| DSH #2015 What is ranch life really like behind the viral videos? In this Digital Social Hour episode, Sean Kelly sits down with Granny Bibbins and Gatlin Didier to talk about life on the ranch, going viral online, building a family beef business, and why farming is much harder than most people realize. They break down what it takes to run a multi-generational ranch, why beef prices may keep rising, how supply chain pressure is affecting ranchers, and why American beef is some of the cleanest and safest protein in the world. The conversation also covers Oklahoma farm life, social media success, old-school country living, bull riding, family business, USDA labeling, grass-fed beef, meat sticks, farming costs, tractors, cattle markets, and the reality of building a brand without losing authenticity. Granny Bibbins and Gatlin Didier also shares stories from growing up before phones and modern technology, life as a lunch lady, cooking for family, dealing with wildlife on the ran...

Gatlin
There's a big worry that supply chain the next 18, 24 months that people think beef's expensive now.
Sean
It's going to get worse.
Gatlin
It's going to get worse. Oh God.
Granny (Ms. K)
A lot of people don't realize farming, how farming is. Yeah, farming, ranching.
Sean
Farming is a tough lifestyle, right?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yes, very tough.
Gatlin
We literally. America has the cleanest, best protein. When it comes to people argue and say, no, like grain, finish all that. No. When you do the true testing and with our medicine practices and everything, we have the cleanest, safest beef in protein in the world.
Sean
Okay, guys, got Granny and gallon here. Flew in from the ranch today all the way to Las Vegas. Let's go. When was the last time you guys were out here?
Granny (Ms. K)
It's probably been three years for me.
Gatlin
Three years?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. Probably three or four.
Gatlin
What, that George Strait concert?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
That was six years.
Granny (Ms. K)
It was six years.
Gatlin
Damn. Time flies. Yeah. Before. Before the pandemic. Yeah.
Sean
Wow. Time flies.
Gatlin
And then I was here actually a few weeks ago visiting some like hermosi in that group.
Sean
Oh, okay. Were you at the workshop?
Gatlin
Yeah, just checking out them and they've been helping us with the miss. The Miss Case.
Sean
Nice.
Gatlin
So we've been. That was. Didn't think I'd be that. This good.
Sean
Yeah, but you said a launch. You're launching something.
Gatlin
Yeah, launching that here. Pretty soon her little. Her little.
Sean
It'll probably drop when this is out, so maybe give some details on that.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah. If you want to. Do you want to plug it real quick or you know, you want to wait, we could. We're cool. Whatever. You want to plug it?
Granny (Ms. K)
Plug our miss Case.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
Miss Case.
Granny (Ms. K)
Neck.
Gatlin
Well, before you do, what did you tell me on the little car ride over here? You said this is your first podcast to what to come to in person first.
Granny (Ms. K)
I've already. Yeah.
Gatlin
Oh, you told him that?
Granny (Ms. K)
I told him. He. Yeah, it was the first person I told her.
Sean
I'm honored. She told me out there. I'm like, I'm honored.
Granny (Ms. K)
I said I came to him. Usually I make them come to me cuz, you know, I'm old.
Sean
Well, you're the queen and you got a nice ranch. I wouldn't mind coming out there one of these days.
Gatlin
Maybe next next one we'll do it.
Sean
Yeah. How big is it? Like how many acres we're talking? You don't even know.
Gatlin
Concumably, it would depend.
Granny (Ms. K)
I have no idea. But the original is 320 acres.
Sean
Wow.
Gatlin
Just. Just that.
Sean
Wow.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. Just. Yeah. Yeah. That's 300.
Sean
That's one of the biggest I've heard, but.
Gatlin
But beyond that, it's like if you combine all the new stuff and then mix with. My. My uncle runs this operation alongside of us, so like all of our stuff combines like 8,000. Jeez. Yeah. So good. Good size.
Sean
You guys are living nice.
Gatlin
Not many neighbors around us.
Granny (Ms. K)
Not really. It's a lot of work.
Sean
That's true too. That is very true.
Granny (Ms. K)
You see a cedar tree come up, you got to go cut it.
Sean
How come? What do you. What do you cut?
Gatlin
That one?
Granny (Ms. K)
You don't like cedar trees?
Gatlin
Cedar trees? No. They're very invasive.
Sean
Oh, really? I didn't know that.
Granny (Ms. K)
Very invasive.
Sean
So they'll eat your other trees.
Gatlin
They just take over the land. Yeah, you can't use it for pasture, grazing and all that, so. Yeah, they're good wind blockers.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, yeah, they're wind blockers, but yeah, it's six of one, half a dozen of the other you don't want.
Gatlin
Kane's arch nemesis is cedar trees and these weeds called musk thistles. Right. Russian musk thistles. Yeah.
Sean
What do those do?
Gatlin
They're just like.
Granny (Ms. K)
Just a weed that you don't want.
Sean
Oh, God.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
Weeds are just ugly in general.
Gatlin
And they're big and they make like a big white flowers. They just stand out. So if you have a big bunch of them in your pasture, it's just. It's not a pretty sight.
Granny (Ms. K)
No. So you got to. In fact, when he was in high school, when you.
Gatlin
I was even a teenage years, like way younger, part of my like chores was.
Granny (Ms. K)
Right. His granddad got him and his. Some of his friends and made them pull those messels out of the ground because you had to pull the Ritz roots and all.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
So you're getting put to work. Yeah.
Gatlin
And they have thorns on them, like rose bushes.
Sean
Oh, wow.
Gatlin
At the bottom. But no one told us this. We're just grabbing them bare handed. And so we learned over time, you know, get work gloves, get a bag. We got more efficient with it.
Granny (Ms. K)
But they cleaned it up pretty good. So we don't have too many now.
Sean
But what about animals? You got to chase them off.
Gatlin
I mean, we live a lot of Riverland, so a lot of wild hogs, coyotes. Coyotes to like a lot of people, we call them coyotes.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
I mean, we have a lot of turkeys. Everything you can think around that deer like crazy.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. And my only problem is with armadillos.
Sean
You don't like armadillos?
Granny (Ms. K)
No.
Sean
I've never seen one. I know they're hard shelled on the outside.
Gatlin
You should see her shoot one. It's pretty funny.
Sean
Yes. Why? They freak out.
Gatlin
Oh, they. When. Tell them what happens when you shoot them.
Granny (Ms. K)
When they just jump up and down and up and down and up and down until they die.
Sean
Wow.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
Armadillos.
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh, I probably shouldn't say that, but.
Sean
No, you could say die. There's worse words these days.
Granny (Ms. K)
They dig holes in your yard like that.
Sean
Oh, that's annoying.
Granny (Ms. K)
Just all over the yard. Yes.
Sean
Armadillos. Wow. You did all sorts of stuff.
Gatlin
Raccoons and skunks.
Sean
Yeah, skunks got to be the hardest to deal with, right? Does it smell?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, they smell pretty bad.
Sean
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
The worst is when she traps them. Then they're the babies. She doesn't want to take them out.
Sean
I would feel bad with babies.
Gatlin
Since I was a little kid, I was like. I was like Old Yeller and little skunks and raccoons. But somebody had to do it.
Granny (Ms. K)
So when you live out in the country, that's what you have to deal with all the time. Is
Sean
animals different type of problem than living out in Vegas?
Gatlin
There's animals out here.
Sean
We get some coyotes. They take the small dogs.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
So if you have a smog dog, you got to watch out.
Gatlin
Mountain lion stuff out here too, or.
Sean
No, I haven't seen a mountain lion. No, no, I saw.
Gatlin
I saw an animal outside the hotel last night. Really?
Sean
On the strip?
Gatlin
No, it was. It was a homeless guy
Sean
we're starting.
Gatlin
He looked like he's acting like a little animal.
Sean
Yeah, I just had someone on the show that goes in the tunnels.
Gatlin
Oh, really?
Sean
Yeah. Have you heard of those out here? Yeah, I have the tunnels, dude. Super dark.
Gatlin
What do you see?
Sean
Dude, goes on for miles. Pitch black. There's a leader down there. Mole people. It's pretty dangerous. Yeah.
Gatlin
Is that like the move, that movie that came out a couple years ago, Jordan Peele movie, and that was kind of based loosely on like that type of.
Sean
I didn't. I don't know if I saw that one.
Gatlin
Us or something like that.
Sean
Oh, us. Yeah. Underground network. Yeah, probably similar. Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
Well, they say a lot of cities have underground networks.
Gatlin
You know, we don't have any underground, thank goodness. That we know of.
Granny (Ms. K)
No, that we know. No, for sure.
Sean
Let's talk for. For people that haven't seen you guys, you basically went viral on social media.
Gatlin
Right.
Sean
I want to talk about, like, how that happened.
Gatlin
I'll let you tell.
