He faked his own death… and even he wondered later if he went too far. In this episode, Murr from Impractical Jokers pulls back the curtain on what really happens behind one of the wildest shows on TV. From getting punched in the face, burned by dry ice, and thrown out of a real wedding, to pulling off one of the craziest punishments in the show’s history, this conversation is hilarious, chaotic, and way more intense than most people realize. Murr breaks down how Impractical Jokers has stayed fresh for over a decade, why the show still works when so much TV feels fake, and how they keep pushing ideas without losing the authenticity that made people love it in the first place. He also shares how fame changed filming, why disguises became necessary, and what it’s really like to live in fear of public embarrassment for a living. But this episode goes deeper than just pranks. ⏱️ Chapters 0:00 Did He Go Too Far? 0:33 Murr Joins the Show 0:54 New Season, Same Chaos 2:14 Living in Fe...

like six hours later, I'm getting ready for bed with my wife, Melissa. We're brushing our teeth in the bathroom only Then I turned to my wife. I said, did I go too far? I climbed into an ice cream machine on the show not knowing that the bottom of the ice cream machine was a slab of dry ice. And I was in sh. And I was la. There for the joke for, like, 10 minutes. I came out, my leg exploded. Then I had to go to the emergency room. And he took out his cell phone and whacked me in the eye with it and gave me a full black eye. He chased me around the store for 10 minutes straight. Our security could not stop him.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
All right, guys, got another impractical joker on the show. We got mur this time. Let's go, man.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
What's up, buddy? How are you? Wait, who's on before?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Joe was on before.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
The hell with this. I thought it was the first.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Sorry, man. You're the second. That's not bad. That's not bad. I'm like. I'm like, thanos. I'm trying to catch all you guys on the show. What's new with you, man? Just wrapped up the last season, right? Except season, what, 17 or 12.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
New season. New season starts January 15th. We're back on TV. The new season starts in just a few days, depending on when this airs. January 15th onward, brand new season of Jokers every Thursday night for, like, the next three months. And then we. We go back to work, filming in March. So there you go.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Who would have thought? 13 seasons.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
And unfortunately, for some reason, I lose most of the episodes this season. Like, I already have nine episodes that are coming up. I. No joke. I think I lose, like, six of them or seven of them. Some. Six, seven. Some kind of crazy. I don't know. It's nuts.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Spoiler alert. Who's the biggest loser?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Overall, Sal and I are neck and neck. You can leave it open. Sal and I are, like, neck and neck. You're gonna have dogs on this podcast. By the way, we just adopted a third dog. His name is Squish, which hopefully doesn't become real, but, you know, he's. The dogs are all crazy, but. Yeah. So I think Sal and I are, like, literally neck and neck with how many episodes we've lost. Jeez.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Come on, man. You gotta step it up.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
I'm the biggest loser. What can I tell you?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Joe's the biggest winner, right?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
I. I think he is. Yeah. Historically, yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah. He doesn't seem to fear public shame.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
No, it isn't fear anything, for that matter. You know, I. I. Life constantly in fear of. Of, you know, getting tortured on the show.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Has your Embarrassment, tolerance gone up over the years, have you gotten a little more used?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Not so much in the TV show, but in real life. It has because, like, because we've done, I mean, we've been filming the show for 16 years now. Right. We're about to hit 16 years of filming in March. So because of that, I, I, I know what I can and can get away with in public, you know, so it's maybe seemingly fearless in public, but that's only because I've done it before on the TV show, so I know how far I can go, you know?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah, 16 years. Geez, it was in years. Were you getting recognized the first season or Walk me through the progression of how often that happened.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Oh, really? I mean, you know, we were back then, we're on TBS now, but back then we're on True tv, which was a very small network for a long time, and Jokers was a hit show and did really well, and that kind of redefined the network. But now we're on tbs, which is a much bigger network. But so season one, dude, we didn't even know if people were watching the show. Like, I remember, like, it was like season two's on tv and Joe and I come out of the subway. We were living in Manhattan together at the time. Come out of the subway, and these like two girls and the two boyfriends stop us. And they got like, thick Long island accents. And the girls say, the girls recognize us. The guys don't. The girls say, oh, my God, guys, look, look, look. And the boyfriend's like, who the hell is this? It's like, babe. And the girl says, you don't know. These are the impossible pranksters. On Wednesday night on Comedy Central, she got every detail wrong. The name, the network, and the day of the week.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
