Don Hahn
Hahn and Rosenberg on ESPN New York. Don's got his head bop going. He's excited to listen to A Tribe Called Quest albums this weekend.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm thinking he's gonna dog on a flight home tomorrow.
Don Hahn
It's such a, it's, it's a, it'll be a great vibe. I, I, I think you'll, I really, I, I gotta be honest, I don't know where it will sit with you because if you've never listened to low end theory by Tribe Called Quest, you don't have anything to comp it to.
Alan Hahn
Right?
Don Hahn
But man, I, I think you'll really,
Alan Hahn
I, I know this. Don likes jazz.
Don Hahn
So do you like jazz?
Peter Rosenberg
No.
Alan Hahn
Yes, you do. Yes, you do. You like the jazz sound. You like the jazz sound. You, if you like yacht rock, that has a jazz bass to it. You like that. You'll like this.
Don Hahn
This is, this is, it's, I liked where Alan was trying to go.
Alan Hahn
It's horn go great.
Don Hahn
It didn't go great.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, clearly. Is he, right away, it was just, he had defined.
Don Hahn
You were like, you were like, we know you, Don, you like jazz. He went, no, no, I don't.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, he was so defiant too.
Don Hahn
I know Don's treating jazz like it's like the 1920s. He's like, you mean those wacky kids smoking their marijuana cigarettes, right? I don't want to know a thing about that jazz.
Alan Hahn
Right. I don't mean Glenn Miller.
Don Hahn
It's the music of the youth. That's what I hear. All right, let's talk to you the people, because it is the day after a big Knicks win. And in fact win D had something to say about that big Knicks win. Let's hear win on the Knicks.
Caller Win D
Well, this was a high quality win. The Celtics were coming at him full blast in the second half. And if you're looking for A reason why the Knicks can make a playoff run. It's because of what they can do in clutch situations. I know you saw Hart and Towns finishing those plays, but it was Brunson who orchestrated it all. And defensively, they were able to get stops on Jayson Tatum down the stretch. He did not score at all in the last eight minutes. Had several fourth quarter turnovers. The Knicks can look you squarely in the eye and say, we can beat the Celtics. They are now 3:1 against them this season, and this win puts them basically in pole position to get the number three seed and be on the same side of the bracket as the Celtics in the playoffs. Boston can look back and say none of those wins happened with both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on the court. But potentially, we could see another terrific series here, assuming the teams take care of their business between now and the second round.
Alan Hahn
That sounds a lot like what I just said. Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
But it does get a little frustrating, though.
Alan Hahn
All right.
Peter Rosenberg
Like, there's got to be. There's caveats all over the place. Well, Brown didn't play and they didn't show this and they didn't show that. If we've learned anything about the NBA is you can't really buy into the regular season. We were just talking about it before the break when Spike called. Well, why are the Pistons 251 when they got the best record? Because nobody buys it. Because they don't have the experience. Because the playoffs are a completely different animal. Same thing with the Spurs. They have beaten the Thunder. They're not intimidated by the Thunder. Are they the favorites against the Thunder? No, because the Thunder have been there and the spurs haven't. It's a big difference. And the Knicks experience is the conference final last year. Right. The Celtics, they've won a title. They've been to a final. They've got tons of experience. Nobody can match their experience. So I'm not trying to discredit the win, but it's just. It's very interesting when we want to and when we don't. Oh, well, they were 3 and 1 against the Celtics. Look how clutch they were. Oh, but don't. Don't look at getting blown out three times by the Pistons. That doesn't matter. That's the regular season. The. The Knicks weren't showing them anything. Well, what's true and what's not, that's why let's just shut up and get to the postseason. Seriously. Because I think we buy too much into the regular season, especially against these teams that have been There and done that. Do I think the Celtics wanted to win last night? Hell, yeah, I did. And they probably walked out of there disappointed. But does that mean anything? Game one, second round, zip. Same thing with Spurs, Thunder. Same thing when the Pistons, you know, take on the Knicks. So it just seems we get to be very selective. Right. It's like a la carte. I'll take this regular season win and be meaningful. This one I'm going to ignore. And I think that especially the fans and a lot of people in the media are very selective about what they care about in the regular season.
Alan Hahn
I think. I think the end result is the part that you say doesn't matter as much. It matters in regular season for various reasons, seeding and season series and all.
Peter Rosenberg
Of course, of course.
Don Hahn
But.
Alan Hahn
But in the end, I'm with you. It's what you see in the matchups. It's what the teams are willing to give you. Like, because we know you're not going to show all your cards. You're not. There might be some things that they want to do that they're not going to do because they don't want to see it on film. Right. But there are still little things about the matchup that you say, you know, Pritchard sees Deuce McBride. He's not afraid of him. He goes right at him. So they're gonna have to make sure they don't let him get off because he got off in that second quarter and he was tough to stop. Like, it's little stuff like that. It's. If they're gonna guard Hart with their bigs because they don't want to put their bigs on Towns because Towns destroys their. Like, Towns vs. Vucevic is an unfair fight. Towns vs. Keita is also an unfair fight. So they'll put other people on towns that are more physical with them or quicker and it'll give him a hard time. But that means one of your bigs has got to go on Hart. So Hart's got to do what he did last night. He's got to make those shots to make them pay for putting a big man on him. It's the little things like that. It's the. It's the Mitchell Robinson. As you know, in that scenario, you know, Joe Missoula is going to wait till they're in the bonus and he's going to keep fouling them and get him out of the game. You. These are the little things that you just know, and we both know this. The team that hits the threes are going to win the game because they're both high volume three point shooting teams. So I look at these matchups, and I'm not going with anything. Like I think what Wendy said is what I said. One team walks away feeling this way. One team walks away feeling this way. And in the end, if you look at these two teams on paper and on the court, they. You go, it's 5149 every single game. When you talk about the. What is it? The. The. The power index that they do. ESPN does.
