Peter Rosenberg
Han, I want you protecting my blind side.
Don Hahn
And Rosenberg, When I was seven, I was riding shotgun and smoking cigarettes. This is in North Dakota.
Alan Han
This is New York.
Peter Rosenberg
This is Don Hahn and Rosenberg.
Richard
The best threesome I've ever heard on 880 ESPN. And the ESPN.
Don Hahn
See, now we're getting.
Peter Rosenberg
That's more like it.
Don Hahn
Brownshire's in the bag.
Peter Rosenberg
That's. I saw. So you guys really did collab once you got over some of the issues.
Don Hahn
No, we didn't collab once we got into our fight about it. He thought I was being too annoying about it and I thought he was being annoying about it. Once we had our little makeup after our fight, he just went crazy and did these all himself.
Peter Rosenberg
So you motivated him the right way.
Don Hahn
I went patino. See how it works?
Peter Rosenberg
See how it works?
Don Hahn
And now we have a.
Peter Rosenberg
And now positive results.
Don Hahn
I think at the end of each one of the intros. Now it has that Richard drop, which is tremendous.
Peter Rosenberg
It is tremendous.
Don Hahn
Richard deserves it.
Peter Rosenberg
You know what? And Richard, take them right now. Richard in Manhattan. How are you? Richard?
Richard
Hi, Don. Peter Allen. Peter. See the Jewish people, the mother has to be Jewish to be considered Jewish. The Armenians is the opposite. We think of the last name carried by the father ending in Ian. That makes you Armenian. So we're the opposite. Like Zach Boghossian, the goal scorer and you know, Sher and the Kardashians, the goal scorer.
Alan Han
He's a borderline out of the league.
Richard
Yeah, well, he does score a few goals. Don, I didn't understand what you told me about the hockey and the overtime not pulling the goalie. But you have to admit that's the greatest question ever asked to you by a non hockey professional. Right?
Alan Han
I will give you that.
Richard
Yes, absolutely.
Don Hahn
Your point, Richard, your point was completely struck down and ruined by Don. But it was a great question.
Richard
Yeah, I just thought of it. Peter. Peter. Listen, fellas, as far as Yankee Stadium, I'm an expert not only on sports, but on the subway system in New York. I've Been riding this subway for 55 years by myself. Here's the story. If you live on 86th and Lex, you get up to Yankee Stadium in 20 minutes. It takes you an hour and 20 minutes to get to Citi Field. The bulk of New Yorkers that go to these games are on the Upper east side between 59, between 42nd and 86th. And it's a much longer ride to Citi Field. It's 20 stop Yankee Stadium from 59th.
Don Hahn
I have to ask you this question. I believe your expertise on the subway. How do you know that the bulk of fans coming from the city are coming from.
Richard
Well, I see them coming after the games from Yankee Stadium. They get up with either 59th or.
Peter Rosenberg
86Th, and you know, where the majority. And so Richard, I've seen from Long island, the LIRR to Woodside and that whole, you know, dance that's packed. It's a march of people leave early because you don't want to be stuck waiting for that subway to get to Woodside. Like it is. Like that's the reality. It's. We all know the closer to the stadium you are, the more the fans that will go. So of course, the Upper east side, that makes total sense. But that, that's what I mean, though. Like, no matter what, fans find a way to get to the, to the stadium. That's the point.
Richard
All right, fellas, I got a point. Now this is what I'm hoping for. Secret league, okay? I'm rooting for OKC to win the championship and the Mets to win the World Series. Here's why. That means three ionic. I'm sorry, three iconic New York sports franchises. New York Giants lost Saquon because of money. New York Knicks lost Isaiah Hartenstein because of money. And New York Yankees lost Juan Soto because of money.
Peter Rosenberg
They didn't lose Hartenstein because of money.
Richard
Well, rules.
Alan Han
And you're repeating.
Peter Rosenberg
But it wasn't money, though. It was rules.
Richard
All right, whatever you want to say. One last question.
Don Hahn
Last question. Go ahead, please.
Richard
Can you ask Clyde? Really, in a quiet moment. You're close to him. Ask Clyde. And I would love to ask him this. If Bill did not retire after the 69 season, do you think the Knicks, his team, the Knicks Walls team, could have beaten the Celtics that year? 69, 70, which would have meant the Knicks would have beaten Lu Alcindo, who obviously became Kareem Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain in a. In three straight series and the greatest three centers ever. Ask Clyde. I would love to know his answer. Because he worshiped Bill Russell and I. I don't know if he thinks.
Peter Rosenberg
I'll ask him, I'll ask him. I do know this in a quiet moment only. Only quiet moments with Clyde. I do know, though, that the year before when they lost to them, there was like this feeling like, we're that close. We're gonna get them, we're gonna beat them. And then when, you know, they saw the news about Russell and that did open the door. It's. It's. It's only true. But I'll ask him, see what he said.
Alan Han
But he's. I never heard him repeat himself, Peter. He's given me that. That whole OKC Met thing already.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Alan Han
So you can't repeat yourself, man.
Peter Rosenberg
I just love that when I gave him a fact, he's like, well, if that's what you say.
Alan Han
Well, yeah, because it ruins on a roll.
Peter Rosenberg
He just doesn't want to hear it. Dave in Queens. What's up, Dave?
Richard
I appreciate it. One for. One for Don. Hey, Alan. One for Peter. Don, I love your full throttle throat when you get it activated. That's a full. That's full throttle right there.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, yeah.
Richard
And that's when we know Don is passionate, extra passionate as listeners here because we listen to you like scouts listen. Watch the games. We have the ear for that. That throttle is high level today. Okay, Topic. Okay, my. I'm bringing up the topic that you brought up, okay, now with Don Mattingly, right? That was only his. That was only season, by the way, guys, I'll do a Richard that when he hit a grand slam in the season, he never hit a grand slam other than 1987 season.
Alan Han
Crazy, right?
Richard
He never hit another grand slam. That's. Which is unbelievable. But then Don, when you said, you know, like, the upper decks were dead. Yeah, they were. They were. But you know what? That was a night game. That was. That's the Hearst pitch. It was a lob. You know, Donnie hit it out September 29th, upper deck, okay? Nobody was going to be there September 29th when they're 13 out with no.
Alan Han
Wild card, no extra wild card falling.
Peter Rosenberg
Right.
Alan Han
George was going to move the team to New Jersey.
