C
Our number three coffee number three coffee number three.
B
No, no, I stopped at two.
C
But you go to the restroom every break.
B
Well, I'm drinking water. I hydrate before I hydrate.
C
Me, too.
B
But I'm also getting in my 30s.
C
Now and trying to get the steps in.
B
More like, you know, just. Just different frame.
D
Yeah, that bladder making him get them steps in.
C
How old are you?
B
We got tight hamstrings. Born in 1990.
C
Okay, so you're 35.
B
Yeah.
C
When's your birthday?
B
Half birthday's Christmas. You like how well?
C
No, because we're trying to on day number two, get the people to know you more. You're not sharing a lot personally.
B
Yeah.
C
Like you said, your mime. Your mom chimed in yesterday. Shout out to her.
B
Yeah, yeah.
C
You've got a girlfriend, you said. How long you guys been together?
B
We've been together. Coming up on two years of summer.
C
Nice.
B
About 18.
C
When you say coming up on two years this summer, you realize the summer is six months away.
B
I mean, who says 18 months, though?
C
We're coming up on two years.
B
Well, you adult. You adult date and then you ask her to be your girlfriend.
C
So, you know, nice lady, thinking about marrying her.
B
We're in our mid-30s, my friend.
C
Don't do the pusick and settle for getting engaged on, like, a New Year's Eve thing.
E
Because, again, like, not a thing that's happening.
C
Women don't like Anthony.
B
When's it happening?
E
Not. Not when Ty's saying it.
D
Ty's gonna get everybody in trouble with their significant other.
E
Ty has learned the Dave Rothenberg method of just overshare and just overdo.
C
Well, we're just trying to. We're doing a get to. We got talk about it Tuesday coming up in a. So, you know, I want people to know you. You're gonna be a prominent. Hopefully a prominent voice on the station.
B
Oh, thanks.
C
The tandem's coming along. Well, you're an MSG star, so I want the people who see you on television to get a peep into the personal life of Alex Monaco.
B
Well, the Padres, Mets thing, just. You grow up with three religions and two parents, you're already confused.
C
That didn't work out for you. Social media. And you've got to Instagram. You should consolidate the Instagram.
B
I know you think I got a Kevin Durant burner over here.
C
I just confused Chirping people. I'm like, what am I getting myself into with this guy? It's just my.
B
My moneyline Monaco page. Is the page all betting with synonymous with the podcast. That is things like last night when there's a clear defensive pass interference or Puka gets two feet in on the catch of the year and they don't call it correctly and I need to address it goes on that page and.
C
Then the other page.
B
Just normal photos, msg.
C
Any, like, personal stuff?
B
Not really a selfie guy. Maybe three in my life. One of them was yesterday with you and Anthony.
C
Oh, okay. Well, Jacob, he's known for doing the whole bathroom selfie.
D
Yeah, I knew you was going there with that one.
C
That's his.
B
That's bathroom selfie guy.
C
Yeah, he's a big bathroom.
D
Listen, I see him, I see a mirror. I got to catch the fit.
B
Back in my day of helping in the best way I can on the hitch side of things with boys on dating apps, I'd say, number one thing, take off the gym selfie or the bathroom. It's a tough. It's a tough sell.
C
Really? You think so?
B
Well, again, you're in excellent shape. So it may. It might not work out. You know, might work for him, but.
C
In general, I don't think he's got any issues. When you go back to, like, his. What he's shown to us on social media. My boy's living life. He's doing his thing. He's doing well.
B
I just think in general, I don't know if guys. A guy selfie. Is it. Is it even wanted out there?
C
That's an interesting question.
B
Maybe we get some. No one's upset at a girl selfie.
C
Well, listen, you know who, you know who? I would love to hear their take on this because this person literally never posts on social media. Anthony Pusick. How are you, my man? You go to his page, it's dry. Like, dry as a desert. What's the reason behind that? What's the point of having social media if you're never gonna post all for the.
E
All for the work. Just. Just for work.
B
That's a grinder.
C
What. But what does that mean, for work?
E
Retweet the. I put up the stories from ESPN New York, the hr.
C
So you put it on your personal. Yeah, media.
E
He's about to holiday party. I put up a lot of that stuff. The stuff that Jake did, the office Christmas stuff was hilarious.
C
Great.
E
That was really good.
C
But what if people want to see you?
E
They don't need to see me.
C
So you're one of like.
B
He is funny and very quick though it would.
C
He's great. He's a tremendous talent. And he's hosting enn. He does very kind of L binge. He's the ranger guy at the station. It used to be Don, but Don's got the devil's job now. Shout out to him. He's done tremendous, tremendous job with him.
F
Oh, yeah.
C
So I think we need to see more of it. Maybe that's a 2026 New Year's resolution.
B
I'll drink less coffee and you'll post.
C
We need. Listen, we need a bathroom selfie coming from that control room. So if Jacob's just gonna retire from that, maybe Anthony starts the bathroom selfie.
E
I have to get tips from Jacob.
