Platinum Mike Perry
You know, maybe me and Conor will be fighting at some point.
Mystic Zach
He said you were fired.
Platinum Mike Perry
We could do mma. Yeah, and everybody wants to jump on every joke. He's funny sometimes. I'm gonna fight again for some more money. I don't care who it is, what I say at the end of my post fight speech. Anybody, anywhere, anytime. We're here to fight, ready to flex.

Mystic Zach
Mystic Zach here. Welcome Back to episode 20 of Double Coverage.
Mystic Zack (Host)
Today I'm honored to be joined by
Mystic Zach
Platinum Mike Perry, fresh off his biggest win ever over Nate Diaz at MVP mma. I was there, bro. Okay? I was there.
Mystic Zack (Host)
I saw you.
Mystic Zach
I saw him, saw you. You know, the elbows, the knees, the
Platinum Mike Perry
body shots, like hanging out in Cali.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, I do like hanging out in Cali.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, I get that vibe. It was nice out there. I enjoyed myself. I had a good week. The fans were fun. You know, they. They brought the. The which hyped me up.
Mystic Zach
I had a check. I was like, relax. You know, he's a good guy. You don't need to like boo him the whole time because you love Nate Diaz.
Platinum Mike Perry
But they were doing it, got to expect it, right? I'm in the west coast fighting a West coast legend and, you know, so it's. It's all fun and it's all fair and love and war. You know what I'm saying? So we battled it out. I don't know if people are serious about a rematch. I beat him up for two rounds. Maybe he would train harder. Maybe he didn't train. People said he was in crazy shape. I don't care, man. I got to get back to the gym. You know, we made some money, but now I'm going to have another more dangerous opportunity that I got to stay ready for.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, you were in great shape.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah.
Mystic Zach
Return to 170 who are ripped up.
Platinum Mike Perry
It's a lot of work. It's a ton of work to get up consistently every day. And it's not just like the training. The training is a fun part of it, but then it's after training, you're so beat up, your body crumbles after day in and day out and. Or like when you take a rest. I took a rest after the fight, and then I've gone back to the gym a couple times. I hit the track yesterday, and I put in great work. I was killing my times. But then, like, today, walking around has been kind of rough, you know what I'm saying? So I got a. A big part of the training camps is, like, you're working recovery on your body, constantly hitting ice baths, doing stretches, and, like, getting PT done, stuff like that.
Mystic Zach
How does it compare now for you, getting ready for a fight or even just normal day life compared to when you were first coming up, when we first got introduced to you?
Platinum Mike Perry
That's, you know, I don't really know. I. I just feel like I'm. I'm smarter at how I choose my training now, but I always try to keep that recklessness of that I had when I was young, where, you know, don't let no one try. You keep myself healthy. That's a big part of fighting is. Is dieting outside of camp and, you know, continuing to work out my coaches. Good motivation for that. All the fighters here in Central Florida, these guys are at the gym day in and day out, and I definitely like to take my rests.
Mystic Zach
You were telling me before we started the show, I don't hang out, I train. Yeah, that's your life.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, because he, you know, he was like, yo, we'll connect you with Ric Flair. And this. I'm like, I. You know, I don't want to. I don't. I'm not the guy to meet famous people. Don't they say, don't meet your heroes and stuff? I'm not saying Ric Flair is my hero. He did some cool stuff. Yeah, he had some good moments, some great moments, even. And he's that guy, but he's, you know, he's well past his prime. He's still out here living. And, you know, I just. I got a lot of work to do. You know, I want to be jet flying and limousine dealing. Limousine riding, yeah. You know what I'm saying? A little more often. So, you know, that's. There's business goals.
Mystic Zach
No, for sure. And it feels like you're hitting a peak 10 years into your career where you have that aggression, but you're also measured in your approach. You weren't, you know, soup reckless to the point you're putting yourself in danger. You were calculated when you were going against Nate.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, I was. I was trying to prepare. I think there was some, you know, there's definitely some bigger challenges, especially even knowing what I'm doing next. Is it going to be MMA Is it going to be bare knuckle boxing? You know, I need to figure out what I'll be doing and train for that. But also martial arts can, can be a lifestyle and, you know, teach you how to be prepared for any situation. So, you know, I try to stay working out, keep myself healthy, work on the recovery and stay prepared for the challenge that comes, whether it's bare knuckle or mma. You know, there were some things Nate wasn't going to do to me in a fight, like shoot a double leg if I'm going to fight a famous, maybe Russian MMA fighter or, you know, or if it's bare knuckle boxing, you know, the punching. I seem to have a. Developed quite a bit of my striking there. I felt very dangerous looking at the exchanges. Nate was still. Because he's savvy, right. He could take a shot and he's kind of cool with it and then he'll throw some stuff, but it's like, okay, if it hits me, but I'm not worried about it, then, you know, how bad am I really doing? Just because you see me get hit a little bit. That's the game.