That's funny.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
I was like, kind of kept us humble.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
That's funny. And that was what season around.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
That was season two or three. Yeah, it's been a long time now we get recognized, but in this season coming up, we start wearing disguises. So season finale, I think I just put on my socials teasing. The season finale, we pranked a wedding. Dude, we haven't done a wedding in a decade because we can't do it anymore. We'll get recognized too often, right? So they had me in prosthetics for like five hours because I was working as like, the videographer of the wedding. And I was in full prosthetics. I had like a different cheekbones, different eyes, different blue eyes, different nose, different forehead, different mouth structure, A long Long blonde hair instead of being a bald middle aged guy.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Right.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
And I did not look like myself. Different glasses. And I had to work as the videographer of the wedding. And no one recognized me. And So I pranked 300 people at a real wedding. Only the bride and groom knew. And at the end of the punishment, the guys are like, mer, we want you to slowly back up and take down the wedding cake by accident. And I did. And audience I could physically throw out of the wedding. It was great fun.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Oh, my God. Did they have the backup cake at least?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah, it was a fake cake. We have a real. You know, it looks real. The audience doesn't know. The guests at the wedding thought it was the real cake. You know, they wheel it out, they take a picture with it, and then I back in and take the whole thing down.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Wow. That must have been one of your favorite ones to film, I bet.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Dude, it was like a dream come true, man. The last time we did a wedding was season one, so it was literally 15 years ago. So because the show's too the odds, it's just too hard to shoot it. Because if word spreads from people that recognize us, the bit's done. The show's gotta be real, you know?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Fifteen years since we did a wedding.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Wow. What are your favorite venues to film out? I would imagine weddings up there, but what else?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Well, selfishly, a supermarket. Cause we eat for free. You know, I always. I go onto the floor and I just start taking shit off shelves and eating it. And they can't say anything. Cause I was like, oh, it's part of the show, but it's not. It's just me eating it. Yeah.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So you're just snacking while you're filming.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah. And I love that this officer. Oh, we've done it six times. It's gold every time. Receptionists in a waiting room is always gold. Always. Every time. Any kind of like structure where we're in a position of authority or where people assume a certain professionalism between the relationship. That's always gold. So it could be us working as estheticians. Right. At a nail salon. There's a perceived relationship, an understanding of the way things go. Anytime there, people assume something about the professionalism of a relationship between you and that person. That's gold to f with. You know what I mean?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah. The dentist one was my favorite. The one where Sal and laid the guy recline all the way down.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Dude, that's season one. We were. That was season one. Season one. Wow. Yeah, it was iconic, man. Iconic. But Every time we've gone back to the dentist like six times, and it's still always great. We still. Because it's just. Because we have no idea what we're doing. No idea. We go training before we do a bit. It's not like I train with the dentist on how the tools work. I just figure it out, you know, like we go behind the counter at White Castle. I don't know how to use the cash register. In season one, they tried to teach us and was like, screw it, we're just comedians. Let's do it, you know? And so we go there and we don't know what the hell we're doing, man.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
