot on. Like, I don't think it's broken. I think it's. You know. And people reply to me, and they're like, wow, if I were you, I would have rushed him to the. To the next appointment to get an X ray. Like, wow, Danny, you should really take him. Like, poor thing.
Jordan
Were they really saying that?
Dani
Yes. So I deleted the story. Cause I was like, I'm not doing this. And I called the next place, and I was like, fine. Because you know what? You're right. Like, I'm gonna feel so guilty if he really does have a broken toe. So I drive out to Bellevue, which, I don't know, like, Google Maps took me, like, a crazy, crazy way. But I get out there, and, like, we wait in the waiting room. They didn't call ahead, so they didn't know we were coming. So it was like, this whole thing. I'm with Stella and Stratton. We wait, like, about an hour, and finally, like, we're about to be seen. Because there's. And then some lady comes in. I did say, like, bless her heart. Like, she was struggling. Like, she was screaming in pain. Like, it sounded like she was having, like, a birth.
Guest/Advertiser
Yeah.
Dani
And so they're like, sorry, we have to attend to this other girl. She's in more pain. I'm like, okay, Stratton. But Stratton's like, my toe purple. And so Stella and I are, like, making up so many games. Like, we're having so much fun. We're playing catch. We're playing, like, doctor, whatever. So I'm like, I know for a fact that Stratton, his toe is broken at this point. Because I'm like, he would what? Like, he's just sitting there, bored as all get out. And so I'm like. At this point, I'm, like, convinced, like, his toe is broken and it really is, like, swollen. Right. So they finally come in, and we get to finally have the X ray. He gets up on the table. They do all the pictures. He gets all the attention, you know, and, you know, Cel and I are hiding in the back from the X ray machine. We get to watch everything. And X rays are done. And I'm about to take him off the table, and he goes, what the doctor say? And I said, yeah. I said, she's gonna look at the X rays. And I didn't tell you this. He goes, can I walk? And I go, oh, my God. I go, yeah, you can walk. He gets up off the table and he walks, walks away. Literally walks away. I have been at this from 10am to 3pm all day. All day. I paid hundreds of dollars. I am, like, waiting for. I'm like, still. I'm also, like, so embarrassed that I also have been, like, asking these people, like, when's our appointments? So I leave out of there being like, yeah, come with the results. I'm really concerned, you know, I'm really worried because I'm so embarrassed that, like, he was actually faking it. So he, like, is walking out of there, and I pick him up because I'm like, I don't want them to see that. He's actually walking now. Oh, yeah. He faked the whole thing. The whole thing?
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
He got in the car, was walking around. He's running around when we get home. I could not believe it.
Jordan
So just, like, in hindsight, was that. Was that, like, an attention thing, or do you think psychologically he really had psyched himself out that he couldn't walk on his foot?
Dani
I think a little bit of Both. But I think my biggest issue, my biggest parenting issue I had here was that I allow my kids to watch shows whenever. Cause we're like, we don't do screens unless we have, like, a family movie. Movie night. And I allow my kids to watch shows when they're sick.
Jordan
Yep, true.
Dani
So, like, when it's because, like, when they're screaming, crying, or they're in pain, like, I feel so bad for them, and I would. I think in my head, like, what would I want to do do right now? Like, I would want to, like, chill, relax, and, like, watch a show, like, when you feel sick. That's all. If you're not gonna, like, be sleeping. That's all I want to do. So it's, like, kind of like my. You know, I'm trying to, like, care for them, but now they're so smart and manipulative that I should have known, because Stratton does on a daily basis and come up to daily basis, come up to me, and he says, mama, I hot. I hot. And then I always touch his forehead. I'm like, you're not hot. And then he does that.
Danny
He.
Dani
He, like, knows that doesn't work. So he goes, I cold, mama. I cold. And that doesn'. So now he knew, like, with the toe, that was his way.
Jordan
I have a theory, and my theory is that, okay, this is my thing with Stratton. So Stratton has an older sister that is very demanding, and, like, it's, like, always what she wants to do, even if. And listen, I say this from experience. I try and play games with Stella, and she gets mad at me because I'm not playing the game right. And we're, like, sword fighting. She's like, you're not doing it right.
Dani
She's like, daddy, you pretend to be the dragon. I'm the princess. Then I want you to come in here and knock three times.
Jordan
And she's bossy, so she's super bossy. And so, like, it always has to be her way. And I think that Stratton just really wants, like, to play his way, so he never gets time to himself.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
So I think what it is is that when he says that he's sick or he's hurt, he's actually trying to say, I'm bored and want to be left alone. And here's why is. We were at a tent last night outside tent on a farm for, like, a high school church service, and I brought Stratton with me because I was watching who was preaching. And it's, like, 98 degrees outside. And I'm like, having a conversation with this guy, and Stratton tugs on my shirt and I'm like, what's up, Stratton? He's like, I cold. And the guy goes, there's no way he's cold. And I was like, I know. I was like, he actually means he's bored. And so I feel like it's like he's communicating like, I want to be left alone or I want to have alone time by saying, oh, I'm sick or my toe hurts or what have you.
Dani
Like, oh, see, I just think he wants a show. And then the reason why they stick is because, like, he was sick. So usually they get to, like, pick the show whenever they're sick. But, like, I picked wizard of Oz. And that's why he went ballistic, because he lost control. He thought, like, oh, this is the one time I'll get to watch, you know, some, like, Lego man or whatever. But, like, I chose this show. So he was.
Jordan
I know, but I kind of feel for him because, like.
Dani
Like, when does he get to watch what he wants?
Jordan
No, when does he have control? Because, like, yeah, it's like, any time he's playing by himself, like, Stella is like, hey, what are you playing? We're going to go play Airplane. We're going to go play this.
Dani
But he kind of. He's like. He's like, pretty codependent on Stella, and he's always like, okay, I want to make Stella happy, though.
Jordan
I know this is the problem.
Dani
That's why I'm still in your shot.
Jordan
No, for sure, for sure. Like, I. We've talked about this. Like, I feel for him. I'm like, I understand.
Dani
You want your sister to be happy.
Jordan
You just want your sister to be happ.
Dani
Also, she'll be nice to you, but
Jordan
you also, like, kind of just, like, want to do your own thing, and you, like, kind of want to be left alone. You want to have some alone time. But he never gets it. When I took him to that church service. An angel.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
Like, we went. We went and got tacos before he sat the entire service through.
Dani
Oh, still, I could never.
Jordan
The only time he tugged on my shirt was when he was like, I'm cold. And it was, like, getting late. And he was probably, like, ready to go, but he was still so sweet about it.
Dani
Wow.
Jordan
And I was like, did you have fun? And he was like, I loved it. But you know what he said at the end? He goes, next time, let's have Stella come. And I. And I got down on my. I truly got down on one knee. And I go, hey, listen. I go, you're with Stella a lot. I was like, you know, sometimes I think you and Daddy should just go do things. What do you think? And he was like, okay.
Dani
Oh, great.
Jordan
It was.
Dani
It was so sweet.
Jordan
So I really feel like it's like he's just got, like, a nervous system that's just totally, like, torqued up all the time because. Yeah, because of his sister.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
And I get it. Sometimes she walks in the room and I freeze up, too.
Dani
I know. It does kind of stress me out when she walks in. I'm like, oh.
Jordan
And then. And then this is the funniest story is, like, we get back home and you're still at, like, your friend dinner or whatever. And we get back home and we were. The babysitter's like, hey. Stella's like, she said that you absolutely have to go up to her room and say goodnight. And so I'm like, okay. She's not asleep. So Stratton and I walk in and we, like, open the door really quietly, and she's got her face mask on, like, her furry princess face mask. And she hears us, and she literally rises up, rips off her eye mask, and she's like, where have y' all been? And in that moment, both Stratton and I both felt. We were like, I'm so sorry. And then we were like, it's okay, Stella. It wasn't even fun. We didn't get candy. And, like, she's like, did Bubba get candy? Cause you gave me a piece of candy. You needed to give Bubba a piece of candy? And she's like, daddy, listen, I'm gonna go to sleep. But you, everything that happened tomorrow morning, don't forget.
Dani
Funny.
Jordan
She's just like that.
Dani
Yeah, she's like that. You know, I get it.