Mystic Zach
No. Yeah, you've developed that style through, I guess, just striking only in the bare knuckle scene.
Platinum Mike Perry
Right, right. For the last five years or so I've been at bare knuckle. And now Darren Till made his way over there. He didn't exactly call for me after the fight.
Mystic Zach
No, that was weird.
Platinum Mike Perry
He. Well, you know, after his fight, I think there was a difference in my debut as far as opponent wise. Maybe his opponent did have some experience, so I can't knock him there. And he took the shot, went down to a knee. You know, you make a mistake, it's not about how many times you get knocked down, it's about how many times you get back up. He got back up, finished the guy off second round. So, you know, Darren's a tough fight. It's a bigger weight class. You know, I just fought at 170 and it, it felt like I was the best in the world at 170, if we're talking going to 185. It's a much different thing when a guy is cutting from 215 and goes to 85 and I'm going from 185 and I got a wet and I, that's what I, that's how big I am. So it's like, you know, I'm giving up advantages and things like that. It just needs to make sense for me to make A to. To take a challenge and when I say make sense, I mean makes hundreds of millions of dollars. Why not the millions? You know, makes lots of millions or something. So I accept challenges. That's what I do. I'm a prize fighter. I fight for money no matter what. Anyone want to say on the comments anywhere? You know, overly people, like, overall, people have been great and I've just been trying to stay humble because I know I got to go back to working out all the time to stay ahead of the curve.
Mystic Zach
It's a great mindset. And that's what's always separated the best of the best, you know, is the guys who are constantly putting in that work week in and week out. Like, even Mayweather, he has that reputation of, oh, I eat pizza, I drink soda. Not really. He's running 10 miles when he's not in camp. You know, he still puts that work in.
Platinum Mike Perry
He's a trip to watch. I like Mayweather stuff. The fact that his, he's like throwing crazy combinations and he's just doing this and his padman is like, yeah, working on him and he's just like chilling. I know, it's. It's a sick amount of talent that he's got.
Mystic Zach
He's got a sick amount of talent. He knows how to make everything as interesting as possible with the All Access and the Showtime show, you know, he plays it up.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, you know, I've played some things. I felt like people, people missed or didn't really, didn't really give me the call outs on like at the press conference. And I told those two guys to shut up with their stupid argument so the, the, you know, the press could ask us more questions because we let y' all argue about not texting each other for a little while now, so, you know that there was a chance for some algorithm swings there. You know what I mean? So some people get the push, some people don't. You just have to keep working.
Mystic Zach
It's the same thing in my field. Like, you have that episode, you think it's gonna hit and it's gonna be everywhere. But sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes something will surprise you. Like, that's what everyone caught on to
Platinum Mike Perry
when I said that, what do we gotta do to make the difference? You know, that's what probably entrepreneurs and hustlers are constantly thinking that men around the world are thinking that all day. Like, what do I gotta do? How do I gotta do it if we already figured out so much and there's just so much more to figure out. Little, little things man, just. That's why I be on. On social media, because I see those little investment videos or like, you know, how to run the trust or. Or set up, like, set up your monies and your corporations and this and that. Like, I'm constantly trying to figure this out and always leads back to constantly trying to figure it out. Like, just don't seem to get it all the time.
Mystic Zach
It's one big loop.
Platinum Mike Perry
It's just. What do they call. Yeah, loop. That's what. When you get caught in a loop. Yeah, it's tough. It's been a while and happened to anyone.
Mystic Zach
Happened to me a few times.
Mystic Zack (Host)

Mystic Zach
How has life changed? Post Nate Diaz? Are you getting bigger offers, more offers? Do you feel like you've earned another level of respect? Has it motivated you more and more in the gym? How has life changed?
