And Rosenberg Alan just expressed theoretical arousal about the Dolly Parton puppet. This isn't North Dakota. This is New York. This is Don, Han and Rosenberg.
Don Hahn
The best threesome I've ever heard on.
Peter Rosenberg
8 80, ESPN and the ESPN New York app. Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy. It is three o' clock shock. Shocking awe. I know. And it is Peter Rosenberg and Ty Butler.
Ty Butler
Let's do it.
Peter Rosenberg
Second to last time, Skins is. Who am I on with next week? Is everyone back?
Ty Butler
It's you and Don.
Peter Rosenberg
Me and Don.
Ty Butler
So that's like a, you know, complete opposite ends of the spectrum, yo.
Peter Rosenberg
You know what's crazy? By the way, by the time Han is back, I won't have seen him in like six, seven weeks.
Ty Butler
But he doesn't really care much for you, so I don't know.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, by the way, it's one of the best points you've ever made, so that much is clear. I got to tell you, though, and we're going to. We're going to have a fun day today. It's Don Hahn and Rosenberg. It's 880 ESPN New York. I've been enjoying the hell out of this week.
Ty Butler
I'm having fun, man. We got some love for the Paul Heyman interview. And I got to tell you, this started like, in the last week. I think WWE is pulling me back in. Can someone take General Hospital off this screen?
Peter Rosenberg
I can't believe this is a thing. Every day with this guy. We got to turn off General Hospital.
Ty Butler
I can't have it.
Peter Rosenberg
So are you jealous? So real quick, before you're getting sucked back into wwe, be honest. Are you a little jealous of Stephen A.
Ty Butler
That he's on General Hospital? Yeah, I wouldn't say jealous.
Peter Rosenberg
But you don't care about being on it. You just like the show.
Ty Butler
No, I like to be on it. I've spoken to the executive producer before. You have Frank Valentini. Yeah, we've emailed.
Peter Rosenberg
So you have tried.
Ty Butler
I have. Well, it's. The problem is I could see it.
Peter Rosenberg
No, you're not.
Ty Butler
But, you know, in working your way up there.
Peter Rosenberg
But respectfully, I think you better looking.
Ty Butler
Than Steven A. Oh, you don't even have to say respectfully. I think everyone knows that.
Peter Rosenberg
I mean, listen, he's much richer, much more successful, but he's got years on you. And you can make up some ground here with the looks.
Ty Butler
I think I can get there.
Peter Rosenberg
So what did the executive say? Do you make a pitch?
Ty Butler
I didn't really make a pitch. It was just introducing myself.
Peter Rosenberg
All right, allow me to read. Allow me to introduce myself.
Ty Butler
I've got some interest. It was also during COVID so there was, like, no opportunity for me to fly out there and, you know, see.
Peter Rosenberg
This in LA vehicle.
Ty Butler
It's an la. Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
All right. I didn't know. I didn't. Yo. But every day we get here, can someone turn off General Hospital? You're like a diva about it. You demand that General Hospital. By the way, why is General Hospital on In. In. In the studio here?
Ty Butler
ABC7.
Peter Rosenberg
But what was on ABC7 that people.
Ty Butler
Have on might be the view of.
Peter Rosenberg
The people throwing on the view of them. But Carlin's a big view guy.
Ty Butler
Jake Aspen, he's a big view.
Peter Rosenberg
You think asthma's turning on the view?
Ty Butler
That's the vibe you get, by the way, we have. We have to have a very uncomfortable conversation, you and I.
Peter Rosenberg
You want to tease it or we.
Ty Butler
No, I think we got to have this right out the gate.
Peter Rosenberg
Cheese Louise, Papa cheese.
Ty Butler
I need Anthony to be paying attention. He's talking to the intern. But there's something very, very unfortunate that happened this week. But it's so perfect. It's so perfect. So we had a segment, an entire segment dedicated to you, I think. What would I say? You took exception to a lot of people not hitting you up at the station for your birthday. Right. It's fair to say that you felt a little disrespected.
Peter Rosenberg
Right?
Ty Butler
That's fair to say.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ty Butler
Who was the guy that you said it hurt the most that he didn't reach out to you?
Peter Rosenberg
Who is the. Anthony.
Ty Butler
Anthony. Yeah. Anthony. So it hurt you dearly that Anthony Pusick?
Peter Rosenberg
Was it his birthday?
Ty Butler
He did not reach out to you today, Anthony, when was your birthday?
Peter Rosenberg
It was yesterday. Well, how would I have known that? I got a poster. You didn't. So. By the way. So wait, who's supposed to feel bad here? Me or Anthony?
Ty Butler
You're supposed to feel bad.
Peter Rosenberg
Hold on. Am I supposed to feel guilty or am I supposed to feel disrespected that Anthony got a birthday post?
Ty Butler
No, no, no, no. See, this is what Bart tries to do where we, you know, take us in a different direction to get us all muddy. Let's focus on what happened, all right? Did you or did you not wish Anthony Pusick a happy birthday yesterday?
Peter Rosenberg
I didn't. Absolutely did not.
Ty Butler
But you. But you got mad at him for not doing the same for you, and he actually did. It was just later in the day.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, he'd been informed because you know why? Someone was a good friend to him and said, anthony, I don't want to make you look bad. It was probably Jacob, I don't want to make you look bad. You should hit up Peter.
Ty Butler
Cool.
Peter Rosenberg
Anthony says, no problem. You're right.
Ty Butler
Whoa.
Peter Rosenberg
Peter. Happy birthday.
Ty Butler
I'm sorry, do you not follow the station account?
Peter Rosenberg
Hold on. You sat with me yesterday. I just want to be clear here, guys. There is a bad guy involved here, and he's sitting to my left. That means all day, Ty knew it was Anthony's birthday and thought, I want to see if Rosenberg will fail so I could rub it in his face tomorrow. You nasty. Eddie.
Ty Butler
I wanted you to. I wanted you to feel. Because we.
Peter Rosenberg
That's hard. It's unforgivable.
Ty Butler
But it's just perfect.
Peter Rosenberg
That's penalty.
Ty Butler
We're 48 hours removed from you saying it. Would it hurt you the most to not hear from him?
Peter Rosenberg
Are you sure his birthday was yesterday?
Ty Butler
Am I sure his birthday was yesterday? He just. He just came on the mic and.
Peter Rosenberg
Said, anthony, how old did you turn yesterday?
Ty Butler
31. And now don't say, like, it's not a big birthday.
Peter Rosenberg
Not 30. I was big, though. I was on. I. Sure I said something on your 30th, didn't I?
Ty Butler
So how do you feel about that? I imagine. How do you feel about that?