Jordan
Like, you know, I'm summit in a totally different way. Because some it's just like, whatever.
Dani
But, yeah, some it's like, he's, like, wound up different. Yeah, no, Summit's like a nine on the Enneagram. Like, he's like the Peacemaker. He's like, just, like, chill.
Jordan
I think strands the Peacemaker. No, because Stratton wants there to be peace. I think some it's just like, whatever. I don't care if you're unhappy. Give me that toy. I'll eat it.
Dani
Yeah, that's very nine behavior. Just not going to stir the pot. What I was going to say is, like, I do kind of relate to silly. Because, like, I did Fake being sick a lot growing up, did you not?
Jordan
Me, too.
Dani
Yeah. Like, every kid did.
Jordan
Yeah. I would go into the school bathroom, wet my shirt, and then go to the nurse and be like, I threw up. Oh, and they bought it. Every time.
Dani
Every time, man, they just called me. I would just, like, rub my forehead, like, so many times to try to make it hot.
Jordan
Oh, that was overkill. It's true. No all the time idea.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
But it's easier to fake the stomach bug than it is a fever.
Dani
That's what I never did, the stomach bug. But, you know, it's hard. I think I was just, like, begging for attention to.
Jordan
Yeah. And I mean, a lot of people in your DMs, I will say, I don't know what they were saying before they were calling you bad mom for not getting X ray, but afterwards, they were like, oh, my gosh, this has happened to me. It was, like, a very relatable thing. They were like, our kids always, like, fake this. But they did clarify that it was usually their, like, second or third. Like, the middle children, who typically are just per capita, they get a little bit less attention because you typically have, like, a demanding firstborn.
Dani
I got to say, though, like, this felt, like, premeditated a little bit, maybe. Like, I feel like he was, like, planning this for a long time. I really do.
Jordan
No, I do think we sleep on him. No, I think he's like. That's what I've always said. He's the dark horse. He, like, kind of pretends like he doesn't know what's going on, but he knows what's going on.
Dani
He does. He does.
Jordan
He knows what's going on.
Dani
And the way he played this out was, like, pretty brilliant. Pretty brilliant. And, like, what kind of scares me is, like, I don't know, what do you call it? Like, the grit. He had, like, no shame because, like, we were there for a long time and, like, we were starving. Like, I had to go to Chick Fil A immediately after. And, like, he, like, he knew, like, he was sitting on that table for those two hours. Hours being like, these mother effers have no idea I'm faking this whole thing. You know? Like, it's kind of scary, but.
Jordan
But honestly, it gave him his power
Dani
back, and I love that for him.
Jordan
We love that.
Dani
Like, Bubba, just please don't lie about you being, like, hurt again, because it does kind of stress me out.
Danny
I don't know about y', all, but since moving to Nashville, we've been spending so much time outside this summer. By the end of the day I'm hot, exhausted, and there is always honestly nothing better than getting into a bed that actually feels cool. We've actually been sleeping on Cozy Earth bedding for years now, and it's kind of funny how we found them. Jordan went down a rabbit hole researching the best cooling sheets because we're both such hot sleepers, especially during the summer. We finally tried Cozy Earth and from the very first night we were hooked. They've honestly been our favorite sheets ever since. So getting to partner with a brand we've genuinely used and loved for years is honestly such a dream. It's one of those companies we've recommended to family and friends long before we ever worked with them. The sheets stay cool, they're unbelievably soft, and I honestly look forward to crawling into bed every night. With four kids, I'll take any little thing that helps me get better sleep. And having bedding that's actually comfortable makes such a difference. It feels so much more luxurious than regular sheets without sacrificing comfort. It's one of those things you don't realize you've been missing until you try it and then you never want to sleep on anything else. I also love that Cozy Earth really stands behind their products. They offer a 10 year warranty and 100 nights of hassle free returns on their bedding, which I think says a lot about how confident they are in the quality. Made from viscose from Bamboo, breathable, soft and built for summer. Head to cozyearth.com and use my code DANI for an exclusive 20% off. That's code DANI for an exclusive 20 percent off. I cannot believe we're already talking about Back to School season. I feel like this summer has absolutely flown by, but at the same time it's crazy how much kids grow over just a few months. Stella is getting ready to start kindergarten and she's already talking about what she's going to wear and how she wants to look on her first day. It's been so fun watching her start to figure out her own little personality and style. I actually remember feeling that way growing up too. Summer always felt like this reset. You'd spend the whole summer outside trying new things, making new friends, and somehow you'd head back to school feeling like a totally different version of yourself. Now that I'm the mom doing the back to school shopping, I totally get why my parents wanted one place where they could knock out everything. Especially with four kids, convenience is everything. That's one of the reasons I've been loving Ross lately. Obviously it's great for getting the kids ready for school, but honestly, I always end up finding things for myself too. I'll go in looking for back to school clothes for the kids and somehow leave with a cute outfit for me or something fun for the house. It's kind of become one of those stores where you never know what you're going to find and I love that. Whether you're shopping for clothes, school supplies, or even things for a dorm room, Ross has so many great options all in one place. And for everything this school year has in store, Ross has your style for it. At 20 to 60% off other retailers prices, it makes it easy to let your kids have fun finding pieces that fit their personality while making back to school shopping feel a whole lot less overwhelming so whether you've got a kindergartener, like we do, older kids heading back to school, or even someone moving into a dorm, Ross really does have something for everyone in the family. Find your nearest rosstores.com.
Dani
so, yeah, that happened. And then last night, I had a great time. I went to the Escape Room. The Escape game. The escape room game. I don't know. Wow, it was so fun. But I will say I kind of felt like. Like a baby. Whenever they flash all those, like, black and white cards, you know, that, like, it just, like, really wears a baby out.
Jordan
I think all escape rooms are the same.
Dani
Like, I did. Like, I solved, like, one clue, and I was like, I. I'm so tired. Like, I. The rest of it, I was, like, so checked out. I just, like, ran around with the girls and they were finding all the clues, and I'd be like, oh, yeah, it's that way. It's this way. Like, I was totally pretending. Like, I was like, after I saw that first one, I was like, I got nothing left up here. But it was, like, a really good one that I solved.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
And it was the first. So, like, I was, like, kind of like the hero. And we had kind of just all met, you know, and so it really, like, set the tone for the night.
Jordan
Like, how long did it take you guys? I'm not a big, like, escape room person.
Dani
No. But I think, like, I feel like we should do it again. What's so funny about this escape room is, like, we could do it all over again. And, like, I probably would forget the clues.
Jordan
Yeah. You know, because I would have fun doing it. Just you and I.
Dani
It's really hard. Like, super challenging. This was only a 6, but it felt more like an 8 out of 10. So, no, I almost feel like you need a big group because it's so much brain power. And it's so much, like. Especially when there's some of the clues that are, like, mathematical or, like, math, where, like. Or it's like a letter stands for a number type of thing. Like, that's just, like, a lot of brain power. But it was so fun. And they go all out. It's kind of like being at Disney World. These, like, little escape rooms.
Jordan
Yeah. No, I mean, I know Bridget really likes them.
Danny
Oh.
Dani
She's like.
Jordan
That was, like, her second question to me. And she was like, how do you feel about escape rooms?
Dani
Oh, yeah. Well, and it was great because when I got there, I didn't really know everyone, but, like, they were like, hey, like, your brother's on the wall in this bathroom. And I was like, see? I was like, you don't know who you're hanging out with. I was like, my brother's on the wall. And they're like, wait, what does your brother do? I'm like, he models for the escape room. I was like, who's your brother too? So, no, we had a great time. I met Bridget's friends. We went to Sushi san, or Sushi sans. I don't know how to. How to pronounce it.
Jordan
A veggie roll.
Dani
Yeah, I did. Super cool spot. Like, it's. It's off of 12 south, but it's like in this little pocket area. And it was like such a vibe. Like, I definitely did not dress appropriately because I kind of thought when they said, we're getting sushi, you know, like sushi places, sometimes they're like, more like, I don't know, chill. Holding the wall. Like, you never know. Like, sometimes. Yeah, sometimes the best sushi places are like hole in the wall. So I kind of was like, oh, it was not holding all the.
Jordan
Oh.