Don Hahn
Okay.
Alan Han
It was an issue. Was an issue. All right? I'm not. And I'm not mad at it because the team, as you said, they were playing meaningful games. I'm not going to cut you back.
Richard
Yeah, okay. No, you're right. But we were disillusioned with Georgia at that time. And now when I see the guy's picture, I almost weep, okay? Like the chicken fingers. That Michael K. Weeps when. Yeah, I almost weep when I see George, and I practically do now. And in 1987, I was. I was disillusioned with George, as many of us Yankee fans were. Okay, so, like, you know that. That's what that was. And then, like, the Mets had like 600,000 more in 87 than the Yankees. Okay, that's not that much. And then this is. Okay, but thank you for the debate today. And then. Peter, can I just hit you with this, my brother?
Don Hahn
Of course.
Richard
I'll hit you with some basketball down line. Okay. Yeah. You brought up Stan Humphreys. He come. He was drafted by you guys, the Skins, you know, and Bobby Bessford, who had had ties with your Skins organization. He took. He took Humphreys to the Chargers and he went to the super bowl with us. And yeah, we got destroyed the charges. And I say we because I'm a charger since 1979, because Greg Nettles was my favorite Yankee in the 70s, and I saw he was from San Diego, and I chose the charges because of loyalty to Greg Nettles.
Peter Rosenberg
That's unbelievable. That is true. Wow.
Richard
Okay.
Don Hahn
Like you dream of.
Richard
I'm serious, guys. I'm wearing a Charger jacket right now in Queens and I'm sipping some wine because of that. I don't care.
Peter Rosenberg
Craig Nettles made you a Chargers fan is one of the most incredible, roundabout ways to become a fan. No, listen, I've ever heard.
Don Hahn
I thought Don's wife Nancy had the craziest reasons for fanship.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't know.
Don Hahn
This crushes that. Don't crush. Following a baseball player's hometown to find your football team is the. I love that guy. That is a. That is the most insane thing I've ever heard.
Alan Han
He was like a little bit of younger Richard, though. There's a lot of Richard.
Peter Rosenberg
There's a lot of Richard there. He's got some Richard tendencies. Well, how did Nancy become a Giants fan again?
Alan Han
Because her mom was a die hard Yankee fan. She wrote the rotation on the refrigerator so she knew who she was, her mom.
Peter Rosenberg
And my mother could. Could tell stories and she would go.
Alan Han
To Yankee Stadium all the time. So Nancy was kind of a Yankee fan. And she loved Dave Rigetti. That was her favorite Yankee, Dave Rigetti.
Peter Rosenberg
Okay.
Alan Han
And then Dave Rigetti became the pitching coach with the Giants. And she didn't want to become a Giant fan because she hated Barry Bonds. And as soon as Barry left, she jumped on the bandwagon. Bang. Three championships later, she's all in. Two kids later, she's all out. That's how it works. But because those. Those 945 first pitches with the kids, that's rough.
Don Hahn
I made out with Dave Rigetti. I'm mortified.
Alan Han
But Al Leiter. Yeah, because that was. Rigetti was Lighter's rabbi, and he. He set up a meeting, and Nancy got to meet Dave Rigetti. It was really nice. Well, that's at a. At a Giant Met game.
Don Hahn
And do you. Do you know if anything happened.
Alan Han
While I was there?
Don Hahn
Oh, well, I mean, the whole time.
Peter Rosenberg
Listen.
Alan Han
The whole.
Don Hahn
Yeah, just checking.
Alan Han
And she. But she saw Barry Zito with his shirt off. And then there was. That whole thing started there.
Don Hahn
That's a drop.
Alan Han
And it was.
Don Hahn
She saw Barry Zito with his shirt off.
Alan Han
She was in the. We're in the clubhouse. It was. It was a really nice. I thought I was very nice about.
Peter Rosenberg
I think it was great. Of Aladdin.
Don Hahn
I cannot believe that caller.
Peter Rosenberg
That's not 79. 80.
Don Hahn
Because Greg Nettles is from San Diego and I'm such a big Yankee fan.
Peter Rosenberg
Like, you need to.
Don Hahn
Former Raven, replied.
Peter Rosenberg
Our current Raven.
Don Hahn
Oh, look, the game doesn't need him.
Alan Han
Sorry.
Peter Rosenberg
He's a Charger now. He's a Charger.
Alan Han
Oh, no, he's a Ram.
Don Hahn
So, like, that means I love Jaden Daniels so much. Let's say Jayden Daniels wins a Super Mario. And I fall in love with the kids so much.
Peter Rosenberg
Where's he from?
Don Hahn
Southern California. So I start just rooting for, like, the Lakers, you know, like, where do I go? Like, it's. It's.
Peter Rosenberg
You have to. Yeah. Like, whatever. His favorite team.
Alan Han
This is.
Don Hahn
It's randomly.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Alan Han
So unfortunately, I don't know what the. What professional or even a college team comes from Nova Scotia, because that's where Sydney's from.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, that would be.
Don Hahn
You start. I start rooting for the Argonauts.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Don Hahn
Yeah. I become a fan of some Nova Scotia juniors team.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, there you go. That is wacky. Let's take Lavelle in Yonkers.
Alan Han
Hi.
Richard
Before I get to my point, I never thought I'd hear another Charger fan in New York. That's incredible.
Alan Han
Like, Cheryl Ladd mentioned it during. During one of the Charlie's Angels episodes or something. Like, what. What happened?
Don Hahn
How did they get you?
Richard
Well, well, with me, I'm. When I was a little kid, you know, the Giants had won the super bowl when I was, like, six, and, you know, everything was Giants, Giants. And I was on my road to be a Giant fan. But then I was such a New York found out that the Giants and Jets played in New Jersey. I was absolutely disgusted. I was like, wait a minute. As a little kid, my little kid brain couldn't comprehend why they were in New York Giants and they played in New Jersey. So I didn't have a football team for years. And then when I got older, kids were more into football. I was like in middle school. And then I just. I like Junior Seattle. I've always had a thing for San Diego. I don't know, maybe I watched too much these Company. I don't know. But I just said, that's my team.
Don Hahn
Santa Monica.
Alan Han
Yeah, they're not.
Peter Rosenberg
But that doesn't matter.
Alan Han
See, the zoo threw people off.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes.