Peter Rosenberg
I'm so. I'm just being honest. I'm so overwhelmed by how bad a guy you are that I can't even think about how bad a guy I am. I'm not saying I'm not a bad guy. I'm saying you have completely overshadowed me in being a bad guy. Because you wanted it to happen.
Ty Butler
No. What's the. The biggest problem about our country is the lack of accountability.
Peter Rosenberg
I couldn't agree with you more. So are you going to take accountability for the fact that you intentionally had this happen? Admit it right now, you are a religious man before God. Did it cross your mind yesterday during the show that you could tell me and I would do a thing on the air and do a whole. Or did you think it would be better radio if I see if he can go the whole day without saying it?
Ty Butler
You're right. That. That. That happened.
Peter Rosenberg
Bad guy.
Ty Butler
But the responsibility falls on you first. We can both be wrong in this. But you're. You're more wrong, if that's the thing.
Peter Rosenberg
Who. That is a great question. Who's more wrong?
Ty Butler
Me.
Peter Rosenberg
Who? It did not come up on my. On my out. I didn't do a lot of scrolling yesterday.
Ty Butler
You should know this. That's your producer, bro. You've worked with him for what, 10 years now?
Peter Rosenberg
I don't. I don't think Anthony know this because.
Ty Butler
He spent so much time ripping interns. If you had been.
Peter Rosenberg
Maybe I should know their birthday. This guy over here, old. Old collar, shirt. Well, I should know his birthday. You remember that episode of the Office when.
Ty Butler
I haven't watched the Office. I'm sorry. This is going to fall flat.
Peter Rosenberg
Jacob, you watch the Office, right? Oh, yeah.
Ty Butler
God.
Peter Rosenberg
I have a couple of friends who've never watched the Office and it's like I'm personally offended.
Ty Butler
Are they doing like a remake now?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, they're supposed to do like a remake. They're doing it somewhere. It already is a remake. But this is the era we live in. But there's an episode where Michael Scott goes. I'm going. He talks about how he has a device to remember everybody's name. And if he says one thing, it then leads him to remembering the name. But it's so terrible and everything's offensive. One of the guys he calls shirty, I think one of them, he goes, black guy just literally has no. Anyways.
Ty Butler
Wait, what'd you just call it? The Internet?
Peter Rosenberg
Old collar. What did I say? Old collar. Shirt. Collar, shirt.
Ty Butler
Can we give Anthony the proper happy belated birthday?
Peter Rosenberg
I think I need to build it up more because this deserves something.
Ty Butler
The real iron irony. Not ironic.
Peter Rosenberg
I was. Ironic irony. The irony about it all is I don't care. But of course you don't hate yourself. But I love you, so I can. But I find it funny. I told Ty, I said when he. When he came in today, he goes, happy birthday. I forgot. I'm like.
Ty Butler
A lot of people forgot. I don't make it a big deal.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, did you forget?
Ty Butler
No, the thing that happened was I saw it, like, as we were talking, but I wanted to make it a radio segment bit, which is why I didn't wish him happy birthday. Like in person. I wanted to do it on the radio, but then I forgot to bring it up during the show. That's what actually happened.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm like, I'm sort of flabbergasted right now. Well, guess what? I'm gonna make up for this before the show is over. This will be made up for, believe you me.
Ty Butler
You vow to have it happen?
Peter Rosenberg
I vow Something's gonna happen.
Ty Butler
Some people.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm gonna have a string of great Rangers on the show. I'm gonna blow his mind. Jagger's coming on amazing Richter. It's going to be a non stop one after another. You're not going to believe it. Your head's going to spin. So many Rangers going to be on the show.
Ty Butler
I'm just surprised you didn't call this whole thing a hoax.
Peter Rosenberg
I know. Was it a hoax?
Ty Butler
No, it's not. Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
That's real. Happy birthday, Anthony. Happy belated birthday. So I asked the audience at 1-800-919-3776 be honest with yourself. Who is the worst person? Me, who completely honestly missed it or Ty Butler who knew it was happening and didn't say anything because he wanted me to look like a jack wagon. I ask you guys to call and tell us where you land. However, we also have. We're going to talk about so many things today. There's football to discuss. There is the Yets and the Giants.
Ty Butler
Why are we doing that? Pronunciation?
Peter Rosenberg
I don't know. Why not the Js. It's a soft J. I thought like yogging.
Ty Butler
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes. Let's hear from Aaron Glenn. What is the plan for the starters this weekend? We're playing. I can't tell you how like how much guys are going to play. You know, it's going to affect about how the game goes. But we're playing reason, you know, because I want to play. That's the reason. It's important at this point for Justin. These guys, I want our guys to play. That's the reason.
Ty Butler
I see sound so angry.
Peter Rosenberg
By the way, do you know my theory on Aaron Glenn?
Ty Butler
That he's a try hard?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. I'm not a fan from the first.
Ty Butler
Oh, I've been on that from the.
Peter Rosenberg
First day I heard his audio. I was like, all right, he's done. It ain't gonna work out now. Listen, I admit it, I can be wrong. But two things. One, I don't care if I'm wrong. And number two, we don't work with them anymore. I don't like the cut of his jib. He maybe It'll turn around and he won't be annoying. But so far he's Mr. Joe football try hard guy and I find it annoying.
Ty Butler
Well, he's like a reincarnation of Bill Parcells, but he's not problem.
Peter Rosenberg
But he's not. You're not.
Ty Butler
Bill was a lot more successful than you. And by the way, last time. So what's his specialty? Defense. Last time we saw your defense, my man Jaden Daniel was cooking y' all in the playoffs. So you can come in here with all the rah rah that you want to.
Peter Rosenberg
Rah rah sis boom bah if you want.
Ty Butler
Listen, you got to win some football games. I do. I don't know if agree is the right word, but I do respect the fact that he's going to play his starters this week.
Peter Rosenberg
Me too. I just give me a normal answer. Here's Sauce Sauce Gardner's thoughts on playing in the first preseason game.
Ty Butler
I love football. Like, I'm obsessed with football, so any.
Peter Rosenberg
Chance I got to play, I'm always going to like, love the idea of it. If y' all look, we've been tackling in practice, so I was pretty sure that he was going to us to be able to tackle another team, like, you know, so I'm embracing that and I'm looking forward to it. But I definitely was not surprised.
Ty Butler
None of us were surprised when he said that. I like it.
Peter Rosenberg
You like to hear that, don't you?
Ty Butler
You want to see your starters in week one. Now my question is, is he playing Justin Fields? Because these practices haven't gone well and we've, we've seen all the reports offense doesn't look good. I saw he had a good practice today. So is it out of necessity?
Peter Rosenberg
It's a good question.