Dani
And you were like, I should have been wearing, like, definitely a crop top or a halter top or something.
Jordan
Did anyone say anything about your car?
Dani
Oh, my gosh, I'm so happy that you brought that up. I need to tell you something.
Jordan
You don't like it?
Dani
No, I love that car, but it feels different when you're driving it alone to a girl's night. Okay, so all the girls there had like a matte black Tesla. Like a raised up, like, massive wheels expedition black. Like, black Escalade. Like all these, like, fancy cars. And I come in, I'm like, beep, beep. Like in my little, like, green and white minivan. And like, I was like, this is such a vibe kill. Like I'm. I have no sex appeal right now. Nothing. It was.
Jordan
You could. I mean, people love it. I get questions about it all the time.
Dani
No, I know.
Jordan
I got a text this morning.
Dani
It just felt different. Going to, like, a swanky restaurant, like, pulling up to, like, a swanky restaurant. Like, girls night. Like, everybody's, like, dressed to the nines and I'm like, hey, you know, it just.
Jordan
You could have taken the golf cart.
Dani
Well, no, I came straight from the escape room. So I was just thinking about it and I was like, maybe. Yeah. No, I won't say it.
Guest/Advertiser
Say it.
Dani
No, it's okay. I just. I want you to read my mind.
Jordan
Yeah, I. You want a different car?
Dani
Well, no, I want that car. And I just want to drive It. When I have my kids.
Jordan
No, I know. You want a different car.
Dani
Well, I don't know. Just be thinking about it. My birthday.
Jordan
But I kept saying like, hey, this is like our kids car. And then Danny would get really mad that I would say it's the kids car issues, like, it's my car.
Dani
No, I know because it is my car and I love it. But it's just such a personality.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
It's like only one side of me, right? It's like, what about the side of me that's like.
Jordan
Yeah, yeah, the, you know, swanky.
Dani
Yeah, this, you know, the swanky cool girl that goes out like one time every month.
Jordan
I get it.
Dani
You know what I mean?
Jordan
No, I totally get what you mean.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
So we can work on that.
Dani
I know. We'll just. We'll just think about it. Birthday is an opportunity. Also, Christmas is like right after birthday, so it's like, that's good. And then Valentine's Day is right after that. So you just be thinking. So I did ask Bridget because I'm not really a huge car person, and I asked her what I should get, and I texted it to you last night. I had never even heard of these cars.
Jordan
I don't think you texted.
Dani
No, I did. I sent you a picture. It's a Grenadier. You know what those are?
Jordan
Oh, yeah, those are like. Really? Those are pretty rugged for you.
Dani
You don't think I'm rugged?
Jordan
No.
Dani
What?
Jordan
I mean, I can see you driving it, but. Yeah, I mean, it's. It's like a pretty, like wear hats now. No, I know. It's a pretty, like, girthy car. Oh, it's like, why are they so expensive? I think it's like. Like, it's like a G wagon, but, like, rugged like this.
Dani
Oh, yeah, those. They're cute.
Jordan
They're. They're becoming very popular.
Dani
It reminds me of like my Barbie Jeep that I used to have, you know?
Jordan
Yeah. Okay, well, we can talk about it.
Dani
We can talk about. I have no idea.
Jordan
But I understand. And I. And I. I do think that I saw this coming and I. It's okay. It's okay.
Dani
I will say, I also get. This is just weird, but, like, when I pull up at night and I get on my car.
Jordan
Mm.
Dani
Like, there's something. Like when I get on my car at night, like, I like to just go, like, straight to where I'm going. But the fact that I have to, like, go around and like, plug it in.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
Kind of scares me.
Jordan
No, I get it.
Dani
I'm Like, I just feel like I'm just bait.
Jordan
The other thing I would tell people if they are going to get an electric car is because this happens with the Tesla's too, is we right now like have we plug it into a standard garage outlet and then we have an extension cord and then it plugs into like the adapter and then we charge the car. It charges two miles every hour.
Dani
That's insane.
Jordan
It's insane. It takes over 50 hours to get a full charge. And so if you don't plug it in like each time that you're leaving it under that power source, it ain't going to work. You can get these like wall adapters, like the supercharger.
Dani
We need to get that put in our house.
Jordan
I know, but I don't want to get it put in this house because we're going to leave.
Dani
No, I know our next house.
Jordan
Oh, no saying so.
Dani
Did you tell them the builder?
Jordan
No, but I'll text him right now.
Dani
Yeah, you better, you better.
Jordan
But you have to get the supercharger because it's, it makes it almost like unfunctional as a car if you don't get that.
Dani
Yeah, I've been on like low battery since I got it.
Jordan
No, for sure. Yeah, 100%.
Dani
My mom ran out of battery in her car on the highway and like I kind of get it now. Yeah, I was like, how could she do that? And now like, oh, I understand.
Jordan
No, it makes total sense. And the other thing that's a downside if you get this van is you have to buy the adapter for the superchargers.
Dani
I think I should just like come out with like a new car brand. Like how hard is this really?
Jordan
I mean it almost bankrupted a billionaire Tesla.
Dani
Yeah, well, he was just like going like a little too crazy. Yeah, a little too much pride. You know.
Jordan
To be honest though, you probably do have a strong point because in the same way that you say there are not a lot of female home builders, there's not a lot of female car designers, most likely.
Dani
I mean, I'm serious.
Jordan
Like somebody's a Ford man.
Dani
Word. Yeah. Kia, probably a man.
Jordan
Prime man. We don't know really, but Toyota, Japanese man. I'm telling you, it's a huge market opportunity.
Dani
Email me, call me. It's just Yemi comment down below. Like I got. She got a lifetime of knowledge.
Jordan
She's got a lifetime of knowledge. But she's in her trad wife era so she will need a CEO.
Dani
I also just to give me like a little credit Like I've only had. Sorry, this actually doesn't have like I've only had two cars in my entire life. I drove the Mercedes C240 that I got in high school all the way like I think for 12 years. And like up until I got my Porsche Cayenne, which was like my dream car, we leased it and I loved that car like that. I would love to drive that car again. It just doesn't fit all my children.
Guest/Advertiser
Yeah.
Dani
So then I did the minivan, so. But my mom drove an expedition growing up. Explorer. Did you ever take your parents car out, like when it was like illegal, like when you're 14?
Jordan
No.
Dani
Oh, I did it all the time.
Jordan
No, never.
Dani
And that's so horrible.
Jordan
That is so horrible.
Dani
It's actually not though.
Jordan
Like, like what, what happens if you get pulled over in that instance?
Dani
I don't know. But I would only stay like in my neighborhood usually. Like I would drive it to my friend Bailey Curtis house when my parents are out of town.
Jordan
That is so crazy. That's.
Dani
I know. I'm kind of a bad girl sometimes.

One thing I've been trying to stay consistent with lately is my health. I've been in the gym more, trying to eat a lot more protein and just making better decisions overall. I'm not trying to be a bodybuilder. I just want to feel good, have more energy and keep up with our four kids. But it got me thinking. How do I actually know if any of it's working? You can feel good, but what's actually happening inside your body? That's why rhythm caught my attention. Rhythm is the world's easiest blood test to help you learn what's happening inside your body. You take it at home in about two minutes. No needles, just a simple collection device. You peel and stick on your arm, collect a small sample, mail it back, and get your results in just a few days. I like that it's not just a one time snapshot. You can test monthly and track over 30 different biomarkers. Things like cholesterol, inflammation, hormones, and metabolic health. If I'm putting in the work at the gym and trying to eat better, I think it's pretty cool to actually have data that shows whether those changes are making a difference instead of just hoping they are. The fact that you can do it all from home is honestly what sold me. No scheduling appointments, no waiting rooms. It just seems like a much easier way to stay on top of your health. Rhythm is only $79 per month, a fraction of traditional lab testing. It ships Right to your door and you can cancel anytime. Right now, Rhythm is offering our listeners 15% off your first month and free shipping at Rhythm Health dani. That's rhythm with one Hrythm Health Danny for 15% off your first month and free shipping. Stop guessing. Start testing. Rhythm Health Danny.

