Don Hahn
Are all batteries the same? That's like asking if all soccer players are the same. Take Messi, the most decorated player ever. Is there any other player who has achieved that?
Peter Rosenberg
No, just him.
Don Hahn
Now take Duracell. Is there any other battery with powerboost ingredients inside?
Peter Rosenberg
No, just Duracell.
Don Hahn
Remember, goats only trust goats because they're built different. And Messi only trusts Duracell.
Alan Hahn
This is the Don Hahn and Rosenberg podcast.

Don Hahn
Submit your entry now. My brother's going to be there. You're going to be there.
Peter Rosenberg
Maybe they're doing a live show. By the way, there's no autographs.
Don Hahn
Well, he might sign an autograph.
Alan Hahn
How much are you charging?
Don Hahn
I'm not.
Peter Rosenberg
For my autographs and a photo. What would I charge? Well, what do you get? It'll be a very light line, I think.
Don Hahn
What do you get for a cameo?
Peter Rosenberg
I think 75.
Don Hahn
You got to be kidding me.
Alan Hahn
Is that good?
Don Hahn
Good for you.
Alan Hahn
What do you mean is that good?
Don Hahn
I. I just got 28.
Alan Hahn
28.
Peter Rosenberg
Because you don't respect yourself, you might hate your card.
Alan Hahn
Very specific.
Don Hahn
I think. I think that's the minimum, right? I just can't sit there and do it. No, I think people should pay more for me.
Alan Hahn
I've never done it.
Peter Rosenberg
Anthony had such a great joke. Not for the you, please.
Don Hahn
Could you Disney it up a little bit?
Peter Rosenberg
It's not.
Don Hahn
So let's. Let's say we turn it around for radio. Come on.
Alan Hahn
I can't. I can't turn it around.
Peter Rosenberg
Mine's $75.
Alan Hahn
Can you. And you can share with me, then at least.
Peter Rosenberg
I'll tell you what it was, though. I'll tell you what it was. Turn off. Talk about.
Alan Hahn
Oh, yeah, okay. Yeah, I.
Peter Rosenberg
You have to admit, it's a good line.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, it's pretty good.
Don Hahn
It's not offensive.
Alan Hahn
It's not really.
Caller Dave
It's not.
Peter Rosenberg
No, it's not offensive to. It's only offensive to one person. It's not like an offensive.
Don Hahn
But this is all me. I mean, $28. Well, he's not even on.
Alan Hahn
I'm not even on it.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, but that's, but that's, that's a variety of things going on there. Number one, you know, Alan thinks he's garbage. He thinks he should pay.
Alan Hahn
It was presented to me when it, like in the early days, and I was like, why would anybody want this? No, I could. And then I saw everybody doing like, oh, wow. And then.
Peter Rosenberg
Listen, I don't, I don't get that many.
Alan Hahn
Didn't bother.
Peter Rosenberg
I, I, I. You have to, like, be active on it. I'm not. I'm not.
Caller Dave
I'm not.
Alan Hahn
How are you active on it?
Peter Rosenberg
It's like, it's kind of like its own world. And if you promote it, you could put up promotional videos. I think it's like there's an algorithm.
Alan Hahn
I really don't see how anybody.
Peter Rosenberg
I have all time made $6,735.
Alan Hahn
It's not bad.
Peter Rosenberg
All time. It's not that many. No, I've made nearly seven.
Alan Hahn
Whoa.
Peter Rosenberg
I got money in my wallet right now.
Don Hahn
Look at this guy.
Alan Hahn
I've money on my mind.
Don Hahn
I don't have it on my phone because you just don't have room because of all the kids pictures. I'm around 12,000 I've made so far.
Alan Hahn
12,000?
Peter Rosenberg
You made 12,000?
Don Hahn
And I should have made more. You know how many real price?
Alan Hahn
You know.
Peter Rosenberg
Do you know how many shops?
Don Hahn
But you know how many I've given for free because I miss them.
Peter Rosenberg
Then you feel bad.
Don Hahn
Listen, I will tell you.
Alan Hahn
Oh, my God.
Don Hahn
Because usually it's a birthday. Usually my dad's a big fan. Something for Father's Day, birthday, Christmas, whatever, Hanukkah. And I, I'm like, why would anybody want to hear from me?
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, my God, Don.
Don Hahn
But I've done.
Peter Rosenberg
You've done over 600 of these. And that doesn't include the freebies.
Don Hahn
And I, I've met people that I've given cameos to, and they're like, they say, thank you. It's fun. You know, if I were younger back in the day, would I have wanted one from, you know, Bob Murphy or something? Yeah, I think it would be cool. So you did them in breaks.
Alan Hahn
I remember on the K show.
Don Hahn
I remember that he never does that. And, you know, watching Breaking Bad, I can't.
Alan Hahn
You should make a killing during, like, draft season reading people's drafts.
Don Hahn
But you would have made a fortune during the Knicks run.
Alan Hahn
Oh, maybe, maybe. Definitely. I made. I made. It was called Knicks Talk Daily. Yeah. I made SUNY Canton a ton of money.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, that.
Don Hahn
And that's all well and good, but, you know, two things can happen at once. You can walk and chew gum at the same time.
Alan Hahn
Listen, I said no. Nobody's ever come back to me about it. So I just, I'm letting it go. What are you supposed to do? Just sign up?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Don Hahn
That's all you do.
