All right, we're back. But it's another preview for an online sale. Luckily, I've gotten the opportunity to get to know Madison and Mandy Fisher fairly well. They're people that are big in my life, but with all that said, they've got become to talk about Cody LaFrence here pretty often. And there's a heifer that he has sold to them in. In this last prior year that had tremendous success. And then I started digging into the sale of his upcoming more and more and more. And then Mandy was like, you got to get Cody on. We gotta. You gotta do a preview of his sale. So I called Cody and it just ended up working. And he was all in about it. He listened to Willie Weiss's and that one's been a big hit. A lot of people gravitated towards that. So with that said, Cody's here. We're gonna do a preview of his awesome online sale. From what I'm told, this is the first live sale one, correct?
B
Yes. Yep. This is the first live sale here we're gonna have. Have at the farm. So we're really excited to kind of about the change in that and. And to kind of see how it's kind of how kind of taken, I guess, by the industry and stuff. But we're certainly excited to. To kind of share that with everyone, so.
A
Absolutely. And so you have a viewing for people to see it on sc, correct?
B
Yes. Yeah. It is posted on SC to view only. There's the pictures and the videos there and. And contact numbers and stuff, and then is also posted on CCI Live. There's. There's the. The digital catalog form and then all the videos and. And all that stuff is. Is posted on there as well, so.
A
Awesome. Awesome. So with all that said, I guess if you want to talk to me a little bit just about your background and how you've built LaFrence cattle as a whole, just briefly. And then from there we can talk about the. The sale as a whole, the story of why you started briefly, and then we can go through all the sail lots.
B
Sure. Perfect. No, I. Yeah, I was actually born and raised actually in Saskatchewan, Canada. My family, I got an older brother by the name of Riley, and my mom and dad, the Vernon Denise La France, grew up raising Simital cattle. That's kind of always the. The main focus when we were in Canada by the name of Wheatland Cattle Company. My family there started a bull sale. Oh, I think they're working on about 25 years now and going strong. Started actually with, I think the first set of bulls they had was 15 and now they're selling about 70 and then probably about 20 or 30 or so private treaties. So it really grew to something in a high demand probably kind of where my brother and I really got very passionate about not so much show kettle I would say, but I would say more so just raising livestock and, and just you know, kind of real world fundamental cows. And that's kind of where my brother and I really got passionate about it and and so on and so forth. We grew up showing a little bit for sure. You know something there at B Agribition would have been our big show for the year which would be kind of, you know, considerable to kind of Denver kind of down here in. In the US that was kind of always our big one. And then kind of the bull sale was the end of March every year. Kind of fast forward I guess just a little bit. Ended up going down to Hutchinson Kansas on a livestock judging scholarship. I was there for two years actually. Met my wife while we were in junior college. We were on the same judging team the Shane Myers at the time. And then we actually both transferred to Kansas State and judged there for Chris Mullinix and we were there for a couple years there and then we left there and honestly the whole time my plan was to always return back home. I actually took a year off from college and graduated high school and actually kind of reversed just a little bit. But graduated high school I actually went down to Mark Kelly's in Texas and worked there for about eight months and just kind of wanted to kind of dive a little bit more into the show cattle thing and I always something I was very passionate about and, and really enjoyed and I thought Mark at the time for me just being kind of a little kid from Canada was as good as there was and always just enjoyed watching them and just how. How just talented that guy was and anyways kind of from there. So yeah, I was always gonna stay home and, and just kind of work for mom and dad and do that and. And then junior college come around. Graduated there, was gonna go home, went to K State. I was dating Shane at the time we went to K State, we graduated and was gonna go home and. And dating got pretty serious through college and we ended actually up at her her family's ranch in Thetford, Nebraska. Be the Hoffmans and. And I was up there for about four and a half years and enjoyed every minute of that. I can't thank them guys enough for. For kind of everything they did for Shane and I While we were there and it was just kind of at the time I just kind of. We wanted to kind of spread our own wings and try to kind of carve our own path in this, in this industry. So we, we decided to, to move to Pro Prague, Oklahoma. By honestly, it was just kind of the right place and the right piece of land and, and the money was just kind of where it kind of had to be too for the time. And so yeah, kind of long story short, we kind of planted roots here in Craig, Oklahoma and kind of started. Kind of started this LaFrance cattle. So that's kind of quick kind of background on kind of everything.
A
So. Well, sounds like you've had a lot of experience and it's worked. It's worked for you and, and I can tell in the sale for sure. With that said, you got a total of 8 Angus lots to start off. Is that correct?
B
Yes, sir. Yep.
A
Okay. And then four, four of them are out of that dignity bull and he's become really popular here lately. Not a bull that I had heard of in like the recent two years beforehand, but now he's just starting to kind of blow up and I see that a lot of people are using him. But talk to me about those eight lots of the Angus females. Sure.
B
So yeah, we start off there with lot one and two. They would actually be full sisters. I actually would have purchased those embryos from the EOS sale. They would kind of be I think pretty sought after genetics there on the. The Liz Ocal there, the 259 that would stem back to the RJ there out of South Dakota. That cow would have done a tremendous amount of success for them. You know, just had a heifer there. A percentage semitol that would have won for Sarah Sullivan most recently there too. There was oh Creighton warning one exorbitant and. And Kansas City last year with the main Angus. There's been a ton of. Of Lizzo progeny kind of throughout this fall kind of selling on a lot of different. Whether it'd be I think main Angus and Angus and. And kind of percent semi. So. So yeah, certainly, I think Ro. Certainly heifers that are very, very intriguing there. The lot one heifer is probably about as big and, and just, I don't know, burly I guess would maybe be the word you describe. I mean bone and foot and body shape is, is just tremendous and still got a kind of a neat and sweet look to her. You know, her sister there too. I would probably, you know, I'd probably label her more I guess as the show had for a little more just you know, intriguing there from the side in terms of just kind of her neck set and the way everything ties together. Just kind of her lower body balance and shape from behind is. Is very intriguing. I think you can honestly, you could probably have 10 people come out and five would side with one and five would side with the other. And I'm perfectly okay with it because I think they're both. Both very high quality to offer. So we're excited about those two and to kind of, kind of get us going in the right direction here in the Angus offering.
A
And then you got a Sarah's dream in Lot 3. And I've heard of her before because of John Fisher. Yeah, I don't know if that relates. I don't know if the same cow for sure. Tell me if I'm wrong but she's definitely the neat looking type from profile for sure.
B
Yeah. This fact, you know, for sure is kind of a sale highlight. She would actually be. So the executive decision would be a full brother to the Dignity bull. And so this heifer would be in blood. A full sister to the heifer that would have won junior nationals there for the Udell crew there at a Sioux City. So it goes back to the 1086 which would have sold there to Sarah Sullivan. That kind of record breaking their six hundred thousand dollar heifer. And that 1086 cow has. You know, this would be her second calf crop for you Dallas. But it's just hit out of the park I thought when I went to Udell's this spring, honestly when Mitchell and I were going over a few tag numbers and I kind of said that tag number. He said yeah, you can take her. And I kind of looked at him probably a little cross eyed like you're actually gonna let me load this one up. But I didn't, I didn't hesitate too much. We threw her on the trailer and I locked the door and drove as fast as I home could back to Prague. Certainly one I think is very unique just in terms of just look and presence is just incredible. And her kind of lower body balance and foot quality and shape of her toes are just so good and still reads with a nice shape and power from behind. Certainly one that I get, you know, very excited about. And one you kind of check several times throughout today to make sure she's. She's doing good and, and that. So no, that is one we're certainly.