Ty Butler
Or is it because, like, he's an wants to bring back like Andy Reid plays his starters in Week one. Yeah, he plays his starters. Like he said today, Mahomes is going to play a series this weekend. So I'm just trying to figure out, like, is this more of his mentality, old school, or does he feel like because Justin has struggled so much, we got to get him out there in some live action.
Peter Rosenberg
You want maybe how about this? Is it possible now that we're adjusting to this shortened preseason though, Ty that like we're going to see it become a thing that people just start playing. I hope like the trend could change. Like everything about football is trends. We don't like, talk about it enough, you know, like the depleting of sort of the value of the running back position. And we see all of these things cycle around. I think there's a chance that people may, like, you know, we. We saw how it was working when we didn't play people in the preseason. People still get hurt constantly. And most teams come out completely flat for the first month. So maybe we'll see a period where, like, nah, they play some in every game, or certainly one and two.
Ty Butler
I hope so, because what's become of the preseason? It's a joke. I actually got excited for the hall of Fame game just because football was back.
Peter Rosenberg
I completely missed it. I was. I was completely checked out.
Ty Butler
And it's like, my man Tirico's up there. Chris Collinsworth feels like a big team. No.
Peter Rosenberg
You feel like you're back.
Ty Butler
Yeah, it feels like we're back. And, you know, Trey Lance is out there throwing hammers.
Peter Rosenberg
You know what happens when you see Trey Lance starting to sling it around?
Ty Butler
You get excited.
Peter Rosenberg
You know, you're in business.
Ty Butler
But yeah, man. So with the jets, the expectation for me. Tell me if this is too.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm listening.
Ty Butler
If this is too aggressive.
Peter Rosenberg
Okay.
Ty Butler
Can we get somewhere between, like, seven or eight wins? I think they're all. What team are talking about for the Jets?
Peter Rosenberg
The football. Jets.
Ty Butler
I love how he said the Jets. He says, I'm listening. And then ask me what team I'm talking to.
Peter Rosenberg
You mean. I'm just making sure you know what you're saying.
Ty Butler
The jets, seven or eight wins. Is that too much to ask for?
Peter Rosenberg
To ask for? No, you can ask for whatever you want. Is it too much to realistically think you're going to get seven or eight? I think that's on the better. I think that's on the better end of realistic.
Ty Butler
Do you think Justin Fields still has the ability to reach whatever his ceiling was coming out of college, or do you think that's over?
Peter Rosenberg
Well, I would like to say very clearly and decisively, I am a Fields guy. I believe Fields has a high ceiling. I don't think we've seen what Fields can do. Like, I like. I just like the way he plays. Like, I generally when I watch him, I've always been like, I see something with. With Justin Fields. Can it come from him, though? Here, this is where it gets complicated. Like, I see a Justin Field. If Justin Fields went to San Francisco.
Ty Butler
Or Baltimore, like, or Baltimore, an organization that customarily gets it right, we can.
Peter Rosenberg
Have a conversation about what his ceiling could be going to the jets or the Yets, as you say. That is a different sort of proposition.
Ty Butler
But that's what Aaron Glenn's trying to change. Aaron Glenn is, and I know we overused this word no. He is trying to create a culture that is about winning, that is no nonsense, distractions gone, everything associated with winning. We're about anything that doesn't come close to it, we can, we can get rid of it. And if he is going to reach whatever. Because the fact of the matter is for Justin Fields, this might be his last chance to be a starter in the NFL. Chicago doesn't work out, you can blame the organization, Pittsburgh goes sideways, you can say that's on Tom and whatever. Your third straight, your third chance. If it doesn't go well, I just don't see. And I guess injury create opportunities for him to be a starter, but he came in here and it was almost guaranteed he was going to be the starting quarterback. So this might be the last time he gets that opportunity. And I just hope that what they're building here is able. Is. Is, you know, able to tap into his fullest potential because I want to be excited, man, it gets.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, let me ask you a question, though. Since you're a fan, a real fan of this team, do you think they have enough around Justin Fields to do anything?
Ty Butler
Here is what I would throw back at you. For two straight seasons, the conversation about the jets was what? They're a quarterback away, they're talented, their defense is exceptional, running games intact. They're a quarterback away, which is why they went out and got Aaron Rodgers. So if they're a quarterback away, then that has to mean Justin Fields is in a great position to succeed. And obviously he's not Rogers. But if the question is, does he have enough around him to get this team to seven or eight wins, the answer has to be yes. Because all I've heard the last two years is how talented this team is.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, we've heard that many times how much we've seen that play out.
Ty Butler
But you've corrected the coaching because they. They had the worst coaching. I mean, have you.
Peter Rosenberg
You think you have, you hope you have.
Ty Butler
Well, when you go from the worst coaching situation in football.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, not having a coach any.
Ty Butler
Yes.
Peter Rosenberg
Because post Robert Sala, there was no coach. It was Aaron Rodgers.
Ty Butler
Yes. Anything's an upgrade, right?
Peter Rosenberg
True.
Ty Butler
So you feel like you've gotten better there.
Peter Rosenberg
God, don't you just wish though, you could like, reach out and like grab someone by the shoulder and go like, to Aaron Glenn, I want to beg my man. You've watched football. You know this game better than me. I'm a fan. How old's Aaron Glenn?
Ty Butler
He'd be in his 40s.
Peter Rosenberg
When was he? Late 40s, early 50s. What was his career?
Ty Butler
Well, he was with the jets, obviously.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, thank you, I'm aware. But like, when was that?
Ty Butler
Back in the 90s.
Peter Rosenberg
90S. That's what I was trying to. The math, I was trying to remember because I'm going to be honest guys, in my head I HEAR Aaron Glenn, 53 years old.
Ty Butler
53, okay, July 16th birthday. Make sure you wish him a happy birthday.
Peter Rosenberg
That's right. Happy belated. But don't you wish you could be like, hey, you've been involved in football now for 45 years. Probably you can't tell that this approach is like, comes across weird given the lack of track record. It was the same thing with Joe Judge.
Ty Butler
For him or for the organization?
Peter Rosenberg
No, for you, your own.
Ty Butler
For him.
Peter Rosenberg
Like you can't be a first time head coach and show up to the biggest market without a track record and act like, like for example, Salah. Don't get me wrong, Salah had a little bit of I Mr. Football too, but there was a humbleness about his.
Ty Butler
Approach and there was a playfulness, there.