C
On how to make angle all about angles and, you know, lighting.
B
Anthony, if you start posting those, I'll start working on my hamstrings.
E
Okay. All right, I'll tag you in them too, Alex.
C
How about that? What happens first? A Jet winning season or an Anthony Pugh success selfie on IG Was this Kirk Cousins contingent?
E
Listen, with Kirk Cousins, we're looking at, we're looking at wild card possibilities.
C
We're in the hunt.
E
We're in in the hunt graphics in December.
C
Listen, more than in the hunt, Alex is trying to sell us on a 12 and 5 Kirk Cousins season on.
B
An 86 and 77 career passer rating 97.3 quarterback.
C
Realize he's turning 38 next year. It's.
B
It's just a bridge.
C
And Atlanta didn't even think it was good enough. The only reason why he's starting is because the Pentax got hurt.
B
Atlanta's got to be a top three most frustrating franchise to roof.
C
And what are the Jets? If The Atlanta's top three, where are we putting the jets?
B
I might be QB1, might be QB1, but I'm trying to help. I'm coming in with low self esteem. Had lost a football team, didn't pick another one, ironically. And so I look at the football world a little clearer than I would in other sports. Very emotional.
C
You know what? I. You know how I feel about your Kirk Cousins take.
B
Yeah. Talk to me. You don't want it.
C
Listen, I'm not like, it's not my first option.
B
I teed it up though, Ty, by saying it's not. Do I be glamorous? Because it's not. He's not. I mean, what are you.
C
If you compare him, he's not sexy. Let's just call it he's the Opposite.
B
Of a sports car. This guy wears a flannel on a Saturday with his shirt tucked in. But guess what? He's in bed by 9:30 Eastern. Probably reading for pleasure. Being a great pops and studying film, that's all you need.
C
But it's just like Kirk Cousins. Is that what I want to do?
B
You think I wanted to bring this up? This was just as hard to plug Kirk Cousins as it was for you to hear it.
C
800-919-3776, Jim. And Rockland takes exception to your Steelers prediction. What's up, Jim?
F
How you guys doing? I really have to ask. Do you legitimately think the Steelers are a Super bowl contender or is this just a hot take to get me to pull the car over and call you guys?
C
Oh man, Jim.
B
I'm on them in August. Why would I be off him on the 30th of December? And what did I say?
F
They proven they. Because they've proven to you that they're barely above a.500 team, which they hadn't done yet in August, but they have done in December. Did you just watch them lose? Score six points against a very mediocre at best Cleveland? Would you even say Cleveland's mediocre?
B
Well, Cleveland at home is a sensational defense this season.
C
Oh, they just gave up 35 to Buffalo.
B
I'm saying thank you in division.
C
They lost to the Jets.
B
Okay. But this is the Shedeur Sanders, Cleveland Browns. Don't get me. I've been a shadow guy since August as well. Jim, we're going to sit here and forget. What is this 10 second Tom from 50 First Dates that you didn't go into Detroit and end their season. Take their soul while you're at it.
F
Hang on a second. I've, I've listened to you say you have no confidence from. From a lifetime of being burned by the Chargers. You have no confidence in the Chargers. This is the same Charger team that boat raced the Steelers out in San Diego boat race.
B
That was an old school AFC early 2000s game. One team barely cleared 20, the other had 10. That was a defensive first half under slam. I remember. If I remember it was. It was 3:2, Pirates, Padres after 1 3:2.
F
I think to quote Roger Clemens, you're misremembering. It's not what it was. It was. That was controlled them the entire game.
B
Yeah, see, I love, I appreciate you.
F
Saying San Diego has a much. Pittsburgh has a much better chance of not making the playoffs than they do.
C
Of winning the Super.
F
Bob would say that that's Then they do of making a run, then they do of winning a playoff game, Jim.
B
You rattle off a win against Baltimore in Baltimore, then you beat Miami, then you beat Detroit, all without T.J. watt. And then we're just going to sit here with no DK Metcalf, no TJ Watt in a brutal spot again. Aaron Rodgers is an older guy. It was brutal weather. He's got a fractured left hand, not nothing.
C
But wouldn't that I'm going to, wouldn't those be all the reasons why you don't think they're going to make a run? You've got an older quarterback with a fractured hand.
F
You just named all the reasons why.
B
Pittsburgh, Metcalf going to be in the playoffs.
F
Pittsburgh won't be in the playoffs.
B
I'll tell you one thing. Nobody had Pittsburgh winning the division. Nobody had Pittsburgh winning the division.
C
That's a great phone call, Jim. That's a great phone call.
B
I took a long shot. I didn't take the chalk. I just so happened to be four months later still standing.
C
No, you should be because you got a shot go down. Listen, listen. I think sometimes in this bit, even the young cat that I am, I can give advice sometimes. Sometimes in this business there are people who hop off of a take too quickly. Just go down with the take.
B
I'm going, I'm going down with Pittsburgh.