Granny (Ms. K)
Okay. Well, the story was when he came back from California, he would just come in and he'd say, okay, let's go out here and do this. And I'm going, okay, fine with me. Whatever. And then he'd come in and I'd be shelling pecans on the floor. He'd tape that, you know, and just anything I was doing, he'd tape. And then he got into a little deal about hussies.
Sean
Hussies?
Gatlin
Yeah, hussies that tell him what a hussy is.
Sean
Yeah. What is up?
Granny (Ms. K)
Well, we called them California hussies, didn't we? Or something like that.
Gatlin
Well, you'd say for almost. For like, a tramp or what? It's like an old farm, like 1940s, 50s way of saying.
Sean
Oh, got it.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. I'd get after him with the hot shot and tell him because the TikTok
Gatlin
had a lot of stance. Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
So then we done that, and then we got into. Is that when we come into Granny Bibbinson?
Gatlin
Yeah. It was all like. It's mixed with, like. We always brought it back to, like, farm life, but we always blended it with humor.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
And it's basically how he says, like, we're like, if the Andy Griffith show and south park had a weird baby. And it's, like, skidded mixed with, like, a SNL skit. Yeah. It's kind of how we always approached it because it's like. It's all relatable from, like, a broad perspective, but the setting is on our farm.
Sean
Got it. You guys keep it raw, Which I noticed.
Gatlin
Very, very, very raw. From meat to jokes. Yeah, we. Yeah.
Sean
Which I like. People like that authenticity these days, I feel like.
Gatlin
Well, I think that's what makes it work. Because.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
She's just heard.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. I don't. I said, you know, I just do whatever. And.
Sean
Yeah, you don't switch up. You're doing. You're doing that stuff anyways.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
You know, you're just filming it.
Gatlin
That's what you heard about. I don't even have to think. I just come in and she's already doing it. I'm like, hey, let's make a video about it. She's like, sure, let's do it.
Sean
Yeah, that's cool.
Gatlin
She's always been down to have a good time.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. Y date. And I love to read. And he brought me the book Chaos.
Sean
Chaos.
Granny (Ms. K)
And he came in one day and he asked me if I was reading it. And I said, yeah, it's chaotic.
Gatlin
That's the one. That's the one. The CIA mixed with Charles Manson, afk. Like, the Guy who's doing a article back in like back in the 90s.
Granny (Ms. K)
He was trying to prove something. Yeah.
Gatlin
Connected big. Kept finding NK Ultra and all this stuff.
Sean
So that sounds like a good one.
Gatlin
It's top tenor.
Sean
I'm into all those conspiracy theories.
Gatlin
It's a good one.
Sean
Yeah, The CIA is doing some wild stuff, but that's a whole nother.
Gatlin
That is. Yeah, but she likes to like dabble and she loves a good like story. So I was like, this will tell you the 1960s, grandma. So like enlighten it a lot. So.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, I read a lot. Yeah. Yeah, it was fun.
Sean
What's your favorite time period? Decade wise? Like 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s.
Granny (Ms. K)
No, I don't have a really special time. I just like autobiographies about people. Yeah, I just like to read about.
Sean
Yeah, I like history too. Yes.
Gatlin
Why? Asked her this question one time and I forgot what you said to it. But when you've lived how many decades now? Like nine decades total from the time you're born to now. Yeah.
Sean
She's 84 now, right?
Gatlin
Yeah. Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
And that's pretty close to 85.
Gatlin
You did at one time you told me. I think you said something about the 60s or the 70s was like your favorite. I think I remember you somewhere in there.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
But she does change. She's kind of. I said she rides the fence a lot. She switched teams on us. She's a code switcher sometimes.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yes.
Sean
So as someone, we. We both never lived through that era. What was that like the 60s and the 70s?
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh, it was nothing like today, I'll tell you for sure.
Sean
Doesn't surprise me.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, it was, you know, we just had our own stuff that we played with. You know, no social media, no nothing. Yeah, no phone to nothing. You know, we had the phones on the wall that.
Sean
I actually did have that though. I had a house phone.
Granny (Ms. K)
You did?
Sean
Yeah, growing up.
Gatlin
Yeah. I did see the dial we even have. We kept an old dial one. Oh, really?
Sean
Wow.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
But we had a party line. We had to have rings, you know, ours was like two rings and somebody else's, but you could listen to them too, so.
Gatlin
Whoa.
Sean
Yeah, that's weird.
Gatlin
Shared lines with your neighbor or like
Sean
the person in the next room?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, well, no, in the other houses.
Sean
Oh. What?
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh, yeah.
Sean
I don't know if I like that. I don't want people hearing my calls, you know.
Granny (Ms. K)
That was fun. Yeah. And then later on though, our neighbor got TV and we would want to run over to watch TV with them, you know, and things like that.
Sean
Yeah. I used to love TV as a kid. Now I don't even watch it. It's crazy how fast things evolve.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, exactly. That's with me. I'm not too enthused anymore, but as a kid, you know, it was amazing to see that. And then we roller skated. We. That was our big thing to do was roller skate. We roller skated. I roller skated till I was about, what, 60, probably.
Gatlin
Wow. Yeah. You were still out there until I was like, 10, 65 or so.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, we roller skated. My brother, in fact, he had a roller skating rink, so.
Sean
Nice.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Her sister was on the Jay Leno show. Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Like, they're.
Gatlin
They're like. They're like. Her family's, like, very talented roller skaters. So random. Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
She could go under the bar. Yeah, the bar. Real low. And so he got her on there, and she went under that.
Sean
That's a lost sport, roller skating.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
I feel like no one does it anymore.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, they don't as much, but it's fun. It was fun.
Sean
I feel like when we were growing up, it was skateboarding.
Gatlin
Skateboarding was probably definitely more popular.
Sean
Yeah, that was hot because we had,
Gatlin
like, the wheelies, like, on the Skecher shoes. Yeah, those were big.
Sean
I had detects.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
But now kids don't even go outside.
Gatlin
No.
Sean
They're not even biking. They're not scootering.
Gatlin
No.
Sean
Skateboarding. They're just inside scrolling on their phone, watching you guys.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah. I guess that's the catch of it. All right.
Sean
Times have changed.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
Is your audience pretty young? Like, do you know the age demo?
Gatlin
We have a pretty wide range between the both of us. Like, mine's probably 18 to 35, like, younger. But then hers is so interesting via the different platforms. But she's very. Hits a very hard from 35 to 65 women.
Sean
That makes sense.
Gatlin
But, like, her demo is, like. It's intriguing. She's 52. 48 split, though. Really? Yeah.
Sean
Like, a lot of guys.
Gatlin
A lot of guys will watch her. Whoa.
Sean
So guys like what you're doing?
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
Nice.
Gatlin
Yeah. And so we have, like. It's really interesting. Like, we. We tap into a pretty broad audience. Even though, like, she's in a lot of my stuff, I'm in a lot of hers. It. It's funny. People understand. They're different, too. So I don't know. It's fun. We've been. We've done a lot of stuff over the years with youth organizations and all that stuff, but, yeah, it's. It's fun. Because it makes you like. Well, we're not just like niche down too hard to farming. Right, right. That was always my goal. It was like, I don't want to just be like, done this my whole life, been in it. Like, I went out to Hollywood to act and all that stuff. Like, how can we do stuff and make it hit a wide range of people? So I think we've somewhat figured that out a little bit to hit a broader audience.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, right. For sure. Because it's. People don't realize. A lot of people don't realize farming, how farming is.
Gatlin
Yeah, Farming.
Granny (Ms. K)
Ranching.
Sean
Farming's a tough lifestyle, right?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yes, very tough.
Sean
Especially these days.
Granny (Ms. K)
I got married at 17, and I had no idea what farming was. No. And I married a farmer.
Sean
Wow.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. That was a shock.
Sean
He didn't tell you.
Gatlin
It was.
Sean
It was difficult.
Gatlin
That wasn't a pitch.
Granny (Ms. K)
No. He didn't tell me how hard it was. No. At all.
Sean
Well, back then, I feel like you can make a living off it easier, if that makes sense. You know, now it's competitive with the grocery stores and.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah. From that.
Sean
It's the market selling the vegetables and fruit.
Granny (Ms. K)
But it was still tough. I had to work.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
And he had to work, you know, at jobs to make so you could farm. I mean, you know, so it was. It was still tough being back then. And it was, you know, a lot of work. And we had two sons, but they helped us. And so. But yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
My father grew up on a farm and he. Man, he used to say the crazy stories, dude. Like, it was tough. He was 6 foot 5, 130 pounds.
Gatlin
Oh, wow.
Sean
Yeah. Really underfed working all day on the farm. It was tough.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, definitely. Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah. Even dad and Chris, I mean, they were fit guys, but they were also not. They were kind of like scrawny too, at one point, and they got. They got bigger. She also raised two bull riders at the same time, too. So.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, they were riding bulls for long.
Sean
I went to the NFR last year.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
When they're in high. They was in high school and.
