Don La Greca
Where the hell is. Before the show, we talked about invited him to the mark Sasso softball. He's excited to Play. I think August 22nd is the date we're looking at.
Peter Rosenberg
I just texted him.
Don La Greca
Did he leave?
Peter Rosenberg
Somebody find Tyler Murray. Where is he? Tyler Murray, where are you?
Don La Greca
Want to get him on?
Alan Hahn
Well, the problem is everybody knows what he sounds like. They may not know his face. Although he did go very viral last very.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes, he did. So we'll try an amazing call. It's happening, Knicks fans. It's happening. Are you kidding me?
Alan Hahn
He crushed it.
Peter Rosenberg
Absolutely crushing. Where is he?
Alan Hahn
I don't know. I don't know.
Don La Greca
All right, we'll try to get him, but as we wait.
Peter Rosenberg
Somebody check.
Don La Greca
On his way.
Alan Hahn
Check the bathroom.
Don La Greca
Peto's on his way.
Peter Rosenberg
Do you know Peto's on his way? Do you want me to text him?
Don La Greca
I have no. I'm just going by you, man.
Caller/Listener
Oh, all right.
Peter Rosenberg
Let me. Let me find out what his deal is.
Don La Greca
Why would he not want to be here at stout seven and eight?
Peter Rosenberg
Everybody's here.
Don La Greca
Everybody. This is amazing. The vibe is just tremendous. Let's go to Matt. Middletown, you're on Don on a Rosenberg.
Caller/Listener
What up, guys?
How we doing? How we feeling?
Don La Greca
What do you think? You had to guess.
Caller/Listener
Well, great, obviously.
Peter Rosenberg
Floating like.
Caller Josh
I wish I would.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
I wish I could be at the parade. I got the okay for my boss. They said work from home. I said that means watch the Knicks parade and do whatever I want to do, you know, so got that blessing.
Don La Greca
So nice. Take advantage.
Caller/Listener
Yeah. Phenomenal.
By the way, I'm getting a championship
hat that you guys are wearing. I'm seeing you guys on YouTube.
Don La Greca
Yeah. Thanks to New Year. You need.
Alan Hahn
You need the new era official.
Peter Rosenberg
You need it. This is. This is the official.
Caller/Listener
It's literally in my safari as we speak.
Peter Rosenberg
I love this one, by the way.
Caller/Listener
With it.
Peter Rosenberg
With the Lario on it. I love this.
Alan Hahn
That's funny. I traded. I love that I traded the Lario for the one you have with the locker room.
Peter Rosenberg
I like this is the locker room, but I love the Larry O on it, though. That's. That's. That's. That's fancy.
Alan Hahn
Ah, damn it. I know. I want both. Natalie wants both. Now. I got to figure this out.
Don La Greca
I'll figure it out.
Peter Rosenberg
I know a guy.
Don La Greca
Continue, man.
Caller/Listener
I'm sorry.
Don La Greca
It's that kind of.
Caller/Listener
I love it.
No, you guys are good, man.
Caller Josh
Listen, we're luxuriating.
Caller/Listener
It's fine, man.
Don La Greca
That's right.
Caller/Listener
All I'm going to say is I
want to be, I want to make
this last point because I'm luxuriating in the, in the phenomenon and the Bach and all that. This is, I want Kyler Murray on.
So someone, Someone find him.
Don La Greca
Oh, we just very disappointed to announce that he left.
Alan Hahn
Why did he leave?
Peter Rosenberg
There's no way he knew he was coming home with us, Doc. Why would he leave? All right, I'm hurt now.
Caller/Listener
Unbelievable.
You know what?
Don La Greca
I don't.
Peter Rosenberg
Bad thing to happen today.
Alan Hahn
That's right. This is how it starts.
Peter Rosenberg
Damn.
Don La Greca
Who do we blame for this?
Peter Rosenberg
I, I blame us.
Alan Hahn
But he was in the building.
Peter Rosenberg
No one grabbed him and literally in the building.
Don La Greca
Well, no, I, I, I saw him about like 2:10. It was that early. But I figured he was here because he knew he was coming on.
Peter Rosenberg
I hugged him. Right before the show. Right before the show.
Alan Hahn
But did you say, we'll see you on air?
Priceline Advertiser
I did.
Peter Rosenberg
I said, you're coming on. He goes, absolutely.
Alan Hahn
So what did his text do?
Peter Rosenberg
You say he hasn't responded?
Alan Hahn
Oh, he's right. He was right there. Right.
Don La Greca
Maybe he just went out to get a, you know, have a smoke.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
You think he's having smoking a heater downstairs?
Peter Rosenberg
I mean, cigar, at least that would go against tight. The only thing I'm missing today, Donnie. The only thing I'm missing is cigar.
Alan Hahn
You haven't had a cigar?
Peter Rosenberg
Not yet. Smelled a lot of cigar smoke.
Alan Hahn
I was a lot.
Peter Rosenberg
Did not get offered one. I was a little upset. I like. Oh, that sounds like it smells.
Alan Hahn
Weren't you on Josh's float?
Peter Rosenberg
And he had a cigar. He was ripping one. Yeah, well, that thing was down to like a nub.
Alan Hahn
Did you and Josh talk any commanders or you let it go today?
Peter Rosenberg
You know, I thought about bringing up the commanders and then I thought better of it. Okay, well, you know, didn't think it was a good day for commanders.
Alan Hahn
It's a thing between me. Don't you worry.