A
Excited about is lot three and then lot four. Another Dignity.
B
Yeah.
A
Neat looking Looks to be extra flexible.
B
Yeah.
A
Talk to me about her. She's awesome.
B
Sure. Yeah. No kind of a may prospect here in the offering that certainly again really excited and you know when you come if you've ever kind of viewed the catalog especially back to three also just their head carriage and presence is so good. I think four's body shape for still as skinny and and youthful and green as she is is tremendous. They're just fore rib shape back there to stifle and hip is really good. Her structure and stuff is. Is very good. Again a lot of cow family behind her. The Paulson crew there out of Iowa would have owned her mother. That heifer would have did a lot of winning in division winning at the national level. Certainly a heifer that's a lot of cow family behind her. Presence and shape and structure is. Is really good. So nowhere really excited about her as well. They're the lot four female.
A
Yeah. And then lot five another dignity but looks like an on a Udell female black bird.
B
Yeah.
A
And ties into maybe your wife's side of things with Hoffman. Right?
B
Yep. Yeah. It would kind of stand back then there away. The 620 cow actually would have been raised there by Michael Harrell out of Illinois. He was sending some Angus there at the time when Jason was doing kind of a multi breed heifer sale in the Hereford and Angus and had a few scimitars and so they would have sold that one together. 620 would have won junior nationals that year for. For Maddie Udell and then her first calf there was this 24 carat and that calf would have brought I think 300000 in the Udell sale would have went on did a pile of winning for. For the free Fitzgerald and kind of Udell's there. Anyway so when I was actually out touring this summer I always stopping at freeze and and Tim for sure I was there and kind of look at some stuff and anyways this heifer kind of caught my eye. Just you know, big boned and beautiful in terms of her underline and and still reads with a nice shape and mash to her and just really sound and functional. Certainly that cow I thought was pretty unique there for the time and certainly seems to be breeding extremely well for them there in Indiana. So another kind of lot that we're very excited about as well.
A
Yeah. And then in Lot 6 I guess I wouldn't. Not directly but a more maternal looking female. She looks like super, super robust rib shape. Really clean in the shape to her head and neck. Talk to me about her.
B
Yeah. No, again, kind of a little different pedigree and. And stuff there. Especially on the cow side. Go back to Hill Valley reckoning. The cow actually would have won the Nebraska Cattleman's classic. Tim Fitzgerald was out there. He was kind of explaining the story to me and actually bought that she would have been a bread heifer at the time. Bought her there. Him and Joni actually own that cow and. And they've been kind of AI to do a little ET work on her. So this would be kind of a result of. Of that back to the clear cut bull that's had a lot of success there for Conley and. And kind of Lana Smith. That bull has done a tremendous job for those outfits as well. So no, certainly a heifer that's extremely kind of neat there in her head neck shape and one that's tremendous hair quality and just balance from the side and big bone and big square feet on her. So certainly a heifer that is. Is very intriguing as well to kind of offer to the Angus lineup.
A
For sure. Yeah. And then in Lot 7 looks like on the dame side. Your wife has definitely helped you in that situation because that cow looks really intriguing. That heifer got a lot of her pieces.
B
Yeah. No for sure that. Oh and I was still at Jason's. We had a flush of those refreshed daughters. Goes back to 41 44. We called that cow Shane. My wife actually would have showed 41:44. Heifer had just a little bit of attitude. Actually broke her pinky there in Denver as a calf. But a cow that probably actually cow got over centered one night and didn't end up making it. But a cow that was probably gone too soon. Those set of sisters were really. Well, actually the Van Z there in Iowa would have bought this. Heer's mother, that heifer would have. Oh she did a fair bit of winning and jackpots for rowdy would have been third overall at Kansas State Fair is a big heavy bread. They actually own that cow. And we actually sold the Mahogany prime and a Fallborn sale a few years ago for 22,000. This would have been the first Omegas out of that one and certainly did not disappoint. That cow always added just like bone and power and foot and certainly did that here with kind of a striking look and. And really not your typical Angus. Really bold and stout and. And cocky presence. So one that certainly a lot of cow family behind her and certainly one that we're very excited about as well.
A
For sure. Yeah. And then lot eight Female. It's out of that encore bull who I've seen quite a bit here recently. Different side on the. On the. On the dame side. But she looks intriguing as well. Just kind of like a brood cow in the making.
B
Yeah, for sure. For sure. One that's really kind of neat there in her presence and. And lots of bone and her feet are shaped really well and. And certainly one a lot of cow family behind her. That 230k would have been one that Braylon Schaefer from Indiana showed. I think she was reserve in the junior show at Oklahoma City as a baby calf. She ends up being fourth overall as a big heavy bread there in Louisville. A lot of cow family there. I know Tim Schaefer had a. Had a flush the sisters. I think he had some blacklist and some encore. I was lucky enough to get one of the encores from him. Certainly. Though the sisters have sold good here early in this fall and. And one that we're really excited about. The encore. Actually I have several other encores throughout the sale. Kind of in some different. Different pedigree standpoints, but certainly a bull that's been breeding very, very good here. So we're excited about to have her in the lineup as well.
A
Awesome. Well, that wraps up the Angus and so, yeah, now we can move into the. To the Charolays. There's two purebreds in a composite, but I think you did the right thing and started off with that Lot 9, the Outlier. I'll just say this real quick. If there's one char label that I could label the best generator in the past times, it has to be outlier. And I know people are probably going to disagree, but in terms of show heifer progeny and outstanding cows of the outlier just brings the best of them.
B
I would agree. Yeah, no, it's certainly a pedigree that needs no. No introduction to. To the Charolais kind of show industry. Certainly the Boyer Corps there crew there in Iowa have done a tremendous job and have had just a ton of success with. With this pedigree and I think this one certainly, you know, kind of holds there to the test of the pedigree. And I'm just going to say probably I'm not going to say raise the bar because there's been so many good ones out of that meeting. But she certainly doesn't. Doesn't bring the average down by any means. You know, I think for an April prospect to have that kind of shape and body and just dimension to her and still with a neat look and, and her structure is so good. Her blade and knee and they're the bend to her hind leg and hair quality is so good. She is one that we are very excited about and. And hopefully her new owners, you know, are excited as we are about her because I think she's got a ton of potential down the road. So absolutely very excited.
A
And then lot 10, it's a February born and I don't think I've seen a neater shape to her neck and refinement or head shape as this one, like that one's front end is just wicked to me.
