Well, we have a preview here coming to you and got a new representation on here, Mr. Shane Lutric. He decided to entrust us to represent his cattle. I'm extremely excited to talk about them. I looked through the sale earlier today and I absolutely love the quality. You can find it on SC online sales. It all happens on March 8th during the Central West Texas weekend. He's located there in Abernathy. So Shane, introduce yourself what Lutric show cattle is all about. Then after that we'll go through all the lots with you.
B
Hi, I'm glad to be here. Like I said, I'm Shane Lutric. This is our first year to be part of the West Texas weekend steer sale down here. It's something we've always wanted to be a part of. Just some of the best cattle in the country are sold this weekend and best producers coming together and I just, I think it's a really cool deal and you know, we're just happy to be a part of it.
A
Well, you start off with lot one and this is out of one of your own bulls, Red Magic on the female you call 005. She's an outsider on Aces Wild. Mariel. Marion. Marion.
B
Marion.
A
Marion. Yes sir, for sure. And he's a July born and I've studied this calf quite a bit. What I think so unique about the calf is his silhouette from the side, his length of neck and just how tight he is through the his throat down to the base of his chest while still being so angular about his shoulder and still maintaining a strong. But to combine that with his amount of mass and dimension, I think this is a big time contender there in Fort Worth. What do you think?
B
Yes, I agree. I mean I think to have one that jet neck that ties in that high, just that natural head carriage to combine that with a big back and that, I mean he's. You can't tell it as much in some of these. I just took these cell phone pictures. We were just trying to get them up and get them loaded on the sail and. But that thing is big hipped and just super soft at the ground and, and like you say for being that jet necked good from the side, he, he really does pack a powerful punch too. I love the way he moves and I mean he's just one that he gets your attention and like I put in the footnotes there, he just, he just hangs on to it. He's got, he's got.
A
Well and he also has the feet and legs to definitely get a push, especially in terms of just like his Back shape, the width about his pin set. He reads to be an awesome dual purpose calf as well.
B
Yeah, I think that one will shear really well.
A
Yes, sir. For sure. Lot two will be next. This will be a perfection. Out of a 307 female, she's on the rocks. Snow Goose. So talk to me about this calf. I mean, obviously he reads to be extremely burly. It reads to be like an awesome slicking calf. Has nice hair quality as well, so reads dual purpose in my mind. I love his feet and legs and just a square foot shape at the surface.
B
Yeah, I mean, that thing's just. I mean, really soft at the ground. Wide backed, wide from behind. I mean, he carries a lot of shape down through the center portion of his rear. I mean, really into the. Down into his lower quarter. Just carries a lot of mass and width and dimension. Really soft haired like you said. I mean, he's. He's one that definitely shear as well. He's kind of. He's learning how to tie like a show steer right now. So these pictures that I've got of him tied up, he kind of wants to suck back a little bit. It doesn't do him any favors. But I, I definitely really like that one a lot. I think he. Plenty of shag to go into the middleweights there at Fort Worth or, or sheer him and go on down the road, you know.
A
Yes, sir. Lot three will be next. This will be a red rocky out of the same female, lot two. But this calf in my mind reads to be a little more moderate in terms of size. Probably a little greener compared to the two that we just talked about. But I don't think that that works. To his demise. That calf reads like an incredible slicking calf. Just the way that he utilizes his feet and legs at the surface in tandem with his back shape up high and the width out of his pin set and that size of his hip. I think that'd be an awesome slicking steer.
B
Yeah, I think that's where that one's. I think that's what he's destined to be. I mean, I think that one's a Houston deal all day long. You know, he does have a lot of shape up high. A lot of shape from behind him. And he's wide, moves out good. But one thing I really like about that calf is just his angularity up through that shoulder. I mean, it's almost. I don't know how else to describe it. Just chiseled. Just really good in his angles up there. Ties in nice and smooth. I really Think that that one's going to slick really well.