Peter Rosenberg
Right.
Alan Hahn
Every single game, the pie is going to be 51, 49. And I would put 51 for the team that's at home.
Peter Rosenberg
But.
Alan Hahn
But there's no. No one has a huge upper hand at full health. No one does. That's.
Don Hahn
Let's go to Izzy in Dallas. What's up, Izzy?
Caller Izzy
How we doing, guys? Good to hear from you again.
Don Hahn
Or.
Caller Izzy
Thanks for taking my call. Thanks for calling, Alan. You're saying 5149 a lot. And. And I hear you, and I. I think I get what you're trying to say, but are you saying that you think that that's the playoff odds if the Celtics meet the Knicks?
Alan Hahn
Yes. I think depending on who's home, that's who you'll favor in each game. 51, 49. They are evenly matched.
Caller Izzy
So you're basically. You're basically favoring the Celtics then, because that will have the home court.
Alan Hahn
I've already said that you. You have to beat the Celtics to win the east, and I think the Celtics are the team to beat, which puts them at the top. Yes. I would favor the Celtics in a series.
Caller Izzy
Speaking of the eye test and just recent history, I just don't. I don't see it. Make the case that.
Alan Hahn
Make the case. Go ahead.
Caller Izzy
They're shooting. If they're shooting 30% from 3 and we're worried about Pritchard driving and getting twos all day, I'll take that all night. And all you have to do is get one of the wings hot. Either.
Peter Rosenberg
Heart.
Caller Izzy
We keep putting it all on heart, but McBride hasn't even hit his stride yet. We go very deep. We can see Shamet in that role. And if they're pulling a big out on Shamet or McBride and they get
Alan Hahn
hot, they gotta make those shots.
Caller Izzy
It's over.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, they gotta make those shots.
Caller Izzy
But. But they proved they can.
Caller Bryce
We were.
Caller Izzy
We were beating them with Tatum or without Tatum. Last year, it didn't matter. With Brown on the floor, with Porzingis, with Horford. I think they're a lesser team. This year, the Celtics, and they're not as deep. We are much deeper. Clarkson was having his way, and all of a sudden he realized that he can go to the basket and score at will, it seems. And I just think we can throw too many bodies at him. We're healthy, and if we matched up with them right now, there's no way I would say it would be 51, 49 towards the Celtics and everything.
Alan Hahn
You're making all the cases. The only thing I'll push back on is you're talking about one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, one of the best prepared teams, and a team that can murder you with the three against the Knick defense against the three, that's one of the worst in the league. So that's why I say there's always a balance.
Peter Rosenberg
And I think they got a better coach.
Alan Hahn
But I love this. This is what I mean. Like, make the case. We can. You can make the case either way,
Peter Rosenberg
and I can't do a great job making the case. The one. One thing I'll say is, look how well the Celtics played without Tatum.
Alan Hahn
Yep.
Peter Rosenberg
They were supposed to be done. Right. One of the reasons the Knicks were the favorites was because Halliburton was gone in Indiana, Tatum was gone in Boston, and it was going to be cruise control because nobody thought the Pistons were going to be this good.
Alan Hahn
Right.
Peter Rosenberg
And. And the Celtics without Tatum were still ahead of the Knicks at times during the course of the regular season. Then they add Tatum and he looks like he's fine. So listen, I expect Nick fans to be confident, but listen, Vegas kind of knows what they're doing, and Vegas has them as the favorite.
Alan Hahn
The favorite?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, the favorite.
Alan Hahn
It's them that. Them, Cleveland, Knicks, Detroit at the odds to get out of the East. That's. That's what Vegas has.
Peter Rosenberg
Right.
Don Hahn
And of course, that doesn't mean that's a lock, but they also. But I'm just saying they generally have some idea what they're talking about.
Peter Rosenberg
But I don't think Allen is anywhere near off base saying the 5149 scenario. It's close, man.
Caller Bryce
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
Makes for a great series.
Don Hahn
So Griffin had mentioned that canty cut. We did the work because that's what we do. Let's hear. Let's hear the cut that he was talking about from unsportsmanlike.
Caller Samson
I'm not going to dismiss how good the Knicks are. I think they have a lot of defensive versatility because of OG Anunoby. Him being healthy is going to make a huge difference for them. But I will say this. In watching last night's game, it felt like Josh Hart having a good shooting night is much more of an outlier than Baylor Shireman coming off the bench and hitting six to seven from deep. Josh Hart hit five threes last night. I mean two in the final minute with the shot clock inside five seconds. He was awesome. But it took Josh Hart having to make those shots in order for the Knicks not to give up the goals on what was a double digit lead earlier in the second half. And I guess that's my point. You add in Jaylen Brown to that equation into last night's game and you could potentially have a different outcome. And if we're projecting it over a long series, I just think the Boston Celtics are a better team, period. Not being disrespectful to the New York Knicks because I do think the Celtics are not just a better team if they were to match up in that series in the second round. But, but I think the Boston Celtics are the class of the Eastern Conference and I fully expect that they will be in the NBA final.
