Josephine Musco
Plastic has been infiltrating our life in crazy ways. Like even your toothbrush, even the self care products, water bottles, feminine pads, makeup, gum, workout clothes. That's the worst one, too. People are wearing these polyester, super tight fitting clothes and they're going in heated rooms or you know, they're sweating and it's. And the friction is just. Our skin is our largest organ. So people really underestimate how much toxins can infiltrate in our body from the skin.
Interviewer
Okay, guys, we're at a 4M, day two. We got Josephine Musco here today. I just put her patented tea in my water and about to drink this thing. Or this is electrolytes, right?
Josephine Musco
That is electrolytes.
Interviewer
Okay, but you also make tea and you make sleep tea.
Josephine Musco
And I'm fat. Matcha matcha.
Interviewer
And it's all in a paper form. Could you show the paper on the. So it's not in a tea bag?
Josephine Musco
Yes. Well, you know, as we all know, and we've been hearing on and on all over social media and podcasts and everything that every time you steep a tea bag in hot water, it's releasing up to 11.6 billion microplastics in your cup, plus 3.1 billion nanoplastics. And that's a lot of plastic. Not to mention the bleach epicure drain. And if there's a staple on that tea bag, you're getting the lead. So we don't want all these toxins in our body. You know, everybody who drinks tea thinks they're healthy. You know, when we choose to drink tea, it's because we're healthier than the coffee counterparts. But, you know, we're drinking a cocktail of toxins. So I invented the tea strip. And you just put it in water and it completely dissolves. There is no nothing to throw away. No tea bags to deal with.
Interviewer
Wow. So you've officially made tea healthier than coffee then.
Josephine Musco
Yes.
Interviewer
That's crazy. Yeah, coffee has a lot of mold issues.
Josephine Musco
Mold. And it's very acidic. It's like. It's like drinking Coca Cola on empty stomach.
Interviewer
What? As far as wow.
Josephine Musco
Yeah.
Interviewer
Well, I know you're supposed to drink water and coffee. Three to one ratio.
Josephine Musco
Yes.
Interviewer
If you drink a cup of coffee, you're supposed to drink three cups of water.
Josephine Musco
Maybe have some like olive oil, you know, empty stomach.
Interviewer
Yeah, I know you're big on olive oil, right?
Josephine Musco
I have olive. I have a patent on olive leaf powder as well, that it's very high in antioxidants and olives.
Interviewer
Beef powder, olive leaf oh, leaf, Olive leaf powder.
Josephine Musco
And so the olive leaves from the tree, and I developed, I have a patent on that as well. I developed a process to dry the leaves where they, where they create more antioxidants. Then we stabilize the antioxidants in them so they are stable and bioavailable for the end consumer.
Interviewer
Wow.
Josephine Musco
Because when, when you pick a fruit or something from the tree, it starts deteriorating, start losing antioxidants. And with exposure to light, water, difference in temperature, those antioxidants really don't survive too long. So my process actually makes the fresh product create more antioxidants and then we stabilize antioxidants. They are not deteriorating.
Interviewer
Wow. Yeah. I have heard that a lot of fruits and vegetables at the grocery stores are kind of dead. They say. Right.
Josephine Musco
That's why we should go to the farmer's market and get, get the farmer's market.
Interviewer
I love farmers markets. And a lot of olive oil apparently too, in the grocery store.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. It's oxidized. You know, light plays a big role on oxidation of the antioxidants and phenolic content goes down tremendously.
Interviewer
Yeah. Because there's also seed oils in some of them too.
Josephine Musco
Seed oils are the worst. I know. You've maybe heard of Benazadi. Have you interviewed him?
Interviewer
I've heard of him.
Josephine Musco
So Benazadi is big on non seed oils, but also Dr. Pompa as well.
Interviewer
Yeah, yeah.
Josephine Musco
Seed oils stay in your body for over two years and they act almost like a, I want to say like a shrink wrap. So they come and they asphyxiate your healthy cells and they prevent them from, from proliferating properly and from, you know, rejuvenating and, you know, being healthy on the microcellular level.
Interviewer
Two years.
Josephine Musco
You said two years.
Interviewer
Holy crap. I'm about to try this water. I drink electrolytes a lot.