Don La Greca
I was flipping. I was flipping around. I didn't even know this was on because Channel seven, abc, our network.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Don La Greca
Is always good with the summer re bring, you know, bringing back the old school quiz shows. The game shows. Yeah, but I just flipping around. Sure you were. And Channel 4, NBC has password. And this was what's Today? It was like Tuesday.
Peter Rosenberg
Yep, yep.
Don La Greca
And Josh Hart was on.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Don La Greca
Jimmy Fallon, he crushed it. Not obviously that was taped, but talk about that long. They didn't. They didn't know when they taped it that they were going to win the time. That is perfect.
Alan Hahn
That's pretty well done.
Don La Greca
Channel. He was great, man. He really handled himself. That's a tough game show, this guy.
Peter Rosenberg
I think Josh Hart among this whole team. Because Jalen Brunson obviously is like the superstar, the one. He's the most recognizable now name on the team. Number, all of it, right? But if you think, is there a guy that New York loves? There's always the one guy that's sort of like the grit guy that everybody just loves.
Caller/Listener
Right.
Peter Rosenberg
He's also funny as hell, like sometimes unintentionally funny, but he just has that way. Josh is the character, isn't he? Isn't Josh just that guy?
Alan Hahn
Well, Josh, to me, actually, everybody, you
Peter Rosenberg
just love that guy.
Alan Hahn
I'm not. I'm not just saying this. I know it's so cheesy, but he is the heart and soul player of the team.
Peter Rosenberg
It's true.
Alan Hahn
And that. That, truth be told, he had that on.
Peter Rosenberg
He had a. He had a fitted hat. He had it special made, clearly. And on the back, that's what it said. Hart, his name, H A R T of the City was. Script was stitched on the back. I'm like, bro, I need that.
Caller/Listener
But that.
Alan Hahn
That is. And truth be told, when I saw him the other day before I brought up the commanders, I said, just so you know, I said, I'm not a Knicks fan, but I've been in this city for 20 years watching this team and this fan base. You are a forever player. You are. You epitomize what Knicks fans really is.
Caller/Listener
He.
Alan Hahn
That's like what Q Tip, we talked to Q Tip about it yesterday. He's one of those gritty, dive on loose balls, jump up and scrap. He has all that. And then in this run, the amount of pivotal shots when they were desperate for a bucket.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
It ended up. It seemed like he would always fall into his hands and he knocked down a three.
SleepScore Advertiser
He's.
Alan Hahn
He's a. He's a forever guy now, guys, that
Peter Rosenberg
line that he has on the. On the. The hot mic, that will now be one of those infamous. Not infamous. That would be one of those famous special moments that people will always go to when it comes to Nick history when he's talking to Mitchell Robbins and he said, you get rebounds, but I get rebounds.
SleepScore Advertiser
That break.
Alan Hahn
And it was so true.
Peter Rosenberg
What an epic line. That.
Alan Hahn
And it was so True.
Peter Rosenberg
And it's right.
Alan Hahn
He did it again. Although in the end it was OG No, Mitch got the.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, the.
Alan Hahn
The end the series.
Peter Rosenberg
He got the bound breaker was.
Caller/Listener
But.
Alan Hahn
But Josh did it throughout the year. And I'll say this, I wish I
Peter Rosenberg
remembered that when I interviewed Mitch. No, he did.
Caller/Listener
He got the.
Peter Rosenberg
Josh said this, but you're the one that got. The one that broke.
Alan Hahn
It broke the whole season. But I will say this about this Knicks team too. You know, as a growing up, a Celtics fan, you think. I think you have that banner with the 33, 32 and 0 on it, like that was the double 0. That is the bird, Parish, McHale. Yeah, birds the guy. But it's those three. I really do think with this team, it's going to end up being 11.
Peter Rosenberg
32 and 3. 32. 3.
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And then after that, do you go Bridges or eight and do. I mean eight. Let's. Like what does eight do from here? Like, that's a big. It's all a big part of it. But those three to me are the first three that go up. You agree?
Alan Hahn
Yeah, oh, yeah, for sure. It's those three.
Peter Rosenberg
Those three go up. There's no question.
Alan Hahn
Dennis Johnson eventually went up in Boston too, I think. Did Dennis Johnson's three eventually go up? I think it might have as well. Because that would be sort of the Mikhail Bridges part because. Oh, but OG Is a star.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, he made the most epic shot.
Alan Hahn
And it's the most epic shot, maybe. No, it's the most epic shot in team history.
Peter Rosenberg
Most epic shot, franchise history.
Caller/Listener
Right.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. Dennis Johnson went up in 91. Actually, he went up before he went up first.
Alan Hahn
Bird was still playing, so was Mikhail.
Don La Greca
Because you look at the other Garden, because you got to see how this all ages, right? Because you look at when the Rangers won in 94. So the guys that got retired there, Messier, obviously 11 Richter's number 35, retired Graves and Leach.
Peter Rosenberg
Yep.
Don La Greca
All right. Now Leach is a Hall of Famer. You knew he was going to go Messier. You knew he was going to go hall of Fame or Graves career with the Rangers. But there were other guys that if you were talking that we were doing the show after the parade when the Rangers won, you'd be like, well, Zuboff led the team in scoring in the playoffs. His number is going to go up. Well, Kovalev scored the goal against the Devils. That made it two one in game six in the comeback. And he's so young and he's going to be a superstar. Didn't Work out. You know, Zuboff ends up going to Dallas. Kovalev bounces around, has a great career, but not with the Rangers. So you really don't know, guys. It's. We got to let. You got to play. Listen, Brunson, forget it. He's, he's, he's. Whatever. He's there.