Alan Han
With Three's Company. Because I used to think the same thing when I was a kid. Because you always. If you didn't know anything about San Diego, you knew the San Diego Zoo and the Open to Three's Company. They're at the zoo.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes.
Alan Han
So you're thinking they're in San Diego and it wasn't until maybe like over the last decade or so.
Don Hahn
No, they're from Santa Monica.
Alan Han
They're from Santa Monica.
Don Hahn
They're on the pier at Santa Monica.
Peter Rosenberg
All this time you're rooting for the wrong team.
Don Hahn
Wait, I got new. I got bad news for you, Lavelle. They are. That show takes place in Santa Monica.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. You should be a Rams fan.
Richard
My whole life is a lie.
Alan Han
And was it because of the zoo in the open?
Don Hahn
It must have been the zoo.
Peter Rosenberg
You should be a Rams fan. I believe Jack Tripper was a Rams fan.
Richard
I bleed bolts anyway. Yeah, right.
Alan Han
Awesome.
Richard
Alan, I called to get at you. Okay, okay. As a Yankee fan, you know, you Long Island Yankee fans, okay. You're the reason why people hate Yankees.
Peter Rosenberg
Yes, very specific. Long Island Yankee fans. Like we're. We're a species.
Richard
Yeah. This, this, this, this elitist thing of you gotta go to the game because the owner. I mean, I'm listening. And you say you didn't go to games as a kid. Alan, you're killing me.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, I couldn't afford to go to games. My parents. My parents didn't have a lot of money.
Alan Han
I grew up.
Peter Rosenberg
I did go to a handful. I did go to some.
Alan Han
They should have robbed the bank, but it was.
Don Hahn
They're real fans, by the way.
Peter Rosenberg
And by the way, you also this. My parents were Mets fans. My sister's a Mets fan. My son's a Mets fan. My wife's a Mets fan. They're all. I'm surrounded by them.
Alan Han
So they Go to Mets games.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't get to go to Yankees because nobody will go with.
Richard
I gotta say it for done. I gotta say it for done. The audacity of a billionaire to tell people it's crazy. Put out a plot. You put out a product good enough for people to go support. Maybe the problem is he made his money through hedge funds and stuff, so he's not used to customer service. You know, I don't care, Uncle Steve. And by the way, I would rather him than. How. Don't even get me started on how. Because the fact that we lost Soto, George would have. George would have literally chopped his own leg off. Then lose Soto to them if he had to give them a sweet. He had to change the name to Soto Stadium. 100 wouldn't have let them steal that player away. And I'm not saying George is perfect, but just as a man, he would have given his kidneys rather than lose him to the Mets. But that's another story. But this guy getting up there and telling people, oh, yeah, I don't like. Who do you think. You really think you are, Uncle Steve?
Alan Han
You're not to. Be careful, man, how you talk to fans.
Peter Rosenberg
Good call. Yeah, that's a really good call.
Alan Han
You do have to really be careful. Again, I. I love the guy. I'm happy he's my owner. Don't get me wrong. But I do. I think fans, especially New York fans, get sensitive when they're. They're getting called out by the owner or the players. Like what happened with Evan Neil when he's booing the fan like, be careful, man. Yeah, be careful.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, I. Again, if you're a Mets fan, this is a guy you dreamed for. You wanted an owner like this.
Alan Han
This is what you get. Good. No. What do you mean? This is what you get.
Peter Rosenberg
This is what you get. You get a guy that's now, all right, I'm invested. I'm. Look at all I'm doing for you. Don't. Let's not be 18th in attendance again. Let's not.
Alan Han
I don't. I don't think they will, but, you.
Peter Rosenberg
Know, I don't think they will either. But he's letting you know it does.
Alan Han
Kind of a bad look that, you know, a billionaire is like, hey, you got to help me out, bro.
Peter Rosenberg
Brody in Highstown. What's up, Brody?
Richard
What's going on, fellas? Listen, this pressure is unbelievable after this beginning of this hour.
Peter Rosenberg
Are you a Chargers fan by any.
Alan Han
Yeah.
Richard
No. You know, I wanted to say it, but I just couldn't do it, man. That's unbelievable. These guys. But listen, as a Mets fan, I'm gonna tell you I'm sitting on both sides of this thing because I am frustrated to hear the owner call people out. But when I watch the games, I'm also frustrated to see my stadium not filled. You know, it's like an hour and a half, two hours for me to get to a game. I go to a few every year, go out there with my father in law, but, you know, so I'd like to get there more. I can't. But it, it is tough to watch this team. We've been. We were begging to get rid of the Willpons.
Alan Han
Right.
Richard
We got our dream finally. And now we have the owner. Yeah, we're. We're not in a World Series yet, but we got what we wanted and.
Alan Han
You'Re going to see it this year. I'm telling. I just think his complaint to me was a year too early. You want. If all of a sudden we're sitting there in July and the building's half empty and the Mets are 20 games above.500, then I think he's got a kick coming right now. I just didn't, I didn't like the tone. And I don't think he should have to dip into his own money. I hate that baseball does that. They need a salary cap. I really do believe that because you got these billionaire owners that can dip into their own funds and not every team can do that. But at the same time, man, stay out of my pocket. All right? And don't. I don't think you should be rated as a fan by how often you go to the games. I don't think he's gonna be lower in ticket prices to make it easier. Right. So I just, it's, it was a really.
Peter Rosenberg
You know what's funny?
Alan Han
Tough thing for him to say.
Peter Rosenberg
I was just thinking this too. You know how sometimes you get that with the unfortunate thing a player will say, if you're going to boo, don't bother coming.
Alan Han
Right, Right.
Peter Rosenberg
An owner. I'd rather have a sold out stadium and everybody booing than a half filled stadium and no one really reacting to anything.
Alan Han
And I thought Michael made a good point is because he doesn't own s. And yeah. So his 1 revenue stream was taken away. So obviously him selling tickets is a big revenue stream and promoting the broadcast.
Peter Rosenberg
For him does nothing.
Alan Han
Right. So if he owned sny, he might not even have said that.
Peter Rosenberg
No. Probably doesn't care. But again, relax. And it makes no sense for him to promote. Right. The SNY broadcast whatsoever. Why should he do that? Because he doesn't get anything out of it.
Don Hahn
I'm frustrated about something here. I earlier today, opened up the document that Alan filled out. They asked us at work to tell us the brand. The sales department wants to know what brands we're interested in. First of all, it's endless. Don, have you opened it yet?
