Okay, another sale preview. But I'm swinging it a little different this time. I have not done a full out steer sail yet and I finally gotten the opportunity to do so. I really don't think he could have started it any better. Granted, Luke, the co host is not here. He's been busy, he's on the road. But I wanted to take the opportunity to do this just because I looked through the sale the other day and just thought an immense amount of quality just throughout. And then I got to have the privileged Cassidy answered, I think within the first three rings. And he was all in after the end of the phone call. So with all this said, Cassidy Ryden and both y' all are here with me if y' all want to introduce yourselves first and then afterwards we can start diving into the sale and everything that it has to offer.
B
Well, Weston, thank you. I appreciate you giving us the call today and allowing us to be on your podcast here. My name is Cassidy Carroll and I'm originally from Northern California and I grew up there showing in 4H and I attended Oklahoma State University here in Stillwater. And we ended up moving our operation from California out here to Oklahoma last year. And we're pretty excited to be out here and pretty excited to offer this set of steers up.
A
Absolutely. Brad, what about you?
C
My name is Bryden Barber. I grew up on a diversified Hereford cattle operation in the Texas Panhandle. Born and raised Channing, Texas, about an hour north of Amarillo. Went to school at Oklahoma State. It's very fortunate to network and meet my good friend and co worker Cassidy Carroll. Now blessed be along for the ride and been helping Cassidy market his steers every year he's marketed them. Been full time a little over a year now and just blessed to be here for along the ride.
A
Yeah. So now this is going to be yalls 4th annual steer sale. Talk to me about kind of how y' all have since the start kind of gotten progressively better and better to now what the sale is today.
B
So when we first started, um, I had. It was probably my sophomore year in college and we really started to want to start raising some steers. And so we went out and found some, some donors up at the. We got a couple from. Up at the Dakota Classic from Brad Smith and Luke Doris. Um, and then we've got one with Rob Van Hove. And we really just tried to shape our program around these proven donors which now has led us to have some pretty successful calves out there. And we just try and keep growing our program based off these Proven cows. And we just keep trying to find better ones to improve our program.
A
Absolutely. Well, I think now, you know, we just start off with, I guess, lot one. I'm not going to lie. If I had a family that had a pretty sizable budget and they were wanting a cat for Denver next year, I wouldn't hesitate to bid on this one. I don't know what y' all think. That's just my opinion.
C
Yeah. Plot one, he's pretty special. I'll never forget as a. About 40 degrees in February. When he hit the ground, he stood up for the first time. And Cassidy looked at me and said, hey, that one's going to be a stud one day. And I didn't really know what to expect because, I mean, he just stood up for the first time. But I mean, this calf has done nothing but get better every, every day. I mean, when we sheared him off back in May for the summer, he, I mean, even with the slick haircut, I mean he looked like a stud out there. And he did really good over the summer. Got really chubby, started breaking on him middle part of July. And I mean, just blessed with a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful haircut. I mean he's got the presence, the look, the power, the arrogance. I mean, just everything you want in a big time show steer.
A
Absolutely. Yeah, for sure. I think his color works really well too. That just makes him more unique. I like gold ones quite a bit. So then now you got lot two and what I see, just almost not complete opposite, but here I am, obviously. And nothing against. Here I am. I like here I ams quite a bit. But you'd mentioned that Van Hoof cow earlier. It looks like he's out of that cow as well.
B
Yep. So that cow's a Merlin Outer Limits from Van Hoven. So that, that, that steer there a lot too. He'd be a full Sid to the good to go bull that Griswolds.
A
Oh, okay.
C
Market.
B
And we, we think that calf's just a really nice, solid calf. That state fair sized calf that could go and do some good things out there for, for a family for sure.
A
Yeah. Where would you think the state fair is probably his best bet?
C
Yeah, I'd say like they got the Cye out in California 1st of August or one of those state fairs across the I states. Illinois, Indiana, Iowa. I mean he's, he's a big, stout, burly calf. I mean he, he'll definitely work for one of those earlier state fairs, no doubt.
A
And then you got lot three is a red one that One that caps out of ginger. I'll be honest, I haven't seen many gingers just overwhelm you in one sale. And it's just good. It's refreshing to see like some good looking gingers. And this Smith Carroll 606 donor, she's pretty relevant in majority of yalls sale cattle throughout. So you talk to me about that calf. Where y' all think he ends up? Maybe the background on him.
