Listen live weekday afternoon starting at 3 on 8 80, ESPN, the ESPN New York app, and your smart speakers.
B
Did you hear the news is out. Jay Z dropped another after the tickets were just insane for the first two dates for Jay Z at Yankee Stadium. They added a third date, which was also insane and immediately went as well. And I'm telling you, I can't afford
C
any of those days.
B
Yeah, no, I. It's. And they all immediately sold out. So let's go to Griffin in Connecticut. Griffin, I don't think what happened to you is right.
D
What?
C
Peter,
D
It's. It's.
C
It's okay. You know what?
E
Don.
C
Don Lagra. They're like. It's like the woman Sebastopol basketball. You think it's done with. You think their dynasties over, and then all of a sudden, it's the new dynasty all over. That's the point.
B
Yeah, he's back. He's Yukon.
C
You think the dynasty's over, and now the dynasties do all over again.
B
He's back, baby. He's back. He cannot be stopped. That's how Don does the man dominate. He dominates.
C
I'm surprised the screaming Dons are going out this year. That's normal.
B
You know what? It's a great point. And you know, Anthony is very popular Drop madness this year. There's no way around it.
E
No idea why.
B
Yeah. No idea why myself, but. But here we are. You know, Griffin, were you excited yesterday to see the Yukon ladies do what they did?
C
Yeah. You know, in that game, Peter, you know you're doing something right, and you're having a really good day if you're az. Fud. When. When you get a. You bet from Ryan Ruko in the first quarter.
B
Yeah. A first quarter. You bet from Ruko is a win.
C
Yeah. You know you're having a really good day when you're getting a. You bet in the first quarter.
B
Yeah. That means you're rolling. Thanks, Griftster. Good luck to your. Your Huskies Grifter, folks.
F
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
D
What?
C
Peter.
B
But he's he's still alive. He still got his six seed. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I think Griffin started with three drops in Drop Madness. Richard has even more. Richard might have four this year.
E
Richard had the most of anybody that wasn't part of the show.
B
Wow. Strong. Speaking of which,
F
Peter, you're the perfect. Out of the three guys, you are the perfect man to ask this question.
B
All right, let's see.
F
Because you know human psychology.
B
I do.
F
This is a psychology question. It's really not sports related.
C
Great.
F
Okay. One year ago on March 22nd, Rick Pitino was on a Saturday, did not play his best player for the last four minutes of the game, RJ Luis. I remember it right, Peter. Not only the best player on his team, he was voted the player of the year of the Big East.
B
Yes, I remember.
F
Okay. One year later, exactly. March 22nd. This time on a Sunday. Four seconds are left in the game. His sixth man who hasn't hit a basket in 15 straight times, hasn't scored, played miserably. All game played miserably. The last game doesn't even start on the team. Pitino says, Dylan, take the ball and go to the basket. What is the psychology behind Rick Pitino sitting out a guy, RJ Lewis, but telling his sixth man who was terrible, go win the game for us. How do you explain that to me? I can't understand it.
B
I think it shows that Patino is a guy where everything for him is feel and personality of the player.
F
And so you're saying an analytics guy, he would not be an Aaron Boone where they spit out the computer to him and he would follow what the computer said. Is that what you're telling me?
B
I'm 100%. I think that is a feel situation for Patina.
F
And he just felt that this guy can get the job done. And he did not think that Luis can do the job.
B
And by the way, last year it didn't work out in the end, and this year it did work out. It's, you know, you never know what's going to happen.
F
That's right, Peter. Great answer and always the best. Thank you, Peter.
B
The great Richard from Manhattan.

B
Let's go to Kevin, who's got an issue with Don and Anthony. Me too. Me too. Kevin, what are you. Oh, and he's gone.
E
He was upset that game of his conduct is gone because we got him into hockey, which I appreciate. That's. That's impressive. And now he needs another outlet.
B
And then you bail. You bailed.
E
Bailed is strong.
A
Yeah, he definitely bailed.
E
I didn't bail.
B
Someone bailed.
E
Don's a very busy man.
B
I mean, sure, but I mean, the gay misconduct. People deserved better, didn't they?
E
Listen, how would we have done. Look at this. Man travels everywhere.
B
I mean, well, here's the thing. It would totally be doable.
E
Yeah.
B
Because Don has, like, off time in these random cities. And, like, it really shouldn't be that hard. The idea of getting Don to figure out the technology away from home to connect to Anthony and do the podcast.
E
Well, look, he. And he's the voice of a team now. It'd be hard to get into a conversation going, all right, Don, let's talk Devils.
H
What do you got?
B
No, I hear you. I hear you. It's sad, though, for the people. 1-800-919-3776. Guys, the lines are open, and every topic is on the table. So no matter what the topic is, jets draft situation, Yankee season starting tomorrow on Netflix, which looks interesting. Sure. Nick's down to under 10 games left to go before the playoffs get started. So much on the table. Whatever you want to talk about, let's go to Larry on Long Island. What's up, Larry?