Alan Han
I did. I took care of it during our meeting.
Don Hahn
You did it during? No wonder you didn't talk for 30 minutes. It's impossible. It's endless. This thing. Yeah. What are you supposed to say to this?
Peter Rosenberg
Hold on.
Don Hahn
Let's see. Where do you normally get your hair cut or colored? I don't have hair. What am I doing? What gas station do you go to the most? I don't have a.
Peter Rosenberg
You just say wherever it's cheapest on the way.
Don Hahn
And I need gas.
Peter Rosenberg
Like when I need gas.
Don Hahn
When I need gas. Wait, you don't.
Peter Rosenberg
But that's.
Don Hahn
I don't have a loyalist. No, I'm not a loyalist when it comes to gas.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, do you have.
Alan Han
You have a location's my loyalty. If I need gas, I'm close to a gas station.
Don Hahn
Anthony, you have a choice of like, you're like, I'm an Exxon man.
Peter Rosenberg
Pretty much.
Alan Han
I mean, that's. That's pretty much what's been in my town forever. So I always just find them. Even when I'm on the road.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm like, I'll go to those.
Don Hahn
Really?
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, yeah, Yeah.
Don Hahn
I have never in my life speed away from.
Alan Han
I think it's a thing for some people.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, but you.
Don Hahn
But you just made that up. No, really, it's whatever is close to you and you need.
Peter Rosenberg
Speedway's generally on the way. And there's like three locations that are on the way that I know either on the way home or on the way to work. I know it's right there and boom. Right. Usually has better prices.
Alan Han
If it changed to a Shell, you wouldn't.
Don Hahn
All of a sudden you're going to Shell Speedways.
Alan Han
You didn't go to Shell.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, if it went 10 cents, I got a card and everything. See, look at you. Card carrying member.
Alan Han
Well, that's different. If you got the credit, if you got the card you got.
Don Hahn
You have an Exxon card.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, he's got the rewards program and everything.
Don Hahn
Who are you? Where do you live?
Peter Rosenberg
Do you go in get a churro.
Alan Han
By the way, though.
Don Hahn
But he's coming from Brooklyn. You think he's driving from some town upstate, like you got to.
Peter Rosenberg
Is Exxon not a popular.
Don Hahn
I just. To me, it's like living in New York. Wherever there's gas, if there's an opportunity for gas, I take it when I need it.
Alan Han
I stop going to Exxon after the Valdez tragedy.
Don Hahn
Yeah, exactly. I'm Vald's. It was a wrap for me.
Alan Han
We've had a good bounce back since then.
Don Hahn
Now, Don, I only go to Lucas now.
Richard
What do you go to? The one on 42nd street was, like, $8 a gallon.
Peter Rosenberg
What's the.
Don Hahn
What's. What's the.
Peter Rosenberg
Never get gas in Manhattan unless you're desperate.
Alan Han
Oh, yeah, really?
Peter Rosenberg
Honestly, you got to be on negative E. Like, if the car has to start, just start, like, giving messages, like, are you kidding me? He always stands for enough.
Alan Han
He'll get there.
Peter Rosenberg
Don't worry about it.
Don Hahn
By the way, I live in Manhattan. As a result, you end up getting gas cap. Happens. Yeah. The one on 10th and, like, 38th or whatever. 96.
Peter Rosenberg
And do you get congestion pricing on that, too?
Don Hahn
Yeah, you got to pay an extra.
Peter Rosenberg
Like, oh, you're in. You're already in the Manhattan and you need gas. Well, that's another $9.
Don Hahn
These questions. Oh, where do you. What? Where do you like to buy things from online? What is this, Amazon? I don't know.
Alan Han
Is there any other answer?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, it's usually the first.
Don Hahn
Where do you buy clothes?
Alan Han
Where do you buy clothes?
Peter Rosenberg
Caldor.
Alan Han
That's the only place I could think of. Where do I get clothes for Christmas? That's. I don't remember the last time I walked into. Well, I tell you what, the last time I went out and bought clothes for myself, it was Sears.
Peter Rosenberg
No.
Alan Han
Yeah, Sears. I don't do it. Nancy does it. She likes the way I look. She knows what I want. She buys it.
Peter Rosenberg
That's all.
Don Hahn
God, I love it. What's your favorite?
Peter Rosenberg
You never just say to yourself, like, I. You know, I need, like, a sweater. I'm gonna just go to the sweats.
Alan Han
Just my birthday. Nancy got me, like, three different beautiful sweaters.
Don Hahn
That's it.
Peter Rosenberg
You'll just wear the same thing over and over, clean. I didn't say.
Alan Han
I don't think there's any fashion now, like, suits. Even Nancy gets the suit.
Peter Rosenberg
So.
Don Hahn
No. So literally, what he's trying to say is what he. And I'm not. This isn't judgment. This is just fascinating.
Peter Rosenberg
I am fascinated.
Don Hahn
He has no interest in what clothes he puts on his body.
Peter Rosenberg
Right. He doesn't have a look.
Don Hahn
Like, he doesn't care about cultivating look.
Alan Han
There's things not like.
Don Hahn
Which, by the way, which is why it took him so long, if we're being honest, to cultivate the good look he's gotten. Because he was never even thinking about it.
Peter Rosenberg
No, it wasn't on his radar.
Don Hahn
Not even on his radar.
Peter Rosenberg
Didn't even consider it. Didn't think it was necessary. And then realized, you know what? I actually have a look.
Don Hahn
And now he's a lean into it. But of course, he found that look in his 50s, because he was never looking, though. But imagine if he'd been paying attention. He might have found it at 31.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, but, you know, then he wouldn't be who he is today.
Don Hahn
It's a great point, buddy.
Alan Han
You know what I mean?
Don Hahn
Also remember this, guys. One of the questions. What's your favorite fast food restaurant? To which I said, cheap burger.
Richard
Cheap burger. Cheap burger. No Coke. Pepsi.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, that ought to go over well.
Richard
I'm an expert not only on sports, but on the subway system in New York.
Alan Han
He's Stan Fish.
Richard
I've been riding the subway for 55 years by myself.
Peter Rosenberg
Stan Fisher literally wrote a book on subway. Yeah.
Alan Han
Did you know that he loves hockey and subway trains?
Peter Rosenberg
And hockey. Nobody better, man.
Don Hahn
He brought it today, though.