B
I think that calf, I mean his hair code isn't the greatest but I think, I think down the road he could be a good slicking calf for, for a county fair. I mean especially out in California for those August fairs. I think he'd work really good. He's sound, he's got a good presence, he's got a great attitude. And I think he could make a damn nice steer for, for, for a family out there in California.
A
Awesome.
C
And Weston, you touched on the 606 cow and I think we could sit here all day and just talk about what that cow has done for the club calf industry. I mean last December in the Dakota Classic sale, Cassidy and Brad Smith sold pick of their clones for I mean 160,000. I mean that's, that is a really prominent cow. It's really hot right now in the club calf industry that keeps on knocking. Very, very competitive steers at every level.
A
Yeah, for sure. And now you got a lot for what I think is intriguing about that cafe. He's a here for good. I'll be really like in terms of haired cattle, I haven't seen just a huge variety of here for goods but when I do see them, I think they're killer and I think this calf is too.
C
Yeah, this, this year for good out of this 01C calib Dakota Gold lucky charm cow. Really, really good looking calf. I mean he keeps coming on every day. His rib and cage and just body density is really just impressive. It's kind of overwhelming once you get in behind him. Honestly. You see how big and robust he is through his center portion of his body and just the hip and hind leg he sits down on. We don't have many here for goods but I mean they, they scream quality to us.
A
Where do y' all think, where would y' all like to see his endpoint at?
C
You know, he doesn't have just the best hair. It's. I mean it's not bad, but it's not great. I think that one personally would look really good in a slick division either. I mean any of those state fairs that have one Or I'd prefer to see him at Dallas. Quite honestly, I think he fits that mold pretty good for that state fair.
A
Okay. And then now lot five full sib. What's more different about him compared to the other one? Like I know there's some differences but maybe point them out for us and describe him a little more.
B
This calf is. Ever since he was born he's always kind of stood out. He's big boned, he's sound, he's super, super powerful. Got a bunch of muscle. And we just think this calf just screams state fair to us. And I think he could be pretty competitive. And those midwest state fairs he's going to be. He's going to get there. I mean he's a big boy but I think he's going to have plenty of look and plenty of power to be able to compete.
A
Awesome. And then lot six kind of a painted up black calf. So how great thou art out of yalls D4 Dame. Looks like Kelly on a daddy's money. Really cool calf. Not gonna, not gonna lie like out there pieces. Big hit, big bodied. Give us a little background about him.
C
Yeah. So that's a. That's a really nice chromed up. How great son out of the daddy's money Kelly we acquired from the Boyer crew. I think it was four years ago. Four or five years ago. And I mean another calf. He's. His hair was kind of coming in pretty thin here early but now it's really turned on. He was really, really hairy as a calf. So don't let that turn you away. But I mean just another one with look, build, structural integrity and I mean just so dense down his top and into his quarter and stifle. I think one that will be a big time player wherever he ends up. He can. He's more probably a summer to fall shower. I don't know if he'd quite be considered a holdover but I think one that it will be very competitive wherever he ends up.
B
Awesome.
A
And he got one in Lot 7. Another how great but different cow. Maybe talk to us about that cow. This.
B
Yes. This cow we acquired up from the Dakota Classic actually the same year we purchased 606 up there. And she's a full sib to Doris's 6:15 which she'd be a Danny boy profit cow. And we think this Cathy, he's got a. I mean he's got the build, he's got a good skeleton on him and he's going to be sound. He just needs some feed and he just needs some time but we think with a little bit of time and feed he's going to come into himself and make a nice calf.
A
A little time feed probably even be good for later in the fall, maybe two. I don't know. That's just what I, I mean what do y' all think?
B
Probably I think what I think, I think later he's gonna be, he's gonna be nice.
C
Yeah, I think you. He's more of a Kansas City, Louisville, Denver type of steer. Just one that's just gonna keep getting better every day.
A
And then you got one of my personal favorites after looking through the sale. That's lot 8 and I know he's a Bogarth daddy's money on the dame side. Another how great. And from what it looks like he might be the lighter weight one of the group. But I think just loads and loads of potential in the future. I mean I love skinny green ones that have good feet and legs but when they got big feet and legs like that in a neck, I think that just makes it all that much better.
