Very briefly, my friend Chanel's, who's a wonderful person who helps me out on a lot of stuff. Her mother passed away last week suddenly.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Very sudden only 69 years old.

Okay, that's very young.

[Peter Rosenberg]

Yeah, very young. And instead of my friend Chanel going on her, her bachelorette, a party because she's getting married in a few weeks.

Oh, that's tough.

[Peter Rosenberg]

Yeah, it's. It's a Friday the 21st, I believe. Actually, I'll be working for. I may have to leave a segment early because I have to get to the wedding. But instead of going to a bachelorette party, she's now, you know, handling her mother's funeral arrangements. Terrible scenario, Don. She goes to JetBlue, who's the airline she has traveled for her bachelorette party. And it's a monstrous bachelorette party. I want to say I've never heard. She has too many friends. She has a 24 person bachelorette party. That's a lot of people. No, it's. You got to trip the triple. They're all traveling. I couldn't find 24 people like me enough to travel for me. I want to be clear right now.

[Don Hahn]

Well, you might have had 25. You might have had 24 people come to the party.

[Peter Rosenberg]

Yeah, if it was local. I mean, listen, I couldn't get you guys to show up on a bed. But, but you know, you think. Anyways, that's neither here nor there. So she goes to the airline. And yes, it happens to be JetBlue, which is just. I love a JetBlue person. But this, by the way, I hear these stories about all the airlines. So no one's, no one's above it. By the way, none of you advertise with us. So I have no loyalty. And she goes to them with all the proof of stuff which you're supposed to. They charged every one of the people who were going on her trip $135 change fee to be applied to the credit. So they all, they can change their ticket, but they've all lost $135.

[Don Hahn]

That's robbery.

[Peter Rosenberg]

It's robbery. It's, it's.

[Don Hahn]

And she showed the death certificate and everything she had, everything looked like George Costanza taking a Polaroid.

[Peter Rosenberg]

She has all the paperwork and says, I have whatever you need. You know, assuming they would just, you know, do the right thing and no, they want to charge. So. And it's so short sighted. These companies, the airline industry is floundering and they, they don't see the forest of the trees, Don. They'd rather take the 135 from each person and have all these 24 people not be interested in flying your airline again.

[Don Hahn]

Exactly.

[Peter Rosenberg]

Like, why not? They'll all still fly with you. They'll. They'll take the trip at a later date. Just at least give them the full credit. They're not even saying give cash back, but don't take $135 out of the credit. You can't just give them the credit. It's still money going to you.

[Peanut]

Yeah.

[Don Hahn]

And not because, oh, I just decided to change my mind.

Yeah, yeah, we like the next weekend better.

[Don Hahn]

You know what? You know. You know where this all started, I think, Peter, where was during COVID because so many people were canceling flights. And then once everything kind of settled down, people were, like, still saying, oh, yeah, I got Covid. I can't fly. You got to give me my money back. And they finally just decided, no, Covid is no longer an excuse. Sorry. Because people were using it. I just wonder if that was all the money that was lost during that time of people that canceled their flights and then never flew, that they're now just being really stingy with it. But I was passing away.

Can you imagine, though?

[Don Hahn]

Don't show the death certificate. Listen, there's a party. We booked 24 flights. As crazy as that sounds for a party, I'm showing you the death certificate of why we're not going.

Yeah, the person cannot go. Right.

Here's the death certificate. Like, that's not. Oh, we decided not to go. Or say, you know, claiming somebody got sick or like, no, this is it. What else are you supposed to do? Still go.

That's the thing. There's no option. So it's just.

It's just so frustrating when you hear of companies doing things like this today. And can you imagine if you had told the people flying in the early days, Don, like in the 60s, the early 70s, that one day the seats would be like, you can't fit into them. The prices would be through the roof. You'd have to pay for a bag. You'd have to pay to select your seat. But I have a question. Why am I buying a ticket if I have to pay when I'm selecting my seat? Was there an option I could be on the plane with no seat.

So why are you making me pay for every single seat? I have to pay for 37F. Now, listen, I'm not flying 37F. Look at me. But at a time when I was. Seriously, that's crazy.

[Don Hahn]

I know. It used to be so much more luxurious, and it was never. I'm not saying inexpensive, but it just seemed like he got a lot more for your flight. And Listen, most people nowadays, Peter, like, a lot of people are flying because they have to, you know, whether it's business or because of emergencies. Like, there's probably less a percentage of people flying because they just want to, you know, and it's. Listen, it's. It's a lot, man. It's crazy. I mean, I go through traveling, you know, with the Devils and with the Rangers before that. It's. It's. It's crazy bag. You should see the things that I'll stuff into a carry on before I'm going to pay money to have a bag.

Oh, I mean, the length to which you'll go.

