All right, so we have another preview and I'm really excited to do this one. Not because of the American influence cattle in it, but the quality of them. So we're going to be representing la Para Cattle Company. Find. The sale on SC happens on the 14th. We have Quattro on here with us to describe the cattle and go through the lots with us alongside Clayton Trammel. So with all this said, Quattro, why don't you introduce yourself why you're excited about the sale And Clayton, give your thoughts. After that, we'll dive through them.
B
Yeah, I'm Quattro Schauer. I'm from B. We've been raising show cattle for several years now and I'm excited. This is probably the deepest set I've ever raised and I definitely think their quality is just way above what I expected to be doing year three or four in this deal.
C
Yeah. Anybody that's been paying attention for a while in the club calf industry? Quattro and I aren't too far off in age, so I got to. Got to see him show in the ring and shared the ring showing with him. And a guy that's hung banners from Fort Worth all the way through the slick shows and had a lot of success in the ring and it sure has translated to his cow calf operation. It doesn't take long to figure that out if you start scrolling through this sale here. So super excited to have him on and the opportunity to. To visit about these. These cabs he's got in a sale on SC coming up.
A
We all start off with lot one. This can be interrogator on a female you call 463, which is a man amongst boys. 620 Be a flush mate to Sugar Bear. A Simba prospect that you have listed as a bu. Talk to me about what you think he has to offer. Is there an option to cut him or anything like that if he does make a show steer his best endpoint or anything like that?
C
Yeah.
B
So he is a bull option. And if he is capable, I am keeping 50% semen. I think that thing the cliche of since day one, I've always loved that one and I think that gets way overused in our industry. But that one has never from the day he was born till today. And I don't think the rest of his life he's always going to be one that just gives you the right look as far as a bull, that thing bone feet and legs and muscle shape and just his style. I think he has so many attributes as a Bull and a show cap. I think you hang a lot of banners and I think end point wise he'd probably be somewhere from San Antonio middleweights Houston. He'd probably be pushing a little closer on the heavies. But I do think that that one can can play with with a lot of timbrels.
C
Yeah. You described him. I think perfect in your foot gives you lots of options whether it's being a steer or being a breeding piece. Just awesome balance, foot bone, muscle shape, body shape, look. If he stays a bull, looks like he's going to throw lots of different color patterns like that Kev. Quite a bit.
A
Yes, sir. Lot two will be next. This is an American hero on a female. We call 127 which is a China bear on a girt female. This is a Simbra prospect steer. I do like this one's look from profile, his proportionality, his rib sh shape as progression, how he progresses back deeper to his flank. His hind leg is awesome and he's stout footed calf. I'd like to see this one slicked off between San Antonio and Houston. What's your thoughts, Quattro?
B
Yeah, man, I think this is a perfect one for San Antonio. I mean he's the right age. He just his muscle shape. He's got the slick Sheeran muscles and like you said, he gets around so good and he's got such a good look when you get his head up and hide quality. His color I think is phenomenal when you get in the slick sheer deal and man, I'm excited about that one. I think a lot of people might overlook him a tad, but I think that's a great slicking one come San Antonio next year.
C
Yeah. One I view as being a great slick sheer calf. It looks like he gets big enough to play to win a breed size wise. But another one that just cats around that pin. Lots of look, lots of balance, muscle shape, color appeal. It looks like a good calf there.
A
Yes, sir. Lot three will be next. This is an American hero on female we call 26 which is Red Rockies on Potts of 848. Another Simbra prospect. He resembles a lot of things of what two has a lip, probably a little longer necked, a little longer proportioned, but just as stout, featured, just as big footed. I love his color pattern as well. This calf is really awesome. I think a same endpoint wise like you just mentioned Quattro San Antone time. I think be real, real good for him. What do you think?