I feel like every family has those couple of kitchen things they use over and over again. And for us, it's definitely the Our Place Always Pan breakfast is pretty much controlled chaos around here, and Jordan uses it almost every morning to make eggs for the family. It's one of those products that's just become part of our routine because it works so well. When we packed up our house in Dallas to move to Nashville, there were certain things that I knew I wanted in our temporary kitchen right away. And our our Place Always Pan was one of them. The eggs slide right out. It's super easy to clean. And because it does so many different things, we're not constantly digging through cabinets looking for another pan. With four kids, anything that saves us time in the kitchen is a huge win. I also really appreciate products that make life feel a little less chaotic. Between work, moving and raising four little kids, I don't need more clutter in my kitchen. I love that Our Place cookware is multifunctional, so you're not filling your cabinets with a bunch of single use pieces you'll barely touch. And it really helps simplify things, which I appreciate. And honestly, it's beautiful. I actually love leaving it out on the stovetop because it looks so good. Another thing I really appreciate is that Our Place cookware has been made without forever chemicals since day one and is third party tested to meet global safety standards. It's just one of those brands that fits our lifestyle and has become part of our everyday routine. Upgrade your kitchen with Our place today. You know what I've realized since having four kids? Sometimes you don't need a huge vacation. You just need a day where someone else is making life feel easy. Between work, kids, activities, and everything else we've got going on, it's not always realistic to disappear for a weekend. But finding one day to slow down that actually feels doable. We're in a season where getting away for A weekend isn't always realistic, but making the most of one great day definitely is. That's why I thought Resort Pass was such a cool idea. Basically, you can book a day at luxury hotel pools, spas or cabanas without having to book a room. No overnight stay, no membership fees, and passes start at just $25. You can even book the same day if you decide you need a last minute reset. I could see us using it for a family pool day. Or even surprising Dani with a day where she can actually relax while I hang with the kids. Honestly, sometimes just getting out of your normal routine for a few hours is enough to come back feeling refreshed. They partner with over 2,500 luxury hotels and resorts across the U.S. mexico and the Caribbean. So chances are there's one close by wherever you are. And the whole thing takes less than five minutes to book. I like that it doesn't require a bunch of planning or turning it into this huge trip. It's just an easy way to take a break, spend time together, or recharge for a day. Visit resortpass.com Danny to get $20 off your first booking of $100 or more. else I learned a lot about last night was the business of. Because, you know, there's so many musicians here. I've been meeting like, like, like the wives of musicians or whatever. And I learned. Huh?
Jordan
No, wait, moms.
Dani
Moms?
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
Wives of musicians.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
I've been learning about like the business behind touring. Oh, it's like so expensive to tour.
Jordan
To fund it or to Both. Yeah, for sure. You're. You're renting out stadiums.
Dani
I know, but like, you know, I just. Just things I never really thought about.
Jordan
How much does it. So like just make up numbers, don't give like precise numbers, but like how much does it cost to go on a tour? Like a stadium tour?
Dani
Oh, gosh, I don't know. Stadium tours are like outrageous.
Jordan
Okay, just like what did you learn? Maybe.
Dani
I mean, what I learned is just how much of a percentage like all these people take from you.
Jordan
Oh yeah.
Dani
It's a lot. And then, like, tour buses are, like, 100K and, like, a lot of brands or a lot of bands have, like, multiple tour buses. And so, like, easily you're just like. And I mean, that's why they literally drop. Because I always wonder, I'm like, why are they driving, like, just fly. But now I'm like, oh, it makes sense. And they sleep on those tour buses every single night. Yeah. It sounds awful.
Jordan
No, it sounds like a horrible life.
Dani
It sounds like I. I honestly, like, don't blame, like, all these rock and rollers for being drug addicts. Like, I would be, too.
Jordan
Life on the road.
Dani
Life on the road.
Jordan
No, I mean, and then you have to go, and then you have to, like, be on. No, it's so hard for that many people and, like, the entire production, and
Dani
you're away from, like, your friends and
Jordan
family for the most part, and you're like.
Dani
And you're with these people that, like, you're with all the time. Like, you must get, like, really sick of them. I know why One Direction now broke up. It makes sense.
Jordan
Yeah. And didn't Harry Styles, like, go MIA for, like, a couple years?
Dani
Well, that's what I'm saying is, like, they probably were so sick of each other. I'd be sick of them, too.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
How the Jackson 5 do it for so long.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
And they were real brothers.
Jordan
So I was talking to one of the dude perfect guys about.
Dani
They went on tour.
Jordan
Yeah, they go on tour. And, you know, he was just talking about how hard it is. He was like, it's. It's one of our most rewarding things because we get to, like, interface with our followers and our fans and, like, for them, they use, like, as a big ministry opportunity. But he was like, when we're done.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
He was like, we cannot see each other for a little while.
Dani
Oh, yeah.
Jordan
Because we're. We're, like, done. We've been together. And I was like, how do y' all not fight? And he said that they play FIFA. That's what keeps them out of arguments.
Dani
Funny. We love that.
Jordan
But it's weird, like, because, you know, they're older guys, too. You know, I know they appeal to a really young demographic, but I could not imagine. Like, I went on a trip to Florida with unmarried guys when we were married and had, like, Stell and Stratton. And it was just like, I don't belong here anymore. Like, I'm married with kids. And so being married with kids on a tour bus with, like, other dudes that are married with kids. It's got to feel very.
Dani
Is weird.
Jordan
It's got to feel weird.
Danny
Yeah.
Jordan
It's got to feel like, okay, I know it's my job, but, like, I also, like, don't belong, babe.
Dani
Like, think about how hard that is. Like, if you were a musician.
Guest/Advertiser
Yeah.
Dani
And, like, you were leaving our kids, like, for weeks at a time.
Jordan
No.
Dani
Like, you'd be so homesick.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
And then, like, what if you were like, come out on the road with me? I'd be like, no. Like, I'm not going to go live in a tour bus with my four children.
Jordan
Right.
Dani
So hard. But then they're also, like, doing what they love.
Jordan
But then if I was like, it's also got to be hard in a relationship, because then if I'm, like, a rock star, hypothetically. And then, like, you know, there's all these, like, groupies around, you know, you've got to be like, yeah, yeah. I'm at home with the kids. And, like, there's this other life you're living. It's just. But the reason, I think that because I always wondered why these, like. Like, OG rock groups like Aerosmith or,
Dani
you know, go back on tour.
Jordan
Go back on tour.
Dani
It makes sense to me. Like, Backstreet Boys, too.
Jordan
It makes sense because, honestly, there's so much money in it and all of the touring they did prior, there were so many hands in the cookie jar.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
That they're probably not walking away as, like, wealthy as you think. Yeah. They go through. I like entertainers, most of them. Unless you're like a Tom Cruise, Kevin Hart mogul, superstar. They walk away and they have. They go through seasons of being rich, but they never. It's hard to transition that into, like, wealth that you can live off and see.
Dani
I have a different theory.
Jordan
What is it?
Dani
Of why these bands, like, get back together, like, 20 years later and go back on tour.
Jordan
You don't think it's money?
Dani
No, I think that they. So they go on tour when they're, like, up and coming, rising to fame, super famous, and they probably do the whole tour thing, like the Jonas Brothers, like, probably super unhealthy because they've never done it before. They don't know how to do it. They don't know how to, like. Like, even split percentages, whatever. So they probably go and they're, like, so burnt out and so tired. They're probably take a break for, like, 20 years. They're like, I'm gonna go raise kids, have, you know, have a family, get married and I think their kids grow up and they're like, wait, I'm. I miss this part of it, and I'm going to go back to it with so much more wisdom and do it, like, the right, healthy way. Like the Backstreet Boys. I feel like, the way that, like, they have so much, like, longevity with their career now, because I feel like they have, like, boundaries, and they, like, know exactly how to go on tour and be healthy and do. You know, it's like. And I think they just, like, love the music side. They love the performing side, but they know what not to do now. Like the Jonas Brothers, like, they're back together. Like, the. Oh, I don't know if, like, the three, but they are, like, close again. Whenever they had their moment, they had to, like, break apart, go do their own things. And now it's like, okay, we're. We've grown up. We've learned our lessons. Like, let's do this the right way.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
Because if you're a performer, like, once
Jordan
a performer, always performer, it's like. And I also now empathize with, like, musicians who cancel shows or, like, cancel, because it's like, you know, the. The PTSD it gives me is like, when you had, like, a team of five, right? And like, the entire.