Sean
Yeah. I have a newfound respect for bull riders after seeing it with my own eyes.
Gatlin
Those guys, they don't talk to having some way. Those like.
Sean
Those guys, bro, they're on there for three seconds.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
Like, it's insane.
Gatlin
You can't even get on. I wouldn't get. You can't get me on that.
Sean
I don't think I'd be able to last a second.
Gatlin
No, no. I mean, they have to be on there for eight seconds. Yeah.
Sean
Which is crazy. I think only a couple did it when I. When I saw it.
Gatlin
Yeah. Yeah. And it's all about the draw too. Like, what bull do you get is. It's an interesting sport that way. But yeah, just the. I don't know. Overcome that. I don't know how that. They just act on knowledge a lot. Like. Yeah, we wrote bulls. Like they don't fit. You know, it's just second nature.
Sean
Did you have bulls on the ranch or you went somewhere else to do it?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, they had a. They had it or they built it?
Gatlin
They built their own arena.
Sean
Oh yeah.
Gatlin
And shoots and like it looked like a mini little. They built it when they were 17. This is like different, right? Like kids today building.
Sean
No shot.
Granny (Ms. K)
It's still there.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah. We still use it as like we still.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. We call it the arena.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
That's impressive.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
Back then the guys were different, I think.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Gatlin
Well, they're raised by like that generation too, right?
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
Tough generation.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. I. We was raised in a real small town, you know, everybody knew any. Everybody and we. My. I just stayed home with the boys till they. And I didn't really intend to go to work, but the school called me from the lunchroom and 1 know if I'd come up and help. The lady was sick so I went up there and to help and she never did come back. So I stayed for probably six, seven years there and then we had to move to Thomas. We lost our school. And so I was there till I think altogether it was 12 years. About 12 years.
Sean
Okay.
Granny (Ms. K)
Then I said I had to get a better job because I had two boys in college.
Sean
Yeah. That's expensive.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, yeah. So I went to work.
Gatlin
She just told the origin story of Ms. K though. Yeah, that was. That's the origin story. Oh, really? Yeah, that's.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, that's how I, yeah.
Gatlin
Became Ms.
Granny (Ms. K)
Kid. You know, I was always cooking.
Sean
Wow.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, that's cool.
Sean
So that was your parents you're talking about?
Gatlin
Yeah, it was my dad and his brother. And then they went to school and she became a lunch lady.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
And then. Yeah, and then she did that for 12 plus years.
Sean
Wow.
Gatlin
And then. So what did you said the kids called you? Well, back then kids had. Man, speaking of like generation, like, everyone just referred to you, hey, Ms. K. Ms. K, Ms. Kids. So that was her lunch lady name.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
And yeah, that's what's Roland made. It kind of inspired the whole oh, for launching a snack stick thing. Like, you better tie it back to your story. While you've been doing snacks and I'm
Granny (Ms. K)
not a hoarder, but you'll not believe this. He wanted, of course, when he was going to miss K and we kind of got into that stick meat stuff and he wanted me to get an apron and he had a picture when I was cooking and I had still had the same apron.
Sean
We'll have to throw it up on the video.
Gatlin
Yeah. I'll give it to you. It was it literally the same apron from like 1969.
Sean
Wow. You kept that apron.
Gatlin
A few aprons in my closet and
Sean
then she throw that out quick.
Granny (Ms. K)
I didn't even know I had it. But he said, do you have an apron? I said, yeah, I got some in there to draw and pulled it out and there it was.
Sean
Wow. That is 69. That's what, 50 year old apron.
Gatlin
Yeah. And it's just like it looks like brand new.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, it was very nice.
Gatlin
So she'll wear it in a few videos too when she's doing like homemaker stuff in the house. I love it. Yeah. It's so funny how they all like came to be through that. And it was all like, for two years we've been working on developing and designing a meat stick because we ranch, we sell our own beef. Yeah. And then once we realized, like, hey, we can make a really good tasting ones like chomps, but taste better. We like. And she's a big bid. Like, I want to make a snack for my great grandkids.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. So got 10 great grandkids. Wow.
Gatlin
And yeah, probably more coming.
Sean
So let's go.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah. If my wife lets me.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
How many of the ten are from you?
Gatlin
Yeah, I want to hear about that later. But yeah, so that's what inspired it. And yeah, like you said, by the time this airs like it's probably out because we haven't told anybody. Yeah. We're just teasing it. And yeah, it's going to be 100 grass fed beef sticks. I love that. But like great flavors and to kind of tie back to.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
But made for. Made for kids. Yeah.
Sean
Chomps blew up, man.
Gatlin
They did.
Sean
They came out of nowhere. Now they're everywhere.
Gatlin
It did. And that's like the. We looked at it. We're like, yeah, that's. They did a great job in the marketplace. But like there's not a female brand out there in meat sticks. And it used to be a very macho man, like kind of at the gas station. Grab a meat steak. Like when I was a kid, it was Slim Jim, you know, True. And like we saw and we have a lot of my. My wife buys these for our kids and she's like, oh, my great grandkids make them. Like, why don't we make your own? And you. We've been paid a lot of money. Promote other people's stuff. Just make our own stuff. So kind of what inspired it? But the end of the day, just like, want to make a snack that tastes good and what'd you say?
Granny (Ms. K)
Protein.
Gatlin
Protein for those you love. So it's like versus, like being macho. It's like. So. Yeah, I like it because I eat them all the time. We're driving to the ranch or on trips.
Sean
Yeah. I'd be snacking because I'm busy all the time.
Gatlin
Yeah. It's like you don't have time for eat a steak and would you say you can't eat steaks anym?
Granny (Ms. K)
That's what you gonna say? No. You know, when you get old, you can't do a lot of things.
Sean
I didn't know that happens when you get old. Now I'm bombed. Oh, teeth.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, but so I can eat the meat sticks and get protein, you know? Yeah, well, I got my teeth. You know, you got. I've got false teeth now, so. Yeah, they don't work as good as your original teeth.
Sean
Yeah. So got to give up steak one day. I'm bummed now.
Gatlin
So just enjoy it all now. Yeah.
Sean
Eat some meat sticks.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Or you get old.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
We'll link it in the video. Do you sell them online?
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah. They'll be on by the time this comes out. Everything Ecom to start. We'll roll out retail event. We have a lot of people already wanting to do it, but we just want to ecom at first and then take it from there and see where we go from there. But it's really fun. It's been exciting to build something with her outside of our social stuff, but leverage our social to promote it.
Sean
That's exciting.
Gatlin
We've worked with, we've helped make a lot of brands, a lot of money over the years, and we didn't leverage that very well.
Sean
You don't know your value.
Gatlin
You don't know your value. And we look at her like both of our numbers and all this stuff, and people already want to buy our stakes or our merch and all that. But I'm like, what's something that we could really do good here with and get to the masses better? Like, we only have 350head of our own cattle to sell to people so we can't supply that year round to people, but we can find good source beef and make a good.
Sean
That makes sense. I just had TJ Dillashaw on last week, the UFC fighter, and he has a grass fed jerky company.
Gatlin
Oh, he does? Okay. Yeah. What's the of that?
Sean
I forget the name.
Gatlin
Yeah, but I've seen him.
Sean
Yeah, it was the best jerky I've ever had. I like grass fed, but, yeah, he launched it. He's the face of it. $6 million, first year.
Gatlin
Really?
Sean
He's in sprouts and whole foods.
Gatlin
That's great. Okay. Yeah, that's where I've seen it. His brand, the jerky is interesting. Margins depending on.
Sean
Oh, really?
Gatlin
Yes. That's why we st. We also stayed away from it because. Thin margins, not as good as the meat sticks.
Sean
Yeah, he puts a whole ribeye in one bag of jerky.
Gatlin
Yeah, that's not a very good mar. Yeah.
Sean
Sells it for $42. So.
Gatlin
Yeah, it makes sense then. Yeah.
Sean
Depends what you get it for, I guess.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what we. We learned a lot about business through the year. I didn't know what margins are gonna act. I was like, I just want to be in a movie.
Sean
Yeah, you guys are just.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah. They didn't teach me about that on the ranch. They just said, hey, go out and work.
Sean
When you left the ranch for la, what was that like? Was that a tough conversation for y'? All?
Gatlin
What did you think?
Granny (Ms. K)
Just he wanted to go. So.
Gatlin
Yeah, I like, probably against what most people think traditionally of ranchers. That mindset, like her, my dad, everybody's like, go try it. Yeah. What's the worst thing you have to. You don't succeed. So. And then I went to visit. And when I went to visit out there, ironically, I met. I met a girl who turned in and being my wife now. Yeah, it was just like a fate thing. We both choose. My last year of college, her last year college. She was in school in New York.
Sean
So everything happens for a reason.