Alan Hahn
I'm willing to also throw Hart into that. I think Hart is kind of a done deal because I think him and Brunson are attached. I don't think they're going, he. He's not there.
Nordstrom Rack Advertiser
I.
Alan Hahn
It's very hard to picture a world in which Brunson, with the power he will wield here, is going to be like, oh, yeah, no, we got to trade Josh. I understand. I just don't see it. Like, I think the two of them are. I would say, even though Cat's the better player, Josh is to me more of a lock that the number gets retired. Because, Kat, we don't necessarily know what's going to happen when it's time. Do they pay him? We'll see. But I think all three in the end will go up.
Don La Greca
Well, there will be. Yeah.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Don La Greca
It'll be interesting just to see how it all ages as we move forward. Let's go to Nick and Emerson, you're on. Don, Han and Rosenberg.
Caller/Listener
Yes,
Rosenberg. How you guys doing?
Don La Greca
What's up, man?
Caller/Listener
Oh, oh, you know, I'm doing great. Doing great, Peter. I got, I gotta tell.
I got, I gotta tell you.
You said, you know, a lot of people couldn't get into the. Into the parade area, which you're 100% right. Me, my brother, my two friends in the back seat right now.
We're on our way home. We couldn't get in there, but we
made the best of every experience we could possibly have. They were all going nuts, insane, everything. It was a beautiful experience. I have no idea if I'll ever experience that again. But the fact that we didn't get all the way in there yet. We were in the board and it experience with everybody else. You couldn't look forward, left, right, or behind you without somebody wearing orange and blue. It was a beautiful day, boys. I love you. And go, New York.
Go, New York, go.
Alan Hahn
Love you, man. That's a great story. And Don, real quick, this sums up how crazy things were. We were walking past places and at like 8:39, 9:15, you could start seeing some of the people who'd given up. Like, I'm not going to be in it. It's too much. I can't do it. And what you'd see is at a bagel spot there would just be a line out the door. Like people were just giving up. Let's just go get breakfast and wander around because I'm not doing this. But every bodega and every bagel spot had lines of people just saying, I just want to be downtown. I just want to eat and hang out. But like at a certain point it got so deep so early, I knew in the morning, Natalie Woke up at 6:30 and she's looking at her phone and already seeing lines here, lines there. The video that freaked me out. And I was like, oh my God. Did you guys see the video moving around this morning of people attempting to get off downtown, get off the train? And there was a line to get out of the train station like 500 deep. And no one could before.
Peter Rosenberg
It was before they opened the gates to let you into the.
Alan Hahn
So it backed up in all the way into the.
Peter Rosenberg
That's why they opened at 6:30. They ended up. They were supposed to open them at 7. They opened them at 6:30 because they realized like, this is getting ridiculous.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, we got to let people out.
Don La Greca
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
So it does seem like there are going to be a lot of stories of people who made the most of it and made it and that's all you can do.
Peter Rosenberg
You get here and it's like, I can't get, I can't get all the way down. But I'll do the best I can and I'll have the most fun I can. And then come in a stout and hanging out with us.
Alan Hahn
That's right.
Peter Rosenberg
Just adding to the party.
Don La Greca
And you can't say that you weren't warned. I mean, I think the city did a great job letting everybody know what kind of to expect. But you know, there are certain people like, oh, it's not going to be that bad. I'll leave later. I'll find a way to get there. And then, oh my God, no, you didn't get there. That's on you. You can't say you didn't have the information. And you brought it up earlier. There are going to be people that said, oh, bad job out of city. I couldn't get, you know, listen, whatever.
Peter Rosenberg
How are you managing 2.5 million people?
Don La Greca
You can't. I mean it's just not, it's not built for that and the experience. But you know, so far it's 4:15 and I've heard nothing but good things. Nothing but about great experiences from people who both were there, people that were on the outskirts, people that didn't go but watched it on television. Great job by msg. I know my wife and Marco were watching on Channel 7 said that they did a great job. So terrific all around for everybody so far today. Victor's in the Bronx. You're on ESPN New York.
Caller/Listener
Guys, what's going on? First and foremost, all three of you guys, you guys are the cream of proper radio. I love listening to you. I'm gonna make it. I got a little story about today days experience with me in the parade. How I improvised. I came down with my two buddies. We got up around five, we got down about, jumped in the car about six, got down around seven. Barricades were telling people, you could go this way, you could go that way. This is a true story. One of my friends, his name is Zach, Zach blends, he cuts Josh Hart's hair. So he's a barber. And then when I turn around and I see a guy with a camera, so on one of the corners they're like, yo, it's, it's press only. It's press only. So I grabbed the guy with the camera, I started telling them, listen, I'm with, I'm with Josh Hart. Long story short, we end up getting through the line, end up getting to like Champions Boulevard or whatever. Got to see, got to get them a great spot and got to witness the parade. When I was this weekend when I watched them win, I was out in a bar and I couldn't let my emotions go in front of the bar. I don't know, the machismo just kicked in. But I'm a big crybaby. But once I got to the parade and soaking all of this in, in my 50 years and just looking around and just seeing like a sea of orange and blue, the emotions just started kicking in and the tears just started coming in and I knew that I'm a New Yorker, I've never been to the Statue of Liberty. But me, my Nick fandom, I was not going to miss this moment. And I made the best of it. And that was just a great story. And guys, you just keep on doing what you're doing. You guys are great. And Alan, I'm so happy for you because you've been such a pleasure and such a rider for New York and you just ride for us through the ups and downs and I'm just happy for you. You're the voice of us and it's just big from the Bronx. And I had a great experience and this was like a lifelong dream. I hope that I'm living it for the people that couldn't see it. And what a great experience today to just. Just see it, man. Thank you guys for taking my call. I appreciate you, man.