Alan Hahn
I thought they come to you.
Don Hahn
No, no, no. Well, I don't know how this works. They did. They come to me because. Because there are people that are on cameo that can get some money if they recommend somebody. And then when they saw how many people follow me on social media, they reached out about, like, how I can do it, and I did it.
Alan Hahn
You want to recommend me? Get some money in your pocket.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, I'll do more than 12 grand.
Don Hahn
It's no, it's no. There's no. But listen, this is over like a three or four year period. It's not like I'm making this a year, but it's fun.
Alan Hahn
But that's extra. That's extra cash. I'm sure you don't just put it off in another account. All of a sudden you just blink three years later and you know.
Don Hahn
No, it's, it's. Hey, it's. I got on the window.
Peter Rosenberg
Now I have to update my. My account so further to get the money that I've got sitting in here. Since we brought it up.
Don Hahn
Yeah. I always forget the transfer. You don't want to do that. But anyway. Transfer. LeBron James gonna be on a different team.
Alan Hahn
Yes.
Don Hahn
He's no longer going to be with the Lakers. And first of all, I'm not even gonna. I'm not even gonna dignify it with a segment. He's not coming to the Knicks. It makes zero sense. Stop it. You don't need him anyway.
Peter Rosenberg
We're not talking about it.
Don Hahn
It's stupid.
Peter Rosenberg
Please respect yourself, for God's sake.
Don Hahn
What I think is a better conversation is the rumor that they're gonna put a super team together in Golden State, try to get Curry and the boys One more ring and I. I don't know how you feel about it, Peter. I know Allen is in a way about this. I think the NBA in my opinion, is in a fantastic place right now. The fact that the Knicks won, bucking the whole trend of super teams not being all the way. The NBA has really been very stale over the last few years. The numbers showed that a. It was the Knicks. So it was a different team, was a fresh team. But I think the way the Knicks went about it made it fun to watch a young Wemby trying to make his say against a Knicks team that is different than everybody else. And now you got to follow that up with a Golden State Warrior super team with LeBron James and all those guys are then just going to, you know, walk out of the league.
Alan Hahn
Yes, you are.
Don Hahn
That does not interest me. Now. I'm not coming from a Nick perspective of all this is going to hurt. I'm just talking about where the NBA is. So we're going to go back to the old stale super team, same guys winning a ring and then they're all just going to walk out the door. And then what? Leave the NBA.
Alan Hahn
Don't you think though?
Don Hahn
I don't think. I don't think people find that garbage interesting anymore.
Alan Hahn
So LeBron to go out that way
Don Hahn
and I don't think people have a. I really don't think people have a stomach for it anymore. I could be wrong, you know, you know the NBA and your finger on the pulse of the NBA way more than I do. Peter, as well. But for me, it feels like stale old. And I don't think people are going to respond to it.
Alan Hahn
I think people will respond to this loudly. I think it will be criticized, it will be panned, and it will also be celebrated. I think it's exactly what the NBA is and it's a perfect example that you brought up. It's exactly why as much fun it'll be, they're already calling it the Potential. The Olden State warriors, the Golden Girl State Warriors. All this stuff is.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't know which I prefer. They're both great.
Alan Hahn
You know what I mean? And obviously the Expendables. I mean, that's the perfect reference to make.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, however you've seen this. Did you already mention this?
Alan Hahn
What did I mention?
Don Hahn
Mark Spears tweet.
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Wiz not interested in moving ad.
Alan Hahn
Yeah. Yeah. And that would you. You would expect that because Washington first of all knows that they want him, that Golden State would want to make a trade. So now Washington has to Say, oh, we don't want to trade him.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, what do you. What do you got?
Alan Hahn
And then you say, what do you got? Of course, you're not going to just willingly trade a player that you acquired, hoping to be part of your future. But from everything I've heard, AD has zero interest in staying there, does not want to be there. So they'll. In the end, they'll work something out. But it's a smart play from Washington to put up this front of, like, no, no, we're not trading him. What do you mean? He's part of our future or part of now. But if you can get some good value for him, you'll do it. No, this is the NBA, Doc. This is literally the NBA. And it's perfect because, like you said, LeBron has always built these super teams, these teams that he wants to bring together. It's always got to be another star. It's why he wanted AD in la. When he went to la, he got him. And then he won a championship when he went to Miami. We all know him. And Dwyane Wade, right? You had that. When he went back to Cleveland, what did he do? He brought everybody in. All his boys went there, right? Everybody was taking pay cuts, taking less just to go there, because they wanted to go to Cleveland and win a championship for Cleveland, really, for LeBron. And LeBron wanted to do it for Cleveland, for his legacy, and he did it. So this is so LeBron to do something like this. And what a way to go out. Him and Steph Curry, the remaining faces of the NBA, whether you like it or not, while they're still living and breathing and wearing uniforms, they. They are still the faces of the NBA. And to have them kind of get together and say, all we got to do is just get through a season. But once we get to the tournament, we know our skill, our iq, all the stuff that we could put together would have a great chance of winning and everybody be excited about it. How many people already put money on the warriors to win a championship next year?
Caller Dave
Right?
Alan Hahn
So that's what makes this a fun story. But what makes it also interesting is spurs are super young. Oklahoma City, still very young, right?
Don Hahn
Yep.