C
There's a 1% chance that it happens. Give yourself that 1% chance so that if it does happen, you didn't have to like reverse course and go back to it. So I feel you, man. I just think that if you're describing a team you think could go on a run, what doesn't help you is old quarterback, fractured hand.
B
I was just saying in bad weather, rivalry game in an outdoor spot without your number one asset and your number one asset on defense. I just, I marvel at people going way too dramatic off of one week of football. Ty, who is great this season in the National Football League, week in, week out, give me a single team, the Patriots, all three phases.
C
The Patriots.
B
Patriots have still had a couple in this Patriots team lose to the Raiders.
C
Yeah, week one didn't win on a ten game losing streak.
B
There is a lot of good, not a lot of great. And we got a guy who's a four time MVP, who takes impeccable care of the football, who has done time and time again game winning drives, unbelievably clutch talent. All I'm asking is for Pittsburgh defense to be what they've been under. Tomlin, that was my take all the way through the season. And they got a shot every single Pacino. Sunday this January.
C
Guess who we have on the line. Our guy Cass, who has a tremendous job, man, 7pm in Brooklyn. He's got the. He's got, you know, the wrestling podcast. He's talking hip hop. He's doing his thing all over the place. But unfortunately, he was also in attendance for that miserable Chat Patriot game that he took his daughter there for our first game. Had to leave before halftime. My man Kaz is on the show. What's up, Kaz?
G
What's good, Tom? What's good, Alex? Good to catch y'. All. Hope. Hope your holidays is good. Happy early days, new year, all that good stuff. Yeah, man. I was at MetLife this past weekend and, you know, it's my second time taking her over there. First time we went with the SummerSlam this past year for night one. She had a blast. And she's always driving past the stadium saying, I can't wait to go back to stadium. Can't wait to go back to the stadium. So my boyfriend Cisco, shout out to him. He hits me Saturday night like, yo, got some jets tickets. Only just saying, I really know. Are you trying to roll? And I say, yeah, of course. I mean, you know, it's a little cold. I'll see what the snow is on. Look alike. But, you know, it's not too crazy. Yeah, let's roll. So, you know, we get there and, you know, the fireworks is going off. And mind you, I'll know you guys, I'm pretty sure you guys don't have kids yet, but when you do, I.
B
Got two father too. I'm learning from both of you over here.
G
Okay? All right, so there you go. So it wasn't just like, hey, let's, let's, let's tailgate. Let's do the whole shebang. I put the tweet out and all my followers, like, you know, you could have got to the game a little bit earlier. She would have had a good time. It's like, no, it doesn't work like that. You don't tailgate with four year olds. Like, you just. You get there when the action starts going. So we get there. Mind you, the seats are phenomenal, right? We're in like section 103. I want to say, like, right? Flex on them, let them know, fantastic seats, right? And we're going there. But so to be fair, we get to the top and she's like, daddy hungry. I'm like, all right, let's get some popcorn. Let's get some hot dogs, let's go out there. I hear two loud ass cheers. I'm thinking it's just, I'm like, okay, all right, jets probably big plays, whatever. The more I look around, the more I just see lots and lots of Patriots jerseys. I'm like, this definitely wasn't a Jets play. By the time I get down to the seats after the popcorn and hot dog has been handled, 14 nothing. I think it's not even like eight minutes into the first quarter. And you know, and she's great and she enjoys it, but at the same time it's a lot of people, a lot of unruly Patriots fans cursing the hoon in the Hollywood. I mean Drake May was playing a hell of a game. He threw a damn near perfect game. Five touchdowns, didn't miss a beat. Like they had all the reason to talk they trash. But with a four year old, he's just like, oh man, this is aggressive. You know, we're sitting there chilling and the score just keeps running up and running up. And we get to the middle of the second quarter and Ruby looks at me, she's like, daddy, let's go home. I'm like, you know what?
C
Sounds like a good idea.
B
Perfect time.
G
Keep the traffic out.

So I teed this up to Ty. You're a diehard jets fan born and raised and I got to get your honest and again, you know I'm from the land where I lost a football team. Recovering San Diego Chargers fan. Back to the throwback days where the jets own the Chargers in the playoffs. I digress on that. My take here to just pitch you. I'm not saying this is a franchise fixer for the future years, plural. I'm just selling you on a bridge season with a guy who can come in and be an adult. A consummate professional. And I'm talking about a guy who's 86 and 77 in his career who just out foxed Matt Stafford last night. Cass, if the jets go franchise quarterback top five this year, back him up with Kirk Cousins. I'm sorry, I'm cringing a little with the line. Can you get behind a one year Kirk Cousins jets turn it around with the future of the team sitting behind him learning every step of the way for a Jets turn it around here next year. What say you Alex?
G
You know how much I love you bro. You're a wonderful human bro. I will, I will submerge you in water until you try and get me Kurt Cousin as my quarterback.
B
Again. What? What is out there in this draft not named Mendoza that we think is going to be a home run?
C
But here's the thing.
