Yeah, I wanted to talk about the fan mascot situation. What I really think we ought to do is have Don break it down the only way he knows how. In a glorious top five segment. You know there are four days left in the week. Four major sports. Maybe we do both teams. Two lists a day. That would be tremendous. But I wanted to clarify that Adam Sandler cannot be the number one jets fan because he's more a Bruins fan than a Jets fan by far. I know the Bruins aren't a local team, obviously, but if we're doing the Clippers thing.

Doing good. I have a question about the Giants and the draft and everything. I know. Don, you mentioned you don't always have to have that number one overall pick to get that quarterback. And obviously we don't have it with the third pick. But I just don't think Jador and Ward will be there. I think both teams ahead will take quarterbacks or trade out where someone will get them. I don't want to mortgage the future. So if you're not going to take a quarterback and Everything. They have so many needs. If there's a specific need the Giants have, which one would you take?

[Don Hahn]

Well, there's a lot of needs. I mean, Hunter is going to definitely help out. I would think in a secondary, there's a need there. I still think there's a need for another wide receiver. The offensive line is still kind of a mess. So what I look at, Dave, is when you need a bunch of different things, wouldn't it be better to trade down, get other. Get multiple picks and start addressing other areas than thinking there's going to be one guy at three that is going to save everything? Now, I don't know how they feel about the quarterbacks. They might not like the quarterbacks anyway, and we'll see if either of these two guys drop. But if you need a lot of different things, like, what do they need? They have nothing in the secondary. You don't love their linebackers. Although I wouldn't take a linebacker that high in the draft. Another wide receiver, I think would be helpful. And obviously you need the quarterback. So I would think trading down to me would make the most sense unless there's a player that they're absolutely in love with. And if it's not a quarterback, I still do it.

[Dave]

Agreed. I think Hunter is a twofold. Because he wants to play both sides of the ball where if he ever gets hurt, hurts his hamstring or something.

[Don Hahn]

Crazy, you lose two players.

[Dave]

Corner and a receiver, right? He lose two players. So I don't think. I think the value. Let someone else take him would be better. I know everyone talks about that. I think it's Arizona State wide receiver. Don't know if that would make sense because obviously then who's going to throw him the ball and I don't know which one. You know, at one point in time, we had the top draft picks projected at the start of the college season, which were Thibodeau and Evan Neal after trading back. So it's like, you know, it's a crapshoot. I get it.

[Anthony]

That's why I freaked out Dave over the draft, because you just don't know what these guys are going to end up being. Now, there was a lot of question marks about Thibodeau. If you remember, the jets apparently interviewed him, didn't want him passed on him. But everybody thought Evan Neal was going to be a stud and you couldn't. Now he can't even get on the field. So I just want as many options as I can. There's a lot of holes and the One thing, Dave, and thank you for the phone call that this division has bought them, I think is some time, because you're really delusional, and I think John Maher is delusional if he thinks that it's all going to come together in one season. When you're looking at a division where Washington's playing in the divisional round, Philadelphia is playing in the divisional round, Dallas has a load of talent and might actually, you know, pick a coach that can actually make them better. And they're better right now. So if I know I'm finishing last in my division, Peter, as frustrated as the fans are and it's been a miserable two seasons, doesn't that command you to be patient? What do you. What's the quick fix, Peter? What's the quick fix? You can't make the playoffs if you're finishing last in your division. Right. Odds are against you because the other two teams are going to be two of the three wild cards. So, I mean, if I, if I'm stuck in that and I got to play those teams a total of six times and you look at their home schedule, Kansas City's coming to town. San Francisco's coming to town. Minnesota's coming to town.

[Anthony]

Oh, my God. Speaking of the schedule, I could not believe watching playoff football over the weekend and them airing the commercial for jets season tickets. Have you.

[Don Hahn]

Do you see it? Yeah. Well, you got to do it, right?

[Anthony]

I get it, but it's just like, I know they have to do it, but in the, in the thing, it's picture, it's Rogers the whole time. It's just like tons of Aaron Rodgers. And then it shows the schedule, the home schedule for next year. I'm like, what person on earth, how dumb would you have to be to run to your phone and go, babe, we got to get these Jet season tickets for next year.

You know what's interesting? And I know, listen, Rogers, you're going to have a lot of highlights of him, but you don't know if he's coming back or not. So you're selling season tickets and no, I wonder the logic because are you trying to tell your fan base Rodgers is coming back and that he's marketable and you might buy season tickets because of Aaron Rodgers or if he's not coming back. Are you saying that I can't show Wilson because he's demanding a trade? Who do you show sauce coming off a tough state? How do you show a corner? You know, it's interesting that you're hearing Rogers isn't coming Back. Rich Samini said he'd bet he's not coming back. But is he still the most marketable guy on the team?

