A
All right, we got another preview.
B
I'm stoked for this one because there's.
A
Two individuals on this that I have.
B
Looked up to for quite some time. Both of them are very good friends of mine and huge supporters of the platform. They've got 25 lots of club calf steers that are absolutely phenomenal. If you have not seen it on steer bidder yet, you probably need to go check it out or you're missing out. It happens on February 14. It is Reed Vessel ranches. I got Reed Vessel and Junior Garcia on here with me tonight. We're gonna start off with having them.
A
Introduce themselves to the platform, talk about.
B
Reed vessel ranches a little bit. And then after that we're gonna dive.
A
Into the lots with you.
C
Okay, thanks, Weston. Guys, this is Reed. Vestal on here is also Junior Garcia who runs everything on a day to day basis there at the, at the ranch. He's taking care of all the mama cows for us and babies and whatnot. And he's actually the, the brains behind the operation. So a little bit about rvr. We, you know, we have a ranch in Kansas that we run about 700 mama cows. We've gone from about 350 to 700 over the last 12 months. And so we've really, really ramped up. We've been primarily known for our American breed calves in the past, but over the last three or four years, we've been really ramping up our European cross and breed cattle. I believe this year, this set that we're about to sell here in the next couple weeks is representative of our focus on trying to get these elite European cross cattle, crossbred cattle into our program and pretty excited about this set that we have right here. Yeah.
B
Yes, sir. How about you, Junior?
D
Yeah, like Reed mentioned, Junior Garcia here, herdsman, ranch manager, wear many hats. Yeah. Like Reed said, I mean, it's. It's a set that we're very, very excited about. We're proud to stand behind them. It's been, you know, a long time in the making and finally kind of starting to see some, some results of racking our brains of how to get these cows bred. And fortunate to have a set that we're pumped about. So.
B
Absolutely. Well, with that said, quite honestly, not a better way. You could start off the sale with lot one. He's a. How great thou art out of The Smith Carroll 606. That 606 by far has been super profound in the industry. Y' all say he's a Kansas City to Fort Worth size, so probably a little Bigger than his contemporaries, obviously. He's a full sib to many champions. If y' all want to talk about him and discuss him, what do y' all project him to look like, where you'd like him at and stuff like that. And we'll go from there.
C
Sure. So, yeah, the 606 cow is kind of near and dear to our heart. I know the day in which I was actually bidding on her when Brad was selling half interest on her, we were the contending bidders on her. So, so it's all kind of came around and unfortunately she's gone and made history. And so sometimes coming in second place is terrible. And we came on second place at 6:06. I was, I was sitting at El Tiempo on the phone with Chris Rosa. And so it's, it's, it's a, you know, it's kind of hurts my heart when we missed out on her for, for how incredible she's became since she sold. But, you know, know, but it's all comes back around. We're big 606 fans and we, we actually, we actually got this cat from Brad, Brad Smith actually raised this one. He hit me really, really hard as a baby and we, we, we couldn't leave without him. So we got him, you know, very, very, very big fan of this one. Obviously full sib to many, many champs, including the most recent champ grand champion market steer at Denver a week or two ago. This thing is perfect colored. He had the huge hair. He actually started shucking over the last couple weeks. Actually last month he had monster hair, but he has all the, you know, has all the makings of being a champion. I mean, he is perfect structured and I mean, comes out of his shoulder blades super, super high, super stout. You can mash the gas on this one. I mean, if you wanted him to weigh 1550 or 1600 pounds, he could, I mean, but he's ideal in that, call it 1450-1550 range and really run, run at them. I, I think this is without question one of the best kevs we've ever had our hands on. And I think in the right home, this, this kev is going to really make some noise. And not only at the end point. I mean, he could be something that's incredibly fun throughout the year, showing throughout the year and, and winning. So we are very, very big fans of this one and they're at home. He is going to, he's going to make some major noise, in our opinion.
B
Absolutely. Junior, what's your thoughts?
D
Yeah, I know just to add.
A
To.
D
What Reed said, I mean that the caffeine, easy lead, I mean it's pretty easy to see. I mean you can scroll through the additional pictures, you can scroll through the video. I mean obviously we encourage everybody to come out and check these things out. We didn't mention it before but you know, by design. Our sale location for the time being is here in Tolar, Texas. We're less than 45 minutes away from the, from the showgrounds. Trying to make it convenient for everybody to get their eyes on these things. But obviously the calf, we're very, very high on them. Feet and legs are awesome dispositions a plus. Plus he knows he's a show calf. He's cocky, he's arrogant. Big legs, big feet. I mean he's. I don't know, there's. You can go on and on about the calf but I mean he's, I don't know, he, he was bred to, bred to be big time and we're super pumped to have an opportunity to be behind him so.
B
Absolutely. Well, with that said in lot two.
A
You got an in.
B
God we trust over the crop. 108. She's a broker.
A
I 80.
B
Obviously this one's probably a little smaller in terms of his frame size. Probably a little younger. So y' all are thinking Denver to Oie is probably one of his better end points in terms of his feet and legs. I mean I'm in love with them. His hip and hind leg structure is awesome. And with that said, I mean looks like a really good dual purpose calf. So if you don't want him haired, I bet he slicks off like a champ as well. What do y' all think?
C
Yeah, when we were at Kropa's place, we saw this one immediately and we had to have him. We didn't want to really show our cards off too hard. But he, he is without question one of the best dual purpose cats we have in the cell. I mean I think he could slick incredible because he has the big, big hip and the big legs and the perfect structure. He also is just a look. He has a look of the feeding kind. Just the way that he's kind of he hard muscle but soft in the structure and carries his belly down low. So he's, he's got a lot of different end points. I think that he is going to be one stout, burly, big footed animal when it's all set and done. And again he projects to be a heavyweight. Definitely a little bit smaller than the first red one, but that's just because there's a little bit of difference in age. But this, this kef is we think is big time hair or slick. He's going to work in many different endpoints and you know, he's going to be at the top of his class where he, wherever he goes. So pretty, pretty big fan of him. He also, if you go and read his skull, I mean, he is one wide skull creature and that's usually an indicator of how stout these things will get and continue to get. And he is wide from, from, from. From eye socket to eye socket. It's pretty impressive. So we, we, we really like this calf. And again, in the right home, this thing could really do some, some, some major damage. And I think Junior can speak to this one even more so than I can.
D
Yeah, no, he's, he's appealing just because obviously he's dual purpose. But you know, his color allows him to show several different breeds, you know, that color. And the limmy deal seems to get along pretty well consistently. Kev's attitude again is great. I don't know, I mean, you know, pretty flawless. Easy to, easy to really tie in here and, and feel like you got something you'd be proud of the whole way through. So.
B
Absolutely. Well, with that said, you got a black and white Peyton. Lot three. He's a. How great thou art over the RCC Daky Marsh 980. I don't know if I said Docky's last name right.
C
I might have messed that up.
B
That's hard to pronounce.
A
Okay. To that family.
B
I do apologize. I did not mean to mess that up. I'm sure y' all are gonna listen.
A
With that said, with that said, he's.
B
About the same, I guess age or frame size of lot two. So y' all are thinking Denver to Oye. Honestly, this thing hair, I don't think. You can't not show him, show him haired. I mean that is a big haired, huge featured animal. I mean, y' all obviously state that he's the stoutest one of the group. I mean his feet and legs are huge. But what's even neater is his flank line. I mean just his depth of body and how big his rib cage is is truly impressive to me.