Alan Hahn
There's nothing, again, nothing crazy that he said there other than the fact that Hart and Shireman, like Shireman is something like. Of a given. Hart shoots 41% from three this year, averaging three point something attempts a game. Shireman is shooting 39%, averaging three attempts per game. So they're pretty much. Even though you think Charman's the better shooter, they're both doing the same thing.
Don Hahn
I think that's the only thing I think a little bit in Canty being a local guy and he watches a lot of Knicks games. And I do. You do, you do kind of feel if you've watched a lot of Nick games that Hart being that good in one game feels like a big outlier. Like you don't feel like very often he's going to shoot the lights out like that.
Alan Hahn
But we've kind of seen Hart do it this season. He's had a great again, 41% career high. That's been a really good three point shooter this year because it's all he works on. But, but it's, you know, again, like I didn't think anything Kenny said there was outrageous.
Don Hahn
No.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, I, I think Knick fans are.
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Stoked. So anybody that's not picking them to win is the enemy. Right?
Alan Hahn
You're a hater.
Peter Rosenberg
And I just, I just think that you could be a Knick guy. You can be someone that's rooting for the Knicks, but also be logical and say this is going to be, this is going to be tough. But look how you got beat up. Saying what you said about the Celtics. Just like should be all in, man. This is. We're going to win. We're going to do it, you know, And I just caution. I love the optimism. You thought you were going to wipe the floor with the Pacers, didn't?
Alan Hahn
Mm, right.
Peter Rosenberg
There's a lot. A few years ago you thought, oh, we're going to beat Miami, we're going to the conference final. Didn't. Because this team sometimes frustrates you. They do the impossible and they always seem to. When you expect them to do it, they don't. There's a history of that now. I think they're a great team. But respecting the Celtics is not disrespecting the Knicks.
Alan Hahn
Right? Right.
Don Hahn
Let's go to Bryce in Amityville. What's up, Bryce?
Caller Bryce
Can you guys hear me?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Caller Bryce
Oh, what's up, man? Okay, just quick point about Josh and then I'm gonna get to my two favorite guys coming off the bench. This guy Josh is senior year coming out of Nova. Average of almost close to 20 points and teams continuously put their big guy on him. And I know a lot of people say, oh, Josh is not really going to hit those shots usually all the time. This guy's still a shooting guard and capable to score. I don't, I don't get that concept. And we, we should burn teams every time that they do it.
Alan Hahn
Well, he's had moments where he's been left open. You remember in the playoffs last year, and he got really down on himself because he missed a lot of open shots. Teams were leaving him open. It started with Nick Nurse doing it with Philly two years ago, and Josh made big shots in that series from three and it became a thing that a lot of teams were doing. He's well aware of it and it's the one thing he works on is being a better and more capable or more consistent three point shooter when he's left open, because that, that's the killer. When you miss open shots, especially in the playoffs, it kills you because you can't afford every possession matter. So it's, it's been a strategy for the last two years. It's nothing new. That's why he works so hard on, you know, practicing those threes because he knows he's gonna get them.
Don Hahn
Let's keep this thing going and head over to Samson. No, not talking to Samson. No, no, not talking to Samson.
Alan Hahn
Very strong name.
Don Hahn
I'm sorry, it is a strong name, a name I respect, but not a call that I'm taking at this moment. This is a risk. What I'm going to do right here is a risk. But it is, it is the topic at hand. Let's go to Richard Manhattan. I know it's early in the show.
Peter Rosenberg
It is very early.
Caller Bryce
Richard, Don, Peter Allen. The ticket prices for a Knicks Celtic playoff game, second round or conference finals will break a record. I am telling that this rivalry is as good now as I'll go back to 72, 73, 74. Cowan's is Tatum, Havlicek is Jalen Brown. It's going to be unbelievable. 10,000 for downstairs in the middle, 5,000 upstairs, 2,000. That's what those tickets are going to go for. Allen, I heard your interview post game with Josh Hart. I would have said something a little different. I would have opened it up Alan and said, Josh, great game, great shooting, great defense. But why only one rebound? Josh, what were they doing different to keep you off the boards? That's what I would have asked. And finally I'll close on this. One of the callers just said the Celtics are deep, the Knicks are deeper off the bench. Yesterday the Celtic bench outscored the Knicks bench. Now they played more minutes but the Celtic bench outscored the Knick bench 53, 22. That's what kept the Celtics in the game. They got great contributions.
Alan Hahn
Two 20 point scorers off the bench for them. Pritchard and Sharp.
Caller Bryce
Yeah, yeah, but they played great. So they have a deep bench too. But I'm telling you, this Celtic rivalry, better than the Ewing days, better than the Garnett days, Carmelo days. This goes back to 72 and those were the best playoff games I've ever seen. Better than the old Bullet games, better than Miami, better than Indiana. Those Celtic games in the, those three.
Alan Hahn
You just gotta understand that first and foremost the Mello Garnett days, those teams hated each other.
Don Hahn
Oh yeah.
Alan Hahn
Like I know they had two playoff series, each one won one and they, they were, they were nasty series and they, even when they played during the regular season. You remember the mellow Garnett thing, right?
Don Hahn
Oh, I sure do. Lucky Charlie Nut.
