App, 6 o'clock hour. We go with Don Lagreca. Peter Rosenberg, I'm Alan Hahn. Let me give you a tournament update brought to you by Sun Cruiser and Sam Adams. American Light west region will be the one to watch locally. St. John's that's New York's team now. They're the two seed in that region. They face Omaha. Yes. In the west region in the first round. UConn, the back to back champs. They're the eighth seed. They take on Oklahoma. That's the tournament update brought to you by Sun Cruiser and Sam Adams American. A lot of calls to get to here, guys. You know, as the Knicks and the Heat played tonight here at Madison Square Garden. I'll be stepping away in just a few minutes, but Peter, you've got a little story to tell from earlier today. Some controversy within the family.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, well, I didn't know. I didn't know. It's not really my story to tell. I'll let the man who told the story tell it. This is from the national morning show Vehicle on Sportsmanlike with my friend Michelle Smallman, Chris Canty and Evan Cohen. And here's a story that Evan Cohen told this morning. I'm curious to get your guys feedback. Peter Rosenberg was here from ESPN New York.
Alan Hahn
Okay. He's on with Alan Hahn and Don Lagreca in the afternoon and he was doing first take and we have a wonderful makeup artist by the name of Laura. Laura has a hand injury, right. She had this cast on the hands. Peter asked her to go get him tea and she had to hold it with the hand that has the cast.
Don LaGreca
Bad Guy.
Alan Hahn
Now, Jason sat there and looked at Peter and said, I've never once asked anyone else to get me tea in the year. Plus that I've been here. And he asked the one person that had a casted hand.
Peter Rosenberg
Horrible move by him.
Alan Hahn
And Evan did not let him live it down.
Ryan Reynolds
He reminded him every single second.
Peter Rosenberg
In Rosenberg's defense, he had no idea.
Ryan Reynolds
That that took place.
Peter Rosenberg
So he was just.
Alan Hahn
He was asking politely. I mean, would I have done that? Absolutely not. But there's levels to everything, so.
Peter Rosenberg
So you're really on my side.
Alan Hahn
I hear you on that one.
Peter Rosenberg
It's unfortunate. You know, it's unfortunate.
Don LaGreca
Laura Valentine has a broken wrist. And. And according to the way Evan describes it, you were sending her out to get you tea.
Peter Rosenberg
Now, real quick, I just want to ask. Let me talk to Don. He's known me the longest year. Don, do you see me as the kind of person who would show up somewhere and ask someone to go get me tea? You think I walked in and said, hey, can someone grab me a tea?
Alan Hahn
No, I can't picture that.
Peter Rosenberg
So do you want to know the truth or want to live in fantasy.
Alan Hahn
Land where I don't enjoy fantasy land or parades?
Don LaGreca
Let me preface this. You guys have never let me live that down. My poor parents. Let them enjoy one thing. Let me preface this by saying I was there. I wasn't there for this situation, but I was there that morning as well.
Alan Hahn
I.
Don LaGreca
In fact, I think. Peter, I introduced you to Laura.
Peter Rosenberg
You did? You did?
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
She came in to talk to talk.
Don LaGreca
To you about some makeup.
Peter Rosenberg
And then I. And then you said, hey, do you want makeup? And I said, oh, you know what? I could probably use a little something.
Alan Hahn
Sure.
Don LaGreca
A little powder.
Peter Rosenberg
Sure, sure, sure. Yeah.
Don LaGreca
So. So I introduced you to together now. Now, just for the record, I absolutely adore Laura. She's wonderful, and she does take care of things when you need them because that's, you know, part of, you know, the whole relationship with everybody there. There's stage managers. There's all kinds of people that are just willing. If you need something, they are willing to help you. And so every now and then, it's like, you know, I forgot a tea, or I was late or whatever it is. And she's just like, oh, I'll order something. He'll have it delivered, whatever it is.
Peter Rosenberg
She's a team player.
Don LaGreca
She's great. And you can easily venmo her if she buys you something. And she's quite happy with that. So this does exist in that world, and it does happen. With everyone.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, well, again, so I ask you guys then, based on what Alan just told you and what I'm gonna tell you, I'll let you then decide who the bad guy is. Me, who simply met this person, Laura. We had a lovely. If I'm being honest, we had a very personal conversation. Our first conversation was very deep.
Alan Hahn
Wow.
Peter Rosenberg
Because we talked about Rocky, and she is a dog person, so much so that her poodle, who she no longer has, who passed away a few years ago. The only tattoo that she has is a picture of her poodle on her wrist, which I took a picture of and sent to Natalie. Then Greenie walked in. You guys know Greenie lost his pooch this last summer. So a very personal conversation happened there. After I went and did the first segment on the air, my throat was feeling a little itchy, and I asked her if she had a lozenge. And she goes into her purse and goes, let me look. And I said, don't go crazy or anything. She goes, no, no, no. And she finds a Ricola for me. And she says, here. She's like, actually, do you want a tea? And now, normally, I would go, no, but Because I know of, like, I have to be on air for this show for two hours. Then we. I said, you know what? I actually. I would take a tea. Is that okay? She's like, oh, my God, of course. And she goes and gets me a tea. To which when she brings it, I go, thank you so much. At no point did I notice that she had an injury. I admit that I. Maybe I should have noticed she had a. Like, a black cast on one of her hands. But, no, I didn't show up and go, someone get me a tea. Someone who I'd connected with personally.
Don LaGreca
My tea.
Peter Rosenberg
How am I gonna go on air without my tea? You look like. You look like someone beneath me.
Alan Hahn
Get it.
Don LaGreca
Again, as much as I really want to just drag Peter through this, he was. And he. Don, I've never seen Peter like this before. First of all, showed up in a suit, which was the first shocking thing.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't know why.
