We are getting more little nuggets of news about the 2026-27 Duke Blue Devils. The team has released what numbers everyone will be wearing next season. And while numbers may seem less than exciting, the Duke Basketball Roundup crew is able to find something interesting to talk about in the digits each player chose. Plus, there is scheduling news to talk about. Duke has lined up another power conference opponent for a date in MSG. And the ACC has unveiled who we will be playing and where the games will be played during conference season. It is a challenging slate for a Duke club that has only lost one conference game in each of the past two seasons. Bring it on!! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Who are your favorite Duke players of all time? How hard would it be to pick a guy, just one guy, at each of the five positions on the floor? The latest edition of the Duke Basketball Roundup dives into the question -- pick your favorite Dukies (not best, favorite). But, before Jason and Donald get to that little exercise, they spend a few moments on the arrival of players for K Academy; the ever-growing hype surrounding Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje; and the growing role of Jared McCain on the defending (and future?) NBA champs. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We had a slew of news about Duke as the weekend started so the DBR Podcast crew had to hop on and talk about it. There's John Blackwell making it official -- no to the NBA Draft, yes to the Blue Devils. There's word of a really fun preseason exhibition against a blue blood program in a hallowed gymnasium. And there's a lot of buzz about international players coming over to the States, including Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, who is putting on a show in an elite youth tournament this weekend. Duke Men’s Basketball has set up another terrific home-and-home series, and the NBA Draft declarees hit up the Draft Combine. Donald and Jason go over it all on Episode 824! Duke has a couple of games added to the schedule: a home-and-home with Illinois starting with a game in Cameron this fall along with Coastal Carolina on the first week of the season. We discuss those games and opine as to how the schedule might look as it starts to get filled out. We also discuss a potential exhibition game against Tennessee that would be a return game for the one that was played in Knoxville last year. We then discuss the NBA Draft Combine and how Cam Boozer, Isaiah Evans, Maliq Brown and John Blackwell are doing. We don’t get into a full draft preview, but we discuss how Boozer, Slim, and Maliq are stacking up against the others and whether Blackwell has done enough to be this year’s Cedric Coward. We then end with some information about how Duke dominates all the ACC’s TV numbers. Make sure you’re following us! With the roster seemingly set, the Duke Basketball Roundup dives into two burning questions -- what are the strengths of this team and where are the weaknesses? Jason and Donald welcome frequent podcast contributors Scott Rich and Jordan Brenner for what amounts to a very, very early preview of the season. Listen in as each of the guys identifies one cause for optimism and one reason to be worried about the 2026-27 Blue Devils. This may be an extra long episode, but it is worth it! The DBR Podcast is back with a look at what is (maybe? probably?) the last roster move for the Blue Devils this off-season, the addition of Jacob Theodosiou from Loyola Maryland. Though it appears Thoedosiou is mostly slated to be a practice player, it is still worth breaking down his game to analyze how he will impact practices and push the rotation guys. After the break, Jason and Donald dive into the Big Ten snag that could impact Duke's big deal with Amazon. The guys also talk about how some beloved Dukies are doing in the NBA playoffs... and would you believe that one of the most underrated players in the league is a very famous Duke rookie? We're not done with the news! We're back very quickly to discuss more of the Duke Basketball news coming out over the past few days on Episode 822! If Episode 821 was the recruiting episode, 822 is the news episode and we start with the news that Duke has created a deal with Amazon Prime to have three showcase non-conference games air on the streaming platform in a multiyear deal. The games in 2026-27: UConn, Michigan, and Gonzaga. We discuss the historic deal and how Duke is setting itself up to once again have a terrific non-conference schedule. We also discuss Cooper Flagg holding off his former roommate Kon Knueppel to win the NBA's Rookie of the Year. It was a banner year for both, so we sing their praises. We end by throwing all the shade and scorn at the NCAA for their reported decision to imminently expand the NCAA Tournaments to 76 teams. Make sure you’re following us! Jon Scheyer's recruiting is truly off the charts incredible. In his latest master stroke, the Duke coach has convinced Spanish superstar Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje to come to Duke a year earlier than expected to join the 2026-27 Blue Devils. Boom Boom, as he is known, is considered perhaps the top prospect in the 2028 NBA Draft and Duke will get to see what he brings to the table starting this fall. The DBR Podcast crew has been crushing the tape and reading all the scouting reports to give you everything you need to know about the latest big man headed to campus. After the break, Jason and Donald have more recruiting news. There is word that Duke has officially offered Kager Knueppel's younger brother, Kager. And, Duke may be filling out the practice squad with a guy who was actually a pretty good D1 player last season. Tune in to the latest edition of the Duke Basketball Roundup for all the details. We’re back with Episode 820 where we get to know what we’re getting in new transfer John Blackwell from one of the coaches that knows him the most. We welcome his high school coach, Rick Palmer, to the show! Rick Palmer has known John since late in his freshman year of high school, and with Jason not available, Donald gets to catch up with his high school teammate about the player that will be one of the focal points for Duke next season. We get into John Blackwell’s game and discuss what kind of player Duke is getting. We get into what his best traits are on the court and what Palmer believes will make him successful in a Duke uniform. We also discuss John Blackwell the person and how grounded he is. One thing you will hear about is how great of a teammate Blackwell is (relating his leadership to a famous Duke player who played his high school ball a mile down the street), and how he embodies the fist mentality that Coach K instilled in the program. Rick Palmer only leaves us more excited about having him on the team next season! Make sure you’re following us! It is with sadness but also great pride that the Duke Basketball Roundup says goodbye to Cameron Boozer's career as a Blue Devil. Jason and Donald talk about the memories they have of one of the best to even put on the uniform. They go through some of the stats and the amazing games that made Cam into not just the National Player of the Year, but one of the most remarkable freshman campaigns in college basketball history. After the break, the podcast guys break down how Dukies did in the NFL draft, which is an important measuring stick for top programs, and Jason also has some recruiting news from the class of 2027. A familiar name is drawing interest from Jon Scheyer! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