Peter Rosenberg
Was a humility and a playfulness to Salah that I would say he got the benefit of the doubt. Benefit of the doubt from the city for a while because of his humility. And I'm not saying, I don't know Aaron Glenn, I'm not saying he's a bad guy or anything like that, but the character that he's playing, it's really hard. You're setting a bar. Now the play to match that sort of approach is like an 11 and 6 kind of, kind of vibe. You can't even come out of the gate. 7 and 10, which would be a reasonable hope for the season. You can't be 7 and 10 and give answers like this one to me, we're playing, I can't tell you how, like how much guy's gonna play, you know, fact about how the game goes, but we're playing. Reason, you know, because I want to play. That's the reason it's important at this point for Justin. These guys, I want guys to play. That's the reason that, that, that whole like, I'm not going to give you. It's a reasonable question. Just give her the answer.
Ty Butler
I've always felt like since he got here there was some animosity like toward the media. There was a question someone asked him about. This was before the Rodgers decision was made and they Asked him about the quarterback situation, and I can't remember was this spring camp. I can't remember when it was. But the media. It's a legitimate question, what's happening at quarterback? And his answer was, it's disrespectful to the other 52 guys, 52 other guys in that locker room to only be concerned about the quarterback. And it's like, dog, come on.
Peter Rosenberg
You try to reinvent football right now.
Ty Butler
Serious?
Peter Rosenberg
You think these guys haven't played on teams their whole life? They don't. They don't understand what the importance of.
Ty Butler
The quarterback is the most important position in sports. Like, we're not allowed to ask you about.
Peter Rosenberg
You think that you. Hold on. You think you have linebackers who are like. I don't know. It just, like, feels messed up to me that, like, everyone was talking about the quarterback. Like, does anyone even care about the linebacker room? Like, hello, we're here. I'm the Mike linebacker. Like, can someone talk to me? Like, come on, bro. These are. These are professionals. I don't understand this.
Ty Butler
So that rubbed me the wrong way. I also thought his handling of. Of Aaron, whatever decision you want to make, the way it went down.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, no, it was nasty.
Ty Butler
When Aaron comes in, he leaves the room. Like, it just felt disrespectful.
Peter Rosenberg
No. And the way that they. The whole way they handled Rodgers. And by the way, I think Rogers is a tool.
Ty Butler
So for you to say this, it means something.
Peter Rosenberg
I thought Rogers was such a tool while he was here. And at the same time, their aggressive way of handling that, as if, like, they had a really great option. Like, you so sure that you need to move. They moved on from him so early. They didn't even wait to judge the landscape at all.
Ty Butler
But they also were operating with, like, as if they had been here and had been exposed to. Oh, they were annoying, right?
Peter Rosenberg
You shouldn't even have a problem with this.
Ty Butler
So imagine you go into a meeting or to meet with, you know, your employers, and he just leaves the room. You get there, he leaves the room to get the. I just felt the whole thing was nasty work. As the kids say, nasty work.
Peter Rosenberg

Peter Rosenberg
To the Don Hahn and Rosenberg podcast. I didn't listen to anything you just said. Catch the show on demand whenever you want. Just subscribe to us wherever you get your podcasts. Everyone's having a good old laugh at old Petey's knee, huh?
Ty Butler
Even Paul Heyman yesterday, laughing at the knee. Laughing at the paternity leave. Oh yeah, which you have more of.
Peter Rosenberg
It's crazy taking it too.
Ty Butler
Got a week left of paternity leave.
Peter Rosenberg
I have more than that. I'm taking a week this summer. It's 12 overall. I think I took two. Two and a half off top. I took five in the summer. Seven and a half. I'm gonna take the one at the end. We're up to eight and a half. You know what that means? We still got three and a half.
Ty Butler
But not during football season.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, I would extend probably around Christmas time. That'll be the move, you know? I mean, like, the pad it up a little bit right there on Christmas. Maybe snatch a day here, a day there. Listen, life isn't guaranteed, my guy.
Ty Butler
It's not.
Peter Rosenberg
You know what I'm saying? I feel you like the idea. This was honestly my thought on paternity leave when I. When I saw Michael and Don roll their collective eyes at me for taking time off.
Ty Butler
Figuratively or like, literally both at all of it.
Peter Rosenberg
If I had stayed through July, and God forbid, a month from now, I'm just walking. And like the roadrunner, a truck just comes and takes me out. Right? Coyote is the one that gets hit by the truck. Great point by you. Like the Wile E. Coyote, I just get taken out by a truck. In that moment when it's all flashing before my eyes, you're going to ask.
Ty Butler
Yourself, do you think.
Peter Rosenberg
Do you think when the great highlights are playing through my life, you think one of those highlights would be July 8, me, Don, and Allen screaming about how Juan Soto had another bad performance? No, it's not making the greatest hits of life. However, I had multiple moments over the last month with my baby that would hit the absolute highlight reel of my life. You see what I'm saying, Todd? I'm dropping gems.
Ty Butler
I get it. Like, Juanito gems. Which includes, by the way, something I learned this morning.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, go ahead.
Ty Butler
On the way back, shout out to Maya, throwing up all over you, Natalie, and the person next to you. And instead. Instead of, like, alerting this person and apologizing, which a normal human being would.
Peter Rosenberg
Do, I thought about it.
Ty Butler
You guys decided, eh, no big deal. Stuff happens.
Peter Rosenberg
By the way, that was. That was my wife. I want to blame Natalie completely. I was about to tell him, yo, my man, you do have a little puke on your leg. And as I went to tell him, she grabbed me. Was like, shh, don't say anything.
Ty Butler
I don't understand the logic.
Peter Rosenberg
She was embarrassed, I think, and she thought he already knew. She was like. She said she saw him see it, and he was pretending to not notice. So just let him have his I'm cool, I don't have vomit on me moment. As opposed to us, you know, like, maybe once he made a decision to not wipe it up. Now he's downplaying it. Like, it's all good. You know what I'm saying?
Don Hahn
Yeah.
Ty Butler
I don't buy. I still think that you're just always.
Peter Rosenberg
Looking to make me a bad guy. Just like yesterday, when you never told me, you made a decision not to tell me it was Anthony's birthday. And I say, who's the bad guy? Me for not wishing Anthony happy birthday, or Ty, who let me spend the day even at night, didn't think to text me. By the way, he called me in off hours. Ty called me at night last night and he still didn't say, yo, by the way, I was, I was messing around. You should hit up Anthony. It's actually his birthday. Didn't do it. So I asked you, who's the bad guy, me or Ty? Josh in Westchester.
Don Hahn
Hey guys, thanks for taking my call. It's actually kind of timely because, like Anthony, I really don't play into it, but today is actually my birthday.
Ty Butler
Well, happy birthday.
Peter Rosenberg
Happy birthday.
Don Hahn
Thank you, thank you. Now I'm gonna say, Rosenberg, I love.
Peter Rosenberg
You, but you're 100% in the wrong.
