All right, so if you paid attention, we ended up doing Kelton Poe, Kelton Poe's family's online sale there on SC, that's happening there on the 29th. So now we're also going to be doing their sale that they're having the following day on the 30th, and it'll be their phone bid off and they're up for display to look at here on sc. So you can find it on there with all the info of the cabs as well as contacts if you need to reach out to anybody. What we need to do is talk about the specifics of the phone bid off, how that's going to work and what is the layout of that.
B
Sure. So the phone bid off, it's going, going to be. So as you can see on sc, the bids are due Monday at dark. So the following day after the online, the bids are due, come dark, what we'll do is that next day we'll find a time to, to get things rolling that is still tbd, but we're all going to get on the phone and what we're going to do is we're going to start at the calf that is at the highest bid at that current moment, we'll bid him off. Anybody that's gotten on a particular calf and has the chance to, if they're, if they're out on the next bid required for, let's say, the highest, the one that's at the highest price, we have the option to say, hey, thanks for getting us there, we appreciate it. Is there any other calves that you want to get on right now? You have that opportunity to get on them and we're going to allow that for everybody. So you still have the option to do so. Fact of the matter is, regardless of if you threw the bid on them at first or not, we want to line these calves up and obviously get them sold, so it makes us happy. But we also want them in good homes. So we're not going to make you, make you sweat over it too much and try to do some figuring or, hey, I don't want to get stuck with this calf whenever I'm trying to build another. No, we're going to make it easy on you and we want to make sure we get all of our calves in the right home. So I certainly want to make it flexible for you guys. And certainly if you have questions further on that or the calves as a whole, don't feel, don't hesitate, contact any of those numbers we have listed listed and we'll do our best to take care of you. Last thing I will say is on top of that, I hope we're back and discussing our next sale we have in line, which will be down south in Fall City in April. We've had that sale for the third year is what we're coming up to. That sale has been uber, uber successful from what you've been able to see if you're on Facebook or whatnot and just kind of heard that's the one that's hosted all of our breed champions thus far and really got off to a start to where I think we're building something pretty special with our partners gender show steers down there in Fall City. So with that being said, that's what we've got. We offer that as a phone bid off too. So it's going to be the same stuff. But just like I said, we're going to work from the top, work down all the way to the last one that we have in line. Everybody's got a fair shot. We're going to make it work for you. Anything to get them in good homes.
A
Awesome. With that said, obviously, Kelton, we've had the discussion about what you'll do there and such, so I'd say let's just kick this thing off and get right to it in lot one. Obviously that he is a Peter Dragon on female. Y' all call 25. And this is a Simbra steer and quite honestly, I love this thing's color more so with that I love the calf's build and ended up. I do think that he's an awesome slick steer just somewhere in between San Antonio and Houston. I think this calf has a lot of future ahead of him.
B
Yeah, you said it best. I will say this, let's not look at his picture, not look at his video. I think that does enough talking itself. His pedigree I think is incredibly potent and I hope we see more of that down the road. Peter Dragon, that's an in God American that Glenn Martin, Skip Adams have. That one's picture is poison. I love that bull. Whenever he talked about making him heav duty and so dense but kind of balance out the way. You want your promo bulls too. That one's I think going to only get better with time and you're going to have a much more reputable name underneath that that Peter Dragon bull's resume because I think he's going to click on a bunch of American cows and exotics. I think he's got a chance to do so. 25. That's the cow that would have raised the reserve champion Simbraw for 2025 for the Mobley family that we sold after that kind of my spill on it, we would have reserved that deal in 25. We just got finished winning that deal on 26 in the Simber deal at Houston. This is my pitch to uphold our reputation, that deal and keep the train rolling. I think this one has got high caliber pieces and a banner in his future if all the things work out and the good lord prevails to get him there. Because, man, I don't know how much more I can offer you for an American like this. Build quality is just phenomenal. Body design is as good as it gets for a still relatively raw baby calf. I think is going to continuously put it on and look the part. Just like his brother did though. Body design and hind leg looks just like his brother that he had in 2025. But after that he is so stout, so stout headed, so long necked. That calf is rolled up with some authentic shape up high, really stout, pinned and just hits you robust. I think whenever you pile on the goods that that calf that he's a maternal sib to just becomes a shelf what this one is because there's just so much more calf, there's so much more density all the way throughout. And just like I said, want to look at the picture and video and that doesn't get you fired up. We can still be friends, but I don't know if we see cattle eye to eye. This one's a pretty heavy caliber bullet. I think whenever we get them to San Antonio or Houston, you're going to look like a top dog in that Simber show.