B
Yeah, I think this calf. Well first off, he's My six year old's gonna be very upset with me when he leaves the barn. That thing's puppy dog gentle. He rubs all over him, plays with him. I think he simbraw or gerd. I think he's a cool gird. He's got a little rental streaks in him. He. That one's as dense as anything I have. I mean, just from his bone to muscle shape to how much belly he has. And he's so gentle. He really never gives you a great look until you put him on the halter. But, man, you get his old head up and he comes together. And I think middleweights at San Antone and be pushing on heavies at Houston. Simbra or Girt, whichever way you want to go.
C
Yeah, I know the one that's just rugged and as far as features and foot bone mass, body shape. It sounds like that he's first year general, but certainly looks like senior year quality. Good calf there.
A
Yes, sir. Well, lot four is next and you'll have a Brahmin to offer, which is a Maker's mark on your female call. 53, which is a purebred. And in relation to what we've talked about prior, he's probably a little bit on the greener side, but I don't think that works to a disadvantage for this calf because his build is incredible. I think with the feet and legs like that that can be pushed, he can be 12 o' clock for whatever end point he needs to be at. What is your thoughts, Quattro?
B
Yeah, man. That one's running gear and bone and feet and legs, just like you said. They're incredible. He is a shot skinnier than most in the sale, but I see a lot. So his. His full brother is the calf that Morgan the Wind was champion Brahmin with at sand and Tone, and y' all had Jake on and he talked about that one kind of being in the hunt for third overall or reserve. And I see a lot of the same features in this kf. I actually own the cow with Lane and Brittany Homier, and we. We're all just as excited about this one as we were that one when we sold him last year.
C
Yeah, I saw the mating on this one and kind of clicked in my head that I thought he was probably a sib to that calf or full siber, at least half sib. But another calf that's just awesome. Awesome to look at, fun to look at. Just. Just thinking about the opportunity and possibilities down the road. Awesome balance, awesome look. Full neck, ties up high. You Know, on the top side of his shoulder there a calf that says a shot on the. On the skinnier side today. But I think you just get that thing home and feed on him and let him show you what he can do.
A
Yes, sir. Well, lot five is next, and this is going to be an American hero on a female that's out of Earhart bull on a Beefmaster, a Simbra prospect. But really, truly, you say this is the hairiest one of the bunch. I think if he ends up in the right home on the right feed program, this calf could be an awesome lightweight there at Fort Worth. I don't know what your thoughts are if he makes it or not, but if not, he does classify. Simbron. The calf would be really neat to look at there at the green chips in Houston.
B
Yeah, I think if you don't choose to go to Fort Worth or if he doesn't hair up enough for you, I think like you said, cheering him for Houston is awesome. He's going to be a cool bridal painter. That thing is the hairiest one from the day he was born till now. I mean, he's shucked out right now and he's still got a bunch of hair, and that's probably hurt him as much as anything down here with me. It's probably one of the reasons he's a shot skinnier than some just fighting the heat down here in South Texas. But I, I do think that is probably the best Fort Worth lightweight one I've ever raised. Even if you got a slick in my thing, you can go either way and that thing gets it done.
C
Yeah. One I read with multiple options, but the first thing that that hit me initially was Fort Worth on this calf to be to have the character that he has and to tucked up and so neat in his chest floor, so good in his lines. Big haired, big foot, big legs. I like that Kev quite a bit.
A
Yes, sir. Lot six is next. This is going to be a saw and logs on a 16 hooter female, an ABC prospect that is again, a little on the green side, but his build is incredible and I think if he hits 12 o', clock, he's going to look the part. If someone get his rib and body shape right, I think the calf has got a real bright future ahead of him with that kind of feet and legs.
B
Yeah. So this one was actually raised by my buddy Ty Jimmerson, and he asked if he could put a couple calves in the sale. And I said absolutely, man. And any kind of quality. I know he raises quality and any, any quality is welcomed in my sale. And like you said man, this thing gets out and moves good. He is a shot skinny but he, he does have great muscle shape and I think in the right home he could body down and be be contention for a brand.
C
Yeah, one with great look is on the, on the greener side today. But you can see the muscle shape in him. You can see the future that the calf has. I think it's just one. You just need to get home and, and put the, put the feed to him and another one just let, let him show you what he can do down the road.
