All right, so we got another preview for y'. All and I'm very, very excited about this one one because the first individual that I talked to about doing this sale in particular was the dad, Mr. Seth Almanza. And tonight we have his son Ethan on here with us to describe them and talk to him or talk to y' all about the set of show steers that are offered. This sale is extremely, extremely unique in a lot of ways, just due to the fact of the genetics that are offer very outcross and outlier in my mind. But that goes to show the quality of the cattle that those genetics can offer. This is the prime time for showtime sale that is happening on SC online sales on April 4th. So once again, I've stayed. Ethan, his son is on here tonight to talk about the cattle with us. Ethan, talk to me about maybe the primary goal of what you and your dad try to strive to create and offer for the public. Obviously y' all are, have been doing this for a little while and y' all have definitely grown it into something extremely, extremely beneficial. Talk to me about that and then after that, we'll dive through the lots.
B
Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Like you said, I'm Ethan Almanza. I'm Seth Almanza's son. Going back in my history, I showed cattle in high school. My mentor was Matt Woodley. He runs Case's cattle company over there. Y' all know y' all did a sale preview for them not long ago, but I mean, he really, he really helped us take off and got us going in the very beginning. And you know, dad and I have been plugging away at this slowly but surely bringing in cattle left and right, trying to put the best that we can forward for tomorrow's showman. And we, we, we really, really strive to put these calves in good kids hands. And that, that's the biggest, that's the biggest payoff for us. It's not the money. It's getting to see the smiles on those kids faces whenever they make it to show day. And all the hard work off seeing these kids and how well they do at the end of the year, you know, you know, they put in the time effort and you know, they, they learn so much more than just how to show a calf. I mean, they, they, they learn discipline, they learn the responsibilities that go with it. I mean, just knowing that we got to be a part of that kid's upbringing and part of that kid's experience just really, really does it for us. It's not. Money's nice, but I mean, we really, really like and love to see how those kids progress and grow as people in this world would just like to be part of that.

When you start off the sale with lot one, a Red Cross prospect that's out of a bull that's called Leviticus on a female y' all call Mabel. Obviously she was purchased from 111. This calf reads to to be a really unique specimen. To be honest with you. Y' all mentioned that he's a first year showman approved. So obviously has good docility. But what's intriguing about the calf is he reads to be a slick sheeran beast. I think his feet and legs are perfect and extremely ideal to be pushed to get 12 o', clock, especially for those later spring sale or the spring shows. Talking like Austin, Houston wise, I think the caf's got a lot of future ahead of him.
B
Yes, sir. I completely agree there that he nailed it right there with, you know, hitting those late spring sales. We, we really would love to see this calf in Houston. Yeah, he's, he's got some freakishly good hair that we like to clip him up and we found a really good calf under all that hair. But man, I would love to see this calf slicked and in Houston. He definitely puts it all together. He moves sweet. I mean, he's just, he's just as cool as they get. To top it all off, I mean, he's got the attitude of a small puppy dog. I mean, we happen to just call him our sweet steer on, on picture day. Picture day is not always the easiest thing, but you know, whenever you've got one that's really docile like this, that can help, you know, lead calves and have something to follow. I mean, this dude didn't give us a liquid trouble all day and we could even halter him in the picture pin. I mean, he's just that gentle. I mean, we definitely don't, we don't put young showman approved without really, we stand behind that. I mean this, this calf is just super gentle and just, he's going to be super fun for somebody out there. And we are excited to see how this one goes.
A
Yes to next. And this is actually going to be an in God we trust sired calf to horn on Horn. To be honest, he's out of a female that you and KSIS own together from Horn, the 4207 female. Another exotic and like y' all state, he's a full sib to the grand champion limousine steer in 2023. Obviously he's bred to be a slicking calf. But he reads to have awesome hair quality that could be especially highlighted there at Fort Worth as a lightweight potentially. I like the calf's proportionality. I love his rib cage design and his body shape that is coupled with that. Talk to me about him, what you think his best end point should be and just a background on the calf as well.