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, life has changed in the fact that, you know, it's where I'm a little confused at. It's where I'm like, right now we're taking this successful moment in a bit of a victory lap to where I feel I earned it, so I'll enjoy it. But I'm chilling and I'm like, where are the calls? I mean, you know, I should maybe keep myself out there and exposed because I did such a good job leading up and I should build off of that. But at the same time, sometimes you strain yourself constantly trying to say the right thing and do the right thing and be right. And so it's like I've kind of been out of the space for a bit. I kind of took a step back, kind of hid myself. I felt like that's where real success is, where you can disappear. And I have not been able to do that. For so long I've kept myself in any algorithms I could. Now, now I have fun doing it and you know, interacting with some people in certain ways. But then other times it feels like, you know, I'm just working and I don't know where it's leading me. So maybe I take a step back and see what my options are. There's no check like that, fight check. But I know that streamers ain't feeling that way. There's some of these guys like that, you know. But also I'm big time dad, you know, I got a lot of dad duties and stuff and that's not something that needs to be streamed anywhere. So it's not a reality show. And, you know, I just got to get back to the fight bag at another time and build my businesses on the outside slowly, continuously, consistently. And I think then I'll find a better rhythm.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, you got your own promotion, right? Dirty Boxing.
Platinum Mike Perry
Dirty Boxing Championships. We're a top dog in combat sports. People love tuning in. We've put some great fights together, our matchmakers and our team. The production is top of the line and we're very excited to bring people more. It's just a real, is a lot going on in business right now, in the markets and the way everything is moving and who's putting money where and making investments. So there's just a matter of time.
Mystic Zach
You know, I've been to a couple, it's a great time and yeah, yeah, I really enjoyed it. And how involved are you in the promotionality boxing? Are you in these meetings week to week and leading up to it?
Platinum Mike Perry
You know, they got to get me back in there for sure. I was in a lot in the early stages before the first four. We had weekly meetings more often and you know, then there, there came the time for me to represent outside of the promotion itself and, and focus on my abilities as whatever you want to call it. I'm Platinum Mike Perry, bro, and I people, I'm happy that people put some respect on my name, dog.
Mystic Zach
Big time fight coming up. A guy that you've exchanged words with and I think you would love to fight. Conor McGregor taking on Max Holloway at 170lbs coming up in July. What do you think about that matchup?
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, of course, it's a great matchup. MMA math is weird when it comes to matchups and like, who beat who? Like there's people that I've beat that beat someone that I couldn't even possibly fight, that was just too big or, you know, ahead of me or, you Know, I've, I've caught myself up to be in a position, you know, Paul Acosta's talking about, you know, his options and, and fighting me was one of his favorite options, if he could possibly get it, whether it's MVP MMA or it' bare knuckle. I like Paulo. He's a, he's a hustler and he's always making noise. So, you know, he's huge. Yeah. Yeah. But, you know, when, when you meet at a weight, you know, that's what I'm saying is like 170. I should be fighting for a world title at that weight. I didn't even know I could make that weight anymore, and I did. It was five or six years before since I've made 170. And I made it against Nate perfectly. And I just felt like a champion at that. And, you know, anybody can say what they want. I got valid credentials and, you know, there was no belt. But the last fight against Nate, you know, he made me believe that he was prepared for it. He said his. His self now could beat his younger self. And, you know, the younger Nate Diaz was a guy that, you know, he beat prime Conor McGregor, and McGregor was that guy. And Conor back then had beat Max Holloway. And Max Holloway has changed. Like the game, the MMA math is crazy. And the, the Holloway we saw beat Justin Gaethje, who's about to fight Ilia Toporia at the White House250. Like that. Max Holloway was insane. And then he goes down to 145. We see the, the greatest performance at 155 from max with his Hawaiian shorts. And he goes down again to 145. Look like a skeleton gets knocked out by Ilia, then comes up to 55 and Charles Oliveira backpacks him. And he still gets the opportunity fighting Connor. And I think it's a really good fight, I think, but I do. But here's the thing. Connor's a more natural 170 now, where that's going to be a good weight class for him. He's had fights there. Max has Never fought at 170. I think Max might be too small and too weak to face Connor here. Speed isn't just going to do everything. Even though Conor's big on not getting hit, he moves well, he throws power punches and he gets. Gets out of the line of fire. But, you know, Max's speed. I don't know if, you know, I guess it's just a setup for a Conor big return. And then, you know, maybe me and Conor will Be fighting at some point. He talked.
