All right, so I'm very fortunate to be able to do these previews and the reason that I say that is because I get to represent friends of mine that I've known for either quite some time or they're brand new relationships. Fortunate enough in this event, I've known Kelton Poe and for quite some time and he's been a mentor of mine in a lot of different facets of my life. And so, Kelton, for one, I'm grateful that you're allowing us to represent you, grateful that you're able to come on and very excited to talk about what y' all have to offer. I know that we're going to be covering your online sale as well as your phone bit off, but this is going to be for the online sale specifically. So before we get started, I'd like you obviously you've been on the platform before, you were a guest for one of our guest episodes. So if people listen to that, obviously they know you. But even if still they should know you because you're definitely someone to be sought after for this upcoming deal. So Kelton, just kind of give us what the goal is there at PO Livestock. Primary goal, anything like that, what you're excited about for this sale. And then after that we're going to dive through the lots of.
B
Yeah, well, I appreciate you first and foremost question. I, like you just said it's an awesome opportunity to have the chance to sit down with you and talk about these. But you know, it's definitely built on a pretty good foundation of you and I kind of been friends prior to this and from there, I mean it's, it's a, it's a good opportunity for me to discuss it on the platform that you've built here for us back home. Kind of giving you a brief rundown. For those of you guys that are tuning in and don't know me personally. My name is Kelton Poe. Me and my father kind of team up back home and kind of have our own operation, PO Livestock and Needville, Texas currently pretty family oriented team if you will. I mean myself and dad, like I just said, mom, Stephanie, brother Keelan, and then we also have Jimmy and Allie there that help out a whole bunch and keep that trainer rolling. So like I said, very family oriented to keep things in perspective there. It makes things a heck of a lot easier on us, the sale and what we kind of do back home. We're trying to get things rolling. I hope to see that really come to fruition here the next two, three ears. And so Forth. We're really trying to change our program back home and kick off a lot more Americans and I hope we see a lot more breed cattle for ear divisions in the next few years, like I mentioned, but right now it's a bunch of mixed bag things. This sale I think we really focused hard on getting a little bit different than previous years. Opposed to having a bunch of golds and grays and whites. We have a little bit more breed stuff. There's a little more British cattle finally in this offering. I'm happy to offer those some Americans and also some exotic breeds. So this sale in altogether really fired up about the group. We've got, like you say, we're going to talk about this online, then get to the phone, bid off, which will be the following day. This group's got some really high upside. I'm certainly happy to talk about them.
A
Absolutely. For sure. Well, you start off with lot one. This is going to be a BDR over female you call wdm. Obviously this is a July born and really, truly in my mind, he represents the perfect description of what dual purpose really shows. I mean, this calf's got awesome haircut. Right. Dense haired. But I think the most intriguing thing about this calf is really his hip and hind leg. I love the structure to it and I love the way he utilizes it. But he's extremely unique from the profile just in terms of his proportionality and his rib cage. Talk to me about what you think his best end point is going to be at and what the story of the calf is.
B
Yeah. So lot one, like I kind of said in my footnotes, really couldn't think of a much more obvious way to start things off for us. I mean, this business done right. Houdeman calf is one that just kind of gets you fired up from the word go. He's got a beautiful hair coat. That calf has got proportions and feature, I think makes for a really, really high quality slicking calf. Whenever it's all said and done with. He's big, muscled. I love the role to his big cage. That one's got so much thickness from behind. I like just a calf that whenever you talk about this intimidation and being there, he's really got it. But just like he said, maybe his most effective feature in my eye, that hind leg, I think is just of 10, 10 out of 10, if you will, on that whenever he gets out and goes, he grabs the surface. Super laid back on his ankle. Got a really, really good look to whenever he sits at the surface and on the standstill. I love that cast hind leg posture, one that, just like I said, hair. I think he needs to go to Fort Worth and probably be a middleweight and take him from there. I think that's one that's definitely got a good chance of getting an F on his cheek. But if you do change that idea and say, hey, I don't feel like taking that calf to Fort Worth, he's going to fall in the aoc. He's a black nose, a gray calf. He'll still be competitive. Just like I said, there's a whole lot of horsepower and man, underneath all that hair, I think that's one that's got the shape and kind of just balance to still slick off very good and keep things rolling. Now, I want to also mention on that calf in particular, I know the raps that some of those business done right calves have. First day out of the shoot, you would have thought this would have been quite the rodeo. About day three, he, he's about puppy dog general, he's acting great. And that one, that's one that's kind of came a long way from there from wanting to be a showcase. All the way from picture day, he's gotten nothing but better. And I certainly think that's one that if you have aspirations of going from Class 5 to Class 8 in Fort Worth and kind of getting you a big check, I think that one's super, super shapes. It's built awesome. He's got big muscle and gosh, there's so much hair to add to the pile.