Alan Hahn
Look at that contrast. When they'd play each other, you wouldn't be dialed in to see if the young kids could beat the old men. You know what I mean? Like, you'd want to see.
Don Hahn
I'll be rooting against them.
Alan Hahn
He wants to go out.
Peter Rosenberg
But.
Alan Hahn
And. But I'm going to add this one last caveat. This is A fun potential possibility that Draymond Green has been pushing and pushing behind the scenes for the last couple of months. Once they traded for Luca, he knew his time in LA was coming to an end. LeBron knew it, and it became official when they signed Austin Reeves, and they never even talked to LeBron. So Draymond Green's been like, come here. Let's win one more ring here, and then we'll all retire together. That might. The possibility of this happening is still very, very slim. The bigger possibility that I've heard about for months is him finishing in Cleveland. That's the one. You watch him going to Cleveland and that being his farewell tour with the team that he was drafted by, where he won his championship, where he gave Cleveland a title, where he was born. And for him, it's still home, even though his home is now in la. He also knows what a great story it would be. I do think there'll be a documentary that'll come out the minute he retires, and it's going to have a lot of stuff in it, and especially the last two raw at home. I think Cleveland is the better chance. I think Dan Gilbert's all in on this, because Dan Gilbert really is. Like, you had to see his face when the Knicks were beating the hell out of the Cavs. He was miserable. So he'll do whatever it takes in Cleveland. I think Cleveland's a better play. No one's talking about it, but this Golden State team is. This thing is more of a fantasy. Fun and typical NBA, but I don't like that. Typical.
Don Hahn
I know, and I think a lot of people are done with it as well. Now, if he goes back to Cleveland, that's a good story. And I'm not throwing any shade at LeBron James and his legacy.
Alan Hahn
So you wouldn't hate that, because he's
Don Hahn
least going back to where it all started. But to me, building up another super team with the Golden State Warriors. Again, no offense to the Warriors. I don't care what team it is. It's just like nobody. LeBron, nobody cares about you winning another title anymore, okay? You saw the ratings with the Knicks. They go back to Michael Jordan. LeBron wasn't pulling those kind of numbers, okay? LeBron is a great player. He was a great player, and he's been great for the NBA. His time has now passed. I don't think New York, I don't think any other big city has any appetite getting LeBron James another championship. They're ready to usher in a new brand of basketball where it's about, you know, teams, and it's about being, you know, competitive, not where can I go so I can win another championship? I don't think people are keeping score on LeBron's titles anymore.
Alan Hahn
You don't think it's about relationships? That's what the Knicks showed us. It's about relationships.
Don Hahn
Well, there. It's about team, not, oh, I need to join a super team so I can get another championship. I could collect another ring because of this personal thing he has with Michael Jordan, getting more rings, more championships. Even if I got to go join another team. How many more teams is he going to be on? At least going back to Cleveland. He's is where it all started. You don't think this is Cleveland to Miami, to la, Cleveland back to Cleveland, then to la? Come on, man.
Alan Hahn
You don't think this is also, though, about him and Steph Curry? They've known each other a long time. They have a mutual respect. They've always talked about wanting to play together. And this is sort of like, hey, if I'm going out, I want to go out playing with another. With the other guy that was carrying this generation. And the two of us. You don't think that's compelling? There's nothing compelling about Steph Curry and. And LeBron James sharing a court for a full season together. Nothing?
Don Hahn
No, not for me. All right. But there's something.
Peter Rosenberg
I mean, it's not for Don.
Alan Hahn
I think it's compelling.
Peter Rosenberg
It is compelling. There's two different.
Alan Hahn
Do I think it's going to win? No.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, there's two. What's compelling and what would be the better way to tie things up? Cleveland's the way to do it from a clean, nice, you know, and by the way, better chance to win. You don't think so this is a team that the last couple of years, fairly close.
Alan Hahn
Him, Harden.
Peter Rosenberg
Golden State's not that close.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, you know, I guess you're right.
Peter Rosenberg
It's a. It's a better place. And. And obviously, every night will be just. I mean, every night's a sellout in Golden State, but he's. It's never going to be fully about him. Right. Cleveland's about him. It's still about him. Even without him there, it's about him.
Commercial/Announcer
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So, like, I totally agree with you. I'd be interested. People will buy the LeBron.
Don Hahn
Think about it.
Alan Hahn
Opening jersey, opening night. That Cleveland's definitely. I mean, Golden State's definitely playing opening night, Christmas Day, feature game, no matter where their record is. Feature, feature game. Martin Luther King feature game, right. Like, it's always something feature game about it because of who's on the floor. Steph Curry, LeBron James on the same team. That's box office and that's the NBA getting through a long regular season.
Peter Rosenberg
Let me push back, though.
Alan Hahn
I'm trying to figure out a hockey equivalent.
Peter Rosenberg
By the way, LeBron can end it in Cleveland. They're still on opening night. Maybe they're still on Christmas day. For sure, it's on Christmas day.
Alan Hahn
Christmas Day, Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
They're getting.
Alan Hahn
I don't know if they're getting opening night.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, you know, you got the Knicks opening night now.
Alan Hahn
You got that.
Don Hahn
But it could be Cleveland again. We were worried what would the state of the NBA be once LeBron is gone and they're trying to make Wemby the next star, and we'll see if that works out. He's got a little bit of a tude. We saw that during the Finals.
