Okay, all right, so you're in Central. Okay. And you have. There's a big Bills fan base there. And this is there. So do you don't. So you won't be able to get that station, right? The one in West Palm. That's too far from you.

You'd have to stream it one way or another. You know, Pirate, do whatever you got to do.

There's a lot of New Yorkers that have moved down to Carolina.

So this is now a bit dated Tennessee as well. But previously to pre Carolina Panthers, the Washington Redskins sort of fan base went hardcore DC all the way to Atlanta and I think in some cases even beyond because you know, they were such a big and popular and early team and there really wasn't a lot down there.

I think, I wonder if we probably still have affiliates in North Carolina. I'm a.

Look, that's. It is really amazing, but it is something I think that you'll start, you might start to see and maybe the Bills are just doing something that certainly that makes sense. So we have now some news on the. So you know that the air quality has been a major issue here in the Northeast, all to do with of course the Canadian wildfires. And today was supposed to be a really, really bad day when it comes to air quality. The Mets and the Phillies are beginning the second half of the season tonight in Philadelphia, Citizens Bank Park. And that game was supposed to be a 710 first pitch. We were going to be off at 6:30 today.

That has now changed.

Because of the concern for air quality tonight, the game is being moved to 6:10pm so you're going to get pregame coverage now instead starting at 5:30. So we're only on for another hour and a half and then it leads into that. So the Mets will start at 6:10pm

6:10, first pitch. And the second half of the season begins with air quality issues in northeast. I was wondering because a couple of years ago when we had this, did they. Did they either move games or cancel games or postpone games because of air quality? I believe there were some that was postponed, whether it was Yankee Stadium or City Field. But I remember there was a couple of times where they were changing the start times or completely postponing them because like. Let's look. You've been outside. It's terrible. We walked out, remember last time.

Yesterday was worse.

And we could. It, it does have this feel of somebody just has a bonfire nearby.

And what really freaks me out about it is that if it's that bad with Canadian wildfires, my brain starts going to the scary places which is like just if scary things were to happen in the world, like unspeakable things, we would never want to happen, like in a remotely near proximity to how messed up the air would get and how quickly it would affect you.

That air didn't clear for a long time. Still getting illnesses and diseases and everything else from the air quality from down here where we are all from that time. So yeah, I mean look, it's freaky man. And it's supposed to rain this weekend. That's on my dirty Rain where the soot and ash are collected in the cloud or in the water. So you rain.

And like, apparently it like, yeah, your car will be covered with dirty rain. You know, it sounds like a single dirty rain.

Hey, guys. Always a pleasure to talk with you. Before I get into talking about the Knicks, I. Back in the 90s, early 90s, I worked for a radio station out in Las Vegas and they had just lost the Dodgers and they were talking about having either the Giants or the Arizona Cardinals. And I told them, you know what, you guys are crazy. Go get the Yankees. And they said, why? I said, there's a lot of New Yorkers here and everybody else hates the Yankees.

You'll get people. And so back in the 90s, they had a Yankee station in Las Vegas back then. Yeah, I know.

Makes sense.

Alan, I used to, I used to talk with you on the floor of the Garden because I was a building super and we get tickets to games and I, I enjoy playing GM with you. The last time I spoke with you, I had said that I thought signing Modi Awara was going to be a priority for the Knicks. And right after that, that show that day, they signed him to that. Yes, I thought. Yeah. And then you were asking me who I thought they would lose. And the first one I said is, I thought we might have to train my Miles McBride because he's up for a contract. We can't. We're not going to be able to pay him next year. And his skills are replaceable. You know, he's a backup point guard. He's a combo guard. And so we're able to replace those skills and daddier now if he doesn't get together, I don't, I don't think they're going to keep his option. They'll either trade him or they'll sign it. And do a sign and trade. If I'm the Knicks now, I'm looking to put two more centers on the roster. One who can either a, be our backup center or third center, depending on matchups with Drummond, and then the third to be a developmental center. And if either of them can play the four as well, that's okay, too. I think Cale is going to be a possible point guard for the future.

He's somebody to watch. I love that kid.

And you know, it's funny because the first two games, nobody was talking about the center position at all. And that's what I've been looking at. Like, I was thinking about a lot of guys. How are we going to replace it? And I realized we need two guys, one developmental and one who we believe can have a DOR type growth this year. And so that's the instance where I would trade McBride Deuce. Because if you're getting that kind of center for produce, it's worth it.