Don LaGreca
But then also, you could just see how he was first day of school, nervous. And so it was about everybody just keeping him calm. No, no, no. I'm just saying, like, it was kind of. For me, it was very endearing. Like, I just. I've never seen you like that.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, yeah. It's not my everyday place of work. I hadn't been there for any sort of work in five years. Something like that.
Don LaGreca
So. So it's Very, very common. Very understandable. But for somebody who is incredibly as confident as you are, at least the way you carry yourself, it was not something I was used to. So I let them know in the makeup room, like, listen, like, you know, just take care of him. Like, we should take care of him. Like, he's. He's excited, he's nervous. He had a great opportunity, so, like, let's just make sure he's comfortable. So I'm sure she was going out of her way. Yeah, because that's what she does.
Alan Hahn
Listen, you could have said no if you notice the cast, but sure, not noticing it, you really need. She offered. So that tells you.
Don LaGreca
What was she doing?
Alan Hahn
I'm. I should do it.
Don LaGreca
Did she have to walk handstand to the coffee shop?
Alan Hahn
She couldn't do it. She wouldn't have offered.
Peter Rosenberg
By the way, the. Only for the record, all she did. For example, if I was there as often as Evan Cohen was, who does his show there, then I'd be very comfortable walking in the kitchen. Guys, I don't know where the kitchen is. I don't work down there. I was a guest. So obviously, if I were comfortable, I would have done it. But she offered it. I needed it.
Alan Hahn
I said yes, end of story. I think we're missing. There is a bad guy in this film.
Peter Rosenberg
Go ahead.
Don LaGreca
Who's the bad guy?
Alan Hahn
And the bad guy is Chris Canty.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, yeah.
Alan Hahn
Because Chris Canty. I mean, the story is barely out of Evan's mouth, and the first thing Canty goes is bad guy. So obviously he doesn't like you because he didn't even for a second say, I need more information.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait a minute.
Alan Hahn
That doesn't sound like Peter.
Peter Rosenberg
No, immediately.
Alan Hahn
I mean, he's not even complete with the last word of the story, and you hear bad guy.
Peter Rosenberg
Wow, it's such a great. It's such a great take from Don. Listen how quickly it happens.
Alan Hahn
Peter Rosenberg was here from ESPN New York. Okay. He's on with Alan Hahn and Don Lagreca in the afternoon, and he was doing first take. And we have a wonderful makeup artist by the name of Laura. Laura has a hand injury, Right. She had this cast on the hand. Peter asked her to go get him tea, and she had to hold it with the hand that has the cast.
Don LaGreca
Bad guy.
Alan Hahn
Now Jason sat there and looked like he's not even done with the stool.
Don LaGreca
Had to hold it.
Peter Rosenberg
Why did she have to hold it with a bad hand?
Don LaGreca
All right, I'm gonna get. Laura's gonna have to chime in. On this. Listen, boys, I gotta dip you guys all right?
Peter Rosenberg
No, don't worry.
Don LaGreca
In a few minutes.
Alan Hahn
But Canty does not like you, right? Or Canty doesn't know you at all because it was just the instinct to just throw out bad guy.
Peter Rosenberg
Can you believe that?
Alan Hahn
They haven't finished the story yet. So he. Obviously his first impression of you is that you are capable of anything. Wow.
Peter Rosenberg
You know, it's such a great take by you, man. That hurt. Now that I think about it, to think that I knew he's the guy I knew second best on the show. I know Smallman the best, right? I know Canti the second best. I know Evan Cohen the least. Cohen completely annihilates me, but at least he saw me. And to my face, he did say, I can't believe you had her get you T. I said, I didn't know she was injured. She offered. What do you want me to say?
Alan Hahn
But Canty, now, obviously the first impression that he had of you was that you were a good guy. That's why he said, I can't believe.
Peter Rosenberg
Right?
Alan Hahn
Canty didn't say, I can't believe or I need more information. No bad guy. Evan would. If Evan had said so typical of Peter because he's a piece of garbage, right? I'm not surprised by this at all. No, he said, I'm surprised because what I know of Peter, he's a good guy.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, Anthony, are you all right? I just saw Anthony flip out of his chair. Yeah, did you see that? What?
Alan Hahn
What the heck happened? He's talking. I'm not hearing.
Peter Rosenberg
It's okay. One step at a time. It's more like I got caught on.
Alan Hahn
The rug and I did catch myself.
Peter Rosenberg
The chair didn't do very well. All right, that looks. The chair's dead.
Alan Hahn
Oh, no, no, the chair's fine. I'm sorry. I thought it had something to do with what we were talking about.
Peter Rosenberg
No, no, no, no. I just saw him almost fall over. All right. 1-800-919.
Alan Hahn
That'd be a Hellboy to go, wouldn't it?
Peter Rosenberg
7, 7, 6. Whatever topic you want to weigh in on from the day, now is your opportunity to do so do it. We haven't talked to. Actually, no. This guy's been a hole for a long time. Let me. Let me go to Justin and Yonkers. Hey, Justin.
Ryan Reynolds
What's up, Pete?
Peter Rosenberg
What's up, Justin?
Ryan Reynolds
Both of you. First time on the air, I had a Knicks point.
Peter Rosenberg
Go ahead.
Ryan Reynolds
It was more kind of targeted for Han because I felt like he. He Juiced up the Macau Bridges trade. And. And I'm just not a fan. I think we traded away defense and toughness or offense. And I don't think the offense is.
Peter Rosenberg
What do you mean the cat. You mean the cat trade? You mean the cat trade?
Ryan Reynolds
No, he juiced up the Macau Bridges trade.
Peter Rosenberg
But when you say traded off the toughness, aren't you referring more to the cat trade?