C
Yeah, he, he. His full brother and petri dish mate was Wade's high seller this year. And anyway, we saw that one, we saw this one. He's like, this one's just as good and he was just not having as good of days as, as, as the other ones out there. And so we were got we got really fortunate to end up with this one. I mean he has everybody every, every, every day since the day we've gotten him. He's only gotten better. I mean he is massive haired. But even if you took this hair off, I mean you could go run at the mains at San Antonio Houston with this one or you can just keep it going and go to Oie and be big hair to Oie. I mean he's out of one of the best cows in the country. 980 is easily a top five cow in the entire country right now. She is, she is really been on a war path and I'm in love with that cow. I literally text Mitch Dakey probably once a month trying to flush her. And so this is big time genetics here. This thing is elite, I think a Fort Worth middleweight. Call it class 8 to 10, 8 or 9 somewhere around there. He could be extremely deadly. Or you can just keep on going, taking the San Antonio or Houston and feel like you got something really good to, to, to make a run or take him to Oie and he'll be, you know, he'll be a heavyweight and big time at Oye. So I mean this thing is extremely dual purpose. I mean, come check him out in person. You, when you look at his picture, you think that this thing is. Dr. Just because it is just obscene how big his feet and legs are. It's just, just in. He is a very unique animal. A little, he'll require a little bit of managing just because he's just so out there, but with a little bit of management. This thing is, this thing's bred to win and win big. And so I mean I saw him yesterday and, and I mean he makes your heart pump big time. So I like this thing a lot. And Junior can talk to a lot.
D
More about him too. He's, he's definitely a show pony. I mean again, another one that's very cocky. Balance is incredible. You know, just enough chrome to, to always know where that calf set in the lineup. And I think he's one that gets along all year long. Like Reed said, I see this thing as a middleweight player at Fort Worth. Obviously he's got the shape and the muscle and all the attributes to be a big time sheeran1. But his hair quality is so incredible. And it's the stuff that, you know, us guys that like to clip these things get fired up on it and he's, he's a show calf. I don't know. I'm a big, big fan of this calf. He's he's, he's way high up on my list in terms of, you know, the set we got selling here, so.
B
Awesome. Awesome.
A
Well then in lot four you got.
B
Another gold colored one. Same scenario. I mean honestly, this thing is a slick to me, makes me drool. I mean this thing reads to be so burly and dense just in terms of his rib cage and hip size. And he still moves incredible in the video. Talk to me about him, what his story is. Obviously he'd be turn. He'd be out of that 6005 which you got several in here that are out of that cow as well. So talk to me about what he, what he is and since birth, I mean y' all said he's been a standout, so.
C
Yeah, no, we finally figured out how to use 605, 6005. I mean she's had a lot of good ones in the past, but this how great on 6005 was incredible. And this is actually the first in God we trust that we've ever had out of her and this is the only one we've had. And boom, out comes this thing with a little star on his head. And so yeah, I mean this, this cow was, I think she was the highest selling cow at the first class sale back in 2019 for $85,000. I mean she is a, you know, she is rurally bred. She's a maternal sib to. Holy smoker. Maternal sib to a bunch of big time animals. So I mean down the line this thing has got backed by massive genetics. And this calf is just big footed, cool necked, big bodied. And what's crazy is it's like he still looks green. I mean he looks good in the picture, he looks good in the video. But I'm telling you, this thing's got a ton of room to just keep on getting better and better. And so I think you're right. I think he's a heck of a slick sheer calf based on the way he comes out of his hip and how his belly is and you know, how big footed he is and the way that his build just reads slick. But don't get it twisted. He has big hair and could be very, very compell competitive in the hair deal. Could go semi with that little white dot in his head. He could go semi if you wanted to. But he's good enough to run at the AOC deal if, if you'd like to go that direction or, or any other breed if you think you get them into it. But very, very versatile animal out of an incredible cow. He's the first of I think six brothers in this cell and every one of them are good. So backed by big genetics. Yeah, this thing is, you know, if I had a kid showing of showing age myself, this was probably one that we would be feeding just because I know the upside and the caliber this calf is since he was born.
D
So yeah, genetics here that cows obviously one we're, we're very, very high on, as you can see through the sale or progeny or, or you know, I mean it's what it takes to, for a cow like that to make a name for herself like you attributed there at the beginning. This is how I like them. I mean, choke neck, big bodied, squishy feet. He's stout, color's awesome. Several different endpoints. Again, another dual purpose, one that's versatile. We're pretty high on this calf. He's, he's gonna be one that I think you can just pour the feed to and, and like feel like he gets better and better as time goes on. So we're another one we're pretty excited about for sure.
B
Well then Lot 5, he'd be a full sib to multiple down at the end of the sale. And obviously, I mean that is unique, structured, high tying, neat chested creature. And I love the way he moves in his video. I mean that's a big ankle and he still moves and flexes it right at the surface. So talk to me about that calf and why he's in lot five.
C
Yeah, this is probably the best 6005 cat that was, that was on the ground as a baby this year. I mean he is just out, you know, big time, flashy, got big, big pieces. I mean he's bred to be a heavyweight killer. He's, he's green. He's still green. I mean he is not like, he is not like absolutely just fed out the gill and fat for this cell. We don't like doing that. We like them to be a little bit more natural and, and not put too much gas on them. But that's why we call them the highest upside animal because I think once you start mashing on the gas on this thing, he might end up being the best calf in the entire cell because when he was born this was, this might be the best animal that, that, that we've ever seen as a, as a week old baby. So he is, he's pretty, he's pretty fancy. You know, again, he's, he's, if he was in and if, if we had a kid old enough to show and we felt like we needed to go and win something. I think you'd look pretty damn smart once you get this thing to £1450. I think he's going to be elite. Yeah. When it's all said and done.
D
Yeah, I like this one. And obviously hair quality's elite. But the way this thing's put together just in terms of balance and style. Long choke neck. If he continues to do what he's done here, call it the last 30, 45 days. I mean I could see this thing being a player as in the on the black division at one of the sleeping shows. I mean he's, he's cocky. Feet and legs are awesome. I don't know. It's hard not to just like back off of that one from the profile and feel like you gotta, you gotta hammer on the other end of the rope there. I mean that Kev's like reach a very, very high upside. It'd be interesting to see how this calf feeds. So.
B
Absolutely. Well then I mean y' all mentioned unique care quality. I think Lot 6 got him has got him beat. I mean that thing is big time shag.
A
He's a here I am out of.
B
The cow that you read own with Mr. Ryman there and y' all list him as a Fort Worth OIE. I mean that thing's. That thing's shag is insane to me. But what I love the most about him is how neat his neck ties into the top side of his should and how big his hip is in the video. I mean that thing is truly impressive in terms of his silhouette from the side.