Don La Greca
Thank you, Victor. Great job, Victor.
Alan Hahn
Now, real quick, a leaderboard update presented by Michelob Ultra. We go out to Southampton, New York. Shinnecock. Don.
Peter Rosenberg
It's all happening.
Alan Hahn
You know you love Shinnecock. It's all happening in the US Open. And you know how hard Shinnecock is, by the way. And I'm being serious. It is nearly impossible. Might as well be Boston right now, tied at two under. Your leader. Sam Stevens, tied with a writer. Cowan, another one I know Don's a big fan of. And Wyndham Clark. They are top the leaderboard at two under. Rory McElroy right there after them at one under. And that is your leaderboard update brought to you by Michelob Ultra. Doesn't matter if you're a pro or just playing for fun. The moment you play, play for a Michelob Ultra, every move suddenly means something more. Because Superior is worth playing for. Michelob Ultra. Superior Light beer. Enjoy response with Windham. Wyndham.
Peter Rosenberg
Wyndham. I'm looking at aerial video of this parade.
Caller/Listener
Oh.
Don La Greca
Oh.
Alan Hahn
Can I see?
Peter Rosenberg
Jeez.
Alan Hahn
Is it one that gives you, like, some perspective?
Peter Rosenberg
I don't even know. I'll send it to you. I'll put in the group. This like I'm telling you, this is multi millions. This is multi million.
Alan Hahn
Bigger than MacArthur is what you're saying.
Peter Rosenberg
It might be bigger than MacArthur.
Alan Hahn
It can't be bigger than MacArthur.
Peter Rosenberg
It's going to be.
Don La Greca
Again, people were smaller, so it probably wouldn't look as big. Or maybe they just say, hey, we'll just say 7 million. Nobody's gonna check.
Peter Rosenberg
Nobody's gonna know. Would they count by hand?
Don La Greca
They're not even gonna be here in 2020.
Peter Rosenberg
They're gonna. I'm estimating this was 5 million people.
Don La Greca
Ah, 23. Skadoo. We're gonna have a house on the moon. Nobody's gonna look back and see how many people just put seven.
Peter Rosenberg
They won't even care.
Alan Hahn
By the way, Allen, shout out to our guy Russ. Our guy Russ, who's here from espn.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes.
Alan Hahn
You see the spot he had this morning?
Peter Rosenberg
No.
Alan Hahn
This is a hardcore New York Nick lifer. You talk about getting there in time to get a spot.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, the spot, you mean?
Alan Hahn
Yeah, like his spot on the parade.
Peter Rosenberg
He said he caught me in a moment.
Alan Hahn
Yeah. Did you send me the moment? Is this the moment with him in here? No, I, I need the Han moment, too.
Peter Rosenberg
He sent me the moment. And, And I, I, I, I was definitely having some, Some moments where I.
Don La Greca
You're in your feels.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, I was in my feels. Like, I froze a couple of times just looking at it, just saying to myself, like, wow. I just kept telling myself, just, wow. If I could take this moment, though, to just gratitude for MSG.
Don La Greca
There it is. We're showing it on YouTube for putting
Peter Rosenberg
me on a float like that. You know, that's a dream come true, right? For a kid like me who just. I couldn't afford to sit in the blue seats back in the 80s. Like, I couldn't afford to be in the building. And I grew up watching MSG Network and watching all the coverage of those games. Bernard King and Patrick Ewing and the bomb squad and the Pat Riley era, like that. I couldn't, I couldn't go in. We didn't have watch parties in 94.
Alan Hahn
I went to Charlie O.
Peter Rosenberg
Like, I just hung out outside the building. I was one of those people. And we didn't have Internet. Wasn't like I was watching the game on any type of tablet outside the building. I had a transistor radio listen to the call on the radio. So I knew what the score was and when the games ended and when they won, like, we would just. It wasn't nothing like today, but to, to have that ability, to have the assignment of being on a float and being part of something like that and something like this that has brought the city together for me is an absolute honor and, and probably the greatest moment in my career.
Don La Greca
Yeah. And it's well deserved. And this is Don Legreco the fan, not Don Lagreca the media guy, is that. I appreciated that because if you follow the Knicks, you know Mike Breen, Clyde Frazier, Alan Hahn, Wally Zerbiak, Bill Pedo, Monica McNutt, Tyler Murray, Pat O'. Keefe. It's part of the experience because if you watch or listen to every game, they're part of the journey. They're a part of it. You know, when I was growing up, the Mets won. You know, Bob Murphy and, you know, it was a part of it. Like, call his call on the radio. I had to go back after I watched it because obviously the game was on national television, you know, to listen and get that on tape, because I wanted to hear what. Bob Murphy had been with the team forever, since the very beginning, what he had to say when the Mets finally won. You know, the same thing with the Rangers. Like, Sam, like, that game was on national tv, but MSG got to call it. So Sam Rosen's call lives forever. That's all part the of of it, man. You are a part of this experience for Knick fans and you belong on that float. It's the greatest, terrific job.