Alan Hahn
Cheerios. Like no, no, there was no love loss like that. That was fun because they didn't like each other. So you know, like I wouldn't go, I wouldn't go too crazy. And the other one is this, Richard. If you asked Josh that question, he would have walked away from you. The guy has an unbelievable three point shooting night. We're on the court at the Garden, I have three questions, and I got to let him go. You always ask about the team, then you ask about him, then you ask about coming forward.
Caller Bryce
That's it.
Alan Hahn
That's the strategy. That's what you do. This is where, you know, this is not Meet the Press, all right? He still has to do press in the locker.
Peter Rosenberg
Sunday conversation.
Alan Hahn
No, no. Right, exactly. So, wow.
Don Hahn
Just a Sunday conversation.
Alan Hahn
So just understand, like. Like, you. You know what you're doing, and if I'm dropping, you know, you only have one rebound. Like, that's. Then the next time you ask for him, he goes, him.
Peter Rosenberg
No, no, I'm good.
Alan Hahn
You gotta understand, that's not a question for. On the court. You do that in the locker room. Like, one rebound. The guy had 23 points and a
Podcast Host (Don Hahn or Rosenberg)
half, 15 in the fourth quarter.
Alan Hahn
Hit two clutch threes, and I'm gonna go, yeah, but you only have one rebound. Let's be honest.
Peter Rosenberg
You got to go negative.
Don Hahn
Right?
Podcast Host (Don Hahn or Rosenberg)
Jeez.
Peter Rosenberg
What were they doing to stop you from getting rebounds?
Alan Hahn
How about, what was I doing to beat this story? Oh, my God. Richard, please.
Peter Rosenberg
Dentist and two days, I got a headache.
Alan Hahn
Two days, I got a headache.
Don Hahn
It's all right. It's okay. It's okay.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, I got. I got. I got three questions, and I got to make sure I go, you know.
Peter Rosenberg
Right.
Alan Hahn
Nice game and all, but one rebound. Really couldn't do the boards.
Don Hahn
Hey, ever heard of crashing? You ever crash?
Alan Hahn
You allergic? You allergic to the glass?
Don Hahn
Let's go to Jay in Westchester. What's up, Jay?
Caller Izzy
Hey, what's up, guys? I was wondering.
Caller Bryce
I know they got to give Deuce
Caller Izzy
some time because of the injury. He's coming back, but don't you.
Caller Bryce
Do you think they're going to be
Caller Izzy
missing mix and matching Alvarado in there? Because Alvarado got that dog in him.
Caller Bryce
He goes in. He's a Gucci player.
Caller Izzy
He brings a different energy, I feel, on the defensive side than Deuce, as you noticed last night.
Alan Hahn
Well, Deuce is, when he's right, is a very good defensive guard. And he's also a bulldog, and he gets through screens. He's really good. He's a little bit bigger than Alvarado, and that's something that you have to keep in mind, too, when you're playing against bigger teams. I am curious to see how this goes. I give Alvarado all the credit in the world because he's been a good soldier. He doesn't complain, nothing. But he knows he's out of the rotation. They're going with Shametake who's bigger. And Shamet has played point guard before college days, but he can handle the basketball. And right now Landry Shamut is your backup guard. That's what they're going with because he can shoot the three, which is something Alvarado has been struggling with since he became a Knick. He's been hot and cold from three but not consistent enough. And I do think the size factor, he's small, I think that does hurt him. Now. I think he's gonna play tonight because you won't see deuce in a back to back good chance for him to put some good tape out there and say, hey, don't forget about me. Don't you I could see that. Forget about me.
Don Hahn
Don't you forget about fraud Friday because you won't. The judge is entering the chambers. We will still get back to the people on all things Nick's at 1-800-919-377.
Peter Rosenberg

Good. I just putting some manuka honey in my tea.

All rise.
Peter Rosenberg
But there's no spoons in a hotel room, so.
Alan Hahn
Of course not.
Peter Rosenberg
I fashioned a spoon out of a cup that I broke open, so.
Don Hahn
Oh, wow.
Alan Hahn
Don't cut yourself.
Peter Rosenberg
No, it's plastic. It's.
Alan Hahn
Well, but plastic still can give you, like, a little paper.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm the MacGyver of.
Don Hahn
But you're putting the manuka into your tea, I assume?
Peter Rosenberg
That's right.
Don Hahn
Do you think when the season ends, Don, you will finally stop being sick? Yes. That is the hope. You know, I used to get sick
Alan Hahn
when the season was over. It was the craziest thing. Every year, once the travel was over, suddenly I'd be sick for a week.
Peter Rosenberg
What happened was. I'm fine. It's just that it's. All of the games and the shows that I did while I was sick.

Yeah.

The immune system.
Don Hahn
Immune system?
Peter Rosenberg
Well, no, just my voice. My throat.
Alan Hahn
That too.
Peter Rosenberg
Your voice?
Don Hahn
Your throat now. Yeah. I feel bad. I. I brought something into the house last week on Saturday. I woke up and felt it, and. And I'm almost done with it. But Natalie and Maya both today. Lot going on and. You know, I feel when the babies are that little and they've got the snot, it's really. It's sad. You stick the little thing up their nose to suck it out.
Peter Rosenberg
They don't have to blow.
Don Hahn
She's got no idea to blow her nose.
Peter Rosenberg
No. So you got that little, like.