A
Absolutely. Well, lot two is next. And what's really intriguing about this lot in particular is the amount of Red Angus that have sold this year. And I think the breed itself is becoming more and more prominent. But what I think is the most intriguing about this thing is being out of the Hollywood sire. So he's out of a purebred Red Angus sire. Right. But what's interesting is my little bit of a background is knowing this bull and watching some of his progeny roll in and out of this high caliber barn here in Hempstead. Hollywood would have sired a female that sold for 90,000 out of Cody LaFrence's sale back in November or October. Alongside there's an awesome bull prospect that's out here in Hempstead that is out of Hollywood as well that we will be displaying and promoting here in the near future. But he's out of Monopoly and on the bottom side. And really, truly, I don't think there's a better Red Angus prospect that I've seen this far. Just due to the fact in terms of his proportionality shape up high and depth of depth of rib and just the way his ratio from forward to flank displays. And I love this calf's hip and hind leg. Talk to me about him. I think he's got an awesome hair coat. Obviously it looks like he's got a little rub spots here and there, but I don't think that that should ever work to his demise. You should be able to look at everything else on the calf and realize what kind of quality he is.
B
Yeah, I wish he would have stayed away from the hay ring. He, he got to where he rubbed out on his neck. So obviously two or three days before picture day, that, that, that gets you to where you throw a few things around. But like you said, shouldn't, shouldn't play toward disadvantage. That calf, it is just chock full of quality. I will say this is kind of the byproduct of when that experimenting goes right on that Hollywood bull and taking that into a souped up Monopoly cow, there's obviously the chance that comes out completely far from what you're shooting for. But whenever the experiment falls here like it does, man, this is a quite the hit. Awesome calf. And I think too, I put it in my footnotes. I certainly want to reiterate it because above all, we talk about the calves we previously discussed in our online sale. We'll talk about the ones we still have yet to go. But if there's anything to take from this deal, I think this might be the most impactful discussion. If you've kept up with our program. You know, the past two years we've had three breed champs that, like I said, that reserve champion that Mobley showed of the calf that we just discussed, The Peter Dragon 25, that's the sieve. And the other ones was a champion Red Angus at San Antonio and the champion Simbra we just had a few days ago, both shown by my brother. This calf, along with some others are directly pulled from his pen. They are for sale 100%. I'm not telling you to bloke smoke up your skirt. I'm telling you it's true. I want to get rid of them, but if they don't sell for what I got in them, at least then we're going to end up keeping them. And I think this calf is maybe the best we have to offer out of that pin. If he gets in the Red Angus show, man, it's game on. And I don't know if there's one to catch him. I know classification can be hit and miss sometimes. I'm not going to sit there and tell you that the classifiers are on the wrong there. I just know there's a whole bunch of quality that runs through that deal and things get pretty monotonous. And you see one that comes in with this cute little head and these ears that look just so indicative to get in the red anger show, but then shoulder back, you've just got an absolute man child from there. I know this calf has got some antagonistic parts to him, but like I said, if he gets in, he's an absolute heater. And if he goes to the Red Cross show, gosh, I don't see where he at least slows up any. Don't want to say it to scare anybody off. I just want to be super transparent with everybody on that one. If he were to get kicked out, I don't want to be painted the bad guy because I think we still got a shot to hang with him. But everything about him screams riding is to me. And just like I said, he gets in that show, I think you're walking away with. Could be the banner. Could it be a banner and $10,000 scholarship? Gosh, I think there's a whole lot of upside. I think you're gonna get some roi. That certainly makes smart and warm and fuzzy inside whenever everything concludes with this calf.
A
Yes, sir. For sure. Lot three is next. This is going to be an in God we trust out of a female that we've prior talked about, which would be the 97 female over in your online sale. And honestly, this is right. This would be the full sib over there in the online sale.
B
Yeah, that's him. Do love this calf. This one. He and the calf we previously discussed, we're not feeling picture day. I was happy he pictured the way he did. That's not an attitude problem. That's just us going through the finding out of how to be a show seer and standing like such. This calf is one that is a complete 180 from what his brother is. His brother is stretchy and really, really raw. But you see the pieces that are going to make just an absolute stunning, kind of fresh, kind of youthful look to a good looking show steer. I'm not saying this canvas and embody those pieces, but you want them just chop full of shape and muscle. Right now, that calf has got so Much power up high. He's packing heat from behind, and he is so dense at the surface. This one is also going to have good hair where his brother has a little bit thinner, a little bit thinner hair. It's not going to be quite Fort Worth. This calf can definitely do it. I think whenever you have this one at home, as long as we stay on top of things and don't push him too far, just let him coast, you're going to make this a really easy feeding project because you did that. And then from there, you're going to have one that if he gets in the right class at Fort Worth, you definitely have a great shot of leaving with a big check. But if you want to take him to anything after that, that one's going to slick off. Like I said, to have so much under his hair. And as long as we keep things all together, this one's going to compete with the best of them.