Dani
I think seven.
Jordan
Seven. Yeah, probably seven. The entire business orchestrated around your output. And so then I just remember, like. Like realizing the pressure you felt during those times to be like, hey, if I don't go, this whole thing doesn't go. And, like, you love the people who are on your team, and you can take what you felt and you witnessed and maximize that times, like, 50 for, like, tours. But you got managers now. You've got fans.
Dani
You've got, like, selling, like, millions of tickets.
Jordan
You can't. You can't be off. You can't be off for a second.
Dani
I'm telling you, it changes.
Jordan
That's why Taylor Swift and I would be so curious to, like, really understand how Forest Frank is doing. The reason for it is, like, he's going through the traditional touring system. You know, he's got JP Pakluda, who's been on this podcast with him. Yeah, I think he's, like, going around different cities with him.
Dani
Oh, why? Just to, like, mentor him or, like,
Jordan
think he's a part of the show? I don't know. I've never been to a Forest Frank concert. But you know what?
Dani
I think bringing a pastor is a good idea.
Jordan
No, I think it's a. If that's why he's doing it. I think it's a genius idea. But it's interesting for him because he's obviously trying to walk very faithfully, you know, in his faith, through a really trying, like, just circumstantial event, which is a tour.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
And it would just be interesting to hear his perspective of, like, life on the road and touring while also being a father and, like, a Christian.
Guest/Advertiser
It's.
Jordan
It's just got to be interesting.
Dani
Does he live in Nashville?
Jordan
No, I think he lived in Waco.
Dani
What?
Jordan
Yeah, that's how he knew J.P. wait,
Dani
I did not know that.
Jordan
Yeah, I think he was, like, in Waco, and then I think he went to Arizona, maybe California.
Dani
Yeah, you're right. He's like, a skateboarder, so it makes sense. Yeah, I don't see a lot of skateboarders in Nashville.
Jordan
No.
Dani
Anyway, okay. So I do want to move on.
Jordan
Okay.
Dani
With. Only because we did promise our audience a Q and A. So we had people submit questions. Oh, you didn't know.
Jordan
No, I didn't know.
Dani
Okay, so we have some questions from the audience, and I kind of want to get to them.
Jordan
Should I pull them up, too, so that.
Dani
No, I'll ask. Oh, okay. Yeah. So I'm going to ask you first. They wanted, like, a life update about our move. How are you really doing being away from both of your families? How has the transition to Nashville been overall?
Jordan
Oh, you want to take that one?
Dani
No. Okay. You want me to?
Guest/Advertiser
Yeah, you take it.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
Okay. So how have we really been doing away from our families, and how's the transition been? It almost feels like whenever you go to college and you're like, oh, I'm away from my parents. You know, I kind of feel that way because we've lived in Dallas near our parents, like, I mean, our entire lives, except for college. And I think what's special about moving to a new city where you don't have as much family is you really have to, like, rely on your kids community and build community. Like, usually whenever we need a babysitter or something, like, we're sick or whatever. Like, you could so easily call your family and your parents, which is so great. But it's also really sweet to, like, build that type of, like, trust and community. We're, like, super reliant on them. And so I feel like being apart from them has, like, really helped us make good friends really fast. Therefore, I feel like the transition has been easier. And I have so many, like, cool people that have, like, really taken care of us. I think you feel that same way. With some of the guys. Yeah. That have made the transition, like, so easy, and, like, I feel so thankful for them. They've invited us to everything. Birthday parties, escape rooms.
Jordan
I mean, this girl's wearing. And if you're not watching her hat literally says, nashville is my happy place.
Dani
Well, it's, like, funny because, like, everybody's like, you're so touristy with these hats. And I'm like, I know. I love that.
Jordan
But it's also the truth.
Dani
But it's also, like, the truth, like. And. Yeah, so I felt like it's good, of course. Like, I'm. It's. I miss parts of Dallas, and I miss being so close to our family, but, you know, they're going to be here all the time. It almost will make the time that we have with our family, like, more special because it'll be, like, when they come visit, we'll, like, really cram in some fun stuff.
Jordan
Yeah, I agree. I mean, I think that I miss the kids being able to see their grandparents as much, but I. They've been FaceTiming, but I think for, like, our nuclear family, like, no question, this is 100% where we were supposed to be.
Dani
So I have, like, a good question. What's been the worst part of Nashville? The worst part of the move, or, like. Nothing.
Jordan
Nothing.
Dani
I mean, it's more humid here than I thought it was going to be.
Jordan
It's a little bit more humid. So, like, there's been a lot of things we've had to, like, get in order just, like, naturally with the move, like finding babysitters and, you know, like, getting all of our furniture here. And I would say, like, there's a little bit of a mental load that I'm, like, looking forward to getting a little bit more settled to where I feel, like, okay, stable. It's, like, a little bit more peaceful. I would say also the hardest part for. For me, and I don't know if you'll feel this, too, is realizing, like, what we want to bring from our old lives into our new life, like, working rhythms and, like, you know, just, like, daily routines and commitments, little habits and commitments and what we say yes to and what we say no to. There's been a lot of things that, you know, a lot of habits or work rhythms in particular that were. That I would follow in my Dallas life that, like, I've not really wanted to have here, but, like, I've had to, like, take these calls or being on these standing meetings or whatever, and that's been hard to kind of sift Through.
Dani
I know the worst thing about moving to Nashville. Oh, our sleep.
Jordan
Yeah, I was gonna say sleep, but it's so generic.
Dani
But yeah, I'm exhausted I think because of the move. Like Smith's sleep routine is totally off.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
So like for example, he was up at 12:30 and 4:30. Oh, I do want to talk about this. This is a really great time to talk about this.
Jordan
Oh gosh.
Dani
No, it's not bad. Okay, I do want to know. So Smith has not been sleeping through the night a lot. He's either doing like that, you know where he's up at 12 and 4 or he's up at 3:30 and Jordan has been the one to get up and feed him every night. Do you feel resentment over that?
Jordan
No.
Dani
Frustration towards you?
Jordan
Yeah, no.
Dani
Do you feel like I should be doing it sometimes?
Jordan
No, no.
Dani
Why?
Jordan
I mean this, this sounds so basic but like I feel like you do the 9:30 feed and I appreciate that and so I'm like, oh, this is just like my job.
Dani
Oh really?
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
9:30 at night feed 9:30 at night.
Jordan
Yeah, but I am, I, I will, I don't feel resentment, but I, I think I'm starting to realize I'm very tired. Like I, I mean, because it's not just he wakes up at 5, it's like 4:45 and if he wakes up in the middle of the night, it's like I'm. Yeah, I'm pretty tired.
Dani
I know. And this is so horrible of me. And I'm not saying that this is like justifies anything, but sometimes I'm like, now you know what it felt like to be pregnant for four years?
Jordan
No, for sure.
Dani
I mean, I, it's the hardest. Like I. That's how you sleep when you're pregnant.
Jordan
Yeah, I don't.
Dani
Not at all.
Jordan
The I, the only time I, I would say the only time I feel and I wouldn't even say the word is resentment, but frustration, frustration and, or overwhelm is probably the best word is like if you sleep in on the weekends. I feel very overwhelmed because it's like Smith, like I've been up for two and a half hours and then the four kids come down and they're like I'm starving. And I'm just like, okay, but let
Dani
me just say the morning that you did that, that I did that you still had more hours of sleep than me.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
Your sleep score was like a 90 and mine was like a 75.
Jordan
I know, but I didn't feel it.
Dani
I'm just saying it's true.
Jordan
The. The downside.
Dani
So funny because, like, he's like, I'm so tired. I've been up with him forever and he still has more sleep than me.
Jordan
Yeah. The downside to having an eight sleep is you can kind of quantify who's right, who's wrong. Like, I could be like, I'm tired.
Dani
Yeah. And I'm like, well.
Danny
Really?
Dani
You have a 98 sleep score. No, I slept eight hours and 30 minutes last night.
Jordan
Yeah. And I feel like you. The reason I don't feel resentment is like, I also feel like you're a lot more and you're transitioning into. This is like you're really present during the day. Like if I'm on calls and stuff. Like. I know. And I know that that's a lot too. So.