B
Yes, sir. Yes, sir. This is an embryo transfer calf. We were super excited when he hit the ground. He's never had a bad day in his life. Big leg, big hair. I mean this calf has just really been awesome for us out here in the past year. I mean he's, he's definitely. I know and I've heard this over and over. You don't show your hand, but I mean, you can't really. I mean, I ain't got a poker face when it comes to this. Captain. You're going to see me gush on him. He's another one of them really, really easy going, slow. I've heard some folks call him slow, fast. This cap's definitely slow and he's definitely going to be there. Houston. I mean, yes, like you said. I mean he's got the hair to go to Fort Worth, but I really, in my time and showing, I really. When the cat's got all that under that hair, I really love to cut it off and I love to see him run at Houston. I think that's. I think that's where this calf really is going to shine. He's going to be there. I mean he's just got a ton to him. Put a lawn chair on his back, lay down. I mean he is. He is massive and I mean I'm a big guy, but I mean, I feel like I can take a nap on his back. I mean he's that wide. He's just got a lot going on.
A
Yes, sir.
B
For sure.
A
Lot three is next. This is going to be an American prospect. That reads to be like he classify as a girt for sure. I love his proportionality, his length of neck and how it ties in. The top side of his shoulder reads to be kind of like an easy feeding, more moderate steer. He's out of the bin. Praying sire on a female that is an in God we trust in some way shape or form. From David Waldrop. I do like this calf. I think he classifies all day long as a girt and I think that he's at best end point would definitely be like a San Antonio Austin Houston range.
B
Most definitely this. Yeah, not on purpose. These, these first three calves have all been super gentle. This calf in particular, I mean, he. He walks up to you, he wants to nudge you. He wants to eat feet out of your hand. I mean, this calf is gentle. I mean, and, you know, he. He's really slow going. He definitely would love to see this calf in the girts. I. Like I said, I don't. I don't disagree with you that he has any issues classifying. He's got. He's got.
A
With.
B
He's got. He's got a great top line. Moon's great. Honestly, whenever dad sent me pictures of this calf, this is. This is this cow's first cat. Whenever dad sent me pictures of it, I was like, there's no way we're cutting this thing. And just as he's gotten bigger and all this stuff, dad and I, we always bump heads whenever it comes to deciding if we want to keep one a bull or not. And he wanted to steer this one, so that's. That's where we fell. We ended up steering him. But I think this thing's going to be a lot of fun for. For a showman out there to really, really do some good show.
A
Lot four is next. This is going to be a Texas red on a stockyards female that y' all had got there from Mr. Woodley. And quite honestly, I'm a huge fan of this calf. I love his presence. I love his silhouette from the side. But more importantly, he couples that with an extremely burly hind leg. And I read and feel as if with the size of his cannon, this calf is going to be extremely dimensional. At the end of the day, he's going to have a big, fresh back, and I think this calf has a. As a Houston contender there. Is he going to have an awfully good day?
B
Most definitely. I would love to see this calf go to Houston, and either. If you get him in the GIR. Great. I think he holds his own in the ABCs as well. I think this dude is going to be really, really stylish when it comes to the. Comes to the end of this. I know in his video, you kind of catch a little bit of a good rear view of him. I mean, this thing, he. He's not the biggest right now, but, I mean, this thing's definitely got some mass to him. I mean, he's. He's got a great leg. I mean, this thing moves really good. I mean, he's got a great temperament. I mean, man, he's got that cobra front end. That is. That is the biggest thing for me. I love seeing that Cobra front end on that thing. I think he's going to do some real good out there.
A
Yes, sir. Well, lot fives next, another Ben Pray inside calf out of a female that y' all call 7108, which is a general on 620 that y' all purchased from Mr. Horn. And just in terms of the bottom side, that's a extremely, extremely sought after ma. But I think that goes to show just exactly what that genetic line can do in terms of prospect show steers. Because this one reads to be more than just ideal slick and steer in terms of really, truly AOC or potential Lemmy. Again, I'm not a classifier, but I, I think the calf just any way, any breed in terms of an exotic. I think the calf's body shape shape up high in tandem with that kind of width of pin set and lower quarter and stifle shape alongside his feet and legs, he's going to have an awful good day somewhere.