To this day, I think that's why the show does too well, because it's so authentic. You guys are just freestyling, you know, it's not scripted like a lot of. A lot of TV these days. These days feels kind of fake, you know?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah, no, it's. It's always been real from day one. It still is. It's the. It's. Well, the thing is this. It's an improv show, right? But it's impossible to sell improv on tv with the rare exception of whose lies it anyway, right? Otherwise improv doesn't sell. It's too. Networks are too risk averse. So we created the show. We created this kind of BS format where it's a competition, it's us seeing who's the biggest loser, and we get thumbs up, thumbs down. It's all bs, right? It's just an improv show for sure, you know?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Are you guys running out of punishment ideas yet or is there still a lot in the pipeline that you got in mind?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
No, it's. We thought at the end of season one, we thought we run. We've done every idea. There's nothing left to do. Now here we are 15 years later, still coming with new stuff. It's. That's our job as we get paid, right? To keep reinventing the show and doing new things. I mean, last season I faked my own death on tv. Like, I don't think that prank has ever been done. Like, I faked my death. It was a punishment. It took me five years to do this punishment. And it went off perfectly if you
Podcast Host / Interviewer
didn't see it, I thought.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
So you did. So, yeah, Sal thought I lost it. But I write thriller novels, right. Outside of jokers. And so my newest one was called you better watch out. Right? It's a serial killer thriller. Came out like last Christmas. And. And so the publisher wanted me to Read. Read the audiobook, right? So the. Sal believed that I was going to read a chapter from the audiobook while strapped to the hood of a race car, screaming as a racer rider, like 100 miles an hour around a professional track. And I did. I did it for like 10 minutes, screaming the whole time. But then at a key moment around the track, a duplicate car pulled off at speed with the stunt guy on top holding the same book and dressed just like me. And I got ripped off the car, stripped off my fire hazmat suit, and I had an EMT outfit underneath, and I jumped into a waiting ambulance. And at the key moment of the track, the stunt guy, the driver, takes the turn too tight. The stunt guy, who Sal believes is me, flies off the car, hits the ground, rolls, rolls 20, 30ft. And everybody goes running. The crew goes running. They're all trained to do this. The ambulance comes whipping around the track. All the EMT workers, including me, come running out. I have a hat on, long hair, different glasses, and I start working on my own body. And when Sal goes running across the track, too, he thinks I'm dead, maimed. Who knows, right? They're calling for a helicopter. And at a key moment, I stand up, take the wig off, and I reveal the whole thing was a double cross. And the punishment was actually, as it was iconic, man. It's like five years into making that punishment.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Damn, you got him good on that one. You got him real good.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Got him. It was so funny, like that night. So we had real doctors on set, EMT workers. It was a dangerous stunt. I pulled legit, right? Being on top of a race car, going at that speed. So there's real ambulance people, real EMT workers on set. And an hour after we finished filming, they took Sal's blood. An hour afterward, they took Sal's blood pressure, and it was still like a 150, which is crazy, right? His pulse, right? And then later that night, he's like, the adrenaline high was so high for me, right? Hours later, it's like six hours later, I'm getting ready for bed with my wife, Melissa. We're brushing our teeth in the bathroom, and only then I turned to my wife. I said, did I go too far? Six hours later, I was like, maybe me faking my death took three year real years off my friend's life.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Holy crap. Have you ever felt like a punishment went too far? Other than that one?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
I mean, that's awfully close, right? But I mean, the one that famously they thought was going too far was it's still my license. To this day, my license. I still has no eyebrows. You know, I look like a see something, say something, man. And it's a 10 year punishment. So right before the shave of my eyebrows, Q stopped the guys on set and cut the cameras and had a sideline with him saying, this is too much, guys. We're going to screw them. Like, it's, it's permanent, like for 10 years. Like. And it expires in March. Two months expires finally.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