Gatlin
Yeah. And so I got, like, who I believe, like, my. My whole journey is meant to go out there for a reason. And that's. I'd say I always laugh now. It's like I thought I had to leave home to do what I wanted to do, but I had to leave to learn I could do exactly where I'm from. So that's kind of the full circle thing for me. I always get goosebumps, even. I'll say that because it's the truth of, like, sometimes it's right in front and you don't even realize it. So. And that's been the fun part. Like, I grew up her my whole life. Didn't ever think I would turn her into like. Like I just an influencer. Yeah. You know, like. Yeah, somebody. But I didn't. You did that. But it's like I just saw. I guess I was casting directing. Like, I saw a talented person there and she fits the part to a
Granny (Ms. K)
T. When he first started, he would come in and he said, now say this and I'm going. You need to. You know, people have a board up here.
Gatlin
Script.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, script.
Sean
Oh, yeah. Teleprompter.
Granny (Ms. K)
No, he never did do a script or a teleprompter or nothing. He just makes me say it.
Sean
Yeah. That's why it does. Well, man, I'm telling you, you could tell when people are like. When people are just reading off the screw.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, yeah.
Gatlin
Very improv. We've learned that through our. Like, we can. Like, we prep. But it's like.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, he'll tell me what to say, but sometimes. But sometimes he don't not tell him.
Gatlin
She riffs.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. I say the words I want to say.
Gatlin
Yeah, but. But the. The full circle, like going out there was interesting because I didn't know to expect. Grew up in a town of 1200 people on a ranch that nearest neighbors a mile away. So that was like culture shock. But it's. Again, we were talking before we even got on is like, it allows you to have better perspective and be able to relate to people better. 100 come to Vegas and not feel like I'm like, you know, overwhelmed. Yeah. And she's a trooper. She goes on trips outside of all this stuff for years. Has been doing it. Like you've seen. You've been all over the world now. Well, not well, America and Canada.
Granny (Ms. K)
Go overseas. But yes, I love to travel.
Gatlin
Yeah. So I've got a little bit, I think that bug from her like wanting to see more. And now we get to do it a lot together.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
It's fun. But it's. It's. It was a culture shock and there's nothing. But at the time I got a great support system. So, like, I got. It wasn't nothing I could manage. But then 2020 happens and you have to start pivoting and.
Sean
Yep.
Gatlin
And that's where like all this.
Granny (Ms. K)
But the most impressive thing was. Or surprising. Maybe I better say that word is his wife came back to Oklahoma with him.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
I gotta hear how you pulled that off. From LA to Oklahoma.
Granny (Ms. K)
I don't know either, because she must
Sean
have really loved you.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
It's a show. Anytime I ever say, like, you and you think I don't love, like. No, you're right. Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
And we love her too, so.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. But you know, her folks, her family was in California and everything, and she moved back for him.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
Well done.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, that's great.
Gatlin
Like, at the time she was working at Warner Brothers on the Fine. Like, she worked in licensing and all that. So they went full remote. So I was back and forth a lot once this took off. And then like, we can. You can work remote and live in Oklahoma. So that kind of opened the door to be able to do that too. Again. Timing, just timing kept lining up. So. So that's what I was doing every two weeks. I was flying from LA, Oklahoma, LA, Oklahoma for a whole year.
Sean
It's a long flight.
Gatlin
But like, this social media stuff took off and it's like, why would you not. Yeah, like, that was my opportunity. I saw. I was like, oh, yeah. I got close on a lot of things. Auditioning and close producers. But I never get landed in the joke. Like, my managers be like, they say you don't have enough social media presence.
Sean
Oh, that's what they want now.
Gatlin
Yeah. But I had a thousand followers. I'm from a town of a thousand people. I didn't know social media was leveraged for marketing and all that.
Sean
That's what gives you the. The role. Now if you're the same skill level in acting, but you have more followers
Gatlin
built in marketing, from a business standpoint, I totally get it. But at the time, like, what is like, I was better than that, but it doesn't matter, you know? Yeah, that's been even.
Sean
I've been offered roles and I've never acted before. Yeah. Just because I have followers, someone offered me the lead role in a movie.
Gatlin
No way.
Sean
Yeah. I was like, bro, he sent me the script and I'm like, there's no way, dude. 60 page script. It was like me and Alec Baldwin and someone else. Yeah. And it was some Christian movie. A Christian basketball movie.
Gatlin
Gotcha.
Sean
Yeah. So it was like overwhelming. I didn't take it.
Gatlin
Yeah. It was a little hoop background, though. You can.
Sean
Yeah, I can hoop a little bit.
Gatlin
So you got the build for it.
Sean
That's what piqued my interest in it. But then when I started reading it, I'm like, there's no way. Yeah, dude, acting's hard.
Gatlin
It is. And then that's what you say. Like, the social stuff came and now this is like A full time act. And we can act whenever we want. All this stuff, I get tossed opportunities. And it's like, it's like that you're like, oh, I mean, I would have killed for this five years ago. Yeah, years ago. Now it's like, no, yeah. Not worth my time, money and I don't have creative control.
Sean
You could get more views doing a
Gatlin
video with her after this video, you know, so it's like, why then it's all changed right though? Everything's changed.
Sean
So the power's changed.
Gatlin
Yeah. And when you realize that, it really shifts your.
Sean
Yeah, it's changing even now. Like followers are becoming more irrelevant right now.
Gatlin
It's all about like engagement.
Sean
Engagement. Yeah.
Gatlin
Like she gets 100 last month you got. Last two months come like it was 150 million. 150 million this month. 100 million.
Sean
Wow.
Gatlin
But it's like, like that's way more than. I think she has 5 million followers cumulatively, it's like that's way more beyond than like the following 100.
Sean
Yeah. Most of my views come from non followers too.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
So it's like I think 80.
Gatlin
That's more valuable than following. But yeah, commend you and all the.
Sean
Yeah, you too though.
Gatlin
Followers like YouTube, man, he's top five Spotify podcasts in the world. Yeah.
Sean
We just had number four yesterday. Yeah. Past Tucker Carlson. That guy's legendary.
Gatlin
Yeah. A legend. Would you ever think you'd be like where you're. When you started this? Like that would be.
Sean
I'm always like kind of delusionally optimistic. I think you have to be in business but like, logically it makes no sense when you're just starting out to say, yo, I'm going to be top five.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
So you kind of have to like believe in yourself.
Gatlin
Yeah. That's what I say. You believe in something, you don't know what it is. Yeah. You just know there's a belief there. Like we. We got invited to. I think by this point we're going to be at and it's just for AG policy stuff, but we're going to a White House event.
Sean
Wow, that's crazy.
Gatlin
But like really, I'm like, did you think when we started like we get invited to the White House and she's like, never thought of. Never know. Would you say like, I still don't know if like this is makes sense? Yeah.
Sean
That's nuts.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, that is.
Sean
Wow. Congrats on that. So you're gonna meet the president.
Gatlin
You know, it's like, you know, it is with anything within government. Yeah.
Sean
Secretive.
Gatlin
Yeah. Yeah. But at the end of the day it's just like I've also too we always we don't care but we just like I try never to get too involved with all the government stuff but it's USDA related which very involved with our beef sticks or our our our way of life. So trying to be you know work with them and how to get. They're launching a product of the USA label.
Sean
Oh they are.
Gatlin
So we're all good. Yeah. It's great for us. So they they wanted to work with us. Taylor Sheridan's involved like we're all to promote that ranchers can now say like hey this is a product of the usa. Unlike the big guys who can't say that.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
Because they're sourcing their beef from other
Sean
Mexico and Venezuela, China. Right.
Gatlin
Australia like it comes from all over places they don't have the regulation we have we literally America has the cleanest, best protein. When it comes to people will argue and say no like the grain finish all that. No. When you do the true testing and with our medicine practices and everything we have the cleanest, safest beef and protein in the world.
Sean
Yeah. We're known for steak here.
Gatlin
Yeah. It's like so what do we where they always try to say oh but the Europeans it's like yeah they got some things right but some of this
Sean
stuff I've heard Australia and Japan I think have decent There was Wagyu.
Gatlin
Yeah. But if you're going to Wagyu just get it straight from Japan. Don't even try this American stuff.
Sean
It's not good.
Gatlin
It's crossbred.
Sean
Oh wow.
Gatlin
So it's not. It's not like true.
Sean
That's a bummer.
Gatlin
Yeah but. But you're still paying for it at the restaurant. Yeah. You're still paying 85 Wagyu sounds really nice, right? Yeah. A five ain't that good. Yeah.
Sean
If they don't have the certificate it's bogus.
Gatlin
Right. Yeah. Still it's a grass fed.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
Not all that's 100% you guys both
Sean
sold on the grass fed.
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh yeah.
Gatlin
You prefer that we both most 90% of our cattle's lives grass fed and then we finish out their own crops.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Because we just like extra marbleization. But yeah. I mean there's a lot of research to either or and it's a lot of it's been if you look at the research like who funded that research. If you really understand the grass fed soup cattle back in the day were the Hardest thing to sell is it was the cheapest meat. Now they flipped it where now it's the most.