Don Hahn
Here because yeah, Ty's a bad guy for not bringing it up to you. But Ty also said that he didn't wish Anthony a happy birthday yesterday because he forgot. So if that's true, then we kind of have. It's kind of a wash on. Ty. You're a bad guy because you brought it to the air complaining that Anthony didn't wish you a happy birthday. So you can't now forget his birthday.
Ty Butler
And he also works with him every single day. Like I'm a lot like if there's any. Wouldn't you agree, Josh? Like, if we're deciding one of the two of us is allowed to forget to wish Anthony a happy birthday, it would be decidedly me because I'm not working with him every day.
Don Hahn
100%.
Ty Butler
There we go.
Peter Rosenberg
Ty, what time did you find out it was Anthony's birthday yesterday?
Ty Butler
It was like 2:20 something. While we're in the office during the pre show meeting. I saw it on the ESPN New York Twitter account.
Peter Rosenberg
And when I showed up, honestly, you don't think the normal thing would have been to be like during the first break, yo, it's Anthony's birthday. That wouldn't be the normal thing to do.
Ty Butler
I mean, I was. It was such a frenzy. You showed up right before the show. We didn't really get the game plan.
Peter Rosenberg
Jacob, what about you? Why didn't you tell me? Honestly, it slipped my mind and I.
Ty Butler
Had it in my mind on the way to work.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm like, yeah, it's Anthony's birthday. I'll make sure to wish him a.
Ty Butler
Happy birthday when I see him. Then I thought about it, the show happened and Everything. We went into it, then we got into the intern thing. So it kind of slipped my mind during the show.
Peter Rosenberg
But immediately after the show, I hit Anthony. I was like, oh, we gotta bring this tomorrow to air.
Anthony Pusick
I'm like, peter's a bad guy.
Ty Butler
Don't let good deeds get in the way of a great radio bit. I learned that from you.
Peter Rosenberg
I agree with that part. That part I do respect. But it doesn't make you not a bad guy. Let's go to Kadeem. Maybe he'll see things the right way. Hey, Kadeem.
Don Hahn
Peter. Peter, you're a bad guy. You're a bad guy.
Peter Rosenberg
I do not like the start. This is not the start I was looking for.
Don Hahn
Peter, I understand. You know I love you as well. But, like, here's the thing. Like, I'm. I'm upset. Today is Thursday because it should be Friday, because you're a fraud. Because the reason you're a fraud is because if you're gonna go, as the Paul before me just said, and talk about how, you know the person that hurts you the most is Anthony, wouldn't you think? Then the next course of action for you, if I'm you in that situation, I'm like, all right, at 12 o' clock on the button. At midnight, I am texting this man, Anthony Pusick, and make him feel even worse to show like, hey, bud, I love you. Even though you did me wrong, I'm still here for you. Instead. You have the audacity, the unmitigated gall to try to blame Ty when he's really just a genius and exposing you on the air. I'm sorry, Peter. You're a fraud.
Ty Butler
That is an all time great radio phone call.
Peter Rosenberg
Wow.
Ty Butler
All time great.
Peter Rosenberg
That was a good call. And really, I will push back on one thing. I think at worst it was mitigated goal, not unmitigated. I don't think the goal was the.
Ty Butler
Worst part to happen to you. Because this reminds me of like a court case when we start to see the evidence. And then there's that one moment you're like, man, is when you came on and said, anthony not remembering is like the worst one of them all. That's what really does you in.
Peter Rosenberg
But by the way, no. Can I.
Ty Butler
He's so perfect.
Peter Rosenberg
Can I explain why? You're dead wrong about that? Anthony hurt the most because Anthony is responsible. He pays attention, he's kind, and he cares about all things related to the show. I don't ever claim to be that. No part of me, no one would say I care about anyone. No one would say I'm kind to everyone. No one would ever accuse me of any of those things. I am just showing up and yakking about whatever.
Ty Butler
But you're looking at this Anthony, Anthony, literally.
Peter Rosenberg
Anthony's the guy who goes out and gets the cakes for people's birthday. It's like, it's who he. And yet for me, I don't expect him to send an ice cream, a Fudgy the Whale to my house. It didn't make it, but I but a text.
Ty Butler
But see, this is where you're being too literal. I think what the caller outlined, which is what I said earlier, when, when you take exception to Anthony, of all people, not texting you, what can't happen two days later is you forget his birthday. Like that. Like that can't happen.
Peter Rosenberg
It's tough, you know, it's tough.
Ty Butler
It's tough to recover from that.
Peter Rosenberg
But we're gonna push through. What else can I do? 1-800-919-3776 Moose in Jamaica wants to talk some jets change the subject. I agree. Moose, what do you got?
Don Hahn
What's good, fellas?
Peter Rosenberg
How are we?
Don Hahn
Good afternoon.
Ty Butler
What's up, baby?
Don Hahn
Chilling, chilling. So, yeah, to comment quickly about the birthday thing, I. I don't care about my own birthday, so I'll stay out of it. But when it comes to the Jets, I learned Said Nyland called Barton calling last week and he has way more knowledge about football. He's been watching football longer than I've been alive and he says he's looking for the jets to run play action deep to intermediate shots on first down so that they can post the safety back so they can establish the run, maybe do that 25% of the time on first down so they can run down people's necks. Now that goes into what you're saying about the positive end of how the jets can win seven to nine games. If Justin Fields can complete at least 50% of his passes on third down conversions and convert them, and maybe 25% of the time take those intermediate to deep shots on first down and they can establish the run, it's totally feasible. This is from a Giants fan who hopes we can win six games, it's totally feasible those two things could happen on first down. And so now the jets can win.
Ty Butler
Moose, that is. That is music to my ears. But the question is about his accuracy. So it sounds great. The game plan and how you execute that game plan. What it comes down to though is can this dude be accurate? Can he be Accurate consistently.
Don Hahn
They have the preseason to try it. He has his college wide receiver, and they could possibly trade for Olave mid season or even just before the season to get more camaraderie and really get him sensible, where he's no longer thinking about being accurate. It's more natural to him and his progression. He can more or less try to hit or maybe even hit his ceiling, and the jets can be a winner. But these are hopeful optimistic wishes from a non jets fan. But at the same time, what else can you hope for? You're a Jets fan. Thanks for taking my call.
Ty Butler
Little shot at the end. It's all good, though.
Peter Rosenberg
What are you supposed to do? People can't help the shots of the Jets.
Ty Butler
Is he actually calling from Jamaica, Queens? Oh, I thought. Why did I think. Actually, Jamaica?
Peter Rosenberg
You're. You're from Queens.
Ty Butler
I'm not from Queens, first of all.
Peter Rosenberg
Don't you live in Queens?
Ty Butler
I live in Queens, but I'm from Brooklyn.
Peter Rosenberg
All right, but you. Now, how long you been in Queens?
