Peter Rosenberg
Don.
Ty Butler
Sauce was everywhere. And Rosenberg, if you want to stay up, he's got the energy that matters. This isn't North Dakota, this is New York.
Peter Rosenberg
This is Don Han and Rosenberg John Frenchie Fuqua on 8 80, ESPN and the ESPN New York app.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Listen. This was supposed to be a show hosted by both Peter Rosenberg and Ty Butler. Here's all I know. Peter had the doctor's appointment this 11:30. Haven't heard from him since. He's going AWOL. We know he's dealing with the knee injury. We can't find him. Bunch of phone calls. John's calling him, Anthony's calling him. I'm texting him. We just can't find him. So I don't know what's going on. Here's what I do know. We're on the air until 7 o' clock tonight. 800-919-3776. The Mets right now being no hit at home in Citi Field. The Yankees just underway. But there's an APB out for my man Rosenberg. That knee injury might have gotten him that knee. Oh, wait.
Ty Butler
Hello? Hey, I'm here. Wait, I made it.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Do we have the breaking news? Sounder.
Ty Butler
Oh, I'm alive.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You know what's perfect about this? This is like a WWE bit and it's amazing that it happens today.
Ty Butler
Of all days.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Of all days, it happens today.
Ty Butler
I'm going to take my brace off like Seth Rollins.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Just start running to the R. I haven't.
Ty Butler
I have. This is the first time I've taken the brace off.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Wait, so how you. I know we got to get to the sports, but how you feeling, man?
Ty Butler
I went in. I just want to thank my, my doctor, Dr. Ty Butler, who knew meniscus from the very beginning.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I called it.
Ty Butler
Now it's not confirmed because I haven't got an MRI yet, but we're trending there very much. Trending because they did like the, you know, she, the doctor, she wasn't a doctor. Whatever, whatever. Role this person's title is. She wasn't a nurse. I don't know what the hell she is. But she was very lovely. And she. I guess she was an orthopedist situation. I don't know.
Anthony
Did you go to a place that.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Would make her a doctor?
Ty Butler
It was called Orchids of Asia. I don't know. It felt really nice.
Anthony
Different thing.
Ty Butler
And when she. When she was, like, grabbing the leg and, like, saying, how's this feel? What about this? What about that? I'm here to report. And you can. You can give this to Alex. Fuse all the people at ESPN to release this information. No problems. The acl, mcl, and LCL are perfectly intact.
John Frenchie Fuqua
There we go, baby.
Ty Butler
It's a big bit of news now.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Because anytime, and I'll give you credit for this, but anytime you are monitoring the injury of, like, one of your favorite players on your favorite team, once that tweet comes out and it says what you just said, no, no, no.
Ty Butler
Structural damage to the eight, it means, you know, you're talking about just a meniscus situation.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Probably day to day, week to week, still uncertain.
Ty Butler
I'm out for this weekend for sure.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Okay.
Ty Butler
But, like, let me put it this way. If I have a big game next Sunday, I feel like we're having a conversation about. We'll see where he's at.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But if game seven were played on Sunday, you're out.
Ty Butler
What sport? It's no longer football because you went seven.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Game seven. It's the NBA finals.
Ty Butler
NBA finals.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Come on. You know me.
Ty Butler
Truthfully, if we're being completely real, my guess would be it would be you get a shot and play situation.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You get. Okay, you get a shot.
Ty Butler
This is pain. This is just like, pain. I don't. I don't. She didn't. She felt like she. She felt a tiny bit. She said there is a tiny bit of bruising around, a little bit of puffiness, if you will. Swelling. Tiny bit inside the knee. Not enough. I think that, like, we're thinking it's a tear, but what I didn't realize is if you tear the meniscus, it's a wrap. Your meniscus is either hurt and you can rehab and it gets better, or it's torn and you move on. Like, there's no. There's no repairing the meniscus as an adult. She said it's a wrap for the meniscus if it's torn as an adult. So I. I don't even know if I'm gonna get in the tube. I scheduled an Appointment?
John Frenchie Fuqua
I think you should.
Ty Butler
But if I get better, do I need to get in the tube?
John Frenchie Fuqua
No, you want all the answers so.
Ty Butler
I can move on with my career.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah, just so. Just so you have like that, you know, I become fulfilled when I get all the answers. That's the kind of guy you like that.
Ty Butler
You like that.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I like that.
Ty Butler
Information helps.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yes.
Ty Butler
All right, well, listen, the good news is I got a brace. The dude who called yesterday and was like, yo, Peter, here's the drugs they're gonna give you. They help a lot. I got that.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Okay, so great shape.
Ty Butler
So we got the drugs, got the.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Brace, and we're good.
Ty Butler
Got the Mr. I Got the physical therapy recommendations. We're gonna, we're gonna get.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You have to do the physical therapy.
Ty Butler
Oh, I am, I am definitely doing it. I'm definitely doing it.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Now. I will say this. So I took the training today and I did like at some point consider as I'm walking up the train steps, once I got to seven steps left, I considered trying to hop up, but decided against it.
Ty Butler
You guys wanted something crazy too. Do you remember the controversy I had the other day? Cuz my food had said delivered and I didn't get food.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I don't think that made it to air.
Ty Butler
It didn't, but I told you guys yes, because here they have a very strict we call you policy. We won't hold your food. It's like every delivery they get could be some sort of terrorist attack in this building. They will not take the responsibility. Cuz you know how much easier it would be if they would just be like, yeah, it's a delivery. And they, they would say, who's it for? They'd say, peter Rosenberg on the fifth floor. They would take the food and go, cool, sit it down. And then you get it. When you get it. I'm not even asking them to deliver it. Just sit it on the desk right there so I can. They don't do that. So when my food said delivered the other day and it wasn't here, I had to cancel it. You heard me on the phone with Seamless.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah, you were very agitated.