But he explained the reasoning is because they donated a ton of money to Comic Relief and he promised he would wear the hat.

Like, what's the logic of. Is it. Are there focus groups to say that this might make the movie more popular if you pretend to be a fan of this team? Like, what was the logic behind wearing the brewing.

[Anthony]

Well, if it's friends and family because he's from the area, it's kind of like a nod to your people.

[Don Hahn]

Yeah, but if he grew up a Ranger fan, then it's his movie, right?

[Anthony]

Yeah, but also he is a New England person and he's playing at. The character was pretty Sandlerish. I can see how you're just being like, I'm playing a New England person. I'm not playing Adam Sandler, who happened to be a Ranger fan. But I'm playing my type of person that's from this area. I get that.

[Don Hahn]

My guess. But I just also wonder, like, the logic sometimes of, like, why I think sometimes there's lot.

[Anthony]

I wonder if. My guess is sometimes there's zero logic whatsoever. It's sort of random. I wonder if it's ever strategic beyond this is the area where the film's supposed to be.

[Don Hahn]

Right. But when you do New York, you can go multiple directions or you gotta get approval. The other story that I heard was that the Yankees wanted to get paid, so it was easy for Billy to just say, I'm gonna wear the met hat because I don't want to. I'd rather save a few thousand bucks on the budget of the movie by just wearing the mad hat. So I don't know.

[Anthony]

I don't. Could a team charge to show the movie?

[Don Hahn]

I guess it's there. It's licensed.

[Anthony]

Right.

[Don Hahn]

I mean, I'm sure you gotta pay some sort of a fee.

[Anthony]

I don't know. If that's true, that is a very specific legal thing that I'm sure we get an answer to. In a film. If a character's wearing the hat of a team, is that team owed anything or is it seen from a legal standpoint as like your hat and your logo is out there as part of the world?

[Don Hahn]

I don't. Knowing the way that Hollywood works, it might be just like a time thing. Like if it's just something that's in their brief, you probably don't. But in City Slickers he wore the hat pretty much the entire movie.

[Anthony]

The entire movie? Yeah, pretty much.

[Don Hahn]

Well, it's two, it's twofold and I think they're connected. Sabanajad has points in six consecutive games. The power play is turned around and it's turned around because Abanajad now is a part of that power play and you get, you get Igor back and he wins the two games since he's been back. So you got your goalie, you got Sabana jab playing well. Hopefully you get Crider back soon. Listen, they were playing so God awful but all we asked was for some consistency. And four, one and one. They've won two in a row for the first time in almost two months. And I got to tell you I was impressed with Saturday's win in Vegas. That's the best team in the NHL. They were coming off a 4 nothing loss to the Islanders and the Rangers I thought outplayed them. They had a great first period and the fourth line produced the game winning goal and there's a lot to like. Let's see what they do tomorrow against Colorado who's been up and down. They should be able to beat Utah on Thursday. Maybe it the start of something here man. We said show me something and now they're starting to show you something. Kind of like the Mets. Remember I said it looks like their season's over. Show me something. They went on a toot. Let's see if the Rangers are on the verge of doing that. Then they come back on Saturday. Someone, somewhat within the last couple hours, murdered a gigantic roach in the other room. One of you, in all likelihood. My guess, someone here. And this is like Clue. This is like the game Clue. Someone murdered a gigantic disgusting roach.

[Don Hahn]

Why is we talking about that?

[Anthony]

Hold on. But they left the carcass of this filthy, disgusting monster of a bug smooshed laying in the middle of the hallway out in the office.

[Don Hahn]

Okay.

[Anthony]

And I, being a hero, took a bunch of paper towels and went and picked up this disgusting filth. Because no human being should have to walk through their office. Even if I don't know the other people who randomly show up on this floor, which we don't, and see a carcass like that.

[Don Hahn]

And obviously this wasn't something that was like stepped on accidentally. Didn't realize.

[Michael]

Oh, no, it wasn't stepped on the way I found it, Peter. And I'm glad you added the second part. So when I went to the bathroom earlier, I want to say about the 4:00, maybe actually the beginning of the 5:00 hour.

[Anthony]

Go ahead. I know what you're gonna say.

[Michael]

I found the big better basket, the basketball History of Basketball book book. Right next to the carcass of the. Of the water bug roach thing that was on the floor by the men's bathroom. So I put two. I saw. Okay, okay. Somebody immediately smashed it. I picked up the book, put on the table. But I did have somebody in mind. I just won't say who.