Peter Rosenberg
800-919-3776. Jacob is in Selden and wants to announce that he, too, is a Chargers fan.
Don Hahn
Come on. All right, enough of Chargers.
Peter Rosenberg
We need to have, like, you guys need to have, like, your own New York chapter of Chargers fans and meet up once a week.
Richard
Listen, I swear, I've been a Chargers fan since I was little, and I only met my first other Chargers fan on Long island, like, three weeks ago. There's. There's not enough for a chapter. We're talking two pages. It's not going to happen anytime soon.
Peter Rosenberg
First of all, we had some great stories of how I became a Chargers fan in New York. You've got to have one.
Alan Han
I have to have one.
Richard
It's. It's very tame compared to the other ones. I just. I grew up. My dad was Giants fan. I hated Eli Manning's face. The guy looks like the dumbest person on earth. And I loved Antonio Gates. I'm a huge Antonio Gates fan. Just watching him play like he's playing basketball. He doesn't belong in football, but he's a man and he kills it. Yeah. But we're out here. Justin Herbert's got mvp. I love you guys. Have a great night.
Peter Rosenberg
Thanks, Jacob. Wow. Just Antonio Gates. That's kind of random.
Alan Han
Coryell Chargers. They were Fun to watch.
Peter Rosenberg
The what?
Alan Han
The air. Coriel.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, yes.
Alan Han
Don Coriel was there, head coach. And they just threw all the time. They were. They were.
Don Hahn
I didn't know. I didn't know all the things that we've talked about. You didn't know the phones would end up blowing up for Chargers calls today?
Alan Han
That's what you need.
Peter Rosenberg
We definitely need like a DHR Chargers fan. New York chapter meetings once a week.
Don Hahn
Yeah, I didn't know it was a thing.
Peter Rosenberg
Send us the minutes.
Don Hahn
By the way, that is the thing about the NFL though. And I've always sort of argued about. About this and in the case show years, I don't know if you guys know this. Michael likes to talk baseball and there are times when I would push back and be like, yo, any football story is a relatable story in New York City because we have such a diverse audience of football fans. It's just how it is.
Peter Rosenberg
It's not just Justin Giants. You'd be amazed the amount of Dolphins, Steelers fans that are in this town.
Don Hahn
Everything Cowboys.
Peter Rosenberg
It's unbelievable. And now Chargers, apparently.
Alan Han
And it's because of how bad the Giants in Justin Giants.
Peter Rosenberg
That's correct.
Alan Han
In the 70. And the same thing's going to happen. You're going to see a lot of chief fans and you're seeing Patriot fans already. And there's going to be. Because right now, what the Giants and Jets are giving you, there's a generation to be like, well, I don't want to.
Peter Rosenberg
Why am I rooting for this team?
Alan Han
And unlike the teams in the 70s, I've got access to watch all these games. I can get the package. I got so many games around national television.
Don Hahn
Love the package.
Peter Rosenberg
Glad you do. Good for you. Bombas makes the most comfortable socks, underwear and T shirts.
Don Hahn
Bombas are so absurdly comfortable, you may throw out all your other clothes.
Alan Han
Sorry, do we legally have to say that?
Don Hahn
No, this is just how I talk. And I really love my Bombas.
Richard
They do feel that good.
Peter Rosenberg
And they do good too. One item purchased equals one item donated.
Alan Han
To feel good and do good, go to bombas.com espnpod and use code espnpod for 20% off your first purchase.

Don Hahn
Don Hahn and Rosenberg podcast. I didn't listen to anything you just said.
Peter Rosenberg
Catch this show on demand whenever you want. Just subscribe to us wherever you get your podcasts. I cannot believe this next call. This tells you now that this whole Chargers thing needs to really happen. Joe in the car. Joe.
Richard
Yeah. Hey, I'm not a Chargers fan, but about 12 years ago I was looking for a place to watch the Sunday ticket. Sunday afternoon, Lower east side, I think was like First Avenue around 14th Street. There's a whole Chargers bar. Everybody in there had Chargers gear on.
Don Hahn
But I really, I hate to bash this. Yeah, but that's not interesting. Sorry, sorry.
Peter Rosenberg
What are you talking about?
Don Hahn
The whole bar in this city, there's not a bar. There's not a team that doesn't have a bar.
Alan Han
But the Chargers.
Don Hahn
Chargers worse than the charts.
Peter Rosenberg
There's a Titans. You think there's a Tennessee Titans vote for sure. Stop it.
Don Hahn
Guaranteed.
Alan Han
I found it interesting.
Peter Rosenberg
Thank you, Joe. I'm sorry, Joe.
Don Hahn
But Joe, I appreciate you, but I'M telling you, I guarantee there's a Jaguars bar guaranteed.
Alan Han
James tweeted me. Says my boy Dave from Queens. Got you talking Chargers football. Love it. Been a Charger fan in queens for almost 50 years. Amazing content.
Peter Rosenberg
This is nuts. Evan and Carmel Devin.
Don Hahn
Hold on, New York City.
Richard
Hey, guys, look. This honestly might be one of the greatest days of my life, because when I was young and I was eight years old, I played Madden for the first time and we did random teams with my cousin, and the first team I ever played with was the Chargers. And ever since then, I've been a Chargers fan and my family is Giants fans, and they've always looked down on me. They say, oh, you're not really a Chargers fan. They belittled it. And to see this support from all these other Chargers fans in New York, I honestly can't believe it.
Peter Rosenberg
It.
Richard
I have friends who made fun of me and said, yeah, we have a no fan base and whatever. And especially after we. They moved out of San Diego. And I. I just want to say I hope you guys keep on getting these calls because this is truly a beautiful moment for Charger.
Don Hahn
If this keeps happening.
Peter Rosenberg
Tremendous.
Don Hahn
Now, if I will say this.
Peter Rosenberg
Thank you.
Don Hahn
The Chargers are random enough that if this keeps happening, then all of a sudden the Chargers may become the official team of the show.
Peter Rosenberg
And we want to have a chapter. Like, I just want them to get together. All these people that are calling in, you should all connect with each other.
Alan Han
I wonder if there's a team that we wouldn't get. Anybody like you just mentioned, the Tennessee Titans. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an old Houston Oilers and they love Warren Moon and it just followed them to Tennessee. All right, like Jacksonville, maybe.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. Jacksonville Jaguars. There's no way. There's a lot of Jacksonville Jaguars.