B
Very. Yeah. She. She's very special to us. We actually had the pleasure of selling her full sister 2 years ago on our first sale here in Oklahoma. And Tim Anderson there in South Dakota and Austin and. And Paisley Mute Molar there in Minnesota actually owned that cow by the name of Phoebe. And they did a cool Dots and Cool Dot was a bull that birchies there in South Dakota would have showed in Louisville. He actually. But I think was reserve bowl that year in Louisville. And then anyways he was a little. I don't want to say, you know, it wasn't used just a whole bunch. And the first time I stopped at Tim's and saw what be Lot 10's full sister, we called her London. And I saw London as a baby calf and I just very unique for the time and. And for the Charolais breed. And anyways, kind of fast forward there, the heifer had a lot of success for the Bruns family out of Nebraska. And I went up there this summer and. And this one was there and. And I. I about fell over when I saw her. I thought she was as good as heifer as I've seen all year. And certainly she has. Hasn't really had a bad day since she's come to Oklahoma. She's certainly kind of a sale feature and standout for sure. So we're awfully excited about. About kind of lot 10 and lot 9. I think our Charlotte offering is not just huge in numbers, but I think our quality is very, very good. So we're excited about them for sure.
A
Yeah. And then Lot 11, obviously not a pure bred composite. She's another February born. Can you talk to me? Why she's a composite for one. And what you think about her in her future for sure.
B
Yeah. So actually they're kind of a full circle moment. So Lot 10 and Lot 11's dam were full sisters. Okay. So when we were actually getting London, we called her ready that summer and I would have AI'd her and of course she didn't stick. So I was a little upset that day. And honestly we have just a nice little Angus cleanup bowl and I actually just threw her out there with. I'm just like I want you heavy bread for Cattleman's Congress, you know, and to go and I want to make sure you're passed over when we go to junior Nationals. I don't want you to like come into heat or something stupid happened there. And. And the idea was always to have London heavy bread for Oklahoma City. That was always kind of our main goal and target and. And anyways, so yeah, she got bred to just our Angus cleanup bowl and. And when this calf come out, it was always pretty nice and weaning come around and she kind of kept coming and then she just has lived up to every. Everything that kind of her mother was just kind of a different sire. I'm not gonna take credit saying we thought long and hard about the breeding decision, but sometimes we get lucky and. And here we are. So I think for a Charlotte composite heifer to read just so maternal and smooth and long and extended about her muscle pattern and look and her just structure and lower body cavity is really good and certainly one that I think within her, you know, contemporary groups within the composite industry is very unique and. And could certainly kind of raise the bar and hold her own in the composite show for sure. So certainly not going to take credit for the breeding decision, but it works. We're gonna. We're gonna try it. So awesome. Yeah.
A
Then you kind of get into the keys.
B
Yeah.
A
You start off with lot 12 and end. God. And I'm just gonna be honest with you, Cody. I've grown up with the American side of things. Majority of. Of my show career, lifetime in the cattle world. But this one kind of fires me up. And I know that there's gonna be some clubby guys listening to this. All I gotta say is if you don't bid on this one, you ain't doing the right thing. I think she's just flat, intriguing, very unique.
B
Yeah. You know, deep kind of orange colored structure is incredible. And just body shape and bold and stout and. And she's still like so extended and. And good looking. Kind of just one of those deals kind of stumbled across. Her actually kind of was way down in South Texas actually along the Mexican border. And actually had the pair just get sent up because then there in late April, May, it was so hot down there. And I just, I thought, you know, heifer always had a lot of Intriguing pieces. So sent the pair up here to Oklahoma and we weaned her and sent the cow back to them guys and. And certainly this heifer has had just cranked it on. I mean for just hair and bone and body and look and. And you know, the bottom side of that pedigree is awfully intriguing. It goes back to a broker macho cow. So just very unique and intriguing. I think she's got a lot of upside she can show as a low key. You know, I think she's very competitive in there and. And certainly could maybe even go a little farther. But I just think from a mating flexibility standpoint and just generating potential I think is very unique and a lot of fun. So.
A
Absolutely, for sure. Well then you switch it up a little bit. A little from what it reads hierarchy in Lot 13. Am I correct on that?
B
And yeah, yep.
A
Reads to be just brood cow fundamentals. Just thick, thick, thick female.
B
Very. Yeah. Actually I have for that would actually be a Huda boss, which would be a son of Huda man. And then actually the cow actually would be a full sister to RJ's lady killer. So in terms of pedigree and stuff, it is very royal, I feel like. And. And something that I think a lot of people should kind of tune into even just, you know, I think she shows very well, but I just think mating potential. I mean there's not many places you can go get a Huda man granddaughter back to broker Harriet on the bottom side. So one certainly excited about. I mean God, just presence and arrogance about her and I mean bone and muscle and body is just incredible. Hair is very good too. I think she honestly, I'm not much of a club calf guy, but she looks like a straw of kind of how great the art away from. From raising something that could be very, very fun. So yeah, very excited for sure. Very excited.
A
Then lot 14. You got a 24 carat on this. Who's playing? I've never heard of, but I've definitely seen a lot of 24 carats here recently and I fall in love with them more and more and more.
B
Yeah, for sure. You know, 24 caribou has certainly kind of written a book there for the Angus show heifer side of things. And he's kind of trickled into some key and lymph flex stuff and even percentage scimitols that have been very lucrative and very sought after. Certainly the cow family here. The who's playing cow for Tim Schaefer again. She would have actually been the dam of Tim Schaefer's. High selling key heifer last year that would have sold for 200,000. That cow has done a tremendous job. Actually my high selling key heifer last year was out of the same cow as as this one as well and certainly I have for that again presence and and muscle and body shape is really good. Bone and structure is really good. Her attitude is just phenomenal for a first time showman as well Harry and and certainly one that yeah just kind of hits you with a really good show heifer look. I think she could do a lot of good stuff and and certainly excited for her new home to go out and and show her and kind of I think you can get a lot of miles out of this one by just her structure and look and presence.
A
So yes sir for sure. And then arguably probably the highest key that you got in here the paint heer end to end never heard of the bull but obviously he did a good job because this female's got all the right pieces.
B
Yeah actually was kind of oh actually Ryan Dunklaw and and Crystal there and Wayne Nebraska. I've always got along good with them people and and I've always just enjoyed their cattle and and looking at them and stuff and I think Duncan and his family have campaigned probably some of the best key main genetics I've seen and I don't it's one of those breeds that I don't maybe focus on as much but I just I enjoy having them and selling them. I the market's there and stuff so I always kind of swing by dunks and and try to grab a few cash from them and and yeah I think this year he he treated me really well. We're very excited about about this key half for not only just her quality but just how high percent key she is is you know especially you know in today's times and stuff to be that high percent key and still have that much as bone and muscle and still good bodied and her structure is really good is is very unique and the end to end bowl was one he said actually use that bull a little bit. They took him to study wasn't really freezing semen. He actually went home and I think maybe a thunderstorm got him or something so there's very limited semen on them so they didn't get just a whole lot. And then the Bianca cow there would have been one of Hadley's first show heifers. She would have won the I want to say the key show there in Denver and Louisville and and that cow has certainly been a Big time generator for Dunk Cattle company there certainly have her a little more chrome to her and stuff but her white kind of works with her. It's not one of those ones where it really works against her by any means and, and certainly one that. Yeah. Very excited about her. Just her like we talked about for bone and muscle and look and to be that high percent key and. And have you know that kind of body shape and structural build is. Is very unique and, and very exciting. So we're very excited about that helper for sure.