Sean
Yeah. It's like lobster used to be.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
They used to feed lobster to prisoners.
Gatlin
Yeah. And now it's a desirable thing. Well, that's a very interesting. Weird. Really very weird. So we. We know that from, like, the producer side of it. But our main thing is just we want to inspire people to get in this way of life. But there's a lot of things that kind of. Yeah. Make it not like you said.
Granny (Ms. K)
Right.
Gatlin
It's too hard.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, it's too hard. And. And it's very. I mean, to make a living. It's kind of hard.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah. Margin. Talking about margins.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
Ranching. Because it costs to operate with all this stuff.
Granny (Ms. K)
Because my two cents. Both of their wives had to work
Gatlin
the hole for insurance.
Granny (Ms. K)
Just time for, you know, just to, you know, you had to have a check coming in because you never knew, you know.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. Because when I first got married and my husband, we raised some wheat back then, and I didn't realize I didn't like to be. Get the wheat coming in and going to the elevator, because then you were in the field all summer in the tractor. Yeah. And. But then I realized that the only money is coming in is when you get that wheat crop.
Sean
That makes sense. You got to rely on that crop to produce, and then sometimes you have a bad crop.
Granny (Ms. K)
Right, exactly.
Gatlin
Droughts. It's so, you know, there's so much nuance to it. And that's what a lot of people, I don't think, understand about farming, ranching, any of it. There's, like, so many variables. Right.
Sean
It's not predictable.
Gatlin
Right. Yeah.
Sean
You could get in pest control or, like, pests coming in once you ruin it.
Gatlin
Yeah. And that's why, like, the USDA offers insurance to farmers. And that's like an actual governmental program, which I'm never big on, like, that. That when they especially comes to your food. Yeah. When I have too much government involvement. But they're. They have like, premium crop policies for insurance for. For those types of things.
Sean
That makes sense.
Gatlin
But if you do have a bad year, you lose. They're there to at least help you out. And that's funded by the American dollar to, like, help, because that's part of our food source. So, like, some of that makes sense. It just. You get into really touchy stuff for people. Yeah. And then like, the mindset of, like, but we can make our commodities and. Or make our subsidies off the stuff and Some of the people have taken advantage of that. Yeah. So we. We do like to touch on very tough subjects, but at the same time, we always go like tongue in cheek with it and never. Because.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
You know, if you'll always piss someone off. Yeah. And we always have people trying to like, dox us. Like, your family's taking cumulatively $2 million of government subsidies. I'm like, yeah, I'm 40 years of farming, like, break that down, you know, 40k a year. Yeah.
Sean
That's nothing.
Gatlin
Nothing. When it comes. You know how much a tractor costs?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, just.
Sean
I actually don't. I'm curious.
Gatlin
Oh, it's the average tractor in the u. S. Like, from full size to bit, like.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yep.
Gatlin
It's like a quarter million dollars.
Sean
What?
Gatlin
Yes.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
For a farm truck.
Gatlin
The combine is over almost a million, like $700,000 now. For a brand new combine that's cuts the wheat.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
God is crazy.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yes.
Gatlin
So you want to talk about, like.
Granny (Ms. K)
See, that's quiet.
Gatlin
But they're so hard. That's where like the issue with John, like, all those people, big corporations, it's like they got all this tech in there. We can't even operate our own equipment. So you get touchy subjects and stuff. But at the same time, like, they're. They know that we're the only people buying it from them, so they're not trying to do things they want. They. They do do things to try to help us too. So. Yeah, but it's a very. It's corporate America. It's capitalism.
Sean
Big players in the space.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
And they're buying up guys like you.
Gatlin
Right.
Sean
They're buying up farms.
Gatlin
A lot of those corporate farming entities in like the Midwest, the south, it's more of like rent. They're buying up the herd right now. The packers and all them are buying up the herds. Like, right now, beef prices are all time high. Like, we're making higher margins than we ever have on cattle. But they're wanting to. Like, we're. If we don't sell now, like you. It. It's a hot market. Why would you not selling it? But then you're not gonna have anything to raise. And so there's a big worry that the supply chain the next 18, 24 months is that people think beef's expensive now.
Sean
It's gonna get worse.
Gatlin
It's gonna get worse.
Sean
Oh, God.
Gatlin
And so that's why we need more herd, like people, some independent ranchers trying to grow their herds versus selling out. But right now it's a great time to Sell.
Sean
Yeah, I bought a cow last year.
Gatlin
Oh, really?
Sean
Yeah. You bought a half. Half a cow?
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
No, not like a live.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sean
I do want to have cows one day though. But yeah, I bought half a cow, saved a ton of money.
Gatlin
Oh, yeah.
Sean
Put it in the freezer. Yeah, it was great.
Gatlin
Enough space.
Sean
Yeah. I literally bought a freezer just for that. Nice. A separate freezer.
Gatlin
Did you get it like locally or did you get it.
Sean
Yeah, from a guy in Cali. Cali's got some cattle farms, so I
Gatlin
have some buddies out there, like Perennial Pastures.
Sean
I think that's the one. I bought it. Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah. Kevin Munro. Yeah, that's a good job.
Sean
He's came on the show.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah, he. He there. We've tried just. I love trying other people's beef too. Yeah. For grass fed, it's pretty good.
Sean
And I think that's the move, though.
Granny (Ms. K)
I was just telling Gatlin earlier, I
Sean
said
Granny (Ms. K)
after I got married, my husband was. Had calves and things and we always butchered our own meat. And I said, I do not remember ever buying beef or any meat from local stores or grocery stores. I do not remember. I do not remember ever.
Sean
That's actually crazy.
Gatlin
Well, my life growing up, our freezer always had stake in it. And so I didn't know. I'd go like, then I'd go to a friend's house. Like, nobody had beef on their stuff. I'm like, why don't people have. And I moved to California. Nobody has beef in their freezers. And like, what? They're like, we go to the butcher. I'm like, oh, well, we are like, we. We have done it. So it's kind of. That's like a culture thing, not realizing. But. Yeah, like that generation too. They eat, you grow it, you fed it, you get it homesteaded style.
Granny (Ms. K)
And my. I had two. We had two sons. And after my husband passed away, well, my oldest son was already into farming. He and ranching, I mean. And my. His dad joined us then and took over.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
And. But then I have. Now I have four grandkids. He's one of them. And I have one that's a veterinarian. So he helps us out.
Gatlin
He's our. He's our in house vet. Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
And then I have another one that he was a oilfield oil field worker. Yeah. Worked and. But he has come back now and joined us because he said his dad's getting old, so he's.
Sean
Yeah. Spend time with him.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah. He works the day off, learn the
Granny (Ms. K)
business, you know, and Everything.
Gatlin
Because you're not in every day. You don't. You gotta. Like, there's some stuff, like, we still talk, like, do you know why we do this? All right. No, we have no idea. Like, they just. Our dads would be like, it's this time of year.
Granny (Ms. K)
They've got to do stuff. No. So, yeah, so he. That was good. And then I have a granddaughter that's in Wisconsin, and she helps us with customer service.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
Family business.
Gatlin
Yes. My sister's a doctor, but it's on her spare time. Yeah. It's like, she does the customer service stuff.
Granny (Ms. K)
Right.
Gatlin
So, like, it's.
Sean
That's great, though. Three generations of family business working right now.
Gatlin
And it's a. I'm fifth generation. Oh, you're fine. Our kids are sixth generation. Whoa.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
So. So your parents did this and your. Your grandparents. Your.
Gatlin
My husband's dad and his grandpa.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Pierre Didier. Homesteaded 1902. On the location, we film all of our content.
Granny (Ms. K)
Wow. Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Homesteaded that.
Sean
So it was built in 1902.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
Impressive.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. I was not fond about moving to the farm, but I finally moved there, and I've been there 50 years, and I Not going nowhere.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yet.
Sean
We'll see if that changes.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
When the beef sticks, take off.
Gatlin
Yeah. I might be joining her out there. As I'm getting older, I'm like, you know what, girl? I think you got it.
Sean
That's how I feel. I'm, like, starting to not like cities as much, and I want to get, like, some land, you know?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. It's.
Gatlin
It's.
Granny (Ms. K)
It's amazing. You know, it's.
Sean
As I get older, I just.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
One more quiet.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. No traffic, nothing. Yeah. Just naturally. I live on a dirt road.
Sean
Oh, yeah?
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. Don't even have a paved road.
Sean
Wow.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
No one can bother you, though.