I feel you. I do everything to avoid having.

The only time I'm taking a carry on if I'm not on the Devil's charter is if, like, I'm going to. I got no choice. I'm going out for eight days, and it's like, there's no way. But otherwise. And even when you have the carry on, if, God forbid, you're group four, there's no overhead room anymore, and you still have to check the damn bag. You're lucky if you'll be able to pick it up at the gate. Otherwise they'd just have thrown it in baggage. Anyway, you still got to go and get it.

Natalie and I are going on vacation. We're going to Mexico. You and I discussed this. Yeah, because you're good. Because you can't drink the water.

[Don Hahn]

I'm good. So it's a big deal.

[Peter Rosenberg]

We're going to Mexico on the 8th of August for a week. And in booking the trip, even though the business class is not, like, particularly special on either of these flights down, you know, like, they're the regular ones. They're just like, two seats together. There's no sort of bed or any sort of crazy thing. But I did it mainly because traveling with the baby, to be stuck in one of those mini rows like I just did to Europe, both ways. We booked Maya a seat, and we had a coach row. And I'm like, oh, it's fine. We'll have a whole row. There's no room in front of you to do any. You can't physically move with the baby. So while she's under two, even though my parents are gonna yell at me that it's too dangerous and I shouldn't do it, I have a plan, and I'm gonna have it handled. Don't you worry about it. We're gonna enjoy having Maya in lap while we can for another few months. So we bought Two business class tickets instead. So we can at least have a tiny bit of room on the flight to, like, be able to, like, stand her in front of us for a moment if we need to, or, you know, God forbid, feed her a meal. There's just no room to do anything. And by the way, it's not as if coach tickets are cheap.

No, it's not.

Like, when we booked our tickets to go to Italy in coach, it was like, oh, nothing. No, it was. You're still talking about $1,100, some insane amount of money. So it's just we are the consumer, currently is treated like garbage. It's like the conversation we always had about jet season tickets. It now applies to everything. We all keep spending the money, so they don't care. But the problem with travel is you can't really stop. No, I mean, everyone wants to take a vacation. Unfortunately, God forbid, like my friend Chanel, people have reasons. They. She had to go fly to Belize because her mother was there and passed away. There's always gonna be a reason you to travel. So the airline companies can give you worse service, less space. This is our talk. I'm sorry. We did a second talk about it. What do you want? It's Tuesday, for God's sake. But it's really.

It's a nightmare. And I know I give you a hard time about, why don't you guys travel more? You know, what, you're doing it right.

No, it's a big expense and. And uncomfortable, you know? And then you talk about how traveling via air was easier than, like, wasting the time to drive, how early I got to get to go through security and all that. Like, if it's a. If it's a driveable place like Boston or DC Forgot. I'll just drive. By the time I get my car and head to Boston and you head to the airport, get there on time, go through security, taxi on the Runway, hopefully not get delayed. I'm halfway to Boston before you even

take off, believe me.

And then when I pull up to the hotel, I get into the hotel, you. You land in in Boston, you land in Logan. Now you got to get in a cab to go to the hotel. I'm sleeping by the time you land, but by the time you get to the hotel, but you are under this whole illusion that you had more convenience, that what you did was easier and faster. Meanwhile, I get in the car and drive, and I'm there five hours, Bang. Door to door, sleeping in the bed. Four and a half hours. You might have been in the air for 50 minutes. But how long before. How long through security? Exactly? How long did you taxi on the Runway before they let you off the plane? How long do you have to wait for the bag? How long do you have to wait for a cab? How long was the cab ride to the hotel?

And now I. And also this Thursday, for example, when I fly to Minneapolis for SummerSlam, you know, you're praying you take off, because who knows what this weather's gonna be like for a few days. And once things get backlogged, it's just a mess. By the way, I saw my friend Chanel posted on Twitter that JetBlue DM'd her the exact same offer. Come on, guys. I'm not trying to be the big media personality bullying a company, but you gotta do right by people, man. At least travel. Having to deal with travel when you've just gone through a tragedy, it is the wor. Travel in the best of circumstances is a headache in the best of circumstances, Don. Let alone when you're dealing with the worst things that happen in life. If you can't show compassion, then what are we doing?

I want to start by saying, you know, I really feel like coming out of OTAs. I feel like we built some positive momentum and, you know, really, really happy with, you know, where this team is right now. You know, I really hate the fact that, you know, something I was a part of could have been a distraction for, you know, this team, my teammates, this organization. Because a lot of hard work has been put in and a lot of guys have put a lot of work in for us to be in a good spot as a team. You know, I'm happy that, you know, I'm able to put this behind me, looking forward to moving forward and just continuing to build day by day with my guys. You know, I really appreciate being a part of this team, a part of this organization again and I look forward to just building every single day in training camp, getting better as a team, getting better as a player and continuing the positive momentum.