Ty Butler
Happened again today. Delivered. I asked the guys downstairs, I go, guys, for the second time, it's saying my food was delivered here. Is that possible? No, I said, are you sure? Is there any place it could be? He went, unless they dropped it in the loading dock. I said, can you take a take a peek?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Food was at the loading dock, sitting.
Ty Butler
In the loading dock. Wow. So that means some random vagrant wandered by the loading dock the other day and had my delicious juice press as well. So anyways, a lot of controversies happened.
John Frenchie Fuqua
That was a very inauspicious beginning to like, you're welcome back. That was a loaded day for you.
Ty Butler
Everything that happened Monday was bad.
John Frenchie Fuqua
It was crazy.
Ty Butler
It was everything Monday was. We're only on 1050 in the apparatus. It was ass. Everything about it was pure, unadulterated ass. It was not great.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But since then, things have gone better.
Ty Butler
Things have gone better. The pain hasn't gotten worse. I was able to get an appointment. I have a brace. I can move around a little bit. If I found out that WWE is now in business with espn.
John Frenchie Fuqua
No one happier than you because for all the people in your mentions, mad, listen, no one wants to hear about your WWE script that fit now you have it. You literally have a license to talk about it.
Ty Butler
It really is going to be bad news for the people who hate me when I mention it. Like why you're on ESPN. Why would you ever mention WWE? Well, $325 million a year says. I think I could bring it up here and there.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah, I mean, so I don't want to get the number incorrect, but. SummerSlam between the two nights, 118,000 fans. I saw Triple H was on either get up or First Take today talking about it. But the combo of the two nights, 118,000 fans, your sport is trending up. This is. This is. I thought about you immediately when I saw this.
Ty Butler
You know what this is?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Peter Rosenberg.
Ty Butler
I hope it feels like it could be very good news for your boy who's been sitting at sort of the crossroads of both of these things for a long time. Where's this Roman Reigns audio from Jacob? He was on First Take. Also Triple H and Roman Reigns.
Anthony
I guess you weren't in the know on this one.
Ty Butler
Yeah, why didn't I get the call for First Take today though?
Anthony
Well, I told them, they texted me. They said, we'd love to have Peter. I said, very important, medical emergency.
Ty Butler
I'm sending a text right now.
Anthony
I hope you understand.
Ty Butler
Who else. Wait, tell me. This is very important. Who were the regular non Steven Ayers on First Take today?
Anthony
Sid Luckman.
Ty Butler
Okay.
Anthony
Benny Agbayani.
Ty Butler
Oh, Agbayani was on. You don't know? No one knows. Let's hear. This is Roman Reigns on the new ESPN WWE deal.
Roman Reigns
It's almost like the news cycle in itself. It just. It's always something new for us. It seems to always be bigger and better. You know, I think Nick Khan has done a great job. Paul Levesque has done a great job of leading us.
Ty Butler
Interesting pronunciation.
Roman Reigns
We just keep leveling up, and this is no different.
Ty Butler
What does it mean for the fans.
Jacob
Of the WWE in your estimation?
Roman Reigns
I think it's a chance to continue to grow. I mean, anytime you can team up with a platform like espn, I mean, you guys are the, you know, sports media leaders. Nobody does it better than you guys. So to help us tell these stories, to help us reach and have as much attention, it's an obvious partnership. So it's huge for our fan base. Anytime we can grow, you know, our art form, our, you know, form of sports and entertainment, it's always going to benefit our fans.
Ty Butler
I just. After all this time, he just pronounced Triple H's name Levesque. Roman didn't get the note. It's Paul Levesque.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You know what I just thought about, and I'm shocked. This never came up in the meeting. Okay, this is so obvious. It's so obvious. Who's getting a celebrity match at one of these WWE events?
Ty Butler
Stephen A. Oh, Stephen A. Is going to end up in something.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Stephen A. Is going to end up.
Ty Butler
Because he's been saying it for a long time. Stephen A Has been saying he wants to be a part of. I love that he says it, too. He's always like, how can I? I want to manage. Someone needs to. I need to manage. And I'm like, stephen, if you literally just said, hey, I'm serious, I want to do that, they would say, well.
John Frenchie Fuqua
He said it on first take. I feel like there's room between him and Paul Heyman. Like, he's. He's got the opportunity to manage, but he's gonna end up in the ring somehow.
Ty Butler
No, he's act.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I mean, he's acting on General Hospital.
Ty Butler
Stephen A. Is not gonna end up in the ring.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Oh, we could put money on this, man. We could put some serious bread.
Ty Butler
What do you think, Jacob? I don't. There's a chance he would actually, like, take a bump.
Scott Hansen
I don't think he's taking a bump. I think he'll manage probably a superstar to the ring.
John Frenchie Fuqua
All I said is physically, him stepping in the ring is going to happen.
Ty Butler
As a manager, though, or as a.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Wrestler, I don't know in what capacity, but something is going to happen.
Ty Butler
I believe that.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I don't know. I'm not trying to take shots at Stephen A, but after the boxing video, I don't know if he wants to be caught, like, fighting someone, but he will physically be in a. In a WWE video. I'm not trying to.
Ty Butler
Why you bringing up all.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I'm not trying to take shot. I love Steve trying to take shots. That's my guy.
Ty Butler
Anthony, what were you going to say? I felt like you wanted to say something.
Anthony
Steel chair, back of the head to somebody.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I don't know who.
Ty Butler
Stevie, back of the head. I mean, a concerto.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Oh, yeah. Oh, It's a Pat McAfee. No, no, no. Not Pat McAfee. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Ty Butler
Now, that's a grudge match for the ages. The old. Bringing back the old be.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah, take pause. Take us back to the Buried Alive match.
Ty Butler
Stephen A. Stephen a. Burying Pat McAfee alive. Oh, my God. Are you kidding?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Throwing him off the hell in the cell. See, yo, if y' all need me, wwe, I'm here, man.
Ty Butler
That's where you think. You think that the writing you just did.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You think is.