Ryan Reynolds
I mean Mikel has good defense, but I wouldn't consider him tough or an enforcement. And I don't think he's that much better than Dante.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, but Dante was in the initial deal, was in the cat deal with Randle. So you're talking about. You're confusing the. That was picks for Bridges. The toughness went out the door for Cass.
Alan Hahn
That's right.
Peter Rosenberg
With Julius Randle and Dante DiVincenza, it.
Alan Hahn
Was just the five first round picks, which is a.
Peter Rosenberg
Don't get me wrong, that's a hefty load.
Alan Hahn
It is. But that had nothing to do with their toughness or the character of the team.
Peter Rosenberg
Unless you knew what the picks would one day become, which would be interesting. How about the Griffs during Connecticut. Hey Griff.
Alan Hahn
Hey, Griff.
Ryan Reynolds
Hey guys. You know, Alan was talking about St. John's earlier and how he can't. I think St. John fans should be happy if they get to the sweet 16. And the reason I'm saying that is Texas Tech is a pretty good team and earlier this year beat Houston. So if they run into, let's say Texas Tech in the Sweet 16 and they lose to a pretty good Texas Tech team in a very close game and a hard fought close game and they lose, let's say by a few. I don't think you can be disappointed because they weren't even supposed to make it this. They won the Big East.
Alan Hahn
They.
Ryan Reynolds
They end up a two season. The NCAA tournament. They. If they lose in the first round or the second round. Yeah, then you can be very disappointed. But I wouldn't say it would be that disappointed if you lose to the sweet 16 and then see very good Texas Tech team. So I wonder if you guys understand what I mean.
Alan Hahn
I do understand what you mean. You don't, Peter.
Peter Rosenberg
I just wanted to say that just.
Alan Hahn
To get a reaction. Reaction from me.
Ryan Reynolds
Okay. Okay.
Alan Hahn
I need to see what it looks like. All right. I always hate these conversations like this is what your record has to be in the NFL or this is far. How far they have to go. Let's see how they play.
Peter Rosenberg
You're right.
Alan Hahn
If they get to the sweet 16 and they get a favorable matchup and they get blown out by 20 points. You might be sick to your stomach, but I think the sweet 16 is, I think, the minimum for a two seed. You're a two seed. If you're a legit two seed, then you're going to get upset. You really should make it to the Elite Eight based on the mathematics of it.
Peter Rosenberg
Right.
Alan Hahn
I mean, the only team that's better than you in your bracket is the one seed. And unless they knock you off every other time is going to be an underdog. But we know that's not the case because they don't have a lot of common opponents. They had their schedule, somebody else had some other schedule that will ultimately determine who's good or who. Now let's see how the matchups go. But anything before the sweet 16, I think would definitely be a disappointment.
Peter Rosenberg
But Griff, I'm with you. It is situational because that second game, even for the 1 seeds who get the 8, 9, sometimes the second round game is a brutal matchup. So.
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah. And that's. And they might run into an Arkansas team that we know is already tested because the SEC this year is absolutely a dog. I can't even believe they got 14 teams and they got 16 teams in their conference. They got 14 out of 16 in the tournament.
Alan Hahn
I was taught this a long time ago, Griff, when I was doing updates back in the day, back in the 10, 10 Wednesdays, hey, guys, how are you? I would get into the habit, Peter, of not being a huge college basketball fan, like where I knew every team so that we'd get to the tournament.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Alan Hahn
And 12 would play five and I would say huge upset. Or maybe, maybe it would be like a 10, 7 matchup and I'd say upset in the NCAA tournament, Utah beat Fresno or whatever. And then somebody would say to me, yeah, but the 10 was, was a seven point favorite. Like, you can't get too caught. Like you can't get caught up in the underdog of your seed because there's a very good. I don't think it'll happen to St. John's it's a two. But let's take a look and see where everybody is and what, what Vegas has to say because they kind of seem to know who's going to be.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, it's, it's, it's just. And by the way, even, even a mediocre Kansas team, I hate playing a mediocre Blue blood team because on a year in which they're considered a. Whatever you know what I mean? When you play against the kind of team that just routinely goes to the second and third weekend of the tournament, they're never teams you want to play the first weekend.
Alan Hahn
The biggest issue I have with St. John's is they don't have really any tournament experience. So they're a really good team, for sure. But now this once, that. Once they tip off 9:45 national TV.
Peter Rosenberg
No, the one person. The one person with tons of experience cannot pick up a basketball and play.
Alan Hahn
And he could try to impart that to them, but it's going to.
Peter Rosenberg
We all know how different it hits. Let's go to Tessa. Hey, Tessa.
Ryan Reynolds
Hey, guys. Thank you much for taking my call. Of course, Alan was still on, but.
Alan Hahn
I have three calls now. I guess Allen is the driving force of this show, then. God forbid. We can't move on one segment without Alan. That's three calls, right? I wish Allen was on. And you had a point for Allen. You know, I'm gonna lay out. And there's no bigger supporter on this. Me, Tessa, you and Peter.
Ryan Reynolds
Tessa.
Peter Rosenberg
You know what, Tessa? I mean, I got to tell you, if. If you wish that you could speak to Alan, he could have. He could have picked up your call. He could have picked up your call.
Ryan Reynolds
Both of y'all, knock it off. The reason why I said this, because of this. I'm gonna tell you how I was feeling. That's the only reason why. So on Friday, I. I was feeling happy and hollow. You want to know why I was happy? For Richard, man. Richard of Manhattan. Meeting you guys, getting an invite. Come. It was great to see all of that. But then I was feeling hollow inside, soulless, because I'm like, wow, are they going to do the same thing when they come to New Jersey? Or have they been to Jersey and didn't tell me? Because I would love to meet y'all. That's why I wish Allen was on, too, because it's for all three of you guys. Because I felt so hollow.
