How about a little game time brought to you by Tullamore new Irish Whiskey. Because when it's game time, it's. It's Dolly time. The Knicks, the Knicks are in Miami facing the heat with coverage immediately following us right here on 880@7. Of course, you can watch Alan Hahn on MSG as well. Breaking it all down to a fine powder, Tullamore. Due the original triple distilled, triple blended and triple cast matured Irish whiskey. Be sure to grab a Tullamore do or try the new Tullamore Dew. Honey. During today's action, glasses up to enjoying Tullamore Dew responsibly. Nothing sadder guys when you root for a team than seeing a little message that pops up the commanders posted roster update. And then it's the obligatory we have released kicker Matt Gay. Like the day after the kicker just blows a game and you know the next it that does make that job, you know, the worst in pro sports kicking. I mean I know it's great in that you don't get beat up and you don't have to deal with some of the things other people deal with. But Alan, there are very few jobs where you could have like one really bad day and they're just like, thanks, it's been real, buddy.
A
So the worst position of the four major sports.
C
Well, hold on. It depends on what we're that this is now. Now you're getting deep.
A
Now I'm not talking about the worst to play. I'm talking about like what you're saying. It's the one where you can be pressures on you and you are like you are bought and sold every day.
C
I think barely even people. And then you have that part.
A
Yeah, you have that where you're not respected either because like think about it. Everybody loves the backup quarterback, the backup goalie, right? They're always the most popular guy. Yeah, like that's, that's got to be it, Don. But I can't think of another position. No, it's that you are just disposable.
B
There is no other position that is as unique as the kicker there. Because he's really not a football player like everybody else has to deal with contact in some way shape or form. They've got plays, they've got to know. A kicker comes out. Doesn't matter what size he is. All he has to do is kick and so you wonder, is he respected in the room as an actual teammate?
A
The good ones are.
B
And there are, but there it is. Did you fit, you succeeded or you failed? Yes, sometimes it's the snap, but most times it's, you know what, you, you weren't able to get the job done.
A
Yeah.
B
Everybody else kind of point the finger. Yeah, that corner. Yeah. Well, Winston threw the interception, but it was a wrong route. There's a million other reasons why the mistake could have been made. No, you, you missed the kick and now you're gone. And that's why even the best of them end up on six or seven teams when, when it's all said and done and they get cut and, and boy, like closers and relief pitchers in baseball, they can lose it in a nanosecond.
A
Yeah, it just goes away. You don't even know why KU was.
B
Nailing like 60 yard field goals in Atlanta. You know, now he's barely hanging on.
A
Think about the jets. Have Nick Folk back for a second run at the end of his career. Seven years old, right, right when he was there the first time around. Rex was the coach and they were winning games and he was. Remember Rex used to call him folk hero. He would make big kicks, then he went to other teams and he was good and then he just lost it. And then he comes to the jets and it's like he found it again. Like it's, it's. You really, you can't predict it, you don't know, but you know, the good ones can stay with the team and you can actually, you know, buy a house in that town. But, but for the most part, if you're a kicker, you know, you got a lease, you got a short term lease and you hoping that you can re. You need to renew that lease in three months because you need another three months because you actually get to stay and because you've had enough success, most of the time you're not living in whatever city it is that you're kicking in.
C
Also though, I mean, the good news. Here's the good news. Kickers, you don't really have to do anything because I watched a game yesterday where the team just went back and forth. Don, I'm talking about chip shots to win the game at the goal line. Under five minutes, tied game, go for it on fourth and get stopped.
A
Sure.
C
What are we doing? I know, I know I'm supposed to wait for Tuesday, but can you guys just tell me what are we doing?
B
The.
C
My team could have won the game if they had just kicked A field goal from like 25 yards.
A
Peter, do you remember those days when we talked somewhere in September about all these 60 plus yard field goals and thinking nobody's ever, everybody's just going to kick now. They're always going to kick because they can kick 60 yarders now and the kickoff game's going to change and we were worried that there'd be too many kicks. That was the torpedo bat of the NFL. Can I get the stats in September?
C
Can I get the stats on number of kicks? Kofi, where are we at with this number of kicks through this point in the season compared to other years? I'm very curious.
A
Oh, that's a good one.
C
Because it's. We weren't the only game like that. There were multiple games like that yesterday and throughout the last several weeks where now it's just basically like you can't ever settle for three, even if it's going to be to go up three. But you have so little faith in your defense that if you kick the ball off, you know they're scoring seven on you and you're losing.
A
All right, you say this, but we had five games that a game winning score in the final play and they were all field goals. Dolphins in overtime, right?
C
Oh, we have some coming up in the binge.
A
Yeah, Bears, right? Panthers. That was quite an ending that. Panthers, Falcons.
B
That was something.
A
And then Texans. Right. And obviously then of course Denver. So while you like you, you're seeing, it's like, it's so crazy. You're not wrong. I don't know, Don, did you see it the same way? Because I felt like, man, there's just an inordinate amount of go for it on fourth downs happening here and Brandon Stanley's not coaching anywhere but yet there still are game winning field goals being kicked all over the league. In fact, there's five of them.
B
But the win was really bad in Philly last night and New York, really bad in New York yesterday. So that, and you wonder sometimes these games. That was the first game ever in Madrid. So Peter, I don't know how much. I don't think a lot more than I did.
C
I don't think it was a win situation.
B
No, but, but the turf because they, they, they play on soccer field. So was there any.
