Tony’s family moved from Hong Kong to the UK, he shares hilarious tales about his fierce 5’2” mum, who ran their Chinese restaurant like a lady-boss (don't ever mess with Mama Ward!). He shares the emotional yet humorous story of his "coming out" journey, including his mother's attempt to "convert" him with a trip to Thailand—a memory he can now laugh about in hindsight. He also reflects on how having a strong mother shaped him but left him struggling to express his emotions openly. As a mum myself, this conversation was eye-opening, filled with valuable insights and lessons. We also look back on our drum and bass days—Tony is partly to blame for my dodgy knees after countless late-night dance marathons.