Ty Butler
All right, It's. The phone number is 1-800-919-3776. Not just WWE, by the way. In business with ESPN, this one was not as good a kept secret because the WWE secret was kept incredibly. The other one was out there for sure, and that is NFL Network, Red Zone, et cetera, also to espn. Um, which. It's gonna be interesting to see how that. Truthfully, that's probably the more interesting. What will this mean? Because wwe, we can speculate, it will mostly feel the way the UFC deal feels, like there's a connection. But you can very much sense UFC is its own thing and it's on espn. I think WWE is its own thing, and it'll be on espn.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Hype, pre, like, events.
Ty Butler
Right. But it's not going to be. You know, it won't have a direct impact on every single day. Yeah, I think the NFL Network coming here, though, that. That's a conversation now we're having about Rich Eisen and K. Adams and all the other talent that's over there. And that's. You see what I'm saying?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Adams is no longer at NFL.
Ty Butler
Whatever. You get the idea. Whoever replaced K. Adams, Shea Adams, the.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Tom Pell of the world, Tom Palace.
Ty Butler
No, who did replace K. Is. What's her face doing?
John Frenchie Fuqua
I know Cynthia Freeland's over there and didn't Jamie Erdle.
Ty Butler
Yeah, Jamie Erdle does some. But like all those shows, the Good Morning Footballs of the world, etc. You're right, because now Kay has the deal with FanDuel. She got herself a big old bag paid. Okay, Adams. You might as well call her Pay Adams. Kay Adams is paid.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Listen you bet on yourself. I'm curious as to what this, what this means. Yeah, I'm not gonna be honest. Cause I'm still ignorant to it. I'm still reading articles about. The network still exists.
Ty Butler
Right. So it's gonna be. The NFL Network exists, I'm guessing. Right. But it's owned by espn, so that's just gonna be. There'll be a smoother relationship between. I'm sure they'll keeping their operations in place, but there will be a smooth, you know, people from NFL Network will pop up on SportsCenter and you know, it'll just be working together. But it will, it will create more interesting. I mean, what about my man on Red Zone? He's Gucci.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah. Well, he tweeted out today, Scott Hansen, Scott Hanson. He said, listen, I'm fine, I'm good.
Ty Butler
He said, me and this very interesting look that I've cultivated. We're going to keep going.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Wait, are you saying that like in a negative way, the interesting look?
Ty Butler
No, saying it's notable.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Okay.
Ty Butler
He's a notable looking person.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah. It's official. For those wondering, yes, I will still be hosting Red Zone. So he's, he's Gucci.
Ty Butler
He feels very comfortable with this.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Very comfortable to tweet it out. Good.
Ty Butler
Well, he's good and he earned it. He's been doing that job for a long time.
John Frenchie Fuqua
That's a tough job.
Ty Butler
Tough job. And he does it. He really has like cemented that as his thing. So I'm glad to hear that.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Just Anthony, isn't there like a story about like, he has to prepare for those six hours because he knows he can't use the bathroom. He can't.
Anthony
I believe he's said that no bathroom breaks for him. He's had the story out that he doesn't go to the bathroom during that time.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But that's tough, man.
Anthony
That's a talent.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You think you can do that? Six hours, just NFL highlights. Bang, bang, bang. No bathroom, no eating.
Ty Butler
They don't take a break.
John Frenchie Fuqua
No breaks.
Ty Butler
To me, it's not the bathroom and eating part.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I think you get distracted.
Ty Butler
By the way, as they were having that conversation, I just took a bite of my food. That's the best part. I literally took a bite while you guys were setting up the question. So it's less the food and lack of urination that blows my mind. Although you think, what if the wrong day, like you just can't do anything about it. But it's more the ability to continue talking non stop for six hours by yourself and Never.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I don't feel like I've ever heard him have a hiccup, get someone's name wrong, stutter if that's tough. By the way, Mets three outs away from being. No, wait.
Ty Butler
Also, by the way, this is so stupid. Why can't he go to a bathroom break? They go into the game sometimes and he is not calling the game.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But they don't go into the game for that long.
Ty Butler
But they could. But they can seamlessly transition to another game.
Anthony
I respect that. He doesn't. I like, I think he challenges himself.
Ty Butler
But no, by the way, how about he's lying. He's lying.
John Frenchie Fuqua
We're calling out Scott Hansen.
Anthony
He's a new friend of the, of the entire operation.
Ty Butler
By the way, I, I listen, we.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Might have him on this show.
Ty Butler
I'm sure we will. I hope we do. I, I told you I appreciated what Seth Rollins did the other day when I saw him, and he made me believe he wasn't injured. Scott Hanson has developed a really great storyline of. He's the guy who doesn't do anything except talk for six straight hours. But now I remember I've watched when they go to a game and they're in that game for a good five minutes.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I don't think I've ever seen it.
Ty Butler
No, if they're inside, if they're in the red zone, an important game, I mean, I guess you're right. They most often try to bounce back. You're telling me he's never had a desperate moment, though, where he goes, hey, I'm hitting the head. If you have to switch games, switch games. I'll be right back.
John Frenchie Fuqua
He works on that. Like, that's part of his preparation going into the season.
Ty Butler
And as you're saying that out loud, you don't realize you're being worked.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Maybe.
Ty Butler
Doesn't it sound like a great, great storyline, though? Yeah, that's my thing. I never go to the bathroom.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But here's the thing. What would be the reason to lie? Like, well, great. Why come up with that?
Ty Butler
Because it's a good story. Why? Never let the truth get in the way. It's a. You listen to the morning show, you listen the morning show. Why does Ebro lie about absolutely everything? Because you never let that Ebro. You never let the truth get in the way of a good story. That's Ebro's motto. Yeah, same with Scott Hansen. Anyways, lots of news about sports media today, and thank God, because without that, we'd be left to talk about the Yankees and the Mets.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Three outs Away for the Mets. No hitter.
Ty Butler
Oh, they're going to get a no hitter.
John Frenchie Fuqua
No, there being no hits.
Ty Butler
Oh, sorry.