Peter Rosenberg
Like, why would you tell people.
Ryan Reynolds
But, Richard, when they come to New Jersey, I want to meet.
Peter Rosenberg
But we've. We've been to New Jersey. But we've been to New Jersey multiple times. Have you?
Ryan Reynolds
And once the time that you guys did tell me when it was the go. When it was your send off. Well, Michael, remember I told you I had, like, three patient evaluations that day, and I could not. They was not playing.
Alan Hahn
But you've always had an open invite with you. But. But, Tessa, you've been known to go out. You Were in the suite with Bart. I guess it was like last year or the year before or whatever. Right. Richard is not known for going out. We've asked him. He says flat out no. So we kind of make it. We kind of made it our mission to get him there. But listen, Jersey, you're always invited. Tessa.
Peter Rosenberg
Of course.
Alan Hahn
I mean, I believe I could be corrected. I'm sure. But I believe our beach bash will be back in Jersey again.
Peter Rosenberg
Believe so.
Alan Hahn
I'm sure we'll have a remote. We're going to be doing a lot more remotes, by the way.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, I think of everything. It feels that way already, but. Yeah, you have to understand.
Alan Hahn
Hollow inside.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. No, Richard. Richard doesn't go out. So that's what made it incredible that he came out. Oh, I'll just say, excuse me one sec. I'll give him water and I'll say, here, rinse out. Now, do you think people are gonna get hip to the fact that if they've sat on hold for hours and then Allen disappears and they magically get picked up, do you think they may ever put anything together there?
Alan Hahn
I think they should, because obviously it's all about Alan. Alan could have picked up. Griffin could have picked up. Tessa, who was the caller that was on hold a while specifically wanting to talk to Allen about the judges. Deal. Justin Hours. Listen, two and two is four, last I checked.
Peter Rosenberg
And Griftster, I don't know if you noticed, Griftster sits on hold endlessly.
Alan Hahn
And even Dick, do you think any of our listeners, because of just the hit that Richard was, will think of maybe switching dentists? If you live in Manhattan and he's in your insurance.
Peter Rosenberg
I have all papers.
Alan Hahn
You think we got him some patients, they're close.
Peter Rosenberg
Here, I'll give him water and I'll say, here, rinse out.
Alan Hahn
I believe that if I lived near his office, that I'd make him my dentist. I'm very happy with my dentist. But if I lived in Manhattan. Dr. Occupanti is my dentist.
Peter Rosenberg
Drop.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, that's a bit. That's right. There's my drops and then there's Allen's drops. Right. That's a. John Calipari happens to be Allen's dentist.
Peter Rosenberg
You meant name drop. I meant drop. Drop. Dr. Occupanti is my dentist.
Alan Hahn
Just a great drop like that. It's a nice name. Jim. I call him Jim because he lives across the street.
Ryan Reynolds
I see. Uh huh.
Alan Hahn
But if I lived across the street from Richard, I would trust him. You wouldn't trust Your teeth to Richard.
Ryan Reynolds
Is that his name? Utoko?
Peter Rosenberg
I don't know.
Alan Hahn
Really?
Peter Rosenberg
I loved Richard. I adored.
Alan Hahn
That's interesting.
Peter Rosenberg
What I want him in my mouth is the question.
Ryan Reynolds
Oh, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't. I don't know. I have to think. Let's go to. Let's go to Jonathan in la. Hey, Jonathan.
Ryan Reynolds
Hi, guys. Guys, I always call for you for asking a Peter question. I actually was gonna tell Alan something.
Peter Rosenberg
No, you gotta be joking.
Alan Hahn
All right.
Peter Rosenberg
Go ahead.
Ryan Reynolds
It was actually that, that rant he did on you, Peter, about Curry scoring 4,000 PO threes. I mean, I'mma call tomorrow again or later this week and actually ask him about that. I think we. You should actually, you know, I mean, take advantage of these players. You know, appreciate players like these. When was the last time a player scored 4,000? Never. Not even Reggie Miller was close to that. But I'll call later to Alan and I'll ask him. I mean, we should appreciate him. But another thing, next week, guys, I'm actually going to New York for opening day Yankees. Too bad you guys are not gonna have your. Your get together. I was watching your life, Peter. Shout out to. To Dick from Manhattan, man. That guy is a living legend. Hopefully one day I get to go with my son and I get to meet you guys and Peter, those rumors are getting true, man. Austin is Gonna come to WrestleMania. So am I. And Johnson can't wait for John Cena later today. Thank you, fellas.
Peter Rosenberg
Thanks, buddy. Well, guess what? If you come to WrestleMania, Jonathan, you will also meet Ms. Hatton and baby Hatton, who is making the trip to Las Vegas.
Alan Hahn
Really?
Peter Rosenberg
That's right. Baby Hatton's what we're going with little. I just went up, right. It is April. We will be flying April 16, and that will be her first trip. She was born January 15, so February 15, March 15, April 15, she'll be three months in a day.
Alan Hahn
That's a lot. It's a lot.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, I mean, your kids still haven't been on a trip, have they?
Alan Hahn
No, not yet. Not because of worry. They perfectly just the time to be able to do it. But yeah, they could go on a flight. But listen, my kids are seven, yours are three months.
Peter Rosenberg
No, no, but I've been told by many people that this is the. Listen, we're a traveling family, particularly my wife, she's traveling next week. And I've been told by people who are big on traveling, get it in early while the kids are little, because you could just kind of strap them to you and take them for the Ride.
Alan Hahn
Right.
Peter Rosenberg
Once they get to be 2 and 3 and you're chasing them around restaurants, it's not really dope.
Alan Hahn
No problem. Yeah, you're right.