A
Yes, sir, for sure. Lot two's next, and this is going to be a May we all maternal made potentially main, but for sure black cross steer in my mind compared to the one we just talked about. Maybe on a little bit of the touch of greener side, but I don't think that that works to a disadvantage because the calf is extremely unique just in terms of his length of neck and the way it ties in. But even still, he draws back to a really soft, deep flank just from what it reads like. But his hind leg is especially just as good as the one ahead of him. I do like the calf a lot, and I think he's extremely dual purpose as well. He reads to have like, he had quite a bit of fuzz in his younger days and maybe just a little bit of shocking. I could be wrong in that scenario, but he reads extremely dual purpose.
B
No, for sure, that calf is one that if we're just talking ones that I like, I'm not necessarily telling you which one's better because if I sit here and try to plead my case. It's going to take a real long time because I'll have to discuss a bunch of calves in this group. This one is a fan favorite for me. He is a sweet, sweet calf in the grand scheme of things. And we'll talk about it more. Me personally, I. I really like whenever you have a black cross calf that can slick off and look truly authentic, authentic and yet have kind of a flank line to him to balance up, have a hind leg that works and motors right and still kind of still really committed to making them sound and square at the surface. You know, I think a really good testament to that just we just got wrapped up with Houston. Those two cabs that go one and two in that deal. I mean ones that you can really get fired up about. And if you're just kind of pull shopping, you can definitely see why. Those cattle rows the top phenomenal steers. I think this one embodies a lot of what they do. Whenever you get the hair off this one, he's going to have some really good rolled up shape, especially right behind his shoulder whenever he fills. That's a really long necked calf that like I say, make them good at the ground, make them sound structured. That one's got the hind leg. I think that will be a large majority of the black hide of calves he'll go up against. And then from there it's going to take a lot, a lot of calf to really beat out that one's kind of look and presence. Now I will mention there, this is one of the ones I do have a footnote on for kind of housekeeping rules. This calf did get sick on us and it's kind of fighting some pretty bad pneumonia. He's trying to get over that. I'm hoping that everything kind of comes together in the next few days or so and he's back to his old self. I think even in the video you can kind of see if you're looking for it, he's just a shop lethargic. We're hoping to get that calf right back into the swing of things. But he's isolated at the showborn. Slowly right there if you go for viewing so you won't miss him. We'll get you to see that kiff just across the hay pasture. But thought I'd mention that that calf is feeling a little bit under the weather. But please, if that doesn't bother you, there's a whole lot of quality.
A
Found that one absolutely for sure. Lot three is next. This is Going to be a perfection over a female that's a solid gold over man amongst boys. This is going to be the youngest calf of your offering. But in all reality, I don't know if people paid attention, but of your sale last year, you had another shorthorn. And I think this calf resembles him in a lot of ways. One, in terms of his hair quality, two, in terms of his hind leg and the way it's built and the way he uses it. But on top of that, just his neat profile, I think this calf's got a lot of future ahead of him and I think that he's an awesome Fort Worth contender.