A
Yeah. Completely agree. So now we kind of get into the maintainers and mains and such and I don't think you really could have started off better with a good blaze faced like this heer in Lot 16. I mean just looks so freaking cool from profile. And her color helps her too. Like her added white feature, it's just very.
B
Yeah, yeah. It's kind of one of those ones again where the color really doesn't. I'm not just big on that kind of splashed up stuff but if it works and, and I know people like it then I'm. I'm good to roll with it. And this one again it doesn't really hurt her at all and and I think it just kind of highlights kind of honestly how kind of big bone she is and her presence and look to her is really good. Good as it gets. Again I, I don't know much about the club calf world but seems like them daughters are pretty sought after. That cow there has been very good for Dunk again in terms of generating on you know the top and bottom side there is very unique and she is one just lots of presence bone. She is so three dimensional from front to rear view and just rib cage and body shape is good and, and very muscular and stout and again I'm not gonna you know go on a limb and say like she's really market heifery but she's the type. I feel like show is really good in the maintainer as a breeding heifer. But I would be you know excited to kind of. I'd push the envelope on her and try her to a few club capables because I think she could generate it. She's got the build and muscle and and presence to kind of go ahead and. And I think do that. So certainly an excited lot there for sure.
A
For sure. Her on like a say no more would work really cool. I think a van hose. I think that'd be really neat.
B
Yeah for sure.
A
Okay. And then lot 17 another maintainer low key situation and she's out of the Memphis mafia, but you have another one and they're not full sibs, but they're half sibs. From what it reads just the same sire but completely opposite females. But the 17 just reads with a little more presence arrogance about her.
B
Sure. Yeah. No 17I. In terms of pedigree and stuff, it is very good that 300 cow there for. For Charlie Wilson there in Iowa has, has done a tremendous job that this heifer's mother would have won I think the maintainer junior nationals there in 19. She has been just a tremendous producer and has raised a lot of. Of high selling cattle and champions. Certainly I want to think again that holds. Holds pretty true to a pedigree and stuff in terms of look and power and bone. Certainly does a lot of things right. So I think that heifer, you know, I think a year from now getting ready for Kansas City Louisville, I think that heifer could. She gets to the right home and does the right things. I think that effort could. Could be very, very tough to get around and and hear a year's time. So certainly one again I think to kind of keep the maintainer, you know, sector of the sale. Very high quality. She certainly kind of brings the bar another notch higher for us. So we're very excited.
A
Yeah. And then 18 the same sire, but she's a main Angus.
B
Yeah.
A
And she is also an April born, so she's about a month younger. Still reads with tremendous quality.
B
Yeah, very I think heifer that has honestly when she first come in till now has just I mean raised the bar and has done it very, very high that that 016 age cow actually would have been. She would have raised the fifth overall half for this year at the same junior Nationals. I think this heifer's full sister won the champion AOB at the Illinois State Fair. So certainly I think that cow has really kicked it off and get run in there for minute out of Illinois actually this would have been embryo purchase actually. Jason and Jacob Gall out of out of Nebraska would have raised this heifer. And I always get some main influence kind of genetics from them and and certainly this heifer was one that stood out there when I was on my travels this summer. Just presence and hair and so maternal. Just depth of body and flank is so good. Still reads with a nice shape and, and just just rib and you know dimension to her and her structure is really good. She's the main Angus and she'll actually go low key as well. So kind of a dual registered actually all three of those 16, 17 and 18 are dual registered heifers. They'll all maintain or main Angus and then low key on all three of them as well. So another lot that very excited about for sure.
A
Yeah. Then a high main here in Lot 19 and she's out of that all me from Willie Weiss. Obviously we just did a preview with him, but that bull has been knocking it out of the park.
B
Yeah. Yeah. Very good that bull. Again, I don't know much about the main on you kind of cattle, but I feel like if you kind of don't know all me, you're probably living under a rock. For the past five years that bull has just hit it out of the park and and certainly this heifer I think kind of kind of does a lot of things right. And her full sister there. For Kelton Arthur to won the prospects last year in Denver. Just tremendous in terms of presence and bone and power and body. You know for a high main female to. To kind of check so many boxes, I think is very good. Certainly something we're very excited about. The. The Senate's there out of Indiana there would have raised her. Actually was on my travels and I text Tucker Slift and see if he was around and he said come on over and. And saw her there and kind of knew I kind of had to have her to keep the. Keep the high main deal. Pretty. Pretty impressive here in Prague. So. No, she certainly is something we're very excited about.
A
Awesome.
B
Yeah.
A
And speaking of Kelton Arthur, we're. Anybody listening? We're recording this on the day of the American Royal Steer Show. Kelton had pretty good day from what it looked like.
B
So very good.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
We'll see how that goes tomorrow in the grand drive. Scott Shock. He did a good job for sure. So next we got another high main lot and from this one's head, neck and features just out there and the bull she definitely. I see the bull's picture. She inherited a lot of his indicative pieces for sure.
B
Yeah. No. Another heifer that again don't have many high main females, but I think the two we have offering are. Are certainly can. Can stand some competition. An April Braun prospect here that has a ton of just upside potential and just one every day you go out there to feed or you have her on the wash rack is just better and better every day. And Keegan Moon and actually from Glencoe, Oklahoma would erase this heifer. Stopped in there a few times, kind of looked at some cattle with him and was fortunate enough to get this one to sell from him. Certainly Keegan has a really good main on juke cal cow base there and has had tremendous amount of success raising and showing and selling main on Jew and key influence cattle. And. And this heifer certainly does just a lot of things right. Just presence and her structure is so good. Her blade, knee and hip and hind leg and lower body shape is very, very good. So I think she's one that just gets better every time or, you know, every day. And certainly one, I think for, you know, next summer and into the fall could be. Could be one that guys sleep on a little bit and, and kind of maybe, you know, could turn some heads here as we kind of go. Go later into the year. But really high quality, very, very good. Very excited about. About both these high main females were offered on the 26th of October for sure.
A
Yeah. And then so another main angus in Lot 21. It's kind of a discussion that me and Willie had over the phone. These main Anguses are the best of both worlds. They offer stoutness of feature and still look pretty and neat. And I think this one combines that really, really well.
B
Very. Yeah. Another one actually that would have come from Keegan Moon and. And I mean just cow power. I mean, she is so good and true in her fore rib and rib cage. Her structure is so good and her just mass from behind. I mean, you look at her from every angle and she is just opened up and pulled apart. Got a neat look to her too. I think she's one that, you know, shows nice. I think she's a generator just in terms of just having that much dimension and shape. Her structure and feet quality is really good. You know, the blacklist thing has been very good here on the. On the Angus side of things. And the epic back in the main side has been just tremendous there for especially the Buck crew there at Medill. There's been a lot of good epic candle coming of there. So certainly another one that I think kind of brings a lot of quality to the table.
A
Yep, for sure. And then you switch it up big time. Like full 360 with lot 22, shorthorn plus. Where'd she come from? What'd you do? What. What happened, man?