C
No, no. Oh, we didn't know they soccer field.
A
Oh no, no. They put, actually they put in a field. Yeah, they put down, down.
C
It was insane. They literally take the Real Madrid field. The stadium opens up, it goes underground. The field goes underground, Don, into an underground greenhouse where it lives crazy.
B
I think they do something similar in Arizona, right?
A
No.
B
Well, that the trail tracks out to the parking lot. So how sun can get.
A
Yes, yes, but it's very similar. But to go underneath the ground, Vegas.
C
Has something like that. But the greenhouse underground to protect. Let me tell you one thing. Whatever they're doing in Vegas, respectfully, or Arizona, I guarantee you the care ain't nothing like what they're putting in for real Madrid.
A
Oh no.
C
I guarantee you that.
A
No.
C
But no. And Alan, we're both right because yes, kicks still happen. But the truth is, if you have a lot of close games, let's be realistic. Normally in close games they all close with kicks. That's what we were always used to. The part that I couldn't get over was that in a game where neither offense was great, the final score of the game I'm talking about was 1613. This wasn't some huge offensive output.
A
So.
C
So why can't a coach, Dan quinn or Mike McDaniel just say, oh, we're going to kick a field goal here. Over and over, I think three different times teams were stopped on fourth down inside the three yard line. That's just it. That's. It's just weird, man. So who is the cream of the crop to you? Allen Hahn? I told you. To me, when you look at this league and it is wide open, if you haven't seen the news, as of today at 5 and 5, the Kansas City Chiefs are on the outside looking in, which is a crazy thing. The Ravens are obviously on the outside looking in. In the nfc. The, the Lions are on the outside looking in. You know, Green Bay's hanging in at the 6, but right now it is not the version of the NFL we've seen before where you absolutely know we're on a collision course to the Chiefs versus so and so. It is much more open this year to me. Alan, you have to at some point, no matter how ugly they win. And there have been multiple times this year when it has been ugly, I have to give it up for the world champs like they are that for a reason.
A
They find a way.
C
This has been year after year. This isn't just happening right now. Every year they find ugly ways to win and it ends up leading to like 13 or 14 of them wins and then they go into the playoffs and are very, very hard to beat. So to me, I at this point, given that they have the title, someone's got to come get it. To me, they are the cream of the crop in the NFL and they.
A
Added to their defense, which made it even tougher.
B
Right?
A
Like, like their front, their front seven is impenetrable. Like, like you can't run against them. They put pressure on your quarterback. Their secondary is, is good enough. They are, they are really tough. And even when they have a petulant wide receiver who can't help but try to ruin things with his mood, what do they do? They force feed him. Oh, you're not getting enough pass. I'll tell you what, in this game, we're going to exhaust you with targets. And it's not that nobody knew that was coming, but they did it and they still are able to figure out a way to win the game. So I'm with you on the Eagles, but there are flaws with that team, which is why I'm not going to pick them.
C
Okay?
A
And I'm going to tell you that the team that I feel like I have the most confidence in is the LA football Rams. Because again, it's, it's, you know, confidence comes from demonstrated performance. It's a head coach that certainly can out coach most of the guys that he goes up against with his strategy because he's a psycho. It's a. Defense doesn't get enough credit and it's the MVP of the league right now throwing a football with, you know, a very good plethora of skill players around him. So I look at them as a dangerous, dangerous team when you get to the postseason, especially if they get home field.
B
And we thought that last year too. Didn't we have that conversation last season, Peter, that the Rams might be that sneaky good team and they almost beat the Eagles.
C
They were right there.
B
I think they beat the Eagles if it doesn't start to snow.
C
It felt that way.
B
Didn't it feel that way?
C
And then he got away from it.
A
Stafford just wasn't the same. Right. Once it got real messy. Wasn't the same.
C
God. And they. Because it is interesting, you look at this team over the last several years and while no one's confusing them with the Chiefs or the Eagles or even the Bills, but they really are right there. The Rams, with the exception of one year over the last four or five years, they're always there. They took one year off, basically injuries. Stafford had issues and then came right back to it. And they're consistently there. Which, by the way, you got to give McVeigh a lot of credit.
A
It's again, he's a psycho. He's like what Jon Gruden was supposed to become.
C
It's a great Take.
A
Which is why, if you're a Giants fan, not to get back on the Giants because it's, it's, it's too depressing of a topic. But if you're a Giants fan and you think Jon Gruden is the right coach for you, then you, you. You're looking for the movie. You're not really looking for reality. Because Jon Gruden, the character, the voice, the sneer, the attitude, the way he talks, like the whole thing about him, I get it, it's a fun movie when he's the character. But the real person hasn't won in the NFL. Like, real winning and organizing a franchise and getting guys to buy in, none of that's happened in 20 years. And the super bowl, he won, that everybody's bragging about was won by somebody else. That was someone else's team. He came in and took over for Tony Dungy because they had to make a coaching change and he just had to be in the right place at the right time. But you cannot tell me that a guy that, because you like his voice and his attitude and the sneer and the look and all that stuff, you can't tell me that that's the guy you want to give your franchise to and think it's going to magically work. There's not enough resume there for me for this job. So that's why McVay is the great example of the guy who has the respect of his players, who also makes quick decision on players, too, when he starts to see it go wrong. And by the way, I was told devonte Adams was done. In fact, I saw it when he wore a Jets jersey. He looked done. Does he look done?
C
No, no, he doesn't.