C
Yeah. 903 we bought half interest in a few years ago from Barry out of the pasture because his size, his high seller was here I am 903 that we bought. And I mean he was a 50 plus thousand dollar animal and he was absolutely built incredible. And I says I got to be a part of that cow. And it's put a hurt into the pocketbook for sure. But we have had a lot of good calves out of this thing. Bears had multiple high sellers since then. Multiple champs out of that steel. The grand, the grand calf at the Kansas State fair was a full sib to this calf. We have a calf that's going to be showing at Fort Worth that's big time that we think can run at Fort Worth in the Angus division because he ended up having being Angus headed. But big time Kev, that's a full sib to him. So this big genetics here. Every one of them are huge haired it's insane. Big, big hair and big, big muscles. And yet you're right. This thing is, has a neck a mile long, but it's not so long and so refined where you don't think he's the feeding cat. If you go and take a look at this thing, he is, he is chunky made and boxy. Yeah, I'm, I'm a pretty big fan of this one. Funny enough, this, this kef has an Angus looking head. If someone knows what they're doing and figure it out, I mean, you could, you could feed this thing to be a middleweight or heavyweight at Fort Worth next year. And if you get him an Angus deal, it might already be over, I'm not sure, but it doesn't really matter. As an exotic, he is elite as well. I mean, hell, the best, the best Angus is that when Fort Worth can go win their classes at Fort Worth too. So it doesn't really matter. But yeah, he's, he's pretty neat. The cool thing is if you took the hair off of him, he might be the widest pin animal in the entire cel. I mean, he is, no doubt. He, he is a massive ass animal with big, big muscles. And so yeah, I like this one. He's been good since the day he was born and we're excited. Whatever home he goes to, we want to continue to be a part of this one.
D
Yeah, I know the capsule, freaky air quality is unreal on this one. It's, it's the good dense stuff that holds shape and black Creed mentioned. I mean, he's, he seems to be, you know, he's black and smooth pulled. Seems like he could be an Angus again. There was a brother that was like he was second a little behind the grand and then went on to be the champion at the Kansas Beef Expo. I mean the, yeah, the Kansas Beef Expo king of the ring deal. I mean that, you know, obviously the mating's proven, the cow's incredible. We all know here I am as a king in terms of the show steer world right now. So, I mean there's, there's a lot of things going for this calf, but no, he's, he's one that's definitely unique. Catches your eye. He's, I don't know that kind of catalyst. Very, very hard to make. So.
B
Absolutely. Well, with that said, I mean, lot seven, that, that one's build is awesome. And I've seen a lot of say no mores here recently in person and obviously visually just through sales and their build to me is, is extremely Hard to replicate. And this one reads to be just a little greener compared to his contemporaries in the sale. But I think that's okay. And I think there always a sleeper and but with that said, obviously you know he's been a victim of shucking is what y' all say. But I want people to know, I mean obviously hair is a good thing and you want that to be gorgeous, whatever. But I mean this thing's build in the way he ties himself together from the profile obviously reads to be extremely unique. And I think, I mean muscle shape wise in shape in general. I mean he looks like he could slick off and be a real nice black cross at Houston or Austin.
C
Yeah, I agree with it. And your read is right on them. I mean this kev is out of 001, which Robbie Van Hoes the high seller this year was a double O1. And his high seller last year, which is one of the best kevs I've ever seen in my life, was a double O1 as well. I mean his mother is without question a top three cow in the country. We recently bought into her in the last couple of months. We bought half interest her half interest from Corey Thompson on it. And so we're partners with Robbie on her. And this say no more kef we felt like was one of the best calves that he had in his cell. And Rob said after the sale he thought this was the best kev that he had in the entire cell. Unfortunately this thing is shut hardcore in the last 30, 45 days. I mean he had the big, big dense hair and I think you're right, these Santa Morris are stout and big, big legged. I mean that's a how great out of a Kelly clone 75 one. That bull's going to be a big, big time bull. And so that mating works really, really good on 001. This cast build is, is impeccable. He is big legged and big footed and he's got that feed neck into him. So he's cool neck but has all the ability to be an incredible fat steer. Someone's gonna get a good deal here in my opinion. I don't know what they bring, but I can tell you right now he would have brought double what he's going to BRINGGING probably about 60 days ago when he had hair. I mean look, people aren't stupid. They've been. We've already had several groups come through and every group has found this one. And yet he is shucked here like crazy. And so it's like, well maybe people are seeing what we're seeing because we're big, big fans of this calf and I think with time and feeding allowing to get back his hair quality, someone's gonna look incredibly smart. We, we're, we are massive fans on this one. And again the, the cow on this thing, you know, which, you know, the, the bottom side of these things are incredibly important. This cow is phenotypically the best looking cow I've ever seen in my life. 001. She is absolutely incredible animal. So I love, I love the, the ability and longevity this calf has. I think, I think at 14 to 1500 pounds, this thing's going to look like an absolute rock star.
D
Yeah, there's a, there's a picture of 001 on the additional images there. I mean it's, it's pretty impressive to see the cow in persons. She'll knock your socks off. I mean it's wild to look at. I'm a big fan of 1Oak and obviously she's a 1Oak. So I mean there's, I've gotten along good with those, those genetics. Again, say no more. If you hadn't seen him in person, he is one of the most impressive mature bulls I've ever seen and obviously backed by, you know, how great thou art and, and the Kelly clone. So a lot of stuff going for this calf. It's interesting the amount like Reed mentioned to that, the amount of people that find this calf. You know, we were kind of down the dump so that thing rubbed out, started spitting hair like, oh my gosh. This is going to be one of our sale features and still seems like he might be. I mean the calf is ultra high quality. I think that just alludes to what everyone sees in you. I mean, you know, if he'd have had the big, big time shag right now, it'd be like holy smokes. And he still is big time. But I think it just, it's telling to how good the calf truly is because you can, you can see through the hair and still, you know, feet, legs are incredible from the ground up, killer from the side and he's wide pinned and burly and he's going to be, he's going to be a fat steer that I think somebody's going to be very, very happy that they invested in early on. So.
B
Good for sure.
A
Well then Lot 8.
B
I mean I love this calf. That was one of my picks when I went through it yesterday. Obviously he's an in God we trust out of, you know, the cow that you own with RJ and Dore. Y' all call her one of one. I mean that is a short proportion, short backed and big hipped calf. I mean huge feet and legs that still move. I like that calf quite a bit, honestly. And I mean y' all list him be a Denver to Oie. And I mean with that said, I mean haired or slick. I think the calf's a hammer.
C
Yeah. You know the black and white when we talked about earlier, when we said that, you know, it's one of the best kevs we've ever seen as a seven day old. This one is one of those calves as well. We, we, you know, if, if we had a vote on which what was the best calf as a baby in their first call it 30 days of life. We had been like this one right here, 74, 47, which is lot eight. I mean he's got some massive pieces. Look, his maternal sib is being, is being shown. O' Leary's Jeff o'. Leary. He's a. Here I am out of one of one. And you should ask Jeff, Jeff o' Leary what, what he thinks about what he thinks about this. His calf. I mean they are big time feeding. I mean they go back to Doris's Lot 1, which Doris's Lot 1 has been one of the prolific cows in the country over the last five, six years. Had those two $300,000 Memphis mafias, but all kinds of other high sellers. This cast mom is incredible. She's a rebel out of that lot one. And so this one's an in God rebel lot one. I mean you, you read it exactly correct. I mean he is short back and big ass and perfect footed. I mean he has got the absolute jet front. I mean he is an absolute cocky, the presence animal. What's wild is if you go out there into the pen, he still is green. He has got a massive Runway just to get better and better and better. And if you go and ask Mr. O' Leary how that calf is fed for him, that's out of the same exact cow. And they're gonna probably be taking them either to Austin or Houston this year. I mean this thing, that thing looks like an absolute freight train. He'd tell you, hey, don't bid on him because Mr. Larry might take a run at this one. I mean they are big time feeding animals. So I love this calf a bunch. And I think that in the right home, in the right environment, I mean this thing could belly down and be an absolute monster wherever he goes.