C
Yeah, you just hit the nail on the head there. Skinny green but big feet and legs, running gear, wild looking. I mean for sure this is, he's one of the under cabs in the sale and I mean that's the only difference. He just doesn't have the chubbiness and fat that the other, other steers do. But I mean this was kind of a sleeper early on. But as soon as that thing hit the picture pen, I mean his, his head, neck was in the clouds the whole time. I mean his presence and structure is just undeniable. And like you said, it's just one that's just going to need a little more time on feed. But we really think this one has a bunch of potential to be competitive in the end for sure.
A
Agreed 100%. Those are my type and kind of cattle. Just ones that you get to lay the feet on it and watch them, watch them evolve into something that you kind of envisioned when you bought them. So then you got lut9 another here for good. Looks like just a, just your dense, bold bodied, easy feeding kind. Just kind of coast along until it's time for show day.
B
Yep. Now this is just your meat and potatoes calf that you can't really pick a hole in him. He's sound, he's good bodied, good muscle. I don't he's not gonna have the best hair coat. He'd probably, probably need to go for a slick and type. But I do think this calf, he's just a solid Calf, I mean, he can't really pick a hole in him.
A
So you prefer to see him slick rather than haired. Probably like an earlier fall show, I'd assume.
B
Yep, yep.
A
Okay. All right. And you gotta change it up a little bit. You gotta end God over this 707, who I haven't seen so far in the sale. Really cool hair, really cool look, big feet, legs. Looks like he's really good legged. You kind of describe him for us, what y' all think on him. Yeah.
C
So he, he's the only in God 707. And 707 is another cow that we acquired out of that first class sale from Brad Smith. That's really done a lot of good. We'll get to one later in the sale, lot 21. But Brad actually sold a heifer out of this cow for 110,000 back in September. Wow. And so we're really excited to see what she can do. But yeah, I mean, let's get into this in God steer. I mean, wild looking, high tying. I mean, his feet and legs are just incredible. I mean, the presence he possesses. When you're out there looking at him. I mean, he never gives you a bad look. I think very, very highly of this calf. I think he can be very, very competitive at Dallas. I mean, big, square hip. Hip and hip and hind leg has a Runway for a top and I mean, just gets out and goes with ease. So good bodied. I mean, just a really, really high quality calf, we think.
B
Awesome.
A
So then next you got lot 11. He's a. Here I am out of that again. The Danny Boy profit cow looks to be February, kind of on the smaller end from what it seems like just on picture. But I could be wrong, so correct me if I am. Looks like another green one that if you keep on feeding, you might evolve into something that you're gonna like quite a bit.
B
Yep. No, I'd have to agree with you, Weston. He's. He, he just keeps with some time. He just keeps coming on, looking good. Um, he's really came on here these last couple months. Um, his. He's gonna have a nice hair coat and super attractive from the side and super sound. And I just think he just, I mean, once again, he just needs some time and some feed. And I think this calf will be pretty competitive down the road.
A
Probably later fall. Early. Early winner type situation with him.
B
Yep, yep. He's going to be more of a. More of a holdover kind of kind of calf.
A
Yes, sir. Yes, sir. So then, same cow, but different sire. And honestly, think how Great's just a little better. But that's just my biased opinion. And with that said, looks like just dance. Big footed, big bodied one that's still got a cool neck to him. Maybe even just a little smoother compared to the other one. But what do y' all think? Where do you think he lands? What's been the story on him?
C
Yeah, so this is. This cash been really nice from the start. I mean he's just a march and he's got a really good hair. Coats had it early. Really easy to mess with. I hate using the word this term, but I'm going to use it. This is just a really safe bet to be a competitive steer in the end. I mean, just super complete. Very attractive from the side. His angles are good. Super smooth about his shoulder, back into his fore rib and heart. Stepping behind him, plenty powerful. I think one that will be very competitive. You could shoot him anywhere from probably Denver all the way to Oie. I mean he's. I think you could push on him a little bit and get him wherever you want or just sit on him and let him do it himself. I mean it's just one. He's just going to be a really safe bet to be really good in the end. I mean he's just pretty hard to pick a hole in that calf.