A
Yes, sir. Well, lot seven is next. This is going to be an American hero. And on female we call 59 which is an American legacy black rhino. A classifying bring us prospect that is very robust about the center portion of his body. Stout featured, is deep healed and moves his hind legs so well. And the posture of it's incredible. Talk to me about what you think this calf's best end point is. It looks like he had some awesome hair quality. I think that's something that any individual could have fun with over the summer and fall or potentially Fort Worth. What's your thoughts?
B
Yeah man, he did, he did have beautiful soft hair before I sheared it actually one night our electric fence got shut off and that's why a bunch of these calves rubbed. They figured it out and they rubbed their necks. That's, that's probably the only reason he got sheared. But yeah, end point wise I think just kind of like some of these other ones I talked about. I think he's a middleweight at San Antonio and he's matching on the heavies at Houston. And feet and legs are incredible and attitude is a plus. Plus first year showman. Doesn't matter that my 6 year old crawls around that one too.
C
Yeah, I love the, the mating on the cow side of this one and you study the video and cat just ton of rib shape, ton of body. Be fun to jackpot all year long. He's going to have the look not going to be on the greener skinnier side taken into those but Kev with lots of options from Fort Worth all the way to Houston.
A
Sir. Well, lot eight is next and this is actually going to be a full sib to Lot 5. And he replicates a lot of the things that that calf has to offer in terms of length and neck, tidiness of chest shape up high hip and hind leg posture. Maybe not quite the hair quality like his brother, but I think this one Slicks off and has an awesome day as a girp between San Antonio and Houston. What's your thoughts?
B
Ye. Yeah, he and I think you described him perfectly. That to me that's the kind in the lightweights it takes to go get a brand. His muscle shape's incredible and I think he stays a lightweight his whole campaign. He's. I don't ever see him weighing more than about 1150, but a slicking dude in the girts. He's got a shot of br in him and he is a cool mate.
C
Yeah. One that hit me hard initially as a calf that I thought could sure enough go go brand at a slick major. Looks like he's going to be a lightweight. I'm but a calf with, with incredible back shape to be so, to be so young, but kept the cats around that, that pin there real good with lots of look, lots of balance. I like that one quite a bit.
A
Yes, sir. Pot nine is next. And this is going to be a painted red on the female called 26. We've talked about her prior to. She's a red Rocky Pots 848, a black cross that is very unique in terms of his profile, his proportionality, length of neck, length of spine, levelness of hip. I think the calf's awfully, awfully nice. Reads like he could maybe hit Fort Worth if he ends up in the right place in the right setting. But I'd love to see this one slicked off as well. He reads to have awesome back shape and especially real powerful out of his hip lower quarter and stifle.
B
Yeah. So this one is a painted red, which is a bull I bought from Bixler and this is 26, his natural calf. He his half brother. Last year I had a kid show him in Houston at Class 2 blacks and he branded. I see the exact same thing for this one. I think, I think come next spring. This thing in the lightweight blacks is very, very, very competitive.
C
Yeah. One that doesn't have a lot of it, but it appears his hair quality is nice. But I, I read him the same way you guys anywhere from Angelo to Houston as a slick and black cross just like that cap quite a bit.
A
Yes, Sir. Well, lot 10 is next. This is going to be a full tilt on a little Richard and God we trust female, a July born shorthorn or red cross prospect. I'm not a classifier. I don't really know. But regardless of what breed he ends up in, I think with a little time in TLC, this calf 12 o' clock will be right on the money. What's yalls thoughts?
B
Yeah, so this is another one Ty Jimmerson raised and brought to my sale. I agree with you. I think muscle shape and soundness and he's so unique fronted. I think just a little time to feed this thing could be highly competitive in the end.
C
Yeah, I read him as a real good slicking one. Whether it's Shorthorn Red Cross, I don't really think it matters when you, when you have the pieces and the quality that this one has. Just lots of look. Another one that's just super athletic when he, when he moves around that pin. Good calf there.