It's. You know what it is, Steve. Though it's also depends on what's available to you, like what can you get. And some trades maybe you don't make right away. You kind of. You don't want to give up an asset that quickly. You don't know what you're doing going forward with. With Deuce. I mean, you'll love him. He's. Again, he's one of the few. He might now be the most. The longest tenure, Nick, after Mitch is gone. And so with Deuce, it's. It's, you know, he still has value and you don't know what you can get. You got to see what you need. And I don't know if there's any, like, rush to do something now. I think Trey James might end up being that third center you're looking for. Like, they might just go with him because he's serviceable. He doesn't have to play a lot. You can rely on him. He's not. You're not going to lose him mentally if he doesn't play. And, and, you know, he's such a mean screen. He's a tough guy, you know, like, he might be a guy you just use as a third guy.

I was impressed with Neeson. Is it the guy from Vanderbilt?

Yeah. And they're not. Again, the Pelicans are not in the business right now of trading him.

So I'm here to talk about the jets radio situation that you guys were talking about a little bit before. Yeah, go for it. So I'm 24. I'm a little bit on the younger generation side, but I feel like the jets have a lot bigger issues going on with their franchise than worrying about the radio station. Obviously, I. A lot of people that I know and stuff, they watch their games on their phones. If they're out and about, or even if they're driving, they have playing on in the background. And if you're like a real die hard fan, at the end of the day, you got to find a way to watch the game if it's at your house, at a bar, just walking around watching it on your phone. So I feel like at the end of the day, also the radio station, they're going to talk about the Jets Even if the miracle that they do good, since I can't remember the last time they were good, I was third grade. But even if they're bad, you guys are going to talk about them because it brings in views.

Kyle, I got to be honest with you. No, it doesn't. The jets are one of the worst draws that we have when we talk sports. Like the Giants are a massive fan base that has a lot of passion. Yeah, the Yankees, the Knicks, the Mets. I would probably put the jets below all those teams when it comes to the amount of reaction you'll get. And it's usually the same people. So that part I disagree. What you said before though, Kyle, what you said before, a smart thing. Say it again. Most people will use what most people listen to the game.

Most people use their phone to watch the game, even if they're driving to have it in the background.

[A]

And Kyle, we told the Jets. Think about this. We told the jets that staying with us gets you not just the radio signal, the old traditional radio signal. Our app is where you'll get exclusive content and our app is where your game will also be broadcast, which the whole generation, yours included, is listening to the games that way, either in the car, wherever it is. That's how they're going to consume the game. Not as much on the antenna anymore. That's changing in our business. And the jets said no. And that doesn't make sense to me. So a rock station that doesn't have any of that stuff, you're not going to. You don't care. But we're providing it for you.

And obviously you saw when that game, when Rogers was coming for his first game, the hype that was around the jets, because I would have won't expect them to be good. Of course they weren't.

And you saw MetLife when Breeze broke off that run before Rogers hurt himself, that electricity. So let's just say the miracle, they're good this year, which obviously been a jeopardy my whole life. They will not, I can promise you that. But the miracle, that's a good. Or if they get Arch Manning next year or whoever it is that saves their franchise. Hopefully you don't think that the Jet fans will come out of the woodworks and maybe half the Mets or half the Giant program doesn't work out and harbor doesn't work out. You don't think that's slightly possible at all?

You think if they see you're talking about they'd have to have like a championship level season. They're not passing them.

I don't think they have to have a championship level season. I just think like if they're good, like they make the playoffs on maybe a consistent basis.

The Mets are still a bigger story than the jets but regardless I don't know if they're a bigger story when they're bad in August and September but the Mets still are a bigger deal

We knew that already. Right. You're still expecting the jets to be a losing team because five and a half, even if you took the over six, like it doesn't matter. But when we were thinking about this. So they were three and 14 last year it was minus 140. Favoring the under back in February, the under of five and a half. We are now at minus 120 for the over Jet optimism.

So it's expected now to hit the over.

It's not that it's expected. It's what the public is putting their money on. People are saying, I think the jets are going to be better than a five. It's five win team. They were three win team. Look, it's going to be hard to be as bad as they were last year. It takes an effort. Hey, hey, you know what? They're up to it. Are you telling me the jets are just.

Hey, that's the New York Jets.

Oh, but think about this. They. The jets have only cleared their win total twice since 2017. That's how bad they've been. They've only been better twice than the previous year. That's pretty pathetic.