A
Completely agree. Well, then you got in lot 13. He's a here for good. Another 606. Looks to be just probably kind of on the opposite. Slick calf looks like he's real good in his muscle shape. Real big hip and stifle. Still looks sound to me from his picture and video. Where do y' all think?
B
No, he hit it perfectly. He's a. He's gonna be a good slick and steer.
C
He's.
B
He's got all the right pieces to be nice. He just, he just wasn't blessed with the hair coat.
A
Right.
B
He reminds me quite a bit of his full brother up there. The here for good.
A
Yep.
B
And I think those two are pretty similar, but I also think they're both pretty high on quality.
A
Well, then you got another here. I am. So this, this would be a full Sib to Lot 14. Be a full Sib 2. Which kit or which. It'd be Lot 11. Correct.
B
Yep.
A
Yep. Awesome. Yeah. Wicked neck. Wicked look from the side. Probably needs a little more time in terms of feed. What do y' all think? Probably like a Denver, Louisville type situation here.
C
Yeah, I'd say so. I will add he's smooth cold. So I mean, how brave you are. You could run Him Angus Cowtown. Yeah, but yeah, I mean, it's, it's. We, I know we're getting repetitive on saying they need a little more time, but I mean, I don't know where all your audience touches, but this Oklahoma heat this summer has been brutal and just some of the cavs just haven't gotten quite as chubby yet. But we are looking to actually have a fall starting next week. So, I mean, they're going to start packing it on here in the next week. But yeah, just a really. Another good sound structure. Good looking, thick ended, kind of a calf that's going to be able to do a lot of good. For who? Whoever ends up with him.
A
Yeah, you mentioned like we're just now like getting fall weather here in South Texas. It's still 90 degrees in October, which I think obscene. But I, I personally, I think green sound, structured calves are the best in terms of having a variety of end points because if they hit a gear and you can push them harder, they're going to look fresh for that show that's coming. Or if you decide to let him roll and kind of gain on his own, still be fresh for a later show down the road.
C
Yeah, that's how we've been. We've had pretty much the same weather as you. I mean, we were 88 degrees today. I mean it just, it just hasn't let up on us yet. I think it's just been hot everywhere and these calves are just going to do so much better in the coming weeks when it finally cools off and they're just more comfortable.
A
And then lot 15 different cow, one that we haven't talked about yet. She's D1, 44, 22. Family tradition. Talk to us about the dame and then we can go over the steer. Yeah.
B
So this, this D1, we purchased Turtle from RJ probably three years ago. She'd be a full sib to the, to a horny that RJ's been promoting. And we think, I mean, this calf, ever since he was a baby, he's always been super, super stout. He's hairy, big feet, big legs, sound. I've always loved this calf. I think he could be another dang nice state, state fair contender. Just, just a solid calf. Yeah, you can't really pick a hole on him and good looking from the side and I think he's going to be very competitive.
A
Looks and reads to be a heavier weight one of the group. So probably an earlier fall. Earlier fall show. Yep.
C
Yeah, for sure. And to add on, Cassidy, I'll never Forget when this calf was born. I remember we pulled him backwards and it was about 10:30 at night, one night in February. So I will never forget this calf as he pulled me out of bed and we cranked him on out.
A
How about that? Okay, so next we got lot 16. We've talked about this cow. Was that Danny Boy profit on other how great so it'd probably be. I forget what be full sib to 12. 12. Okay. Lighter weight again we've talked about these lighter weight, greener ones that we can kind of hold over on or push on later down the road. Cool looking proportional. Huge feet and legs that look like they work. What do you all think?
C
Yeah, I mean you're describing them pretty much how we see them. Another note on this one. He is smooth polled and that's what a bunch of our visitors that we've seen so far already. I've said that they see this cat being very competitive as an Angus pending classifications, but everyone says that that shouldn't be a problem. But yeah, just super smooth, super good looking sound very powerful in terms of his muscle down his top and down into his quarter and stifle just, just a really, really nice.
B
Yeah.
A
So for any families out there looking for your Angus steer for Cowtown in the winter of 2027, here he is. This is what you need to go after. So then you got lot 17.
B
This calf here, he is a very practical, just a good feed and steer. He's got a great attitude. Good for a first year showman.
C
Solid calf.
B
Full sim to some. Some very nice steers in the sale. Good muscle, just, just a good calf. Solid calf can't go.