B
Yeah, it actually, Tim Anderson would have bought these embryos. I think he got them from Embers on Snow. And when I was there looking at the charolays, she was just something about her and. And I've never sold a shorthorn ever before and I just pedigree again. I don't know much about shorthorns, but I've always Heard about the lady crystal thing and obviously the casino there in the Angus side. I was just. Honestly, I kind of thought to myself on the way home, I've probably been in worse deals, so I'm gonna give it a try and see what we can make of it. So certainly a heifer, honestly, I think is very good. And I tell my wife all the time, I said, honestly, if we had a, if we had a kid old enough to show, I think I'd maybe keep this one back and gamble on it because I think she is very, very intriguing for a shorthorn plus to have that kind of bone and body and shape and her hair is really, really good and just her presence about her is so good. Again, pedigree, I think is awfully, awfully good. And. And she just does a lot of things right. I. I don't know. She's just different for a shorthorn plus, I just think she's got a little more bone and just kind of just shape and, and just body to her. So no, certainly first time ever offering one of these, but certainly to only have one of them, I think she certainly raises the bar quite high. So we're very excited for our shorthorn plus division this year.
A
Definitely an attention getter for sure.
B
For sure. Yeah. I'm all about diversity, so we're going.
A
To try anything for sure. And then so next you got three Herefords, you got a, let me think here, two pulled and then a horned. Am I correct on that? Okay, for sure. Yeah. And then you start off with a marksman. I'll be real blunt and honest. I, I watched the bar, a cattle online sale that they had here recently and I seen several marksman daughters and they just continue to impress me in terms of their feature foot size and shape.
B
For sure. Yeah. No, I think the marksman bull has done a tremendous job for the breed and, and certainly, you know, it's kind of one of those things you just keep going back to him because he works and just countless high sellers and for sure and kind of countless champions to kind of. To boot. The Cal family behind this one is awfully good. You know, the Norvell there down or in Oklahoma here has had just a tremendous amount of success with 001 daughters. I think they would have won Tulsa last year. They would have won the bread, a reserve in the bread known Scott couple years ago when the Junior national was in Wisconsin. What I won Oklahoma City with that same Heer though that following winter. So a lot of potential here. I think this Heer is, is very High quality one that just reads with so much shape and power and presence and bone and and you know, dark red to boot and and certainly one that very excited about here for the Hereford offering to get started.
A
Yeah, for sure. And then you kind of got a, I guess not as loud marked in lot 24. Looks like, looks like she had a lot of success in her pedigree. Talk to me about a lot.
B
Yeah. No, again another really good pulled Hereford here and and goes back to the high roller bull that's had a lot of success certainly again a lot of champions and high sellers that bull has sired. And actually this heer's mother would be the same mother be a maternal sister to one that Ella Weldon would have won Junior Nationals with that Euros in Wisconsin would have been and 23 again a really just tremendous bone and and honestly her structure about I would say is about as good as anything in the sale and body shape is good and muscle is good and presence is really good and really conservative there in her color. When you get her head peeled after a fresh shave. She's got freckles on her head and really good eye pigment and got a little ring around her eye there. So no, certainly one that is, is no slouch really kind of I think for having the two pulled Herefords here is, is very intriguing and and kind of bring the bar up pretty high. So very excited about them.
A
Yeah. And then lot 25 you got a horned Hereford and looks like she's goggle eyed and I think that's, I like goggle eyed ones I think for sure. Talk to him about her pedigree. I don't know her for pedigrees as well as I should probably but she looks intriguing.
B
Very. Yeah. And honestly for someone who's been in, you know was around Hereford cattle for almost five years, I should probably know a little more. And this one's pretty outcross for me. I, I, you know the, the jet smooth deal there. That bull would have won Congress in 24 for buck and actually their Ella Weldon and Zach Weldon and Kelly, they actually would have bought into that bull, I'm pretty sure and, and used him pretty heavily and and their kind of Hereford program there. This heifer's mother would have won the Junior Reserve at Cattleman's Congress in 24 and just I think for a horned Hereford to be that smooth and just elegant and refined there of her head and neck and still to open up to a big rib cage and bone and hair quality and just levelness and squareness of hip is awfully intriguing. I actually had the the pleasure to go over to Weldon to kind of go through some of their calves and they certainly didn't hold anything back. When I actually kind of talked to Zach before I left about this one, he. He actually was on board of me letting her take her. I was a little worried he might keep her for a bread known but he said you know, we gotta. We gotta let the good ones go. So this is certainly one that very excited about. Rednecked and goggle eyed and dark red and. And certainly I think for a horned her for a chill she'll give them all they got. She is very unique and certainly one we are. I'm very excited about it. I think she's got a lot of upside potential and just one every day go to feed kind of like that lot 20 high main. Just every day you go out there just gets better and better. So I just. I don't see her ever really having a bad day from here on out. Just every day is just good. So no, she's very exciting.
A
Awesome. Awesome. Well then you got this red Angus. I was told to be careful what I say on this one because there's specific someone in himself Texas. And I'm like shaking in my pants like what do you want me to say? So I'm not gonna say anything. You can say something about her.
B
Honestly. Kind of one of those deals. I just kind of stumbled across her. I was actually up in western Nebraska at a place looking at some cattle there at Scott and Fletcher Larson's and this J.D. kerwin who actually would kind of work part time for Scott. There's kind of looking after cows and stuff. He said I was leaving there and he said hey, which direction you going? And I said I'm heading east. And he said you're gonna go right by my place. You want to stop looking at some Red Angus? And I said yeah, no, I got actually had a little extra time on my hands that day and I JD when I was used to live in Thetford was kind of we're about the same age and he was always a really good guy and. And so no, I enjoyed kind of going through his cows that afternoon and and I think he's actually starting to have a bull sale up there and stuff this spring. So make sure you check him out because when we kind of run through his calves I thought there was some really good Hertz our prospects in there and we're kind of getting down on the tour and. And this heifer kind of come out behind the reset cow. And I was like, what is that? Red Angus. She from kind of a semitol background and being raised in Canada. I was like, man, that thing looks like a red sematole. And I am Holly. And she come out from behind that cow. And I looked at him and I said, what are you doing with her? And he said, you can have her. And I said, plan on having her ready for the end of July because I'm coming back for the trailer. So it honestly, the Hollywood. I don't know much about the Red Angus. The Hollywood bowl is something that sold there. I think this is the second calf crop. What the sire brought 400,000. The cow, the 6h there is. Has been very good for the C bar team. They're out of Kansas. I don't know much about the pedigree, to be honest with you. I think the heifer is extremely high quality. It's hard to find. I feel like Red Angus that have, you know, just that kind of head and neck and the way it all ties in. And I mean, she opens up and is one just dance and stout and big bone. And her feet, when you're on the wash rack on the. Just the rubber mats, I mean they're as good as depth of heel and shape of foot and toe. And in the build and assembly of everything from her hoof all the way to her hip is I. I honestly, I'd put it up against anything in the sale. It is so good. And to have that kind of actually sheer shape and power. I mean, this heifer gets me. You can tell the way I talk about her. I get pretty fired up for. For the breed. And I just think she's just tremendous in so many areas and just looks like she'd show tremendous. And I just think donor cow and generating potential is incredible. So certainly agreed one red Angus in the offering. But again, we're just nothing quality. No. Yeah, we're. If we're gonna sell one, we're gonna try to offer the best one we can.