Alan Hahn
Oh, yeah.
Don Hahn
And also the question is, can a non American, you know, be the face of the league? I think. I think he can. But that's what you're hoping for. Who's going to be the next guy to carry this sport once LeBron James is gone? And what you saw during these Finals is the NBA is, I think, in a really good place with the next generation getting ready here, the next style of play where it's not so much about super teams, it's about, you know, drafting well and trading well and signing players well and building a team and a chemistry. And I was so excited to see the NBA go that way. And now it's just hanging on to LeBron again. You. You saw it. I mean, to me, this was the new era, and I'm ready to embrace the new era instead of taking a step backwards now and following LeBron and asking LeBron, please make our sport relevant again. Please make us excited again. We were excited. The numbers were the best in 30 years. Better than any time LeBron was in his prime. But why does this have to be about now?
Alan Hahn
But why does this have to be
Don Hahn
about time to move on?
Alan Hahn
But I'm saying that's fine. He wants to play one more year and retire like he wants to play one more year. He's not done, so he's not going away. Wherever he goes, Don, you know there's going to be a tension because of who he is. If he's going to Golden State. This doesn't save our league. The league doesn't need to be saved. As you just pointed out, the Finals numbers were the greatest in 30 years. So all it is is, though, him adding to the story with a farewell tour that could be part of this kind of epic old team that wants to give it a run if they can do it. And, like, what's the. It's not save our league. It's just. He's going to be part of the story. He's not going to be the central character anymore.
Don Hahn
It's going back to Cleveland. That. That's a nice story. He's going back to the origin story of Cleveland, and Cleveland needs him because of what happened in these playoffs.
Caller Dave
All right.
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Don Hahn
And. And if he can win a title there, then that's a fun story. Not putting together another super team in Golden State. To me, that's the old NBA. That's the old way of doing business. He's got the right to play, and people are still interested. Cleveland, to me, is the better play for the. For the league because that's. That's a better story, and it's a nice close to his career. Go and build another super B team. To me, it just feels like a step backwards from where we were. It feels like we're going back to the old stupid. Put the super teams together, you know? And listen, I could be dead wrong. You have to pulse more. But I really feel like the NBA kind of told you that we've now moved on, and now it just feels like a step back to me.
Alan Hahn
Well, I wonder that, Peter, how do you.
Peter Rosenberg
Because you.
Alan Hahn
You. You consume NBA. Like, you. You know the whole story.
Peter Rosenberg
I do.
Alan Hahn
Yeah. So, like, like, do you look at it as, like. And Don's right, there's probably a lot of people rolling their eyes like, here we go again. But I, I. While I acknowledge what Don saying is true, which is these. These days are over. They're not doing this anymore. But we are seeing friends pairing up. Not necessarily star chasing. It's more of, like, we've got chemistry. We trust each other. Like what the Knicks showed the league is. Trust is critical. Right. I just saw that through this. Through. Yeah.
Don Hahn
Wait, was it the offside?
Alan Hahn
Yeah, of course. Okay. Reflection. I was watching the reflection. I'm like, there's no way that's on side.
Peter Rosenberg
I thought Mbappe just ran. Let me see.
Alan Hahn
No, he was too fast. And.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, there it is.
Don Hahn
This is Bobby.
Peter Rosenberg
But I love Bobby.
Don Hahn
It's not hockey.
Peter Rosenberg
You don't see those very often.
Alan Hahn
Breakaways.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, like a true breakaway. Like now. Now. But you know what I mean?
Alan Hahn
Like, like, it's a.
Peter Rosenberg
Listen, it's like I said there is appeal to it. And I, and I don't hate it. But I think LeBron has to factor in several things. Number one is, you know, having a good time, who you want to be with, but also enjoying the year likelihood for a championship. How big will the moment feel? And then also, if this is the last season or last two seasons or whatever, where do you want that to be? Do you want to switch again? Well, do you want to go do one season somewhere, then go to Cleveland for the last year?
Alan Hahn
That's sort of a good point about if this is the last run. It is an awkward place to be when it's not your team.
Peter Rosenberg
No, there's no Steph's team. That's that. And so and Steph's retirement tour in Golden State.
Alan Hahn
And then like it's, yeah. Celebrating you in a place that you've only played one year.
Peter Rosenberg
They just, what if Steph's like, I'm ready to go. Oh, I gotta wait now because LeBron's ready. I think that's a good point to bring up Cleveland's. And I believe Cleveland is closer to a championship, so. And by the way, in an easier conference, respectfully, to the Knicks.
Alan Hahn
Well, Shams is saying that the Golden State war is definitely planning to pursue. Of course, now the AD thing's interesting because they did give Porzingis a two year agreement to keep Porzingis. So if you have Porzingis, you don't really need to get Anthony Davis. Right. So it'll be interesting to watch this. And it all starts in about an
Peter Rosenberg
hour, so Porzingis is a nice, nice piece.
Alan Hahn

Don Hahn
This was gonna be my talk about it.
Alan Hahn
I'm laughing because Anthony already put up Peter and I not being in the shot. Yeah, that's good.
Don Hahn
This was gonna be my talk about it, but it happens a lot. We just ran out of time. Is that they're taking down the Knicks street signs today.
Peter Rosenberg
Why wait?
Alan Hahn
It was only up for a day.