Don Hahn
All right, here you go, guys. In New York City, here's what I have. The Ravens are Mustang Harry's.
Peter Rosenberg
Really?
Don Hahn
The Browns are Haswell Greens.
Peter Rosenberg
Okay.
Don Hahn
Which is on 52nd Street. The Bengals are Phoebe's Tavern on Bowery. Steelers, I'm sure, have many. But I see Hibernia Bar on 50th street and Printer's Alley in Midtown. The Bills have Pennsylvania 6, Murphy's Sports Bar and Reds Tavern. The Dolphins have Slatteries. Patriots have the Three Monkeys and Halyards. The jets, of course, have many. The Texans have Avenida 1 Pen Plaza in Midtown. The Jaguars have St. Pat's Bar and Grill on West 46.
Peter Rosenberg
I heard it close.
Don Hahn
The Colts. The Colts have Keats Bar on Second Half the Broncos have stout, Chiefs have John Brown Barbecue. The Raiders have Peter Dillon's. The Chargers have District Taphouse. Was that the one they said or a different one? Because this one's on West 30.
Peter Rosenberg
This is. What's 38?
Don Hahn
So there's two charges.
Peter Rosenberg
There must be two now. That's nuts. All right, I think we made our point.
Don Hahn
I'm just trying to say everybody's got a thing. Packers, of course. Kettle of fish. Legendary. Sure, like you dream about.
Peter Rosenberg
Ron in North Bergen.
Richard
Hey, what's going on, guys?
Alan Han
What's up, baby?
Don Hahn
Hey, buddy.
Richard
Also a Chargers fan in the metro area. I probably have the most interesting story.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, so you think okay.
Richard
I think so. Because I was out there. I wasn't a big NFL fan until later in my life. Like in. In my early 20s or so. And reason I became a Chargers fan was because that was where I ultimately became a man. So, wait, I just stuck with that city.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, hang on.
Alan Han
So that's where you were? Bar Miff? Bar Mitzvah. Okay. Good for you, man. That's a nice. That's a nice place. I'm joking. I know.
Don Hahn
We were aware of what you meant. You meant sex.
Alan Han
Good for you, man. Hopefully it's happened since.
Richard
I hope she's not listening, but, Amber, it was a bachelorette party, and I'm sure your husband wasn't happy about that.
Don Hahn
Oh, wait, hold on. How old were you?
Richard
Oh, I was like, 24.
Don Hahn
Oh, God bless. And she was married?
Peter Rosenberg
Not yet.
Richard
No, it was her bachelorette party last.
Peter Rosenberg
Time out, last time through.
Don Hahn
Like you dream about.
Peter Rosenberg
You know what I mean? Ron.
Richard
Wow.
Don Hahn
Ron.
Alan Han
So you're part of her portfolio. So when the kids are screaming and the husband is giving her kind of problems, she sits there and closes her eyes and thinks of you.
Don Hahn
They'll always be San Diego.
Alan Han
I hope so.
Richard
Always San Diego. From then on out, Wales.
Alan Han
You know what?
Peter Rosenberg
Thank you, Ron. How about that?
Don Hahn
I gotta tell you, that is not what I.
Alan Han
That wasn't right for him to drop the name unless he made it up.
Peter Rosenberg
I mean.
Don Hahn
Well, she's not here.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Alan Han
You don't know. Did you think there'd be 17 calls?
Peter Rosenberg
If you're listening, call in.
Alan Han
Yeah. Amber from San Diego at a certain time in your life and you made.
Peter Rosenberg
A questionable decision, what does San Diego stand for again?
Alan Han
Wales.
Don Hahn
Yeah, you know what I stands for?
Alan Han
Anchorman. I think the meeting was lost long ago.
Peter Rosenberg
Are we done with the. I'm a fan of.
Alan Han
I don't know, man. I just want to.
Don Hahn
No, you mean because you want to. Talk to David? Is that what you mean?
Peter Rosenberg
I'm wondering, do we want to keep going with this?
Alan Han
I don't.
Peter Rosenberg
No, that's.
Don Hahn
That's too far. We don't.
Alan Han
The charger thing, I wanted to see when it would finally end.
Peter Rosenberg
Finally.
Don Hahn
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
But I'll tell you what. Ron's story pretty much should drop the mic and we should just move on. That's what I mean. You really want to close the book on that story.
Alan Han
That is something else, isn't it, though? Somebody listening might have had their wife's bachelorette party in San Diego, and her name's not Amber, but he's thinking maybe he just made the name up.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, she did?
Don Hahn
Oh, boy, that's tough, man. I gotta tell you, the actually going on your bachelor bachelorette party and going full, like, dancing bear porno style. I mean, that is crazy to me.
Peter Rosenberg
It's.
Don Hahn
It's a. To me, that's a. That is a wild way to go. How do you come home from the bathroom?
Alan Han
She's not a good person.
Peter Rosenberg
You don't remember? Listen, how do you remember?
Alan Han
But I don't think that's. That was a good person.
Don Hahn
No, no, no, no. Confirmed.
Peter Rosenberg
Him or her.
Don Hahn
Amber is not a good person. I mean, he's not. Listen, he didn't win any medals.
Peter Rosenberg
Ron can't worry about that.
Don Hahn
Ron didn't win any medals.
Peter Rosenberg
Ron was 24 and single and was like, you know, I get it, I get it.
Don Hahn
It still doesn't get you.
Peter Rosenberg
Let's see how far this goes.
Don Hahn
It doesn't get you into heaven. But. But she.
Alan Han
I have a feeling she would have, if not Ron. She would have found somebody else.
Peter Rosenberg
That's what I mean. So why not Ron?
Alan Han
For all we know, Ron just happened to be first online.
Peter Rosenberg
And why not Ron? And Ron becomes a charge.
Alan Han
Listen, I think everything. I think Amber's.
Don Hahn
You think what?
Alan Han
I think Amber's got a lot going on.
Peter Rosenberg
You think Amber, at this point, if she's doing that. Probably. Ron wasn't the second to last ever.
Alan Han
Should ask him what time it was at night. It was early enough in the early. And let's be honest, Peter, that marriage didn't work out.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, it's true.
Don Hahn
You hope not.
Peter Rosenberg
Hopefully it's before they're expecting that.
Don Hahn
Maybe early enough to get annulled.
Peter Rosenberg
Sam in Brooklyn. Hey, Sam.