D
So yeah, that cow one of one. I mean it's pretty unanimous when people come to the ranch and look through the cows, it's. It's a pretty unanimous opinion in terms of what cow is like the one that grabs your attention. There's obviously we're very fortunate to have a lot of cows at our place that we're proud of, but one of one is definitely one that's on everybody's list. She is an absolute freak, and it's just a matter of time before she raises one that rings the big bell. But I mean, this one's a very good candidate to do that. You know, obviously there's one showing this year, but. But this one's just got so many different endpoints he can go to. He's versatile. Feet and legs are incredible. Long jack neck, big bodied. All this calf needs to do is just feed getting her out home and get her done. Because I think the calf can be one that, you know, I mean, it dependent on. Obviously there's a lot of factors I gotta go. Right, right.
A
But.
D
But this calf is one that I think you start with and feel very good about your chances here. So.
B
With that said, you got lot nine. He's an in God we trust over the cow that Reed owns with rj and you'll call her Bonnie. I mean, gold colored, but he's got a little white on his face. Who could possibly run semi if you decide to slick him? But hair coat is still really phenomenal. Y' all list him from Louisville to oie. I think he's super dual purpose in terms of just the way his hip is designed, the shape to his topside and his rib cage. But I love the calf in motion as well. I want to hear Yalls thoughts.
C
Yeah. So he's a full sieve to our hostile last year, which was a. A yellow baldy that we sold for $62,000. I mean, you know, this cow that he's out of is absolutely an incredible specimen. Red baldy we bought a few years back from rj. I mean, we have gone all in on this mating. This calf is still green and he has only gotten better. And so he's got awesome hair. I think that he's got enough grow to go to Louisville. But I mean, you could also kind of hold him back and take him all the way to oie. I think you're right. I think he. I think you do show him as a. As a semi in the Texas, you know, the Texas shows and Oklahoma shows or wherever they have semi classification. But he's got really, really good feet and legs. He's, you know, he's built proportionally. Right. I think that, I think that you pound the feet to this thing, I think because he's got the structure to do it and you know, the genetics behind him, which, you know, Bonnie goes back to RJ's, you know, prolific cow. 422 and she's a bankroll. 422. I mean, the genetics out this animal is out the wazoo. He is the one that you go and you can hammer the feed to him and just go, go, go, go. Not a whole lot of managing here. Just press the gas and go. He's got the body and the structure now just feed, feed the daylights out of them because the potential is there. Yeah, yeah.
D
No, again, like I said this, I think you'll, you're starting to see a trend here. I mean, these, these calves are backed by, by big time donor cows. And, and, and honestly, more times than not, it seems like the cows got more to do with this than the bulls do. Not to take any, anything away from the bulls that they're out of because obviously we all know them and they're all greats, but the cows carry a lot of, a lot of weight in that as well. There was a full brother that won his class at Kansas City this year. Unfortunately, that one from last year got injured. So, I mean, who's to say what could have, should have been, you know. But this one's one that keeps growing on us. The calf, again, like I mentioned earlier, I think he's one that gets better every day of his life. Multiple endpoints. I think this one semis all day long and, and, you know, could be a hammer in that, in that breed somewhere down the road.
B
Absolutely.
A
Lot that said, I mean, lot 10 is next. He's an in godly trust. I have to call that is called Rosita. I mean, that thing is huge ribbed and extremely big footed from what it reads to be on the video, with a huge hip and a huge topside. I mean, talk to me about that calf. I think he's got several end points for sure.
C
Yeah. I almost want to let Junior just start out with this one because, you know, I think someone's in love and I love this calf, but maybe we start with Junior and let his heart take over the mic.
D
No, I, I've been a fan of this one since the day we found him. Jared Werning up in South Dakota raised the calf and I mean, when we saw him out in the pasture, I told Reed. I was like, man, that one's that One's got to come home with us. He's, he's a specimen. That cow.
E
She's.
D
She's doing a good job of raising these things, cranking them out. I think they had several full sibs in that sale. There's been some stuff get along already in the past out of that mating. I don't know, man, this calf, he hit me hard. Hair quality is awesome. Another dual purpose versatile one. He could be, you know, I think at Fort Worth, you know, top of the middles, first couple classes of heavies, whichever way you wanted to do. But I thought this thing like as a Lemmy at San Antonio Houston could, could ring the bell. I mean he's, he's on up there one, one that I'm a big fan of. My muscle shape's awesome. He's big bodied, he's burly, big feet, big legs. Just looks like the feeding kind.
C
Yeah, and I'll correct junior. I mean it is a wearing. But it's Scott, but hell.
D
Oh yeah, Scott. Warning.
C
Sorry. Yeah, Scott, but, but yeah, no, this is out of Scott's like very well known Rosita cow. She's, she's done a lot of winning down in Texas already and won several prospect shows. I think she's already hung a banner a time or two in the Houston market. And so, yeah, I mean this thing hit us like a ton of bricks and we're just like, I wonder if we can just load them up and he'd notice, you know. And I mean he is a big bodied animal and body wins these days. I mean that's. If you don't have the body, you're not going to win. And this thing is going to be one of the biggest body animals wherever he goes. And big, big stout, stout ass. I mean just, he's got all the features. What's cool about him is you can read it into his neck. He is a, he is the feeding kind. I mean he is going to be plenty big. You can, you can. I think you do Lemmy at San Antonio with this thing or Houston. I mean obviously you can do char or AOC with, with him as well. But his shape reads and the way that he just built tells me, man, this thing would be one hellacious Lemmy at San Antonio Houston. But a lot of end points. This is a very, very high quality feeding cast and one that we were very fortunate to get from Scott Werning. And again, the cow is, is an elite cow. I mean probably his best cow that he has on his place. So we're tickled to death to have him a part of the cell. He's, he's, he's very, very high quality for sure.
A
Well then you got your first silver calf that you offer here in the sale in lot 11. He's an in God we trust out of the cow that y' all own called 600. And obviously y' all state this is the best, best mating that y' all have had. The best calf out of this mating. And I, I mean y' all mentioned the slick shearing kind in the last lot. This one screams that in my opinion. I mean this thing at Houston in The chars or AOCs, I think is a really, really hard calf to be.
C
Yeah, no, look, we, we, this we conventional flesh first 600 is without question the best here I am cow I've ever seen. And there's been some good ones. But she is the biggest bodied here I am that has ever walked this earth. Okay, She's a. Here I am out of emblazon Irish whiskey. That blazon Irish whiskey came from Griswold camp. And so she is specimen. The funny thing is is we flushed her conventional and guess what? Heifer. Heifer. Heifer. Heifer. Heifer. And so we haven't had a lot of steers out of this thing and then bam, out pops this one. We're like finally, look, we've kept every one of those 600 daughters that are in gods. I mean a couple, one of our high sellers last year was out of a in God 600. A full sip of this calf. And so there's big time potential here. It should be an easy flushing, easy doing kind. But this thing has got huge pieces. I mean big time slicks here in pieces. When the hair comes off, this thing is going to look like an absolute freight train. I mean he is cool neck, big footed. He has got a big hip in him. I mean he has the massive groove, you know, top line, big bodied. Yeah, I, when I, when I saw him this, this weekend, I was like what is that thing? What is that thing? And Junior's like, oh, that's that 600. I mean he's just, he's just that good. And man, I, I think you're right. I think San Antonio, Austin, Houston or even oie. That thing is going to look really, really special in, in one of those AOC or, or, or, or char classes. So I'm, I'm, I, I like this thing a bunch.