A
Yes, sir, for sure. And lot four will be next. This will be a red rocky out of the solid gold. 26:20 Female from over there at horn livestock. And in my mind, we've already talked about a shorthorn previously. I think this one's a little ahead in terms of his maturity pattern. Not as green as the one we talked to about prior to, But I think that this calf in particular just reads to be like a slick shearing monster in terms of his shape. Up high and from behind. Reads to have awesome hair quality as well that you can probably have fun with over the spring, and I mean over the summer and fall. But I think this calf exhibited on the. On the green turf for green chips would be really, really awesome.
B
Yeah, this calf's my dog, man. I love this calf for a large plethora of reasons, actually. For starters, if you got a little kid, there's not a better wallet place. There is some ridiculously gentle ones in the. In our barn right now. This one is just the obvious one. Whatever you ask for, hey, I got my first year showman or I got a little kid that needs a gentle calf. I mean, this one will eat feet out of your hand. You can literally lay under him and he won't do anything about it. So his attitude is super sweet. And then we talk about the calf quality. He is low to the ground. Big, big muscle, big shape up high. That calf's got so much turn through his lower quarter and stifle. He's massive bellied. And then whenever we ask that calf to get out and go, he lays so good on his ankle. He's so bendy in terms of his hind leg. I know our guy Figpen did have a little bit of a segment about the squishy pasture and thing. Sorry, Thigpen, I'm a side with Cromwell on this one. I like them. They have squishy pastures and this one does it. What a calf. Whenever you ask this one to go, he did tank up a little bit on the feed picture day. So if you're sitting there saying, oh, he's, you know, wanting to tiptoe around on his, on his ankle every fifth step or so, I'm telling you, it's not a factor. If you are worried about it, just come see the calf in person. I certainly think you'll fall in love with him. And then whenever you get him tied up, I don't see why you don't jump all in on this calf. He's got real, real deal upside. I think this one is going to be a nice one for San Antonio. But if you want to have a chance of winning a big banner, I think you need to take him to Houston. And I think whenever you get him out there, you're going to look awfully smart in a show that sometimes has the top end show horns. Sometimes you have cavs that are a little bit hit and miss. Regardless, this cast kind of short backed proxy image paired with a really, really unique skeleton is going to hang with the best of them.
A
I'm gonna be someone that's gonna be on the same boat as you. And Thigpen might give me a call here later after he hears this if he does and might get mad at me too. But I will say, talking about squishy pasterns, I think that Lot 5's hind leg and the way he utilizes his flexibility at the surface in terms of his lower joints is incredible. Looks like that we tried to make a Hereford in this scenario but it didn't come out quite how we wanted it to. He's a kingly on a female that you call 0442, which is a double made. But I've seen plenty of red crosses that have looked this way and have been just as competitive as solid red ones as well. But I think that in that same breath this calf is an awesome simmental as well. I mean, the calf reads extremely good in terms of his angularity. I think that he reads a little green compared to some, but it doesn't take away from his quality because his genuine rib shape is right there where it needs to be. Talk to me about what you think.
B
Yeah, this is going to be a calf that just might be the steal the sale. Now, everybody may find him and if so, congratulations. You found one of the best calves we've ever sold. This one is an absolute hammer. He's little bitty, he's a skinnier guy, but trust me on this calf, he will be one at the tail end. You're going to look like a really, really intelligent individual that's got a calf that can go hang with the best of them regardless where he falls. Now, me and Jagger did talk. Jagger said he'd try him in the poles and I may not be as committed to doing that. But then again, I don't see it as a bad deal because like I say, like I said to him, heck, if you get kicked out of the polls and end up in the Red Cross deal, is that all that bad? His cast quality will speak regardless where he falls. In terms of classification, one that is rope necked, really, really shapely up high. That cast got so much turn through his lower belly to balance up in terms of his flank line and where his chest lays onto it. That's such a good relationship of being able to run so uphill and give you that kind of push poised look from profile and it's like you touched on at the beginning. It's just a hind leg that you can't help but fall in love with. His pedigree, like you said, kingly on a 0442 cow. That cow was the high seller in in a 111 sale and he had this dispersal offering this past summer. Calf was definitely bred to be a Hereford. He's not quite indicative as what we've probably seen elsewhere, but I mean to tell you, if this calf does find a way into a Hereford show, he's certainly going to hang with them and give him all he's got. But elicit Simmental and Red Cross just to be safe. I shouldn't think you should lay off a gas pedal if you get into those breeds because. And I think you've got a really good opportunity for a sound, structured, huge bellied one that's got such a look to them, it's really hard to argue with that.