Josephine Musco
You have to take it a little bit more.
Interviewer
A little more. Oh, does it have to dissolve full?
Josephine Musco
Yes, yes.
Interviewer
Okay, there we go. Yeah. Now you can see the color.
Josephine Musco
Yes.
Interviewer
Dang, that's crazy. Well done.
Josephine Musco
Thank you.
Interviewer
I drink electrolytes, but it comes in like a package. So there's probably plastic.
Josephine Musco
Probably, you know, and also who wants to deal with powder?
Interviewer
Yeah. Everything packaged these days is plastic.
Josephine Musco
Yes.
Interviewer
It's crazy.
Josephine Musco
Well, actually, plastic has been infiltrating our life in in like crazy ways. Like even your toothbrush, even the self care products, watered bottles, you know, feminine pads, makeup, gum. Yeah, gum. Workout clothes. That's the worst one too, you know, because people are wearing these polyester super Tight fitting clothes. Yeah. And they're going in there in heated rooms or, you know, they're sweating and it's. And the friction is just, you know, our skin is our largest organ, so people really underestimate how much toxins can infiltrate in our body from the, from the skin. So I like to go with like organic cotton workout clothes.
Interviewer
I go to hot yoga once in a while.
Josephine Musco
Yeah.
Interviewer
And I. That's all I think about when I see the girls are wearing yoga pants.
Josephine Musco
Yes. That's really tight.
Interviewer
Part of me wants to go up to them and tell them, but I don't know if it's weird. You know, it might take offense to it.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. I mean, even me, like. Yeah. Did people take offense to it? There are some cool brands right now coming out with organic cotton, which I've been buying from. But yes, you know, like, you can't beat the fashion of like alo yoga. Right. Like, they've come so far with, you know, the cute outfits and cuts and so for sure.
Quantum Upgrade Advertiser
Yeah.
Interviewer
You come from the fashion space, right?
Josephine Musco
Yes.
Interviewer
So it must be hard to balance that with a healthy material. Right?
Josephine Musco
Yeah. Yeah. You always have to, you always want to look good. And then when you, when you want to try to look for sustainable fabric and organic stuff, the companies are so small that they have not really invested much in the design and the technical, the, you know, cuts and stuff. So it's always a fine line of like, you know, what do, what do I do? What do I compromise on my health or the look? So, you know, I try to find a good medium.
Interviewer
The margin isn't as good for them too.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. And they're usually smaller companies and they're not heavily funded.
Interviewer
Yeah. I struggle with that too, because finding linen that looks good is kind of hard.
Josephine Musco
Yeah.
Interviewer
You know, linen shorts or pants or shirts.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. Linen actually has the highest vibrations.
Interviewer
That's why I want it. Yeah. Linen and I think organic cotton and bamboo.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. Linen has the highest vibration. Organic cotton has the same as our skin. My Bluetooth. But linen is much higher vibration than our skin.
Interviewer
So you're big on vibration?
Josephine Musco
I am big on vibration. Everything I do is actually, even my jewelry company, we are very intentional. The, the stones that we use are all sustainably sourced and they are blessed. So we produce in Bali, which is a very spiritual place, and so everything is blessed in the morning. Our team always has ceremonies and yeah, we, we really, you know, when they work, they're essentially working. Everybody is treated well because we want them to put their good energy in the pieces. As well.
Interviewer
I love that. The energy is important to me, for sure. Man, you got me sold on this. This is so easy. This actually tastes really good too. Could I read the packaging?
Josephine Musco
Yes, of course.
Interviewer
Let's see what's in this thing. No added sugar, right?
Josephine Musco
No added sugar, no.
Interviewer
Yeah. Potassium, Sodium. Yeah, that's solid.
Josephine Musco
And these electrolytes, I actually formulated them specially to be optimized for female health because normal electrolytes are optimized for everybody. But what they're doing is they are causing water retention in women because there is too high of a sodium content in them. So these are more. More mindfully formulated to. To be, you know, for. For women. So men and women can take them, but they're not going to cause water retention in females.
Interviewer
Interesting. I didn't know electrolytes were doing that to females.
Josephine Musco
Well, there's sodium. They have a lot of sodium in them. So this does not have as much sodium. It's more gentle.