D
Yeah, no, don't, don't get him out in the hair either. I mean that's the kind of calf that wins several county fairs early. You know, that first part of the year, Texas hair quality is awesome, but no, that's. That calf is a very, very safe bet. Easy feeding one. That thing's back is massive. Muscle shape's awesome. Feet and legs are impeccable. That's just the kind, easy feeding kind that, you know, everyone can get fired up on all year long. The next lot, lot 12 is a full brother to him. And again, just another easy feeding, dual purpose, versatile calf that like Reed's alluded to. I mean, that. That end, God, 600 works. There's a reason why we keep doing that. There's a brother that will show later this spring that we sold last year. That's kind of one of the first bulls out of that mating. And. And I don't know, man, we can. We can go on and on about that mating, but that cow is one of my favorite cows when. When I first came on at rvr and. And proofs in the pudding here. I mean, that's proven genetics at its best, for sure.
C
Yeah. No, yeah, the.
D
The.
C
The next, you know, lot 12, he's. He's a meat and potatoes type of calf. I mean, he is. He is a very, very safe cat. Big, big, swoopy belly, pretty stout. He can work at a lot of county fairs and then go on to one of the majors or if you want to go and try to win a county fair. I mean, this calf has got all the makings to do it. He's just. He's the cattleman's kind. I mean, he is. He. He has got the production in him. You know, he is big, big body, the easy flushing and big, big footed. And so this is the kind that you maybe ralgro a time or two and let him get even stouter because he's got the.
D
The.
C
The body and the structure to withhold that this is just a very solid a animal that should feed out really, really easy. And that's. That's lot. Lot 12. Yeah.
B
Awesome. Awesome.
A
Well, with that said, I mean, lot 13 is next, and it's an amazing grace out of Pippy that y' all call. And I mean, I've. I've seen several amazing graces that I've been a huge fan of, and he's worked for both the exotic breed and Americans. But y' all list that he's good to go for Kansas City to Fort Worth, and obviously he's a little smaller frame size, probably a little younger, but I don't think that's anything to take away from his quality at all. That's a big hit. Big ribbed calf that's got huge feet and legs and moves them, right?
C
Yeah. So lot 13, which, believe it or not, he might be the oldest calf in the cell, but that's the reason why he's going to be probably a Class 1 or Class 2 at Fort Worth next year. I mean, he is his mama. We bought from David Bridges. This was David's best cow and he, he sold a few donors maybe a year or two ago. And this was actually, this is actually a natural calf out of Pippi. And she's a 1 oak, solid gold. I mean, she is one of the dirtiest animals you've ever seen in your life. I mean, massive hair. I mean, looks like a highlander and in just big, big bones and big, big feet. You know, you have to like, you have to breed her to a pretty clean bull so they don't come out too insanely crazy looking. But Amazing Grace obviously worked on her. This thing right here is going to be one badass class one, class two calf. I mean, he is built just right. You know, just feed him along, get them to a thousand to, you know, eleven hundred pounds. And you know, hey, guess what? They still pay the same in class one and class two at Fort Worth. And this calf is going. I mean, he might be the safest bet in the entire cell as far as a cell hole at Fort Worth. I mean, this is the kind that goes in and wins the lightweight division or wins, you know, or is in the top 10 in Class 1 or 2 at Fort Worth. You know, he is, he's built right. He is going to be one hairy, hairy, hairy animal and just the big, big feet and big, big belly. I mean, he's a, he's a. This is a safe bet if you want to go try to brand one at Fort Worth in Class 1 or Class 2. Hop on to Ms. Pippi's KEF right here.
D
Out.
C
Amazing Grace.
D
Yeah. No, he's a. He's tricked out and like I said, he's a. He's a safe bet to go get the, you know, highly coveted F on the cheek at Fort Worth. We're all hoping to have plenty of those this week. But no, this thing's legs are massive. His hair is incredible. I don't know. He's just a show cap and he knows it too. He's cocky and arrogant and all that. But no, I mean, all this one needs is a, you know, a showman willing and ready. Because I Think he can, he can accomplish a lot of things and, and always, you know, and his size allows him to always look fresh. He's gonna look good all year long. He's gonna get along plenty. But not like Kiff. He. We look for him to make some noise next year at Fort Worth for sure.
A
Absolutely. Well then, another white calf in lot 14. He's an in God We Trust out.
B
Of the crop 801.
A
I mean, y' all list it from Denver. Oye should be where his end points are. And I think he's got a variety of those. I mean, Hairdorf slick. I mean the calf's got the muscle shape and type to be really competitive in the Chargers or AOCs come San Antonio Houston. But I think Herod at Fort Worth in a class, you know, middleweight, 8 to 10 range or even at Oye as a heavyweight. I think he works pretty much everywhere. Just depends on what the family that ends up with him wants to do.
C
Yeah, I'm gonna let Junior take this one too because this one, this one he is, he is, his heart is. His heart is in love with this thing. And so I'm gonna let Junior take the mic on this calf.
D
Yeah, no, this, this one hit me hard when we found him. Again, obviously we're very fortunate to, to be involved with, with some of the bigs in this industry. Greg Kropa needs no introduction. That guy's cow herd is probably second to none in terms of the club calf industry. And everyone, everyone that's anybody seems like they've got something that goes back to Cropa Genetics. We actually have a full sib to this one's mother there at the ranch that, that we're going all in on. So it was a no brainer when we had the opportunity at this calf. Like you said, hair's awesome. Do I think he can be competitive at Fort Worth? Absolutely. But to me, I see this one on the green turf at San Antonio on the Charolays. Like I love this calf. Feet and legs are awesome. Long neck, but big, square, punchy ass.
E
I mean he's.
D
The calf's awesome. I'm a big big fan of this one. Like I said, dual purpose, huge back, big muscles. I think the calf gets along all year long and feel like we got a shot to go to go ring the, ring the bell at San Antonio on the turf.
C
Yeah. Yep. I completely agree with Junior on this lot 14 is like he's got the slicks year build there. There's no question. You could probably get him stuck in a cell hole At Fort Worth. But man, I think this thing at Austin, San Antonio or Houston could be like lights out. This is the slick shearing type kind of.
E
I mean.
C
Oh, I. He'd be awesome too. He'd be a heavyweight at Austin or OIE and look awesome. But yeah, I think this thing at San Antonio, Houston could be like insane. Yeah. This cow which is 801, we actually own a cow that's we call 800 or we call our 1810 at the house. But they're out there perfect tens with which if you're very familiar with the MIMS program, MIMS has all those out there perfect tens and perfect 10 which cropa. Those are all Cropa genetics. And so Greg, Greg has some of these out there perfect tens at his place. And and so this is the bottom side of this kef is like elite, elite stuff. And and then obviously in God worked on this one. I mean he is he in the right home, in the right setting and in manage the right way. This calf could be something, something special when it, when it's come to come time to show them at the end.
A
So yeah, well you say something special and not to take away from Lot 14 but I think that's the exact definition of Lot 15 point highlight. He's a full sib to greater good. So if that doesn't say anything to someone then need to tune back in because this one's a How great thou art over the cow. You own it horn. 6261 lightweight deluxe right here. I mean that is a big footed, big boned rascal. It's got a huge hip and rib cage. I mean I think hair door slick. I mean this thing's incredible.