Don Hahn
You squeeze the little thing and then you stick it up their nose, and it's like a syringe, and it sucks the snot out. She doesn't.
Alan Hahn
She.
Don Hahn
She doesn't enjoy it, though.
Peter Rosenberg
No.
Don Hahn
You know, I feel. I feel terrible for her, but hopefully they'll bounce back this weekend. Here we go, guys. Dhrespnmail.com Marcus writes us afternoon, gents. With the NBA expansion pending in Seattle, looking like they're getting a team again, it got me thinking. Assuming you stayed a Thunder fan when the Sonics left, is it fraud if you leave OKC to become a Sonics fan again?
Alan Hahn
Wow.
Don Hahn
You're originally a Sonics fan and you root for the other Seattle sports teams, but you were forced to become a Thunder fan, and now you want to Be a Sonic Fan again. How does this work, Judge?
Alan Hahn
This is great.
Peter Rosenberg
Good question.
Caller Bryce
Wow.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm gonna say this. I can't call you a fraud either way because I'm just putting myself. Let's all. We can all put ourselves in this situation. All right. You as a Yankee fan, Alan, Peter, you as a Commanders fan. I'll pick the Mets. Just so we have.
Caller Bryce
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
All different. Right. What if the Mets moved? Move. The Yankees moved. What if the Commanders moved? You have the ability to continue to follow them. Right? And you continue to follow them. I mean, what Seattle left. God, it's got to be 20 years, right?
Alan Hahn
Wow.
Peter Rosenberg
Right. Because the Thunder was in the final in 2012.
Alan Hahn
I think you're right. I think.
Peter Rosenberg
You know, so for 20 years, you continue to follow them. They take the history of the Sonics with them. So in the case of the Mets, now they move that team. They move to, you know, Madison, Wisconsin or whatever. They become the Madison Mets. They take all the history. I continue to root for them. Continue for 20 years. Sure. And then baseball expands and the Mets come back. I think you again. I can't kill you either.
Alan Hahn
It's been almost 21st year.
Peter Rosenberg
I think the more fraudulent thing would be to going back and rooting for the Sonics again.
Don Hahn
Right. Because you went. You left with the organization. It's. That's very. But then. But then over time. Now here's the thing.
Alan Hahn
Let me just ask.
Don Hahn
Can you grant an exemption though? Don't.
Caller Bryce
Can you?
Don Hahn
Because this exemption almost has to last for the next few years. Don, here's the hard part. They come back. You're still. You're a Thunder fan right now. Okay. This is a new Seattle team. You're like, nah, I'm sticking with the Thunder. But you're born and raised Seattle.
Peter Rosenberg
I know.
Don Hahn
You continue now over the next five years and they get ingratiated to the community again. They become part. Like how? Don, this may have to be a situation where you kind of allow somebody to.
Alan Hahn
Here's your example. No, no, here's your example on. I'll offer exhibit A. The Dodgers left for la. They were the lifeblood of National League Baseball in New York City. And a lot of fans in New York now didn't have a team to cheer for. But they were Dodger fans. The Mets showed up, what, seven years
Don Hahn
later, if it's a day?
Alan Hahn
And National League team. So are those fans frauds because they became Mets fans?
Peter Rosenberg
Well, no, only because it was almost impossible to follow the dodgers. They were 3,000 miles away. Their games were on Late at night, there was no satellite.
Alan Hahn
Seattle and Oklahoma City is very far away.
Peter Rosenberg
No, but I'm saying I'm not gonna call my dad a fraud for becoming a Met fan. He tried to follow the Dodgers. He'd get the newspaper two days later. Couldn't. Couldn't follow the team he had. He had to give up. But now you have the technology to continue to follow for going on 20 years, you continue to follow the Thunder. Live and die with the Thunder, celebrate their championship last year. How do you turn that off? So I'm not gonna call fraud on either. But if I had to declare the fraud, I think the fraud is shutting down what you've had with the Thunder for nearly 20 years and going back to the city that betrayed you. So I would say no fraud on either. But if I had to say, I think to be giving up on Oklahoma City.
Alan Hahn
So you're telling your advice to him, your legal advice is you have to stay with the team you're cheering for, which means you have to stay a Thunder fan. And what a time to leave them when they just won their championship. They might win two. And you're going to walk away now for an expansion team?
Don Hahn
That's crazy.
Alan Hahn
Gutsy.
Peter Rosenberg
He won't do it.
Don Hahn
No.
Peter Rosenberg
So you tell. You're telling me they announced and the Thunder are good and they're competing for what would then be a third consecutive title. You're going to give up on him.
Alan Hahn
He's not going to do that for your hometown teams. You could have fun with the rest of the people around you.
Peter Rosenberg
But remember, that hometown team did betray you and left in the first place.
Alan Hahn
So if you stop being a fan, then you'd say, no fraud.
Peter Rosenberg
Right.
Alan Hahn
The day they left, you're like, that's it. I write them off. I'm not going to be a Thunder fan.
Caller Bryce
And then they.
Peter Rosenberg
And then they came back and you started rooting for them again. Yeah, there's no fraud there. But I'm with Peter. There's got to be a caveat that is a very different. Like, what did the Browns fans do? What if they started rooting for the Ravens?