Dani
Okay, let's see.
Jordan
But I'm tired. I know I'm tired right now.
Dani
I know. I know. I can tell.
Jordan
He Woke up at 4:30.
Dani
I know.
Jordan
And I was like, I'm just gonna let him cry it out and go back to sleep. And then he just didn't. And then the, The. The funniest thing is, like, I get up with him and he's not even hungry. He just starts laughing. And I'm like, you're. I'm like, I'm mad at you. That's how I feel. I'm not mad at you, Danny. I'm mad at him because he doesn't understand.
Dani
He's so cute, though. Okay, moving on to the next question.
Jordan
Did your team move with you? Slash, what does work look like now?
Dani
Our team did not move with us. We tried. We offered them. We tried to get stars. One of them is married to a doctor. And I was like, veritable's there. I was like, I can call some people. I don't know no one. But yeah, so we tried, but they probably cannot move. But they're still working for us remote, which has been great. They came up last week for the Nordstrom anniversary sale to help me with some content and some meetings and stuff that we had. So they were here for three days. So we'll probably just do that like once a month where they fly out for three days and we just kind of cram everything we need to do in there. I have a new girl that's working for me in Nashville. Not full time, but she's been helping me a lot with, like, filming and some content, some brand deals I have, and she's been great. And so, yeah, our team is kind of all over. The nice thing is we can work remote. Same with Divi. Like, whenever we have right now, we're doing. We're planning, like, a big product launch. We're super excited about something's coming, and all of that is over Zoom. And it's, like, so efficient and so great. You know, I hate meetings.
Jordan
I'm like, Danny hates me.
Dani
I hate him. I'm like this. Like, seriously, we're talking about this for an hour.
Jordan
Like, text me.
Dani
I'm like, word vomit. Like, this is like, not doing anything. I'm like, okay. Like, what are we going to do, though?
Jordan
Yeah, you're a workhorse.
Dani
I'm a workhorse.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
I don't like talking about work. I just like doing it. In fact, talking about it makes me a little anxious.
Jordan
I know. And Divi hired a CEO a while ago, and so they're fully remote, so no one would have moved here.
Dani
And the nice thing about Divi is, like, I am 100 involved in, like, creating the formulas and, like, product innovation and stuff, product development, but everything else, like, we have people that are way smarter than me doing a lot of Divi. So, you know, I get in on, like, the, like, some of the marketing concepts, but, like, sometimes not even. So I get to kind of pick and choose, like, what I'm involved in, which has been really fun. So. So yeah, we're all kind of working remote. We got the remote life going. All right. Oh. The next question was Smith. Update. How's he sleeping? We'll skip that one. How would you describe each of your kids in three words? Why three words? That's so specific. Oh, three words. Like, one word each.
Jordan
Yeah, one word each.
Dani
Okay. Stella. Me?
Jordan
Yeah, I was gonna say intelligence.
Dani
So sweet. Stratton. Emotional.
Jordan
Yeah. I was gonna say emotionally intelligent. High E high.
Dani
Babe. Yeah, I guess we can hyphenate it. Summit.
Jordan
Bro. Lacrosse.
Danny
Chill.
Dani
Smith.
Jordan
Rascal.
Dani
I was gonna say, like, happy.
Jordan
Yeah, he's happy.
Dani
He's such a happy baby.
Jordan
It's so hard to know what his personality is right now.
Dani
No, but, like, you can tell. You can tell, like, because Stella didn't smile at all, like, for her first, like, three years of life.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
Do you remember how, like, I was like, I used to cry. I'd be like, she's, like, so mean. You remember? Cuz, like, I would be like, stella. And she was, like, so serious. I was like, she doesn't like me.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
She's, like, so obsessed with me.
Jordan
But she loves you.
Dani
She literally, like, all day long is like, mommy, I just love you. I love you so Much, Mommy. Like, I love you so much. And it's just like, I know. I'm so amazing for you. I love you too. No, but Smith has more of, like, the Summit personality, like, as a baby, because Summit was very smiley, giggly like that.
Jordan
I have a great question. This is not on the script, but because the. The funniest thing about our family is there is a through line that goes from tornado to Danny to Stella. Like, that is three peas in a pod.
Dani
We are three tornadoes.
Jordan
They are three tornadoes. And it's like, if they were together, you'd be like, whoa, don't. Like, literally, you should just leave the room.
Dani
Like, you should be scared, or else
Jordan
you're gonna have to join this. So. So I'm curious. Like, what. Because she's so similar to you.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
What would you want to teach Stella and either, like, not pass down to her, like, what would you want her to know about you to be? Like, hey, you're gonna encounter this.
Dani
I was very insecure as a kid. Like, very insecure. And I compared myself to, like, the other little girls all the time. And I want to protect her from that, but I don't know how, because I just feel like sometimes these things are, like, you're just born with it. Like, some kids are, like, super confident, outgoing, bubbly, and they just, like, are like that. And I feel like I just wasn't. I was very shy, more reserved, like, you know, and. And I just.
Danny
Yeah.
Dani
Like, every time I went, I. I remember. I mean, probably up until I was in, like, high school, I was so embarrassed of my dark under eyes that, like, whenever I would go anywhere, and I. Because, like, nobody was, like, wearing makeup when you're, like, in fourth grade. But, like, I would, like, sneak some of my mom's concealer and, like, put it on, and I was so embarrassed. And, like, anywhere I went, I would. And I didn't even want my mom to know I was wearing concealer. And I'd, like, go put it on the bathroom because I was so. And I remember one time. This is, like, so sad. I went to tj. TJ Maxx with my mom because that's, like, the only place we ever went. Like, we went probably three times a week. I'm not even kidding. And I remember I was probably, I want to say, in second grade, and I was trying on clothes because my mom loved to, like, buy me new clothes. We loved to try. And, like, we just loved shopping there together. And I remember in second grade, I looked in the mirror and I started crying, and My mom was like, why are you crying? I go, I'm so ugly. Like, I literally thought I was so ugly when I was in second grade that I was so embarrassed. I was so embarrassed to go anywhere. And I don't want Stella to feel that way, but, like, I don't know.
Jordan
So. Can I ask you something?
Dani
That's why I've always, like, been, like, overly humble. Not to the point where it's like, oh, she's humble. It's, like, because of, like, probably, like, an insecurity that I. That I have. That, like. Like, it's very hard for me to feel, like, like, good about myself.
Jordan
So that trait you're describing, is that, like, all little girls, or do you feel like you were, like, uniquely insecure?
Dani
No, I think it's a lot of little girls. I think a lot of little. But. But then there's also some little girls. Like, I had a friend who. She was a little bit, like, you know, on the thicker side, you know, and she wore these crop tops in second grade, and she, like, babe, she literally thought she had the best voice ever, and she would sing every day at recess, and, like, she's so Me. She had a horrible voice, and we would just, like, listen to her, and I'd be like, how does she think that she's good? And, like, she truly, like, every single time they ask, like, what do you want to be when you grow up? She's like, I want to be a singer. And, like, we're all like, dude, like, you're not going to be a singer. And I, like, love. I look back at that, and I'm like, that is so sweet. Like, I love that she had that innocence and that, like, confidence. And I would have never been like that. Yeah, you know, we do, like, get in a room, and we'd be like, okay, let's all sing, like, our real voices. Like, did you ever do that?
Jordan
No.
Dani
It must be, like, a girl thing. But, like, we'd sit around a circle and be like, all right, I'm going to go first. Like, we would all sing, like, our real voices.
Jordan
It's so funny, because the reason I asked that is I do feel like I do see that in Stell a little bit.
Dani
I know. Like, a little insecure, like, constantly. Like, she gets embarrassed really easily embarrassed. Oh, I'm so embarrassed. Easily, like, to the point where it's like, you make it more embarrassing because of how you're acting. And I see it took me a long time to gain my confidence, and I think a lot of it I. Here's the hard thing. I think a lot of it was, like, really good for me because I feel like I was never able to, like, rely on maybe these, like, external things. Like, I had to, like, right. Have a decent personality or I had to, like, really challenge myself to talk to people. And, like, I had to, like, really work, you know, you have to, like, work for it whenever it's just not. I don't know.