There we go. Finally. How long did it take to grow those back?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Those three months. The problem was, like I left the next day to go be my nephew's confirmation sponsor in church with. So I'm there in Virginia. The church is like 500 people in it. They all recognize me because everyone at the school that he goes to knows that Uncle Murr is Murr from Impractical Jokers. Right? And I come in and I've got no eyebrows, nothing. And they didn't know. I can't tell what it is because it hasn't been on TV yet. And so they're like, they're like, what the hell happened to Murr? Is he strung out? I looked, I looked like Satan, man.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Oh, my gosh, that's rough. That's super rough. Yeah, that's up there. There's been some bad ones. Who got the tattoo? Was that you?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
All of us. I have a tattoo of. I'll show you. Screw it. It's G rated. Just my thigh. I got a tattoo of a ferret skydiving on my leg. It's right there.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Oh, man, that's a big one.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
And then Sal has. Sal Q has a tattoo that says 38 lives alone, has three cats. But unfortunately he's now 49 years old and he has four cats. And then Sal famously has a tattoo now. He has two tattoos of Jaden Smith. He has Jane Smith, a black and white photo accurate portrait of Jaden Smith, 15 year old Jaden Smith on his right thigh and full color 20 year old portrait of Jaden Smith on his left thigh.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Oh my God. You guys are looking.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
No one in the world, right? So think about this. Earth is four and a half billion years old. Humans have been around what, like 200,000 years? No one in the 200,000 years of humanity's history has ever gotten one
Podcast Host / Interviewer
or
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
two James Smith tattoos. No one in the world. You know how rare that is to do something that no one in 200,000 years has ever done on Earth.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah, hats off to him, man. He pulled it off. Has Jaden Smith ever talked about it.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah, man. He was in the Joker's movie that came out a few years ago and he posed for the tattoo. He word about it and he, his family, fans of the show, we'd heard and so we got in touch with him in a comic Con. We were seeing you at Comic Con years ago and Sal showed him the tattoo and then he agreed to be in the movie to get Sal again and posed for two hours while they did a color version of it.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
That is wild. Yeah. You guys got movies, you do cruises. You do it, you do it all, man.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah, the Joker's cruise is a lot of fun, man. We have to do that again. We've done at this point.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Where does it leave out of?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
It's always different. It's usually Miami to somewhere in the Caribbean or New Orleans of the Caribbean or Fort Lauderdale Caribbean, something like that.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
You know, I know you guys are pranking everyone on the cruise or what are you guys doing there? Just doing comedy?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
No, no, no. It's, it's like we perform multiple times. We're peering all over, but then we curate all the acts on it. So there's like all the comedians and bands there with us. So like last cruise it was us and Eric Andre there and a bunch of, and Steve O was there and lots of our comedian friends, Adam Ray and things like that. And it's just, it's a week long party, man. It's a ton of fun.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Steve O. Legend did he bring about to do some wild pranks or wild.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
He, he started the cruise. We're set and sail from Miami. The, the kickoff party on the deck, the main deck of the ship. And he tucked his, you know what behind his legs. Comes out fully naked looking like the, the serial killer from Silence the Lambs. Weird dance scene. Got their genitals. It was so weird.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Oh my God.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
That dude. Friendly cruise man.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
He never fails to surprise people.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
No, no. Shocking.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
What are you working on now? You still writing the books?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah, I, I, so I, I, I've got nine books out. My fifth book, don't Move came out like three, four years ago. It's like a creature feature kind of movie or novel? We just shot it as a movie. It comes out in a few months. The movie's done. The movie's flipping awesome, man. In the movie is Rob Riggle, T Pain. Russ the rapper in his debut lead role movie. Lizzie Fonseca. Tom Kavanaugh Q from Impractical Jokers is in the movie and the movie's like really, really scary. But also surprisingly funny and heartfelt too, like. And then this year, returning. You better watch out into a movie as well. I'm working on the screenplay right now.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Crushing it, man. Let's go. You also got a railroad club that you're part of now, right?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