Mystic Zach
He did. He said you were fired, we could do mma. Yeah.
Platinum Mike Perry
And everybody wants to jump on every joke, Says he's funny sometimes and he's actually cool. Like I talked to him a little bit on the side and sometimes it's like a little bipolar. Like I don't know if he's, or if we're being nice to each other, but you know, it's all good, man. I'm gonna fight again for some more money. I don't care who it is, what I say at the end of my post fight speech. And in mvp, mma, I said, anybody, anywhere, anytime, we're here to fight.
Mystic Zach
Let's go. At the end of the day when he makes jokes, it just promotes you and your name, Right? Anytime that guy says your name, it gets tens of millions of views. Right?
Platinum Mike Perry
So I guess so, right?
Mystic Zach
More money in your pocket.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, well, keep talking about me. I need to monetize it better. And you know, actually my boxing coach hit me up. We gotta, we gotta connect. Actually, my boxing coach, because we talked about, you know, he's, he's smart guy, my boxing coach, he thinks outside the box and I got to connect my, my YouTube and my views so I can start, you know, getting off of clips. Yeah, getting off my own clips.
Mystic Zach
No, I got, I don't even get
Platinum Mike Perry
paid off my clips. I got to start trying.
Mystic Zach
I got a, I got a 19 year old who specializes in all that.
Platinum Mike Perry
I gotta maybe make some investments, pay some people to clip me. So then I start popping up like Neon or, or Clav or some of them other guys.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, Neon, you know, this. Hit Mike up, you know, set him up on a Discord server or something.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, yeah, I don't mind, man. So show me the ropes.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, get them, get them, get them activated.
Platinum Mike Perry
Let's go.
Mystic Zach
Would you stream or you're just too busy in your fight camp to.
Platinum Mike Perry
No, it's fighting family. It's family and fighting, you know, and I think there's a lot of that there, you know, Rampage is killing it right now. We're all proud of him and he's doing great. And I think he's reeled himself in a bit from the wildness that he maybe started as. He's a much more like built bigger entity in his streaming where it's like he's got two little doppelgangers just kind of riding his coattails with Dean and ab. Ab's being a little. Yeah, but he's just having fun and he don't care what I say, or anybody else. So, you know, if I did it, sometimes you shouldn't wait. Sometimes you should take a chance. But sometimes, what's the point if you worked so much already and you can't just wait? Darren kind of did that. I was in bare knuckle fighting for five years and he had like two fights. He fought Rocco like a while after I beat him, after Rockhold got beat by somebody else or something. And you know, you kind of sit on outside. I haven't sat out of the fight game for the past 10 years. I've been in the fight game fighting. So there hasn't been a year off or. And even our time in between fights, we're training, so it's a tough bout.
Mystic Zach
Rampage somehow is like as good of a streamer as he was a fighter. He was a world champion fighter.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, yeah. No, he's a beast, man. And his world championship attitude has really, like, translated into his streaming and he's just out there having fun. You know, if I could find a way for me and my wife to go out and stream that. But I don't, I also don't want to stream us. I don't want to do that either.
Mystic Zach
Yeah. And also these guys have, like coming up to them, trying to start trouble. You're the bad guy.
Platinum Mike Perry
Rampage is bigger and he's older and wiser. He's more used to it. So, you know me, I don't even have as many followers as Rampage. So, you know, when people come up to me sometimes, especially if I'm. I want to. So, like, I'll. We'll go viral, but then I'm going to get in trouble. It's going to cost me money. I don't want to do that.
Mystic Zach
No, no, not at this point.
Platinum Mike Perry
I don't know what the plan is. You know what I'm saying? Like, I've been trying to build it. I don't even know what I'm building.
Mystic Zach
Get there. As long as you keep winning like that and performing like that, you'll get there.
Platinum Mike Perry
Fighting.
Mystic Zach
If you look so good at 170
Platinum Mike Perry
playing a fight, let me know.
Mystic Zach
And I agree, 170 is your weight class.
Platinum Mike Perry
Let me know. You know? Yeah, I fought bare knuckle at 175 and two fights at 185. And then I fought Jake at 200. That was a big.