[Anthony]

You think it's one of our people?

[Michael]

Yeah, but I don't think this person is in a building anymore.

[Alan]

Oh, my.

[Don Hahn]

I mean today or ever?

[Michael]

Oh, just today.

[Don Hahn]

Well, it had to happen.

It's been the busiest that this place has been in, like, months with how many people are here today.

[Anthony]

John and I saw this at the same time and we both like, wow, someone used a gigantic book to smash this bug. The odd thing is, though, the book is next to the bug. You'd think it would be on top of the bug. I guess they moved it to check if it was successful.

[Don Hahn]

I guess that's probably what happened.

[Anthony]

But then left the book and the bug.

[Don Hahn]

Right. Who?

[Anthony]

Can you give me. You think Michael did this?

[Michael]

I don't think Michael did it. I don't even think he got that close to the bug to even really see it.

[Anthony]

Who do you think did it, Don? Because that's a crazy thing to do to leave A giant.

[Don Hahn]

When did this happen? Give me a time.

[Anthony]

I saw the bug alive. I saw the bug alive around 4:00. 3:30.

[Don Hahn]

So it happened between 3:30 and maybe 4:30 that the murder took place.

[Don Hahn]

So that leaves basically present companies excluded here.

The only concert that he's been to in his life, being Celine Dion, was what makes him psycho. This bug murder. And then pretending like I don't know who did this, that would make him an even different level psycho. Like the trips to Disney that. The thousands of trips to Disney. The Celine Dion concert. It would pale.

[Don Hahn]

Pale to the bug murder. I don't know why we're hiding the person's identity.

[Anthony]

[Don Hahn]

No, I hate bugs. I wouldn't even. I would just.

I would just avoid it and pretend I didn't see it. I would not go ahead and try to kill it. But he grabbed. What am I doing here?

But it's like a nice book. He grabbed, like a nice big sort of expensive book. Dropped it on the bug, murdering this innocent water bug that's just trying to live its life. And that's fine. I get it. But then you leave the murder weapon smeared and smudged right next to the bug. This is who Michael wants to produce. The Michael K. Show. This is dangerous to have a man like this around.

[Don Hahn]

I don't think he has an ounce of remorse.

[Michael]

I honestly think Michael needs a guy like that on his team.

[Anthony]

Listen, obviously I understand killing a water bug. They're terrifying looking creatures. But you can't leave the filth there for other people to now walk by. Anthony, you saw it.

Hey, guys. Peter, Don, how's it going? I had a quick point for both of you, Don. I just wanted to kind of respond to the Chiefs point, and I totally agree. The Chiefs haven't been dominant, you know, this year like they have in previous years.

[Don Hahn]

Right.

It's probably not, you know, smart if you're betting person to go with them, but I feel like, you know, when the lights shine the brightest, when they're matching up against the Bills and the Ravens, you know, until Lamar and Allen have proven that they're able to get it done against Mahomes, he. They're still the boogeyman for both of those two quarterbacks.

[Don Hahn]

You're right.

When you pair. When you pair that up with Andy Reid, one of the most dominant coaches of this generation after, you know, after Bill Belichick, there's not a tactical situation that he hasn't seen in all the years of football that he's been around to where that combination isn't dead for them to kind of be favored when the matchups come.

[Don Hahn]

All right, listen, I doubted them last year when they had two road games and they found a way to still win the Super Bowl. But the one thing that the one prevailing thought is, well, two, number one, first and foremost is they just have not impressed me this year the way Baltimore has, the way Buffalo has number one. The other is, man, you just don't win three Super Bowls in a row. I mean, it just, it just. It's going to be hard now if they get there. I think they've got an excellent chance to win because Detroit's never been there before. I think they're better than Philadelphia. But I look at Baltimore, I look at Buffalo, I just feel it's like the winner of that Buffalo Baltimore game is going to be so well tested than whatever Houston's able to put up against Kansas City. I just think you're going to. You're going to be going up against. Think about the team that they're going to face in Kansas City in the championship game, a Buffalo team coming off a win over Baltimore or vice versa. Right? It just. And you just. And you probably beat the Texans 21.

[Anthony]

But isn't that what, Isn't that what Kansas City does?

[Don Hahn]

But. But it's got to win. You don't win three in a row. All right? Just. It doesn't happen. I don't want it to happen and to go. I just think that I, I really think. Here's what I'll say And I could be wrong. And if I'm wrong, I'll be on that Monday to take it. All right, the winner. I believe the winner of Baltimore Buffalo is winning the whole thing, because I think Detroit's just too banged up defensively. They had never been there before. I think I'm not in love with the renegade coach that they have with Campbell. I think the winner of Buffalo Baltimore this weekend is winning the Super Bowl. And if I'm wrong, I'll be right here to say it.