A
He looks very much not done. They moved Taco Bell to LA for him in the, in the locker room this time, by the way, which is very impressive. But like that, like, that's what I mean. You can take a player that looks cooked, put them in your system, and now he's. No, no, he's still got a lot, a lot of tire left in that tread. Why? Because he's got buy in. Because he gets into the system. He looks. When he goes, oh, no, no, this is what it's supposed to look like. I'm a little more motivated now. It's just different. And that's why the Rams look like that team and nobody's really talking about them. You know, we do have our focus on other things because you know why they're doing things very boring right now with the Rams they aren't really a big story aside from Stafford and being 37 years old and still playing at a high level. That's why I got the Rams guys.
B
The two things with the Rams obviously is the health of Stafford, which all goes away. And they only have a one game lead in their division now. They just, you know, beat Seattle. They got to play Seattle again.
A
Yep.
B
And I'm just looking at Seattle's schedule and you know, both teams have a, not, not a tough schedule. But taking a look at Seattle's schedule coming up here, they're at Tennessee, home against the Vikings, at Atlanta, home against Indy, home against the Rams, at Carolina, at San Francisco. So there's some wins, not easy, but there are, there are a couple of.
A
By the way, the New York Bowl. I didn't realize that the Colts were going to play Seattle. How about the Darnold versus Daniel Jones game?
B
How about that?
A
Yeah, can we, can we get that in New York? I wonder if that game will be in New York.
B
But that's why I love your pick of the Rams, because there's pedigree there.
A
Yep.
B
And the coaches won. And these teams, as we get down, they could be included with the Eagles and the Chiefs of, you know, they've been there, done that. They know, you know. Does Seattle know anymore, you know, of how it is to win in the big spot? I mean, we saw, no, it wasn't all Sam's fault, but we saw when Minnesota had their chance against the big bad Detroit Lions, they lost that game at the end of the regular season that cost them and then they lost to him in the playoffs. Right. So that the Rams, Seattle's kind of in the same boat, like, you know, back in the old days with a legion of boom. You'd say, oh yeah, for sure they're going to be ready. But are they going to be ready in the big spot here down the stretch to win that division, even though they're only a game back and they've got a home game against the Rams and they played them tough yesterday, as you said. When, when, when, when it comes time in that big spot. I'm probably going to bet the Rams in the big spot to win that division and take it. You got to be looking at the teams that have won recently that are going to know how to do it. It's it, it's the Reindeer Games, the winning game. September, October, you know, midway through November now, it's getting cold now. It means a lot of. And can you do it?
A
They've outscored teams by 100. There's only two other teams that have done that like, and I do believe in it. In a year. Tell me if, tell me if this theory's off. Guys, in a year like this that we're talking about where you do have parity, where you do have. A lot of teams are sort of in the same bunch, that no one's really the obvious choice. Everybody has a flaw. The Eagles are the defending champs and they're very much at the top. But when you look at it, then you say, okay, if everybody's on fairly level playing ground when it comes to playoff teams, then give me the coaching staff and the coach that has the resume, the experience and a system that we know can win. Because I just feel like those coaches then will have their teams ready to go. And then even when you have even games, you always give me coaching. Coaching is the tiebreaker in even games, in my opinion.
C
Now you know, it's the tiebreaker in my life. Guys, therapy.
B
No. Okay.
A
Yeah.
C
Now I have an ad by Better Help. Guys, because November. Just call two five zero and say the keyword timeout. That's keyword timeout. After calling pound two five zero, now we were talking Rams. Let's go to Griffin in Connecticut. What's up, Griff?
B
There you go.
A
Hey. Hey guys. I think the Rams are that team to beat. And the reason why they don't turn over the football, what they do is they force you into turning over the football. They have forced a lot of turnovers this year. And Matthew Stafford right now is playing video game numbers. These are. This, these numbers are ridiculous of what he's doing. It's 22 straight touchdown, 22 touchdowns, no interceptions in his last something games. Seven games. Video game numbers, seven games. That's crazy. No, what Griff's saying is, is accurate.
C
Wild.
A
22 passing touchdowns without an interception over the last seven games. That's historic video game numbers. That. The thing is they have Sam Donald's number, so they. I feel like already are going to win that division because I think they can meet the Seahawks again. They have Sam Darnold's number. Look at the playoffs game last year and look at this year. He has struggled when he plays Sean McMahon, the Rams, he had four, four picks. The last time Sam threw four picks was the Seeing Ghost game.
C
A. Griffin.
A
Griff. Yeah. Yeah. Peter, when you.
C
What?
A
Peter?
C
Yeah? When you. When you. When you hear. When you hear this.
A
What?
C
Peter, what is that? What? What do you hear when you hear that?
A
I don't know.
C
To me it sounds like you were about to push me up against the wall.
A
Yeah.
C
Take my lunch money and send me home crying. That's what it sounds like.
A
Yeah.
C
Okay.
A
I would not do that to you.
C
Well, thank you, Griffin.
B
We love.
C
That's very sweet.
A
Didn't hear what you said.
C
No, listen. Oh, see, that's why you said what?
A
Peter.
B
No, come on, you gotta own it, Griff.
C
Yeah, Griff, come on.
B
You showing it, you.
A
I love it. I love Griff showing a little aggression.
B
That was not. Excuse me. You say that. Say again? Pardon? No, that was. What?
A
What? Peter. Yeah. Get away.
C
Get away.
A
We love you.