A
Yes, sir. Lot 6 is next and this is a special one to y'. All. Just reading footnotes and taking notes myself. Y' all name him Ozzy. He's out of In God We Trust on a Bring his female or something of that nature. Don't know the full description on the female, but in terms of future, I think this one' got just as bright as 1 as, as, as others that we've talked about, I, I really, truly think if you get this one home and you feed on him pretty hard, he's got the feet and legs to hold it, to get to the point where his body shape correlates well in terms of his chest floor as well. And it all reads right at the end of the day in a mature pattern. I think this calf's got a really, really good day somewhere between San Antonio and Houston for sure.
B
Man, I can tell you there's so many moving parts to this calf and. And I think there's going to be some tear shed along the way whenever here. And the new owner's able to pick this calf up. As you can tell, if you're looking on sc, his name is Ozzy. Ozzy would have been born premature on the day that Ozzy Osbourne would have passed away, so hence his name. This is a calf that. Man, if you would have just talked about which ones you're going to sell and which ones you're going to get, you're going to cut loose. Just looking at them a few hours old, this had been the fastest Cole you've ever seen. He was an alien, like, if you will, whenever he was a baby and kind of a rough one to look at. Regardless, once he. He got spit out and he was kind of fighting for life, we nursed him to health alongside his resub mother and got him right where he needed to be. And this calf has just grown like a weed. His pedigree is pretty, pretty near and dear to us. You know, if you're following us and know us a little bit closer to the hip, you'll know that dad, that would have been kind of kicking off our, you know, our operation per se in the 90s, trading a bunch of calves and selling them. This is kind of the revamp program that we've really got going the past two, three years. And in year three, this is kind of the floor, if you will. This cow is one that me and dad went ahead and bought out of Perry's production sale. She would have been lot one. The inspiration behind buying that cow definitely goes back to what Jeff Parker and Chance Clemstein and company are able to do. I mean, you've kind of seen the. The success that cows had for them. Two Fort Worth champs. A whole bunch more at Slick and shows that that amazing has been a huge hit. And that's kind of why we decided to get after it with that cow. She's going to have a whole bunch more in And I hope we can offer a lot more embry opportunities with her as well. Like I said, this is kind of the start of something I hope becomes special. Like you said, this calf is ridiculously sound. He is so, so good. Built from their back. I mean, that is a level made good lay to his shoulder. Love the bend of that one's knee. And whenever you talk about making calves kind of fundamentally sound, the surface and still having a look to him, he's got just a beautiful American skull. I love that calf's length of neck on that video. You can tell he's got a bit extra, extra leather up front. I think he grows right into it. And whenever you have him parked from profile one that I put in my footnotes and, you know, furthermore, he's kind of the mating that I'm going after here. That calf that that Cash would have shown in San Antonio got second heavyweights. I think this calf embodies a lot of what that one does. You know, being brilliant about the rear leg size and shape that one had, but still having that kind of look of style and presence up front and having everything in them in between. That's calf I think he's going to feed out like a stud. He's the skinniest one in the wholesale because he just won't stop growing. But if you get this calf to where he's 14, 50, 1500, come a major show. Gosh, I don't know. I don't know if I can sit here and tell you. All the cats think have some upside to win or reserve a breed. This one may sneak up on us and be the absolute man to do it.
A
Yes, Sir. Well, Lot 7 will be next and this will be a. Here I am out of a made to order cow. Potentially could run this one Lemmy, as well as a main, but for sure black cross. And I think this thing is a slick steer, in my mind is extremely, extremely competitive. Just in terms of his shape up high and watching him walk away there in his video and with the pin set, lower quarter and stifle shape, I think this calf has got a lot of upside being slicked off. I think he's got good enough air to definitely play with and have fun with over the summer and fall. But this calf reads to be an awesome slick steer.