Peter Rosenberg
But at this point, tomorrow's her two month appointment. We're getting a couple of vaccines done that we haven't done yet tomorrow. So once she's all vaccinated and good to go, it'll be a little scary going on the plane, you know. By the way, I saw an excellent thing on social media, Don. I saw a person who received, they posted a video and they said, I just got this from the person sitting in front of me who's flying with their baby for the first time. And the parents of this baby handed out a Ziploc baggie filled with candies, treats and earplugs, saying, it's our first time, please be patient with us. That's very nice. Is that not the most.
Alan Hahn
That's going above and beyond.
Peter Rosenberg
That's really going above and beyond.
Alan Hahn
You won't do that.
Peter Rosenberg
No, but I, but I thought about it though, and thought, that's lovely.
Alan Hahn
That's very nice. That is very nice. But listen, you're gonna hook up with David when you're out there?
Peter Rosenberg
Well, I'm, I always see Dave, I mean, hookup.
Alan Hahn
He's got a lot going on in Vegas.
Peter Rosenberg
He's always got so many different things. And then I'm working all day, Saturday and Sunday, I'll usually see him. Late night at the bar is where we usually catch up. 1-800-919-3776. We got a line or two open. We got some nicks, all Knicks calls right now, but it's all on the table. If you want to talk about the Giants future with Jameis Winston, that's a conversation we can have. Jameson Winston, it's all on the table for you. It's Peter and Don on Don Han Rosenberg. But Don, I'm told that you need to talk to me about cars.

We haven't talked to music all day today. Just Jacob, real quick, what is this one about? No, your mic's not on. Here we go. You're gonna get it. You're gonna take your time.
Alan Hahn
Oh, no reason. No reason at all.
Peter Rosenberg
But what was it?
Alan Hahn
It was Violet. I mean, no, sorry, Malibu by Hole.
Peter Rosenberg
No, it's hole.
Alan Hahn
Courtney Love.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, of course we know hole. We love hole.
Alan Hahn
Dr. Occupinti's my dentist. You know what? That's good.
Peter Rosenberg
I will empower job as a father. Call the ambulance. He thought it was funny that I said ambulance that way. What? How do you say it?
Alan Hahn
Ambulance.
Peter Rosenberg
And what I say Ambulance.
Alan Hahn
That's what you said? Is that the way you say it?
Peter Rosenberg
I will empower your job as a father. Call the ambulance. Call the ambulance. Yeah, ambulance. I think I'm mixing it with Kendrick, who on Not Like Us says call it Amber Lance. I think I'm. I think I'm mixing it with Kendrick.
Alan Hahn
I thought it kind of felt like WWE promo style to me, like really.
Peter Rosenberg
Emphasizing the ambulance portion of the proceedings. We're gonna have a. We're gonna have an ambulance match. Something like that. By the way, John Cena's heel turn complete today. He opened the show with a promo, if you were wondering. I won't spoil it, because the people who care the most probably haven't watched it yet, but it's the opening segment of Raw, which they aired live from Belgium at 3:00. So now that it's Netflixed on, they don't do tape delay. It just airs it whenever it happens.
Alan Hahn
Right, exactly.
Peter Rosenberg
So I guess I'm still gonna end up watching it tonight. I. Obviously, I was busy doing this radio program program. 1-800-919-3776. Whatever topic suits your fancy that we touched today. We want to touch you, the people. And we're waiting for you right now. Let's go to Edgar in the car. Hey, Edgar.
Ryan Reynolds
Good afternoon, gentlemen.
Peter Rosenberg
Hey, Edgar.
Ryan Reynolds
On a couple of things. One, I believe I have a good contender for the most evil woman starring role on a film.
Alan Hahn
Okay.
Ryan Reynolds
The. The character Martha, played by Penelope Cruz in the movie Blow. Pure, unadulterated evil.
Alan Hahn
I only saw it once, and it was like 20 years ago. I'd have to resume it. Oh.
Peter Rosenberg
But I do remember her being extremely hot. But I don't remember any Penelope Cruise.
Alan Hahn
Is it doesn't get talked about enough.
Peter Rosenberg
I agree.
Alan Hahn
And didn't the director of the film die of a cocaine overdose? Which is kind of ironic. Is that true? Again, I said I believe the director of the film Blow ended up dying of a cocaine overdose.
Ryan Reynolds
Oh, that. I'm not sure, but that would be poetic.
Alan Hahn
Wouldn't it be a shame?
Peter Rosenberg
Did he say hilarious?
Alan Hahn
No, he said poetic, which is similar.
Peter Rosenberg
God, Edgar. All right, what else do you have?
Ryan Reynolds
Edgar, I just wanted to say, with the Knicks, quickly Been a big Knicks fan. I've seen the Giants win, I've seen the Mets win, I've seen the Rangers win. In my lifetime. The Knicks winning is the last thing I have to do as far as bucket listed sports. And I think the Knicks team has presently constituted has a great chance. I know we have not, they have not done well against the Cavaliers and the Celtics this year. But at the same time we have, they have not played those teams with Mitchell Robinson healthy. So I think if they can get healthy, make a good run with Brunson and with Mitch there, I do believe the Knicks have a very good shot of making a deep run and getting to the third round.
Peter Rosenberg
I think, Edgar, that what makes the Knicks a fascinating wild card is the fact that we have not actually gotten a real look at them with healthy Mitch and healthy Jalen. So that is, that is very compelling. Compelling. Now guess what, Don, it just has to happen.
Alan Hahn
But if they beat the Celtics in the second round, aren't you going to expect them to beat the Cavs? And I listen, the Cavs just had their 16 game winning streak snapped where they've lost like 11 games. I don't mean to be disrespectful to them.
Peter Rosenberg
They'll start Orlando.