Richard
Hey, Lawson. All that whole ron story is 24. I mean. No, no, you didn't.
Don Hahn
You didn't. You didn't hear my strategically placed. God bless.
Alan Han
God bless.
Don Hahn
You didn't hear that?
Alan Han
Yeah, we don't know.
Don Hahn
You know, you got to listen close, buddy. I, I didn't want to come out and go.
Richard
I, I just want the time to tell you I'm, you know, I'm the Packers fan, because as a fan of Happy Days, that went more.
Don Hahn
Makes sense. It makes sense.
Richard
No, listen, this whole thing with cone, talking about the Mets not being there for that series against Washington, a couple of things, some context here. One, Washington stinks, right? So who are the, who are the fans coming to see?
Peter Rosenberg
Second, you're going to watch your team wipe the floor up with them, Sam. That's what you do. But.
Richard
Okay, okay, okay, okay, but here we go. The two games before that series were at Philly.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Richard
The game that they blew Danny Young, right. I mean, what's his name? The reliever. Anyway, and then the next game was the one that Diaz blew. So. So fans, maybe they were a little pissed off or whatever. I happen to be at both the Monday and the Wednesday game again for you against Washington.
Peter Rosenberg
You showed up, you know, I mean.
Richard
Of course, because you're a real fan. But two weeks before that, they played Boston in a series from Monday through Wednesday and they averaged 30,000 that series. So you see what I'm saying?
Peter Rosenberg
So 40.
Richard
It's like they did against Washington.
Peter Rosenberg
How many were Red Sox fans? Because they do have a lot of fans. They do travel.
Richard
Well, that's, that's true too. But, but I will say this too, that they went into that Boston series on a four game win streak. Right. You see what I'm saying? So, like, there's momentum there. There's this, there's, you know, so I think it's like context. I mean, I just, he, he picked that specific series.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, Sam, see, that's my point, though. There's a reason why this came up. And somebody probably brought it to his attention and it stuck with him. And that's why he went, he was that specific with it. It's not like he looked up the numbers. Somebody on his, in his, you know, hierarchy somewhere, they were like going over.
Alan Han
Somebody should have given him the right numbers.
Peter Rosenberg
And then they said to him, well, you know, this happened, and it stuck with him. And it bothered him enough that when someone asked him about it, he remembered his recall of it and he gave that little bit of a, hesitant of a hint of, you know, we got to do better. And there's a reason why he did it.
Richard
They were there that weekend against Philly because they averaged over 40,000.
Peter Rosenberg
The next four games, 140,000 people showed up for that series. Right.
Richard
So yeah.
Alan Han
Not really good stuff. They're sure there are some repeat customers. That is one of the biggest, like yo, yo things. You drew 3 million people. That wasn't 3 million individual people.
Peter Rosenberg
You're right.
Alan Han
Some. There are repeat customers. Right.
Peter Rosenberg
If I had season tickets for like the whole season, that's one person.
Don Hahn
Right. Who's getting counted 80 times.
Alan Han
And that's another thing too. Like what's the Yankee season ticket holding fan base compared to the Mets? Because the season ticket holders, that's an investment, right?
Peter Rosenberg
Yep.
Alan Han
So if you say the Yankees have like 15,000 season tickets, well, then you know you're at least getting 15,000. At least. That's going to count even if they don't show up. I bet you the Mets are a lot lower. We can probably find that out. How about that, Uncle Steve? You got those numbers? Yo, yo.
Don Hahn
Wow.
Peter Rosenberg
He's down on him.
Don Hahn
I love where he's at.
Alan Han
Well, questioning whether he's really a challenge.
Don Hahn
I like it.
Peter Rosenberg
Did you see that?
Alan Han
I am at least consistent. This is very Evan Neal ish.
Don Hahn
I totally agree.
Alan Han
Wasn't as hostile. But I don't need the little drop man. You own the team. Give us a chance to win. Don't start. The little extortion will come out and maybe I'll sign a player. Stop it. You've done a good job so far. Keep going. Keep at it. But I'll go when I go. All right.
Peter Rosenberg
Stamatis in Astoria.
Don Hahn
What's the matter?
Richard
What's up, guys? How you doing? All right. Good stuff, bro. Hey, first I got three things. One, Alan Han. Pleasure to speak to you, bro. Every time I call in, I never get. You're never there. So I just wanted to say it's unfortunate. It's just a coincidence. It's just a coincidence. I love the new show.
Peter Rosenberg
Thank you.
Richard
I love the new show. I'm a die hard Nick fan. So do all the good, the bad and the ugly. You always speaking for all of us. So I want to say thank you before I start.
Alan Han
I appreciate it.
Richard
Number two, I really. I'm not a Chargers fan. I'm a Giants fan. However, I did own a junior Seattle jersey, the navy blue because it was freaking gorgeous. So nice jersey confirmed. Those are very nice. I wore that a lot in the 90s, but anyway. And lastly, I think Steve Cohen's getting the heart again, a bad rap here. I think that a lot of us are seemingly forgetting. We're remembering more that he's the owner, but we're forgetting that he's also a Met fan. He's been a Met fan just like me and, you know, every other Met fan since we're kids. Yes, he's a billionaire. But I think that the statement was kind of made in jest of being a fan, because I was at one of those Nationals games. Well. And it was empty. Empty. And as a Met fan, I feel exactly how he just kind of spoke it. Like it was the same feeling I had. I remember my brother got season tickets. I remember turning my brother. Yo, where the hell is everybody? There was nobody there, and it was the middle of the pen and chase. So I think there's a small part of him that was kind of speaking as a Met fan, you know, I don't know. That's just my opinion. I don't know if you agree or not.
Peter Rosenberg
It's interesting.
Alan Han
Don't call out the fans, especially when you don't know what the attendance is going to be this year. So I just don't like to be called out. Right. You put a nice team together. Let's see what happens. But if we acknowledge there are a ton of Met fans out there, if they choose not to go, you got to look in the mirror and see why. Now, I looked it up. Apparently, you cannot get information on the number of season ticket holders.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, I was trying to find that myself. And they don't have that, which is interesting.
Alan Han
I'm sure there's more yank because again, it's a better investment on the Yankees than the match. But I think that. Dude, I really think this is. We're going to look back at this and laugh because I think the attendance is going to be tremendous.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, I agree. I agree. But it is very interesting that the owner would go there and be that specific.
Alan Han
And I think he was wrong to do that. I have to love him.