G
How many bridge quarterbacks do you want? Like the jets have been the home of the bridge quarterback for the past 12 years every year we got the defense, we got a running back. Okay, but here's my weapons out there. If we get an adult in the room, they'll be okay.
B
The father, the pops. I'm talking to two fathers here. I'm arguably the least adult in the room here. I am if you need okay Aaron Glenn over his head goes a completely different defensive scheme. As a defensive guy moves off of play calling, hires Wilkes. Incorrect hire, fires him. Okay, what is really the perfect formula for the Jets? It would be what Vrabel just did. Obviously, you don't have a Drake made, but the point is defensive guy, Frable Glenn, you focus on the defensive side. You get an offensive coordinator, an offensive specialist that can handle that side. You focus on the defense. Defense A la Josh McDaniels. I don't know if Tanner's going to work there as the play caller, but Kirk Cousins coaches himself. If you're going to sit here with a guy who was handpicked by Mike Shanahan and was correct for a franchise that's been dysfunctional almost our whole life, you don't want this guy to come in and go, eight and nine, nine and eight.
G
Okay, the way you're shaping it, okay, the way you're shaping it is like, all right, as a Jets fan, 8 and 9 probably sounds like paradise right now, right? Like, just be average. Just be a team that's in the mix past Halloween and I'll be happier.
C
Right.
G
But at the same time, it's like you have a brand new head coach, a guy in Aaron Glenn who you already. The message you put out this season is, this is our guy. We're going to ride with him for at least the next three years and figure it out and see. And, you know, he's a homegrown franchise dude. Whatever. Whatever Woody and the guys thought about the jets, they seem to really like Aaron Glenn. He was great in Detroit. He's very charismatic, all that good stuff. The last thing you need to do is bring in another quarterback who has another voice in that room who sort of takes away from what you're developing with him. If we're talking about quarterback play, overall, quarterback play has been down throughout the league for years. So is somebody going to come in and. And throw for 3,000, maybe 4,000 yards, still be, like, decent? Probably not. Like the years of having guys like Roethlisberger and Breeze and Rogers and Brady and Manning and like, all those dudes throwing for like 4,000, 5,000 yards are long gone. What you do have, though, and even just looking at what's left in the playoffs this year is a team with some teams with great parts and capable quarterback play. And Kirk Cousins, God bless him, watch the Netflix show. I mean, just seems like an awesome dude to have in the locker room. Concert professional. Took a lot of. Took a lot of BS from the Atlanta stuff into Minnesota. Love Kirk Cousins as a guy, but as a Jets fan, man, I don't want to be sold. A dude who's been bouncing around who's basically a glorified Tannehill.
C
By the way, Kaz, a quarterback who Yesterday threw for 126 yards.
G
Alex is making not exactly light the world on fire.
C
Alex seemed like it was him. It was speech but.
B
But he was getting the wrong okay to put a butt.
G
That was my next question. It's like, yo, is Bijan Robinson coming with him?
B
What happened when he out dueled on the road Baker Mayfield on Thursday night a couple weeks ago? Again, I'm not saying he's coming in and taking you guys to the promised land. It's a dysfunctional organization. The Falcons. You can make a case of in relatively dysfunctional here's my thing.
G
Here's my thing. The Jets. I believe the jets had the right idea with Justin Fields. Right. He probably didn't work out as a player, but the idea is you want someone who's a little bit younger who maybe how many quarterbacks have we seen in the past year or two guys who have bounced around who probably were high draft picks that didn't necessarily pan out in the place that drafted them go somewhere and play some great ball. We've seen it with Donald, we've seen it with gosh, Jared Goff. We've seen it with like a lot of these. Very good. Yeah, Baker, you know what I mean? Like sometimes the place that drafts you isn't necessarily the place that you're going to end up having your best success. And on top of that, there's not really a quarterback out there that I want to pay a ton of money to, especially when my whole team needs. But what a revamp.
B
But what if there could be some Falcons dead cap, you know, a little bit of like the Broncos Giants scenario where they may be absorbed it because they want to go with Pennocks. It could be perfect timing. I'm looking at the free agency board, Jimmy G. Mitchell Palooza. Who else? Okay, maybe you could sell me on Malik Willis. Maybe outside of Malik Willis, in addition to a lackluster really not that glamorous quarterback draft class. This is why I'm selling Kirk. This is not an every year sell. This is just the timing of where we are and the fact that Glenn is so in over his head they just need him to focus because I don't think he can handle all three phases as a leader here. At least what we're watching. Let him go back to focusing on defense and go get a veteran to just balance this out while you maybe.