A
So first, first calf showman type situation here for maybe a little girl that wants a fuzzy black one. So then you got lot 18. Here I am out of that same Danny Boy profit cow looks to be a little heavier weight, big feet and legs with a cool look. Kind of thinking earlier fall show but could be haired up. So probably contend definitely one of those big I state shows.
C
Yeah, I mean that, that Danny Boy Crawford did a really, really good job for us this year. Really have some like differences in the cavs, but I think they're all quality in different aspects. And this is another one. He's probably the stoutest and most dense in terms of his muscle and body out of the group.
A
Okay.
C
And I think his presence is very, very good and just super good in terms of his body and then a sip and hind leg is just one we dream of having on a calf. I mean one that's got a ton of presence in his. Cassidy mentioned this one. He does have a little bit of frostbite here, but I mean that shouldn't push anyone away from him. I mean he's good looking, stout at the ground, smooth in terms of his shoulder and his angles. I mean just a really, really solid calf.
A
Then you got another in God We Trust in Lot 19. Looks like cow we haven't seen yet. It's out of Ryman. 69 is like a dry country over a heat seeker. Talk to us about the story on that cow. Maybe how y' all got her, why you decided to pair up to end God.
C
You know, this is just a mating that's really worked for pretty good for us in the recent years. Last year we sold a full sib. Brian Martin actually purchased him and sold him to New Mexico for the New Mexico State Fair. And he won every jackpot he went to out there. And then he ended up being reserved charolay at the New Mexico State Fair. And I mean he was a crowd favorite of many, but yeah, I mean just a really solid, big hard, muscled calf that I mean just reads slick and all day long. I mean he's going to have the hair, it's going to come. But I mean this guy is just a big time slick shearing calf. And I mean you could probably push him to a state fair, but I mean San Antonio and this guy all day long.
A
That was my thoughts exactly. He's about young enough that you can kind of just let him roll for a while and then start pushing on him 60, 90 days out of San Antonio and get him right.
C
Yep, no doubt about it.
B
Awesome.
A
And then lot 20, here I am out of that Van Hoof cow we talked about earlier. Looks like another big stout footed, cool looking one. Kind of thinking early fall type situation with him reads yeah, a little heavier weight.
B
More like a, like a Kansas City. We think his city would, would fit him pretty, pretty perfectly.
A
Awesome.
B
Just a solid, solid calf. Big stout hip, good hide, land behind leg on him. He's got a big old rib cage on him and super long neck. Just good looking from the side. And we just, I mean we think Kansas City just fits him perfectly.
A
And then you got lot 21. He's a golden ticket. And we just released an episode with Laramie Priest and that's Larry's been promoting that sire for quite a bit. And then out of that 707 cal, I think this calf's got loads of potential at a slick show. But he is a January reads be pretty heavyweight so kind of a situation he needs to go early fall show. That's a slick show. Yeah.
C
And I mean he is a January, but it's only because he came about two and a half weeks early on us and he's later part of January. So I mean, okay, he's really in the same condition as the rest of them. Bigger older Februarys. But yeah, this 707 cow is really getting hot. And so is golden ticket Laramie and Ty Webster's bull. I mean they've sold countless high sellers across the country this fall. And this is, this is the one that's the full sib to Brad Smith's $110,000 heifer that he sold back in September. And I mean, I mean just look at his picture. The look, the presence he has, the feet and legs he sets down on, the body density. And I mean when you step in behind this guy, I mean you're just blown away in terms of his top shape and then back down into his quarter and stifled hip and hind leg. It's just massive and overwhelming. But yeah, I mean this guy should be very competitive at a slick show in the fall.
A
That's where my, that's my thoughts or probably one of my favorites in Lot 22. I think this thing's look feature. But the coolest thing about this cabin thing is is his chest just from his picture. And I watched his video and it looks surreal. Like the, the base of his chest is just really neat and super big bodied. Huge feet and legs that are extra squishy at the surface. Think this calf's got loads of potential and looks not to be heavyweight but like little, little like Kansas City, maybe Denver.
