Well everybody, we got a, we got a, another preview here and it's a new customer here at empower you. It's Mr. Tanner Martin. He's actually an old friend of mine where I grew up in little old Sweetwater there in West Texas. There's a little town about 20 minutes away from it. I'd say less than that, honestly. It just depends on how fast you drive. But Roscoe and Mr. Tanner Martin has been someone that has been in my life for a long time and he's grown his little Hereford herd out there. And now that we're here growing here on Empower you, I get to represent him and talk about his livestock that he's got to offer to you on steer bidder there on the 10th of here in March. So with that said, Tanner, introduce yourself. Maybe a little background about yourself and then the primary goal there at Martin Farms and then after that we'll go through all the lots.
B
No, sounds good, Weston. I appreciate that. No. Yeah, Tanner Martin here in Roscoe with Martin Farms cattle company. And it's me, my dad and my brother, Don Martin and Tyler Martin. We all kind of started this thing up, started raising show cattle, kind of decided or knew we wanted to do show steers and tried to decide if we wanted to kind of stick to a breed. So we, we jumped off into this Hereford deal and it's been really good for us. We're, we're kind of dabbling in the shorthorns, but we're still trying to get our numbers up on that end. But, but we're primarily clubby Herefords and I think we kind of started buying our, our first females and embryos and stuff back in 20, 2012 or 2013 somewhere in around there and, and we've been rocking along ever since. So it's been good and we enjoy it.
A
Yes, sir. Well, you start off the sale with lot one. He'll be an easy jet over female. You call 025. This is a horned Hereford. In my mind that's a extremely proportional steer from the side. Extremely good bodied, big hipped and I love his feet and legs. I watch his video and I love the way that he flexes his hind leg, especially used to his lower joints as well. Obviously a dense haired calf that could be a real big time contender there at Fort Worth. But also reads to have awesome second shape in terms of just his power dimension up high and how wide his pin set is as well.
B
Yeah, he's, he's an EasyJet. Oh, 25. And that's kind of been Honestly, somewhat of our bread and butter I guess at Fort Worth. So our O25 cow, she's. We kind of call her the queen. She's the one that keeps the lights on for us, you know, raised her as an embryo. She's a Kalija 925 from Bradley Hale. And I mean she's, I mean we, I think I can think of over 10 calves at least at Fort Worth alone. She's branded. Two of those were class winners at Fort Worth, you know, and then probably her best to date was she actually got. She had the reserve champion Hereford at Houston back in 2019. And so she's one that we flush a lot. Everything we flushed her to, she clicks. She's. She's really good. She's kind of getting up in age, but she, she does. But this, yeah, this easy jet calf, him and his brother, I mean that's what they're known for is, you know, they're always good haired, good looking cattle that can move. They're built right. And like I said, I mean, not only do they click at Fort Worth, but I mean we kind of just like, like how they're built in general. And so we're a big fan of those EasyJet O25s.
A
Yes sir. Lot 2 will be next. This will be a Bullseye over female we call 47. It's a horned calf as well in my mind. His length of neck angled to his shoulder and how he replicates that into his knee and the use to his hind leg. His feet and leg are incredible in motion. But I do love the calf's proportions from the side, his balance and symmetry as well.
B
Yeah, this is out of Bullseye. So this is, this is a. Bullseye is a, is a bull that we actually were blessed enough to get to buy half interest from Cody Hughes there at Box H. He, he bought him from Brandon Patchke, I believe. He's a stain 703. And so he, Bullseye has been really good for us. I mean this is his second calf crop. He. Last year we had a few bullseyes in the cell. Even recently one of those ended up up north and actually won the British at Dixie National. So that was, that was pretty cool. But this calf here and 47, she's a just right O25. So she's an O25 daughter. This is, she's a, a first calf heifer. This is her first ever embryo calf. We only had one of them, but man, we're awfully excited about what she can do. I mean, super stout, super Hairy moves, great big footed, just all around one that can give you a whole lot of look and, and I mean just, I mean super hairy from day one. And he's always had it. He will have it. And so we really like him a whole bunch.
A
Yes sir.
B
For sure.
A
Lot 3 will be next and he's another bullseye steer and he'll be out of the female you call 18. This calf in my mind reads like a perfect example of a slick steer. Just the term in terms of his back shape, his hip size and the way he utilizes hind leg. I feel as if definitely needs to be highlighted there on the green turf or the chips. But also has incredible hair. Might think that he's a very dual purpose calf.
B
Yeah. So that's the deal again. Bullseye. We, we had him and were able to cover most if not all of our donors last year with, with him. And so we're going to have some naturals. And so he is a cow 18. She's a riptide I bought from Bradley out of Donors Unlimited. But she, this is her natural calf and good calf. She's had three calves for us. First one ended up making the sale at Fort Worth. Second one was a real late calf, beautiful calf. Ended up not getting big enough to make weight. And like I said, he was just born so late, we knew it would be tough so he didn't do that. But then this one is born appropriately and this is her third calf. We're really excited. We kind of think this is one not to, you know, if you were going to try to name one a sleeper. We think this calf that he's just built right from the ground up kind of more fault free. Not one you can really put just a giant hole in. And we, we like him pretty good. I think he makes a pretty good lightweight wherever he goes.
A
Lot four is next. This will be another bullseye son out of a female you call337. In my mind. His presence in the video is awesome. High headed steer that's got an awesome ext tension out of the top side of his shoulder. His length of spine, length of hip and his feet and legs are great. I think just with a little time and effort tlc, I think this calf could be end up being really nice.