Jordan
So here's the question. So I think your mom identified that same probably insecurity and timidity in you too. And she probably tried from a good place. She probably tried to pull that out so that you would be more confidence. Confident. What would you. What worked and what didn't work and how would you teach Stella?
Dani
I think that the. I think, honestly the best thing or what I've been doing for Stella, because I always felt like my shot. Like, being shy was wrong.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
Like, I felt like being shy was embarrassing. It was wrong. Like, I felt like I was always being confused compared to other girls that had more outgoing personalities than me. So it made me feel even worse about it. And so I always tell Zilla, I'm like, I don't care if you're shy. Like, you can be shy. You don't have to go talk to that girl. You don't have to play with them, but you have to be kind and you have to have manners.
Jordan
Right.
Dani
So I always tell her, it's okay to be shy, you know, and besides that, I mean, a lot of times I feel like it's like protecting them from things that they're, like, going to compare themselves to. But you also, like, can't protect them from everything.
Jordan
Yeah, but you can protect, like, how we communicate comparison to them.
Dani
Yeah. So I try to never, like, be like, oh, like, you should go, like, dress like that other little girl. You should be like that other. Like, be outgoing like that other little girl. Because she's been hanging out a lot with Ella Favre, who's like, obviously the most outgoing 7 year old on the planet. She's a star and she's a star and she's. And Stella's very different than her. Like, you know, once Stella opens up, she's outgoing too, but she's very. She's way more shy and reserved. And I always like. I'm like, I'm like, that's so great about Ella. But it's okay that you're not like, like that.
Jordan
It's okay that she's adopted some of her mannerisms. No.
Dani
Really?
Jordan
Yeah, for sure.
Dani
Still is very impressionable. And I was, too. I still am. Like, if I hang out with someone that uses a certain type of word or they move their hands a certain type of way, I will adopt it 100 all the time. Like, my roommate in college always went like this with her hair. So, like, I started doing that. And then my friend Becca. Remember Becca?
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
She always. Whenever you would talk to her, she would go like this. Like, when she was really trying to understand, I started doing that. Like, I. I just copy everybody's mannerisms. I don't really have anything of my own.
Guest/Advertiser
Yeah.
Jordan
I feel all the same ways that you feel about Stella. Like, you see yourself in her. I feel. That was Stratton. Yeah, I feel it. And I told you that. And I was like, I really. I really want to really analyze, like, what I would have done differently as a kid.
Dani
I think you're a great dad to Stratton.
Jordan
Yeah, I know. He. He's someone that. I even realized this last night. It's so hard with four, but, like, he needs way more one on one time.
Dani
Yeah. You do a great job with Stratton doing one on one, though.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
I probably should do a little bit better. But it's so hard because still, like, it's so upset. Like, you can't go anywhere without her. She'll like, be mad at you for days. But, yeah, for sure. Okay. I wanted to ask you, do you want to have more babies?
Jordan
Honestly, it was so funny. I was talking to. So at this church service, it's like on a farm where they also do a homeschool thing.
Dani
I have no idea what you're gonna say.
Jordan
Well, she was saying that she has four. And I was talking. I was like, yeah, you know what? We're in Nashville. Big families. Maybe we just have more. And then I woke up this morning,
Dani
you're like, what was like 4. 45?
Jordan
And I was like, no, you're crazy. I was like, you're crazy. Jordan.
Dani
Do you think it's, like, a mental illness that I want to have more? Not to be. Not like. But like, it's like, not because it's like, oh, having big families is bad. Sorry. Like, that's not. But, like, I'm not okay, and I want another one.
Jordan
I think it's okay. I think this is controversial to say. I think it's borderline irresponsible.
Dani
Okay, no, I'll take it. I'll receive that.
Jordan
No, no, no. I'm saying I feel the same. We're in the same boat. I feel like it's borderline irresponsible because I think at what point when you keep pushing for more children, are you putting like the bigger picture at risk?
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
But you know, whether it be like our marriage or our relationship or our sanity or like our time with the
Dani
other four, they start taking care of each other. They become like a little pact and that's something like, you know, it's actually
Jordan
probably good for them, but we haven't seen that yet.
Dani
Yeah, we haven't seen that yet.
Danny
They're not old.
Jordan
Thing is like, people say that all the time and they're probably right. So someone who is maybe four years ahead of us can coach us and be like, man, don't slow down, keep having more. But like, we've never told us that we, we have never experienced relief in any sense because the minute that we get relief of our kids, like being a certain age where they can like get dressed by themselves, we have three others that can't. And then by the time they're all self sufficient, we have another one.
Dani
It's psychotic behavior and something that we haven't really shared. I don't think I've shared it ever on Instagram or on the podcast, but maybe I have. But Smith was in the 1 percentile with his weight. So I have been like, that's why he's not also not sleeping through the night is because I am doing zero sleep training. Like when he cries, I just feed him, cry, feed him because I just want him to gain weight. And so now he's in the 5 percentile. And like there is, I've like hired doctors and therapists and ots and pts and all the things. And everybody's like, yeah, he's fine, he's just developing in like his own time. And he's on like he has like a consistent growth curve so there's nothing to be concerned about. But of course, like as a mom, like my friend Ellie's baby at a month old weighs as much as smith weighs at 4 months old. Like, that's it. It worries me, you know, and so it's things like that that like are so stressful. And then I'm like, I can't imagine going through all of this and then also being pregnant and feeling sick and feeling guilty about like it would be so, so hard. And so when you say, when you say irresponsible, it's like mentally too.
Jordan
No, that's what I mean. I would say predominantly, I mean mentally a little bit physically in the sense
Dani
that like my uterus might fall out
Jordan
no, well, sure, it's possible, but, like, I meant, like, okay, so when you're pregnant, you go. You have really hard pregnancies. I think that's just factual at this point.
Dani
And
Jordan
with the others, it's like, I could carry the load of, like, managing two or three. I. If you're out.
Dani
Yeah, no, it's not good.
Jordan
I don't think I can do it all. Like, I. And I. I would be worried about being stretched so thin mentally myself and then, like, needing to be the strong person for both of us. Like, I just don't. I don't know. I guarantee everyone's going to be like, God will provide in the comments. Like, he's gonna be gracious to you. And I'm like, save it. Save it, you Nashville moms. I don't want to hear it. Okay. Are we planning on staying in Nashville long term?
Dani
Yeah. I'm never going back.
Jordan
I. I was. My answer was going to be, I think that we will be in Nashville to raise our children. I think we will go further out is my guess.
Dani
Yeah.
Jordan
Probably with more lands. And then I think that the. Even if we weren't in Nashville, I don't ever see us being called back to Dallas. What's something you would de influence right now?
Dani
Oh, something I would de influence right now. I did go off on the Hatch Sound Machine. Sound Machine. I can't say Sound Machine saw that. They're horrible.
Jordan
I hate them.
Dani
They're the worst.
Jordan
Don't charge Nanit too.
Dani
Oh, I like Nanit.
Jordan
Well, I just don't understand. Why are you making me pay a subscription?
Dani
No.
Jordan
Core product.
Dani
No, I agree.
Jordan
It's like, for Hatch to, like, hide features behind a paywall. Like, what, Paying? I'm paying a monthly subscription for a Sound Machine.
Dani
No, it's. It's.
Jordan
That's crazy.
Dani
It's nasty.
Jordan
That's crazy.
Dani
So did you see I, like, replace them all with, like, Amazon ones for $15 and we can travel with them. They're so much smaller.
Jordan
I know. The only problem is the Hatch does have it to where, like, you can schedule it to where it turns green in the morning when they can, like, get up and come down.
Dani
Do you have to pay for that feature?
Guest/Advertiser
Yes.
Dani
Yeah, that's exactly. I'm not paying for that.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
It's so silly.
Jordan
Well, if they start coming down, I'm
Dani
like, just use the sun. When you see the sun up, you
Jordan
can go outside the sun. I can tell you from experience this morning, the sun does come up at 5:05. So I don't know if you feel that.
Dani
Well, why don't you just let them get up and play in that little playroom until we come get them?
Jordan
They. Daddy. Daddy. Stratton. Hit me. Daddy, can you come do this? Like, it's like. It's just.