Interviewer
Wow, that's cool. You sell these online yet?
Josephine Musco
We sell these online. We also sell it. Erwan.
Interviewer
Oh, really?
Josephine Musco
We are on Amazon, poosh.com, which is Courtney Kardashians platform, and we are about to go into 800 stores. March.
Interviewer
Holy crap. How did you learn to be this kind of business? It's impressive.
Josephine Musco
You know, I pray. I am. I am really spiritual manifest. I just pray and I always. I never ask for anything. I just always say what's good for me. Bring it closer. Really? Yeah. And just being a good person, working hard and, you know, being perseverant, they. There's something about business. People think, oh, you're so lucky. There is no luck in business. In business, there is hard work. There's not giving up and there's just keep on going, you know, just being unstoppable. And it's like all the mindset, really, Sean, like, you probably. I mean, you're very successful and you are a great example of, you know, you can make anything happen if you put your mind to it.
Interviewer
Yeah.
Josephine Musco
So people just give up. And I feel there's a lot of laziness, for sure, in society.
Interviewer
So mindset's huge.
Josephine Musco
Yes.
Interviewer
I don't think if I had the mindset I did 10 years ago, I would make it. I used to be very negative.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. You got to be positive a hundred percent.
Interviewer
Yeah. Although most successful people I know are very, like, optimistic.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. It's eventually what you put out in the universe comes back to you.
Interviewer
Yeah.
Josephine Musco
Several folds, actually.
Interviewer
Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah. Kardashian. She Became a billionaire, right?
Josephine Musco
Yeah. Yeah.
Interviewer
Kim.
Josephine Musco
I think Kim. Yeah. They all kind of have some type of status.

Quantum upgrade IO the candle actually endorses our product. She just spoke about it in Vogue magazine.
Interviewer
Wow.
Josephine Musco
As part of the things that are in her purse all the time. And Courtney is the one who carries nice our product and push.
Interviewer
They're big on health. I noticed now.
Josephine Musco
Yeah, they're getting more and more interested in health because you know, you can have all the money in the world but if you don't have your health, you have nothing. Right.
Interviewer
Yep. Health is a new flex. I think it is. If you're healthy, it's like yes, more impressive to me than having money, honestly.
Josephine Musco
And it's also, I think looking good and being healthy says a lot about the person, about their discipline, about self respect and about, you know, how, how much they put into their, you know, themselves that the self investment is very important. Yeah. You know, we want to talk about microplastics real quick. The reason why I care a lot about microplastics is not only are they infiltrating our body through a lot of different modalities like we already mentioned, but they are causing tremendous health issues. You know, I can name a few. One is infertility. 58% of people that had heart surgery, they found microplastics in the plaque of their arteries. And that is, that's a lot causing premature aging of the skin. So when you see fine lines around the eyes, around on the face, that is caused by, by also microplastics, you can also. They are so, you know, especially when they're heated, they become very, very small, and they can really penetrate the gut microbiota, the brain barrier. And when they penetrate the gut microbiota, what's happening is they are preventing our body from absorbing nutrients properly, which, you know, leads to nutrient. Nutrient deficiencies. They are also. What they do is they mimic our hormones, they mimic estrogen, and, you know, they cause all kinds of health issues. Infertility, acne. They're finding them in the testicles. They are. And it's causing low testosterone. They are also dendric cells try to break them up, but because they cannot recognize what they are if they just keep on breaking them up, and that causes inflammation.
Interviewer
I think I have them in my body.
Josephine Musco
Well, you know, I have a lot of good ways for you to detox from them. We all have that.
Interviewer
Yeah.
Josephine Musco
You know, there's no running away from it.
Interviewer
I. The reason I think that is because you mentioned the estrogen issues. I just got some blood work done, and my estrogen levels were high.
Josephine Musco
Yeah.
Interviewer
And I don't even eat foods with estrogen.
Josephine Musco
Right.
Interviewer
So I thought that was weird.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. I mean, estrogen hormone is like a whole science, and estrogens really need cholesterol. So I think for. For you to be able to figure out what's going on, really, aside from microplastic detoxification, I would recommend doing a Dutch test. It's going to give you a lot of insight on your hormones and what's going on. But then you do a whole panel on your micronutrients, vitamins, and all that stuff.