Don Hahn
Why not all year? Honestly? At least until the season starts. Like, what's the rush to change it? They're taking them down that.
Alan Hahn
Wait, it took how much time to put them up?
Don Hahn
But. But I don't know what's. Everybody knows the street that the green one is the one that counts. I think we know that.
Alan Hahn
We all know. Get the mail.
Don Hahn
You think it's really confusing. But why can't you keep it up until like they tip off the next season at least.
Peter Rosenberg
How long were they up?
Don Hahn
Oh, two weeks. When do they. Tomorrow's the anniversary. It'll be. No, it'll be three weeks on Saturday. Right.
Peter Rosenberg
Since they won. Three weeks since they went on Saturday.
Don Hahn
So it was like two and a half weeks. That's all you get.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. Why not let it ride for a little bit?
Alan Hahn
I thought those signs only went up like this week.
Peter Rosenberg
They did. I thought I saw them this week.
Alan Hahn
Yeah. Actually, I think it was yesterday. Yeah, yesterday was the first day I saw him. They're not taking them down already.
Don Hahn
They're taking them down.
Alan Hahn
Stop it.
Peter Rosenberg
Are you really talking about. I think they were going up. I think you saw them going up.
Don Hahn
I. I thought I saw that they were taking them down.
Alan Hahn
We only started seeing Them. Me and Jacob yesterday.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, I saw them.
Don Hahn
What are they taking them down?
Caller Dave
Well, according.
Don Hahn
Yeah, here we go. I saw something.
Alan Hahn
NYC.gov the temporary code name streets will be installed today, which was yesterday, along 6 and 7th Avenues. Each will remain in place for four weeks. Street locations are listed. Four weeks?
Commercial/Announcer
Four weeks.
Alan Hahn
Jacob and I walked to Josh Hart Street.
Don Hahn
Pretty much them taking down. Was there something that was up before
Alan Hahn
the champions way ones down the canyon heroes. But I don't think that's what you're.
Don Hahn
No, no, you know what? I'm.
Alan Hahn
Boss interest in this now.
Don Hahn
Yeah, I did.
Peter Rosenberg
I checked out again.
Alan Hahn
No, no, no.
Peter Rosenberg
You can't hold Don's interest.
Don Hahn
What do you got?
Alan Hahn
No, because you might have seen. You saw them taking them down or did you see something, somebody saying, gone by 11:58 tonight?
Don Hahn
Yes.
Alan Hahn
Gone by 11:58 tonight was a quote from a fan. Meaning I'm stealing it. Oh, people are talking about taking them.
Don Hahn
I'm telling you. I'm tweeting a picture out. It's coming. The picture is going to be your tweet.
Peter Rosenberg
Now.
Don Hahn
I got it saved to my phone or I say goodbye to social media with the picture that I uploaded in my phone. I can't wait. I can't wait to go.
Alan Hahn
When you go, I go. Thelma and Louise. I'm serious. When you go, I go.
Don Hahn
I'm stealing. You know, I hope he steals it and I hope they track him down because he tweeted it out because he's so.
Alan Hahn
But how about the woman that stole the garbage can by flipping it over and dumping up the trash? Good.
Don Hahn
People are on social media saying, oh, how could you? You shouldn't lose your job over. Yes, you should. All right, first of all, you dump garbage all over the street. Then you steal something that belongs to the city and. And you acted like an ass. You know what? I don't. There's laws against not hiring people. There's no laws firing people. You do not represent my company. I'm firing your ass. Done. That was stupid.
Alan Hahn
Somebody took.
Don Hahn
That was dumb.
Alan Hahn
You were willing on a video.
Don Hahn
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
Dumping the entire contents of a garbage can onto the city sidewalk and then walking away with the garbage can, then sitting on a subway, smiling on video
Don Hahn
with the evidence and moron dumb. You know what? You think they wash those garbage cans before they painted them? You've got a filthy city garbage can sit in your living room and now guess what? You got no job.
Alan Hahn
I know. I actually want the wastebasket and a little pen holder. Yeah, I don't want that. My birthday pass didn't get it. I don't know why.
Peter Rosenberg
It was one of the worst.
Alan Hahn
It did not play very easy gift to get Alan. And nobody did just pointed it out.
Don Hahn
And I hope since they've tracked her down enough to be able to have her fired that the city has confiscated. They got it said garbage.
Alan Hahn
They do have the kid there.
Peter Rosenberg
They arrested her. They better keep it.
Alan Hahn
They did not press charges, however.
Don Hahn
No, then she's fortunate they didn't. And then that would be a little much. But you know what if I'm. Was it JP Morgan? She worked out or whatever.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, she was a director at JP Morgan.
Don Hahn
Goodbye.
Commercial/Announcer
Bye.
Don Hahn
Bye.
Alan Hahn
She gone fired for being an ass.
Peter Rosenberg
An ace.
Alan Hahn
First loss the Knicks had first.
Don Hahn
Believe me, they didn't want her anyway. David and Elizabeth's always fun to talk.
Alan Hahn
How are you?
Peter Rosenberg
All right, David, take your time.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, that's how I usually signal.
Peter Rosenberg
Let's go.
Alan Hahn
Turn it.
Don Hahn
Dave in the car. You're on ESPN New York. Hi, Dave.