A
So. For sure. Absolutely. Well, then you got a lot of. You got a lot of cementoles we got to go over. But to. To start off with the blaze face, I mean, fresh haired read. Super, super agile, good body shape. Just awesome friend, it looks like. And you got a lot of these Haley daughters. And funny enough, my sister's name is Haley, so I think that's kind of funny. That's just irre. Anyway, a lot of these Haley daughters and looks like you've paired up with Udell on quite A few, quite a.
B
Few of this stuff. Yeah. Actually that, so that little background there, we call that cow 5k. 5k would have been shown by Brady Edge. I think she was fifth overall that summer at the Junior National. She would have won the open Iowa State Fair semital show. She goes on that winner and she wins Kansas City, she wins Louisville and she's reserving Denver. And I was actually fortunate enough to get in on that cow and certainly, you know something I, I do not regret one bit. That cow on her first set of ET calves here for me on three different sires has totally just hit it out of the park. A lot of cow family there behind that deal too. And actually 5K's mother there, the original Haley, what a triple crowned one there for Udell and. And Toby Noble out of Canada actually. So a lot of cow family there. First up are these two flush sisters that are broker and it's certainly, certainly one that since birth have just stood out tremendously. And you know, to start off with the 27, I mean stout and still cocky looking and tremendous body and structure and build is so good. I would put her up about anything from the rear view. She is an absolute Mack truck from behind and her joint work and feet are good and how flexible she still is. You know, it's hard to make cattle that are that stout and, and you know, opened up in the, you know, the rib shape and fore ribbon. She is so neat and tidy and thin at the top of her blade. Still I think that heifer is just generating potential. She, you know there's generational cow family there in terms of dollars figures. So if she can do half is what her mother and grandmother have. I would say you're gonna, you'd have to open up another bank account because it's. I think it could be really, really good, you know. And then her sister There in 28 is, is one that we're very high on here in the purebred offering. I think whether you want to, you know, show at any level and I think at the highest level she can compete at and, and I just think in terms of just you know, for kind of old school pedigree there them brokers, you know, but I don't know, it is hard to beat a broker. And those cows in production are so good and, and just utter quality and feature so good on those cattle and, and she is smooth and long and you know her flexibility is incredible and to have that much length and still be that good bodied and, and have that much power from behind, I Mean I think for a purebred Scimitl she is very unique and, and I even think in out of breed setting if you're lucky enough to get out of your breed, I think she would turn a lot of heads and, and stuff. So those two we've been you know, since birth, since they come out of the receipts, we've been very excited about them. So certainly two sale features here on the 26th.
A
Yeah, for sure. And then lot 29 same, same dame. But you decided to go with her on trust fund of RJ's as well. One, why'd you do that? Two, it worked really well. The marking on her face is even more intriguing. I've never seen that type of marking.
B
No, it's very neat how, how it kind of come out there and certainly 29 and, and 30 or both full sisters obviously and both very unique but still kind of different in their own type and kind as you can kind of tell by the pictures there a little bit and go the trust fund bullet. It just kind of made sense. Past EOS high selling bull and again bankroll has done a tremendous job for the, for the you know, semital breed and even kind of back into, you know, kind of seed stock side of the things too. There's been a lot of good bankroll bread heifers and a lot of good bankroll bulls sell over the years and, and again back on the broker Harrietta cow family there's certainly something, you know, I, I like cow families and I think you stack two really good cow families in there and certain you get these two heifers that are kind of hold up to kind of what the expectations were and, and certainly 29 again I think for, for you know just her shape there of her head and just the color on her head and, and her kind of body and, and mass and bone and hair is very good. I, I effort I like quite a bit. She was actually born in a co op herd up in Montana and I was a little worried about Calvin out of Montana and coming down to Oklahoma but man they have them guys up there did a tremendous job raising them and, and they come down and I mean did not miss a beat and I was actually gone actually. I think that was the day I was coming back from Udell's and, and then my wife unloaded that truck and I got home and went down to the pen for feeding and this heifer walked out of the barn and it was coming to the bunk and I asked my wife, I said what's that one? She's like that's what that trust fund I told you about. And I was like, man, if that ever keeps coming along. And she has. I think that one's very excited here to offer her kind of lead off the trust fund side of things out of the 5k cap. So certainly one that we are very proud to offer here in the sale. So.
A
Absolutely. Yeah. Then you got her full sister in 30. Not necessarily super different, but I think she offers just as much quality in a different kind of package.
B
For sure. Yeah. Another sister and you know, arguably probably from behind pog reads a little stouter and even a little bolder there up high in her shape. Both heifers are just tremendous bone and structured. She's got a neat blaze face to her there too. And it's certainly elegant and refined for having that much shape. Again, another heifer. I think that, you know, an April prospect can certainly, you know, I think just every day gets better and better and certainly one I think come. Come junior national time and through the fall, I think could be very, you know, I think someone could look very smart getting her bot and. And you know, managing her right. I think that effort could be. Be a lot of fun down the road and stuff. I think both them in terms of, you know, roi after you take the show halter off and kind of get down to it and make it some money after, you know, I think both of them have. Have a lot of upside for that. So for sure certainly two or again really excited about.
A
Yep. And then lot 31, same cow, different bull. Talk to me about the bull because I never heard of the bull again. I'm not a heifer person. It's evident that I'm a steer person in the club calf world. But why'd you decide to take this bull on that cow again? And then I mean, obviously it worked because this heifer is super arrogant and presence, body shape, stoutness of feature reads to be super flexible. All the great stuff.
B
Yeah. No, again, another kind of Boulder. The Woodful or Woodford Boulder for JS's that Iowa. He would have won the Cementol percentage show there in Louisville. And I just thought, you know, for his build and the things he kind of brought to the table, the things that 5K kind of brought to the table. I just. It's one of those meetings in your head you think it's gonna work and certainly it did. And you know, that bowl where, you know, was just so smooth and just bone and just cocky and arrogant, you know, and certainly he transmitted that into this heifer I mean it's hard to make, you know, any breed or species. I feel like to be that massive and rib and, and shape from behind and to be that kind of neat little, kind of cute headed and cocky necked is, is very good. She is one that again, I think like donor quality and raising stuff is tremendous. I think you could take her to so many different ways, whether it be three quarter blood or half blood simmental bulls or even Angus to make percentages or you know, I wouldn't even be scared to take her to some mains to make some dual registered stuff. I think, you know, she showed tremendous but I think kind of ROI at the end of the day I think she could be as good a generator as we offer on the 26th to, to make money. So certainly again, again we talked about that cow before just for three sires at her first ET Calf drop has been tremendous. So certainly excited here as we kind of move forward in our program to, to offer more 5k progeny and stuff. So very excited about all, all them daughters.
A
And then in the purebreds of the purebreds you have three cans of daughters. Am I correct on that? And then they're all. I don't. I'd have to. You have two full sibs, right? And then another different type and kind or another sire. Okay.
B
Yeah.
A
So talk to me about the full sibs and the differences between them and 33 and 34.