Ty Butler
I've been in Queens for, like, almost eight, nine years now.
Peter Rosenberg
And you. And yet. But you've been in Queens for eight or nine years. And when someone says Jamaica on a New York radio station on the phone and they don't have a Jamaican, like, maybe if he was like, wait, only.
Ty Butler
People who have a Jamaican accent.
Peter Rosenberg
No, but if he called up and I said, hey, Moose, from Jamaica. And he was like, wagwan Mayu. And then I'd go, okay, you have a right to think he could be from Jamaica. But he's like, hey, it's me, Moose, in Jamaica. You know, it's Jamaica, Queens.
Ty Butler
I thought it was Jamaica. I didn't. I didn't. I didn't think we were calling from Queens.
Peter Rosenberg
Really. That's. I find that very surprising. I do, too, because what. Right.
Ty Butler
We get calls from all over the world.
Peter Rosenberg
We do. We do. We do.
Ty Butler
We do.
Peter Rosenberg
And you can be a part of those calls at 1-800-919-3776. By the way, I just sent down one of the interns on his last day to get food for me.
Ty Butler
Wow. So you're really Colin?
Peter Rosenberg
My boy. My guy.
Ty Butler
You didn't even know his name.
Peter Rosenberg
How dare you. I would just.
Ty Butler
Your boy didn't even know his name.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, hold on. Anthony, do you say that on the air? Just in my ear. I don't know what you're talking about. Oh, well, in that case, I don't know why he said that. Let's see what Jose wants to say in the Heights. Hey, Jose.
Don Hahn
What's going on? Peter, what's going on?
Ty Butler
Tyler was good.
Peter Rosenberg
What's up, buddy? Everything go, bro. Peter, I love you, man. Everyone keeps starting that way.
Don Hahn
You're missed when you're now under on.
Peter Rosenberg
98 set on sorry on ESPN radio, but you're a total fraud, my friend. Huh?
Don Hahn
If it was a rapper or wrestler, you will give them a Instagram shout out.
Ty Butler
That's facts, bro. Yeah. If that was violence, really, that. That pick would have gone up asap.
Peter Rosenberg
That's. By the way, this is real quick. This is not based on facts. This is not based on what you're saying is not based on facts. If you were to go look at my profile right now, go find the last birthday famous picture birthday post I put up.
Ty Butler
This is.
Peter Rosenberg
This is what you're saying is not based on facts.
Ty Butler
Let that be. Baby Keem. Birthday just passed.
Peter Rosenberg
You say you Baby Keem.
Ty Butler
All right.
Peter Rosenberg
I barely can name a song by Baby Keem.
Ty Butler
That picture is going up asap.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't have a picture with Baby Keem. Impossible. Where did Colin go with my food?
Ty Butler
He went downstairs to go get it.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, but where is he? He's not back yet.
Ty Butler
So you're complaining about how long it takes. He's doing you a favor, so.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm not complaining. I just want to know where it is. Also, I've been having issues with deliveries these days. People are accidentally dropping things off here, they're dropping things off there. Let me make sure I'm not just gonna walk in. I want to make sure that they did everything right.
Ty Butler
He's respectful. And you know what would have been great for you to do? Colin, because he destroyed the entire intern, like, community yesterday. Yep. It's your last day.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ty Butler
You know, you could take that food and never show up again. He. And he'd never see you. And you have no reason, no way to make up for it.
Anthony Pusick

Are you feeling more fulfilled now that you're back to work on August 15th?
Ty Butler
No. I need a vacation.
Peter Rosenberg
See the movie that critics are saying is an awesome. Look at that crowd pleasing, fist pumping, all out brawl of a film.
Ty Butler
You're right about that.
Peter Rosenberg
They're coming after our family. Go fix this. Oh my. Nobody 2, rated R. Holding in theaters August 15th.
Ty Butler

Yeah, but guess what? You know why he'd look nuts doing that. Anthony, can you come in here for a second? I'm gonna tell you why he'd look nuts doing that.
Ty Butler
Anthony has to actually come into the studio.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes.
Ty Butler
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
I'd like Anthony to come in the studio and help so we can say Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dearest Anthony Pusick, my good boy. Happy birthday. Thank you, Colin, for grabbing it to you ao paws. Now, by the way, by the way, this is no. This is no Fudgy the Whale. Turn on your microphone over there. Can you turn on Anthony's microphone over there?
Ty Butler
You've been working here long enough. You know how this goes. I also know it's not up on the board.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, it's not up on the board.
Ty Butler
What about this one hitting me with the sash? Come up to this one about your birthday. That's the real thing, by the way.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, this is. This is the real dude. These are magnolia cupcakes. I appreciate it. We're gonna treat you like a Jedi, by the way.
Ty Butler
I didn't need it, but I Appreciate it.
Peter Rosenberg
No, you're gonna do it. And by the way. And guess what? You can share it with the deadbeat interns on their way out the door. Not you, Colin. No, not you, Colin. Not Colin. Because it's Connor. No Connor. By the way, you said Colin. I swear to God you just said Colin. Hold on. I just want you to be clear. Your hero, the hero of interns. When I said, did the intern go down there? He went. His name's Colin.
Ty Butler
But then you said my boy Colin.
Peter Rosenberg
But I said my boy Colin. Wait, hold on. Connor, you don't. You have to. I know you're learning radio, but into the microphone. All the other interns left already. No, they didn't.
Ty Butler
Yeah, first one and last one out.
Peter Rosenberg
But. But no, no. These cupcakes are for Anthony. That's right. But hold on. Did. Did all the interns really leave? Yeah, when we're done we're technically supposed to. But did they walked out and leave? Yeah, but didn't you hear me when I went and talked to everyone and I said I'm going to be getting cupcakes. Everyone has a life and nice things to do. See, this is what.
Ty Butler
No, but back me up. It has less.
Peter Rosenberg
If you are going to side with that statement, you make a decision right now. Ty, he just said I. No, no, wait. No, no. I'm going to defend my fellow interns here. Hold on, let me set this up for yesterday. I walked outside. Colin, Connor, I'm gonna give you a chance to defend your friends. I just went into the room, okay. And I said before you guys, I said, what time do you leave? They said, we're done at three, but we're waiting cuz the bosses are in a meeting. I said, okay, just so you know, it's Anthony's birthday. We're gonna sing Happy Birthday, I have some cupcakes coming and we can celebrate you guys too. And now Connor telling me that after hearing that, everyone said, I'm all. I'm all set.
Ty Butler
I'm all set. After the guy who destroyed me yesterday is now trying to do a good work.
Peter Rosenberg
Not for me. It's for Anthony's birthday. I literally. Did I not say the pitch as I want everyone here to sing to Anthony on his birthday. You did. That is. That is very fair. You did say that. That.