Peter Rosenberg
Do you? We have more calls coming up. 800-919-3776. Last caller.
Richard

Wow. I can't believe that that was.
Peter Rosenberg
That's, that's. Those are great stories.
Alan Han
Listen, I don't, I don't judge him. He's just a single guy trying to get him.
Peter Rosenberg
He was a kid.
Alan Han
But do you feel at all bad about it?
Peter Rosenberg
No.
Alan Han
Okay, I'm just asking.
Don Hahn
Wait, wait.
Peter Rosenberg
People make decisions.
Don Hahn
Would you feel. Would I feel bad?
Peter Rosenberg
Would you feel bad if you were him in that moment?
Alan Han
Right. Because you. There is a guy out there getting married thinking that he's marrying somebody. That's true. And not so. Or maybe she was like, this is it.
Peter Rosenberg
And I just, I just. One last, you know.
Don Hahn
Well, here's the question, Don.
Peter Rosenberg
One less crazy thing.
Don Hahn
Let me throw something at you though. The kind of person who legitimately, on their bachelorette or bachelor decides to sleep with someone, is that really the only time they've cheated? My guess, My guess would be no.
Alan Han
Or if you had said no, did the supposed right thing, somebody else would go, it's gonna happen. But no, no, no.
Don Hahn
But even more so if it had already happened multiple times, Don, then your thing doesn't even matter. It's all part of a bunch of stuff.
Alan Han
Here's how you feel. Feel guilty in my eyes is if you like initiated it. Meaning like you were hitting on her. Hey, why don't you. Why don't you have one last fling? Here, have a drink. Like if you're.
Don Hahn
Now you're just a creep.
Alan Han
You're a creep. But if she offers, what are you gonna turn it down? He's 24 years old. He was a 24 year old virgin. This is almost like. This is like the playmate Falling in the bedroom. An animal house. Right. This is dropped out of the sky.
Peter Rosenberg
No, no, it's. I. It's a. It's a great episode in whatever sitcom we'd ever want to.
Don Hahn
It's. Listen, it's an amazing story. The Bachelorette. Literally hooking up with the Bachelorette. We could do a whole show, right?
Peter Rosenberg
The one about Joey and the Bachelorette.
Richard
Exactly.
Peter Rosenberg
That's what this.
Don Hahn
What was that guy's name?
Peter Rosenberg
Ron.
Don Hahn
The one about Ron and the Bachelorette.
Peter Rosenberg
Exactly. Yeah, but that's. That's what this would be, and it'd be really funny. Trey in Long island wants to make a point. Go ahead, Trey.
Alan Han
What point do you want to make?
Richard
What's up, fellas?
Peter Rosenberg
What's happening?
Richard
First of all, they be saying Michael K Show is a hot show. I think. I don't know. I think. I think this might be the hot show.
Don Hahn
I mean, listen, I'm not arguing no one, no one disagrees with you right here.
Richard
I want to talk to Alan about the Knicks. When's the last time a guard six to one under let his team to a championship?
Peter Rosenberg
Isaiah Thomas.
Alan Han
It's been a while.
Peter Rosenberg
You're going back Steph Curry. Steph Curry. Six listed at six, three. But I mean, let's be honest. Steph Curry did win.
Richard
He would never be Steph Curry.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, you asked me, you didn't ask me about Jalen Brunson. You asked me when was the last time. Time. So I'm giving you. I'm giving you Steph Curry and isaiah Thomas.
Richard
About 6, 3, 6, 4 with long arms.
Peter Rosenberg
Steph Curry.
Richard
Okay, He can't shoot, so. Can't shoot threes.
Peter Rosenberg
He shoots 40% from 3.1.
Richard
But if he's taking a three, that's kind of what you want in do.
Peter Rosenberg
Is it at 40%?
Richard
Yeah. You want him taking threes and jab steps in and back you down?
Peter Rosenberg
Is that why. Is that why he draws more three point and ones than anybody else in the league? Because you. Because you're not going to close out on him, right? You're not going over the screen, right? Like, come on, Trey, Trey, I know. I know what you. I know what you're. I know what you're setting up. You're setting up that there's no way the Knicks are winning a championship.
Alan Han
You're right.
Peter Rosenberg
This. In this situation, and that's why they got other good players. But I. What?
Don Hahn
He hooped before? Yes, he hooped in high school.
Peter Rosenberg
Long time ago. It was peach baskets back then.
Richard
It was, you know, it was Reckless?
Don Hahn
No, no, it was beyond that. He played a little D2 college B.
Peter Rosenberg
Ball a little bit.
Richard
No, no, no, no, no. I'm trolling him. I'm trolling.
Don Hahn
Okay.
Richard
But, but yeah. So if you're going to Jailer Brunson, what do you want him to do? You're giving him a little space. Am I lying?
Peter Rosenberg
No.
Don Hahn
If Alan's guarding Jalen Brunson. Trey, let me help you out. If Alan's guarding Jalen Brunson, he's quivering and falling down. What do you, I mean, what level. Do you understand the level of dominance that that man is?
Peter Rosenberg
I, I, the point he was trying to make is something that other people that want to, like, take the air out of any nick, hope that's what they're coming up with, that you'd back off that, oh, your best player can't be a guy that's listed at 62 or 6 1. There's no way you're going to do it. And it's just like, well, there's a reason why they got Karl Anthony Towns and other players. It's not Allen Iverson. Like, you saw that Allen Iverson team, right, that he got to the finals with.
Don Hahn
I was about to say the exact same thing. So real quick. Allen Iverson was shorter, smaller than Brunson, not just in height, but thinner. Took every shot and willed a team with the next best players being Aaron McKee and Eric Snow. Granted, they got destroyed by the Lakers.
Peter Rosenberg
But they won the first game, though.
Don Hahn
But they won the first game and they got to the Finals.
Peter Rosenberg
It was the only loss the Lakers.
Don Hahn
If Allen Iverson was the best player on a team with this kind of depth, I'm just. It's a different kind of situation.
Peter Rosenberg
Again, until they prove it, people can hate. And that's all right. Well, this was a lot of fun. Chargers fans. The show was for you. Thanks for listening to the Don Han and Rosenberg podcast. I don't want to know how the sausage is made, but I just want to know. It's good. Hear more of Don Allen and Peter.

Alan Han
It's a new day at Toyota, led by a new generation of drivers.
Richard