C
We. We love you, Griff.
B
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Well, he's the kind of guy that probably feels it's. It's bad to lose your temper and be mad at.
C
So, you know he feels bad now, right? That, like in that moment when I said something, he just wanted to grab me by the throat and say, what?
A
Peter? Yeah.
B
You want to own that?
C
I mean, he might as well have said McFly and knocked on my forehead that. I mean, he was one notch from. Hello? McFly.
A
Anybody home? Right there, right there.
B
Now, the thing with the Rams is, can they win in Philly? They couldn't do it last year in the playoffs there. One of their two losses came in Philly this year. Although that was A crazy game. The Philadelphia had to like what it was a two block kicks to win that game. Yeah, that's the test. Because this dynamic offense and all that, if they've got to go play a game in Philly the way they had to do it last year in the playoffs where it's cold and snow or freezing rain, that would be interesting to.
A
See, which is why they need the home field telling you, yeah, that is.
B
Going to be a big deal. Now, do I think Philly can go to LA and win? Yes, I do.
C
Well, no, Philly you believe can go anywhere and win.
B
Yeah, the Rams go to Philly and win. I'm not sure.
A
And you know what else, too, that we all hate, but we know is the weapon in the playoffs especially, is every time the Eagles need just one yard, they'll probably get it. Every time they need it, they're going to get it. And that's something we do. We almost underestimate or underplay the value of the tush push when it comes to playoffs, but underplay it.
B
But go ahead. You know, these leagues get together before the playoffs start. Could that end up being something that works against the Eagles? Well, all of a sudden, now they're seeing the false start. All of a sudden they're calling the. Because you know they're going to try to be as buttoned up in the postseason as possible.
C
Good.
B
You know the one o' clock regional game. Yeah, listen, we missed it. Do you think they're gonna get together and say, let's pay attention to this.
A
I like this, Don. I see what you're doing. This will be the officiating point of emphasis for the playoffs. Right?
B
Exactly.
A
And the first time they try it, they're gonna throw a flag. Sirianni is gonna lose his mind. Right. And now all of a sudden, their weapon is taken from them.
B
Don't rule it out, man.
A
Oh, I like this. Darth Vader's arm is cut off. The saber goes flying.
C
Now, Dom, by the way, you haven't given us your team yet, have you?
A
I thought you said the Chiefs. Oh, no, no, that's right. No, you gave us your team in the bubble, right?
C
Yeah. You didn't say on the other side. Let's take a break. We got to do the binge, though.
A
We got the binge.
C
You want to think on it, Don?
B
Yeah, well, I will think of it. I'll chew on it. All right?
C
Because I'm feeling. I'm feeling the Eagles, which is unfortunate, because I hate them with a virulent passion. I did. They made me sick to my stomach. This is an ad by BetterHelp. Shorter days don't have to be so dismal. It's time to reach out and check in with those you care about and to remind ourselves that we're not alone. Pre kids in my underwear.
A
The NFL binge.
C
You watch every game. You ready? Are you watching? You guys ready for the NFL binge born, Peter. No, don't yell at me. Griffin.
A
Whoopee do.
C
I'm very excited about it. Don, how are you feeling?
A
Terrific.
C
Richard of Manhattan. Hi, Richard. All right. We do it every single Monday at this time. Catch you up with everything else that happened in the league. Maybe you were locked into the Repug Giants game. It actually wasn't even that Repug.
B
Oh, I would disagree.
C
I think it was a bit of a game. I enjoyed it. You got to spend. If you get to play an upper echelon team in the conference and be in that game until the last drive, it may not be enough for Anthony Pusick. I think for the average.
B
Yo yo.
A
Not too bad.
B
And I wasn't a big fan of Drew Brees, but I thought he had a really good game.
C
On the call, you mean?
A
Yes. Yeah, he was pretty good. He knew Jameis, so he had that, you know, connection, which was good. Little monotone, but not bad.
C
All right, guys. Five teams recorded the game winning score on the final play Sunday, which is tied with Nov. 12, 2023 and Sept. 30, 2018 for the most on a single day in NFL history. Here's a few of them. In Madrid, it was the Dolphins coming out on top in overtime against my Kamis. They bring on Patterson to try and win this thing.
A
This will be a 29 yard field goal attempt, fully down. Kick is up and the kick is good. Dolphins win it in Madrid.
B
Now give me some background on that.
C
Which part?
B
Like who is on the call?
C
That would be a big 105.9 in Miami.
A
Local. Yeah, go ahead. That's their local radio call.
B
I. I don't feel. Doesn't it feel like they weren't there?
A
Oh, they weren't there.
C
They bring on Patterson to try and win this thing.
A
This will be a 29 yard field goal attempt. Horizontal kick is up and the kick is good. Dolphins win it in Madrid. I mean, in Madrid. But here's the thing.
B
Well, the Dolphins won it in Madrid. He was. He was back at.
C
What was the part that gave it away for you? Why did you. Why did you feel so strongly?
B
It just. I. I didn't get any sense of the moment at all. First of all, it was a chip shot field goal. So you know he's going to get.
C
Yeah, I was about to say there was no moment. I was watching. I wasn't watching. I'm sorry. I. I was. If you Want to know the truth, Don? I was on my iPad, sitting on the can, and guess what? Turned it off and said, I'd rather finish my business than watch this.
B
Because, all right, no matter what, if it's a game winning field goal attempt, no matter where it is, there's gonna be some drama to it. But it's almost like, all right, we're gonna go. And then. Then it's good. And it's a. Wow, it's gone.