Peter, there is the prodigal son aspect of this. You know, he had been here earlier in his career. You know, I wouldn't say coming back a conquering hero. He did have success in Seattle, but the last couple of years, last year in Seattle, there's some conquering and that one year in Vegas, not good. But it seems like the attitude is right. You know, obviously he was addressing the off field stuff that he was worried would be a distraction. It looks like he's been able to overcome that and now we'll see. Listen, if he plays like he did the bulk of the time in Seattle, with the weapons the jets have, with an improved offensive line, they should score some points. It'll just a matter of what Geno Smith you're going to get. But it seems to me, Peter, he's got the right attitude.

I'm not mad at it. I mean listen, we got to. Things are going the wrong direction. Can we start getting them to head the opposite direction? I know but remember last year as all this team might be able to win seven, eight games, just a few. We both were high on Justin Fields. We felt like the change of scenery. He's got some talent. He was a high pick. Maybe he finds it. He never did, you know. So Geno Smith's kind of the same thing. Is he going to be the way he's in Seattle or is it going to be the way he was last year in Vegas? We'll see if he's the way he was in Vegas. This will be another four win season and they're going to. And they're going to, you know, obviously draft the quarterback but they're going to show Aaron Glenn the door if he plays like he did in the beginning of Seattle. This is a team that Maybe can win 8, 9 games be in the hunt for a playoff spot. So we'll see Geno Smith on the jets expectations.

You know, I have high expectations for the team. I believe we have not only the right guys in the locker room but you know, the coaching staff in the front office and you know there's a lot of things to be positive about. You know, as a Jet fan and as a player and as a part of the organization, I expect us to go out there every single day be who we are. Which is a team full of, you know, hard working men, guys who love the game and a lot of talent, a lot of talent on street the team as well. So I look forward to building with these guys. I look forward to being a part of this team and seeing where we could take it.

There's an opportunity to Go back where it failed to go back to prove people wrong. He's only 35. It's not like he's, you know, an old man here. I think there's. There could be something left to be the bridge quarterback. All right, get you through this season, then. Whoever the quarterback is next year, whether they, you know, trade up or it ends up being a not so great season and you're able to draft the quarterback without having to make a trade. Either way, there's a new quarterback next year that he can maybe mentor and then maybe play a second season. We're already seeing, I guess it was announced in Vegas that Kirk Cousins is going to be the starting quarterback, and it's not going to be Mendoza. So, like, maybe just airing on the side of a. Let's not throw kids to the wolves here. And maybe Geno can be that. That's the best case scenario. That's the hope that Geno Smith can have a chance to maybe win some games here and then be that bridge quarterback for the next guy. Let's see here. How is he viewing his opportunity with the Jets?

You know, God has blessed me to be able to play this long, and I view each and every opportunity, each and every day as a blessing. It's truly a blessing and a gift from God. And so every day I get a chance to go into this locker room with my teammates, step on that field, my teammates, to be coached by, you know, great coaches. I just. I'm truly humbled by it, and so I don't look too far ahead. I know that there's a lot of work to be done, and I'm extremely focused on making sure that we do the right thing as far as the process goes, and let everything else handle itself, as I've always done.

Gino, how is it working with Glenn?

AG has done a great job at laying out the blueprint for this team.

He wants to take us and it's our job, job to bring that into manifestation. But I love it, man. I think the world of this organization, I think the world of Coach Glenn, I think he's a great coach, outstanding coach, and like I said, it's our job to go prove him right.

You know, Breece Hall's still here. You maybe didn't think that at times when it looked like he was going to get traded or he'd want to be out of here because he didn't get a contract. Well, Breece hall is still here and a major weapon for this team. And he spoke and he spoke about Stability within the organization and it's good.

Yeah. I just feel like in the past we've had a lot of craziness and turmoil and stuff, a lot of switch over turnover. And I feel like now with the guys we've brought in and the people we have, coaches we have, with the change of the staff and upstairs and through our coaching staff, you know, I just feel like it's a lot more organizational stability which helps the players, because I feel like the players are only going to be as good as the organization is. You can't have good players and not have a stable organization and still have a good team. So I feel like now AG's done a great job, Woody's done a great job. Mood has done a great job of getting the right people in place. And I feel like that's very big positive for us because it's going to seep down into us players and help us as well.

Okay. All right. We'll start with the airport. Alright, so if it came down to it, you guys are flying like media credential. Like flying whatever the way you fly. Are you giving up your seat to keep a family together?

Yeah.

Well, I want to start at the beginning. First of all, there's no media credential on flying, okay? It's just whatever ticket you have.

[Peanut]

I don't. I don't know any better. I'm just asking.