We're above it as we speak. It's right below us, if I can. It's unbelievable. So it's called. I'll tell you the story. Okay. So the story. Let me. Pacific. It's called Pacific Southern Railway. So the story. Limp. I'll show you a photo. Pursue southern.org I can't share my screen on this app though, unfortunately. But so last year it hits. Here, I'll show you a picture. I mean, it's an awesome, man. It's like, oh, it's perfect. It's the last year, like last December. It comes on my wife and I's radar. We live in Princeton, Jersey. Like Central Jersey. It comes on our radar, hits the Wall Street Journal last December. That one of America's longest running, oldest model railroad clubs. It's a nonprofit. It's been running. They bought the house in 1950, started building railroad. The club forms in 1964. So for decades, this club has been meeting in this house in the basement to build this professional model railroad. It's unbelievable, right? The railroad is bigger than the house itself. They knocked out a foundation wall and kept going under the lawn. So, like my wife and I's house, 10 minutes away is 4,200 square feet. It's not a big house. Right. The railroad club is 12,000 square feet of track to give you a sense of skies and scale. Right? So the owner of the house last year and the president of the club, sadly, he passed away from cancer. And so the widow was going to sell the house. And anybody that buys the house is going to be like, no, your model railroad club can't come into my home eight times a week to work on the trains. And you can't open up my house to the public every year. So no. So no one's gonna allow it. Right? So the night before it was put up for public sale, my wife and I bought the house to save the club. Cause I'm a huge train buff, right? And so we don't live here. I have an office here. Below my feet is the model railroad club. They're coming in in an hour to work on the trains. It's a nice operating session. And then the club has, like, grown dramatically. Of course, we. With me being a member of it now and owning the house and so like we had our annual Hope in house a few weeks ago and usually they get like 150 people come in, see the trains we had, we were sold out. We 1500 people came through this very house to see the model railroad trains in one weekend, three, four weeks ago. It was wild. And then it's really cool, man. I launched a merch store for the club and we do their logo and then we have box cars, which I don't have any up here, they're downstairs. But we have custom made boxcars now for Pacific Southern. And you can join if you want. We have virtual memberships now where I record videos for virtual members every two weeks. And you get free tickets to all events. You go to PacificSouthern.org to become a member and it's tax deductible. It's all for charity. So here you go.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Oh, I'll have to stop by next time I'm in Jersey.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Dude, it's awesome, man. Next time you're in Jersey. It's mind blowing. It's mind blowing. It's a piece of art. It's freaking amazing.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
How did you get into trains? I remember this in. When I was in high school, this one kid, he unfortunately he got bullied, but like, he loved trains. He used to love record them. I don't know if that was you, but how did you get into trains?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
It's, you know, my best memories of my childhood were my dad and I in the basement of our house in Staten island building our old Lionel trains, right? And figuring out we didn't know what we're doing to figure out wiring stuff. And. And we are what I thought was a big layup, but it was in comparison. And they're best members of my dad and I, right? And my dad a few years ago passed from Alzheimer's and to the day he died. If you either put on, if you put on improv Jokers, you would always laugh, right? And he was on many episodes of Jokers over the years. He didn't remember it was him, but he would laugh seeing himself on screen. If you put on the movie Airplane, he'd laugh and know every line. He'd put on a Frank Sinatra song, he knew every lyric. And so the day he died, if you put a model railroad magazine in his hands, he'd flip through every page with a smile on his face, which is just one of those core memories that's physical and tangible and it just gets locked in your brain and no disease takes it away. It's just long after he Forgot who we were and didn't know our names anymore. Those things still brought him joy, you know what I mean? That's the power of the hobby and the power of things like comedy. It really is.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Wow, that's so powerful. Yeah. You're very passionate about Alzheimer's research, right?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah. Well, you know, one of the things we do in the house here, we don't live here, but my wife owns a candle company, 95candles.com, and she built her candle company in the house. And we also run 95 charity.net, which is our Alzheimer's charity. So every year, once a year, we throw a huge Alzheimer's benefit to raise money for the Fisher center for Alzheimer's Research. And we run the charity event at. Our headquarters is here in the house. We don't do the event in the house. Our headquarters is here. So it ramps up in the fall where dozens of people are putting a whole charity event together. And we've raised, I mean, you know, hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars for Alzheimer's research in the past years.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Beautiful mind. Yeah, My dad had it. I have the Gene according to 23andMe. So I'm always actively trying to, you know, get my brain going.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah, well, you're young, though, right? How old are you?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I'm 28.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