John Frenchie Fuqua
There being no hit. Somehow, a team with Lindor and two outs now. Lindor, Alonzo Soto, clown show at home, in desperate need of a win, might get no hit.
Ty Butler
Yo. Damn. How is it, by the way, that when the teams here get into a funk, they get into it like no other team in sports. Like when they're bad. How often are other teams in this league besides. I'm not talking about the Orioles. I'm not talking about the teams who have a history of having moments like that. The Marlins, even the Guardians at times, respectfully. How many teams, though, get bad the way these teams get bad? Like, they get bad in a way.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Oh, Soto. Hold on.
Ty Butler
Soto.
John Frenchie Fuqua
So. Oh, he had a chance at it. Soto breaks up the. Wait, is it over the wall?
Ty Butler
No, it was. It looks like a single.
John Frenchie Fuqua
No, but why did he just stop?
Ty Butler
They stopped on the play. It's a home run.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Oh, it's a home run.
Ty Butler
Yeah.
Scott Hansen
I think it bounced back.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Pause.
Ty Butler
No, no, it bounced back. You're not even trying.
Scott Hansen
Definitely not.
Ty Butler
Let me see. Hold on. I need to see this again. Because it looked like. First of all, it looked like the center fielder absolutely had a shot at catching it, and I think he just mistimed it.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah.
Ty Butler
Then it looked like it stayed in and was going to be a double, and then they just gave up on the play and it was called a home run.
John Frenchie Fuqua
They're incredulous. But that's fun, right? Soto bring being the guy to break it up. That's a nice little story, I suppose. And I guess he's coming out of the game now. This picture for the Guardians, Gavin Williams.
Ty Butler
Yeah.
Scott Hansen
They'Ll probably pull him after this.
John Frenchie Fuqua
So they're reviewing this to see if it's a home run. Soto going dead center, by the way. That's some strength, by the way.
Ty Butler
He is such a. You know what? I'm. I love him, but sometimes.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah, that's clearly a home run. I mean, what are we reviewing?
Ty Butler
Yeah, that's decidedly a home run, but also could have been caught. But by the way, the Soto's. Yo, man. The way he sometimes stops and watches it is crazy.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Down.
Ty Butler
He got it by two feet and he stopped.
John Frenchie Fuqua
And my man.
Ty Butler
And you're down for nothing.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Not only are you down for nothing, you were being no hit into the night, into the ninth inning.
Ty Butler
You were no hit into the ninth. You got a hold of one and you stopped and just admired the work.
John Frenchie Fuqua
As you're about to get swept.
Ty Butler
Nah, you. That's. No, this is, this is the problem, by the way.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But you were saying, like, what other town gets bad? Like these teams where it's the jets missing the playoffs every year, 15 years straight. The Giants, they're, you know, Joe Judge shenanigans. Like, when it's bad, it's bad. And maybe because we pay attention to it more, it's, it's the number one market. But you're right, man. Like, this is terrible.
Ty Butler
No, when it's bad, it's really, really bad. This is an ad by BetterHelp. These days it feels like there's a vice for everything. Cold plunges, gratitude, journals, screen detoxes. DHR on ESPN. We're on 1050 right now as the Mets fall short against the Guardians. No. No hitter. I find it just. If I'm a Met fan, I'm annoyed Juan Soto is celebrating as emphatically as he did. You were getting embarrassed by the Guardians. You end up losing four one. You're swept. We'll see what happens with the Phillies, but the Mets are hemorrhaging. That's the type of move. And I've been protective of Soto, but that's the type of behavior you see if you're a Met fan. And it turns you off, celebrating, pimping a home run when you're already losing a game. You're on the cusp of being no hit. Maybe I'm just, you know, reading too much into it, but I'd be curious to hear from Met fans. 800-9193776 there's no way that doesn't annoy.
Ty Butler
You if you're a Mets fan. My man hit the ball, pulled the blunt out of his pocket, licked the blunt, which was disrespectful, smelled it, lit it, then poured a glass of cognac. This is before anything happened. And then the ball hits the wall and you think, oh, my God, did he not get it? He did, but he probably ty. If you're gonna. If you're gonna showboat like that, you'd usually want it to be an absolutely decisive home run. Not one where everyone watching it thinks the center fielder is going to catch the ball. But either way, the moment just isn't appropriate for it.
John Frenchie Fuqua
That's what I care more about because I am pro celebration in sports. Like, I'm the young cat. I know all these old heads, you know, respect your opponent. I'm all about you being able to celebrate. But the moments didn't call for that. Your team has been an absolute disaster. You're getting swept by the Guardian Clown show.
Ty Butler
Clown show. Clown show.
John Frenchie Fuqua
The Mets have followed up their, what was it, a seven game win streak. They've now lost six of seven games. Yeah, and now it's seven of eight games with the loss today. So listen, I've defended one, but that behavior just exudes selfishness to such a degree that even Met fans have a right to criticize him. You don't want to see that. You're getting no hit by Gavin Williams. But you know, maybe I'm looking too much into it. 800-919-3776. We're having some fun today, Pete.
Ty Butler
Why not? Why wouldn't we?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Well, we got some good news for fresh off the knee. I still don't know if she's a doctor or like what to call her, but the knee expert.
Ty Butler
The lady.
John Frenchie Fuqua
The lady.
Ty Butler
The lady checked me out and yeah, it's looking like meniscus. I just hope. Oh man. By the way, you know what got me annoyed? When I was on vacation, I saw a picture with. It was a picture with Allen and Don and the Good Karma interns. What do these interns do?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Don't disparage the interns.
Ty Butler
No, no, but why don't we have interns? Why are the interns always in a department where they cannot help me?
Anthony
Well, ESPN doesn't have interns anymore. These are Good Karma's interns.
Ty Butler
Yeah, but I'm in the building with Good Karma. Good Karma can't have their interns help out the ESPN hosts who work at the Good Karma station. I don't understand the rules.
John Frenchie Fuqua
This is all backwards. The reason why that picture was taken. Yeah. Was because since Alan and Don knew they were leaving and they weren't going to be here this week, this is their last week. The interns.
