Many professionals reach a point in their careers where they feel stuck in what I call the Anxious Middle® —respected internally but largely invisible to the outside world. In this episode, I share the moment that pushed me to stop being my industry’s best-kept secret and start building a visible voice beyond the companies I worked for. I also introduce a simple method that helped transform my career, grow a global community, and open unexpected opportunities.

Hello, hello, hello, hello, top 5% collective, this is Kathleen and today I'm excited to talk a little bit about the journey. It's 2026. We're in the year of the fire horse and a year ago I took on a personal challenge which was building my own brand authority and why it's important. It's because I was kind of stuck in the anxious middle where I wanted to be able to elevate my voice, but I was still the best kept secret in the companies I worked at, which is LinkedIn, which is Google. People knew me internally and called me the legend, but where externally I was non existent. So today I want to tell everyone and announce that I'm almost at 100,000 people community, which is totally crazy. Most of it is LinkedIn and my newsletter and the podcast. So it's something that's super important. And I want to talk about a little bit about one of the master classes I ran about this. So if you want to attend the bootcamp and stop being your industry's best kept secret, well, follow us. The podcast here on Spotify, on Apple. Stay connected because I'm always announcing the bootcamps and the masterclasses. The masterclasses are mostly free and then you can also decide how you're going to develop your own journey of being a thought leader. To be able to build a brand and create options sometimes outside of your company, sometimes it's for your company, and sometimes it's outside of your company for your company and ultimately for yourself. I did LinkedIn for three years, but it's only after I left that I grew 10 times faster, which is crazy. When I started LinkedIn, I had 3,300 followers. And then now I'm getting close to 37,000 followers. But the beauty of it all is in the past eight months, I started posting consistently. And that's when I 5x my growth. And it's not even about the numbers of likes or comments. No, it's about the brand deals, it's about the collaborations. It's about the opportunity of traveling the world, being paid to speak in Europe, in Canada, where I'm from, in the US and also I went to Africa. Welcome to driving impact.