B
Yes, sir. Completely agree with you there. He's got. This calf is just a completely massive package. I mean, right now he's not the biggest in the bunch. We got them all together. So I mean, he kind of looks a little bit smaller than the rest, but I mean this dude has just got a ton of top. He's got a ton of ton of rear. I mean this dude is going to be a powerhouse somewhere. And you know, I do. I would love to see this thing make it all the way out to say Austin or Houston. Give him that time to get up there and you know, maybe rock the top of the light, top of the lightweights. You know, I would love to love to see this calf make it all the way there. I think he's going to be there and he's going to be really good for someone.
A
Yes, sir. Lot six is next. Another Ben Praying sired calf on a business done right. Popsicle620 female. I think in terms of Fort Worth prospects, I think this is the best one of the sale. I think his hair coat is beautiful. I think his color will help him stand out, especially with what we talked about at the postgame with Mr. Frank Ward. But in terms of the calf as a whole, his feet and legs are incredible. I love his hip and hind leg posture. But in coupled with that, in terms of his depth of rib, his ratio from fore rib to flank, and especially just how tidy his chest is and the way he is so unique about his front one third. Talk to me about the calf and what you think.
B
Yes, sir. These, these calves that all go Back to that popsicle620 female we got from horn a long time ago. We bred her to business on, right, and got this catch mama. And man, she's just always. She's always been, you know, number one in my heart and my pasture. I mean, she's. She's been. She's definitely been a favorite. So her first calf ended up being a really stylish heifer. I sent her to Matt, and Matt just fell in love with her, was hoping, hoping, and he steered and like, nope, that's a heifer, my goodness. So we bred her back the same way and got this guy here. And like you said, I mean, this guy really puts it together. He's awesome on his feet and legs. Great in that front one third. These popsicle 620 calves, they don't always start out being just these phenomenal things. When they're born, you kind of, you know, they're almost ugly to look at the second they're born. But, man, the older they get, the better they are. They pour it on. They got big guts. And this, this cat's no different. I mean, he. He definitely didn't come out my favorite, but he's definitely growing on me. And he's definitely got that big middle and he's got a lot of great pieces.
A
Lot seven is next. Another Ben pray and sired calf. And obviously I can understand why you utilize the bull so heavy just because he knocks them out left and right quality. But this calf reads to be like a simbra classifying steer. I could be wrong, but just in terms of his markings, his ear set, and the shape to his sheath, I think that this calf going and running as a sim bra could make it again. I'm not a classifier, so don't quote me on that, but I believe just as an ABC as well, this calf has a lot of upside potential. I love the calf silhouette. From profile, he does read to be a little green, but that doesn't work to his demise. Because I think green calves with feet and legs like that can be pushed all the way. And when they hit 12 o', clock, they're extremely fresh.
B
Yes, sir. Yeah, this is definitely this calf. I mean, he was a little green at first, and then, you know, he's really put it on, especially on picture day. This calf is a little bit faster than the rest in the sail, we'll say. I mean, he's not. He's not bad by any stretch, but he's definitely a little faster. And I definitely would recommend maybe a little bit more show Me a little experience on them. But you know, if, if you watch his video, this, this cat keeps his head up. He's definitely, he's real cocky. I really like how he ties, ties it all together. I mean this, he's definitely been a really fun calf to work with and it was really awesome on clip day. You know, whenever you start peeling back some of that calf hair and all that stuff and you get to feel that out behind. I would love to see him potentially hit the semblance. But if you don't make it in Sundar's man rocking with ADC and I think he's going to hold his own. He's going to do just fine.
A
Yes. Nate is next. A Texas red sired calf that's out of a female that's work of art, which would be a masterpiece on a bdr. This calf in my mind, I think with the right showman to get his head and neck presented the right way in tandem with this calf just reading to be easy feeding and coasting him along to the right slick show. I think this calf will have a very big contention to get a brand and make a family happy for sure.