You're good. You're good for a while.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
People are getting it younger these days, man. It's crazy. But thanks for doing that. That's awesome. Going back to impractical real quick, has anyone actually gotten injured other than your fake injury? Has anyone gotten a real injury on such.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah, man. I've been hidden twice in this show. I got punched twice. There was an episode where I knew it was going to happen both times. So it's not like it was a surprise. Right. I've been hurt many times, sometimes by people, sometimes by my own doing. Like, I got, you know, third degree burns on my leg or secondary burns, rather. I climbed into an ice cream machine on the show, not knowing that the bottom of the ice cream machine was a slab of dry ice. And I was in shorts and I was laying down there for the joke for like 10 minutes. I came out, my leg exploded. Then I had to go to the RC room. Sat. I was working as Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. Plug a wax statue. They put Vaseline all over my face and Sal put Vaseline in my ears and then push the earpiece in. The Vaseline bonded with my ear canal. I didn't know it. And then three days later, I could not Stand. I was vomiting profusely. It's because I had no equilibrium, and I got to get surgery. Blah, blah, blah. Then I went to the emergency room when I jumped out of the helicopter and all that kind of stuff, right? But I've been hit twice on the show, and famously, we. We edited them down to not screw up. I didn't want the viewers to feel bad, but I got hit twice. Once was shopping at a discount store in New York City where they have these giant bins of clothing. And there's this big guy. He's twice the size of mine, of me, three times the width of me. He's shopping for jeans. And they said, mer, you're not allowed to say a word to him, but we want you to go up to the supply and hold up. They ran down the biggest bra you've ever seen in your life. Like a size Z bra, right? They said, without saying anything, hold the bra up to this guy's chest. And we ask you, what if you're doing, say that he's the same size as your wife, and you want to see if the bra would fit her. And he took out a cell phone and whacked me in the eye with it and gave me a full black eye and chased me around the store for 10 minutes straight. Our security could not stop him. I ran downstairs to through multiple crew members all the way to the back of the place. It took multiple, multiple people to stop this guy from tech.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Holy crap.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
But I just knew it was gonna happen. Like, what's not on TV is I stepped off camera. I said, guys, I'll do it, but I know this guy. I'm a good reader character. After so 320 episodes of Jokers, I was like, I know this guy. I know this guy. Guy's character. I'll do it. But this is a particular kind of guy that he's gonna pop. And he popped. So it wasn't a surprise. Then I just got Tucker swimming me a few months ago, I was. I lost the episode, and I had to get caught peeing on people's cars in a parking lot. So, like, guy runs to the grocery store, leaves his car outside in the parking lot, then he comes back out, and I'm peeing on his car, on his tires, right? It was fake. They had a backpack on under my jacket. It looked yellow, came from my pants, but it wasn't real. And the guy freaking took a swing at me, man. Like, it happens. I know it's going to happen. You don't piss on people's Cars, you know.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Damn. So it sounds like you've gotten the worst of it, huh?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah, I always get the brunt of it, for sure.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
You must be good at, like you said, 320 episodes. So you're good at spotting the people that you know are going to react well, right?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
One billion percent. So I do. I tour solo, you know, a lot, you know. Yeah, I did. I did 88 solo shows last year. It was wild. Wow. And I was just on tour this weekend. I was in Madison. I got a bunch of, like, solo shows coming up. You get your tickets@merlive.com I'm all over the place, man.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I'm like.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