C
Yeah. So Stetson Wiss and his and his dad Casey, they got a couple kevs in this cell and this is one of them. We are massive fans of greater good. We were actually the contending bidder on 62. 61. We. I flew up to Brandon's to go look at that cow and then went to Denver and I ended up coming second and there's another one that I came at second end 6261 and then obviously 606. So. So it all comes back around. Yay. But yeah, I mean this kef is one hellacious in my opinion lightweight Division KEF at Fort Worth. I think he's a Class 3 or 4 but you might slip into 5 or 6. I'm not really sure. Junior might have a different opinion on that. But I mean this calf would look like an absolute specimen At Fort Worth, in my opinion. But you could keep on taking along and maybe be a middleweight at San Antonio or Houston. But he is wild built and he is big ass and he's got big hair and he is big time genetics. And so yeah, when Stetson and his dad put this calf in the cell, we're like, yeah, we'll, we'll take him, we'll take him. You can put him in the cell. Because I, we want our name associated with them and I, I think that this is the type that could absolutely, you know, make a run at like a lightweight division at Fort Worth or, or maybe those, you know, Class 5 or Class 6 at Fort Worth, depending on how he grows. But I think he's a Class 4 Kev and I think he's going to look like an absolute hammer at that time. And Junior's got some opinions on this one as well.
D
Yeah, no, we've, we've been fortunate to develop some really good relationships in this deal like anybody else. I mean you're only as good as the people you're associated with. The west boys, they're high on that list for us. They're close by, but no, they, you know, they've worked with us on some of these things and when they wanted to be part of this deal, we were, we were all in and jumped in. So, no, I mean Greater Good again is another bull that hit me extremely hard. If you ever get the chance to go to 605 and look to those bulls, it's, it's worth your, it's worth.
E
Your time, I promise you. Because you get to see some of the industry greats and, and that Greater Good, he is an absolute specimen.
D
So you know, this thing being a full brother to him, it's like it's a no brainer. But no, like Reed said, I think division one hammer, let's get it on. Obviously he took a lights out picture, but I mean don't, don't sleep on it because in person it's just as impressive. That thing is stout, big legs, long cocky neck, big barreled. I mean, I don't know, it's, it's hard to make kettle like this. He's a cookie cutter show steer, I think. Gets along every time you take him out. Big hair, dual purpose. Not much else needs to be said on this calf.
A
Absolutely. Well, in lot 16 you kind of switch it up and have something a little different and it's a pole Hereford steer and he's a knock, knock out of 601, which 601 is a made r over one of Glover's cows that they call 0454. And I mean for a Hereford, this thing's hair is really, really intriguing. There's not many Herefords that you see with this kind of hair quality. But I mean his build just is just as good. I mean that calf's so big ankled and squishy footed and still moves it all right in motion. I mean. But that thing's rib cage and top shape is awesome to me.
C
Yeah, no, this thing, we have had a lot of interest in this, this animal. I mean it is, we don't, we don't mess with a lot of Herefords, but, but when they look like this, I mean it doesn't matter. You know, he is like, he's a, he is an absolute badass. I've had some of the, the, the biggest Hereford and pulled Hereford people in the country already reach out to him and asking if his nuts are still in them just because they think that highly of them. You know, he has just got some huge pieces. Big, big footed and just big, big bodied and big. I mean he is just, he's a very, that is a very, very hard pulled Hereford to make. And so yeah, we're, we're pretty, we're pretty in on him. It's without question a self feature in my opinion. And yeah, these, this Hereford, Hereford folks. Hereford mafia. You better get in because if you don't, you're gonna probably get beat by this one.
D
Yeah, yeah. No, another, another consignment from the west boys and boy that they show up here. I'll be honest with you man, like, like I don't think it matters what color this one was. He would be a cell feature in this deal. But being that he is that unique in the terms or the way he's colored, it's pretty insane.
E
Like, I mean, I feel like you.
D
Got a chance at winning something every time you take this calf out he's pulled. Which just alludes to like how unique this calf is.0454 of Glover's needs on introduction. I mean she is a big time donor in this industry, has done a lot of good for a lot of people. And then knock, knock. You know, it's a, it's a pretty unique mating. But no, I mean his attitude's awesome. The calf is wild just in terms of the way he's built. Long neck, squishy ankled, big footed. Like, like this one. I don't know. I mean there's, it's, it's pretty intriguing to have A brief steer this caliber in this sale, it's, it's going to be very, very interesting to see how he feeds out, where he ends up, who gets him, because that's a calf that I think could be talked about all year long and, and you're always going to know where he's at for sure.
B
For sure.
A
Well, then lot 17. I'm kind of, I've kind of, I'm kind of biased to Red Angus due to the life that I'm in right now. But that is a burning man out of In God we, out of an In God We Trust cow. Slick shear deluxe. I mean, this thing's shape, size and feature is near perfect for the Texas majors for slick shearing. I mean, this thing is absolutely dense made and robust. I absolutely love, love his color pattern. I love his silhouette from the side and how big featured he is, for sure.
D
Yeah, I kind of spoke out of turn on this one. I kind of just told Reed. I was like, hey, a good buddy of mine in Missouri, Kelton Diggs, he called me, hey, I got a red calf that needs to be in Texas. And I was like, hey, let's just.
E
Put him in the sale because that calf's pretty good. I like Reed said, I've had a very, very good run at some of these breed steers and this one I think could be a shoe in, you know, I mean, a banner is a banner. It doesn't matter what breed we, we try to go swing those banners in. And I do think this one's banner quality, you know, starting at the ground, feet, legs are awesome. Color is incredible. He's an easy feeding, gentle kind. I think he classes all day long.
D
I really do.
E
I mean, his head's perfect. I don't know, he might be too stout, who knows? But it don't matter. Red Cross, Maine, whatever you want to go. That calf's high quality. He's good cattle to be associated with. Again, a super gentle one, easy feeding one. I mean, just, you know, let him do the rest and I think we'll all be happy sitting at a backdrop next spring for sure.
C
Yeah, no, Junior told me about this cat probably a couple months ago and unfortunately I haven't been at the ranch a whole bunch the last couple months with other things going on. And so he, this cat's probably been at the ranch the last 30 to 45 days and, and actually this weekend's the first time I got to see him there in, at our cell location in Tolar. And I was like, I, I was floored. How good this Kev was, and I was like, well, then I need to look at his head. I looked at. I mean, if he doesn't class Red Angus, I give up. So he is. He is Red Angus all day in my eyes. And this is the kind that wins Red Angus deal. I mean, he should. He could probably walk in backwards and win it, in my opinion. I mean, he is just that good. He is. This is really good livestock. Perfect feet, big body. I don't think he's too stout. I think he's just. He's just stout enough to get into Red Angus deal. But he is. His head reads right. His body reads right. This is the kind that goes and. And gets a, you know, gets a shot at least at a breed drive at a Red Angus deal. Whether it's Houston or. Or San Antonio. This. This is a very high quality Red Angus calf. I don't get fired up out of Red Angus cast. And this is a good one. I get fired up about this one. So he's very good. This is a very good calf. And because I was wanting to be a hater on them, and I go out there this weekend and I was like, dang. Junior and Kelton were right. And so, no, we're very fortunate that Kelton brought us this calf. And Mr. Diggs, he's been a huge asset for our program, has helped us a lot over the last couple years, and he brings us a very good calf in this one.
B
Awesome.