D
Yeah, Peter. What's going on?
B
Big Larry.
D
Yeah, Peter.
B
Yo.
D
You're doing excellent job.
F
I like you.
D
And you're knowledgeable of all sports. Of all sports.
B
Thank you.
D
And not only that you're a great guy, but you're knowledgeable in all genres of music from before you was born and all of that. But I just wanted to say, man, I'm. I got your back and everything you do, man. So if you need a little strip, man, you just let me know, man.
B
This is my.
D
I'm serious. I'm. I'm not talking about physically.
B
Okay.
D
But I'm talking about mentally, but physically, too. I'm. I'm 6 foot 2, 250.
B
Well, I hope I open all right. I hope we don't need you,
D
but you're a great guy, and I just wanted to talk to you about clutch. Okay. Clutch. I mean, the last few days, I've been chopping on Aaron Judd. And is it fair to say that he only gets up between such and such? Michael. Michael K. Had something about. He's hitting in the clutch. 8th, 7th inning on beyond. And, you know, whether. But does he makes a difference of the game. Of the game. So. So at Times he comes up in the third inning and he has two runners on and he doesn't drive the runners on, but later on he'll hit a meanest home run in the seventh or the eighth inning with no chance of getting up at back to tie the game or put the game and, you know, win the game.
B
I feel you, Larry. I feel you. I think that. Thank you for the call, Bud. I think we talked about this some last week. Like does Judge, you can pull out stats that will tell you Judge is clutch. But the eye test, if you watch the Yankees day in, day out, and you've watched Aaron Judge's entire Yankee career going back to 2017, your eyes will tell you that in the biggest of moments, it doesn't feel like he's been clutch. Now, I. Sometimes it feels slightly overstated. And I think you do have to remember that he breaking the record when he, when he passed 61, that was a clutch situation that, you know, it doesn't get, it doesn't count as clutch. That final week and a half. And I know he slowed down.
E
I was gonna say, people say, well, it took him a while.
B
I know it did slow down a bit. But do you realize the eyes of the entire world, every pitching staff you face, everyone knows what's going on there. And he still managed to do it. So he does have the gene. It's there. And let's also remember he was solid in the playoffs last year. What really hurts, I think we almost downplayed it when it happened, guys. I sort of feel like the error in the Dodger game was like the last thing he needed. It was like, it's like an underrated part of the Aaron Judge naysayer arc.
E
Not what you want is what you're
B
saying it was not what you want.
E
Well, somebody called, I forget who it was. And they, I believe they got on and said that maybe it was yesterday when we were having the conversation that like, if, if he made that catch, they would have come back. I said, come back. What, in that game or in the World Series? Oh, no, they would have won the World Series. Okay. But we had a long way to
B
go to get long way to go. But if he makes that catch, is it safe to say they win that game? Yes, because that comeback shouldn't have happened. Right. Nothing was in.
E
They win that game. Look, anything could happen.
B
Now it's three two. It was. It would have been three two going back to la. Right.
E
But we also fantasize about this as if, like the Yankees were without a doubt the better team. They weren't the better team. So you needed to play really good baseball, if not perfect baseball. And they did far from that in that series.
B
Fair point, Fair point.

Ah, it's H to the Izzo, folks, V to the. Is it? This is funny. As we close things out, we're down to the last six months, and I'm gonna head up to the Garden for a little Knicks Pelicans with the lady.
E
That's exciting.
B
Yeah, well, listen, I realized we didn't go at all, and I want to get to see a game and I know that the playoffs are going to
E
be challenging, you would think, and hopefully go for a very long time.
B
Yeah, I mean, listen, maybe I would try to make a call at one point, at some point during, like, for a game during the playoffs.
E
Little Celtics, Knicks, perhaps, mayhaps. But you know, to your friend in the. In the NBA, you know, by the
B
way, that's probably the best route. Honestly, that's probably the best route for me to go at this stage. Just go straight to the deputy commissioner. Skip over, everyone.
E
Hang on, hang on, hang on. I set it up.
A
Mart Tatum.
B
That's right. Good friend, good friend. Jason Tatum. A Jays. Let's go to Evan, who has a great call here. Evan. Evan. What now?
C
So I was listening to the K show earlier today.
J
Dan Grassa.
B
Yeah, the grass man.
C
Richard called in and asked the exact same question he just asked you, literally word for word.
B
Wait, but didn't he just specifically say he had the perfect question just for me?
C
Yes, but because Dan didn't entertain, it
J
would be my guess, since he wanted to go on a psychological perspective, he didn't get a response from the first person he answered.
B
So wait, did Dan literally. Dan just not answer it?
J
That's correct.
B
So what did he say? Dan was just like, nobody has time for your yo, yo, yo, yo, reindeer games.
C
Paraphrasing that would be the response when
J
he was basically like, this is a
C
nonsense question, not even entertaining, and just moved on.
D
What?
C
Peter?