Mystic Zach
That was, that was, that was a stretch.
Platinum Mike Perry
It was tough for me. But like, you know, I think about that because going to 170, you know, I told Jake, like, if we did an MMA Fight. If he made the weight class 200 again, I'm not going to try to go up to 200. I'm going to be a lean, you know, 180, 185, maybe, and move faster. Move better be. Because when I cut that 170, it's like the energy that I have is insane. When I make that weight and then I get to eat a little bit and to put weight on over 24 hours, it's like insane energy. Unstoppable. It feels like so, you know, to feel like that going into a fight. Jake could be bigger. I think he's crazy calling out Francis, but what do I know? What do I know? Dude, we just got to take the challenge.
Mystic Zach
It looks crazy when they're, like, next to each other and Francis is so big.
Platinum Mike Perry
I don't know. Maybe Jake knows something we don't.
Mystic Zach
I think he felt really good about the Joshua performance. The fact that he was able to go six rounds on short notice and went around and.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, went around.
Mystic Zach
I gave him the fourth round.
Platinum Mike Perry
Okay. No, that's tough, man. I wouldn't. Maybe I would. 90 million.
Mystic Zach
90 million, right?
Platinum Mike Perry
I mean, I would try. And all you gotta do is try to last longer. You can run away. You know you're gonna run.
Mystic Zach
He didn't fight like how you fight. He was. Well, he was on the back foot, evading.
Platinum Mike Perry
I don't know if I could fight like he tried.
Mystic Zach
I've never seen you fight like that. That would be.
Platinum Mike Perry
I can't run away.
Mystic Zach
You're always going right at people. That's very different.
Platinum Mike Perry
It's the game plan.
Mystic Zach
That is the game plan. That's why bare knuckles. So perfect.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah. So what. What other athletes do you guys talk to on here? What do you do? You got the LSU football helmet over there.
Mystic Zach
Oh, that was already here.
Platinum Mike Perry
Oh, this is just.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, we just. They were like, Mike. Mike retirement manager. Like, Mike Perry. Orlando. I googled Orlando studio and I found the spot. But we do NFL. We've interviewed plethora of hall of Famers with Lamar Odom on the basketball side. Okay. You know, I love fighting. That's where I grew up in. So we got, you know, boxing, mma. We did Jake Paul at his camp in Puerto Rico.
Platinum Mike Perry
Okay.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, I guess it's cool. Life out there, it's chill. It's all fighting camp. Like, there's no distractions.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah. You got to do it at a different level. I like to be able to go outside and.
Mystic Zach
Mm, Not a lot of that there.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah. I feel like they're stuck on their property.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, they're stuck on the property.
Platinum Mike Perry
They're going out with security.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, they for sure are if they ever go out, but they're kind of stuck at their place.
Platinum Mike Perry
You got to learn how to move differently.
Mystic Zach
Yeah. It's a different lifestyle.
Platinum Mike Perry
Okay. To. To be a celebrity and go in somewhere and thousands of people come crowding the grocery store. Oh, my gosh, this person's here. They do that for something. Michael Jackson, speed. But they're in other countries when this stuff is happening. They're in other countries and people go, oh, my God. And then thousands of people are coming down the street. I don't know how you handle those situations.
Mystic Zach
I don't know. And Jake hit a whole new level when he fought Mike. Like before, it was manageable, and then he fought Mike and now it's just unbearable.
Platinum Mike Perry
Wow.
Mystic Zach
Is you. You sparred Jake and you came to the gym in 2021 and it was like he was there, but it wasn't like now where it's just like, he
Platinum Mike Perry
definitely made some strides and. And changed now.
Mystic Zach
Like, grandmas know him.
Platinum Mike Perry
Made some developments. Yeah, I. It's hard to believe people sometimes who they know or who they don't. If they. Some people don't watch anything on TV or social media. They don't know. There's certain names you ask, like, oh, do you know? I guess you would say, oh, do you know who? But like, I don't know him, so I'm not going to throw that name around. Or like, I'll be like, oh, do you know Conor McGregor? Usually everybody knows Conor, but I've had a couple people be like, oh, who's that? Really? I'd be like, you lying?
Mystic Zack (Host)
They're lying. I think.
Mystic Zach
I think people like to seem like they're cool. Like, you get especially sorry sometimes. Girls are like, I don't know who that is. Like, you know who that is.