B
Most definitely this calf definitely not lacking in the muscle department. He's definitely got it going on on his top and his. But then to your point, I would love to get a showman who can keep that head up, you know, help clean up that make his front end look a little bit, a little bit cleaner than it is. It's definitely going to take some work keeping that front end super clean. But I mean, definitely a cat that's not lacking in, in the groceries and he's got the mass, he's got the feed, got the movement. He's not going to, he's not going to fall apart on you. I really, really like these work of art calves, especially out of the 6039. She's done so well for us. You know that, that, that cross has produces several females and I really like this calf. I mean, yeah, he's a little dirty in front of but I mean, man, check him out behind the shoulder as he goes back. I really, really like this calf and I think he's going to be there maybe in San Antonio, so.
A
Absolutely. I completely agree. Lot 9 is next. This is going to be a Texas red on a female from KSIS which would be the Y81 girt prospect. In my mind. I think this calf has got a lot of upside in terms of running as a girt. I do believe that this calf with a little time tlc and getting pushed on feet. His feet and legs can hold it. And I think the calf is a slick sheeran one. He's definitely in contention. I mean, I feel as if in the middleweights, I don't read the calf to be a heavyweight, but again, I don't think that works. Someone's got to win the middleweights, and someone's got to be up there at the top end of them for sure.
B
Yes, sir. This, the, this whitey, one female that he's out of, she goes back to the cases. Why do one cow, which is an uno girt main cross? So, I mean, I definitely think this calf slides in the dirt fairly easily. And like you said, he's a little, little bit greener. I need some time in the feed bump and, you know, I think this thing can get there to that middleweight, and I think he can rock and roll. He's got the guts, he's got the pieces. He just needs a little time and a little love and he's going to be there.
A
Well, the last steer to round out the sale in Lot 10 is a Texas red out of a auto power cow. And also, this calf reads to be like a slick sharing beast. He reads to be really shapely up high and also extremely wide out of his pin set with a big hip and awesome lower quarter stifle shape. But I do like his hind leg as well. And I think coupled with that, this calf can be pushed. And I think that this calf, well, at being a San Antonio prospect, could definitely have an awesome day.
B
Most definitely. I would love to see this calf end up at San Antonio. And you read him correctly, man. He's. He's. He's got mass. He's got big top, big rear, good feet and legs and moves. Fun. On picture day.
A
His.
B
She didn't necessarily want to cooperate with us. He's. I would strongly encourage anyone to come out to the pins and come check this guy out. He definitely relaxes that sheath and he's definitely got it all there. We stand behind this cat. He'll be. He'll be there. He'll be good. Don't. Don't let the fact that he had that thing sucked up for his video. Don't let that thing stay in this. This thing's got a sheath and it's definitely prominent enough. I strongly suggest someone come look at him in person and can see it.
A
Awesome. Well, with that said, we went over all the lots with you, and I hope that we provided any clarity to anybody that's interested in the lots. Obviously, this happens on April 4th on SE Online Sales. Ethan, is there anything else that you'd like to tack on before we wrap up the preview?
B
I would just. We just want to, you know, have everyone, you know, come check out the sale, watch it. Don't, don't. Don't get discouraged. Just. Just follow it to the end. You know, we had a lot of calls. A lot of people come look, and we're very excited with all the positive feedback we've gotten talking about these calves. For the folks that have already been out and folks that have called, you know, it's been a. It's been a great, great year for us. It's kind of an odd year. You know, had 85% bull calves, not a whole lot of females this year. So, I mean, we really went through those. Went through those bull calves and really filtered out, and we. We picked these 10 to kind of rise to the top, but we didn't want to put any problem. Problem calves or any. Anything that we thought was questionable. We really, you know, sifted through to get these 10 to. To present to all these folks out here, and we're. We're super excited about them.
A
Absolutely. For sure. Well, grateful for the opportunity to be able to represent y'.
B
All.
A
Cattle look awesome again, like Ethan said, I'd highly encourage anybody to give a call to them and reach out to them. I think it's always important to contact the breeder, especially before sale day and especially really, truly, if you have the opportunity to go look at the cattle yourselves. I think cattle look a lot different, and I say that in a good way if you go look at them in person as well. So with that said, extremely grateful for the opportunity, thankfully. And so, Mr. Almanza, we appreciate the business empowerment's here. We'll see you all next time, sir.
B
Thank you.