Dani
I know. You know, something I want to talk to you about is, like, you've been getting on them for, like, not sleeping long enough. But, like, I didn't sleep. I always Woke up at 5:00am until I was like, 13, 14, 15 years old. Like, it's just. I don't know, the way that I was wired. Also, you've been getting onto them for being such picky eaters. And I was, too. And you probably were, too.
Jordan
Yeah, it's just. Yeah, okay, this is what I'm saying. I don't. I think I am a little bit more irritable because I need to sleep, you know? So if anyone's feeling that in the family, it's probably.
Dani
Except for we both got seven hours last night.
Jordan
Just saying
Dani
maybe.
Jordan
I just want you to listen and understand, okay?
Dani
I love you.
Jordan
What are the best and worst parts of being an influencer?
Dani
The best parts totally outweigh the bad parts.
Danny
I'm.
Dani
I love it.
Jordan
She loves it. She'll do it till the day she dies.
Dani
I literally will be in a wheelchair going to the Nordstrom anniversary sale, sharing my favorite finds. I.
Jordan
What's so funny, too just about you, that I just want to say is, like, people crap on influencers all the time because they're like. They're just doing this for the money. She. They're saying this. Ask Danny how much money she makes. She has zero clue. Like, she has zero clue. Any single number that goes on.
Dani
It's true.
Jordan
Zero clue.
Dani
I typically, like, will be like, how much money did we make last year? And then I get, like, one update and I'm like, okay, like, let's try to beat it. And then I just. Just, like, go into my zone and I never asked for another girl.
Jordan
Like, if she feels like she, like, bought a designer bag, which she can for sure afford. She has this weird girl math ledger in her brain where she's like, I need to start selling my clothes, like, because I'm guilty for buying this bag. And it's just the funniest thing.
Dani
The times that I splurge on my clothes is when I've allowed myself to splurge on my clothes. Whenever I'm, like, representing Divi or I'm going to an event because somebody somewhere, one time told me that it was important for me to have a nice image when I'm representing Divi. And so I was like, I use it as an excuse.
Jordan
Who said that?
Dani
I don't know.
Jordan
Or did you ever not have a nice image?
Dani
I guess they just were like, yeah, you should. If you're gonna spend money on, like, your outfits and, like, go all out, it's like, you should dress well for Divi, you know, if you're gonna be, like, the founder of Divi. And I was like, say no more.
Jordan
The other thing I would say, and I don't know if you agree with this. I don't even really feel like, if you. Like, I don't think that you or our family thinks about yourself as an influencer. Like, you might say it as, like,
Dani
no, I look at all that. I look at all the influencers that are influencers now, and I'm like, y' all don't even know. Like, you're not. Like, you're not og. Like, we are.
Jordan
But what I'm saying is, like, I feel like.
Dani
Like, I've been doing this for almost 15 years. It's very rare to find, like, an influencer that's been doing this for 15 years.
Jordan
That's what I'm saying is I don't even think. Because you don't know how much money you make. I don't even think you see it as, like, a job. I think it's just a part of you.
Dani
No, exactly. I started when I was 19. I was a baby. Like, I don't know a life without it. I bet. I also don't want to know a life without it. Like, I love it so much. I love the freedom to share what I want to share. I love the way that I can pivot. Like, I love that I can, like, use it to help people. I love that I can do it when I'm bored. Like, a lot of times, I just start doing it when I'm bored, truly. You know, like, and, like, usually when I find, like, a good book, I just don't work as much. But I have to be careful because, like, if I find a good book, like, I'm actually not working for a while.
Jordan
I know you still haven't opened up Theo Gold or whatever.
Dani
Yeah. Oh, Theo golden or whatever.
Danny
Yeah.
Dani
Yeah. And, yeah, I just, like, love. It's also, like, a really fun challenge because I love to, like, teach people new things or I just love storytelling.
Jordan
What is the worst part about it?
Dani
I mean, a lot of people don't like me, which is hard sometimes, but that's probably the hardest part.
Jordan
I would say the hardest part for our family is I call it, like, proactive pr. So, like, you know, so many things on the Internet are misconstrued or, like, it's like. Especially since TikTok came out, like, it's like. Like, you. You pull it a thread, and it's like you build a narrative out of the thread. And for the people on the receiving end of that narrative, it's almost entirely. It's. It's impossible to unwind the ball of yarn because it's like you're operating off of this fact. That's not true. But I don't know how to go back and explain that one fast.
Dani
Okay, so I would say the hardest part is that I often want to defend myself or create content to explain something, but then that, like, just everybody knows it always makes it worse. Or it's just, like, giving more attention. You're almost, like, making the issue bigger. So then I just don't. And that's, like, frustrating because a lot of times, like, I want to be, like, I just want to, like, get on and defend myself.
Jordan
Yeah.
Dani
So I just have to ignore it. And that's annoying because you have to, like, swallow your pride when you ignore something like that. Like, and I think as human beings, like, we just want. We want life to be fairer. And, like, sometimes we're just a little bit more prideful. And, like, my ego, sometimes it's, like, really hurt whenever people are saying all this stuff that's, like, not true. And then I have to be like, just live with it and just let people believe a lie.
Guest/Advertiser
Yeah.
Dani
Or sometimes I did make a mistake, and I am a. I'm a little rascal.
Jordan
Yeah, that's good.
Dani
What's the hardest part for you?
Jordan
I would say that, like, I would say I don't mind it being a part of our lives by any means. I think over the past couple years, like, I've really, like, if I go to an event, like, a local event in Nashville or meet new friends, like, when I'm meeting you, I am not meeting you as, like, oh, my wife, or our family has a following on Instagram, I'm like, hey, this is real me. And so it's hard when some of the narratives get so out of control that it affects, like, a relationship. A relationship. Or, like, how I feel walking into, like, real life rooms. Because I've just learned you've been doing it way longer. But I think since COVID there's been such a vast rift between real life and, like, actual life, like, the real world and what's going on in the real world and, like, how digitally consumed someone is. And you can tell this by, like, you know, people's mental health, their mental state. There was this article I was reading in my email newsletter, and it was talking about how, like, women in the South. It was like a. Like a New York Times article or something, and it was like, women in the south are keeping New York fashion in business because they actually have places to go and dress up.
Dani
Oh, funny.
Jordan
And they were like, we're seeing the collapse of, like, consumer economies and, like, buying things in urban women. Because they're like, what? I don't. They're just. Their whole lives are online.
Dani
Oh, funny.
Jordan
And so their drama's online. Their communities are online. And that just, like. Like, does something to people. And so I think it's hard to, like, exist in that world and this world sometimes. But it's not a big deal.
Danny
I mean, those are pretty good questions. Do we want to do any more?
Jordan
No. Let's go.
Dani
Okay.
Jordan
Irish, goodbye.
Dani
Well, bye. This was a lot of fun, babe. We talked about some really, really tough topics.
Jordan
We did.
Dani
Thank you guys for listening. Make sure you check us out on Instagram TikTok D influence podcast. Leave a comment down below with maybe, like, another, you know, question that we can answer on our next podcast. We're going to Costa Rica, though, so we'll update you on that trip. We're super excited. We love you guys, and we'll talk to you soon.

In this candid, humorous, and relatable episode, hosts Dani and her husband Jordan share personal stories from their family life, discuss their recent move to Nashville, reflect on the quirks of parenting, and answer listener questions about life transitions and influencer culture. With their trademark banter and vulnerability, the episode centers around themes of trust (especially in parenting), family dynamics, and keeping it real amid social media pressures.
Listener questions covered:
Witty, self-deprecating, engaged, and real—the episode is filled with playful banter (“I come in, I’m like, beep, beep, in my little green and white minivan…”), humility about parenting fails, and a willingness to poke fun at their own habits and anxieties. Both Dani and Jordan balance humor with moments of real vulnerability and practical insight—a hallmark of their “de-influencing” style.
This episode embodies the ethos of "De-Influenced"—demystifying influencer culture and keeping it transparent about family messes, marriage, work, and the struggles and rewards of living life publicly. Listeners get meaningful, funny, and trustworthy reflections that offer solidarity for anyone navigating modern parenthood, relationships, or online scrutiny.