A
Lot four will be next. This will be a. Here I am out of a female. You call 701. She's Pinner's double back on a queen 404. Another July born. In my mind. This calf's extremely proportional from the side. I love his balance from the side as well, his symmetry, his length and levelness of hip. I think this calf has awesome hair quality to be a real big contender there in Fort Worth.
B
Yeah, I mean these calves are all pretty green in their condition in my opinion. This is another one that, you know, I just took these cell phone pictures tied to tied there in the wash rack and another one that they've probably been on there. They act real good but they've prob been on the halter or I don't know, they've been tied eight or nine times. I mean they're leading good and everything but just still don't know how to set their head like a real show steer when they're. When they're standing tied, you know, so it kind of hurts him in this picture. But I really like that one's front third. Skinny neck, ties into that shoulder well. Big ribbed, huge hair. I mean that thing's. I think that that's a really nice calf and just a good feeding one. I like the Angus on the bottom side and. But here I am. Obviously those are. We know they're going to feed.
A
Is this one pulled? He.
B
This one has the tiniest skirt. I thought he was pulled for the longest time. I found he's got a tiny scars. Can barely even see him. But I wish he was pulled.
A
Yes, sir. I was about to say the same thing. Well, lot five will be next. This will be an in God we trust out of Alexis female. She's a style and unforgiven in my mind. I think the neatest feature about this calf is his hind leg. I mean that is just a very flexible burly hind leg. But in tandem with that, he's got a very expansive rib cage. His ratio from forward to flank is incredible in my mind and I just love this thing on the move.
B
Yeah, yeah. He just glides out there on the move really. I mean I love the way he sets his feet down strides out really well. I really like him through his front third for. I mean to be that long necked and flat shouldered and still have the, the dimension and the shape that he has and especially being long necked and God we trust like that. I mean I just. He really Excites me. I just picture him as a fat steer and I think that one's got a lot of good ahead of him.
A
Yes sir, for sure. Well, lot six will be next. This will actually be a full sib to lot one. Replicates him in a lot of ways especially in terms of the length of his neck and how it ties the top side of his shoulder. Especially just his angularity in terms of his shoulder as well. How it's just so laid back and the length and levelness of hip and the way that his hind leg is shaped and the use of it when in motion. I do like this calf quite a bit and I think in the end I think on feet and a little tlc this would be a real nice slick and steer.
B
Yeah, I think he needs to be a slip and he's got hair but it's, it's, it's, it's flat stuff. It's. He's not a real dense, good haired one like that. But I mean he's got plenty of shape. I mean really good in his chest floor. He is green but I mean I love the way that one's put together and I think he's made to be a slicking one.
A
Yes sir. Lot 7 will be next. This will be here I am out of 4104 which is a who dat on an LBM full sister. In my mind you do say he's smooth polled. I think this one is classifying Angus at Fort Worth. He's long and skinny necked. That ties the top side of his smooth shoulder. This calf is extremely symmetrical from the side. He's got a lot of balance, extremely proportional. His feet and legs work the right way. I think that this one's extremely unique.
B
Yeah, I really like that calf. I mean from the profile he's awesome. Right now I'd say this one's pretty skinny. We've had some calves out of this meeting before that have done well in the past and I expect this one's going to feed well. And I think 90 days from now you're probably not going to recognize that thing. I mean he's, that's, that's going to be a good calf.
A
Yes sir. Yes sir. Lot 8 will be next and this will be out of your Red Magic bull again on a805cow which is a double dose on a LBM sister. This calf is once again long necked, high tying, smooth shouldered, bold, ribbed, big hipped, has really, really nice hair quality. I think that he's a real nice calf for Fort Worth. Do you think he classifies in the shorties?
B
I don't know. I mean, it's gonna be tough. I right his patterns, right. He doesn't have a lot of roan within, you know, within his color pattern. I think he, it's, it's, it's going to be a toss up, I guess. I mean, I don't know if he'll make it or not.