Don Hahn
Guys, I'm about to drop a truth bomb that you both are going to be nodding your head in agreement here. All right, let's be realistic about what's really going to happen. People are going to stick with the Thunder for the next couple years, and then when the Thunder returned to what they were, they will go back to the Seattle SuperSonics.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, don't ruin it. But you're absolutely right.
Don Hahn
That's what's happening though, that once SGA gets traded and like the team gets blown up, then they're back to Seattle and they forget about the Thunder.
Alan Hahn
We'll get that email in 10 years.
Don Hahn
Threspnmail.com fraud Friday. Hey guys. Love the show. My son had an extensive hospital stay during this past holiday season. We're sorry to hear that.
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Don Hahn
We got word that Joey Bosa of the Bills was down the hall and heading our way way with a present for Andrew. My son and I were already decked out in Bill's gear, but my wife is a die hard Raiders fan. I asked her if she wanted to put on one of my Bill's hoodies so she can play along as a fan for the pictures and stuff. Her response to me was a quick no way. I'm not some fraud. I just want to Judge legreca's hypothetical ruling. Had my wife worn the Bill's gear and faked it, would she have been considered a fraud? Go Bills Jeff from Niagara Falls.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, she would have been a really good mom and she would have done the right thing, but would have been a fraud. And I would also would appreciate it if she didn't do it. Matter of fact, you know what? If that were my, I'd make out. I'd make out with her right in front of the doctor. Right, because you're so proud. So proud.
Alan Hahn
So proud.
Peter Rosenberg
You know, Bosa would be like, that's cool, man. I get it. You're a Raider fan. Don't put that on.
Don Hahn
Well, I was just going to say this isn't it simple enough? You're a big Raiders fan and one of the Bills shows up to show love for your son. Maybe you're just not wearing your Bill stuff, that you're just wearing a regular black shirt. I mean, do we have to display an allegiance one way or the other? Can't you just say thank you?
Peter Rosenberg
But I would tell you, if he had done that for my kid, he would have a fan for life. I would root for him for life. Oh yeah, you know, like how do you know?
Don Hahn
Listen, I. I happen to have.
Alan Hahn
Wow.
Don Hahn
I happen to have a streak in me when it comes to the commanders of non fraudulence, that goes too far. Like I will meet people if they're like active players on another team. When I get introduced to them, I'm like, hey, Peter, nice to meet you. I'm a commander's fan. I'm a commander. Something like I need to tell them that. Like I.
Peter Rosenberg
Right.
Don Hahn
And is it Necessary. Is it helpful? I. I don't know. Yeah, I met Russell Wilson once in, like, 2012, and I was like, hey, man, congrats on everything. Great year, but, yeah, I'm a commander's fan. And he went on to win a Super Bowl. I went on to lose my quarterback, but you get the idea.
Peter Rosenberg
You like the Washington commanders, man.
Don Hahn
He was like, it's all good.
Peter Rosenberg
You don't think I'm Seattle, man. Hey, yo, Seattle.
Don Hahn
He's like, it's all good, bro. I'll catch you when I'm in DC.
Peter Rosenberg
Hey, you're a commander's fan. That's great. I love football.
Alan Hahn
Wouldn't it be hilarious if his voice was totally different when you met him in person?
Don Hahn
I just root for football.
Peter Rosenberg
I just. I think it's one of those two.
Don Hahn
They're a commander's fan. Isn't that great?
Peter Rosenberg
Unlimited God. Talk about frauds.
Alan Hahn
Oh, man.
Don Hahn
All right, Isaac. Isaac reaches out. Isaac from Howard County, Maryland. He says fraud. This is the subject, guys. Fraud alert Friday. Colon. Maybe worst ever.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, okay, I'm ready for this.
Alan Hahn
Oh, wow.
Don Hahn
I'm a die hard Orioles fan.
Alan Hahn
Orioles.
Peter Rosenberg
Go Birds.
Don Hahn
And by the way, I just want to say the Orioles are a team. And I say this as a fraud Orioles fan. But still, that is a team where you can truly use. Use the word die hard.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, you've died.
Don Hahn
You've been dying your whole life. Yeah, you've been dying. You've died a thousand deaths since 1983.
Alan Hahn
Okay.
Don Hahn
I'm a die hard Orioles fan and have been my whole life. Been listening to the show since last year. Ish of tmks. So I have a friend who's also an Orioles fan and grew up with the team with me, got excited when the team started to show promise at the end of the 22 season and especially after the 22 season with 101 wins. After the end of the 2024 season when the team struggled in the second half of the year but still made the playoffs, my friend decided since the Yankees got to the World Series, he would become a Yankees fan immediately. Bought Yankees hats and roots for the team. The part that gets me is he still roots for the Orioles as well. They are division rivals. Please give me the answer I'm looking for.
Alan Hahn
You don't roots ever.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, but we got. You know why we needed it, Alan? Because now we got a new kind of fraud.
Alan Hahn
What is it?
Peter Rosenberg
Super fraud. I laugh at your fraudulence because I am super fraud. That's the king of all frauds.
Alan Hahn
Oh, that's hard fraud.
Ian Fitzsimmons
Wow.
Don Hahn
Are you serious?
Peter Rosenberg
I like super fraud, don't you?
Alan Hahn
Super fraud was good.