A
I'm gonna tack on with what Reed said real quick, but I've definitely seen stouter featured Red Angus in the breed, so I think anybody needs to take their chances for sure and then to move along. Lot 18, it's a black and white calf. I mean, in terms of presence and silhouette from the side, I don't think it really gets any better, but it corresponds with the way he's made. He's a Here I am, eternal maid. That mating in itself, just that pedigree has been known in the industry for quite some time and is known for its success. I'll let Junior and Reed take over, but I think this calf is way, way good.
E
Yeah. No, yeah, it seems like Here I am, eternal made clicks, right? Like, it's. You've probably seen more champions out of that mating than anything here as of late. And like you said, Stetson, that thing's long bodied, freak necked, awesome feet and legs, has just enough color to always catch your attention. And like I said, he's just good stock to be behind. I mean, it's dual Purpose, you know, if you want to shear him, show him as a black or a mane or I guess you could even go see me maybe. I think a foot worth, he's probably class nine or 10, depending on where in the state he ends up. But no, that's good stock there. He's. I don't know, he's just good cattle to be involved with for sure.
C
Yeah, I concur. This is another whist assignment that we have from the Wis. Boys, Stetson and Casey. And I can tell you is he has got really, really good feet. He is, he is one high headed dude and not in the bad way. I mean he's just, he's a show horse, show pony, I think, I think this Kev is the kind that you go and try to win a big time county with and then take them to a major or a big time county. And he's a, you know, and you go and get, you know, 20, 30, $40,000 for a grand or reserve steer at one of these big county shows. It's for some reason to me he's, that's how he reads. But I think he would be a heck of a foot worth kept too. I think he's anywhere from an 8 to 10 as well in my opinion. He's got big hair and he's got the, you got the genetics to back him up. He's a, he's a cool looking animal. I, I think you pour the feed to him and let him get stouter and stouter. He's got the structure to really push on him and, and jam at home if you want for sure.
A
Well then you got another really neat colored one in Lot 19. Dark cherry red one. Told you so. Over quality counts there's been many, many told you so calves that have looked tremendous. But this red one sticks out. And y' all say that in his notes as well. I mean from Denver to Oie. I think he works for sure and honestly, definitely could be dual purpose just with the size of his hip and the size of his back. From what it reads on the video, I could be wrong. Y' all tell me otherwise. But I think this calf has got a lot of endpoints that could work real well.
C
Yeah. So this is another, you know, wiss consignment as well from Stetson and his dad. When, when he came along, we're like this, this is a very, very high quality haircut. We think he is got, I mean he has got big hair, big hair and he's really soft made. I mean he is Going to be one awesome calf to clip when it's all said and done. I mean he is going to look like an absolute show pony. He is perfect color. You know, I don't know if he, I don't know if he shows as a shorthorn. I'm not a, I'm not an expert in that. But if you can't get him in the middleweights of Fort Worth, he'd be insane. But it won't matter. I think he's like a 6 to 8, maybe 5 to 8 at Fort Worth. If you know anything about Fort Worth in the new arena, if you have a red kef, you will stick out like a sore thumb. And this thing is going to look like an absolute beast at Fort Worth in my opinion. I think he'd look awesome at oie. I think he can slick shear but my heart says please take them to Fort Worth and let's go try to place high and look incredible between that class 5 and 8 range. I mean he is a big footed, big haired animal. That's the easy feeding kind. I like this calf a bunch. And by the way, any of these consignment calves that we have in the cell, we're going to continue to stay involved in them. We're going to be helping clip and fit these calves all the way through. And so I want that to be very clear. Anything that we, that other guys put in ourselves, we are heavily involved RVR side and Junior and our crew is going to be taking care of those families at these major shows when it comes time.
E
So yeah, no for, for sure that. I mean the wisp boys, they're, they're at the very top in terms of being able to get these things ready. And you know, we see them as an asset to our operation. This calf has the big gigantic elephant toes.
D
Like he's big footed. We're starting to see some of these told you sos. That bull from Raymond's, that thing's pretty.
E
Unique in the way he's bred. I think he's a. Isn't he?
D
Here I am. Reed.
E
I'm pretty sure he is, but he's a, he's a triple clean. Here I am. And, and these told you so's, I'm, I'm starting to become a fan of them. But they're monster haired. Like I said, the calf's got big, big bones. Just looks like an easy feeding kind. Several different breed points that we could, we could target this thing for. But I think Fort Worth needs to be his day to shine because he does have the incredible big hairs. Calf's super gentle. I think he could be suited for anybody. Yeah, we see him at the top of the middles and again, feel like you've got something that we can all be proud of and hope that we, we get our picture taken because he's, he's very high, high quality livestock for sure.
B
Absolutely.
A
Well then lot 20's next and he's a here I am out of cal that RVR owns with Van Hove. Y' all call her 001. I mean, in terms of just neck attachment and length of proportions, I think this calf's got it all. But his length of hip and the way he utilizes his hind leg is even more impressive to me. Obviously he's a Denver to Oie. I think anywhere in terms of hair shows he's competitive for sure.
C
Yeah. So, you know, out of our 001 cow, I would say that this is without question the highest upside kept in the cell, along with 045, which was a black and white one earlier in the sale. He is skinny and he is the one that's probably going to make someone look like an absolute genius because he has built incredible. I mean he has got the perfect hind leg set, he's got the perfect hip, he has huge hair. Believe it or not, he has shucked hair. Even though he looks very hairy there he is, shucked hair. But here's the thing. Like this calf, you just let the, you, you let the feed go to it. He's out of one of the best cows in the country. I mean, his full sibs have ranged anywhere from 20,000 all the way up to the hundred plus thousand dollar range and have gone on and win big things. I mean, he is a very high quality animal. We, we had, we have big hopes and dreams for this calf. If he's in the right home, he's right in the right environment and someone actually pours the feed to this thing, this calf could end up being the best kept in the cell. And I'm not saying that just to sell an animal. He just has the right build. He's just behind and man, I think that, I think here in 60 days someone's going to be like feeling like they got a good deal here.
D
So, yeah, no, I agree that that.
E
Thing'S look and balance was going to carry him a long way.
D
Flawless in his structure.
E
He's probably one of the best cabs in the cell, to be quite honest with you. But no, that thing's got big, big time upside. Another A plus plus in terms of disposition, I think. I mean, you can open the doors and take him wherever you want. Obviously he's a haired calf, but I don't know. I think it all depends on, on where the calf ends up, the family.
D
That, you know, pours their heart and soul into him.
E
But no, I think there's a lot of upside in this calf and. And another one that we feel can.
D
Be very competitive at Fort Worth or Denver next year.
A
Well, then lot 21 is next. I gotta know, is this one skirt or pulled? Because I think in my opinion, just reading him visually here on the video, I think he could run Angus. But that's depending on what his head shape looks like. He's a say no more out of a Van Hove Lambert 0144. I mean, in terms of length of neck, the rib shape that he has, and the way he moves his feet and legs are impressing me. I'd like to know if he's skirt or pulled if he could run Angus or not. For sure.