Ty Butler
Oh, the interns are still here?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yes.
Anthony
They were here all day.
John Frenchie Fuqua
They decided to wait.
Ty Butler
Did the day end?
Anthony
They leave around 4 o'.
Ty Butler
Clock.
Anthony
They get in at like 8 or 8.
Ty Butler
It's only 3:30.
Anthony
They're still in there.
Ty Butler
What do they do?
John Frenchie Fuqua
They're having a meeting.
Ty Butler
About what? I remember the old days when I. You know what interns are supposed to do?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Here we go.
Ty Butler
Supposed to go move your car. They're supposed to go get your dry cleaning. Oh, it's bad. Oh God. People think I'm a snowflake. Oh my God. The people think I'm a snowflake. And meanwhile, when you. When you. The ner. I can sense the tension that I'm suggesting interns do hands on, nitty gritty.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Work because you don't know what they do.
Ty Butler
I know. I know what they.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But that's the problem.
Ty Butler
I know what they do. They don't go get me a sandwich when I'm hungry. When I'm hungry. And by the way, I gotta get. I gotta handle my parking. Am I supposed to hold on? You. You have 30 minutes for me to limp to my car like Kaiser Sosei during the break.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I'm sorry, does this not sound privileged. They don't go get me my sandwich. You're a grown ass man. Get your own damn sandwich.
Ty Butler
Well, by the way. Okay, good luck, by the way. By the way, how's it working out for me? Because I used to go get Tigger sandwich. I would get Tigger a sandwich if he needed one. What do you need, Tig?
Anthony
What'd you say? I'm gonna tell you, Peter, times have changed a little bit.
Ty Butler
Just a little bit. Well, guess what?
Anthony
I bet you didn't get paid back then either.
Ty Butler
No.
Anthony
Well, there you go.
John Frenchie Fuqua
And also.
Ty Butler
So hold on, hold on. So real quick, pay them and have them do even less.
John Frenchie Fuqua
No, they're not ESPN interns.
Anthony
They've been shadowing programming a lot. They've learned a lot.
Ty Butler
Hey, Jacob, you seem to be the only one who's not weighing in, so I'll take it as you might be on my side. Hey, Jacob, real quick, what department is this area where the talking into the mic happens?
Scott Hansen
Oh, this is all program.
Ty Butler
Program.
Anthony
I meant promotions. They've been shadowing Troy. They've been shadowing the sales team. They're learning a lot from them. And as Ty was trying to tell you, Don and Alan took it upon themselves. And I noticed that they hadn't come in and talked to us yet, that they can sit in on each individual segment and have their own segment to talk about their internship.
Ty Butler
Hold on, hold on.
John Frenchie Fuqua
They had their own segments last week and they got treated to the last.
Anthony
And we said this would never happen if Peter was here.
Ty Butler
Wait, hold on.
Anthony
We said that on the air.
Ty Butler
They never did a thing for us. For us. And they got segments.
John Frenchie Fuqua
This is what you call paying it forward.
Ty Butler
This is what I call men. This is what I call what's wrong with our nation. They got on their wild take.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yo. This is. This is incredible.
Ty Butler
This. Hold on. You think.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Hang on. But. But here's the. You know what's blowing my mind?
Ty Butler
I'm right, by the way.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You know what's blowing my mind?
Scott Hansen
Peter does have a point, though.
Ty Butler
I have so many points.
Anthony
You liked when they were here.
Ty Butler
I like them, too. They're lovely, nice people.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You know, sometimes, like, your argument can be very strong, but then you intercept it. But where's my damn sandwich?
Ty Butler
I don't.
John Frenchie Fuqua
They're not parking. Come on. Tell me that's not, like, taking it a little bit too far. No, Jacob, come on. That to me, you're an intern, Jake, and you're. We got the show playing through these speakers and you're hearing him Say that.
Scott Hansen
That, that sounds great.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Come on.
Ty Butler
No, if you, if you're, if you are a new, modern day intern, I'm sure it would sound too far, but I come from a different era.
Scott Hansen
I must say, I do agree. I. I was part of the interns where I had to go move cars, I had to go pick up food. And the consolation of it was I probably get a free meal out of it.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But that's not a learning experience.
Ty Butler
No.
John Frenchie Fuqua
By the way, learning experience. Working your car.
Ty Butler
And Jacob, real quick, where are you gainfully employed now?
Scott Hansen
Espn.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Oh, okay.
Ty Butler
So I guess it worked out because you develop camaraderie, closeness, trust and respect.
John Frenchie Fuqua
So that's a. So that is a product of your internship that you landed here. Jacob, come on.
Ty Butler
But Ty, real quick, did you intern here?
Scott Hansen
No, I didn't intern here.
Ty Butler
I wasn't here.
Scott Hansen
No.
Ty Butler
No.
Scott Hansen
Where was it started at hot and then.
Ty Butler
Oh yeah, that's right.
Scott Hansen
Translated to everything else.
Ty Butler
Did I ever send you for a sandwich? No. Okay.
Scott Hansen
I did.
Anthony
By the way, if you ask any of the five kids in there to do that, they would do it in a heartbeat. That's not the point.
Ty Butler
Yeah, that's not at all about them. It's not remotely about them. Here's the thing. The problem is Ty's actually defending the interns as if I think the ones at fault here are the interns. The problem is companies these days don't believe in the concept of free internship or they don't want to pay for internship or. You know, even though I often tend to fall on the snowflakey side of things, we've gotten so soft that we don't believe working for free should be a thing. Here's my problem. If you want to work in truly in programming because Anthony Met Promotions. If you were to work in programming, as I did, I interned into programming, right? So when I went to wpgc at the time that I did, I got to intern for Big Tigger, the legendary Big Tigger, host of Rhapsody. What did I offer as a 19 year old to programming? Honestly, what. As a 19 year old, I can offer my. Hey, Peter, what songs are hot out there? What are the kids listening to? At the time I knew, can you answer the phones? I did that. I got to answer the phones. I got to write down songs. I got to take the CDs. At the time, this wouldn't be a thing anymore. Load them up, stack them, do all that stuff. But Tigger needs X, Y and Z thing also. I got that too. And you know what? That led to. Now Tigger has an event. Guess who wants to roll with him?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Me.