B
Yep. No, I'd have to agree. I absolutely love this calf and it gave me hope out of our, that new cow D1 we've got. This is our first calf crop and I think those could be really good down the road. But this calf, I mean rocket fronted massive feet, massive legs, got a good body on him and he just, he just has a great presence. When you're out there in the pasture looking at him, I mean he's always got his head cocked and he's, he's looking sharp. I, I love this calf.
A
Good deal. He's one of my favorites for sure. Then you got lot 23 another here for good. But on 606. So looks like just like huge footed, dense, made just kind of like your meats potatoes calf. But isn't not pretty because that calf has a good looking profile. Yeah.
C
This caster, he's A joy to be around. I mean he's got such good attitude. He loves being a show seer. I mean but once you get past that, that's all the extras. But I mean sharp fronted, I mean super dense. I mean huge metal, huge middle, big set of feet and legs that he knows how to use. And then his hip and hind leg is just as stout as you can make them. Definitely a calf that's going to be a holdover. He, he needs to find a dirt lot and a diet and grow a little bit.
A
Right.
C
But I mean one that's sure manage right. Will be very, very tough in the end.
A
What's the story behind the college kids giving him a name, Carlos?
C
I don't know. Honestly, I never asked them. They just told me one day when I walked in the barn when they were ranting, they're like, hey, just so you know, we named this one Carlos. I'm like, go for it.
A
Whatever, man.
B
I do, I do got to give our college kids a shout out. They do do a great job for us and awesome. Yeah, we're very, very blessed to have them around here.
A
Yeah. I assume all OSU students.
B
That's correct. Yep. Awesome.
A
Good deal. Good.
C
Go pokes. Not the football team though.
A
Not the football team. They just fired head coach Gundy.
B
Yeah.
C
Pretty tough football season ahead for us.
A
Yeah. Yeah. It doesn't look too. Doesn't look too bright unless something miraculous happens. All right, so next you got lot 24. Another here I am. We've talked about this cow. She's D2 Bogarth. Daddy's money. Looks to be March weighs y' all saying 505 pounds. So definitely from what it looks like hair coats, just not the greatest but could be big time contender in the slick world like San Antonio type situation.
B
Yep. I'd have to agree. He's a good running gear. He just needs some time. Like we've said before, he just needs to eat some feed and, and get to growing.
A
Yeah.
B
And other than that, I think he's going to be good if he's going to look anything like his brother. Lot 8.
A
Yeah, yeah, for sure. Next you got lot 25. How great. And yalls D1 cow looks like probably really good royal contender or maybe even push him along towards Denver. But I mean calf looks super burly, super dense. What do y' all think?
C
Yeah, like Caskey said earlier, this first calf crop out of that cow and I mean she kind of blew us away. Knocked it out of the park. Her first set. I mean all super high quality and I think this is the only how great we're offering. But I mean in terms of look from the side presence, proportionality from his chest for back into his heart and flank, I mean doesn't get much better. I mean running gear is second to none. I mean just a really, really big time calf. I mean he's the heaviest one we got and I think he'll be a big time state fair calf wherever he ends up.
A
Oh, okay. Lot 26. Another ginger out of 606. So would this be a full sib to lot three?
B
That would be correct, yes.
A
Okay. Awesome. Looks like you same build type and kind in terms of proportions and body shape. Different color though. And what do you all think about this one? Where do you think he lands? What are yalls hopes for him?
B
I think this cast he's going to need to go to a, to a later show. But I think he's got a little more presence than that Lot 3. But I do think, I mean he's sound. I think he's going to be a slick in one. His hair coat hasn't just been awesome. I think they're. I think you could probably get some decent hair on him. But he's just never been super shaggy like those other ones. Right. But I do think this calf, I mean he sound got a nice neck on him, got some muscle and he's pretty proportional. I think he's going to be nice.
A
Then you got lot 27 here. I am out of that D1 cow. So we talked about her being her first calf crop this year. By far probably the lightest weight one in the group. Am I right about that?
C
Yeah, for sure. This one's recent, wasn't very good. Didn't have a whole lot of milk. So he's always kind of been behind. But I mean if you study the picture and video, he's got all the right pieces that his brothers does. I mean he's good looking, stout at the ground, good bodied, thick ended. Just gonna take a little bit longer to get there from. The simple fact is he was just super behind in terms of his condition and development based off his mother. But I mean don't let that shy away from the quality that calf possesses.
A
Yeah. Is this one polter skirt.