A
Yes sir. Lot 11 is next. I'm excited about this one too. This would be a full sib to Lot 7. Didn't come out pulled like his brother but I think it's okay because this one is a gird I think screams. I need to be in the backdrop for sure. His back shape, his depth of body, his stoutness of feature for to be that young is. Is really incredible. Talk to me about what you think his best in point is.
B
Yeah, I think this one I'm probably going to kick myself in 30 days when I get to see him again because he is one of the skinniest in the sale and I wasn't sure if I was going to put him in there but when I sheared him off just his lines and his bone and man he's got a crease down his back for. And to me that's pretty incredible for how skinny he is and I think he could be the sleeper. And I agree with you, he's a. He's a perfect lightweight girt. Kind of same as the red calf a few lots ago. I think just his type and kind is one you have to start with to have a chance to brand in the end.
C
Yeah, another one here out of that, that 59 cow. A little bit smaller than the brother. The younger, not quite as far along but just awesome to look at the feet and legs, muscle shape look to be so skinny and green. It just got. Has to really get you excited.
A
Yes sir. Well, lot 12 is next and this is going to be a yellow brindled up Brahmin. And this one is sired by Mr. VH996 over 7 the Vaquero on a Dakota Gold milkman female. This Brahman steer I feel as if reads to be a heavyweight at the end of the day I think his feet and legs can handle a push for to get him right for 12 o'. Clock. I think the calf's really really nice and built really good. What's your thoughts, Quantro?
B
Yes, sir. No, this one is actually another consigned calf. He's the local vet here in my town. His name's Donald Barnett and so his full brother last year I saw him, I didn't get a chance to buy him, but he was built very similar and he was one out everywhere he went. And I think this calf has way more shape and gets a little bigger than he does. So I think everything's there. Just feed him. Yeah.
C
One that appears to be a little on the greener side today, but I personally think that that's kind of where them Brahmin calves need to be as far as that goes today. But calf, you just study him. Walk around that pen. Just lots of crease and muscle shape, back shape awesome look. Feet and legs look great. Good calf.
A
Yes, sir. Well, 13 is next and this is it. Dog ears. Yeah, yeah. This calf goes back to the sired Dog Ears on a female. That's a Beefmaster Solid Gold, a Gert Prospect that I, I love his color, but more than that, I love the way and where his neck ties into the top side of his shoulder. He's opened up about the center portion of his body. His hip and hind leg is incredible. The posture to his hind leg is very, very unique. I think the calf at 12 o', clock, I, I truly think this cafe at San Anton, an absolute hammer. What's your thoughts?
B
Yeah, I think San Antone is perfect spot for him. This, this is one that truly probably never wows you in any way, but it is very, very hard to punch a hole in him. He's just structure, just everything about him is. He's just a solid kind of calf.
C
Yeah. One that, you know, you, I think you stated it perfectly, Quattro one just really hard to pick a hole and just a good solid calf. When you take to the majors down the road and when you leave your barn, you think, man, there. There's a real high probability that this cap does not come home with me. Just a real good red hided one there.
A
Yes, sir. Well, 14 is next. This can be a Simbra prospect out of the terrigator bull on a cabana bay hoodoo cow. I think the calf is extremely unique just in terms of his rib design and how expansive it is. Short backed, awesome hind legged calf. I think that could have a lot of future ahead of him. Got a nice hair coat as well for an individual to have fun with over the summer and fall.
B
Yeah, definitely had nice hair before I sheared him. This thing's back shape and turned to his rib is just about as high quality as you can get in one. And his color is one that's fun. That'll definitely get you recognized everywhere you go. And think. I think that thing's just built really, really nice.
C
Yeah. Studying the calf reads to be one that's going to be an easy feeding kind of calf. And you see the hoodoo on the bottom side of him there, and you got to think that. But I love the calf's color, love the calf's look. Moves around out there in that pen with just extreme comfort and athleticism. Love his angle from his hawk to. To the ground. Good calf with lots of shape and a bright Future.