Ty Butler
Because I'm his road dog now. I can help him out and learn things. I'm still doing the other stuff.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But the way you present.
Ty Butler
Why would they pay me? I should have been paying them to be there. In fact, I was.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Hang on. But the way you presented, it wasn't like that.
Ty Butler
Well, that's not entertaining.
John Frenchie Fuqua
No, I understand.
Ty Butler
I just am saying I need someone to go to my car at 4 o'. Clock. It can't be. I don't have 15 minutes to hobble my way to the car right now. So I just would need someone to get my drugs.
John Frenchie Fuqua
And they're also.
Ty Butler
This doesn't sound great either.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But none of it's getting worse. Let's have the intern.
Ty Butler
The drugs are prescription for my knee. Okay? For the inflammation. We've heard that before. Now I'm sounding a lot more like Rush Limbaugh all of a sudden.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah, I got my plug. I'm giving on 14th Street. Go pick up my drugs. What are we talking about? These are again? These are good karma interns, not ESPN employees.
Ty Butler
Listen, all I'm saying. Okay, can you hear me out on this part though?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Okay?
Ty Butler
It's not a little weak? It's not a little weak. You have. Don and Allen have made fun of me taking paternity leave. Which if I didn't take it, I could only be described as a bonafide moron. That would be the only way you describe someone, right? Ty, I'm gonna offer you something. 52 weeks, $1 million. I don't make a million dollars. But I wanna keep you. Or 40 weeks. $1 million. What's the deal? You take.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I'm taking 40.
Ty Butler
You're taking 40?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yes.
Ty Butler
You want to spend the other 12 with your family? Yes. So they're gonna give me a hard time. And guys, it's gonna continue, I'd say through the holidays. I mean, Christmas time, I'm going to get a hard time because it's soft that I took my paternity leave. You're telling me it's not soft that Don and Allen invited interns who never did one thing for them, ever, because they work at other departments to get radio time?
John Frenchie Fuqua
No, it's not soft.
Ty Butler
That is soft.
John Frenchie Fuqua
No. You know why it's not soft?
Ty Butler
How'd they get that?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Well, because we were in the conference room. Go ahead. Smash Burger pulled up with some Smash Burger.
Ty Butler
What the hell was going on while I was gone?
Anthony
Well, that was a food drop you were part of the other.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Pulled up with some lunch, and in the conversation, they learned that some of them had, like, radio career aspirations. So they said, you know what? We'll do something nice for you. We'll put you on the air, tell your story, give your take. I think that that's cool. I think that's dope. You were mentioning something about Flex. What were you gonna say about Flex?
Ty Butler
Oh, you don't want. You don't wanna know. Well, yeah, I used to probably send him to the Bronx to pick up a sandwich.
Scott Hansen
Yeah. First of all, I've heard stories where Flex had you go get, like, fries from McDonald's, a burger from Burger King.
Ty Butler
That is a fact.
Scott Hansen
Shakes from that is a fact.
Ty Butler
He likes to get different restaurants.
Scott Hansen
But it was more so about Trolley.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Right? But come on.
Ty Butler
Yeah, I think so, in a way.
Scott Hansen
But I see what the outcome could be. Like, come on. Like, I did things like for Flex, that became crucial to his setup of the show in terms of set up his turntables, like, go move his car if need be, get a playlist ready if he's not ready. And this is all before I was even a board op or production. I said, no. I couldn't even get a salary from the station at the park.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Can you meet me here? All right, I'll move your car in addition to the actual learning experience. Is that cool? Of course.
Ty Butler
Well, the whole thing should be, but.
John Frenchie Fuqua
That'S what I'm saying.
Ty Butler
No, no, listen.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I have no problem moving your car. Yo, I'm not.
Ty Butler
People are gonna think I'm asking you to move my car. How do you think optically that looks? Ty Butler works with Peter Rosenberg, and Peter takes the Butler part very seriously and says, can you go move my car during this break?
John Frenchie Fuqua
By the way, it also wouldn't look right. I mean, he's the right dude on the butt.
Peter Rosenberg
What are you thinking?
Ty Butler
You already called me yesterday. You already said something was racial. I didn't ask Ty to move my car. I'm talking about unnamed interns. Specifically the white one.
John Frenchie Fuqua
He called me a substitute teacher yesterday. That felt a little racial. But, yo, I remember I hit you up. I remember I hit you up. This was back when I was part time bored, op asking if I could come to your morning show, just sit around and do that whole thing. And you said, nah, it's not a good idea because there are certain people on the show who wouldn't love that. But I get you. I just feel like in addition to.
Ty Butler
The learning, there should always be a learning Part.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah.
Ty Butler
But in addition to the learning, you're gonna also just. You're gonna be Aaron guy, too. And for me, it was. It was incredibly valuable. Made me feel like I had a purpose. Because otherwise, what do you offer at first when you're. Honestly, by the way, I don't know, these kids, maybe they really offer a lot to the department they're in, but sometimes a 19 year old shows up to a TV station or radio station and you're like, what can you do? And they're like, absolutely nothing. I have to pay you to be here.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I just also feel like.
Ty Butler
And also my dream, how badly I want guys. When I walked into WPGC as at 19 years old and saw that I got to be there, that was such motivation for me. And listen, I came from privilege. I was someone who was able to be in college. I didn't need a job. My dorm was paid for. So I get it. If you're someone who really comes from nothing and you don't have any time to waste, that a paid internship is clearly what would make the most sense. But for some people, a lot of college kids in particular, they're just out there to learn. I hate that we've taken away the free internship.
John Frenchie Fuqua
No, I feel that it limits opportunity. Think that this might be their last day. So if this is the final conversation they're hearing on their way out, that kind of. That kind of sucks.