Peter Rosenberg
It was really the greatest experience of my career. I can't imagine anything topping that. Today is like the pinnacle for me, just being part of it. I just can't be any more grateful to Kevin Meininger for adding me to the list of people that got to be part of that and do interviews. And again, I haven't seen any of it yet. I have no idea how any of these came out. Some of them I couldn't hear a thing the player was saying, but I'm looking forward to watching it back and reliving it because in the moment it was just, it was so much fun. Again, Ariel Hog po took the microphone from me and just started interviewing me. And one of the things I heard him say to me was, you're a champion. Like he said that to me and I'm just like, no, no, you're a champion. And he goes, no, we are champions. Listen, that was something you might cringe,
Don La Greca
but listen, it's the greatest cringe you're ever going to see in your life because you did an amazing job. ESPN New York's live coverage of the New York Knicks World Championship celebration is brought to you by Tickpick, Amazon Hub Delivery, Michelob Ultra Slowman's, ZipRecruiter, Nissan Calandra's Bakery, Thrivewell, Infusion, Parisman Firm, Verizon and New Era. More of your calls coming up at 1-800-919-3776. Hope to see Bill Pedo swing by. Has anybody captured Tyler Murray? Hopefully they went back and got him off the street. Whatever you got to do. Don La Greca
You're on. Don Ana Rosenberg. What's up buddy?
Caller/Listener
My guys, man. Yo you guys, I've had a fantastic day. I didn't make it to the parade because on Twitter the police department put by 7:30 that if you didn't, you weren't there. Now don't even bother coming. Yeah, but I saw everything on abc. You know, I want to give Peter a shout out. Pete, that was a tremendous take Mandani speech, man. Yo bro, I got goosebumps with my diamond speech. I had tears coming down because he truly reflected what all we are every New Yorker, including you. See by the way, Pete, I don't belong to social media. So you don't have to worry about me putting anything out there. I love you guys. I told you that before. Number I'm the one that said I hope you get back for another, you know, Hot 97, man. You know what I'm saying?
Alan Hahn
Oh, that's right.
Don La Greca
Yes, I remember you.
Peter Rosenberg
We like him here, you know what I'm saying?
Caller/Listener
So I got, I got mad love for you. And my I don't know about Yahweh doesn't like gossip. My God, your God doesn't like gossip. I'm not that type of person. But I want to give flowers to Dawn. I want to give flowers to Han on the guy that spoke before reflecting how we all feel about you. You are true champion. You are part of that championship. You are the voice of the New York Knicks, man. You are awesome. Another thing, the other take what you did, Pete, another shout out on you, man. When you called the list, the player list, and you said. I don't know if you said five or 10, the top five or 10 players, Bunsen would shoot up like a phoenix on that list. And I know that's what you meant. So I love you guys. Keep it up, man. Don, I love you, Don. You've been with us for 30 plus years, man. I'm 63. I've been listening to you for 30 plus years, man. I love everybody.
Alan Hahn
God bless.
Caller/Listener
God bless.
Peter Rosenberg
Gilbert, by the way, if we could take this moment. Peter.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
This man's shirt today.
Don La Greca
Oh, look at him.
Peter Rosenberg
Orange.
Alan Hahn
The blue, the. The orange is paisley. Subtly in there, fit.
Don La Greca
What goes?
Peter Rosenberg
Gorgeous.
Alan Hahn
I mean, look at this shirt.
Peter Rosenberg
Donnie.
Alan Hahn
I know.
Don La Greca
Robert Graham has helped me step up my game.
Peter Rosenberg
The sheen of this. Thank you. Damn.
Don La Greca
Good one with orange pole.
Peter Rosenberg
How good is Don legreca's shirt day? Look at this shirt this man's wearing. Beautiful.
Alan Hahn
The man's gorgeous.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
Unfortunately, no one in this room can hear us, but I. I love it.
Peter Rosenberg
No one can hear it.
Alan Hahn
It's like barely. It's barely audible. Fortunately, on YouTube and radio, it's all.
Don La Greca
That's where it's really good show we're doing.
Alan Hahn
I. I think it's tremendous.
Don La Greca
Two out of three ain't bad. And I guess the one we lost is the one you want to lose if you have to.
Alan Hahn
Unless for the people standing here, they're
Don La Greca
just going, why is there seem like they're having a good time watching our lips?
Peter Rosenberg
Everybody's having a good time in here at Stout.
Don La Greca
All right, now they hurt.
Alan Hahn
A few of them hurt.
Don La Greca
Well, since we're throwing a lot of love to Alan, how about Josh in New Jersey? You're on espn, New York. What do you got? Josh.
Peter Rosenberg
All right, Josh in the car.
Alan Hahn
Hey, Josh.
Peter Rosenberg
Or Josh.
Caller Josh
There we go. Hey, guys, can you hear me?
Don La Greca
Yes.
Caller Josh
Oh, are we doubling up?
Caller/Listener
Hey, guys, how you doing?
Peter Rosenberg
Why not? Why not? Group call. Let's go. We'll do a conference call. Both jobs.
Caller Josh
Who's first?
Peter Rosenberg
You guys take. Just go. Anybody? Just go.
Don La Greca
And then we lose both of them because we just can't.
Caller/Listener
I wanna.
Alan Hahn
I have to tell you, that was the moment for you guys.
Peter Rosenberg
You know, all they were going to do is just be nice to me and we just. We lost both.
Caller/Listener
We.
Alan Hahn
Both of them.
Peter Rosenberg
All right, how back?
Caller/Listener
How about you?
Alan Hahn
How about you go to Will in Connecticut? There's only one Will.
Caller/Listener
Hey, I'm here.
Alan Hahn
Hey, Will, what do you got?
Peter Rosenberg
Thanks for taking the call, guys.
Caller/Listener
Listen, listen, listen, listen. Dixon 5. I wanted to say that I'm so excited. I left my house. I left my house 2:30 this morning to get down to the parade.
Wow.