Interviewer
Yeah.
Josephine Musco
And once that is fixed and leveled up, then I think your body can regulate itself.
Interviewer
Okay. Yeah, I should probably do that. Gotta get my hormones fixed.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. And, you know, it's good to eat some kimchi. Fermented foods are great. Rebounding is good.
Interviewer
Rebounding?
Josephine Musco
Yes. Like a trampoline. Like a little jumping. Yeah, like the little trampoline thing. Yeah.
Interviewer
Yeah.
Josephine Musco
So like, when you wake up in the morning, you do like, 10 minutes of that.
Interviewer
Wow. Yeah, I know. Tony Robbins does that.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. It activates your glymphatic system, which is responsible of, like, getting rid of the toxins in your body and everything we don't want. And then I'll get you my lymphatic tea because it's got guarana and yerba mate. And these are all key herbs that are in high concentrations in my tea strips that will help activate your lymphatic system to help you detoxify. And then we have the PM one, which has high level of the olive leaf powder, which is high in antioxidants, which are free radical scavengers. Science. And those will attach to your toxins and help the body. Really?
Interviewer
You got it all figured out.
Josephine Musco
Yes.
Interviewer
I could see why people travel with this.
Josephine Musco
It.
Interviewer
It looks. It's very convenient. If you got a water bottle, you could just.
Josephine Musco
You know what? I actually created a one more thing that makes it so much even more fun and cool to travel with. It's a case and you just.
Interviewer
Oh, wow.
Josephine Musco
You can put your tea in here.
Interviewer
That's so easy. You can put that in your pocket.
Josephine Musco
Pocket. Or in your pocket purse and travel with it.
Interviewer
Well done.
Josephine Musco
Thank you.
Interviewer
You're going to be the next big electrolyte company. There's some big ones these days.
Josephine Musco
Yeah, yeah.
Interviewer
Element. And there's a few. Oh, Santa Paleo. Have you seen that one?
Josephine Musco
No, I have not seen that one.
Interviewer
Santa Cruz Medicinals.
Josephine Musco
Okay.
Interviewer
Yeah, that's a big one. They do.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. I've heard of Element, but that's the thing is like, they're not optimized for female bodies, so.
Interviewer
Right.
Josephine Musco
I'm really excited to be offering something that not only is plastic free, toxin free, but it's also optimized for your health.
Interviewer
You also have to be careful what salt you use. I heard.
Josephine Musco
Yes.
Interviewer
Some of them have heavy metals and plastics in them, right?
Josephine Musco
Yes. And you have to, you have to. When you source your ingredients, you have to have CFAs. And when you get CFAs, they usually come with all kinds of different tests. And, you know, we always third party test all of our products to make sure that, you know, everything is super clean. There's no heavy metals.
Interviewer
We're smart for that. Wow. What made you transition from fashion into health?
Josephine Musco
You know, my, my father passed away with cancer and that set me on like a health journey at a very young age. So at the age of 15, I started really researching how to override your. Your genes. So I went into epigenetic research and really got into health from then. And then when he passed away, I wanted to kind of honor his. His life and do some studies on some things that he. He was really big on health, which is ironic. So I wanted to do some studies on things that he used to teach me about and started. I went to the USDA and they gave me a credit agreement, which is when the government finances your studies that you, you have to convince them to do that. And I started doing my research at the USDA lab and came up with my first patent.
Interviewer
Wow.
Josephine Musco
When that happened, I was like, okay, I have to do a product with that because you can't just have a patent and just got to. And yeah, that's.
Interviewer
You've been doing it for a while.
Josephine Musco
Yes. Yeah, it's kind of my, my way of living, my way of life even. My daughter is fully biohacked.
Interviewer
Nice.
Josephine Musco
No sugar. Thank you.
Interviewer
No sugar.
Josephine Musco
No sugar.
Interviewer
That's impressive for a kid.
Josephine Musco
No, no food dyes. She actually, even if you are at like a birthday party, she won't even eat the cake. I'm like, here, have it.
Interviewer
You know, no vaccines.
Josephine Musco
It's just no vaccines.
Interviewer
Well done. The average kid I just found out eats 150 grams of sugar a day.