Ty Butler
Well, listen, if it makes you feel any better, have you heard how high the volume is kept in this building? They didn't hear anything. They could be walking by the speaker. They don't hear it. I promise you, they would have to read lips.
John Frenchie Fuqua
And you do. Yeah.
Ty Butler
Listen, by the way, I would like to meet all of these interns. I want to shake their hand. I want to wish them well.
John Frenchie Fuqua
He's got some errands he needs y' all to run. Pull up.
Ty Butler
By the way, I really could use someone run by car, and it's not gonna be Ty. Okay. All right. We're having a lot of fun here, 1-800-919-3776. Didn't know we'd do a full intern break, but here we are.

Feeling more fulfilled now that you're back to work on August 15th?
John Frenchie Fuqua
No. I need a vacation.
Ty Butler
See the movie that critics are saying is an awesome look at that crowd pleasing, fist pumping all out brawl of a film.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You're right about that. They're coming after our fans. Go fix this.
Ty Butler
Oh my. Nobody 2 rated R only in theaters August 15th.
Peter Rosenberg
Thanks for listening to The Don Hahn and Rosenberg podcast.
Ty Butler
I didn't listen to anything you just said.
Peter Rosenberg

Ty Butler
This is about the intern conversation. Yeah. I love interns, by the way. Not like that. We love it.
John Frenchie Fuqua
You're one of those back at my day kind of guys.
Ty Butler
I am about this because it was such a good thing for my life. The internship was. Honestly, I don't know where my life is without the original internship. And I hated when I lost it at my two jobs. Not because there's no one there to get a sandwiches, but truthfully, because I was like, there's no. No new blood. You never meet new blood at the radio station.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Not that. Not that you're ever at the radio station.
Ty Butler
You mean the other one?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah.
Ty Butler
No, over my dead bottle.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Because the reason why I bring that up is because we had someone in our mentions yesterday complaining that we did the show from home. They put the stream out and like, day two, and he's already at home, that Peter Rose.
Ty Butler
And yet here I am with my meniscus. Came in, no problem, light work, happy to be here. I like coming in here. Honestly, the only thing that's annoying about coming in here is the toll and paying for parking. Now, I do take the train sometimes, but there are certain times a year where I'm just not.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yo. Last week, I had to deal with a train issue. There was an outage at West 4th Street. It took me two hours to get from Queens to the. To the station. I was late to Barton Carlin. Carlin had to start without me. Two hours.
Ty Butler
Damn.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Two hours.
Ty Butler
That is the worst. You're just stuck on the train.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Just stuck on the train. And poor woman's on there talking about, we appreciate your patience. We're dealing with the slight delay.
Ty Butler
Were you between stops?
John Frenchie Fuqua
No, we were at, like, we were parked at a station, but you couldn't.
Ty Butler
Get out and just leave.
John Frenchie Fuqua
There were. There were seven trains that were down, so I had no options. I had to stay. And I considered Uber happening in an Uber, but they've gotten. They've gotten smart enough where they do the price gouging thing. $90 to go a mile. I said, hell, no, I'm not doing that. That.
Ty Butler
See, that's disgusting. Now you want to know disgusting? The fact that they can flip that to make that $90 to go a mile because they know the trains are out. Same thing with bad weather.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah, so that. That last week pissed me off.
Ty Butler
No, I like coming here now. Hot I'll tell you this right now. I'll negotiate this live on the air. I don't care if they hear it. They're never going to pay me enough money at HOT to go in live every day again.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Do you?
Ty Butler
Because mornings going in, for me, it's. It's. Listen, God bless Rick and Dave. God bless you. God bless rj, right? God bless Santiago. Santiago particularly. That guy's schedule's insane now for me, after all the years I got up every day and went in for mornings. When that pandemic hit and my life became weight, I just leave the room. I can't go back.
John Frenchie Fuqua
It introduced you to a whole different reality, by the way.
Ty Butler
And I'm not saying it with like. I'm not saying it is a bad thing or a good thing. I'm not saying that you can judge me and think I'm lazy. I'm 46 years old with a bad knee now. With a bad knee. That chapter is over. They'd have to come with. So they'll never have enough money to say, we think you should come in every day.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Wait, is there a minimum amount of days you have to appear in studio in the morning? No, not at this moment.
Ty Butler
Not at this moment. Because it's sort of like left in the air and our numbers are great. So, like, you're going to tinker with. How much of a fuss do you want to make with a morning show that's consistently top five, 18 to 34, 25 to 54? We're in. You listen. Come on, bro. Who am I talking to? You're the audience. We know what we're doing. We have. We found our groove. Yeah. So, like, there's no. Is there some upside to one more in person? Sure, I think there is some upside. But, like, general day to day, the show sounds like the show.
John Frenchie Fuqua
It does.
Ty Butler
We've been. We. The pandemic. We did it so much that we just kind of found our groove with it. And for me, it made me such a happier person. Bro, when you have to leave your house every day to everyone out there who's wakes up at pre 5, 6am, you know how different it is to when all of a sudden you don't have to do that.
John Frenchie Fuqua
And that's the argument. We're just going in so many different directions. Listen, it's like a podcast we're doing.
Ty Butler
I got news for you. First of all, we're on the app. Second of all, it's August 6th, so go ahead. What were you gonna say?
John Frenchie Fuqua
So the argument that because there's been a lot of research done on, you know, pushing back against companies bringing their employees back into, into, you know, into the office. And one of the biggest points of emphasis is you get a more joy, a more joyful person. They're happier. You eliminate the commute, you know, childcare and all that. Like they're a happier person. So it sounds like to you that.
Ty Butler
Works for me it did. I think in some cases it doesn't. Right. Like for me on this show I like coming in because now it's already 2 o' clock in the afternoon. I have my baby who I adore, but I'm tired. Natalie's dealing with her own things. Come 1:30 I'm like, you know what?
John Frenchie Fuqua
It's a nice day out.