Now I get down. I. I didn't want to drive to the city. I mean, I drove to the Bronx. It took me an hour and a half to buy parking. Nonetheless, I get on the six, I go all the way down to City Hall. I get there 6:45, right? I get out needing a. A car full of just other Knicks fans. Soon as we come up the stairs, we're like, bruh. We turn around. Look, it was packed. The line to get in was wrapped around the block going down the street. So obviously we can't go to the. To see the part, to see the parade. However, that whole attitude was like, well, we here anyway. Let's just have a ball.
Peter Rosenberg
There you go.
Caller/Listener
I met so many people. I had so much fun. I took so many pictures. And it was like everybody understood that we weren't going to be able to see the parade. We'll watch it on our phones or whatever. There was no frustration. Everybody was understanding. Everybody was like, no problem. Excuse me, Excuse me. Pardon me.
Excuse me. What?
Peter Rosenberg
Yep, I loved it.
Caller/Listener
The energy was beautiful. Well, I ended up leaving.
Huh?
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
No, go ahead, finish the story.
Caller/Listener
Oh, I end up leaving. I end up leaving. Going back to the Bronx, watching the parade at a Royalty restaurant. But, Alan, before I go, I want to tell you about the transition radio and how you, Monica, Peto, Wiley, now Novak, Rosenberg, Han and Bidan. Yo, I'd rather turn my TV on, watch the game and listen to y' all instead of the commentator. No disrespect to them, but I know how much y' all and y' all are part of the organization.
Peter Rosenberg
Thank you.
Caller/Listener
And that's real talk.
Peter Rosenberg
Thank you, Will. You know what I was hearing, Will? Oh, we lost Will. Well, I was gonna like that, that I. I ran over to a side street because the people that couldn't get to the Broadway part and we were still getting set up just to see a whole crowd of people. Somebody was yelling for me. I went up and, like, the one guy stopped and he did the we outside to me. And it's like that's all that really mattered, right? All right, maybe we're not in front in the front row. We still outside.
Alan Hahn
Like, everybody wanted to be outside together.
Peter Rosenberg
Party over here.
Don La Greca
Just being a part of it. Whether you're in the front row, way in the back, side street, we just.
Peter Rosenberg
It's such a good.
Don La Greca
You're still feeling it. All right. The Josh's are back.
Peter Rosenberg
All right, one at a time.
Alan Hahn
Yeah. Please pick, please pitch us one.
Don La Greca
Josh in New Jersey. You're on ESPN New York. What's up, Josh?
Caller/Listener
Hey, guys.
How's it going?
Caller Josh
Thanks for taking the call.
Don La Greca
Always.
Caller Josh
So listen, you know, I feel like I'm in between the guy that got a really good experience and then the people that couldn't make the parade.
Caller/Listener
I had a good spot.
Caller Josh
I got to see a lot of good things. And the thing that really stood out to me was when I saw Alan,
Peter Rosenberg
I saw you on Josh Hart's float
Caller Josh
and I have a video of it too. You just taking in the experience of coming down Broadway. It was absolutely amazing. And really, it really brought me.
Caller/Listener
It got me emotional.
Caller Josh
I'm almost emotional right now.
Peter Rosenberg
But send it to me, please.
Caller Josh
It was. I got you, Alan. It was amazing. And listen, thank you for everything you've done this season. Monica Tyler, everybody.
Caller/Listener
Ray Jolie.
Caller Josh
I know Jolie is behind the scenes, everybody. Man, you guys are awesome.
Don La Greca
Thank you so much.
Caller Josh
And I can't wait to see you guys at the beach bash.
Don La Greca
Thanks a lot, Josh.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, yeah, come out. Come out for sure.
Don La Greca
Glass. Josh said that because we're giving a lot of love obviously to the television and the radio people that were on the air. But he shouted out, ray, Ray Santiago. He was here earlier today doing both Rangers and Knicks all year. A lot of times. Three games in one day, a Saturday afternoon, a Saturday night, you know, quick turnarounds. And he does the morning show for us.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh yeah.
Don La Greca
On, you know, the Rick and Dave show in the morning. So sometimes he's on no sleep and how hard he works, you know, Dan Grassa, who would fill in for Pat o' Keefe sometimes, you know, doing the pre and the post game show. Sometimes he would have to do both the Rangers and the Knicks when Pat would. Might have to fill in for Tyler on Knicks. So there's a lot of people that maybe that aren't actually involved in the game itself, but a lot of the people that are on the air that are doing pre and post and all the people behind the scenes, board ops, you know, like, like the Joe Leo, Julian Kushnik, my man Boombaka. So there's a lot of people that are. That are doing a lot of work during the course of a season to be able to give you the coverage that you're talking about. A lot of these people make you look good, make you sound good.
Caller/Listener
Please.
Peter Rosenberg
No question.
Don La Greca
Got to give a lot of love to those people as well. The Other Josh. Is Josh in the car. And you're on ESPN New York.
Alan Hahn
Hey, Josh.
Caller/Listener
Hey, fellas. Absolutely fantastic cover.
Peter Rosenberg
Thank you so much for everything you've done for us the last couple weeks.
Don La Greca
It's been awesome.
Alan Hahn
Thanks, man.
Don La Greca
Josh.
Alan Hahn
God bless you.
Don La Greca
We didn't lose Josh. I think he wanted to say more than that.
Peter Rosenberg
He gave us a thank you, but I.
Alan Hahn
But I thought it was really kind.
Don La Greca
Well, you know what? It was genuine.
Alan Hahn
It was genuine. He brought it in and out. He's not there for anything else.
Peter Rosenberg
Listen, cell services, everybody will tell you in this. On this island right now, a little spotty at times. Little spot.