C
He's got a little bit of scars on him.
A
Oh, that's unfortunate. About to say he'd work great for Fort Worth and he still probably would actually in the exotic division but definitely later show with this sad. Let's see, Lot 28's next. We got that Van Hoof. Cow back in here we talked about multiple times. Now here I am, February born. So state fair size probably looks to be super, super big bodied, good feet and legs at work.
B
No, that, that cow, she just puts the muscle in the bone. I mean, she just makes them, she built, she builds them. Right. And just another, I mean, good solid meat potatoes calf. I think he'd be a nice, damn nice county fair steer for California or anywhere out here in the Midwest. But, but just another solid, solid meat potatoes calf.
A
Well then you got lot 29 looks like lead the way. And then a cow that we haven't Talked about yet. D3. Am I correct on that?
C
Yeah.
B
So.
C
So this guy's going to be a purebred Angus.
A
Okay, so go to a national show.
C
Yep, yep. This is a junior national quality calf. That D3 cow, she's a insight 1405 from Express. She would have raised the grand champion heifer at the Ohio State Fair two years ago.
A
Okay.
C
And so, yeah, we got a purebred Angus deer here. A little IVF reverse sort gone wrong. But I mean, really not a bad deal. I mean a really good Angus deer with tons of luck and power for an Angus deer. That really gives you a good proportional look from his chest back into his heart and flank. I mean, one that I think would just be really competitive at the Junior national next summer.
A
Absolutely.
B
For sure.
A
Then you got my favorite calf, lot 30. I'll just be quite honest. These smokey hided how greats. I think they're just super, super unique. But I'll be honest, like, I would love to see this one as a heavyweight at San Antone. And I think he's got the build, the muscle shape, the body type to fit that exact. That exact date.
C
Yep. Hey, you. You called it exactly. I think this is a very, very big time San Antone calf. Like you said, he's got the look, the body and the structure to hold on and really ramp it up in the last 45, 60 days of his show career. But yeah, I mean, one full sibilot, one doesn't have the hair lot one does little different, but I think one that is just so good in terms of his structure, so dense and bold through the center portion of his body and just has a huge back. You step in behind him. I mean his quarter and stifles massive and overwhelming. He's just so wide, constructed, gets out and goes so good and just has that real good look through his front one third. I mean, all he's missing to be lot one is the hair that Lot one's got, right?
A
Yeah. I think you let this one kind of sit in a cooler throughout the rest of the winter and part. Part of the spring and get them all shagged up and haired up for big time jackpots and then just do the same thing again throughout the. Throughout the winter and let him roll into San Antonio fresh hided look the part for sure.
C
Yeah, that. That's a calf we're real high on here and we hope everyone that's been through has found them and as high on them as we are because we think that calf has a very bright future.
A
Well, with all this said, we kind of went through all this, all the sale lots. Anything else that y' all want to tack on too?
B
I'd just like to give Bryden a shout out. He's done a great job getting this set of cattle together and it's been a pleasure having him help us out here. And it's kind of neat, kind of a full circle story with us being college roommates and, and then having him come and help us out here. It's been, it's been a pleasure and he's done a, done a tremendous job putting this set of cattle together. So I just want to. Want to thank him and give him a shout out, so.
A
Well, boys, I appreciate y' all coming on and letting us do this. The preview. This is a new venture for, for the platform and I think it's something I definitely want to keep doing. The goal is to do this full time eventually, I think is the end point. We. We'll see how that goes. But this is definitely starting to be able to cover sales with the quality that's in it. Like, this is the really, really good way to start, in my opinion. So with all this said, I appreciate everything that y' all allowed us to do and I'm grateful we got to all the lots and, and with all this said, we send our condolences to y' all and hope the best for the sale. And it will be on 20th of October and so come that day, it's like steer bidder says, bid to win.
C
That's right. Again, thank you, Weston, for having us and previewing the Cavs with us. We really appreciate, really admire what you're doing out there for, for being just a young college kid trying to pave his way and just really help people market their cattle. I mean, it's really neat to see what you're doing and we thank you very much for allowing us the opportunity to talk about our sale with you.
A
Appreciate y'. All, There will be episode two coming out this weekend. And so, with all this said, empowerment is here. Thank you all for tuning in.
B
Thank you, Weston.