Ty Butler
So what happened? What happened?
Peter Rosenberg
So what happened? But you're saying this. Yeah, like we haven't been here for eight weeks and this is the first time we're meeting you. What do you mean? We know you're on Paternity leave. But they're all like, we got to meet him. That's. That's great. But it's like, you've been dodging us for a month and a half.
Ty Butler
Oh. So I just want to disrespect it.
Peter Rosenberg
I want the phone lines to be flooded. If you people out there aren't gutless, you will call up and say everything Rosenberg said was right. This generation is failing us as a nation.
Ty Butler
As a nation.
Peter Rosenberg
I would. I just. I ty. Are you still not with me? Are you still gonna play this card on the radio? You're not disgusting.
Ty Butler
Here's what I will say here. Here's why.
Peter Rosenberg
Why do you guys make me the villain? I'm telling the truth. I'm trying to kick the truth to the young you.
Ty Butler
He's the villain. Because what you did yesterday was disrespect. But for Anthony, who's been super nice to you guys the entire time, King of interns. To just like, yeah, we're good on Anthony's birthday.
Peter Rosenberg
Thing is, unlike Peter, we all remembered it was his birthday yesterday and wishes happy birthday yesterday, you guys. And these are interns individually. Said goodbye to him.
Ty Butler
Good for.
Peter Rosenberg
These are intern.
Ty Butler
Are you.
Peter Rosenberg
Jacob. Jacob. They're only. You're the only person I can depend on. What are your thoughts to this Jacob?
Ty Butler
Wait, when he says these are interns. More. More him being condescending.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes.
Ty Butler
Looking down on them.
Peter Rosenberg
But. But, Jacob. What? Here's. No, no, here's the. Here's the thing, though. Here's the thing with you. I agree with your statement about us getting paid and about the idea of, like, you know, I think we absolutely should be, you know, going and getting. Moving people's cars, getting lunch, whatever it is. I agree with that. You just did it. You went and got the birthday cake. However, because you haven't been here for the entire summer, you haven't seen the fact that all five of us have offered all of the hosts, Carlin, Bart, DPH and Rothenberg, your two co hosts, Don and Ellen, to go get them food. To go have them.
Ty Butler
Yes, you would know this conversation with them.
Peter Rosenberg
Not only that, but everyone in the office as well. We've been talking to everyone and saying, hey, what can we do? How can we help out on the side? So we haven't been just, you know, slacking off, sitting at that table. By the way. By the way, here's the problem fundamentally with what Colin. Conor over here is doing. Colin works at this point, it's fine. Is that if I were. If you're here for eight weeks.
Ty Butler
Connor should be throwing gallivanting out Paris.
Peter Rosenberg
Conor is the one who stayed. Connor is the one who went and got the cupcakes. Of course. But. And what happened? And real quick, Conor, what happened as a result of you doing that? I'm standing on air right now talking to you. But. But I'm not gonna let my fellow interns get dragged. Well, guess what? You should. Because they're gonna hold you back and ruin life. These are the. These are the people who hold you back, Jacob. Admit it. You're disgusted that after that whole conversation everyone just walked out, aren't you? It's a bit surprising, you know, it's not four o' clock yet. I would say. No, no, but according to Colin, they. The interns, they have a life. I guess we don't tie.
Ty Butler
They're done at three, right?
Peter Rosenberg
Technically. Go do what?
Ty Butler
You know what this is?
Peter Rosenberg
Guess what? This is a process. I would have missed and shined his shoes.
Ty Butler
He's doing that 20 years.
Peter Rosenberg
I would have cleaned out his belly button back in my day.
Ty Butler
Like we're doing the back in my day thing. The problem is they're protesting you at this point. They're protesting you. It's a protest.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, guess what? Their protests. The only person hurt by the protest was Anthony because Anthony should have had a better singing situation. Instead it was me and Ty trying our best. But it didn't hit the way it should have. Jacob. It didn't hit the way it should have. I thought we'd have. I thought when you were here. In all honesty, now this part, I'm actually being serious. Okay? I'm not. I'm not offended, I'm not angry. I don't care. I honest to God thought though, considering I asked. Hold on, Ty, real quick when I asked them. You guys should stick around because we're gonna do something. Anthony's birthday. It was the last break. This wasn't yesterday. This wasn't three hours ago. It was the last. I got the food before the next commercial break. Connor. That's why I alerted you quickly so you could like hustle and get it quick. He goes down there, by the time he gets back, they're already on the express train.
Ty Butler
How, how, How? The only person hurt by this is Anthony.
Peter Rosenberg
It's not right.
Ty Butler
Bad Anthony doesn't give a damn.
Peter Rosenberg
Birthday yesterday and he didn't give a damn that. No, he doesn't. He doesn't. He hates himself and he's got serious problems. But you saw what he did. He made sure he took that banana pudding with him when he left the studio. He left the cupcakes, but he left the. Because that. The last time we did Magnolia here, I think it was John. Someone went and did magnolia and they got a bunch of stuff and no banana pudding. You have to get. If you're getting Magnolia, you have to get the banana pudding.
Ty Butler
Are you gonna take part, Connor?
Peter Rosenberg
Of course. You're not a cup of cake, right? Of course. Absolutely. Now listen, I do want Cynthia's birthday.
Ty Butler
Wait, quick question, quick question. So after Peter asked him to stay, what did they tell you?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, what did.
Ty Butler
Like, what happened?
Peter Rosenberg
How did that play out? Have a seat, have a seat. Look what he's getting now. Now he's got a seat on the show. He's an Alex chair.
Ty Butler
Afternoon drag co host.
Peter Rosenberg
No, see, here's the thing, though, because I'm not gonna drag them through the mud because tell us what happened. We're not asking to drag. So here's the thing. So we were supposed to be done at three. That's what time this internship ends, right? We end at 3 o'. Clock.
Ty Butler
We're just asking one specific question.
Peter Rosenberg
What happened, though, after I walked away? After you walked away, the marketing meeting let out. Everyone that we didn't get a chance to say goodbye to walked out. We said goodbye, said goodbye to each other. And everyone went there.
Ty Butler
No one acknowledged.
Peter Rosenberg
No one said, well, what about the thing Rosenberg said about the birthday? Because I. I went over there and I was clearly being serious. I wasn't joking.
Ty Butler
And they all looked at you and saw that.