C
Like, why?
B
Why was there no build up to they're about to win the game. And I'm just thinking maybe it was the frustration not being there.
C
Could it be he's a complete hack?
B
No.
A
Maybe it's two announcers that wanted the coach fired, and they're like, this guy's gonna win again.
B
No, no, they're. I'm telling me they're getting ready, man. They're selling playoff tickets. They're getting ready.
A
I know.
C
You know when it went. When the game went to overtime, after both teams had no interest in winning in regulation, when it went to overtime, the Dolphins deferred and I went, oh, that's an interesting choice. Deferring overtime, I respect. It also shows you really know that the commanders can't score. And what does Marcus Mariota do after Peter Rosenberg and Alan Hahn have glazed them all season as a great backup? Drops back first throw in overtime, intercepted. I mean, that is as bad as it gets.
A
You know what? That screams career backup. Don't even.
C
By the way, I gotta tell you, it's a great point by Allen. You've been very good today. That's another astute point.
A
But. But like that, like a guy that still, you would think, one more chance.
C
And then people watching, they've gone, hey, you know what? This team's bad. I gotta tell you, Mariota's pretty good. What's he doing in overtime? Oh, he decided to go over the middle of the field where a corner was guarding Zach Ertz. Oh, right to the corner. Oh, that's not what you want. All right, let's keep going here, guys.
A
What else we got?
C
That's Riley Patterson with the big game winner for Miami. But are the Bears for real?
A
Oh, God, they may be.
C
Out of the hole to Tori Taylor. Right hash light angle left from 49. Cairo Santos, the eight on his white jersey awaiting the snap. Snap is back.
A
Hold is good.
C
Sweeps the right leg. Cairo Santos is up. He's gone.
A
That's the way to make a kick.
C
Called good from 48. You're not wrong. Cairo Santos knocks in the 48 yarder. As time expires, Bears win 1917 over the Vikings. But Bears head coach Ben Johnson says there is more work to do.
A
Guys, we're mid season right now, so we're not even looking at that.
C
We've earned seven wins so far and.
A
We'Re really looking for the opportunity to go one and oh, next week.
C
Now, I almost took the Bears. Were they two and a half point favorites or dogs in Minnesota? They were dogs, weren't they?
A
I thought they were favorites.
C
Well, if they're favorites, and I know the number was two and a half and that means they came up just short.
A
Just short.
C
Man, Vegas is good.
A
So, so there's two things with the Bears, right? Because they're one of those teams, they're seven and three. So you would think, all right, they have one of the better records in the nfc. And you, and you asked that, you said, are they for real? They were trailing in this game. They got 20. They got 19 points. They get to 20 points. But Ben Johnson, as a head coach and an offensive genius, he will get you the game winning drive because they've done it five times, trailing in the last two minutes.
C
That's what they do.
A
It's what it's. But that's. See again, to me, that's coaching. That's coaching like we gotta win. I can script the drive to get us, to get us into position to win the game, to either kick or get the touchdown. They've done it five times, so five of the seven wins had to come from behind.
C
And by the way, late in the game, it was the Vikings as a short favorite. So that would have been a winner if you took the Bears.
A
Well, they were.
B
That's right.
C
Yeah. The Bears and the Broncos making a statement against the Chiefs. Jeremy Crawshaw will hold it. The snap from Mitchell for Boni on the way from 35. It is good. And the Denver Broncos have won at the gun. Will Lutz as time expires. Denver 22:19 win. The great Steve Levy.
A
That was phenomenal, that call.
C
I wanted Steve Levy, for God's sake.
A
They wanted the gun. He gave us a little, little rhyme.
B
Well, and, and so did Nance on tv. Did you hear Nance's call?
C
Did not Lutz in the clutch rhyme of Chase Corn?
A
Yeah, I had to sound down. Glad I did.
C
Hello, Fred, you're not a fan.
B
Don Levy nailed it.
A
Levy was good.
C
He's very, very good. All right. No last second magic for the Seahawks. This one to be decided by a field goal. One way or Another Jason Myers from 61 yards to win it with one second to go for the Seahawks. Snap, hold, and boot on the way. It's fading, right? It's bleeding, right? It's. No, that's a call. The Rams are in first place in the NFC West. Fantastic.
A
Did he say bleeding?
C
He said bleeding. He said fading and bleeding.
A
Love that. Oh, that's so good.
B
Very good.
A
Very good call.
B
We have breaking news.
C
Is this real? Is this real? Yeah, like the news you have. I mean, is it real? I care.
A
Is it Onion Shefter?
C
Here we go.
B
Adam Schefter has tweeted NFL suspended Bengals wide receiver Jamar Chase for spitting at the Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey.
A
That did have.
B
Chase denied spinning at Ramsey, but the league determined the video evidence was sufficient to warrant a suspension.
C
So Ramsey was kicked out of the game.
A
Yep.
C
But now Chase was suspended because, you.
B
Know, just the one game because, you.
C
Know, last week my boy Duron Payne on the commies got kicked out for punching a player.
A
But he got punched first.
C
But then. But did they. Did they ever go back and punish the other player who punched him first?
A
It's a good question, because I don't think they did.
C
And later in the week, everyone saw, oh, he was punched in the face first.
A
It's the retaliation, though.
C
But listen, here's. Here's. Here's Ramsey saying what happened with him and Jamar.
