Irish traditional and folk music is in a remarkably strong place right now, reaching new audiences, producing a new generation of exceptional young musicians, and enjoying fresh energy both at home and abroad.From sold-out festivals to bold new collaborations, trad is proving itself not just enduring but constantly evolving. To take the temperature of the Irish folk and trad scene right now, Bobby is joined by three musicians who’ve each helped shape its sound in very different ways: Mike Hanrahan, formerly of Stockton’s Wing Dónal O’Connor, traditional musician & co-founder and artistic director of Belfast TradFestRossa O'Snodaigh, founding member of acclaimed Irish world music band KílaEdel Fox, award-winning concertina player & experienced TV producer/director specialising in arts and cultural documentaries