Don Hahn
That I got to tell you too, guys. It's a different. It's a different kind of fraud because, you know, growing up in the D.C. area, I went to Memorial Stadium. As you know, that's my. My baseball origin story is I went to a million Orioles games when the Yankees came to town. The stadium gets taken over in a way that was nauseating. I mean, guys, I'm talking about. This is the days of, you know, me watching people cheer for Dave Winfield and Don Mattingly. But this continued all the way through the jeter years in Core 4. And to this day, as you guys all know, if you are watching a game at Camden Yards, it usually sounds like a Yankee home game. Yes, that's just how it is. DC area has a ton of New York people and people make the trip. It's got all the perfect. Oh, by the way, I'll say it proudly, plus Camden Yards may be the best park in all of baseball. People love to go to games down there. It is. It's a brutal experience. So to then become a Yankee fan is. That's why to this day, and you want to know. Fraud. I'm wearing a Yankees jacket as we speak. Okay. Gifted by my friends at Billionaire Boys Club. I love this jacket. I wear Fraud. Fraud. Fraud. But I love it.
Alan Hahn
But that's why you know fraud when you see it. Because you're a card carrying member.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. However, Peter.
Don Hahn
But I'll tell you this right now. I'll tell you this right now. Never in my life would I ever in an oriole Yankee game for the Yankees. I mean it's, it's so.
Peter Rosenberg
That's a fine line what you're doing there, Peter.
Alan Hahn
That's so. It's so bizarre.
Peter Rosenberg
As you wear your Yankee jack.
Alan Hahn
I've said it's just the commanders.
Amazon Hub Delivery Announcer
Everything else is up for grabs.
Alan Hahn
That's Penguins. Sometimes.
Don Hahn
No, no.
Alan Hahn
Sometimes it's the Celtics.
Peter Rosenberg
As he was loading the truck.
Don Hahn
As you steal all the Islanders gear. Peter.
Alan Hahn
Out of UBS Arena.
Peter Rosenberg
Let's be honest, Peter, don't take this the wrong way.
Don Hahn
Go ahead.
Peter Rosenberg
Outside of football, you're for sale.
Don Hahn
It's not true.
Alan Hahn
I think he just likes free gear.
Peter Rosenberg
You don't think you could be.
Don Hahn
Paul, you're wearing that jacket.
Peter Rosenberg
You were.
Don Hahn
No, because if I was. If I could. Could be bought like you're saying. And I see. Listen, I'm not going to pretend the argument doesn't exist. I obviously have to defend myself. But if the argument you're making is true, I would have actually become an Islander fan considering the owner like invited me to become one. And it's I live out there. I'm not actually for sale. I will just say this. I'm only a truly good quality fan of the Washington computers. Everyone else, I love my listen, I have true memories that are deep in my heart with the Celtics and the Penguins. But I'm not going to act like I get to be in the conversation of most hardcore fans they have. There's only one team that has me in that regard.
Peter Rosenberg
We had two, two fraud names today. There's super fraud and mail order fraud. You're a mail order fraud.
Don Hahn
That's right. I will say. I will say this. The the when I was given this
Alan Hahn
jacket, that might be the worst kind of front.
Don Hahn
But by the way, this is a cool little thing they have on this BBC ice cream BBC Yankee jacket.
Alan Hahn
They did BB what BBC.
Don Hahn
Their logo is the spaceman.
Alan Hahn
Oh, they're all the championships.
Don Hahn
That'd be 27 spacemen right there to you and me. All right, that'll do it. Alan Hahn
Can I kick it?

Can I kick it?
Alan Hahn
Yes you can.
Don Hahn
Can I kick it? Familiar Don.
Peter Rosenberg
Never heard that in my life.
Don Hahn
Isn't it crazy too? Allan Cuz I'm telling you as God is my witness he has heard that as a rejoiner before. At the very least a rejoin probably
Alan Hahn
I this is just and isn't it is It.
Don Hahn
Can I kick it in one of the big kids movies? One of the cartoons of recent vintage, I believe had.
Alan Hahn
You're right on that.
Don Hahn
Can I kick it? I don't remember which one.
Alan Hahn
It just kills me that this man has Q tips number in his phone and I don't.
Don Hahn
I know I'm gonna make it right.
Alan Hahn
I don't have. I don't have access.
Peter Rosenberg
Listen, if you really want to know, he's a big Jet fan. And when I was doing the jets preemption post, he'd want to reach out to me, ask Peter for my number because he wanted to ask me like Jet stuff. And we'd get back and forth and love it. Became friendly on text mess.
Don Hahn
Alan, who's your. Who's your football team?
Alan Hahn
Who's my football team? I mean, it's the jets, but. But nobody.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, but who's.
Don Hahn
But who's the basketball team you're associated with?
Alan Hahn
The Knicks.
Peter Rosenberg
All the famous people that text him about the Knicks.
Alan Hahn
I know.
Peter Rosenberg
Let's deal. Okay.
Alan Hahn
Hung out with Matthew Modine last night. Name drop.
Don Hahn
Hit it.
Alan Hahn
He is. You talk about like a quality human. Quality human. What a good dude.
Peter Rosenberg
Did I ever tell you the story?
Don Hahn
We did.
Peter Rosenberg
We did a remote without K. Believe it or not, we were giving away a Hummer.
Don Hahn
Right?
Alan Hahn
Hey.
Peter Rosenberg
And you had to turn the key.
Don Hahn
That's a hell of a contest.
Peter Rosenberg
Hey, listen, we just came off the Lou Reed songs of the vehicle.
Alan Hahn
Okay, so.