Platinum Mike Perry
Oh, you know. Yeah, right.
Mystic Zach
He probably DMed you that dude out
Platinum Mike Perry
here in Orlando especially. But in Orlando, I'm different.
Mystic Zack (Host)
I don't know.
Platinum Mike Perry
Oh, really? Wow, that's so cool. Come check this out.
Mystic Zach
Yeah. If you don't know Conor McGregor, I'll date you. Like, that's not how it works. Like, just admit you're a fan. You know, you don't need to play.
Platinum Mike Perry
Oh, man.
Mystic Zach
Who's Drake? Like, no one's believing that.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, yeah.
Mystic Zach
Not believable. But Conor, yeah, he transcended it.
Platinum Mike Perry
He said, how did they do it? How did they get. Apparently, like, when Conor's tickets go up for sale. They're like sold out. The whole arena instantly, boom. And the prices were high, huge. And, you know, tons of Irish people are gonna be there. Like, the whole country of Ireland just jumps on planes and flies to Vegas and turns up for a Conor McGregor.
Mystic Zach
He doesn't want to fight. In six and a half years, it doesn't matter. They're still going to turn up.
Platinum Mike Perry
That's insane. That's wild.
Mystic Zach
Yeah. The cheapest seats, like five grand to sit at the very top.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah. You know, like, that made me want to just. You know what? I got some money for a fight. Why don't I just go disappear? Why don't I just get off being in the algorithm? Just forget it and I'll get another fight. You know, whatever. I'll just. I'll fight, but then I won't be loud. In the build up to the fight, I mean, me and Nate weren't.
Mystic Zach
No, it's.
Platinum Mike Perry
So it was hard. I was trying, but, like, there was no. I didn't say, like, oh, he probably would have left like that. I don't gotta stay for that. So it was like we didn't really. So then when them other guys were talking. Oh, shut up.
Mystic Zach
That was funny.
Platinum Mike Perry
And then we finally started arguing a little bit, but not even Nate. I asked him, like, how do you think you're going to beat me? You know, I'm going to do this. It's not going to. So it's like, my, my. My job isn't talk. I'm not a comedian. I try sometimes, but this is faint. I'm not that good. I'm a better fighter. And if I don't got a million followers for fighting by now, I've done my best. So I got what I got. It's time to disappear.
Mystic Zach
I feel like you're hitting a new peak. I think you'll hit a million soon.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, I hope.
Mystic Zach
After this fight, I think you looked like a whole different. I'm sure you felt that way too. But it looked like how you described the energy after the weight cut or whatever it was. You just looked like a whole different animal in there. Because I saw you fight UFC Fort Lauderdale too, and you looked way better than then. And then you would think when you're a younger man, you're better, fresher, whatever. But even in your age, you look better than ever.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, I felt good in that fight. The. The Cowboy Oliveira fight.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, you look good now. You looked better in the. Nate.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, I mean, that's where it's unfortunate. It makes you think, like, oh, well, how much was Nate prepared?
Mystic Zach
Everyone said, I talked to Uriah.
Unknown Guest or Contributor
Doesn't matter.
Mystic Zach
He was in the area. He's like, he's training harder than ever. All his people say he's gonna win and whatever.
Unknown Guest or Contributor
So
Mystic Zach
he made 170.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah. All he did was put me in danger. Now I'm gonna damn go fight some world champion. And I'm either world champion material and can hurt that world champion or, you know, I built up just to have a setback. But those don't worry me. The journey itself is a great reward and that's the goal. Man, just keep grinding with the fans.
Mystic Zach
Has MVP hit you up about a rematch for real?
Platinum Mike Perry
So if I get the call, it would be from my team at first round management. Those are the guys that, you know, have the power to tell me to jump and I ask how high?
Mystic Zach
I.
Platinum Mike Perry
They're very solidified and respected in all the business that they involve themselves in. So, you know, I take heed in their word and when they call me with something, then I know I have something. Otherwise, I guess I'm just chilling.
Mystic Zach
Not yet though. But it sounded so crazy in the moment. I'm like, they're going to rematch after wasn't like type of fight. You're like, oh, I want to.
Platinum Mike Perry
Well, they, they are saying, I don't know.
Mystic Zach
Because Nikisa said it too. It wasn't just Nate.