B
Yeah, I think this calf is a freak, man. This one, as he kind of tracks across the ring, you easily kind of resonate with that one's quality. One that you can't help but be enamored with. You talk about a really thin neck that's parking a cute head on top of it. That calf is super flat backed. And whenever you get that calf on the wall shrapnel, change some gears on what you see. From picture slash video, that calf reads really, really good with the kind of muscle texture that one's got. I mean, you rinse that calf off and he's still really skinny. Like, like you said, he is the youngest and he's certainly not the bloomiest one we're going to offer in terms of condition and body, but that calf has definitely got enough to slick. So if you're thinking about one that, you know it's not a one stop shop at Fort Worth just because he's big haired and great looking, that calf is going to have some versatility to him. If you want to take him to a later show, I certainly think he's got it. And the pluses keep on coming. I mean, he's out of a pretty great cow. That calf is going to have just a ridiculously fuzzy hind leg that's able to bend and get motor so well. I think whenever you place that calf into a lightweight show at Fort Wor that is kind of a mixed bag. One that kind of turns the corner past that curtain that first five seconds, you're going to definitely be drawn into that one. Sharp look and arrogance. Once it gets pulled to the middle, I think it's game on. That calf's got real deal quality and upside to win that deal. But like I said, if you want to take that calf somewhere else, I think it's definitely a smart investment there too. I think that calf's got worlds of quality to hang with the Best of them no matter what his destination is. And to topping off a really sweet attitude on with that kiff.
A
Yes sir. Lot 4 will be next and this will be a cock a doodle do over a made right cow. So this will be a pulled Hereford and obviously this is going to be the first Hereford that y' all have ever offered. And I don't necessarily, necessarily think that there's a better way that you could offer one. Just in terms of his build and his quality from the profile. I do love this calf and I read a lot of future into him. Hair nor slick. I think he makes either way work. But I see this thing as being an absolute incredible slick steer. You talk to me what you think.
B
Yeah, absolutely. You know, this is in West Texas. You're not going to stumble upon, you know, 100 plus Herefords out in my place. And I don't ever foresee that happening. If you read my footnotes and you actually know me well enough, you know, I am far, far, far from a Hereford enthusiast. I kind of let those things do their own deal. I focus on my Americans in my crossbreds here and there. But this KFA I do think has a really top end upside to compete. One that first these cockadood do cabs that I've seen thus far are really, really high end. I think those cattle are stout made, they're really good looking, they've got some really bunchy muscle shape and they're able to silhouette out the right way whenever they're part profile. The biggest and most I think, I think the best upside and the best tangible thing those cattle have is they're so, so good haired. The fresh kind of non wavy stuff that I think puts you in the upper echelon of some of those haired calves that you'll see probably at Odessa or Fort Worth I think is a lightweight there. He's going to look really good. But it' if we take him to the turf or we go to the green chips, that calf's going to look very high end because I want that. I really do think whenever you have him standing there and you can kind of look from his, his picture on sc the calf balances up oh so well. I think one that's going to have a really good turn to this is the body line of that calf level designed one that kind of motors and gets out and goes super well. A one calf that whenever you get behind him. There's certainly a whole lot of man there as well. Like I said, I'm not a big fan of These Herefords, if you told me if you kick through a hundred of them, I'd probably come out with. With a cat, that ain't on your short list. But regardless, that calf kind of fires me up and I'm glad we have him.
A
Yes, sir. Lot 5 is going to be next and this is going to be an in God we trust over female. Y' all call 97. This could be a charolay and or AOC depending on where he ends up. I do love this calf's profile just in terms of his length of neck, definitely length of spine, fullness of hip. But really, truly just how big footed and bendy his hind leg is. I do like the calf a whole lot just in terms of his shape up high as well. I think he reads a lot of future more so just needs time and feed to get that mature weight. What do you think?
B
Time and feet, that's what you need. I think this calf will make a man look really, really intelligent. Whenever we get to 20, 27. This calf is 1. Like you said, that 97 cal is a phenomenal factory. We're going to talk about a full brother to him in a few minutes or so once we get rolling on our phone bid off portion. But this is the calf that I kind of had earmarked for this sale. This one I think is going to be a calf that you push and get to a 14 weight. And once you're there, you're going to be awfully fired up about what you got on your hands. Like you said, a little bit more raw. He's a little skinnier. He's going to need a lot more just time and TLC to get him there. But I don't, I don't necessarily think that's a. A downgrade of the kind of, kind of cattle you're going to get there. This one is going to feed out just tremendous, great looking, stapheaded. A one that's got a truly phenomenal hind leg. He's swinging underneath him. And in a grand scheme of things where you know everybody and their dog is going to be raising their, their white calf, they're pretty proud of. This one's going to look the part whenever we get down to the end of it and certainly make a stake for his own case.