B
Yes. And that's another thing again, and I don't want to just keep repeating, but this is another, another natural bullseye. A three out of our 337 donor. Oh, obviously you know that those naturals, you know, they don't get quite all the groceries that Those embryo calves do sometimes and things like that. So him and some of those other naturals may be a nick, but no, he's come on pretty good and again moves good. Love that he's pulled, of course, and good hair coat. I think he'll be a good calf down the road for sure.
A
Yes, Sir. Well, Lot 5 will be next and this will obviously be another bullseye son of a female we call 313 this year in my mind is extremely wolfy in his kind. What I think so unique about the calf is just how tight throated and chested he is and how that allows him to be highlighted so well from the profile in terms of his balance and especially ratio from fore rib to flank. The calf is extremely unique from the side. But I love how much dimension he still offers with that. Talk to me about him and what you think his future looks like.
B
Yeah, I don't know if you can tell from the picture and video. He, he is a smaller guy, but again, I mean, I think you talk about a dual purpose little polled there. I mean I, I think that guy has a tremendous amount of shape. I, I think he'll slick real well. Honestly, a really good set to his pasture. Moves great. And his mom, that 313cow, she's a real wild fronted Highway 33 daughter. And so it doesn't, doesn't surprise me with this guy's front end with bullseye because I mean he's just real clean throated, real neat fronted. Like I said, a little smaller stature. But I mean in terms of again, just another one that I think would make a really good dual purpose. Lightweight being pulled and everything. I do like that calf a good bit. So I think he has, he has a lot of future in him and I like how he can go either way for sure.
A
Yes, Sir. Well, Lot 6 will be next and you kind of switch it up. He's out of the cock a doodle dooble over your 899cal. In my mind in the video he reads to be just extremely docile, but with that, that's a really long neck, tall shouldered steer that offers such a bold rib cage and his feet and legs are incredible. I love the way that his hind leg is designed. But in my mind I think this calf is extremely nice prospect for Fort Worth.
B
Yes, I think this guy is great. I mean you can kind of see it a little bit in the video and especially if you see him in person. He's even still a nickel green. But I mean that guy right there, he's, he was probably kind of. Kind of the head honcho from day one. When that guy hit the ground, he was the calf, you know, we were taking pictures of every day and, and would get your spirits up because he hadn't had a bad day. I mean he's neat looking, great hair coat and like you say that for his feet and legs, the size of. The size of them, but to also move like he does, I think he's awesome. Everybody wants a good polled. He's great marked moves great. I mean like I said, he's definitely been prob the. The favorite around. Around Martin Farms so far this year because he. He's always kind of had that essence about him. So yeah, we, we all like 6 and 8. 99 his damn. She's date right on time. 00:25 finally one of the O25 daughters. It's kind of taking us a little while but getting her daughters into production and so that's kind of one one of first embryo calves here. And we're excited about her and we'll definitely be using her heavily. But yeah, that's kind of one of her first calves out of Cockadoodle do. And I think it worked really well.
A
Lot 7 will be next and this one's extremely outlier in terms of his marking. He's actually a full sid to your lot one. In my mind. I love the calf's balance and symmetry from the side. He's got a really dense burley hind leg that works extremely well. Talk to me about what you think his future needs to look like. I think he's an awesome steer for Fort Worth. Then again, he reads to be a hat or have awesome slick shape.
B
Yeah, I think he's awesome. I mean it's kind of obvious to see maybe a little wilder on the markings. You know, you'd like him to be a little bit better there. So I understand where people might kind of say he ends up in terms of the direction, you know, in what state or whatever. But I will say wherever he goes, that is. That is an awesome calf. Maybe one of the stouter EasyJet O25s we've ever had. And like I said, we've. We've had two of those even win classes at Fort Worth. I mean, just the shape this guy has, how stout he is, the hair. I mean, he's just super boxy. He's chunky. And then the way he can move with all that is still awesome. Like I said, one one of the better EasyJet 025 cabs we've had hit the place and to say that, Emma, we've had plenty in the past, so I think that calf is awesome, and he fits the bill of all of our past great ones. So we're excited to see what he can do.
A
Yes, sir. Lot 8 will be next, and this will be the last lot of the sale to kind of round things out. But, yeah, that.
B
That's a ride out of, oh, 25. And. And you could almost, you know, that. And the easyjets out of her, that's kind of been our. Our bread and butter. But, you know, this ride on time, that is actually that calf right there will be a full sib to that reserve champion Hereford at Houston in 19. He was a ride on time. Oh, 25. And so this guy is. Is really, really stout at the ground. I mean, I. I like the way this guy's built. You know, I'm glad he took a pretty good pitcher, because in terms of being docile for, you know, out there in the pitcher pen, he was probably the most Hereford, like, in terms of kind of moping around, we kind of had to poke him pretty good to get him just to move long enough to get a decent video. But he's. He's dog gentle, a good calf. But I do like how square he is, the way he's built. Like I said, foot and bone. He's a really good calf. And we've had so many of these, you know, do well at Houston. Even had one just this year make the sell at Odessa. So again, right on time. Oh, 25. Something that we've had very good luck with.
A
Well, with that said, that kind of rounds out the sale preview. Is there any other extra comments that you'd like to tack on? Let everybody know before we kind of
B