Alan Hahn
Yeah, but if you beat the Celtics, isn't this, doesn't this fan base have the right to think that they can go the whole way? Wouldn't Boston be the best team they'd play beyond the first round? Like if you look at the projected teams they would face, I guess it would be what, Detroit in the first round, Possibly Boston, second round, Cleveland Conference final and whoever Lakers Thunder. Wouldn't the Celtics be the toughest test for them?
Peter Rosenberg
I don't know.
Alan Hahn
I mean, or am I being disrespectful to Cleveland?
Peter Rosenberg
I think you're being. I think Cleveland's really good, man. And Oklahoma City is really good. They've both beaten the Celtics this year.
Alan Hahn
So it's going to be hard to do it. But I just knowing this fan base the way that I do because the similar thing happened two years ago when they faced Miami. It's like, oh, we're going to be Miami. And then you didn't. So always be careful. The director of blow was Ted Demme. Died in 2002 of a heart attack induced by accidental cocaine.
Peter Rosenberg
I forgot that was Ted Demi, but that's weird, right?
Alan Hahn
But let's, let's accentuate the positives. Penelope Cruz.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, I got to give a shout out by the way.
Alan Hahn
So I'm a Hayeka Jace, I think that's fair. Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Haika Jays.
Alan Hahn
That would be in your, like, lane, right?
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, absolutely. They both. Both obviously solemn, the pinnacle of my lane, But Penelope is underrated. One of our listeners. Oh, no, no, no. Sent me such a sweet gift. You know, our big Islander fan who lives in Mississippi.
Alan Hahn
Yes.
Peter Rosenberg
She's great. She's wonderful. She's a cancer survivor. She's a huge Isles fan, and we love her. All right. Matter of fact, she's getting a follow back right now from me. She sent me and Natalie a beautiful framed photo of Rocky with a beautiful inscription on it. And it was just such a lovely and unnecessary but sweet gesture, which I then repaid her by not remembering her name on the air. But still, so, so lovely and made my day. So I can't wait to get home and show it to Natalie. It's so thoughtful and very thoughtful.
Alan Hahn
We've got great listeners.
Peter Rosenberg
We really do. We got some lovely, lovely people. Let's go to. Let's go to Ty in the Bronx. Hey, Ty.
Ryan Reynolds
What's up, guys? Did you ask Nat about the prom?
Peter Rosenberg
I told her that I talked to a guy who said he was in the same limo on prom night, but I didn't remember your name.
Ryan Reynolds
Oh, my God.
Peter Rosenberg
All right, all right. Well, listen, what do you think she's supposed to say, though? What is she. What is she going to say? Will she remember you for sure?
Ryan Reynolds
Oh, yeah, for sure. We had a good time. We had the best limo, man. I. Limo. My uncle had a limo company, so we hooked it up. We had, like, a navigator. We were, like, going nuts. We were like. We would. We were like this, like the kings and queens out there. We were losing our mind.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm texting her right now about it, though, but go ahead. What else you got for us?
Ryan Reynolds
Tell her, Todd. Tell her, Todd. Listen, St. John's St. John's is. Is what I want the Knicks to be. They pick up full court. They're, like, tough. They're gritty.
Alan Hahn
When.
Ryan Reynolds
Anytime they're in the rut. That kid Richmond, he just, like, controls them. Like, they don't panic. Let me tell you something. Talik Brown left, Frag City, Shout Out. He's their coach. I went to St. John's Prep because of that guy, man. They're gonna win. They're gonna win. I don't want to say they don't win at all because I don't want to jinx it, but we got a shot, man. This is a. This is a tough team. They pick up full court. They just can't shoot threes, but RJ Lewis is the man and I'm hoping that he might just get hot, that the threes might hurt us. But defensively, like Richard said, defense wins champions championships. And I would never let Richard be my dentist either. Peter, I feel like, I feel like he looks like Rick from Rick and Morty and I'm just scared to death. But he's the best and I and I agree defense wins championships and let's.
Alan Hahn
Go St. John's Ty, I think I got the stat right. The Michael had mentioned that I GUESS since the three, no team has ever won the NCAA tournament shooting under 30% from three. So they would try to be Bucket Trenton. But what do you do when you can't score, Peter? You play the kind of defense that they play. But I do think it's going to hurt them. The inexperience going to hurt them. Foul shooting and the fact they get off the slow starts, they get off the great starts in the second half and they do a lot of damage in the second half but be careful, they go to that well too often and then all of a sudden it's not there. So we'll see.
Peter Rosenberg
Natalie's very amused that I said Ty is on the phone and says he was in the limo with you. And first she said don't ask him what I was wearing. And then she waits and says okay, fine, you can ask him what I was wearing. Lol. What I'm guessing is based on photos I've seen of Natalie from this era, what she was wearing was basically non existent would be my guess.
Alan Hahn
Mean, not a lot.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, right. Oh yeah.
Alan Hahn
No wonder he had such a great time in the limo.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, hold on.
Alan Hahn
Well, I'm not saying anything happened, I'm just saying.
Peter Rosenberg
What do you mean?
Alan Hahn
Beautiful woman, half dressed? I mean I probably probably remember that too.
Peter Rosenberg
I mean, listen, it's prom, you know, the girls are going to show out. You remember what it was like?
Alan Hahn
You're the one that said very little. Well, not showing out, it was like showing off. It sounded like good for her.
Peter Rosenberg
1-800-919-3776 maybe you also went to prom with my wife. I don't know.
Alan Hahn
What were you wearing?
Peter Rosenberg
Let's go to Ken in Orange County. Hey Ken.
Ryan Reynolds
Hey, Peter Dunn. Happy March. I know it's the middle of the month, but I feel it's like the only appropriate time to say this again. So. I love the St. John story, but to be honest, this go around I'm really tapped in with the women's tournament been following probably closely for the past four or five years. I am there's for a number of reasons. One, the numbers are up. Yeah, the, you know, the advertising dollars are up. I feel like they're a lot more there. Some notable storylines obviously big names, Paige Beckers juju Dawn Staley trying to get her second, you know, in a row.