Gatlin
She's like, you want to talk about people? I think match. Like, country. Like, she is straight country. Like, still. You still. Even though she has a dryer and washer, still hangs her clothes on the clothesline, still hand washes all her dishes, even though she has a dishwasher. Like, wow. She's just like. It's so funny. She is still like that. Because she lives it every day, though, too, for me. I come in and out of it. I live, like. I live out in the, like, outskirts of Oklahoma City. I drive to the ranch. Yeah. Cali girl cannot move straight to the ranch or I wouldn't be married. That's why I told me I wouldn't be married still if I'd have done that to her, but. But, like, she's in it every day and that. It's like she is the embodiment of, like, rural American lady who's just like,
Granny (Ms. K)
I see a mow all my yard.
Sean
Wow, that's a lot of mowing.
Granny (Ms. K)
It is a lot. When you're, you know, probably. What. How many acre do you.
Gatlin
What you're. Oh, what, you're mowing. Oh, you're mowing.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
You're mowing over an acre.
Granny (Ms. K)
I know. It's a lot of mowing. Yeah.
Gatlin
So she's got. She got those industrial. Like. Yeah.
Sean
That you sit in.
Gatlin
You see on the golf course.
Sean
I used to have the push one as a kid.
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh, yeah, we did. For sure.
Sean
I used to hate doing that.
Gatlin
Oh, it's brutal.
Granny (Ms. K)
I had a tractor mower for a long time.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
And I got it out one day, and I'm going, oh, my gosh. How did I ever do this?
Sean
She's living off the lay. The land. That's beautiful, though. That's how. That's how it used to be, man.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
You know, no grocery stores, you said either. You never went to the grocery store.
Gatlin
Barely, you said. Right. Like, you just for, like, little things, Essentials.
Sean
Yeah. I go, like, twice a week.
Gatlin
Yeah. You have to, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're so disconnected from our food. That's the big issue.
Sean
Well, I try to order direct when I can, so I'll order from Amish people. I'll order from, like, a rancher.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
When I can.
Gatlin
Yeah. Yeah. Thank you for supporting range for sure. Because that's the only way to, like, really try to incentivize people to do it. But, like, we've learned even doing it, it's like, it doesn't really increase the margins because we're. Now we're taking on the processing costs, which the only reason those costs are expensive because of regulation. So you get into that world and you figure it out. So, like, really, you're not. Like, we're doing more work to make the same amount of money as if we would just sell the market. But at least, like, you have the connection with your customer and who's buying it from you.
Sean
I mean, that's why I go to farmers markets, too.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
Because I'd rather pay a little more, but get quality product, you know, it's.
Gatlin
It's the only way to do it, really. If you want good quality.
Sean
Yeah. No pesticides and all that.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Who are you whipping out there? You. Oh, you want to show them the bag.
Sean
Oh, let's see it. What's in the back?
Gatlin
What's in there?
Granny (Ms. K)
Ready? Do you need to do it right?
Gatlin
Give it to them.
Granny (Ms. K)
Okay. I'm.
Sean
Oh, are these sticks?
Gatlin
So these are our Didier ranch bags. Like, we send our steaks inside these.
Sean
Okay. It's like a cooler.
Gatlin
A little cooler bag. But she brought you some gifts. Tell them what you brought them, granny.
Granny (Ms. K)
Okay, well, this is.
Sean
Oh, I love this.
Gatlin
I guess your shirt size based off your height.
Sean
Yeah, I'm a large. Is this large?
Gatlin
Oh, no, it's big. I can get you different. We'll swap out. Oh, yeah. I didn't know how big you were. It's hard to gauge.
Sean
I'm pretty skinny.
Gatlin
Yeah, but I didn't know if you like it.
Sean
Baggy is fine, but the.
Gatlin
We'll get you. We'll get you an xl.
Granny (Ms. K)
This is my shirt.
Gatlin
Yeah, you're wearing that.
Sean
I. I told her I love your shirt as soon as I saw her. Makes sense. Common again, guys.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, I think he's skinny. You're gonna have to get.
Gatlin
Yeah, I didn't realize how skinny he was. I thought he had like a left tackle body.
Sean
You know, I'm like 195.
Gatlin
Okay. All right, we'll get you.
Granny (Ms. K)
You're so tall.
Sean
I was a distance runner in high school.
Granny (Ms. K)
And this is.
Gatlin
Those are. These are unpackaged sample. Like, these are just samples. They're not actually.
Granny (Ms. K)
Okay.
Sean
You're the first flavored or no.
Gatlin
Yeah. So the only difference is one's the original classic recipe and one has cheddar in it. Oh, cheddar.
Sean
Which one is better?
Gatlin
You can see on that.
Sean
I think this one does, right? Yellow up there.
Gatlin
Yep, that's personally my favorite. And then we're rolling out more flavors as we go, but. Oh, yeah, those are tear. Like you have to tear it. But we're like, let's bring Sean. So you're the first person gets a dry live testing 100 grass fed on the first one. Yeah, yeah. Holy crap. And that's our. That's a homemade.
Sean
Working on this for two years.
Gatlin
Yeah, we've had like friends and family and kids and all that, but you're the first person that public.
Sean
Okay. This is better than Chomps.
Gatlin
That was the whole goal.
Sean
Yeah, this is. This tastes better than chomps. I've tried almost every Chomps flavor.
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh, good.
Sean
Way better than Slim Jim.
Granny (Ms. K)
Good.
Gatlin
And then only. The only difference is are on these samples, they overcooked them. It won't be as veiny outside. It's gonna Be smell.
Sean
This is great, dude. 12 grams of protein.
Gatlin
Yeah, 12 grams of protein. Wow. The only, the big difference with her is like we've noticed the moms like kids love sweetness. Like and you have to dial back the saltiness of sticks. So we like looked up, did a lot of research. Low glycemic index coconut sugar. So we're the only stick in the that in the marketplace that utilizes coconut sugar as a sweetener.
Sean
I'm all about the gi.
Gatlin
So that's. That was like our big pivot besides grass fed and ingredients.
Sean
So I try to eat low gi because I used to have acne and I would break out.
Gatlin
Yeah huge thing. I I have a lot of gut health issue stuff and she does too. So we've like learned like try to. It's not going to be the cleanest stick in the world. Like we're not going to be a primitive like lineage provisions like you know, Paul Saladino straight guys.
Sean
One ingredient.
Gatlin
Yeah. Yeah. So I think like local liver in there. Like I don't do it.
Sean
I tried a one ingredient bison thing. I think it's out there. But it makes your breath smell and
Gatlin
yeah just if you're gonna do it, at least make it taste good. Because if you can have a great product but if it don't taste good, no one's gonna want to really eat it. So that was like the whole play play on it. And this gives us room to have fun with flavors down the road. Like we've got some like cinnamon apple recipe to make Granny's kind of apple pie meat stick.
Sean
I got to hear her best recipes. Her best meal she made for you growing up.
Gatlin
Oh, grandma, you want to tell them you do have a couple. You have a couple of good things. This lady was a lunch lady and she's one of the worst grandma cooks of all time. She can't cook, but she has a few like her go to's and it's hard to beat her go to.
Granny (Ms. K)
But I got to tell this story first. But the only thing he was so me and him had the biggest fights when we were he was growing up. He wanted tea but he would put a half a cup of sugar in there and I would tell him no sugar. He could not that cancels out the
Sean
health benefits of a piece of.
Granny (Ms. K)
He couldn't have help it couldn't have sugar. So that was our biggest fight. But he'd always tell me, well my other grandma lets me have.
Gatlin
I tried to play that card.
Granny (Ms. K)
Tried to get me oh no. That was.
Gatlin
But your deviled Eggs are all time. You have to see good deviled eggs. And then at the holidays, everybody in the family will literally fight for she makes the best noodles. So like in Oklahoma, instead of doing brown gravy with your mashed potatoes, people make it's gravy noodles and her noodles.
Sean
Gravy noodles.
Gatlin
Yeah. Is it egg noodles you're using in there?
Sean
Yeah, that sounds good.
Granny (Ms. K)
Made them homemade, you know, and.
Sean
Oh, you made the noodle too?
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh, yeah.
Gatlin
Wow. Yeah. So is it. What broth are you using in that?
Granny (Ms. K)
Chicken.
Gatlin
Chicken broth. But it's like all scratch people have. I've seen family members start fighting over her.
Sean
I mean. Yeah, that sounds amazing. If you got a cold and you eat some of that.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
And then they'd want me to give them some and. But, but who did most of the
Sean
cooking then if it wasn't you at home?
Gatlin
Yeah, well, you grandpa did a lot of like, frying the meat and like eggs and stuff like that. Like, he taught me how to fry my own eggs. Oh, yeah. And. And he would cook the burger, grill, all that stuff. But like, even during the harvest time, like. So when I was a kid, when I stayed back with her, she would whip up some pretty mean burgers. Oh, you deliver them. You wrap them in tinfoil, take them out to the. Out to the field to the farmers and deliver it to them. And I remember like she had melt that cheese perfect pickles and mustard. And I'm like, people like Five Guys burger. I'm like, granny was making five Guys before it was popular and it was way better. Yeah. So like, I like my memories. Like she did is. She did do some good grandma cooking. But I'd always say that's kind of the irony. You're a lunch lady. You. You've tried to cook your whole life, but she'll. You'll burn things so quickly and. Yeah, yeah.