Josephine Musco
Yeah. And then they wonder why they have ADHD and hyperactivity and they get mad at their kids and you know, don't, don't be mad at your child. You're not giving them the tools to actually have a regulated nervous system. And my daughter wakes up and she's having steak and egg.

Josephine Musco
Having avocado. She's having. We, you know, we don't have, we don't have anything in boxes in my house. No boxes go in my pantry. There's no boxes.
Interviewer
That's really impressive.
Josephine Musco
Everything that comes in a box usually has, you know, or ingredients that you can't, you can't read, you know, so we make everything from scratch. And no additives, no preservatives.
Interviewer
Yeah.
Josephine Musco
Because all that is really terrible. And you know, Dr. Amen did study on kids brain after eating red 40 and it it was similar. The brain activity was similar to. To that of cocaine. I mean, it's. It's crazy. So, you know, children really need to be fed properly.
Interviewer
Yeah.
Josephine Musco
In order to have to be able to be functional human beings in society.
Interviewer
So she's never been sick? Probably.
Josephine Musco
I really know. I mean, even she does. She catches something, we knock it out very fast.
Interviewer
That's awesome. That's so cool. Yeah, I. I want to do that with my kids. It is a lot of work though, right?
Josephine Musco
Not really. I mean, once it becomes part of your life, it just becomes as easy as drinking water because it just. It's part of your life. It's not something that you are trying hard to do. It's part of your ritual. You know, I don't eat processed foods. My dad. So we don't have it in the house. So it's very easy for my daughter not to have access to processed food because it's not in our cabinets.
Interviewer
Do you eat at restaurants?
Josephine Musco
I eat at restaurants, but I have a seed oil card.
Interviewer
You have Dr. Pompa's card or a different one?
Josephine Musco
Dr. No, Ben Azadi's card.
Interviewer
Oh, Ben has one.
Josephine Musco
Yeah.
Interviewer
Okay. I got to see this thing.
Josephine Musco
I need to buy this when I arrive. I'll get you one.
Interviewer
That's hilarious.
Josephine Musco
We'll get you.
Interviewer
So you show the server this card and it has all the things you're allergic to, right?
Josephine Musco
Yeah. And I tell them I'm allergic to all these seed oils.
Interviewer
Yeah. This makes it so easy because it's annoying trying to explain this, you know?
Josephine Musco
Yeah. They give it to the chef, and you'll be surprised. Even like Michelin star restaurants, they come back with me with the. With the. With the menu, half of it scratched off. Like, we can't even accommodate it with that seed oil. And I'm like, so $150 steak is bathed in seed oil.
Interviewer
Canola, usually. Right.
Josephine Musco
Canola oil.
Interviewer
So, yeah, I go to the. Because Vegas has a lot of good steakhouses, and I think almost all of them use seed oils.
Josephine Musco
You know, there's an app called Seed Oil Scout.
Interviewer
Yeah, that's a great app.
Josephine Musco
That's a great app because it saves you a lot of headaches.
Interviewer
Yeah, yeah, it's. It's a life saving app, honestly.
Josephine Musco
Yeah.
Interviewer
I'm at the point now where when I do e oils, my. My stomach screwed up for the rest of the day.
Josephine Musco
Yeah, it's. You know, especially when you have a very clean diet and way of living, when you take toxins, your body really, like, revolts. Against it. Like, no, I don't want this in my body.
Interviewer
Yeah.
Josephine Musco
But you know, if you, when, when that happens to you, just really load up on antioxidants. Just take a lot of antioxidants, hydrate properly and, you know.
Interviewer
Absolutely. Well, this was great. What, what's next for you? Where can people buy the products and, and keep up with you?
Josephine Musco
What was the question?
Interviewer
What, what's next for you? Where can people buy this and where can people find you?
Josephine Musco
So people can buy this@olexer.com which is the website. It's on Amazon, on push.com and soon we're going to be in a lot of Target stores so they can find us on Target shelves. And we will be launching a lot more teas. We have a chai coming. We have a lot of different new teas that are coming that will be, you know, satisfying to even more tastes and demands of the consumer.
Interviewer
Perfect. We'll link it in the video. Thanks for coming on.
Josephine Musco
Thank you. Thanks for having me.
Interviewer
Yeah, check them out, guys. Get some tea. Peace.