Alan Hahn
But I find that, you know, you.
Ryan Reynolds
Know, the couple regions like the region with USC and Connecticut, that's going to be a tough one. USC beat Connecticut. Anyone who's thinking that Connecticut is a surefire bet to come out of that region, I don't know. Paige is looking okay. I think Geno's maybe trying to, you know, catch lightning a bottle one last go before she she graduates. But I am really tapped in. I feel women's brackets, I think it's going to be dope. But yeah, Happy Marsh Madness, y'all.
Peter Rosenberg
By the way, I think that's a thanks for the call, buddy. I think that is going to be a common thread that we hear. I do think this year you're going to hear more about the women's bracket than you have maybe in any other year previous, except for maybe last year. But I really do think that between all the conversation around Paige Beckers juju flauge, there are a lot of big stars in this tournament. Of course it kicks off on Friday And I think UConn is in action on Saturday, I believe. But I'm sure we'll be getting calls from Griffin in Connecticut. But listen, I hope it's something that.
Alan Hahn
Comes up team and fairly Dickinson, I believe, making it for the first time ever. They're a 15 seed in the in Birmingham. So that's where they are. And where is UConn? Princeton also made it in the first four. So a little local flavor for sure.
Peter Rosenberg
By the way, Maryland a four seed in both, in case you're wondering. 1-800-919-3776 got a few more calls to close things out. Peter and Don Allen, of course, at the Garden. Don, do you have more to talk to me about?

Ryan Reynolds
Oh.
Alan Hahn
Oh, everybody. I had this for Alan. I had this question for Al.
Peter Rosenberg
That is true.
Alan Hahn
And it irritated me. Unfortunately, Tessa caught it.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, a lot of people.
Don LaGreca
Did you go off on test?
Peter Rosenberg
A lot of people who wanted to talk to you who didn't realize the reason they hadn't talked to you is because you didn't feel like answering their phone calls. That was the irony of the whole Wrong.
Don LaGreca
First of all, how dare you. Phone calls were there when I left. Not many. If I. If I.
Peter Rosenberg
Are you kidding me? It was completely jammed when you left. And by the way, you also. You missed Don say, when I left, you were.
Don LaGreca
You were talking about you had your beef with Evan Cohen when I left.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, yeah. But then a lot of things happened since then. That was 40 minutes ago. It's been a lifetime.
Alan Hahn
Don said this Dr. Occupinti is my dentist.
Peter Rosenberg
So, I mean, a lot of things have happened.
Alan Hahn
Yeah.
Don LaGreca
Now, are you willing to change dentists just to have Richard work on your mouth?
Alan Hahn
Well, the reason I brought it up was that if I lived close to his office, I would make the switch.
Ryan Reynolds
Oh, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't think I would.
Don LaGreca
He's in Manhattan, right? I mean, what's the difference? You work at. In Manhattan. Couldn't you just get a little cleaning before the show?
Peter Rosenberg
It's a great point.
Don LaGreca
A little parking spot.
Peter Rosenberg
It's a great point.
Alan Hahn
Listen, Dr. Occupanti does a tremendous job, so I'm not in the market for a new dentist, but if I were.
Don LaGreca
But if you were.
Peter Rosenberg
If you were leaving Occupinti, you'd consider going to Richard?
Alan Hahn
Yes.
Don LaGreca
You wouldn't find it uncomfortable that the entire time Richard would be giving you facts and asking you questions that he wouldn't listen to your answer? Like, the whole time he's either. Well, actually, I don't think he's the one cleaning. Right. There's. There's usually the. The assistant does the cleaning, I would think. Does the checkup after the fact.
Peter Rosenberg
I just. I don't, as much as I'm fond.
Don LaGreca
Never get out of there, Don.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't know if I never get out of there. I don't know I feel about it.
Alan Hahn
Well, listen, I'm. I'm all in.
Don LaGreca
Do people realize that he told us the story and he said it with a straight face, that how he does it is he calls the show, puts us on speaker.
Alan Hahn
Yes.
Don LaGreca
And if we call to him.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, I'll just say. Excuse me one sec.
Don LaGreca
Yeah. While he's dealing with a patient, he will Tell them, excuse me, I'll give.
Peter Rosenberg
Him water and I'll say, here, rinse out.
Don LaGreca
We don't. We find that to just be a very normal behavior by a dentist who.
Peter Rosenberg
Stays on hold for sports talk radio literally all day long, the whole day. He's an unusual man.
Don LaGreca
Yeah. Now I'm gonna have questions about my dentist. Like, if he steps away. Excuse me, I gotta step away. What are you listening to?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, what are you doing in there?
Don LaGreca
Like, what are you doing in there? What's so important?
Alan Hahn
He could be doing drugs. I'd rather have him listening to sports radio.
Peter Rosenberg
Right, that's a good point.
Don LaGreca
Which is a drug on it to itself. We all know this.
Peter Rosenberg
True.
Don LaGreca
I need to take Lang in Connecticut right here. Lang, Lang. We need to discuss this.
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah, guys. Gosh, you know, I can't think of a time with the Knicks in the last 25 plus years where something has ate away at me to the point where it's becoming an extent existential crisis.
Don LaGreca
You know, when you say 25 years, Lang, there's a lot of things I could probably point to you that I couldn't sleep at night.
Ryan Reynolds
But, Alan, this, this, you're telling me.
Don LaGreca
That that's bigger than all this?
Ryan Reynolds
Because it's traced to life and death. And there's very few things in sports.
Peter Rosenberg
True.