Don La Greca
Evan, on Long Island. You're on ESPN New York.
Peter Rosenberg
Strong Island.
Caller/Listener
Yo, fellas. What's going on? What's up? Actually, my first time calling in.
Peter Rosenberg
Love it. Where is Long Island?
Caller/Listener
Evan.
Peter Rosenberg
Evan, come on. You can't just say Long Island. You got to give me a town.
Caller/Listener
Yeah, I'm in Freeport. I'm in Freeport.
Peter Rosenberg
All right. Love it. Freeport. Flavor Flavetown.
Alan Hahn
There you go.
Caller/Listener
You know, I've been listening to you guys forever, and this is my first time calling in, and that's on me. And it takes the Knicks championship for me to call in. But I was unfraid. And I just feeling all the vibes and feeling good. Just wanted to call in and say how much I love you guys. You know, enjoy all the time listening to you. You know, Alan, I was bummed. I missed you. Like, I had one of those stories. I made it out flat out. I think I got mad lucky. It was about 6:20. I made it to off the train, made it downtown, and I was on this ridiculous line that roped around like three blocks and they opened up another street with check ins and I was able to just kind of skirt in Nice. And I made it to Broadway.
Was able to see so much.
One of my favorite moments was I loved Mitch solo on his truck.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes.
Caller/Listener
Cameraman just falling out, having a blast.
Peter Rosenberg
Wasn't that so, Mitch?
Caller/Listener
It was.
It was so classic.
Peter Rosenberg
Yep.
Caller/Listener
Yo, Alan, I. I missed. I was bummed. I was looking for you. I. I didn't spot you through the. All the chaos and just all the love that was going on. But I wanted to know. You were talking about what you were going to ride with, what you were going to wear, and I wanted to. I was looking for you and just see what your vibe was, what your outfit came out to be.
Peter Rosenberg
It was terrible.
Caller/Listener
But I miss you.
Peter Rosenberg
But Evan, I appreciate you, man. It was terrible. I panicked this morning. I went I had. I had mirror anxiety. I like nothing. The white. The white shirt and black pant thing. I said, you look like an old man trying to look young, Pete.
Alan Hahn
Why?
Peter Rosenberg
Because it was a white. White crispy. White polo.
SleepScore Advertiser
Right?
Peter Rosenberg
Crispy. That fit perfect.
Alan Hahn
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
Black pants.
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
White sneakers. Crisp. Looked in the mirror, I went, no, no, you look like the old. The old guy trying to look young.
Alan Hahn
The white. Matching white. It just didn't work.
Peter Rosenberg
It was just too. It was too like. It's like, no, you're. You're too old for this.
Alan Hahn
Let me just lean into the.
Peter Rosenberg
So I went, all right. Let me just go, khakis in the blue and call it a day. And then I'm like. I left. And as I'm sitting on the train, I'm going, what did I just do?
Alan Hahn
No, but I'm telling you, I was watching, like, what? And Monica didn't overdress either. So when they cut back and forth to both of you, you both looked kind of casual. But you're outside on a float at a party. I understand where people are shirtless, but
Peter Rosenberg
we made a thing of this. And. And I could have done it better. I had a nice. I had a blue linen I could have done, but I was worried about the heat.
Alan Hahn
I disagree. I'm not fighting this guy.
Don La Greca
I.
Alan Hahn
Great.
Peter Rosenberg
All right, well, I appreciate that.

I got bad news. Well our Bosnian listeners, it's a long day.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, it's three nothing. It's a long three nil. Three nil.
Alan Hahn
Switzerland is packing it on now and at this exact time the Swiss are
Peter Rosenberg
not being neutral here.
Alan Hahn
That is not. No, no they're not. They're very much on the offensive. Yeah, and at 24 hours from now
Don La Greca
we will be in the middle of it.
Alan Hahn
I'll be at Calandras of course in Caldwell watching Team usa. I got to tell you guys, listen, I'll say this. I don't have like some sort of super high expectations but if the US Were to be, like, actually dominant again and really look great, I would say, say we. We might be facing that. We might be staring in the face that there's a conversation to be had. You know what I'm saying? Now, it doesn't mean anything because they're expected. The setup of World cup at this point is it's expected they'll get out of the group. Like, they've made it. It's like the playoffs in the na.
Don La Greca
It wasn't the group of death.
Caller/Listener
Right.
Alan Hahn
And there really is no group of death because now they've made it where so many get through. They expanded the field. It's a lot easier to get through. Honestly, it almost feels as if it was built that way for the US So them getting through is whatever. To me, though, if they play a few incredible games early on, you start to think, like, could they. There is a semifinal get. Certainly get to a quarterfinal, could that be there?
Peter Rosenberg
I was doing some reading up on this because I just wanted to catch up on what's going on. And there is a feeling that in at least pool play, they can be successful. It's when you get to quarterfinal, semifinal, I mean, now you're playing the best teams in the world. It's a really hard climb once you. Once you have to just keep beating, you know, the fifth best team in the world, the third best team in the world. But pool play, like this kind of knockout round for them, this. This is where. This is where they should get some success.
Alan Hahn
But. But that should have been true in previous World Cups and it never was. And it has.
Peter Rosenberg
That is correct.
Alan Hahn
So to see last Friday, to see them score four goals, and I'm not kidding, every one of those four goals looked more legitimate and like, well put together than any US Goals I've seen in ages. So, hey, let's tomorrow be fun to see if they can do it again.
Peter Rosenberg
I'll tell you this.
Alan Hahn
I'll be watching tomorrow. You're in.