B
Yeah. So 33 and 34 would be both out of the popular next level bull there of, of the Boyer course. Certainly has done a tremendous job here across a variety of breeds and stuff. And, and that Kansa cow, just to touch on her a little bit, she originated from Udell's. She was a profit broker cow. That cow, Fletcher Larson would have showed. She would have been 8th overall I think in oh boy, 18 or 197 told junior nationals the year was in Louisville and that cow has just flat out generated for them. I go up there every year and I get a handful of cans of daughters and that cow has done just a tremendous job for them and raising, you know, percentage scimitars and, and purebred scimitars. Actually there would have been, oh, a maternal sister to these that Kennedy family in Oklahoma would have showed. She would have won her division at Oklahoma City both days. She would have been reserved scimitar at OIE this past year. That heifer would have been a copacetic. That cow has done a tremendous job that 40F. And these two heifers again are a little different type and Kind I'd say, you know, the solid black one is just presence and arrogance about her and shape and bone is really good. Her structure is really, really good. I think a heifer that honestly probably just needs to get another 90 degree heat a little bit and just maybe get a little more hair. And I think that one I think could be really fun to show and she certainly has all the qualities that her mother and. And kind of past maternal sisters have had. Just needs just to kind of get some cooler weather and kind of fuzz up a little more. 34 there again, kind of a neat blaze face on or one that probably hits you is a little more kind of cowie in her build. Just so soft and so loose built. In terms of her structure, I don't know if she's quite as massive and. And you know, in terms of her shape and there to her upper rib as her sister. I think though her probably just mobility and stuff is so good and the way she ties in and got a neat blaze face to boot. So I think both of those heifers are very good. I think they offer some differences and kind of for discussion. I think both of them can compete at a very high level. Certainly two that very excited about.
A
And then lot 35, half blood, semi half blood Angus out of the same cow on. On that encore bull.
B
Yeah.
A
Funny enough, this is one of Madison's favorites. She's gone on and on and on about this one and I can definitely see why. And I've watched your video multiple times. This one's. This one's intriguing.
B
Very. Yeah, this is kind of one of those ones where you actually I had a full or not a full a half sister to her a few years ago would have been our high selling heifer calf and our sale there two years ago when we moved to Oklahoma and the free family out of Indiana would have bought her. She would have been reserved at Oklahoma City in the percentage open show. And I would say what, you know, what her sister did and what this one did are so much alike. And this effort is just one of those ones. It was no different than when I saw her half sister. I called my wife right away and. And I just say I think I found the one. You know, this is the one that's, you know, I think brings people to the place and you want to look at her and kind of get a little chatter going and. And this heifer has lived up to every expectation. I mean you talk about presence and just body shape and power and I mean her structure, her blade and Knee and her mobility of her hind leg is so good. Again, encore has done a tremendous job. And that Kanza cow has certainly lived up to the hype of, you know, raising elite percentage scimitars and, and just. Yeah, tremendous. Certainly one obviously as you can, the way I talk is very, very excited about, certainly excited to see kind of where she ends up and what she can do and excited to kind of follow her around. So I think with that one big, with confidence her sister knocked it out of the park and. And certainly we think this one has a lot of potential as we kind of move forward.
A
So. And so you got another half blood, semi, half blood Angus, same cow but now at 24 carat. And yeah, this one just super brood cow bill. Bold, very natural thickness, has the still look and quality. But I just think her density is, is all there.
B
Very good. Yeah. No, again, this would actually be a full sister to the free heifer there that would have been reserved in Oklahoma City. Again, a lot of things like her sister had, you know, in terms of just body shape and, and just presence and look about her and, and her structure is really good, you know, for an April prospect. I think she's got a lot of upside. She's one that again, we've kind of cooled off just a little bit. She's really starting to put the hair on and stuff and I think that effort could be a little bit of a sleeper. And I know people that have coming through here a bit later. If you come through a little early, you maybe would have missed her. Now people are coming through and they're kind of starring her, putting two stars beside her. I think that heifer's got a lot of upside to her and just again, bone and body and shape. And if you're listening and you're a first time showman or wanting something, she is tremendously, you know, gentle and will do anything you want her to. So she is one that's, you know, you know, kind of any young inhibitor looking to show one. But I mean she's got the quality to, to play at the national level. So certainly again, a lot of cow family in that Kansas deal that cow has never really missed. So, you know, the Larson family there in Valentine, Nebraska has done just a tremendous job and has treated Shane and I very well on being able to market those genetics.
A
Awesome, awesome. Well then of the remaining lots, there's a lot of differences in diversity in terms of their genetic script, but I think there's nothing short of generational upside. I think it's a great way to start with, the 37 female being a that out of that Conley bull. A1, I've heard of him a couple times. I think he's a super, super cool looking bull that puts a lot of pieces into heifers. Pretty evident in this Lot 37.
B
Very. Yeah. And I think the A1 deal is really gonna gain a lot of steam here moving forward. Actually saw the bull in person a few years ago and, and I thought he was just tremendous down at Kyle's and, and that was kind of the reason we did that, actually. 37, 38 and 39 are all maternal sisters out of three different sires. That'd be a cow I would have purchased quite a few years back. She's a relentless back to a derby girl. And again, a lot of cow family back in them and, and certainly this 37, I mean, in terms of just having, you know, so much presence and bone and body shape is very, very good. That cow has done a really good job for us. Actually have a couple coping with destiny bull calves there that will sell later this year that we're very excited about. So that cow had four different sires and we were fortunate enough to get a few bulls into the deal too. So I think a lot of promise there in that cow family. But yeah, 37, you know, bone and shape and presence and, and stuff is very, very good. So very excited about. About her and her sisters here as we kind of move forward.
A
Awesome. Awesome. Well, then lot 38 looks like to be the same dame but on next level. And looks like that worked really, really well too. Looks like she's got a lot of winners back from 2014.
B
Yeah, no, a lot of, kind of like we talked about before, a lot of pedigree behind her and adding next level certainly kind of elevated the cow family side of things. And actually I kept a baldy one back just as a replacement heifer. I thought, I thought I've got to be stupid to sell both of them. So I kept one back and I thought this one was probably the showier one in terms of her head carriage and throat latch and, and big bone and awesome structured one that got, you know, reads with a nice shape and stuff to her again. I think that one just gets better every day. And I think, you know, kind of a year from now or through the summer, I think she could be a lot of fun and, and certainly one that a guy could. Could look pretty smart buying here kind of October 26th as you kind of progress forward. So very excited about her.
A
And then another purebred but same cow, but on trust fund. And I think that works really well because you got a baldy that has all the right character and body shape, foot size, and looks to be extra flexible. Her hind leg has a lot of set to it. It looks very, very agile.
B
Yeah, very good. And this was kind of a mating I was, you know, very excited about and. And I went to that co op her this summer and to kind of look at these ones and this one just has always kind of stood out and. And, you know, just so elegant and got a big old baldy head on her and tons of body and inner structure is so good that that trust fund bull, I think, has done a tremendous job. And, you know, the stuff I've seen or even the stuff that I've had, I'm happy with. I'm actually used a bunch of them here kind of moving forward. And I think this heifer does a lot of good, certainly for a February prospect. One that's, you know, got so much dimension and power. And certainly her flexibility, I think will always kind of allow her to rise to the top of a class and. And even go a little farther. Her hair quality is good. And. And again, that 9209 cow is certainly something we. We've kind of focused pretty hard around here on and. And I think that cow is kind of off and running here pretty good. So, you know, we're very excited about all three of those sisters.