[Peter Rosenberg]

Well, just so you know. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a know at all. You're absolutely right. We fly completely regular. Now if sometimes like our job could book the airfare for us and depending on your contract, you could have either business class or coach. Sadly, mine are all coach and I'm upgrading, but you get the idea. Now the question you're asking is.

[Peanut]

I'm with you, Peter. I go coach.

[Peter Rosenberg]

No, no, no, no, no. I said they book coach. I now upgrade to first class to business class. But I didn't do that until I was 40 years old. I want to be clear. The pandemic changed me and I can't go back. But the question. The qu. Yeah, you got time. The question remains, would I move? So assuming you don't mean move cabin, like, no, I'm not moving from business class to coach to keep a family together. That's unreasonable. However, any other circumstance in which I would have. Are you talking about, though, potentially going from, like an aisle or window to middle? Or are you saying you're just getting up and switching rows?

[Peanut]

I'm talking about missing the flight period.

[Peter Rosenberg]

Oh, it would have to be a situation in which you're traveling with no urgency whatsoever. Like, I don't know how often.

[Peanut]

I agree.

Like, did this happen to you? Do you experience this?

[Don Hahn]

Like, are you talking like, the family and home alone?

[Peanut]

I passed it up. I. No, I passed it up because I go on snowboarding trips and I go with my family and there's been times where it's been offered and I just. I whistle like, it ain't part of me, you know, but if I really had to, I would, you know?

[Peter Rosenberg]

Yeah. I've never had that situation come up, Dom, where, like, it's a home alone situation and the person's like, I need to get back on this flight because my child is home alone.

[Don Hahn]

No.

[Peter Rosenberg]

Do you want my jewelry?

[Peanut]

Yeah. I couldn't imagine, like. Like, I'm only going on a snowboard trip. If it's a family vacation, like, I'll gladly, like, take a day and change to keep them together. Like, whatever. I'll still go to go snowboarding. It's fine, you know, I'll make it no matter what.

[Don Hahn]

Respect. I will let you make the comment about the Aaron Glenn, but for me, if there's a flight a little bit, like, let's say it's a 7 o' clock flight and there's a flight at 10 and it's going to keep the family together. And I got. I don't. And no urgency to get there and there's another flight. I'm not, like, coming back the next day. I'm not, you know, switching airlines or, you know, going. I'm not gonna go that crazy. But if it's something, all right, I'll go have dinner or something else that's different. But if I'm gonna. If I gotta wait the next day, go home, come. No, I'm not doing that.

[Peanut]

I'm also coming at it from, like a broke full route where, like, I really gotta eat it. Like, Where I really can't afford it and. But like, if I really had to, I'll do it to keep a family together, you know, You're a good.

[Peter Rosenberg]

You're a mensch.

What is your Glen point?

All right. The Glenn point. So, Don, you don't like the Aaron Glenn AG nickname, correct?

What if he's using that as a way to like, play down to them? To like, be like, I'm a players coach, I haven't won yet. But hey, guess what? Ag means I am the coach. And you will always refer to me as Ag the coach.

[Don Hahn]

Hey, listen.

And we will get there together. That.

That is a good poem. And that's a little hokey. I. If that's the way he wants to be addressed, like in the in, when he introduces himself, he's like, call me ag. That's a different story. I'm. What are you going to do? He wants to be called aj. I'd be more disrespectful to call him something else. Right, Peter? But just on the surface of what I know, like calling him, it just seems silly. But maybe he likes that. Whatever. Like John Tortorella. He liked being called torts. He didn't like being called John. It's like, so what am I supposed to do? I got to say torts, right? But that'd be familiar if I just called him torts without being told to call them torts. Call him coach Tortorella.

Now, you know, Michael would. Michael refuses to call people by nickname. He's disgusted by.

[Don Hahn]

But you know, I think he exaggerated with the whole Lawrence thing with Yogi Berra. But if a guy says, I want to be called ass, you call him what he wants to call.

[Peter Rosenberg]

Why would someone want to be called ass?

[Don Hahn]

I don't know why somebody wants to be called A.G. when his name's Aaron Glenn.

[Peter Rosenberg]

Now you call Kevin Nagandi ass, but that's your choice because he was.

[Don Hahn]

He was dressing like an angel. He's got a contract.

[Peter Rosenberg]

He got the job. Is that what you mean?

Yes. And.

Or if someone. If someone died is the other time that you think that it's necessary to call people ass. That's different though, than ag.

But there's a difference between yes and that.

Now I should say though, my only issue with AG is to me, there's always only one AG and is the rapper Andre the Giant AG from Ditc from the Bronx. So I always will think, well, there you go. AG of show business.

I left that part out of my art.

Yeah, you know what? I think that was polite that you let me get it. You know what I mean?