Peter Rosenberg
I might watch Alan's birthday.
Alan Hahn
What are the birthday plans?
Don La Greca
Yeah. Can't top this.
Alan Hahn
Yeah. I mean, you were given the gift of all gifts.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. Yeah. Tomorrow is going to be the day of. I'll probably just float. Just in the pool. Float, drink, just. Just knock myself the hell out. You know what I mean? I mean, because honestly, like, now that it's done. Done, I have the draft next week. I still have Tuesday and Wednesday of the draft where I have to really put some work in. And, you know, I host the draft every year. This is my going to be my fifth year now hosting on ESPN Radio and I'll have to put some work in but for the most part this feels like for me like the end of the last day of school today felt like. And so I think tomorrow I'm just going to turn it into that. Just going to get a great dinner.
Alan Hahn
In addition to how it shut it down, in addition how fun it's been in addition to the fact that you grew up a fan and now you get to be a part of it. Just the level of work you've been on now though this whole playoffs. This is a six seven week run.
Don La Greca
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
Of really like you were doing just intense work.
Peter Rosenberg
Think about since March I, because I really have done a lot of get up from March 1 on. I did a couple in February, but really a lot in March and then April and then May, you know, twice, three times a week. June of course. Twice. Three times a week. That's a lot of early, early wake ups. A lot of late games because these games are. Once we got to the conference finals, everything was eight.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
8:30.
Google Chrome Advertiser
8.
Don La Greca
8:30.
Peter Rosenberg
So it's very little sleep. But this is, I mean why are we doing this? Like this is why we like this
Don La Greca
is what we want complain.
Peter Rosenberg
No, it's so I'd never, never complained. It's just hey if we're going to do it, let's see if we can get a, like can they win this thing? Because then it's all worth it. And that's why like I said, tomorrow is that day where I can, you know what? I, I, I will sleep soundly now at this point because there's nothing else to think about. Worry about. It is. It's just a beautiful place to be.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Don La Greca
You don't have to lose sleep for this show.
Caller/Listener
No.
Don La Greca
He could sleep when it's just when
Peter Rosenberg
we just have to do. When I just have to do this show and nothing else feels like a half day.
Caller/Listener
That's.
Alan Hahn
It's a vacation.
Peter Rosenberg
It's easy vacation. We're working with you two.
Alan Hahn
And that and that and that's and that's what will be fun if obviously if this summer because the Mets aren't going to give us a lot to talk about. The Yankees are.
Caller/Listener
Yep.
Alan Hahn
We're used to that.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
But if we got football and but if USA Soccer were to somehow give us a few weeks of fun. I don't hate you talk about bringing, bringing people together because no matter how much we all talk about how much interest is there if that team goes on a run I've always said this and you don't even disagree with me. They were to go on a big run. You start seeing numbers of 30 million people watching. 35 million people watching. It could be pretty epic. Those are Nick. NBA Finals numbers. You know what I'm saying? That's another crazy storyline. The fact that they revolute. I mean Don, they literally the. The Knicks being in this final. I mean it turned the ratings on their head for. For it. For Disney.
Don La Greca
Yeah. First time nearly 30 years to be able to get those kind of numbers. Bosnia has scored.
Peter Rosenberg
It's 31 to make it 31 extra time.
Don La Greca
He's sure. Siegenthaler and Meyer have scored for team Swiss.
Peter Rosenberg
But, but you know what, Pete, what you were saying about the ratings. You got to go back to the
Don La Greca
last dance at Jordan.
Alan Hahn
That's right.
Peter Rosenberg
Like that 98 finals was the last dance. That was the Michael Jordan, the end of the Chicago Bulls. And that, that had the epic. Everybody, the whole world watched that Finals.
Alan Hahn
You mean this?
Peter Rosenberg
There's been. Yeah, there's been no finals that has drawn more eyeballs since then.
Alan Hahn
And think about this one. Not only are you going back to the greatest player of all time who captivated the country, beyond that, the world. The world. Think about how divided now we are in terms of how we consume content. People don't sit and watch TV the same way. People don't sit through live events.
Peter Rosenberg
Not watching live. Yeah.
Alan Hahn
So the fact that it's retro not to 2017, not to 20, not to LeBron.
Peter Rosenberg

Alan Hahn
In Cleveland, Golden State. Go back to Jordan.
Peter Rosenberg

Alan Hahn
I mean this team. Oh boy. By the way, it really makes an argument age badly when, when we were on Get Up Together and a God, God love him. The legend, a wonderful gem of a man. Michael Wilbon was saying, hey, they're not the Lakers, they're not the Celtics. Mike. Yeah, they are. I tried to tell the popularity.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, they are like they don't sell like those teams do. I go, my man, they're number one in sales right now in the NBA. And he's like, no, they're not.
Alan Hahn
I check the numbers and they already this week have set every fanatics record humanly possible unreal for merchandise sales.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, and by the way. And you want to add now the social media aspect of all this. 15 billion views on NBA Finals content. 15 billion views of NBA Finals content.
Alan Hahn
Did you guys hear that tomorrow Josh and Jalen are doing a roommate show.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes. The Garden at the Garden Theater.
Caller/Listener
And.
Alan Hahn
And they're going to air it on linear espn.
Peter Rosenberg
It's gonna be on television tomorrow.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
I mean, this is just.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. Six o' clock at the Garden. I said it's my birthday. I'm not gonna make it.
Alan Hahn
That's.
Peter Rosenberg
But that's 6pm I'm gonna be floating.
Alan Hahn
Oh, people can be floating tomorrow.
Peter Rosenberg