A
Yes, sir. Lot six next. This is gonna be a. How great thou art of a female called tater Main or black cross. I think this thing just in terms of Fort Worth, specifically his hind leg and how stout it could be is what Frank is looking for. And that's just my opinion, but I'd let Kelton describe a little more, but I think this cast extremely dual purpose and I think he's got a lot of future ahead of him.
B
Yeah, I mean, just like you said, Frank's going to love this calf's hind leg if he stays true to what he did. And I love the way that Frank stayed committed to that across the board. I love to find those calves that were boxy and moderate, but still swung a really big hind leg underneath them and had that kind of killer look to him. I think this calf does that to a pretty high extent. This is one that I think he's dual purpose too. I think if you don't choose to take him to Fort Worth and he hits Houston, it's game on in the main show. I think have a big rear leg like he does that sets down so well. And kind of the shape to it is only the start of what that calf is brilliant looking. Just a pretty head. He's able to park on top of it. That kept tucked up at the basin floor of his chest and one that kind of just is so seamless. Whenever you get up on him, everything blends oh so well. A KF that I really think is going to make a push to the top end. He's not all there right now. And that's if we're kind of talking about the grand scheme of things of our sale. Hey, I don't know if all them are just as the blooming ist chunkiest little baby calves you've ever seen, but I think we almost did that by design. I knew we weren't ever going to get them as chunky as everybody would deem ideal. But I do think whenever you have a calf like this, it doesn't matter. One that if you can read quality and you want to take a project in there that's going to really give them all they want. This is him. Like I said in my footnotes, this calf is special. I wasn't trying to catch your attention with some fancy words all the way after that. This calf is the real deal. And if you're investing in this one, it's going to be a good investment that we're going to fire off and win a lot of trinkets.
A
Yes, sir. Lot seven is next. This is going to be the only American of this sale. But really, truly, I don't think there's a better way that you could. Exhibit one, he's 11 size over a bring his cow. This calf is going to run as a Sim bra. I don't see him being a huge Fort Worth contender. I don't know if his hair quality is right there, but I think just so, I mean, obviously you quartered him. That exhibits his shape and his rib design as well as just the size and shape to his hip and lower stifle. I think this calf Reed's extremely, extremely a heavy hitter. Comes in Antonor Houston. What's your thoughts?
B
Yeah, he's one of the older ones we have in here. And, you know, to be honest, it's a little more misfortune, if you will, in terms of presenting him at the highest of his ceiling. So as a buyer here, listening, if this calf is one that you're interested in or you have questions on man, please come see this calf in person. He's really, really good and one that, hey, us maybe being a little slow to getting him banded or him not having a shaped head right now. I think that's going to be something that, quote unquote, doesn't quite grab the top premium this calf's quality is capable of. And you're going to look like a really smart individual if you're able to latch on. This calf out there, he's really turned it. I know whenever we pictured and videoed, he was still kind of getting over the banding process and consequently, that calf lost a little more baby fuzz. He's not quite as bloomy and chunky as what he looked like previously. And he hit kind of a gross spurts. All the things point maybe the wrong direction for this calf to look the best of his ability. But I guess if you're focused on winning in April, May and June, he may not tickle your fancy, but everything after that, you've got a real heavy hitter of a calf. Super stout, super flexible. You can see how bendy his hind leg is whenever he's on the go on his video and the things I talked about right now, that calf presents himself so well whenever he bounces up from profile. And I think once you kind of do the small cosmetic things, you're really going to be proud of the calf. I think he's a great one for a slick and show, and him kind of having a streak faced allows him to stay and compete in that Simber deal. We've had pretty good luck in the Simber show. I think that one's definitely going to follow suit.
A
Yes, sir. Nate will be next. This will be your last live lot of the online sale. This can be an in God we trust on a female that's GB419 Milkman. This calf will run as an AOC. And so in my mind, he reads dual purpose as well. I mean, he looks like he's got great fuzz, right? I think he could be an awesome middleweight there at Fort Worth potentially. But I also think this calf reads to have awesome shape up high. And just in terms of the width to his pin set, I think the calf would be awesome there, Houston or even Austin. I think that the calf's extremely proportional and he's got an awesome set of running gear underneath. And talk to me about him.