Peter Rosenberg
So we give that. We give the car away. So it's just me and Joey. A great adventure. It's a Friday, right? Doing the show. All of a sudden. Bang, close the park, six o'.
Alan Hahn
Clock.
Peter Rosenberg
Bang to close it. Shut it tight. The summer, six o'.
Don Hahn
Clock.
Alan Hahn
Interesting.
Peter Rosenberg
Nobody there who walks in? Matthew Modi. They closed the park for him and his family. And his family. I'm sure he paid a pretty penny for it, probably. And he came by and he said hello. Told him I loved him in Full Metal Jacket. And we got a chance to talk to him during a commercial break. It was great.
Alan Hahn
He's such a good dude. It's so funny the different generations of people that you talk to that if you say his name they're like, oh, Vision Quest. Oh, Full Metal Jacket. Oh, stranger things. Like think about the different generations that he has been able to reach just from characters he's played. It's amazing.
Peter Rosenberg
He's terrific. A really down to earth guy. I thought. I thought he was really.
Alan Hahn
Oh, he. I'm telling you, he's. It's as genuine as they come And
Peter Rosenberg
I got a picture with him, but it's really in the thick of Repug. Don Repug.
Don Hahn
Oh, really?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Don Hahn
It's unfortunate. Very unfortunate. Now, Don, real quick level of concern on the, on the Mets after yesterday, did it change anything for you or it's just, it's another bad loss?
Peter Rosenberg
Well, it's a series loss. You know, that's what bothers you again. You can't get caught up in one given loss. But you've got a series loss against St. Louis, kind of get back, you get, you beat up on. San Francisco is not a very good team. You know, you win four in a row, but then you lose the last two games of the series against the Diamondbacks. So you've dropped two of your three last series and you got one one run. So we could talk about. You take McLain out, which was definitely the right thing to do, but you waste a great pitching performance from him. Bullpen melts down, you lose 7 1. But do you really expect at 1 nothing in the seventh that even if you got out of it, that you're going to win the game one nothing. Now, you didn't expect to lose 71 and had Luke Weaver completely meltdown, but come on, you gotta. Now, I know it's cold and all the, the excuses or whatever, but you don't want to start losing series because unlike the Yankees, this division seems to be a little bit more competitive. I mean, so that's what bothers me, just losing series, especially losing series at home. And when you've got looming a West coast trip that includes the Dodgers, which they're tough to beat no matter what. So I'm not going to get crazy. It's April 10th, but I just, I hate losing series. The teams you should take care of, especially in your own building.
Alan Hahn
Is that like your formula? Like, when you're looking at it, you're going that way, right? I want two out of three. Yeah, three out of four. But I don't like. That's what you want. You want to stack as many series wins as you can versus wins. Because you know you're not going to, you know, you're not going to run the table. You're not going to go.
Peter Rosenberg
No.
Alan Hahn
You're going to lose games, right.
Peter Rosenberg
Is that you want to win series. There's two things that you'd like if you're a good team. And the Yankees have had problems with this second one in recent vintage. First one win series.
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And the Yankees have been able to do that until what happened against the A's the other thing is bring out the broom. Like when you, when you take the first two, sweep them. Because sweeps are, you know, pretty rare. You know, you don't want to be dropping those games. And the Yankees have done that, you know, recently where they'll take the first three, then lose the fourth one or they'll take the first two, lose the third one. So those are the things I kind of look for. You can put the hammer down, do it, try to win series. Now you're not gonna win them all, but you know, at home against bad teams like the Cardinals, you want to take care of business. You win series, you're going to the playoffs. Lock.
Alan Hahn
Oh, there's no question.
Peter Rosenberg
So that's what you're looking to do.
Alan Hahn
Do you take anything out of the McLean performance though, at least? Like I tried to find all the different positives. Right. Like yesterday.
Peter Rosenberg
No, it was great. That was exactly what they needed. And if the bullpen had done what they normally do, maybe, maybe they would have escaped with a one nothing game. But, but you know, you don't expect to score one run and win. That's tough to do.
Alan Hahn
But that's why I asked though about McClain, because out of anyone right now, early in the season in your starting pitching rotation, because Peralta is what he is, right. The rest of it you don't really know. Peterson certainly has shown you that something's fallen off and it's not good. You remember, his September was bad and he has not done anything to make us forget about it. But McClain was somebody that you were really excited about because of what you saw late in the season and then early on, you know, like he, he had some struggle. He's still getting young pitcher. But you really do want to see him establish himself as. No, I'm a guy. Like I'm a guy you can depend. You needed a good performance like that. So you try to take. It's in April. I think you try to always find, well, what are some good things that are happening here that are worth building on as much as the concerns that you could always just dust away as it's early in the season and you know, guys aren't in rhythm yet or it's cold and all that other stuff. I still need something. I need a pitcher to establish himself in my, my pitching rotation. And this young guy's supposed to be an ace or at least we were fancying him to be. I'd like to see some of those type performances. I think maybe that's what you got out of him.
Peter Rosenberg
I think so too.
Don Hahn
All right, I want to hear what Don's plane tease was. He had a cool airplane story, but we're going to have to wait until after the break. Big five o' clock hour, including phone lines completely jammed about a variety of things, particularly Knicks. We'll get to all of you Nick

Don Hahn
Very excited. But before that, I want to say that FanDuel has your back with a special mulligan. A special Mulligan Bet Back token this week in golf. All right.