B
Yeah, don't miss him. Do not miss this calf. This is one that as I'm kind of sitting here and giving you all some insider news on, I'm looking on how on the the sale result, other sale review thus far, this Calf hasn't had a whole bunch of love and he's in a pen with a heat with a few monsters. He's out there with the bigger calves and where he's got so much shape and he's not as big hair and he kind of stands there and gives you that kind of elite look. But it's not as just bloomy and stout as some other calves in there. I certainly think you shouldn't miss him because of that. This one is a phenomenal slicking calf for, for San Antonio and would work for Houston as well. This one is a really unique find of being just kind of the one that's got big time shape up high. Love the role he's got through his inner and outer leg and his hind leg is just built for speed. That's one that I think has only gotten better with time on Feed Man. Even a week after picture day, I walk out there and I hardly recognize them. He's coming fast and I think that's one that if you want to play in that black, that black cross show, he's going to be one that fits the mold so well. Just to take to a slicking major because of all the things I previously previously mentioned, that calf wanted to fight the holter a little bit on his picture and even his video. I'm not sitting there telling you that this calf is perfectly built because I don't know if there is ever one. That calf looks a little rocked forward to shoulder. I got to where I was being, you know, way too of a, way too much of a perfectionist and got worried about that. I went back and looked at it. Looks good to me. Just like I said, I don't see why you wouldn't want to like a black hide a calf that's got some real deal shape up high with the hind leg that's built like that.
A
Yes, sir. Well, in lot eight is next. This is going to round out your phone bit off sale. And I know you're not supposed to show your face or your cards, but I'm going to be completely transparent. This is arguably one of my favorite calves of both offerings that you have here in March. And I say that one because he's out of a sire that has been known to hang them left and right. Amazing grace on a female. That's huff and puff. This calf in my mind in terms of his proportionality matched with his mass and shape and rib design. But on top of that, his hind leg and the way that his shoulder sits so flat in him, I do love this calf, calf haired or slicked, I think he's got awesome hair quality. Obviously y' all are in Needville, Texas, where humidity is not your best friend, but I would say that in the right home this cat could have awesome hair. But also with that said, I think that he's extremely, extremely cool there between San Antonio and Houston, as well as an aoc.
B
Yeah. And if you're kind of keeping up with how we usually do things in our sales, I know this one split up to have a unique deal of the back and forth of online and phone bid off. But I've always tried to kind of plant a seed at the end of each sale of one. I think is is a really, really phenomenal show calf. I think that someone's going to latch on to and win a whole bunch of trinkets. This one follows suit. You said Needville. This calf certainly ain't equipped for it. If you actually listen to Ferris and Brent's discussion on on Cromwell sale, Brent would have talked about a little bit on what calf. I don't know which calf it was about what need was like whenever he was down there with us. Yes, the mosquitoes are big enough to carry you off and the humidity isn't an absolute bad. That one is not in the place he needs to be. This calf, whenever he finds his new home, is going to just put it on and get after it. One that's very close to what our lot 8 was in our online sale. Whenever you talk about feedability, his build is just as good as it gets. I love that cast. Flat shoulder. The bend back into his knee is right on. That's a really stout ankle. He sets the surface that he's able just to have, have so much look to. I think that's kind of derived from a skeleton. That cast look and skeleton matched on to him is able to paint a really balanced proportional image. But then whenever you get to see him in person, you see that's a huge back. A really stout, monstrous pin set that one's got. And just like lot, lot 16. Excuse me. The calf we just previously discussed, those two calves are just everywhere. You look at them, they're shaped. Those are some calves that are going to be lean, really fresh individuals whenever they're finished out that I think, you know, if you kept up with what Nelson was after at Houston, that's kind of what he was going after. Some really fresh, picked up, muscled ones that had some really youthful orientation to them. I think those calves do it. And this may be the highest degree of such in that tag 17, really good pedigree. I love whenever those amazing graces work because they're beautiful headed, they have some really good slick and intangibles, and they're built for speed. This calf is him. If you don't want to play in the AOC show, I understand. But if you're searching for county fair calf in the fall or, excuse me, in the spring. Sorry. Or you are going to try to find the right class to get place and potentially win you a blue ribbon, this calf, I think, has got as good as chance as any. I stand firmly behind that one. And more importantly, kind of the sale as we conclude things. This is as good of an offering as I've ever had. Really, really pumped to have what's coming here in the future. And I think this calf, along with the other ones we previously discussed, is only the start of of it.
A
Yes, sir. For sure. Well, once again, that wraps up the foam bit off sale there. That's happening on SC on the 30th. Obviously all the contact info is in both sales that you have there on the 29th and the 30th. So if anybody has any questions that we weren't able to answer, I'm sure Kelton or anyone else would be glad to pick up the phone and talk to you. With that said, once again, grateful that we were able to represent y'. All, the cattle look awesome and extremely excited to see what happens come sale day. Thank you all for tuning in and we'll see y' all next time.