G
Get More out of it. You don't have to spend that first round pick on a quarterback. I don't think. I don't think the jets should spend the first round pick on a quarterback right now. I think Mendoza is a nice player, but to feel like, I mean he's gonna have to blow me away in like, you know, pre draft workouts and like all these things for me to feel like that's a dude who's gonna come in and be the next quarterback for the jets for the next 10, 12 years. And granted there's not a lot of those players running around like that anyway. I mean, just look down at the top quarterbacks that have been taken in the first round that either got released, got traded, got cut, you know, like it happens, right? And Mendoza in Indianapolis, I mean, gosh, he's got the aw shucks about him when he's talking on the post games. And him and Kirk Cous probably makes for some great, great tv, great locker room. I watch one jets drive with both of those guys talking as much as they can without cursing and it's probably fantastic television. But as far as football is concerned, if I'm Aaron Glenn and I'm getting a chance to have potentially two first round picks to really build in my image and this franchise is telling me that, yo, we believe in you. Go and build this team the way you see fit. May I feel more comfortable finding a gem in the street second or third round as quarterback and better off going up and getting somebody in the first round who's an impact player on the defensive side. If I'm Aaron Glenn and defense is my specialty. The jets are bad in every aspect of football. A decent quarterback, it probably won't even be enough to get them to 8 and 9. Like look at all the 8 and 9 teams out there, right? Like.
B
You and Kirk could be neighbors. Both in bed by 9:30. Watch studying ball. All ball. I just, I marvel at jets fans too. Good for a guy who's won almost 100 games in the league, who just beat Stafford and just beat Mayfield in the last month of work.
G
He did not beat Stafford. Robinson has left the league and all.
C
Listen, Cass, can I talk? Because I know, I know you were up against the clock quickly. I got to talk to you about a team that actually does win. And that's your New York. Thank you. OG Anunoby. The anniversary of that trade. So two years from now or two years ago, a lot of Nick fans sad to see RJ Barrett go. Emmanuel Quickley. But OG man, dude's a baller, might be an all star this year. Your team is fantastic favorites to come out the Eastern Conference. So I got to give you a Runway to just expound on that.
G
Yeah, man, I was one of those people two years ago. You know, Alex was there when we all first got to msg. I kind of feel like that was our class, right? Like Alex, you can tell when we first started working there, the RJ barrister, OBI toppins, Emmanuel Quickley's, Randall's. Like there was never like a special connection for that team, the we here Knicks, because you know, like they got us out of the doldrum. They got us out of the joke we were as a franchise and RJ Quickley were beloved in this, in this city, especially Quickley, you know, he was electric here. And RJ Barrett, you know, there's always a fondness for a guy that you take high in the draft and really have a belief in him. So trader for OG Anunoby. I mean a great player in Toronto, you know, and won the NBA championship with them even though he wasn't on the floor due to injury. So there was definitely lots of questions there, especially about his health and his ability to stay on the court. But for the most part, as a Knick, anytime he's on the court, the Knicks have a chance to win. I think. I don't know what the exact stat is, but I think he has like something like a 77% like win rate when he's on the court and starting. And like it's probably one of the top plus minuses in the history of the franchise because he's the true definition of a two way player. That was the trade that legitimately, ultimately for the first time, let me say I will never ever, ever distrust Leon Rose ever again. Like it was the definition of. You ever see that meme where like, you know, like Jesus is like holding a teddy bear and he has like a bigger teddy bear behind his back and the kids like, why are you taking my teddy bear? Like, yo, we have something great for you. If you just sort of trust me then OG Anunoby has been that you know how hard it is to have consideration as an NBA all Star when you're a third option on the team. Like it is. He's been unbelievable for the Knicks. He's, he's, I, I call him Diet Kawhi Leonard and the certain nights in the Garden. He looks like Kawhi. Absolutely. He's and same personality and everything, but I just think him and, and just it goes to show you that not a lot of players and teams, you can't go by the numbers. Like, he is such a. A chemistry and glue guy for that team that, like, you can look at the numbers and. And look at the highlights and just think he's good, but not until you see him every day. And what he brings as far as, like, shutting down other team's best players and hitting shots and being athletic enough to go and climb the mountain and dunk on whoever it is. Like, he's an unbelievable player. And I love me from RJ Barrett and Emmanuel Quickley, but when you have these trades like that, it has to go like this if you're gonna trade fan favorites. Like, the player you get back has to be fantastic. And I don't want it to sound so bad or be like a so loser. But, like, the guys you trade away kind of have to fall off a little bit. And unfortunately, RJ and Emmanuel Quickley haven't necessarily, you know, lit the world on fire in Toronto, even though they both got paid a ton of money. So you'll never hear Knicks fans comparing, complaining about what we gave up for RJ and Emmanuel Quickley. You'll never hear Knicks fans complain about what they gave up for Mikhail Bridges. Because the chemistry that this team has put together results in games like we saw last night, where they could play anybody, it seems like, and they have a fighting chance because they have the most clutch player in basketball and they have an identity about them that you got to kill them dead to beat them in an NBA basketball game. Because if it's any sort of coach and number 11 has the ball, it's over. Like, he is taking. He has a Derek Jeterness about him where it's like, if that dude is on the plate or has a chance to make a play to win the game, more than likely than not, he's gonna do it. And OG is a big part of that. So happy, happy trade anniversary to all the. The OG fans out there. And how about the Knicks guys? Let's go.