Peter Rosenberg
And by the way, some of the other interns were like, I gotta tell you, Peter, I agreed with everything you said yesterday. That was said to me right over there. I agree. And then they walked out the door proving every point that I made about this fraudulent generation. But guess what, Connor? The last laugh is on them. And you get to celebrate now and sit with us and enjoy and luxuriate over some magnolia cupcakes. Beautiful cupcakes, might I add. Beautiful. Great job, Connor. The one intern I officially recognize. We get to celebrate. Anthony, happy birthday. We love you. I'm sorry, I didn't know it was your birthday yesterday. I maintain that Ty is a bad guy. Jake also, I'd like to say, is a bad guy. The man who didn't put up the post for my birthday. But he got Anthony's up there. He should have told me. At least someone should have helped me out. Somebody coach me up.
Ty Butler
Listen, the white man makes mistakes. He's gonna blame the black guys. How about that.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, Jake. Not Jacob.
Ty Butler
You said Jake.
Peter Rosenberg
I meant Jake Montgomery. Jake Montgomery. No, he's definitively. No, that's Jacob.
Ty Butler
He said Jake.
Peter Rosenberg
Jacob. Did you think I meant you?
Ty Butler
But you.
Peter Rosenberg
No, no. You said Jake though, and looked at me. That's why. But you knew what I meant, right? Once you said social media posts, I was like, by the way, again, just for proof of how bad a guy Ty is, the opportunity, if he gets a chance to try to throw me under the bus on some racist moment, he will, knowing I meant Jake Montgomery, who is whiter than the back of this piece of paper.
Ty Butler
Also, didn't he blame you last segment?
Peter Rosenberg
Well, no, it's partially on Jacob. Okay, but that's a different guy than Jake.
Ty Butler
You also blamed him.
Peter Rosenberg
Anyways, we'll, we'll continue this next. I'm disgusted. I'm upset. And we'll talk to you at 1-800-919-3776. Great job, Colin. Happy birthday to him. I don't care. Good luck. You know, we've been talking about defense a bunch this baseball season. A good defense is important for your business.
Ty Butler
Also.

Episode: Hour 1: Jets Expectations
Release Date: August 7, 2025
Hosts: Don Hahn, Alan Hahn, Peter Rosenberg
The episode delves into a heated disagreement among the hosts regarding the oversight of Anthony Pusick’s birthday. The tension arises when Peter Rosenberg accuses Ty Butler of not acknowledging Anthony’s special day, leading to a series of confrontations.
Peter Rosenberg expresses his frustration:
"By the way, it's one of the best points you've ever made, so that much is clear. I got to tell you, though, and we're going to have a fun day today. It's Don Hahn and Rosenberg Alan just expressed theoretical arousal about the Dolly Parton puppet."
(00:24)
The conflict intensifies as Peter confronts Ty about not wishing Anthony a happy birthday:
Peter Rosenberg: "Who is the guy that you said it hurt the most that he didn't reach out to you?"
Ty Butler: "Anthony. Yeah, I wouldn't say jealous."
(04:14 - 04:30)
The argument escalates with personal accusations:
Peter Rosenberg: "Am I supposed to feel guilty or am I supposed to feel disrespected that Anthony got a birthday post?"
(04:50)
Ty Butler: "You make a decision right now. Ty, he just said I. No, no..."
(53:17)
Don Hahn eventually joins the fray, adding his perspective:
Don Hahn: "Hey guys, thanks for taking my call. It's actually kind of timely because, like Anthony, I really don't play into it, but today is actually my birthday."
(31:14)
The segment concludes with a pseudo-call from Anthony Pusick, further intensifying the mock dispute and highlighting the comedic tension among the hosts.
Shifting focus to sports, the hosts engage in an in-depth discussion about the New York Jets’ upcoming season, analyzing team strategies, player performances, and overall expectations.
Ty Butler sets the stage:
"With the Jets, the expectation for me. Tell me if this is too aggressive. Can we get somewhere between, like, seven or eight wins?"
(14:24)
Peter Rosenberg shares his admiration for quarterback Justin Fields:
"I am a Fields guy. I believe Fields has a high ceiling. I don't think we've seen what Fields can do."
(15:01)
The conversation touches on coaching changes and their impact:
Ty Butler: "Aaron Glenn is trying to create a culture that is about winning, that is no nonsense, distractions gone, everything associated with winning."
(16:01)
Don Hahn offers tactical insights based on a caller's analysis:
Don Hahn: "He says he's looking for the Jets to run play action deep to intermediate shots on first down so that they can post the safety back so they can establish the run."
(36:30)
The hosts debate the effectiveness of the Jets' offensive strategies and Justin Fields' potential:
Ty Butler: "Can this dude be accurate? Can he be accurate consistently."
(37:58)
Peter Rosenberg: "It's a good question."
(12:40)
Don Hahn emphasizes the importance of quarterback accuracy and potential mid-season trades:
Don Hahn: "They have the preseason to try it. He has his college wide receiver, and they could possibly trade for Olave mid-season or even just before the season to get more camaraderie and really get him sensible."
(37:58 - 38:31)
The analysis concludes with a hopeful outlook on the Jets' prospects, contingent on strategic decisions and player performances.
Beyond the primary discussions, the episode is peppered with humorous anecdotes and interactions among the hosts, showcasing their chemistry and camaraderie.
Peter Rosenberg shares a personal story about his paternity leave:
"I think I took two. Two and a half off top. I took five in the summer. Seven and a half. I'm gonna take the one at the end."
(28:32)
The hosts joke about everyday mishaps and office dynamics:
Ty Butler: "Here's why you'd make me the villain."
(53:17)
Light-hearted banter about interns and workplace scenarios adds a comedic layer to the episode:
Peter Rosenberg: "I've been enjoying the hell out of this week. I'm misking it. These are the people who hold you back and ruin life."
(48:02 - 49:02)
These interactions not only provide entertainment but also offer listeners a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes dynamics of the podcast.
The episode wraps up with a reaffirmation of the internal conflicts while maintaining a humorous undertone. The hosts tease future discussions and encourage audience interaction:
Peter Rosenberg vows to make amends regarding the missed birthday:
"I'm gonna make up for this before the show is over. This will be made up for, believe you me."
(09:21)
The hosts invite listeners to participate and share their opinions:
Peter Rosenberg: "I ask you guys to call and tell us where you land."
(09:42)
The episode concludes on a playful note, leaving the door open for continued discussions and engaging content in future episodes.
Peter Rosenberg: "By the way, it's one of the best points you've ever made..."
(00:24)
Peter Rosenberg: "Who is the guy that you said it hurt the most that he didn't reach out to you?"
(04:14)
Don Hahn: "Today is Thursday because it should be Friday, because you're a fraud."
(31:50)
Ty Butler: "The biggest problem about our country is the lack of accountability."
(06:37)
Don Hahn: "What's good, fellas?"
(36:28)
Peter Rosenberg: "Happy birthday, Anthony. Happy belated birthday."
(09:42)