A
He spilled me, so I won't get football after that. Respectfully.
C
And Jamar, Chase said he didn't spit.
B
I ain't never opened my mouth to that guy.
C
So what do you think prompted the reaction from him?
A
Well, he don't like some of the worries.
B
I told him, I ain't spit on nobody.
A
No.
C
By the way, I may need that as a drop. I don't spin on nobody. Knowing now that you are patently lying is a good.
A
No, he's. I just has. I just have a lisp.
B
Yeah.
A
So I was talking suffering suck attack.
C
You think it was a suffering sucker bath moment?
B
I'm just saying he didn't like the things he was saying, and he just didn't like the. The feel of the things he was saying.
C
Speaking of things, I don't like the feel of a tush push. Nobody likes that, do they?
B
Nope.
C
Well, I mean, not me. Sunday Night Football and the Eagles. The Lions. No one's offense was explosive, but the Eagles did enough. They're going to line up right on the goal line and try and stop that push from coming in handling.
B
No, not even close.
C
Touchdown, Eagles Jalen hurts.
A
Wait a minute. That delivery was phenomenal.
B
The Eagle announcers have checked out on.
C
Yeah, they're done.
B
There it is. There's the evidence right there.
A
But how about the way he done. Come on. As an announcer, did you not appreciate how he was so dead? Can they know the way he did it was unreal. Excellent call.
B
They just. They're out.
A
They're checked out. They hate it. Too sad.
C
Apparently. It's possible that there was actually something technical wrong for during that game and the WIP team actually had music in their ears playing when it happened. So they could. They didn't. They didn't know what was going on. I think otherwise you would have gotten.
A
The more real thing.
C
Traditional Meryl Reese excitement.
A
Mmm. By the way, ESPN BET Sportsbook favorites to win the Super Bowl. All right. Updated odds.
B
Oh, okay. Oh, this is fun.
A
Do you want to guess who is.
B
Wrapped to the binge?
A
You. Oh.
C
Oh.
A
Well, do we still have time or.
C
We know we saw we have one more thing in the binge, but.
A
Oh, go. I'm sorry. I thought that was the last.
B
This could be. This could be a lot of fun.
A
I thought that was the last game.
B
That is.
C
No, no, you know, don't be sorry. That is absolutely the last game. The last cut I wanted to play though was just Dan Campbell over five the Lions on fourth down conversions.
A
There's some things I wish I would have done different.
C
Look, the bottom line is you. You obviously, if you go totally conservative in the way this game played out, in the way it was, you got a better chance of winning that game than some of those decisions I made. I understand that. But also, that's who we are.
A
It's who I am. And it bit us today.
C
What do you got, Alan? I, I like the sound of this. Give me those.
A
Who we are. It's who I am.
C
Hey, listen, you live with it and you die with it. But there are some days we've got.
A
We've got again the updated. Win the afc, win the NFC and then win the Super Bowl.
C
And you said you're doing this with ESPN bet still.
A
ESPN bet. I know. While. While it's still with us breathing.
C
All right.
A
We give it some.
B
Some energy mirror they're using to determine that. Or do you? I, I don't know.
A
I, I.
C
By the way, I should have mentioned earlier that today's binge is brought to you by our friends at Ramsey Mazda.
B
What are you doing?
C
But give it to us, Alan.
B
Give it. You breathe it.
A
Well, no, no. Besides Ramsey Moz, the The ESPN BET has deleted. I will give you each one guess at who is the odds on favor.
C
The Philadelphia Eagles.
B
Yeah. Eagles are favorites in the nfc.
A
Yeah, that is that. Well, just.
C
No, overall, gotta be the Eagles.
A
Yeah, it is the Eagles.
B
Gross, I thought it was afc.
A
Who is the. Who is the favorite?
C
Hold on. And what is. And what are the. Like, plus 200.
A
Plus 500.
C
Plus 500.
A
500 favorites.
C
Plus 500.
A
That says a lot.
C
That's a nice bet.
A
How about the AFC favorites to win the champion. To win the Super Bowl. What is the highest AFC team?
C
Who has the best odds?
A
The shortest odds for the AFC team to win The. To win.
C
I bet it's still the Chiefs.
B
You know, I, I think it's going to be the Broncos.
C
No, the. The Bills.
A
Wait, wait. Final answer.
C
I'm. Go ahead. Don's Broncos.
B
My final answer is Denver.
A
Denver. Peter, you gave me two teams.
C
I'm still going. Chiefs.
A
Peter wins plus 800.
C
Well, now, that's a great bet. You get to bet the Chiefs at plus 800.
B
Wait a minute.
C
What are you doing?
B
That is interesting.
A
So between the Eagles and the Chiefs is one NFC team at plus 550. So right on the heels of the Eagles. Rams.
B
Yeah.
A
Correct.
C
Charger is.
B
Listen, I understand that it's still the Chiefs and we were just talking them up when, when the push comes to shove, but they're three and a half games back at Denver. They're most likely not winning the division, so their path is going to be harder. They might have to play an extra game.
A
Yeah.
B
Exclusively on the road. And I know that they're defending AFC champions, but, and I listen, I think Denver, I'm not sure I trust them. But in that building, if they can, if they can get home field in a buy.
A
Well, that building with that defense, that building, that defense.
B
I understand they got a kid at quarterback, but they've got a former super bowl champion as a head coach.
A
Yeah. And they simplify it. Yeah, yeah.
B
I.