We're going to talk to more people, but I got to tell you, I'm looking at this book, this whole basketball rules book. It's a gimmick. It's. It's fake.

[Don Hahn]

Yeah. What is it? It's.

It says rules of basketball. It's got a huge thing. It looks like an old, like, Bible or something.

I just see a bunch of blank pages.

Blank pages and then, like, the middle pages. Someone, like, made it. It's like a project. What dork did this? Like, what is going on with this thing?

Yeah, this is somebody that loves basketball. I've never felt the. A woman.

I don't understand what's going on with this. Honestly, it's one of the strangest segments I've ever been a part of. And I've been at this radio station for 23 plus years, and a lot of weird conversations have been had. This is right up there as the weirdest. Talking about killing a bug and accusing whoever did it of murder.

I wanted to ask you, Peter, like, it's my second child. I know it's your first, but it's been seven years. I'm only older. I was 27 at the time. I'm 35 now. Are you nervous, bro? Are we in the same boat? Because I'm a little nervous, but I'm trying to, I'm trying to man up. Or Don.

Well, you've, the thing is you've been through both parts. You've been through the delivery part and you've been through the parenting part. You're not, are you, are you nervous about the parenting part? Just because you're doubling up like, and obviously it's going to be twice the work.

I'm only getting older and I don't know, my energy and waking up at 2, 3 in the morning. I mean, I was 27 when I had my first show, but I mean, and then I see someone like Don already, I'm like, oh man, if Don could do it with twins, I'm gonna be a problem with grown people. I mean, 35 years old out of here.

[Don Hahn]

Second time's always easier, obviously. I mean, I, I, I had my two at the same time, they're twins. But everybody tells me that it'll be old hat. It'll come right back to you. You, you know, you're not going to have the apprehension you had the first time around where you didn't know what to expect. You're going to know what to expect now and, and, and your 7 year old and I can't say get, take care of himself, but, but at 7, you can focus a little bit more on the newborn and trust that your other child will be okay. So now you're going to do, you're going to be fine, man. You're going to be fine.

[Anthony]

Really appreciate it. Guys, guys, really quick. Three teams. I need to place my best three teams that are going to win the Super Bowl. All right, if you guys could tell me that. And I need to choose three teams.

So three teams that you think I listen, I think Don said it right. You like Baltimore, Buffalo, Buffalo, Detroit or Detroit.

Yeah, that. Those are my three teams. Now obviously one of them is going to be gone in Buffalo or Baltimore. They're playing each other, right.

One's gone this weekend, guaranteed. I kind of like, it's interesting to leave out Kansas City. Even though I hear you, I'll have.

[Don Hahn]

Egg all over my face if they win it again and again. It's not because I don't like them. It's not because I'm sick of them. I just, I watched a lot of Chiefs. They're on national television a lot and I just feel like they caught a bunch of breaks in their wins. I just don't think they're as good as Buffalo and Baltimore. And one of those two is going to be going to Kansas City. And why do I just feel like Peter, Kansas City will win the game. Really won't be in doubt. They'll win like 2110, 2113, and they're going to go up against a team that just came off a mammoth win against one of the best teams in football. Right. Buffalo, Baltimore.

[Anthony]

But I think that's worked to Casey's advantage in the past is catching teams who are coming off of a really tough game. Although last year Casey didn't get the buy.

[Don Hahn]

No. And they surprised me last year because they had the home game right out of the box and then they had to go on the road for two games like they're not doing it. And they did it. But to win three, to get to the super bowl three times in a row, it's hard, man. Buffalo did it four times. But, you know, I just think it's. Those are some beasts that they're going to have to go up against.

[Anthony]

Yeah, they just. If you lost everything, everything, that means you've gotta go and you've gotta buy all new clothes, you gotta find another home, whatever that you law. All your possessions are gone. Everything that was in that house was gone. You could be very well off. And obviously you live in that area. But now you got to start from scratch. So. And we don't know that all those people are millionaires or billionaires.

[Anthony]

And by the way, a lot of people have homes that have stayed in their families. And they're able to have the home because it's in their family, not because they're rich.

[Don Hahn]

Right. And also the insurance situation is screwed up there. So it's not like they're gonna. They might not get a ton of money from the insurance and have to start from scratch. Stop. All right? Not everybody out there is Billy Crystal, you know, who's been able to work in Hollywood for four decades and be able to accumulate wealth. But don't get in everybody's pocket, okay? They wouldn't be asking for it unless they really need it.