A
Yes, sir. Well, 15 is next. And another Simbra prospect that's out of the painted red sire on a girt cow. I mean, I do like this thing's build. I think it's awesome. Looks like he had a soft hair coat before you slicked him off. But I always am drawn to baldy steers like that. Extremely proportional, extremely symmetrical from profile. What's your thoughts?
B
Yeah, this one's a shot skinny, and it might take him to Houston to get Houston or Austin to get where he needs to go. But, man, just his style and his. His look from the side, I think is hard to beat. And he's got good muscle shape for how skinny he truly is. And his color is such a deep, dark, pretty red. And he did have very, very, very soft hair that I'm not going to say it was Fort Worth length, but it would be fun to have him this fall. Going to a show.
C
Yeah. Look at that. Kev's picture. He just looks like an absolute show pony from. From the standstill and one that you. You take in the ring and you know you're going to get a look every time you go in just because of that presence. But then studying him on the move calf with a lot of great pieces that I think is going to be fun down the road.
A
Yes, sir. Well, 16 is next, and this is one you kept intact. He's going to be a Buster Brown, which is a purebred. Purebred beefmaster on the 42 female, which is a one size fits all and a high cotton sister. I think that one's extremely dense made, opened up. Has a lot of shape to him. What do you think he has to offer for anybody that wants to utilize him as a herd sire?
B
Yeah, I think this thing probably needs to stay a bull. He. I just don't think he's quite showy enough, but as far as the bull goes, there's nothing here in person. That thing is ridiculously how wide his hip and lower leg is. I mean he's just so packed full of muscle on the right set of cows. I think that thing could really work and click. Well, yeah.
C
One that's just got a tremendous amount of muscle shape from, from the, from his back, you know, through his rear quarter there. And lots of body, feet and legs look awesome. Lots of options as far as what she wanted to use him on and have that translate to a show calf or a female to put back in your pen down the road.
A
Yes, sir. Well, the last lot you have to offer is 17. This one, it goes back to being full sibs to multiple that we've talked about prior. This one's pretty special because he's left intact. And I think it's really hard to find an American bull that has that much character but can still provide an awesome hair coat to put in his progeny in the future as well. But that's a short backed, big hit bull that's got an awesome hind leg. He'll definitely be able to throw some color for sure. What's your thoughts?
B
Yeah, so he's actually got a shot of brindle in him too. And like you said, I think color options are pretty much endless on this thing. I do think he could go reading anywhere from exotics to Americans. I think he's got enough character to carry it on. He is the definition of a freak. I mean he's, he's out there on every aspect of his body. I mean it's, he's pretty unreal to be honest. Everybody. I don't think this bull goes out naturally. Covers 25 cows a day in his life. I think he's one that you kind of hand breed and collect semen on and, and, and breed that way. But I am keeping 50% semen rights and I should have DNA results by sale day.
C
Yeah, what a great way to end the sale. One that just hit me extremely hard and got my mind spinning on what opportunities and everything possible for future breeding piece here. Whether it be crossbred cows or, or half blood American cows. But one that looks like he's going to throw lots of color. Foot bone, muscle shape, body shape. Look, that one gets me really, really excited.
A
Yes, sir. Well, that ends out the lots in the. That you have to offer. Again I've stated this thing happens on SC on the 14th. Is there anything else that you'd like to add on before we end the preview, Quattro and Clayton.
B
No, I just want to thank y' all guys for the platform and the opportunity to talk about them and look forward to anybody who wants to come out. And if you have any questions, just give me a shout out.
C
Yeah. I appreciate Quattro coming on and discussing the Cavs with us. A really deep, versatile set. And like he said, don't hesitate to. To reach out to him with any questions you have. And Weston and I are here to do the same if anybody'd like to reach out to us as well. But thank you for coming on, thank you for taking the time, and thank you for. For believing what we have to offer here.
A
Absolutely. Completely agree. And with all this said, empowerment's here, and we'll see y' all next time.