Ty Butler
It's beautiful. I thought I'd head on down to the. And then, you know, listen, work from home on Friday. I think that's a great situation.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But four days later, nine to five people, I'm saying I know.
Ty Butler
I think it really depends on the person and I think some people can really self motivate and do a great job from home a lot. I'd say like half the people I know, their jobs became telecommute. At least a good amount of people I know now. I personally wish the Mets and Yankees could start to telecommute. That would be an ideal situation where they don't even have to show up anymore because you basically know what you're getting now. The Yankees currently are holding on by a thread. That game's 2:1. Where are what innings that in?
John Frenchie Fuqua
They are headed to the top of the fifth.
Ty Butler
Top of the fifth. They're up to one two one on the run. J the Mets nearly no hit up until a Juan Soto home run. But they lose again to the Guardians. We are going to have a list coming up at 4:30. Ty Butler is going to break down the five Yankees of the modern era that he hates the most. I'm so looking forward to this.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Bad about.
Ty Butler
Listen sometimes, sometimes bad is good radio.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I understand that but when Anthony hit me with the text, how about we go five Yankees you hated the most.
Ty Butler
Listen, I felt.
John Frenchie Fuqua
Damn.
Ty Butler
Listen. I felt bad about like when I called Brett Gardner at the time a tryhard because he's a wonderful guy. Right. I felt bad but like sometimes you have to go with your gut because it's. That is what the real content is and it's timely in this moment. Yes, this specific list is timely, not the Guardi thing. Who by the way now I misses try Harding. So who doesn't miss Brett Gardner, what a, what a great asset he was to have for this baseball team that he is exactly who they've been missing ever since he walked out the door. It's not even about what he that's the intangible thing that these metrics don't ever show you. A guy who's like, you know, pretty good at getting on base, conceal a base for you now and then. Good, good fielder, situational hitter, whatever. Pretty good in all those ways. But what do they bring to the clubhouse?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Not tolerating bs, not tolerating.
Ty Butler
Are they someone who is ultimately going to pull someone aside who may be better than them and say, hey, we need more from you.
John Frenchie Fuqua
But here's what I just thought about because I agree with that point. It was an excellent one you made earlier this week. Do the Yankees want a guy like that in that clubhouse who's going to push back against the culture that they've.
Ty Butler
Tried to create, or do they assiduously avoid anyone like that?
John Frenchie Fuqua
Yeah, because now there's dissension. We don't want guys like that.
Ty Butler
I have horrible news. If you are someone who hates professional wrestling and you hate the idea of WWE and ESPN working together and that news is that at 6 o' clock a gentleman by the name of Paul Heyman will be in studio to hang out, talk about SummerSlam weekend. That was talk about the brand new ESPN WWE deal. And frankly Ty, I don't know if you've ever talked to Paul.
John Frenchie Fuqua
I never have. So I'm really looking forward to this.
Ty Butler
His stories. Like if we can just go into his life some. You want to talk about grinding from being an intern? This is a guy who has like a 12 year old showed up with a Polaroid camera to Madison Square Garden and said how can I do something? And now is, I don't know if you're aware, very successful. A lot of money in that bank account. Star of screen every single week and it really worked out. So he's just got amazing stories from taking pictures at Studio 54 and msg to making it all the way to managing people like Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, etc. So we'll have Paul Heyman in Studio 6 o'. Clock.
Peter Rosenberg
Thanks for listening to the Don Hahn and Rosenberg podcast.
Ty Butler
I don't want to know how the.
Peter Rosenberg
Sausage is made, man.
Ty Butler

Ty Butler (02:00): “Now it's not confirmed because I haven't got an MRI yet, but we're trending there very much...”
John Frenchie Fuqua (01:35): “There's an APB out for my man Rosenberg. That knee injury might have gotten him that knee.”
They delve into the nature of Ty’s injury, speculating it to be a meniscus tear, and discuss the implications for his immediate future on the show.
A significant portion of the discussion centers around the contemporary role of interns at their station. Ty expresses frustration over the current intern system, feeling that modern internships lack the hands-on, meaningful experiences he once had.
Ty Butler (27:36): “Supposed to go move your car. They're supposed to go get your dry cleaning...”
John Frenchie Fuqua (28:01): “You have to pay you to be here.”
The conversation highlights the tension between traditional, task-oriented internships and the current trend towards unpaid positions that offer limited learning opportunities.
The hosts transition to discussing the newly announced partnership between ESPN and WWE, exploring its potential impact on both organizations and their audiences.
Roman Reigns (09:24): “Anytime you can team up with a platform like ESPN, it's an obvious partnership.”
Ty Butler (08:12): “This is not going to be... it'll mostly feel the way the UFC deal feels...”
They speculate on possible integrations, such as featuring WWE personalities on ESPN platforms and the creative directions this collaboration might take.
A core focus of the episode is the Mets' ongoing struggles, particularly a recent game against the Guardians where the team was moments away from achieving a no-hitter before succumbing to a loss.
John Frenchie Fuqua (18:20): “The Mets right now being no hit at home in Citi Field.”
Ty Butler (19:22): “You were no hit into the ninth. You got a hold of one and you stopped and just admired the work.”
The hosts express frustration over the team's performance, analyzing key moments like Juan Soto's controversial home run celebration and its effect on Mets fans.
Discussion also touches on defensive plays, specifically Juan Soto's missed opportunities to secure the no-hitter.
Towards the end of the episode, the hosts tease upcoming segments, including a list titled “Five Yankees of the Modern Era That I Hate the Most,” promising heated opinions and engaging discussions.
They emphasize the blend of sports analysis with personal anecdotes, aiming to provide both informative and entertaining content for their listeners.

Ty Butler (44:50): “I'm not saying it is a bad thing or a good thing. I'm 46 years old with a bad knee now.”
These interactions not only humanize the hosts but also foster a sense of camaraderie and candidness that resonates with the audience.
In their closing segments, the hosts encourage listener interaction by promoting their contact number for fan messages and feedback, maintaining an open channel of communication with their audience.