C
How about them Nicks? Cass? You could catch him on MSG. 7pm in Brooklyn. Holding it down with Mallow. You do a tremendous job. You know how I feel about you, bro. We'll talk again, man. We'll talk again as we progress through the season. I know you got some stuff you got to get to. So appreciate you calling in the show.
B
Yeah.
G
Back to the kids, man. You know what it is. Happy New Year, y'. All. It's always good hearing from y'. All. And, man, go Nicks and Jets. No. No more Kirk Cousins talk, please.
C
Hey.
A
Thanks for listening to the Don Han and Rosenberg podcast.
C
I didn't listen to anything you just said.
A
Catch the show on demand whenever you want. Just subscribe to us wherever you get your podcasts. Sometimes you just can't take it anymore. This is let's Talk About It Tuesday with Don Hahn and Rosenberg.
C
Talk about It Tuesday.
B
It's my first time.
C
Your first time? I did this last week. I don't even remember what it was. It might have been sick kids, parents, sick kids to school, which I mean, New Year's resolution. If you are a parent out there driving around looking for a New Year's resolution, stop sending your children to school with fevers. Ty Butler, Alex Monaco going till 6 o'. Clock. We'll get back to the Knicks at the top of the hour because I've got a take on them. The Yokich injury. Reframed one of my Knicks takes.
B
I'm fascinated to hear it.
C
So 25 minutes from now, we'll get to that. Talk about It Tuesday where we air grievances. We just get to have a conversation, you and I. No one's listening. Let's pretend no one's listening.
B
Well, the airing of grievances similar to Festivus.
C
Sure, sure. Therapeutic. Because it's been weighing on me and interestingly enough, showed up in my mentions last night because. And I want to find this person.
F
Yeah.
C
Just so I can.
B
So this is any kind of take.
C
Any, anything. It could be a sports take, it could be life. Something that bothered that is currently bothering you or at some point or another bothered you. And you just said, you know what, I've got to tell the world about it.
B
I got two. It's going to be real hard to eliminate one.
C
Or you can go with two. So I wanted to find the tweet from yesterday, but I can't find it. Someone in my mentions. Love the show. Love the show. Great question. They asked why is it not streaming live on YouTube every single day? This show stream live on YouTube. In fact, shout out to Spike and St. Pete who called earlier today and said, you know what? Not afraid to admit this. I don't have any, you know, qualms with my masculinity. This is the best looking show on radio. So you would think that the best looking show on radio should not just have their voices in cars, they should have their faces stream live on YouTube.
B
Little psycho cast.
C
I'm not coming at anyone personally. I'm not attacking anyone's character. Certainly not impugning anyone's reputation. But what I am saying is this show should be live on YouTube. It should be live on YouTube. We should be able to talk to the YouTube chat. We should be able to have our people up in the comments looking at. And I'm not saying this to be self aggrandizing. Spike and St. Pete said they should be able to look at our faces.
B
Spike's seen a lot of life too.
C
He's so again, not blaming anybody.
B
Appreciate the look.
C
All I'm saying is man should have been on YouTube. Then I asked one of the bosses, hey, we're not gonna stream live on YouTube. Can I go live on my own YouTube channel?
B
Right?
C
No. Just straight up, no. So. So you're handcuffing me. I've got my own YouTube channel. You don't want to stream us on your YouTube show, that's fine. No issues with that. Well, I do have an issue, which is why I've done five minutes on this. But fine. Can I go live on my own YouTube channel? Can we give the people. He said no.
B
We're letting down Spike handcuffed.
C
Not just Spike. I think we could have saw millions. This could have been the day.
B
You're saying we could go on to a billboard and not bomb, bro, we.
C
Could have blown up. Listen, all it takes is one executive to see you and there's your moment.
B
I like that.
C
Now is it a great idea for me to just have said that, you know, as I'm marketing myself for other people. No, not a great idea. But what I'm saying is sometimes you gotta look out for yourself. You feel me?
B
I feel you.
C
You understand that?
B
I understand that.
C
You don't have to deal with cause you're on msg, so you're already a superstar. I'm trying to get there, bro.
B
Listen, you're already there, baby. You welcome welcoming me in like a true point guard in your home. I appreciate it.
C
Is that a fair critique or do we have any problems with that? Anthony doesn't look too happy.
D
Anthony's super focused. He also has a job in show to protect. So we're not.
C
So he's a little annoyed by that. I'm sorry, Anthony. I didn't mean any harm.
B
Well, I got.
E
Once again Ty just lying.
C
I'm saying I didn't mean anything.
E
No harm. Okay, I love what you're saying. How about that?
C
Thank you.
B
Well, I'm gonna open this up to the room because I'm the only non New Yorker here. I'm always trying to get better as a SoCal soft person, which I'll wear okay. In the world in New York. And I have, I have a couple things I want to talk out because I don't play sports anymore. So the only athleticism I have left as being a pedestrian in Manhattan, moving and shaking. I call myself a little Barry Sanders. I'm a sensational pedestrian. I'm talking about, you can't cover corner me. If you, Aaron Glenn tried because my ability to see Avenue streets ahead of time. But my question to you is, wait.