A
They're a lot to win the division. They're plus. They're minus 300 to win the division.
B
Denver is.
A
But The Chiefs are plus 500 to win the division.
B
Division.
A
So it's, it's, you know, like that's the next shortest odds to win that division. But I, I just find it interesting. Now, value wise, I'm gonna give you three options. The Bills are plus 850 to win the Super Bowl. You don't like that?
B
No.
A
The Lions are plus 900 to win the Super Bowl. Don't love that. I Mean, if I gave you the packers at 16 to 1.
B
Packers aren't going anywhere.
A
No. So we're not feeling it. So if you. So then Broncos are also 16 1, like the Patriots. Are any of those good value?
B
Yes, I think the Broncos are a good value.
A
Broncos at 16 to 1.
B
I think the Broncos are a good value because they're a team that could still get a buy. And I think that's a tougher place to play than Indiana.
A
Not only a buy, but a buy in a home game.
B
You know, listen, I know that they've got holes, but you got Sean Payton, you got a great defense, you got tremendous home field advantage and you may be playing one less game than everybody else.
A
And at home, your next game's at home. That's the thing. Your division games at home, division round. So. Yeah, but how about the Chiefs still having the third shortest odds.
C
Boy, you know what I appreciate about that? It's called Vegas. Just knowing what's actually up. Like we can show us numbers talk. Okay, five and five outside. Look, we've all been here. And by the way, let's not forget the Chiefs were sitting at 5 and 32 seconds ago. They lost a hard fought game at Buffalo. They always lose at Buffalo during the regular season. And then they lose by a field goal to their division rival, Denver. And now they're five and five. They're okay.
A
And they're. And they get to play them again.
C
Exactly. And they have. And they have a few easy games coming up as well to get.
B
Well, not next. I mean, they got the Colts, right? They're home against the Colts.
C
Can I say this is crazy. I, I think Colts at home in Kansas City is not a hard game.
A
That's saying a lot, man.
C
Listen, if it were in Indy, I might have a different conversation at Arrowhead. I. What's the line? And by the way, if I pick it, just bet the other way.
A
So here, go ahead, Donna, you got the schedule.
B
Just quickly. Home against the Colts.
C
Love it.
B
Thanksgiving at Dallas. Oh, win home against Texans. Home against Chargers at Titans. Win home against Denver at Raiders.
C
Yeah, they'll get to 10 and 7 or so and they'll get into wild card.
A
Yep, yep, exactly. They got to win that Denver game, obviously. But there's at least five. There's four wins for sure. You can put in Penn. And then the Denver game at home is.
C
And, and then there's one more. So I. They could get to 11. I bet they get to 10 and.
B
I think what do we got here at Commies for Denver? At Vegas, home against Green Bay, home against Jacksonville at Kansas City, and then home against the Chargers. So it looks like Denver's got a bit of an easier schedule. Yeah, Denver's gonna win that division, and I think they're gonna. I think they're gonna be the onesie. New England's gonna have something to say, the Colts are gonna have something to say, but Chiefs are going to be helping them out if they could beat the Colts.
C
What a potentially fun playoff. And you know what can make it extra sexy?
B
If.
C
If, for example. Humor me for a moment.
B
Sure, why not?
C
If the. The Chiefs come in, they sneak in and get a playoff spot towards the bottom, and the Ravens sneak in and get a spot and you get rid of, respectfully, the Jaguars. That's an entirely loaded feel. I mean, we're stuck with the Colts no matter what, and they're kind of, you know, they're okay, but I don't think anyone thinks they're special. No, but besides that. The Patriots thing, kind of interesting. Drake Maze's stud. The Steelers with Rogers. They're not great, but they're interesting to watch.
A
I feel free fall.
C
Yeah, well, they're not free falling.
A
I mean, they gotta win with the Rogers injuries, big man.
C
What do they give us a timeline?
A
I don't think we have an update yet, but you got to worry about that.
C
Yeah, the way he was holding his wrist, it didn't look great. No, that'll do it for the NFL binge driven by Ramsey Mazda. It's the experience.
A
Small fracture.
C
That's what they're saying.
A
Yeah, but he wants to play through it.
C
Well, it's his left hand. Man up. Rub some dirt on it. It's the experience of driving a new Mazda and buying a new Mazda from Ramsey Mazda. Choose wisely. Choose Ramsdale. Ramsey Mazda.
A
Sure.
C

A
Yeah.
C
So a lot happened over the weekend guys at during E and M. We'll get to some of it. We got got a little Shador Sanders there Allen.
B
A very little.
A
Yeah. You know what? That, that was tough for me because there were times where it, you could see it and then there were also a couple of drops. But it. Yeah, he. I'm not gonna make excuses.
C
You sound like Aaron Boone. The drop we have from Aaron Boone right now.
A
You know what? I don't know.
B
Yeah, I should.
C
He, he.
B
Look, he's.
A
He's really. This is literally how I felt. I didn't know quite what to say other than yeah, he, he had a chance and I haven't watched yet.
C
Was it terrible?
A
No, it wasn't. There were moments.
B
16 though. Like I know there were a couple.
A
A couple of drops.
B
He could take a sack.
A
Yeah.
C
What do you mean take it?
B
Well, no meaning like try to you know what could have been a five yard loss ends up being 15.
A
Oh, yeah.
C
Well, I like that he runs for.
A
His life instead of just.
C
That's called turning something into nothing. I mean, nothing or nothing into much worse.