Like, how many times have they been in? Over twice. But people think they will now. Here's why. Because in February, you didn't know what was coming in the draft and in free agency. But then you saw what Muji did in free agency in the draft and you said, you know, they've got a lot of talent on this team and the only thing that matters is Geno Smith. In my opinion, their secondary is way better. Like the Giants wish they had that secondary. They have a lot of skill on the offensive side and they have a really solid offensive line. I think they were smart and they beefed up the defensive line, especially down the middle. They got a couple of really good tackles. They've got a bunch of guys who can get you on the edge that, you know, again, have to show out. But there's still better potential in them. I think the biggest question marks about the jets are what will Geno Smith be? What? What?

Yeah, what will he be?

I'll say.

And the coach. That's it, right? The biggest question marks are those two areas Is Aaron Glenn a coach or is he going to lose more games this year because he's not prepared or his team's not prepared? And is Geno Smith good enough to be a capable. You don't even need to be great. Is he a capable quarterback? Those are the two things. But it feels like there is a jet optimism when it comes to people that are putting the money on the over.

That is weird.

And Only twice since 2017 have they been a team that has gone over. What is that?

[C]

Bart Scott can't be affecting the world that much.

[A]

Bart is one. How about Mike Tenenbaum? Listen to what he said earlier today with Jake Asmon, who was filling in on the Michael K Show.

You think about guys like Kenyon, Sadiq, Mason, Taylor, I think those tight ends have a chance to be a big part of the offense. You know, if you look at Frank's history and how he likes to incorporate the tight ends, it's, you know, pretty significant. So look, we'll see how it goes. But if, you know, seeing more and more teams, you 12 personnel, you know the Rams that were a top five offense a year ago, Sean McVay used three tight ends more than any other team. So I think we're seeing a little bit more of a pivot towards that. So I'm bullish on the offense and I think if you get those, you got two tight ends that can block and make plays in the passing game, you become very hard to defend.

So Mike T. Really feels good about what the jet offense can be. I still say I need to know what Geno Smith is going to be. And the only thing I've really heard about Geno Smith in his off season is things that come from the police blotter. Not all his fault, but still speeding, you know, a couple of times that's not a great thing. So that's a big question mark. But how about what he says on this question? Mike Tannenbaum, who again was longtime executive in the NFL for the jets and the Dolphins. He was asked a simple question and think about how you would answer this question. Peter okay, going into the season, just for this season, would you take Geno or Jackson Dart?

It's probably closer than people think and here's why, like I'm bullish on Jackson Dart. You and I talked about him quite a bit. Until he can prove that he can play in 17 games, that is part of the skill set of playing the quarterback position. So look, for the next 10 years, no question we're taking Jackson Dart. I want to See what he looks like. I want to see what he looks like in this offense which is going to have some Brian Callahan, some Greg Roman and some Mike Bloomgren, some Matt Nagy. You know, I think it's going to be a little bit more run focused but Jackson Dart has to do a much better job of taking care of himself because I think to Bart's point, I think there's a much better chance of Geno Smith being there for 17 games than dart.

[A]

And so he's worried about Dart keeping himself healthy, which I think we almost assume too much going into this year. Part of me is, I think part of that problem of why I had so much Giants optimism because you're looking at a team, all right, Dart comes in, you've got a capable coach. Scatter will be healthy. They've added a couple of pieces on the offense. The offensive line continues to get better. You know, the defense has made some adjustments, but they have guys can get after the quarterback. You know, I expect them to be a good team. But then we're assuming Jackson darts going to play the whole season and what Mike T. Saying is I don't know if he's going to. Is he going to change the way he plays? So when it comes to the money start money stuff, when it comes to the over under. So we talked about the jets. So now this is just through BetMGM. This is what they have. So the Giants over under is seven and a half. The over for them is the most bet NFL win total so far this offseason. 91% of the wagers, 94% of the money is on the giants over seven and a half.

You know, they're. First of all, Malik neighbors is still a huge question mark. Did they have a draft that blew your mind? Did they have a free agency that blew your mind?

Well, they had a good draft.

Yeah, but not, not like one that blew your mind.

And free agency wise, you still are wondering about their secondary which feels like the biggest weakness on the team. The to me on offense.

Well, one weapon I think, I think it's the Dart thing and I've been trying to say this so you think

it's Harbaugh and Dart, though. And people just think they're going to be at least eight wins, if not more.

[C]

Now. This is just Dart gm But still, it's a sample size.

And I think it's that thing that I've been saying repeatedly, which is those who know think dart could turn out to be good still.

But could, could. They're not sure, but those who are fans and don't really know but are betting with their heart, they think they already found their quarterback.

They're going into the year going, no, no, we found the guy.

And if you listen to Jordan Ronan, who nobody knows the team better.