B
Wow. He tried me back now to get the answer so he could get the answer that he wanted. Wow, Evan, thank you. It's. It's up. It's upsetting. 1-800-919-3776. Everything's on the table. Even, even WWE. Before this whole thing's done. Why not? Raw's at MSG. I did just get a hit up earlier, guys. I think I might have gotten my hands on a pair of tickets to Raw and to NXT for us to give away over the next few days.
C
Really?
B
Yeah. I got to work that got to go.
E
That's exciting.
B
Talk to the people for the details, but I think we might have a couple pairs of tickets to give away over the next couple days. Let's go to Ryan in Staten Island. Hey, Ryan.
J
Hey, Peter. Actually, it's Brian, but
C
so really quick.
J
I thought you might appreciate this, you know, the whole Judge booing thing. I kind of. I always think of, like, wrestling crowds and, you know, when you have those smart crowds who boo faces and shear heels, and a lot of times it comes from that feeling that they're a smart audience. And I just wonder when you have Yankee fans, especially in spring training, of all things, at a booing Judge, you know, does it come from the. Oh, yeah, they can push on us that he's the face of the team, the face of baseball, and he hit 60 do home runs. But we're serious fans, and we're only going to take him seriously if he wins a World Series, so we're going to boo him. Until then,
B
it's on the table that it's sort of like smart fans showing how smart they are. But, like, doesn't it actually make you look dumber than it makes you look smart?
J
Oh, I agree with you. I think it's incredibly dumb to boom, but that's my opinion.
B
Yeah, that's the thing. I do hear you, though, that maybe they're trying to come off at, like, look at the level of fan I am, but they really just come off as yo yos. Like, I'm not saying you don't ever have a right to be annoyed with Aaron Judge, okay? Aaron Judge is not infallible. You know, you certainly have the right to get frustrated with Judge. I personally, I think the most frustrating part for me about judges, and I get it, like, you can't force someone's personality to be different than it is. I feel like I just would like to see a little bit more passion from him at times. I'd like to see him be a little bit more demonstrative in big moments. But as far as play goes, I mean, it's. It's tough. Kevin in Valley Stream. What's up, Kevin?
C
Hey, Peter. How are you? First thing really upset my. I didn't move on, pal.
B
It's. It's not right, you know? But listen, the thing is, the people vote, and I don't believe in injecting myself into the election.
C
I got you. I gotcha. Just one thing on the Aaron Judge of it all. Everybody busting Aaron Judge's chops about missing that fly ball, that fly Ball is never missed. If Garrett Cole doesn't cover first base, fair point.
B
Also, two outs.
C
Two outs in that inning. He covers first base like he's supposed to. Enemies over. Move on.
B
You're right. That was. That was step one, Judge was step two.
C
Yes. 100%. 100%.
J
All right.
C
That's all I got to say that.
B
You know what? Thank you, Kevin.
C
All right. Thank you, Peter.
B
Simple to the point, but you're right. And people don't bring up the coal piece of it nearly enough.
E
The whole inning was a mess.
B
It was. I remember, guys, the moment I was doing a podcast, and I remember, I was like, wow. I checked the score, I looked away from the game and I went back and I saw what they were up, and I was like, oh, my gosh. Wow. Not only are the Yankees, like, going to win this game, but they're winning impressively enough that you could actually feel some momentum. Like, they could maybe. Maybe they turn this whole series around
E
and then Dodgers wouldn't had a pitcher the next game. They would have had to do. I think that's right. They wouldn't.
B
That would have been their bullpen game. And so. So maybe you chip away through that one and force a 7 in LA and have a shot at it. Like, it just. I was like, wow, this is going to be so fun, because it felt so dead prior to that game. And then I turn on the game and, you know, 15 minutes later, whatever it was, all of a sudden you're in the middle of this inning. You're like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. And then, of course, the game wasn't over. After that inning, history will make you feel like the game was over. It wasn't. It just was. Because one of the other calling cards of negative things about the recent Yankee. The team, the Yankee teams of recent vintage is once games get intense, it feels like it's over. And that's not just a judge thing, but he has to be the one, I think, who breaks it. If they're ever not going to be that way anymore. And they get to a new place where it doesn't feel like when times get tough, they get going. All right, Knicks basketball next.
D
We.
B
We are back together at three o'clock tomorrow. Have a wonderful night, everyone. See you tomorrow.
C
It's.
D
It's.
C
It's okay.

Fast-moving, candid, and seasoned New York sports talk. The hosts balance passionate insider analysis, humor, and a welcoming openness to listener participation—never afraid to mix earnest sports critique with wry, self-aware asides and a dash of wrestling or hip hop cultural references.
Hour four of Don, Hahn & Rosenberg brings a stacked mix of sports debates (Yankees, Knicks), culture (Jay-Z, WWE), and meta-podcast banter. Highlights include the ever-renewing “clutch” debate about Aaron Judge, reflections on Rick Pitino’s player instincts, and a series of listeners calling in to probe, joke, and sometimes repeat themselves across New York radio. The crew closes on a high, promising more Knicks, more WWE, and as always, more New York.