Platinum Mike Perry
They said it.
Mystic Zach
And I think Jake said it.
Platinum Mike Perry
I'm like, wait, but maybe Nate's trying to train harder now and then he wants to take me to NorCal where somebody's gonna.
Mystic Zach
Yeah, that would be his best.
Platinum Mike Perry
Like the gladiator movie where he downstairs and then he goes up on the in the arena and he still kills him. It's good. Yeah, dog, let's go.
Mystic Zach
That might be the strategy because unless he has like a new face, I just don't see how you don't the same way.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah, I mean, like, I'm thinking about how I can do that to another opponent. Like, oh, I wonder if they'll bleed the same as Nate if I hit them with some of that, you know, maybe that could be all it could be. It just he. I think he's an old school style. I think my style developed a little bit of watching early tough, which is when he was developing in UFC and we all watched it and have a bit of an old style. So there are certain things that would have changed that fight big time. Like some body kicks or head kicks by Nate or double leg takedowns. It would have changed the fight. So I know that other MMA fighters have a larger range of abilities in those areas. So I'm just thinking about all the options or where I'm gonna end up fighting or who I'm gonna end up fighting. It can be tiring. So then I try not to, but, you know, I like to try to think to get better, you have to.
Mystic Zach
And you're gonna fight nothing but dangerous guys from here on out.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah. So give me enough time to. To work out, I guess, and recover, and you're going to be in pain anyways. No pain, no gain. Old sayings, try to live by them. You know, I'm in pain. It don't matter. I got to get up and. And work
Mystic Zach
facts.
Platinum Mike Perry
Yeah. Thanks, bro.
Mystic Zach
My guy.
Platinum Mike Perry
I just. All I did was hype myself up and let y' all know to be excited for the return of Platinum Perry. For now, I'm going to disappear the
Mystic Zach
king of violence, Platinum Mike Perry, tune
Mystic Zack (Host)
into his next fight.
Mystic Zach
Where it'll be, we don't know yet, but it'll probably be someone really dangerous.
Platinum Mike Perry
Let's go.

“It's a ton of work to get up consistently every day. And it's not just like the training. The training is a fun part of it, but then it's after training, you're so beat up, your body crumbles after day in and day out…”
— Mike Perry (01:53)
On Chasing the Money and the Challenge
“I accept challenges. That's what I do. I'm a prize fighter. I fight for money no matter what. Anyone want to say on the comments anywhere? … I've just been trying to stay humble because I know I got to go back to working out all the time to stay ahead of the curve.”
— Mike Perry (06:20)
On Celebrity and Algorithms
“Sometimes you strain yourself constantly trying to say the right thing and do the right thing and be right. And so it's like I've kind of been out of the space for a bit. I kind of took a step back, kind of hid myself. I felt like that's where real success is, where you can disappear.”
— Mike Perry (11:26)
On Making 170 Again
“I should be fighting for a world title at that weight. I didn't even know I could make that weight anymore, and I did. It was five or six years before since I've made 170. And I made it against Nate perfectly. And I just felt like a champion at that.”
— Mike Perry (15:17)
On Transitioning Out of the Spotlight
“My job isn't talk. I'm not a comedian. I try sometimes, but this is faint. I'm not that good. I'm a better fighter. And if I don't got a million followers for fighting by now, I've done my best. So I got what I got. It's time to disappear.”
— Mike Perry (30:01)
On the Challenge of Every New Fight
“Now I'm gonna damn go fight some world champion. And I'm either world champion material and can hurt that world champion or, you know, I built up just to have a setback. But those don't worry me. The journey itself is a great reward and that's the goal. Man, just keep grinding with the fans.”
— Mike Perry (31:34)
Mike Perry comes across as both battle-hardened and introspective, clearly enjoying the fruits of his hard work but also hungry for whatever’s next so long as it’s on his terms—both financially and physically. He refuses to play the celebrity game at the expense of his own authenticity, instead choosing to focus on his craft, his family, and his entrepreneurial efforts. Whether he rematches Nate Diaz, faces Darren Till or Conor McGregor, or vanishes until the next big check, Perry’s message is clear: he’s here to fight, on his own terms, and anyone can get it.
“For now, I'm going to disappear…the king of violence, Platinum Mike Perry.” (35:30)