A
Right, right. Turning nothing into pain. Yeah. I thought he was going to do it, though. He had. He had the guy open in the end zone, missed him. It didn't bode well for me and my praise of him.
B
Well, so listen, that's a tough spot.
A
Yeah.
C
And nobody thought he's. It's. It's been clear. They don't think he's super ready at this point.
B
No.
C
We would have known.
A
When you don't practice with the ones. I mean, that's the first time you're throwing.
B
But it was at home and the crowd was very receptive.
A
Sure.
B
So. And that's not your, you know, your father's Baltimore Ravens defense, as we've talked about before. But no, it's a tough spot. Divisional opponent. That was a crazy game.
C
I want to. Let me look at this because maybe you guys are overdoing it. You know what I mean? I'd open the box for here. 4 for 16. All right, hold on. Maybe that's misleading.
A
No, it's not.
C
47 yards, zero touchdowns, one interception, a QBR of 2.4 and a rating, which they give you out. It's like. It's a QB rating is like. It's like signing your name on the SATs. And he got a 13.5.
B
Well, Peter, I asked for Shador Sanders numbers, not Justin Fields.
C
No, I know. He said. He said, hold my beer. I got. I can do Justin Fields better than you can. Although, can I just say, while we're being. While we're being hard on the kid, I mean, when did you hear a line this nasty from Lamar Jackson? 14, 25, 193, no touchdowns, two picks, QBR of 25, rating of 47.
B
I think that's the first time.
C
And he rushed for 10 yards, guys.
B
Yeah, Lamar.
A
Yeah. That's hard to believe.
B
It was, like, the first time, I think, in his career. He had no touchdown passes and more than one interception in the game. It was a. It was. Listen, the one thing the Browns could do is make a quarterback look bad because that's the one thing they've got going for him there.
C
Yeah, no, it's true, but.
B
And they still found a way to win the game. But it was. And we should mention, since we haven't gotten to it yet, that it will be no Justin Fields against the Ravens for the jets, that they've made the decision that the Taylor is going to make the start.
A
Did you see so many gave this little bit of dose of reality. If you're a Jets fan thinking oh they'll just cut Field and move on.
B
No.
A
If the jets cut Justin Fields before June 1st, they will have a 22 million dollar cap charge. Aaron Rodgers is going to count for 35 million in 2026. So potentially it's 57 million dollars on the cap for two quarterbacks who would not be playing for you. So can we assume that Justin Fields and more than likely be a Jet next season? No, he's got some capacity.
B
The idea that he'll back up and just be a spare part. But no, there's a very good chance that he's going to be on the team next year. But, but going from Fields to Taylor is basically playing with your Tonka truck with your left hand instead of your right.
A
When you get that board, huh?
B
Yeah.
C
Well, you know what?
B
It's.
C
It's. Isn't there a word? It's the stranger is what you're talking about.
A
It is the stranger. You mean the stranger you just see you bring in. You're cheating on. You're cheating on one hand.
B
You're cheating.
C
Now I know what you guys are talking about.
B
I'm talking about a toy truck.
A
Yeah, of course you are. But, but honestly though, like with Fields, are you are either one of you. And again I'm so checked out. But there is this alter reality of can Justin Fields be useful even though he's not your starting quarterback? And I think he can because I think there's a future for Justin Fields the NFL now that he's three teams in and still hasn't figured it out with his arm of like a Taysom Hill kind of role.
C
I don't hate him. Is that crazy? No, I wouldn't hate him for that.
A
Rush for a thousand yards one season. Like we know we can run. I don't know why the jets don't let him run, but he can run. Why can't he be a Taysom Hill kind of wildcat type of guy that you can still, you know, have use for play him, but he's not necessarily your. The guy you're gonna use. Don't hate to someone and have them catch it.
C
Do not hate. It could work by the way. The, the, the football here is so bad in general that normally in most places it would, it would make sports talk radio at least a mention that a player was shot and hospitalized over the weekend and we didn't have any mention It. But Chris Boyd, of course, of the jets was out at one of my favorite restaurants. Say less on on Saturday night and at 2:30 in the morning or just after 2am there was a commotion out front.
A
It was a brawl, Peter.
C
Yeah, the video looks like an all out brawl.
A
It's fair, nasty.
C
It's like 38th and Broadway.
A
38Th and 7th and 7th. Yeah.
C
And yeah, he was shot in the abdomen. He's now in critical but stable condition. When he was shot in the abdomen, the bullet lodged in his lung. According to sources, he's undergone multiple medical procedures and he should be okay. He even had a small interview with detectives from the hospital and they now have put out a picture of who they are looking for in this incident. So he's on a one year, $1.6 million deal to be with the jets as a special teams a player and defensive player as well, of course. Corner. So not a great story.
A
No, it's a terrible story, but no.
C
Does anybody know yet what. And now Donna, if you see that there's video of it now moving around.
B
Okay.
C
Of the actual fight. But like, does anybody have any idea, Alan, of what happened? Like, was it random people? Did he get into it with people? Were they just randomly attacked? Does anybody know?
A
Die. Don't. I did not see any real details about what happened yet. I haven't seen the police report either. If they did talk to him, it would be in the report. But you know, sometimes you just get targeted.
C
Yeah. I wonder, you know, listen, say Less is a place where a lot of like, you know, athletes and celebrities go. So you never know, like whether there's someone kind of lurking late at night.
A
To see who they see, especially that late.