His feeling is there could be something

Whereas I think the fans, Allen, and the people who bet and get hyped up, they're already like, no, we saw it. And next year they're getting neighbors back and they're getting scat back and we got Harbaugh, we found the quarterback. Whereas I think we're going, this is a, this is a show me here. They think that last year was the show me.

Everybody betting with their heart or some people just looking at a team that was. That gave away a lot of games, coaching was bad, and now they've got a guy that's a resume coach who's a factor. Change that factor. So you could say those games they gave away. I know Don always pushes back because he's like, who's to say that they would win that? Right. It's the fallacy of the predetermined outcome that you guys always talk about.

He loves the fallacy of the predetermined outcome.

But the point, I think, is that maybe there are people that look at that number and say, no, no, they're going to hit the over. But just because of the coaching. Anthony, is it just because of the coaching? I know you're pessimistic with the Giants, but does Harbaugh give you any movement whatsoever?

Well, we haven't done the win, loss, win, loss, loss, loss, win, game yet. And I told you guys when I saw the schedule and I look at it, it's to my right here.

[A]

I optimistically can say that I could see seven to eight wins. So I don't know if I would Bet Nova and under, because I'm kind of in between on that.

[A]

Well, seven to eight puts you right there.

[E]

It puts you right there. But they're betting over. So people think that if I'm betting, and I'm more conservative when I bet, if I bet, if I think they're winning eight games, I'm not putting a large amount of money on the fact that I think they're going to hit the over. I think that means that they think they can win. People that are doing this think they can win nine games, 10 games.

And I don't see that just based on the way the schedule looks. And we all know what happens when you just take a look at a schedule and you don't.

What are they? AFC North? Who are they?

[E]

No, they're. They're NFC west, which is obviously not great. And then AFC south, which isn't the cupcake that it used to be, but

it's not that bad.

[E]

You know, you have Daniel Jones late in the year. You have Trevor Lawrence, you get the Texans early week seven, and you have the Titans in week three. That's the game you hope we talked about. If you're 2 and 2 coming off of Cowboys, Rams, Titans, Cardinals, with three of those games being at home, you probably take that, depending on what it looks like. As long as you're not getting blitzed 40 to nothing by Dallas. I'm not going to. I'm not going to get discouraged because I've been. I've been negative, as you guys say. I use the term right. Because everybody else picked higher win totals over the last three or four years. And I've kind of given you exactly what I think they're going to be. And my optimism simply comes from what a lot of the things that you guys said. They have a better coach, and with a better coach, maybe they win one or two more games last year. That gets you to six wins already.

[A]

Yeah.

Without doing anything else. And we could talk about Malik Neighbors not being there for Jackson Dart. Malik Neighbors wasn't there for Jackson Dart last year and they have likely now. And they've added better wide receivers that can compliment Neighbors when he's back and are just better overall than the guys that they had, other than Wanda Robinson that were there already. Can this offense be good? Yes, if Jackson darts healthy. And that's a big if, as Peter knows. Same thing with his commanders and Jaden Daniels. Without it, you're a completely different team. But am I going to sit here and once again say I think this team's Going to win three or four games and they stink and it's never going to get better. If you can't have optimism this year, and I'm not talking about winning a Super bowl, if you can't have optimism that's going in the right direction and six, seven or eight wins isn't possibly on the table, then I don't know what the point of signing John Harbaugh to a five year extension was anyway.

Yeah, well, but it is. It is part of a five year plan and it's not all his guys. So what is success then? If we're just looking at it, if this is just a Harbaugh bump and there's just people that have optimism because it's like when you bring in a brand name coach, you just expect that, okay, we got an adult in the room, we got a guy who's, who knows what he's doing and now everything's going to go right. We're not going to give games away anymore. What is success in year one? Here's what Mike T. Said, establish credibility.

I think John's a great coach. I think he's the right coach at the right time and I think if we're talking about a successful season for them, Jake, you and I will be talking about the end of the halves, the penalties, the turnovers. Look, without malik neighbors, they're going to have to play differently early. Like they added a lot of guys. But the Smith schusters and the OBJs, they're not Malik neighbors. And I don't know where their explosive plays are going to come from. You know, this was a team that struggled against the run a year ago. They moved on from Dexter Lawrence. So there are questions. But I think John Harbaugh will certainly tighten up the ship and you know, they'll look and feel differently than they did a year ago.

Credibility, probably the most important thing for either franchise, the jets or the Giants, to find themselves just earning that. As Don likes to say, I just want to be back in the league.