Caller Dave
Hey, what's up guys? I just want to. I want to say some Bullets and see what your feedback is. First of all, thank God the Knicks aren't having the throes of all the off season acquisitions and trades. We're champions and we don't have to deal with that. Secondly, I think LeBron going to Golden State, no matter what he decides to do to come in pre super team or after super team is his last year. Whether it's Cleveland or Golden State, it's going to sell. Thirdly, I don't understand. If you look at every team in the league now, especially the bad ones, why would the Boston Celtics break up their two big guys? Like there's something very dysfunctional about wanting to get rid of Brown. He and the in. I can't remember the other guy's name right now. They're just too talented to have like teams like the Knicks wait decades to get guys like that and only manage to get one. I mean your thoughts around those Bullets.
Alan Hahn
You mean Jason Tatum?
Caller Dave
Yeah. Who wouldn't want NATO and Tatum? Who wouldn't want those two right now? What franchise couldn't use those two in their locker room right now? Why can't Boston just add to those guys? I don't get it.
Peter Rosenberg
They. I found that to be very odd too. I don't see like you were able to win a title with those guys. Now granted, you had other pivotal pieces. Al Horford, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis. None of those guys are around. But I do not understand how the Celtics would Ever consider breaking these guys up when it doesn't seem like they were unable to be together? Yes, I understand. Jaylen Brown clearly enjoyed having the room to himself. Said it was his favorite season, all of that stuff, but they got along fine enough over the last five years. I do not understand how you can't make it work. And now, apparently, it's gone. And now, you know, if you listen to people who are on the inside,
Alan Hahn
Jalen's really legitimate because he knows he was. The second time they put him on the table for. In a trade. The first time was for Kevin Durant. I mean, it's Kevin Durant, but it's. It's the second time now. And I think he feels away, clearly, even though Brad Stevens has maintained contact with him and his agent about everything going on. So he's been respectful, but it doesn't mean like, Jaylen Brown. Definitely, you could tell is easily. He. He's very sensitive to all this stuff and how he's perceived, and it's got him feeling away. But what I also noticed, his silence is deafening sometimes. And Tatum not even once, like, saying anything. Like, Giannis, Trey comes up and you see Jaylen Brown. Tatum doesn't once just go, like, I don't want that. That's my guy. Right?
Don Hahn
Then don't these like, nothing.
Alan Hahn
No, no, Don. There. You see this a lot. Where if. If they're close enough and have, like, a respect for each other, like, they'll be guys that speak up or say something. He said nothing the whole time.
Don Hahn
Because it comes down to the pettiness, weird of it's my team or it's your team.
Alan Hahn
Well, you saw the look he gave when Brown got the finals trophy, the mvp, right? Tatum had his look like he was in the back.
Don Hahn
Listen, I'm not a professional athlete, but I've been amongst teams. I've been part of teams. And for you to stand in the way of the ultimate success, and that's a championship because it's got to be my team. And for Brown to say, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt, that this was a special season, they lose their best player, it wasn't supposed to be any kind of a year, and they end up almost winning the conference. Right. So good on them. But no, the reason is, is because Jaylen Brown got to be the man, and he didn't have to be in Tatum's shadow. And Tatum likes Brown in his shadow because it's not about winning, it's about being the man. Like, come on, man, did the Knicks prove Anything that when you all work together as a team, look at how everybody gets to celebrate and you win the championship and Brunson's still getting his. And one day he'll get the money back that he gave up because of that championship and he'll live forever in New York, just like any Celtic would live forever in Boston for what they did a couple of years ago. But you got to let your ego get in the way and it be a detriment because the caller's right. Why are you breaking them up?
Alan Hahn
See, they're an example of they got one, they got a championship.
Caller Dave
Right.
Alan Hahn
So this era was successful because they got a ring. The problem is at their age and their talent, that's the team that you expected, should have gotten more, Right? Yeah.
Don Hahn
And so like, they should be there every year. That's what's going to be remembered. Eventually Brown gets traded. It's Tatum's team. And then Brown will go to someplace and it'll be his team. But unless they win again, all they're going to be remembered for is when they were together and they won the title. And then the other thing they'll be remembered for is how they couldn't keep it together, didn't win another one and they broke up. Would have been something really special.
Alan Hahn
That's fair. Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. It makes me sick. I just feel like they are two forever Celtics at this point. You have one title already.
Caller Dave
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
All right. If this year you're not able to get it back together, it doesn't. The numbers don't make sense. You're not able to find a way, like, I just trust Brad Stevens to be able to figure this out over time. And guess what? You never know what happens. That team was fairly close last year. I understand. We heard later they believe they were going to get boat raced by the Knicks or whoever else they played. Sure, okay. But you just never know what's going to happen. I keep this team together, I do anything, I do not see what they're going to get that's going to replace Jalen Brown. And I truly believe that it is not a gimme. I think you agree with me, Alan. It's not a gimme to me that Brown's the one you definitively trade and keep Tatum. I said that Brown on both sides of the ball, to me is the more complete player.
Alan Hahn
I said that on national TV about a month or so ago when all this stuff started coming out.
Peter Rosenberg
I drive a dog stratum.
Alan Hahn
Just saying. Yeah. And I got eviscerated.
Peter Rosenberg
By who?