A
So.
B
Yep.
A
And then lot 40, you got a so remedy. And then on Weiss's Ms. Rudy. So is this cow one you own or was this an embryo purchase or was this just a buy from someone else?
B
No, this is actually this 211J with one we would actually bought from Willie Weiss actually out of his bull sale there.
A
Okay.
B
She would have been a bread heifer. Her full sister, 211J's full sister was actually campaigned there by the Rotor family. Her full sister would have been. I think she won or was reserve at Cattleman's Congress. And she won Kansas City. So they would be copacetics out of that Rudy cow. I think Willie said that cow's like 11 or 12. I think that was the first purebred semitol cow he ever bought. He was telling me. And that cow, if you look through Willie's sale, there's a lot of rubies back in there. That cow is just kind of flat generated. It has done a good job. I was actually. Oh, that cow's first calf crop actually had some bull calves down at the deal. And we Sold. Sold very well. And this would be kind of the first heifer calf that I get to market. Willie had a full sister to this one last year that sold really well in his sale. Have a bunch of kind of new genetics coming out of that cow next year. But again, another baldy heifer, a blaze face heifer that is just so stout and, and functional there in terms of her structure, her body shape is really good. I think one that again, just gets better every day with, with more time and, and just, you know, I think one that, you know, a year from now could look really, really nice. And that cow is just. Is beautiful to look at. You can see there if you look on the catalog online, her utter quality and presence and build is so good for a purebred scimitl. So certainly one that we have been doing quite a bit of flushing on and kind of hoping here as she gets to rolling as kind of a cornerstone female for us as we move forward.
A
And then slot 41, it's a half semi, half Angus. And just reading this flirt away on the dame side. Mother and maternal grandmother just look like studs. And she inherited a lot of that body shape. Pin set, hip, all of it.
B
Yeah. No, in terms of cow family, here's about his. As good as it gets. The 52H would actually be a full sister to the triple crown winning there that everyone called boots. A lot of cow family here actually. Oh, would have sold a full sister to this one two years ago in a later December sale. That would have been our. One of our high sellers that year. Would have been successfully campaigned there by the Smith family there out of West Virginia. She would have actually. Well done a fair bit of winning out there. I think she was reserve percent semi at the state fair there that year and so on. So yeah, a lot of cow family here again. Back to the encore bull that has done just a tremendous job here this year for us and kind of what we're offering, a lot of presence and tremendous amount of bone and body and, and, and a lot of shape and power to her. I think a heifer there that shows really, really well. And I think just cow family and pedigree kind of allows her to, to go out there and do some big things in terms of generating down the road.
A
Then lot 42, another half semi. Another half half semi, half Angus.
B
Yep.
A
But she's an encore on a cow that we haven't talked about yet. This Bobby Dazzler. Dazzler. I don't know how you pronounce it, but she, she Reads just super dense, like big haired, big foot, cool looking, neat chested.
B
Yeah, no, she does a lot of things kind of unique and, and for a January prospect, I mean she is, it's still got like such so much presence to her. Her bone and leg and foot is very, very big. As you can tell by her picture. She's so proportional and just the way she kind of blends everything together and, and just a lot of shape and stuff. I think that heifer, you know again for a January, I think that one could be very tough. You know, just as she keeps doing the right things like she has, I think that one would be a lot of fun. There's a lot of cow family there. Kind of a little old school sabotage stuff. But you know her maternal sister would have won the reserve in the royal there at Kansas city back in 14. Yeah, I think cow family there is really, really good. Again another encore that has certainly done some, done some really good stuff here.
A
Awesome. And then second to last, lot kind of different. She's quarter Angus, quarter Lemmy and then half semi and again out of Broker. So this baldy female, kind of white flanked as well. Reads with a lot of feature. Just huge feet and legs that are as soft at the surface. Really refined, neat looking, big bodied. I mean give me your thoughts on her.
B
Very good. Yeah, I have her that I get really, really excited about. When I was out at Tim Schaefer's earlier this kind of summer, late spring, one that kind of was come to the top of my short list pretty quick. I was actually when kind of we were chatting there about a few weeks after he said he was going to send her and I was very, very excited. Certainly in terms of Cal family, the 49G has been very, very lucrative for him. I don't know how many countless champions and high sellers that that deal has done. And back to the river stone charm there that would have won the supreme at Louisville for the Ratliff family out of canvas. And yeah, that cow has, that 49G has just hit out of the park in terms of percent semis. I think Tim's even done maintainers and, and more Lemmy stuff and I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot so I'm just going to kind of stop along ahead but, but just generating potential. And Cal family has been so good. And this heifer's full sister would have won Oklahoma City last year for the Clark family out of Oklahoma. A lot of just pedigree. And again back to the broker. You know it's hard to beat a good broker broker daughter. And I think with the 49G and there's certainly a sale highlight one that I'm very very excited about. Just look and pregnant. Her hair is absolutely incredible. It's soft and I actually just had her on the wash rack today and re clipped her and and just looks very, very good. Her structure so good and loose and so maternal in her body shape and just lower body and her muscle is stout but it's laid on so smooth and ladylike. So I think I have her that's got a ton of upside. I think she shows incredibly well and I think just generating potential to have a broker 49G stand in there as a mature cow. I think is is something that be very very excited to have in the donor pattery down the road.
A
So you end the sale with a lot 44 as a limb flex and she's the only one in the sale. But I don't think you could make one longer necked, neater chested and still that bold ribbed and agile. I mean that thing's just intriguing.
B
She is yeah, she is an absolute freak is probably the best way to put it. And honestly she doesn't really even look limb flex. If I tell people all the time she looks almost like a double bread huda man. I mean long and skinny necked as you can make them and still honestly, you know for his freaky as she is up front, she still read with such a nice body shape and depth of rib to her and her structure is just absolutely incredible and how soft she's lim flex thing. This fall has been just tremendously hot and exciting and I think she's one that can can kind of, you know, kind of run with the best of them. She's got awesome hair and and square and moves really good like we talked about before. But I mean her parked and stuff from the side it'll make you look from three pins over and be like what is that animal? And again cow family on that one again is really good. Actually the 101G and 49G would be full sisters. Tim has kind of utilized both those very heavily there in his program and and certainly this heifer has is a lot of a lot of upside to one we're very excited about to offer and again some of those other kind of types of breeds obviously you can tell them I'm a little partial to scimitars as I can offer a few more of them and stuff. But again one for only having one limb flex. It was kind of one of Those where if we're only going to have one, we're going to try to offer the best one we can. And when Tim, let me take this one and load her on the trailer. I was very excited to, to have her in Prague, Oklahoma so.
A
Well, I don't think we could have ended on a better note with her. But what I can say is we've never met. This is the first time we've probably talked besides our phone call. And I've just years past I've looked at your sales, never really heard of you or talked to you and then got to know a little more about you because of the, the people in Hemstead. But phenomenal sale. Extra deep. I can't wait to see how it goes. I'm glad you gave me the opportunity to go over the cattle with you. Kind of just give a, a refresher to anybody that's interested in your females. With that said, I mean this is a live sale so make sure to give Cody or Shane a call to come check them out and go see them on October 26th at 5:00 at their place in Oklahoma for sure.