C
That'S just, that's a real thing.
B
What do you mean?
C
Like we measure pedestrians? No, no, we rank them as far as their walk.
B
I'm joking. My career is down to just power walk.
C
I was gonna say, like, do people really take pride in like how I'm a fast walker?
B
Well, Ryan Clark I once told I played in the fifth quarter. His jaw dropped because he asked me what was the fifth quarter. And my freshman football experience was, well, I played in the fifth quarter. It was after the real game because it's a 90 man roster on freshman football. The guys that don't get real playing time. I'm sorry, the ref stay, the scoreboard lights shut off and you get a couple of reps. I'll spare you on the fact that my shoulder still pops out from getting run over that year. But I'm getting back to what I really want to talk out. Is there built in Larry David etiquette for New York pedestrians? Because I feel like there's a lot of pedestrians that aren't that courteous. And I'm an athlete dribbling with my head up. Like there's a lot of takers walking around. No one's moving out of the way.
C
Oh, no.
B
But like, how, how can I become a better pedestrian in New York? And what am I missing? To maybe not take it so personally if someone shows me, throws me a shoulder and I didn't do anything, and they don't even know that my shoulder's loose, it could pop out.
C
Listen, when you in the grimy streets of New York City, there's no etiquette, but there's takers.
B
Like, you wait for people to get off the subway before you get on. People are bulldozing me like, Lorenzo Neal.
C
Bro, this is New York City.
B
So you gotta, you gotta, you gotta.
C
Take every man for himself, every woman for herself.
D
Yeah, you have to be the bulldozer or get bulldozed.
C
Yeah, that's what it is.
B
Because in la, everyone sits behind their horn in traffic. Here you're on this. You're on. But, like, is there anything you guys can give me?
C
We just told you, be the bull.
B
You want me to throw a shoulder back to a guy from Staten Island? I'm not showing up tomorrow. The show. Listen, I can't throw a shoulder back. I'm a buck 75 soaking wet with one good shoulder.
C
If someone disrespects you, then you have every right to defend yourself.
B
So.
C
Jacob, now some of it just happens in combat where it's just like, you know, you just gotta take the L and keep it pushing. But we're. How. What is the level of aggression in this, like, show? Was it. Did it feel special?
B
It's just like. And I get it. I'm not. I'm not a physical presence. But, like, there's just. There's no.
C
Nah.
B
There's no respect on the street.
D
You have to mark your territory. I feel like you have to stand your ground and prove yourself before it's like, you know, it's like chair rules. You go after the biggest guy, you know, you just.
B
You're walking. You're walking in a straight line. You're not deviating. Whoever I bomb. Whoever I bomb. Is that what you're saying? Yep. If.
D
If it's a group of three, you have to break up that group. You cannot go around them because that's.
C
Disrespectful, by the way.
D
Yes, it is.
C
You walking, you walking through people, that's. That is viewed as disrespect.
B
Anthony, can we get an Italian POV here for a less?
D
See, because people.
B
Italian person than you, but still Italian.
D
Anthony's busy right now. Okay, but. But I just see. Because I. I see it every day and I get so annoyed by, like, you know, people that are not from here. Standing in the middle of the street, walking slow. I'm trying to briskly get to where I need to get even if. Even if I don't have to be there in a timely manner. The fact that you're in my way while I'm like, bold, like.
B
Okay, so great take.
C
So.
B
So would you make the case? Actual born and raised New Yorkers are much better pedestrians than I'm giving them credit for. It's really the tourists that are popping in.
C
Yeah, I think that we're all just wired to be on go. Like he just mentioned there's no specific time he has to be here. He's just, you know, there's an urgency. You operate when you're moving through New York City and the tourists. I don't Want to disparage them, but sometimes they're just not, you know, up to speed, for lack of a better term on the inner makings of like how to move around.
B
So nothing I can do except for just stand my territory.
D
Yeah.
B
Like next time I'll report back how that goes.
D
Next time you get off the train, when you leave here, just show no.
B
Because I'm L1, R1, old school. P.S. i'm circling, I'm stiff arming. Just even R3.
C
Don't get beat up. That's.
B
That's what I'm saying. That's why I choose to go Barry Sanders with at some point. But. But then if I see snow on the ground, you can't bob and weave like you can in the spring.
C
But then if you're a snowflake, like those tend to get mistreated.
D
Just, you know, just like I said, hit stick. Hit stick on the way out. You'll safe bet.
B
My last question, real quick.
C
Well, you wanted Anthony's pov. He was. He was.
D
Yeah, he's right.
C
Yeah.
E
No listening. Nobody's trying to beat anybody up here.
C
But.
B
But no one's getting out of the way for anyone. No, nobody is. Bumper cars.
E
It is bumper cars. So sometimes you got to bump too. It is what it is. Like that's. That's the city.
C
It's just.
E
And nobody gets mad at anybody. It's almost like it's just a little love tap.