B
Yeah, lot eight, the way we wanted to close out the live auction portion or the live offering, excuse me, of our online sale. Don't let him being three quarter away from the camera take you away from the calf. This one's chopped full of muscle, he's chocked full of shape. That calf's really high end. Whenever we talk about pieces that just make a project easy. About a few hours ago, actually, me and Jagger were on the phone on this calf and he was like, man, I like that one because he looks like he's an easy feeding, real safe one that's always going to compete in the AOC show. He may never light the world on fire, but, man, you want to talk about one that's just safe and secure, he's your guy. And I couldn't, I couldn't agree with that much more. That's one that whenever we were kind of kicking them around the lot, I was talking to dad about, I said, man, if you wanted to kind of swing at your county fairs in the spring, or like I say, you wanted to go to Fort Worth and be a Class 3 to 6, or you wanted to go to, you know, San Antonio or Houston and be one of those lighter weight AOC classes, I think this one is about as good as you're going to get out there. And one that's going to be a easy feeding project. He's got so much belly. His hind leg works awesome. And whenever he wants to cooperate and be a show steer. That's a good looking rascal. That's got a lot of top end look and style up front. Like I said, picture online, he's quartering off and if that turns you off on there, please swing back on that calf. I promise you he's a really, really good, really good steer. He just wasn't feeling pictured. And that's all right. We're making leaps and bounds of improvement since then. And that's one I think it's going to turn some Heads surprise some people down the road.
A
Yes, sir. Well then lots 9 and 10 are going to wrap up your sale. And they're both going to be embryo packages of three each, which are one lot nine going to be high mains and then lot 10 are obviously going to be percent semi. So talk to me, why y' all are deciding to offer those and maybe potentially what those calves look like or could look like.
B
Yeah. So we got two lots left in here. The first ones are going to be some old me's out of that sugar mama calf. Now we're offering these up. A good buddy of mine, Kaden Morris, trying to disperse some of the good stuff he's got in the tank. Man, I think this is a really, really unique opportunity for somebody that I think can be ahead of the curve. This is going to be something that many people are going to be sought. This is going to be a sought after stuff that many people are going to be all in on. You know, for starters, I mean just take a look at that picture. That doesn't get you fired up for what you'll see here as a high main that I don't know what will. That's a super stout kind of brute cow that kind of gives you that look of just style and arrogance. Being as stout maiden about her head and her jaw, but so tucked up in her chest. You're going to have ones that are going to be undeniable about their presence. They're going to be good fresh haired and that kind of symmetry from their back is going to be easily, easily found in a heifer show. Especially if you keep them in Texas. Like when you look at the, the pedigree, that sugar mama cow on top of that. As an all me, I don't know if there's a better bull out there to throw on top of these purebreds. I' most connected if you will, when we talk about some of your registered females. But I do know every one I flip through on some baby heifer sales. You see all me on the tire side, they're usually pretty good. So awesome opportunity for somebody. I think you can get ahead of some things and look really smart whenever time comes. But this is a unique opportunity I think you need to jump on. That double zero four cow is one that if, if you haven't seen that cow's picture, man, you're kind of living under a rock. That's one that's been just ultra, ultra productive in her timeline of making toppings show heifers and, and this mismating. I mean, you talk about that cow and what she's done on the top side, you have salmon. I, you know, if you're watching some of those heifer sales and those ones that they offer some seam at the tail end of it or to start things off, you know what that something about Mary seaming brands, it's certainly not cheap. This is a really, really lucrative mating that I think is going to be awfully potent. You're going to look super intelligent whenever these things truck out there in their percentage show. I think this one's got top end upside that if you're able to luck up and get all three of these embryos, can you get some females on hand, you're either going to have a really good time getting them in the show ring and whipping up on everybody, or you're going to sell them for top dollar. So I don't see much of a lose lose here. Awesome.
A
Well, that kind of wraps up your, your online sale that's happening on the 29th there on SC. Obviously your info as well as your father's info is on there, but if you can't get a hold of either of them, I know that baby bush will hit pick up the phone as well for you and he'll be able to describe the cattle pretty accurately as well.
B
So.
A
So with all this said, grateful that we're able to represent you for your online sale and obviously we're gonna be doing your phone bid off too. So thank you all for tuning in and we'll see y' all next time.