Sean
Five Guys don't hit the same, by the way.
Gatlin
No.
Sean
I used to love five guys, but they don't hit the same anymore.
Gatlin
I don't know what happened.
Sean
I don't know.
Gatlin
It's. It's a burger chain.
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh, yeah.
Gatlin
Oh, yeah.
Sean
She probably doesn't even eat a restaurant.
Gatlin
You've seen it though. You've seen that one? Well, I've seen the checkered board.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, I remember that now.
Gatlin
But yeah. You know though, Brahms is where we go in Oklahoma. Yes.
Sean
I haven't heard of that. Is that a fast food burger?
Gatlin
Local grocer, ice cream slash fast food restaurant Brahms.
Granny (Ms. K)
And it's just strictly Oklahoma.
Gatlin
Some in like north Texas didn't area and some in leak into Kansas. But mainly they only can go in a 500 mile radius of their.
Granny (Ms. K)
Okay, so is it Mark McDonald's only Oklahoma too?
Gatlin
No, no, no.
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh McDonald's everywhere.
Sean
All over the world.
Gatlin
Maybe since you when it started. I'm just kidding. Sonic. Sonic started near us. That's where Sonic.
Sean
I used to like Sonic. I don't really like Sonic.
Gatlin
Yeah, it's all gone a little.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
So if I'm going to Oklahoma because I've never been. What. What's fun out there to do other than the ranch?
Gatlin
Okay, so I'm better at this than you probably because I have friends who come in all the time. Okay, so what is there fun to do? You have to come in during football season, go to either like an OU football game, college football experience or go to osu. Other fun things to do depends on the season. But mainly like in the summertime you come out fish. A lot of people hunt like a lot of big time people come and hunt near us.
Sean
Really.
Gatlin
There's a lot of hunting lodges and stuff. But I. We could hunt on our back door. Deer and. Yeah, deer, all that stuff. But fishing, noodling with your hands. I have noodling. Yeah, yeah. Going to the river.
Sean
What's noodling?
Gatlin
Tell them grandma. Tell them what it is.
Sean
We're talking like the pool noodle or.
Gatlin
Okay, so catfish that we go on bottom feeders you get, they get. Dig holes in the, in the. Whether it's the river or the ponds or the lakes, they give them like these little, little, little cave things. So you got to go in there and put in and get your hands and pull them out and you gotta use your thumbs lock and pull them out by their gills.
Sean
That's sketchy. What. You don't know what's in there though,
Gatlin
you know, and so you can pull snakes, you can pull whatever. So that's why I don't noodle because when I was. I went with my cousins one time I went in there, I pulled out a snapping turtle.
Sean
Oh my God.
Gatlin
And those things you could have lost a finger. Yeah. And there's people who are missing fingers that noodle all the time. Geez, I gotta. We have a good friend, Hannah Barron. She's famous from Alabama. She's Alabama like Hannah or something on Social. She's famous. Good looking little girl who pulls just big old cat flatheads out of the. Out of the lakes and ponds there in Alabama. So noodling. But she's got the scars up and down her arm. I'm like, no, no.
Granny (Ms. K)
We got my grandson, he's got a fishing. He has a fishing thing that he takes people on fishing.
Sean
Oh yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
And everything.
Sean
Yeah. Not in Jersey. Blue fishing.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. And he will show us. And man, they've caught all these fish. So you know, something else to make a extra.
Gatlin
Yeah, yeah. That's farming. That's Oklahoma. In a nutshell though.
Sean
I'm too impatient for fishing.
Gatlin
Yeah. I can.
Sean
I get so bored because I have adhd. So. Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Fly fishing would be better for you because you have to be casting all. I would like the ocean because I heard it's, you know, deep sea fishing.
Sean
Yeah, yeah, I've done deep sea. I sucked.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
I didn't catch anything.
Gatlin
I don't like going that far out. I'm boats and me like that.
Sean
You don't like boats?
Gatlin
I can do john bow in the pond, but yeah, not the big.
Sean
If you could see land, it's comforting because you could swim if something happens.
Gatlin
But yeah, I'm a land. I'm. We're land people for sure. Right. What. What I'd say though, that'd be. Other than you, what do you do? I guess music is fun in Oklahoma. We have a lot of good news. Country musicians.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, that's my favorite country music. Yeah. Yeah. I. We have a bandit place ever each two times a month. And I always try to be there,
Gatlin
but not the bar or the club. It's like a little spot around.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
They've seen the blue hairs. The old blue hairs go out and that's the old. That's the old way of saying gray hair.
Sean
Oh, I didn't know that.
Gatlin
Yeah. Back in the day because we started putting blue hairs in our video for like. Got it For a certain type of people, vegans.
Granny (Ms. K)
Just a group of old people that like to be like to like country music. Old country music.
Sean
So that's you.
Gatlin
I love that.
Sean
I. I don't like old people going to senior homes.
Gatlin
No.
Sean
Dwindling away, dude. It's sad to see.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. That is so sad.
Gatlin
Depressing.
Granny (Ms. K)
But yeah.
Gatlin
The. I'd say the biggest fun thing people have when they come to Oklahoma. It's like you're in the middle of nowhere so you can kind of do whatever. So like a lot of my friends just like to shoot guns because they can't just go do that anywhere.
Sean
Right. Right.
Gatlin
So we'll just get the ski shoot out and throw up clays shoot shotgun. It's like little stuff like that kind of. Yeah. It's laid back Chill. If you. And especially if people like to partake, you can have a few drinks and that one's really going to bother you. But like that it's nothing crazy. And so I get. It's. My wife always says it's just a slower pace. I feel that she grew up la, New York stuff and she's like the. For like raising a family especially and all that. But like the pace of life is way different than probably what you'll get at most other places.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
So I think that is ultimately what makes. If you are going to say anything special or like what's. What's appealing. Maybe because there's not so much simplicity in the rest of the world. You can kind of find it because there's really nothing else to do besides you have to do that.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. But nowadays we have a casino practically on. In every town.
Sean
Oh, really? It's legal there.
Gatlin
Native American.
Granny (Ms. K)
It is just amazing how many they are. I mean.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
They're printing money with us.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. And it's basically Indian.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
Indian land.
Sean
I've been to one in Florida. Fort Lauderdale. Hard Rock, I think is that one.
Granny (Ms. K)
Hard Rock.
Gatlin
Hard Rock has a lot of those like. Like licensing deal.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
Tribes.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
But. Yeah. Other than that, you know. But I don't do that. But I mean, there's.
Gatlin
We didn't even stay at a hotel, at a casino because grandma doesn't do it.
Sean
Oh, really? You don't like the gambling or.
Granny (Ms. K)
I used to. I used to, but then I got lowered.
Sean
Okay.
Granny (Ms. K)
I don't like.
Sean
They say Vegas was way better back in the day when the mob ran it.
Granny (Ms. K)
I bet it was too.
Gatlin
I've heard. Yeah. The Golden Nugget used to actually, like, be good.
Sean
Yeah. Almost everyone I asked here that question to. That's like older says it was way better when the mob ran it.
Granny (Ms. K)
Huh. I never was.
Sean
Now a bunch of VCs around Vegas, they own all the casinos out here. VCs always mess up everything they touch. Dude. Because it's all about the money.
Gatlin
Yeah. And that's what our whole, like doing this Miss Case thing as we grow like that is. Like, stay away from as much as that stuff we can because you lose the creative control. Yeah. And the quality of the products.
Sean
Like, I'm the same with the pod because I don't want people investing and then controlling who I can have on and.
Gatlin
Yeah. So you're independent with everything.
Sean
Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah. Our guy was like. I think I was literally messaging Sean. I was like. I mean, I should have just talked to Sean, it had been easier. Usually you have to have the buffers in between.
Sean
I do all my own booking things, dude.
Gatlin
Yeah. Well, thank you. That's super good. Yeah, that's nice. Because it's genuine. It's real too. It's not. Yeah, like you said, just some guy scouting to just find people.
Sean
Yeah, absolutely.
Gatlin
She was telling me when you hit her up. What'd you say?
Sean
I said, slid in her dms.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
You run your dms. Was that you?
Gatlin
But she saw it and you said, what'd you say? You told him?
Granny (Ms. K)
Oh, I forgot.
Sean
Now I could probably pull it up.
Gatlin
She's like. She's like this guy just.
Sean
Yeah, that's what I do, though.
Gatlin
Well, she asked me, is this spam?
Sean
I get that a lot, actually.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. Going to say.
Sean
Cuz it does look weird.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
Yeah. You were getting on. I was like, oh, oh, this is funny.
Sean
We'll throw this up on the video.