C
It's our love language.
B
Like it's a rite of passage is what it is.
E
When it stops bothering you, you become a New Yorker.
B
I got five more years. Isn't it 10 years and you're a New Yorker.
C
I don't know how I feel.
E
I guess outside people say that. There's some people that say you ain't from here.
C
You ain't a New Yorker. I'm just man, if you. If you want.
E
Peter keeps calling himself a New Yorker and we're like, all right.
C
I feel ways about that, that Peter's Chevy, he's been here and he's earned, you know, doing his stuff at hot and being here. He's earned the, I guess the right to say that. But in the end, Peter's from Chevy Chase. He's not from New York.
B
These guys are telling me to use R3 truck stick on other people much bigger than me in the middle of winter when the jets and the Giants aren't winning. That's going to end well.
E
We're used to that by now. That's not anything new.
C
All right. Sometimes you Got to give a stare down too. Let them know, no shot. Listen, it's just so.
B
It's. It's a lot different when you're behind your car than when you're just. You got nothing. You got nothing but you mano e mano.
D
Yeah. Next time, next time you hit him, just, you know.
B
I'm not hitting anybody.
D
Just say you hit him with the too small celebration. Just so you know, you too small. Get out the way.
B
Shoulder shrug on the F. Hit him.
C
With a too small. You want advice? Listen, sometimes you got to be jumped into the gang. Just when you leave today, the first five people you see, just knock them out, let them know I'm here now. I'm just kidding, by the way. Don't do that.
B
I'm not going to, but I am.
C
Looking to be better. New York City initiation. Just knock them out. Knock them, knock them, knock them out.
B
I went from senior year intramural kickball to now a pedestrian in New York. Those are the last two. Athletic.
C
You like it so far, though, Outside of the lack of pedestrian decorum, I love it.
B
I love it.
C
Having a good time. 800-919-3776. We got a ton of nick calls. That was talk about it Tuesday, by the way. Now, the point is so that you can feel better after that. Do you feel better now?
B
Oh, I can't wait to run through a wall when I leave here. Thanks for the advice.
C
Let's go to Joe and Yonkers. What's up, Joe?
G
Yo, what's going on, guys? Good to talk to you.
J
Thanks for taking the call.
C
Appreciate you making it. What's going on?
J
What's going on, my boy? Alex Monaco, man. I follow you on the gram. You follow me back, too, my boy.
B
Oh, what up, Joe? Appreciate you, man.
G
Much respect, brother.
J
Yeah, much respect, bro. Yeah, no, I was just saying, like, the Knicks, man, we doing great. We got the great team chemistry. I wanted to talk about them. And it's crazy how we had this guy, a former six man, retire before the season even started. And we never, we never, you know, replaced that or whatever, whatnot. And I heard him before, we were talking about quickly and rj, I was saying maybe we could get somebody like quickly at the deadline or something, but necessarily, we really don't. Don't need it. Just wanted to get your feel about that and. Yeah, man, just wanted to say what's up, man? Keep doing your thing, you know, I mean, I'm listening to you all the time and following you, what you do. Always nailing them on the best and everything.
G
And I'm. Keep it up, man.
B
Hey, thanks, Joe. Appreciate it.
G
Well, my God, I love.
B
I love this squad. I love this Knicks team. It's going to be tough for me to be sold on. On shaking it up a little. I, again, just think this team has been building since Brunson came in, brick by brick. I know, Ty. I mean, New Yorkers, obviously. There's so many ways to go with optimism with this team.
C
Absolutely.
B
It's fun to talk trades. I just don't think you need it.
C
I don't think right now, no.
B
Well, Mike Brown is just getting the most out of every asset off the bench because we didn't see that last year with some of these guys and some of these new guys. It's real. I just. I want to see more of it.
C
The return on. On the Mike Brown investment has been just positive. Right. Like, you don't have any complaints about him. He's doing everything that Nick fans begged Tibbs to do. And again, I don't want to make this year a referendum on Tibbs because Tibbs was excellent, but wanted to see your bench more involved. He's done that. Wanted to see the offense just be more, you know, more fluid. He's done that. You've got an engaged Mikel Bridges. He's having an incredible season. OG on both ends is just so energized. There are times I've watched an anobi and I'm just, like, nervous he's going to get hurt because he just looks gimp. He just looks fresh right now on both sides. Mitchell Robinson, I love the plan they have with him. You know, didn't play last night because you want to have him as healthy as possible for the postseason. I have nothing to complain about. Like, do I have concerns come playoff time about what their defense is going to be? Sure, because when Cat and Brunson are net negatives on that side, teams can exploit it in a playoff series. But what we're watching right now, to me, is the best team in. In the Eastern Conference, and I'm excited to see them play the Pistons next week. I'm. I'll be excited to see them play the Rockets and the Thunder and the Nuggets. All of the tests that they have coming up just makes the second half, or not the second half, but the rest of the season just more intriguing because we know they're good. We know they're going to be there in the end, and it's just about proving it against the better teams in the NBA.