Ryan Reynolds
That come close to life and death. Carl Anthony Towns was out mourning the death of a loved one. I don't care if it was his aunt or his girlfriend or his wife's friend. It was someone special to him. Right. And this team did not stick up for him. And I hope they've heard this noise because not only have they embarrassed themselves, they've embarrassed their fans. I'm at a point where I don't really care if I watch the next game, and I watch every single game. I schedule my personal affairs around the Knicks. But I'm at a point now where if this team can't stand up for themselves and pick themselves up and fight for each other, then why am I fighting for them? So I'm just. I'm just discussing with the Knicks. I think this team lacks mental toughness. I said it three months ago, and here we are three months later. And we had some good pieces last year. Dante, even Trenzo sorely missed. And I hope we can make some changes in the off season. And I. And I hope next year we'll have someone on this team that can put Draymond Green on the floor.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't hate this call, actually.
Don LaGreca
No, I. I don't.
Peter Rosenberg
I like It.
Alan Hahn
I. I don't think he should cut off his nose, despite his face. He's been a fan for that long. He shouldn't just give up on him for this. But I can understand you're being upset. That's why we talked about it as much as we have today, because I do think it's a thing.
Don LaGreca
I. Well, again, I said that too, Jake, because I pushed back on some moments that I could definitely recall, like, you know, having the worst record in the league and not winning the lottery when Zion Williamson was the prize. Like, seriously.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, that's not your fault. This was. This was in their control.
Don LaGreca
There's. Okay, all right. That. That, I guess, is fair. I'm not gonna waste the last two minutes going chapter and verse on things that were.
Peter Rosenberg
On other bad things.
Don LaGreca
Way more painful if you're a fan. But I will say, though, the way Lang explained it when he talked about the level of the disrespect, which included mourning the loss of a loved one, guys, I don't need to tell you that. That I've kind of gone through that a little bit here too much over the last couple of months. Right. I know how personal that was for me, and God help anybody if they would have questioned. Well, you know, I heard he missed the show because, you know, that some other reason. No one would ever mourning the loss of somebody.
Peter Rosenberg
No one ever do that unless it was Michael K. To me, every time I missed the show.
Alan Hahn
That is true. So we know. Personal experience.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, I know Michael has been my Draymond before, but.
Don LaGreca
Well. But still. But the way he. The way he kind of phrased it, I can see why. If fan would feel a certain way, as if to say, like. Like he did that. And nobody thought that was wrong.
Alan Hahn
Nobody thought.
Don LaGreca
That's what makes me. I'm going conspiracy theory. Like, I keep going, like, is there something else going on that I'm. I'm missing?
Alan Hahn
But.
Peter Rosenberg
But you're crazy. There's no conspiracy that makes sense.
Don LaGreca
No, no, it doesn't.
Ryan Reynolds
But.
Peter Rosenberg
But. But also. But this doesn't make sense either. I know. I know.
Alan Hahn
The only way it makes sense, guys, is that it just never occurred to him because they're. It's just not a thing. And that's the problem. That's the problem is that they didn't realize that that was an opportunity to stick up for a teammate. It's a shame, but that's the way it looks. And. And to. To his point, as far as how it hurts, it's one thing for your team to stink, not be good. Is there anything worse than being called.
Peter Rosenberg
Soft scared before guys, before we get out. By the way, I want to. I said her name wrong and she's so wonderful. Shout out to Felicia from Mississippi. Appreciate you so much. Not going to get Felicia called. Yeah, no, Felicia sent a gift, a condolences gift to me and Natalie, which was so sweet. And, and to Ed who's calling from Westchester about his pooch who passed away. I'm sorry we're not going to make it to you, buddy. But thank you for calling. Reaching out.
Don LaGreca
Yeah, no, no, call tomorrow. That's the best thing about the show is we're here every day.
Peter Rosenberg
Every day.
Don LaGreca
That's the part you love. So Ed knows that he can be the be a caller tomorrow and certainly can be part of that. I got the Knicks here. So it's Knicks in the Heat. It's the one home game in like a, a three week span, but this is what it is. We'll see how they respond after a tough road trip and we'll see how the crowd reacts to Carl Anthony Towns and everyone else. Guys, have a great week. Talk to you next week.
Alan Hahn
Thanks for listening to the Don Hahn and Rosenberg podcast.

Don, Hahn & Rosenberg – Episode: Hour 4: Spilling the Tea
Release Date: March 17, 2025
Timestamp: 01:38 – 03:58
The episode kicks off with a heated discussion surrounding an incident involving co-host Peter Rosenberg and the show's makeup artist, Laura Valentine. The controversy stems from Peter allegedly asking Laura, who was sporting a hand cast, to fetch him tea during a live segment.
Alan Hahn: "Peter asked her to go get him tea, and she had to hold it with the hand that has the cast." (02:02)
Don LaGreca: "Laura Valentine has a broken wrist. And according to the way Evan describes it, you were sending her out to get you tea." (02:33)
Peter defends his actions, explaining that he was unaware of Laura's injury and that the request was made out of necessity rather than disregard.
Timestamp: 03:58 – 10:23
The hosts delve deeper into the incident to ascertain responsibility. Alan and Don challenge Peter's recollection, suggesting that his request was inconsiderate given Laura's injury. A mock trial ensues, with Alan Hahn playfully declaring someone else as the villain in the situation.
Alan Hahn: "And the bad guy is Chris Canty." (08:16)
Don LaGreca: "We introduced you to Laura. She's a team player." (04:40)
Peter maintains his stance, emphasizing the positive interactions he had with Laura prior to the incident.
The debate highlights differing perspectives on workplace interactions and the importance of awareness and empathy.
Timestamp: 10:23 – 22:52
Shifting gears, the conversation moves towards sports, focusing on the NCAA tournament and the New York Knicks' recent performance.