Gatlin
Okay. Is this how you young kids operate? Yeah, I like it. Straight to the point.
Sean
Yeah, I actually sent that to someone and he was like, are you serious? Like, this is so unprofessional. So I might have to change that message.
Gatlin
Well, I think that's also what makes it real, is like podcast. Like, because like, if, you know it's a bot or AI wrote that, it's going to be like, true. Yeah. You know?
Sean
Yeah.
Granny (Ms. K)
Speaking of that, I'm not very, you know, I'm old and I don't keep up with her, but I was out here one time and this guy, he said, I'll DM you. And I'm going, what?
Sean
That's funny. Direct message.
Granny (Ms. K)
I had no idea what DM meant at that point. Yeah.
Gatlin
So like three years.
Sean
That's how people talk now. It's like, yo, I'll DM you. I don't even want your number. I'll just DM you on Instagram.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, that's what.
Sean
Because you could do everything on IG now. You could call, you could text, you could send disappearing messages. I mean, it's pretty much texting someone at this point.
Gatlin
And it's like a buffer. Right. Of like. And if you get the phone number, it's.
Sean
Yeah, it's a little too invasive.
Gatlin
Little. They're. They're closer to the touch than that. Yeah, we were, we were talking the other day where I was like, who's like, one of the funniest DMs you've had after, like, we were talking about years and who was the one that you said was like the wildest DM you got.
Sean
Oh yeah, you guys have some big celebrities that follow.
Gatlin
She's like, it's since the beginning with her though. Like, even when she like 80,000 follow. Like Snoop Dogg.
Sean
Yes, I saw the bat.
Gatlin
I'm like, how did, what did you do to like get that attention? And yeah, like, that's a whole team. Maybe. But. But you've had some interesting DMS over the years from people.
Sean
Who else has slid in your dms?
Gatlin
Dan. Dan Bazerian did.
Sean
Oh, Dan House.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
He lives out here.
Gatlin
Oh, he does? In Vegas. Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
Sean
What did he want?
Gatlin
It was. What was it? Yeah, he just like messaged to a video, like, like it Granny or something.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah, I was gonna say.
Gatlin
Yeah, but it's like you, it's like you never think like those things, like, right. Like we're in the middle of nowhere. Like. Yeah, it's like.
Sean
No, it's crazy. But like you said, when you're getting 100 million views a month, you don't realize there's some celebrities in the, in that mix watching, you know, like when
Gatlin
we go even like we go to our local Walmart now, like, she can't even, she can't go because. But when you're just living your life, doing your thing, you don't even think about it.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
You know, but.
Granny (Ms. K)
But I love it.
Gatlin
But you're the modern day. We were talking about. You're the modern day version of the old, like TV shows in Hollywood, like you're not used to seeing. Then all of a sudden you see somebody in the. They kind of like, whoa. Even at a hotel. The guy we're like walking by, he's like, do I know you guys? The security guard that had Trump over hotels.
Sean
I get that too. Like, are you the guy from Tick Tock?
Gatlin
Yeah, that's exactly. So are you that granny that just says wild stuff and.
Granny (Ms. K)
But now, see, I love that I'm. When people reckon. I. I went to California one time and I said nobody recognized me. Nobody. Not one person really.
Gatlin
I said, they're too used to seeing celebrities in la.
Sean
Yeah. I feel like they're a little more.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah. In Oklahoma City, we were in the airport and there was a lady from Tennessee that come over and talk to me and she recognized me, but that, that was it. But this guard made me feel good today.
Gatlin
Yeah, the security guard, Trump. Yeah. Yeah, that's great. We were also like, we looked more of our part today. Like we flew. It's like when you do that, like, it's easy. A guy can Go pretty much anywhere. Like if. But if I'm with her, that's.
Sean
Yeah. People are fascinated with the older crowd. I noticed because I've had on character.
Gatlin
Either she's stuck in that.
Sean
Yeah. True. I had on the retirement house people. They get stopped everywhere. This one guy named Vegas Matt, he's like an older guy. Like ambles is. There's a fascination with it.
Gatlin
Yeah. Expect to see 80 year olds. Yeah.
Sean
On the social media. Right.
Gatlin
Yeah, we. We. That took some time learning like tick tock. She figured out. But after then you've been kind of like, yeah, I don't really want to learn these other ones.
Sean
There's a lot of them. Yeah. I just have someone else post for me. To be honest.
Gatlin
That's. You got to do at this point when you have like she does two videos a day.
Sean
Wow. Like. Like that's good.
Gatlin
Scheduling those and getting those out. And yeah, we. Once you start, we like to. I just like going production mode. Like let's make like as many of these with her as you can and run them by her. Get vetoed on of quite a few.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
She turned down a couple.
Gatlin
Yeah. Oh, she turns out for sure.
Sean
Which one were you most upset that she turned on? Which video idea?
Gatlin
The. We had a funny one about Savannah Guthrie and the mom incident thing, so.
Sean
Oh, was that the one you mentioned earlier?
Gatlin
Oh, no, no. This is a different. Like, like, like something about like when they weren't wanting to pay the ransom. I was like, we had like something about her like, if. Man, they must not love their grandma. But she's like, no, we're not doing it. That is off limits. All right.
Sean
Yeah. You got a line.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
She's got to keep me in line with the comedy sometimes.
Granny (Ms. K)
Then he wanted me do one about overweight and I should know.
Sean
We're not shaming people.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Sean
Yeah. That's a sensitive one these days.
Gatlin
But she also, like, you don't mind saying certain things. So I'm like, all right, I'm all
Sean
about honesty, but I don't want it to get offensive. You know what I mean?
Gatlin
That's. That's the balance. Right. And sometimes like you can get wrapped up in the comedy or whatever stuff and be like, oh, yeah, we crossed. Yeah, yeah, like the line line.
Sean
And it's not the intention. But you. You're just moving so fast. You know, you're doing two videos a day and you're not really fully.
Gatlin
And you're like, I grew up watching my sense of humor. My dad had me watching Blazing Saddles
Sean
Family Guy South Park.
Gatlin
And so that's like hard like this generation or these, this, the social media world is not used to like yeah, you can't hit it. It's a lot softer so but it comes better from an 80 year old than it does from a 30 year old white guy. So.
Sean
Well, I would say her generation was even more intense, more honest, you know. And it's gotten softer and softer.
Gatlin
Yeah.
Sean
You know.
Granny (Ms. K)
Yeah.
Gatlin
But there's a comeback. A lot of these young kids, I
Sean
think they'll come back. I think everything ebbs and flows.
Gatlin
Oh yeah. Like when I talk to these young kids now, they the reason they love like her so much. She has a lot of even young people follow her like just that she's blunt, straight to the point. Yeah, they love that we are like kind of not afraid to say what we really want to say. And that's the, that's the fun part. Like okay, so the younger generation likes that and likes us being authentic versus like the corporate safe route which we learned 100. Yeah. We've missed some. We've lost some people over the years.
Sean
Same. It's inevitable. You're always going to piss someone off no matter what. You, you could be Mr. B East. You could be saving people's blindness. And still visitors.
Granny (Ms. K)
We've been going to the FFA convention. Yeah.
Gatlin
Future farmers American heard about one actually
Granny (Ms. K)
and it, it's amazing. You know the kids come up and visit with me and everything. You know and I just love that because of you know they will interact with an 85 year old person. I mean that's amazing that they would want to.
Gatlin
That's when you, that's when you really see like oh like we don't know if you don't go out much but it's like we do a meet and greet thing at these FFA conventions. Yeah. Kids at this convention. Well we meet, we'll meet like 5000 in a two day span and you're like oh man, that's wild. That's nuts. Yeah. So yeah, that's what allows us to kind of put oh that's the actual number on this following and what we're doing. So.
Sean
Yeah. Well that's cool.
Gatlin
She loves that.
Sean
Guys, this was fun. We'll link the, the beef sticks below social media accounts. Anything else you want to close off
Gatlin
with here man, just thank you for having us again. We don't, we don't usually come.
Sean
Yeah, I'm honored.
Gatlin
But once we've had that one like do you think, you know it's this great setup you have here. And again, congratulations on success.
Sean
Thanks, man.
Gatlin
Love seeing people who grind and hustle and. And find the success through it all. So it's cool for us to get to do it. And thank you for letting granny plug Ms. K's.
Granny (Ms. K)
And I love, you know, meeting. I'm like him meeting people and seeing different things. It's. Yeah, very.
Sean
We'll do a part two on the
Gatlin
ranch on the rant. We got to bring him. We got to. We got him work some cattle. We got to get him on the tractor, maybe haul some hay.
Sean
Let's work. Work.
Gatlin
Yeah. You'll go back maybe about 205. 2:15 there. Get you back to. You might be moving out there.
Granny (Ms. K)
Seriously? No.
Sean
All right, guys, take it easy.
Gatlin
Peace.
