Hey everybody, this is Justin from the Generation Y podcast and I want to tell you about a multi part series on a case that we are releasing right now. It's about a murder that happened in New Zealand. There's a guy named Mark Lundy. He's married to his wife Christine and they have a seven year old daughter, Amber. Mark happens to be a traveling salesman and on the morning of August 29th of 2000, he takes off on a business trip. Mark's not doing too well financially. Mark has increased his life insurance policies on his family and Mark is spending the night with a sex worker. Meanwhile, Mark's wife and daughter will be brutally murdered inside their home. At their funeral, Mark falls down in despair and people have to physically carry him away. All of the onlookers thought this was an overreaction. He's acting and the investigators into this crime. Let's just say that Mark is their number one suspect. The only problem is Mark is over 130km away. Mark has made two phone calls. One at 5.30pm and another one at 8.28pm his phone pings off towers next to his hotel that he's staying at. Does he have enough time to drive all the way home, commit this murder and get back to his hotel? Investigators also have a witness that allegedly puts him at the scene of the crime. They also have DNA evidence on his clothing. With all that, this case sounds pretty open and shut. Mark Lundy will be tried and convicted. He will appeal that conviction, get a new trial and be tried and convicted a second time. But this time the prosecution has to change the entire narrative to make the evidence fit.