I got like, another 50 shows on the books already for this year, every year from. From. Gosh, I don't even know where I am. I'm Tulsa, Tacoma, San Diego, New Brunswick, Philly, Pottstown, Pennsylvania. I'm in Providence, Rhode Island. I'm in upstate New York. I'm all over the place. It's a lot of fun. I love it. But one of the things I do in my live show is I play jokers live, meaning I choose someone from the audience. It's my closing bit, right? I choose someone in the audience, put an earpiece in the ear, and send them out to the streets of that town. We watch on screen in the theater and live on the spot, they've got do say what I tell them to.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I love it.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Courageous. But I. But often, and I always tell them beforehand, there's keywords. If I say back off, back off, back off like three times in a row, it means get the F away from that person. Because I just know the type of person I'm like. I can tell by their physicality whether or not to mess with them or not, you know?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Right. Wow, that is cool. I definitely got to check that out. What are the craziest, most memorable cities you've performed? Comedy.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
And we had a great weekend. This weekend we were at Madison, Wisconsin. Then two weeks ago, I was in Greeley, Colorado, which they just made fun of in South Park, I think.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I never heard of that town. What are they known for there?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
They're known for manure, and they're known for. They have a giant meat processing plant in town. So the entire town, I kid you not, smells like they're processing meat, which I'll leave it to your imagination what that might smell like. So it's. But they also are famous for the Colorado Model Railroad Museum, which is. Which is spectacular. So we went there during the day, checked it out That's. I mean, it's the cornerstone of the town. It's unbelievable. So that was really cool. And the people of great color is awesome, you know?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah, man, you're doing a lot comedy, writing books, writing movies and impression workers. You don't get burnt out.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
I'm a high energy person as it is, but, you know, it is like, I don't know, I just had so little time in life.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
It's so much to do and so much to see. Right. And I get torn all the time between, like, I love doing what I do. Like writing these books is so much fun. Making movies is so much fun. Jokers is a blast. Touring is a blast. But I also like love being happily married, having my puppies and like traveling with my wife. We have a blast. We have so much fun. Like the world is so big and so little time. It's just, gosh, that's the human condition, isn't it? Right. Like just that constant tug of war between career and making money, providing for family and what have you. And also such little time to explore the world and experience everything there is to do and see and you know, and read and experience and it's tough, man, it's tough. But I try to do it as much as I can.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I have the same issue, man. I want to travel the world. I want to film with a guest in New York and Miami, you know, Texas. But I'm married now, so got to find that balance. It's tough. And I got two pups like you, so it's. It's hard. Australian shepherd and Bernie's mountain dog.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Oh, big. Holy smokes. Big dog.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah, you like?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Yeah, I got pennies right here on the side. She's in her bed, She's a lasso. Absol Havanese. And I got two Shih Tzus as well. So tiny pops.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Oh, three dog. Okay. Yeah, I'm big. I'm big and small for the next one because I want to travel with it, you know? Yeah, it's tough to Travel with the 80 pound Bernese Mountain dog.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
No kidding, man. But if you ever shrug snow, you, you're taking care of.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah, man, Joe's got so many dogs. He's got a shot there, right?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
Even I don't even know how. It's nuts.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I think if I went there, I'd want to adopt them all. That's my issue with dogs. I love it. Yeah.
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
The newest one we just adopted, his name is Squish. I mentioned, I think he saw. They just found him abandoned. He's a puppy. He's four months old. They found him abandoned on the streets in Philly. I was like, I can't have that, man. So we adopted him through Three weeks ago. We adopted him. And he's really good. He's really good. My wife is a very good trainer of dogs. So.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah, how'd you. How do you come up with that name?
Brian Quinn (Q) from Impractical Jokers
She came up with a name in order to convince me to adopt him. You know, like, it's such a cute name. And he's adorable as I. All right, we'll keep squish.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I love him. Omar, this is great, man. If you're ever in Vegas, I'd love to meet you in person.