A
Even still, I think that he's a really nice calf for the red crosses or even really main on Jews. I think he could get in there potentially. But I think this calf is an extremely competitive one no matter what breed he's in. I mean, his feet and legs are awesome. Again, his silhouette from the side is that much better. I think what the right time feed. I think he's extremely competitive.
B
Yeah, I mean, like I say his colors, right. He's that deep red. This thing just floats out on the move. Like, I mean, he's, I mean he moves like a high quality breeding heifer. I mean he just, he just steps out. There's. I mean, you can push this one. And the thing about this, this calf is the cow that he's out of. They, those calves always come in to the weaning pen. You just think, man, they're built good, but are they going to have enough? Are they going to have enough? And you think that for a while and as time goes on, they just get stouter and they definitely, they definitely feed well and they come together and they will put it on. I think this calf will change quite a bit on feed. He's one that you just hammer down on. I like that shirt.
A
Well, you talk about pushing on one and having the right feet and legs to be able to push on one. I think that's a perfect representation of Lot 9. Obviously he's a monopoly on who dat solid gold. But this calf I think is extremely intriguing just due to the fact of his build. I mean, he's so square footed and squishy at the surface and that's what allows him to really flex and go. His hair quality is incredible in my mind. Obviously he's a little smaller, a little greener like you've stated before, but I think that he's an ultra competitive one there at Denver or Fort Worth in the lightweight division or if he ends up in the right hands and someone in Oklahoma, I think he could be a really nice heavyweight at Hawaii.
B
Yeah, I really, I agree. I really like that one since the day he hit the ground. He's just one of those that you're like, man, that thing's put together well and, you know, he's got a big foot. And right now, I mean, there's a few of these things in here that are just, I mean, pretty much flat out just, they're, they're just green as can be, you know, and that's. This is one of them. But I really like this calf. I think is a fat steer. I think he's going to be extra competitive. I mean, that's a good calf.
A
Yes, sir. Lot 10 will be next, and this will be out of your red Magic bull again on 833cow, which is a snow goose. This calf, in my mind is extremely unique just due to the fact of, of just how dense hair he is. But he couples that with a really big foot. I mean, his foot size and shape is incredible. I mean, I love the angularity to his hind leg and just how he puts that all together with his kind of mass and dimension. Up high. Talk to me about him. Obviously you state he's a little vision impaired. So what's the story on him?
B
Yeah, he' had that. I don't know what's going on with him, but he's always just. He's not blind, but he's, he has a really hard time seeing. I mean, he can see well enough that he'll follow the other cows around the pen. He's super gentle. He can see you, you know, when you. He can see you coming and stuff, but you can just tell that he's. He has a hard time. I do really like that calf. I mean, this one is probably the greenest one in the sale. I mean, he's, he's, he's pretty. He's behind right now in his condition for sure, but he's got a long, skinny neck, a big square H. You know, he's got that crease down his butt, I think. Always tells you that they're going to get plenty stout, you know, probably the shaggiest. Well, definitely the shaggiest one that was in the sale right now, I think because of his condition. I mean, he's one that when you get him tied up and standing there, he almost wants to just stand a little awkward. Like he hawks in a little bit at the back and stuff right now. But I think when that one gets on feet and gets pushed, I think all that's going to line out. And I really do like that calf. I think somebody's going to get into this one and it's going to take him a minute. But when he comes together all the way. That one's going to be really nice.
A
Even still, I think that families gravitating towards green ones is always fun to watch, just due to the fact that they get to shape and mold over time. And really that just truly keeps them fresh, to be honest with you, rather than going a different route. Not to, not that that's a disadvantage, but just buying green calves, watching them mold into what you want them to be, just keeping them fresh as well, I think is awesome for sure. But that rounds out the sale preview. Is there any extra comments or anything like that that you'd like to tack on before we end it?