Alan Hahn
People In Boston saying, you're crazy. I'm like, wait, Tatum's a guy coming off the injury?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
Tatum's a guy that has been injured. Tatum's a guy that didn't win finals MVP and didn't win. Like, he's had good performances in the playoffs, but when you won a championship, it was Jaylen Brown who took you there.
Peter Rosenberg
Which ones? And which one's been an all Star and all defensive?
Alan Hahn
Well, that's what I mean. Like, he plays both sides. He's relatively healthy. How is it?
Peter Rosenberg
And more than relatively.
Alan Hahn
But a lot of people in Boston are like, buddy's a pain in the ass in the locker room. He's not really close to anybody.
Peter Rosenberg
Can I.
Alan Hahn
You know, he says all this stuff publicly and all this stuff.
Peter Rosenberg
Whereas he doesn't match. Tatum's more quiet. Jaylen Brown is outspoken. Jaylen Brown supported Kyrie Irving. Jalen Brown is a guy who politically speaks his mind.
Alan Hahn
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
That doesn't always go with Boston. In spite of the Celtics, Incredibly.
Alan Hahn
I don't know. I like winning.
Peter Rosenberg
I like winning, and I've never heard him have teammate issues. I just think Boston's like, we like Jayson Tatum. He scores a lot. He doesn't talk politics or anything. His son's cute. He's the guy. Jaylen Brown is a little more prickly, it may seem. And he jumps moody. He jumps on twitch. You know, he's. But, like, night tonight. He showed you. I don't know. Has Jason Tatum had a season yet where he willed them to, like, 57 wins on his own? Because that's what Jaylen Brown did last year.
Alan Hahn
What they finished with 58.
Peter Rosenberg
58.
Alan Hahn
Yeah. So 58 or 56, something like that. But I'm still a ridiculous number.
Don Hahn
He's a.
Peter Rosenberg
He's a top 10 player. Like, I just. I don't. I'd be pissed off if every time it came up, they're like, oh, well, we got to make a move. It's got to be Peter. We obviously can't move Alan or Don. It's Peter. Peter's got to go. Where's he going?
Alan Hahn
It's like, after a while, right? After a while, that's just. Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
We all contribute to this team. Why is it always me? And Jalen knows he's. Oh, by the way, when push came to shove, I was finals mvp. In the most clutch moments, I was the guy.
Don Hahn
So, yeah. Also getting back to something we were talking about earlier. Kofi came through. Kobe came through twice. The basket was returned to the city. Put it back where it was stolen. And then he also said to me, and I don't even remember this. It might even be the game I did. I don't remember. Late April 2013, the Carolina Hurricanes called up Jared Stoll. Only played two games in the NHL, but one of the games in the NHL was in 2013 and he got to play with Eric and Jordan. So there were four Stall brothers. And yeah, so they played together.
Alan Hahn
I remember hearing about Jarrett, but he
Don Hahn
only played two games in the NHL.
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg

Don Hahn
I believe this is the Gap band, if I'm not mistaken.
Alan Hahn
Correct.
Don Hahn
That's what Mbappe just did for France. He dropped the bomb on Sweden.
Peter Rosenberg
That was. That's what we call them.
Don Hahn
You know what we have all these alt casts that we have and I'll call them, they're all yo, yo. But what I want to see is an alt cast of my guy Peter Rosenberg's color commentary of that gold. That to me wouldn't be at all guys like the way in real time. You saw the reaction. That's what I want my color guy to be.
Peter Rosenberg
To do a lot of some expletives. But it told the story right. Because he just did things. I don't. You know soccer. Soccer uses like some fun, some fun language to like describe things. But it's all kind of nonsense as it is in a lot of sports. And sometimes what you just want to
Don Hahn
say is what I said, good Christ.
Peter Rosenberg
What the hell was that?
Alan Hahn
Right?
Don Hahn
That was one, but the next one
Peter Rosenberg
was better and it wasn't hell. He literally.
Don Hahn
But wouldn't that be an all good old cast? It could just for adults only. It's rated R. Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And people are just cursing up a storm going, oh my God. He just. The only word I can think of is really a hockey word. They don't use it in soccer. But the Deke.
Don Hahn
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Like it was just. You're watching his feet do things and you're like, what is that you.
Alan Hahn
Can you break ankles in soccer? No, he did Literally did.
Peter Rosenberg
But then the shot, too was incredible. Like, that's one of those moments where you go, yo, yos who just don't, like, care to even try and, like, think soccer is a bore. It's like you're not even trying. Just watch someone.
Don Hahn
I. You do see that. That's few and far between sometimes because you don't see a lot of offense.
Alan Hahn
That's all the same with hockey. Right?
Don Hahn
But I. You see more goals than you see,
Peter Rosenberg
but you see more and you see more up and down. And you see a lot more up and down.
Alan Hahn
I want to hear how Don would call that.
Don Hahn
Call Dominic McGregor. He's missed me. He's been missing.
Alan Hahn
I really loved it.
Don Hahn
The search is stopped. And we all just. They put in a bunch of like in. Like in.
Peter Rosenberg
Where was the horn?
Don Hahn
Where was the horn?
Alan Hahn
We need a beat to that.
Peter Rosenberg
That's how doggo.
Don Hahn
Dominic McGregor here, live from the Congo. The reports of my demise completely exaggerated. I survived an absolute mauling over the winter. But I am back and it's come to my attention we've got a huge game on the pitch tomorrow. It's the Champions League game. It's Barcelona, the paradise. Barcelona vs Juventus. Italy will triumph. Red wine will flow. Cannolis will be eaten. Dominic McGregor, live from the Congo. I am back.
Alan Hahn
I'm gonna need a new update.
Don Hahn
Where was the horn?
Alan Hahn
When did I do that?
Don Hahn
I remember they did it earlier. Oh, what are you talking about? We were more buzzer.
Commercial/Announcer
Yes, that's right.
Don Hahn
We call overtime. Sudden death. Not sudden loss.
Peter Rosenberg
It's death.
Don Hahn
Death.
Peter Rosenberg
That's how serious we are about time. If you missed the beginning of the show, we realized that Americans care more about time than sports.
Alan Hahn
Sticking to schedule.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes, we like sports. We like schedule even more.
Alan Hahn
Very important.
Peter Rosenberg
Why do you think that, like, we can't stop talking about stoppage time? Because time is the most important. Don was brilliant. We have two minute warnings. When you're at the game at a hockey, you have to stop the entire arena. There's one minute left, folks.
Alan Hahn
They tell everybody to know, hey, I know there's a clock right in front of you, but let's let you know one minute remaining in the period.
Don Hahn
ESPN has a schedule release show for the NFL.
Peter Rosenberg
No, we love schedule. NBA shot clock, football play clock, NBA 10 second now 12, eight second clock. Eight second where there's always a clock. We got to keep adjusting the clock.
Alan Hahn
We like. We like time so much, we put a clock in baseball and there's no clock.
Don Hahn
We need a clock and we're we're obsessed with death. Overtime is sudden death. A big three in the NBA is a dagger.
Peter Rosenberg
By the way.
Don Hahn
Football players, when they score a big touchdown there's they're slit in their throat.
Peter Rosenberg
By the way. The only reason they even have boxing is because they like the timing of the three minute rounds.
Alan Hahn
I think you're right.
Don Hahn
And people pummeling each other.
Alan Hahn
And there's also a bet.
Peter Rosenberg
Time and death.
Alan Hahn
And there's a bell. We not only let the clock run out, we hit a bell.
Peter Rosenberg
We had a bell. So everyone knows. Look at this.
Alan Hahn
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
Don Hahn
Yeah. And back at the old time days and even more recently, a scantily clad woman holding up.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh my God. That's where you're really the epitome of the US because we love time so much we Signify how many 3 minute segments have passed by having our next favorite thing. A scantily clad woman hold the sign.
Don Hahn
Time.
Alan Hahn
Sex.
Peter Rosenberg
Here it is again, guys. Here it is again, guys.
Alan Hahn
Call it, Don. Call it good.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh my God.
Don Hahn
So all it really is.
Alan Hahn
Call it. Call it right now.
Don Hahn
I don't know. It's in Bobby.
Alan Hahn
He's right there. Ready?
Don Hahn
He's in the box. In Bape Imbape. Good lord.
Alan Hahn
He went far side with an absolute rip.
Peter Rosenberg
Why haven't him and Starbucks gotten together for frappe?
Don Hahn
Because Starbucks they did Paying the allotted who Starbucks isn't paying.
Alan Hahn
Pacino does that.
Don Hahn
The human monies.
Peter Rosenberg
You know you gotta pay the human monies if you want the Mickey of the World Cup.
Caller Dave
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And have you guys gotten any a chance to enjoy any of Abramovich and Alexa Lalis just hating each other's guts?
Alan Hahn
I haven't watched much of the they
Peter Rosenberg
just sit next to each other in
Don Hahn
complete disgust so they all look like they just couldn't stand each other and they've got another month of this.
Alan Hahn
Thanks for listening to the Don Hahn and Rosenberg podcast.

Podcast Date: June 30, 2026
Cast: Don La Greca, Alan Hahn, Peter Rosenberg
Main Theme:
This episode dives into the current NBA off-season’s biggest rumor: LeBron James possibly leaving the Lakers for another team, most notably the Golden State Warriors or a return to Cleveland. The trio debates the impact of superteams on the league, the cultural shift of the NBA, and the appetite fans have for LeBron's (potential) farewell tour. Other segments include talk on the Boston Celtics' dynamic duo, quirky NYC traditions, and a humorous take on the American obsession with time in sports.
On Super-teams:
Don: “Nobody...cares about you winning another title anymore. You saw the ratings with the Knicks...LeBron is a great player. He was a great player, and he's been great for the NBA. His time has now passed.” (12:44)
On Chemistry:
Alan: “What the Knicks showed the league is. Trust is critical. Right. I just saw that through this.” (19:04)
On Strealing NYC Trashcans:
Don: “You acted like an ass. You know what? I don't. There's laws against not hiring people. There's no laws firing people. You do not represent my company. I'm firing your ass. Done. That was stupid.” (25:12)
The episode is lively, sharp-tongued, and steeped in a classic New York sports radio vibe—part critical analysis, part locker-room banter, and consistently fan-focused. The consensus: fans and the league are ready for a post-LeBron era grounded in chemistry, competitive balance, and fresh narratives, not nostalgia-driven superteams. The panel, while recognizing LeBron’s greatness, is clearly eager for the NBA’s next act.
For New York die-hards and NBA junkies, this episode captured the pulse of a league at a crossroads—with plenty of laughs and classic radio personality along the way.