C
I think this calf is like really, really unique pieces. Again, we were the contending bidders on this calf's mama too. Mr. Lambert out of Indiana ended up beating us out of this. This one's mama, which. His mama's a Fu Manchu out of the great 682 Merlin cow of Robbie Van Hose, which he sold a. And a lot of high sellers out of this one's grand dam. And so this is actually the natural calf he was on the side of 0144 when we got her from Robbie. And we think this thing is a heck of a, a slick shearing Kev, because he's got the huge hip and the choke neck and the big back. But I don't think there's any question. I mean, he's got really good hair and you know, if we're able to get him into the Angus deal at Fort Worth, I mean, watch out. He's very, very, very high quality animal. But I mean, I think he could, I think he could go to Dallas and be a heck of a slick year at Dallas or he'd go all the way to Oie. He has the, the bill to be able to hold and push and, and maneuver him the way that you want to maneuver this calf. But he is, he has got the hard muscles and the choke neck and the, the cool pieces to be really, really neat calf when it's all set and done.
D
Yeah.
E
Now, when we found this calf, I told Reed, I said we got to have that thing for a six year and black one. He is pulled Obviously there's some, there's some, there's some appeal there because if he were to be able to get in the British deal at Dallas or roll him into a Fort Worth Angus, I mean, it could be very intriguing to see what happens. But no, I mean, that thing's got the big six year muscles. He is break necked, zero chest, big bodied. I mean it's, you know, again, it's cookie cutter showster here. But no, that calf is big time. Probably one of the stoutest, like just natural shapely calves in the sale for sure.
C
Yeah. Yeah, agreed.
A
Well then with lot 22 is next and he's the start to the four full sibs that end out the sale. And really, truly these last four are just as good as the one that starts the sale. But you got one in Lot 22 that is extremely cool. Fronted reads to me is like the short proportion, short back, big hit kind that is huge footed at the surface. Y' all tell me where you'd like him at and project him to be. I think he's incredible.
C
Yeah. Now this calf is. He is the softest featured fat steer out of all the brothers of 6,005. You know, and, and this one's a. How great? I mean, he is big ass, incredible. I mean absolutely incredible feet and legs. He's got the feeding. He's just a good easy feeding kind. I mean, I think he's a heck of a middleweight at Fort Worth. I think he's a heck of a kev. Call it 8 class 8 to 10 at Denver if you want to take them to Denver or you could hold him back and take him to Oie. I think he is a slick shearing kev all the way. I think he, I mean he has huge hair. I mean this calf will be one hairy sob. But I mean big swoopy belly. I mean he is absolutely a dream as far as feeding. I mean he is a soft, easy feeding type that you can just coast him to wherever you want to go with the big hairs.
B
Yeah.
D
No, this one, this one gets me fired up. This is the kind of cattle I like to feed just in terms of, you know, flawless structure, feet and legs, big swoopy bellied and long little bitty neck, several end points. Very versatile and where you can go, like Reed said, anywhere from Fort Worth to Oie and literally anywhere in between. If you want to shear this thing off and feel like you got a hammer of a breed contender as a black one sheared off, he does that too. But man, I think air quality is awesome. To me, I feel like this is the kind the guy can get along with at Denver or Fort Worth just because he is so flawless. Like, anybody and everybody likes this kind of cattle. Like, there's just. There's no holes in him.
E
Probably do a little bit of managing. And the only reason I say managing because he's one that is so soft in the way he's designed. Like, he might get a little fat on a guy if you didn't pay attention to him. But that's a good thing, right? Like, he's easy feeding. So I'm very, very pumped about this calf. He's one for sure that, you know.
D
Hopefully my little girl starts showing.
E
He.
D
He's. He's the kind that I'm going to be all about because that's this good quality cattle that gets along anywhere and everywhere. Big fan of this one.
A
For sure. For sure. Well, then, lot 23, you got another full sib. He's got a little white highlighted in his heart and flank. Reads to be a little greener than the rest, but I think that's perfectly okay because this calf's build is awesome. I think he can go to a variety of end points. I mean, looks to be just a real shapely calf that's big hit. Utilizes his hind leg. Right. And took a really awesome picture. And his video tells the story just as well.
C
Yeah. So I remember when this thing was born. You know, he is one stout animal that is absolutely tricked out. It's got a little star in his head. Little. Little.in his head, too. He's got all the. The tricks. I mean, this calf would look incredible at Fort Worth. And he had like, he doesn't. Like, he has a lot more hair than what this picture shows. And you know, he's out of again, he's a. How great? 6,005. I think this thing look would look incredible at Fort Worth. I'm not really sure which class that he reads to me. I, you know, is he a five or is he a six or is he a seven? Or do you just keep on pounding the feed and go to. Go to San Antonio or Houston and be an awesome Maine Kev. Or do you take an oie? So there's a lot of little end points, hair or slick. This thing has got the big, big pieces, and if you just manage them right and just feed them and get. And get the right feed program with them. I think this cap's got all the big pieces to be like an absolute hammer because he has got some extremely hard pieces to make, you know, I mean, his neck, the way it sets on his shoulder blades is just absolutely insane. Just big, big pieces. I mean, I. I've always been a fan of this one since he was a baby.
E
No, the cap's a freak. He's probably the stoutest of the 6005s. You know, we.
D
We talked and toyed about maybe rolling.
E
Him to the next sale, but we decided ultimately to keep all these brothers together. And I'm glad we did, because you can see the versatility of the matings, but you can also see how consistent 6005 is. And I think that's just telling to how these cattle are gonna mature and feed. This thing is stout, big muscles.
D
You know, Fort Worth.
E
I mean, really, I think sky's the limit. I mean, you can keep him in that Division 1 deal or like, reach it, feed him to the middles, but muscle will never be an issue with this calf. He's cocky, he's arrogant. Probably the stoutest naturally, just, you know, in terms of muscle of the.
D
Of the brothers.
E
But now we're. We're pretty fired up about this little dude. He's a cool rig for sure.
A
Well, then lot 24 is next. And as I was looking through the sale yesterday, this was one of my top picks. I mean, this one's build is extremely hard to make. I think it's so unique how this one's shoulder angle, top line and hip is made and to still move and flex his lower joints like that, but have that much mass and dimension. I mean, this one's just very hard to make and unique to me.
C
Yeah, yeah, this one is. This one might be the hardest one to make in the entire sale. You know, when you think about. When you think about calves and cross. Crossbred cattle, you know, European crosses, you know, for the. The European cross deal at Fort Worth or. I mean, this thing could be an incredible specimen at Denver, too. I mean, there's just this thing when you get out in the pen, you're like, what is that one? I mean, he is just an absolute specimen in a lot of different ways. I mean, just. I mean, zipper fronted, you know, perfect down towards his chest. He's got the swoopy belly. He has got absolutely big feet and bones. I mean, he is big ass. When he was born, we were pretty worried about how the cow was going to have this calf because he was so, so stout. I mean, the crazy thing is, is he's green today. I think if he was in other cells that were selling, he would be fat and just Maxed out. He is not maxed out. And none of these cows are maxed out. There's no point in maxing these things out. The only reason why you max them out is so you can sell them as high as possible. And that's not what we're trying to do. We're trying to get them in the right homes and feed them the right way so we can max them out when it counts. At the end point, this kef maxed out is going to look like an absolute freak. And I mean, he, he's got a special place in my heart. And I think this one could put 600-600-5 on the map. I mean, in the ride home, this thing is going to, to go and like, you know, go and hit someone in the mouth for sure. I, I, you know, my heart pounds when this, when I'm around this one.
D
Yeah, yeah. No, this is the kind that, that, you know, obviously we, everyone would like to be a part of. I know he's very, very high on reeds list for sure. A cell feature in this sale just made sense to keep these brothers together down here. Obviously we sprinkled some. They're at the beginning just for a taste. But no, this calf is elite in all aspects of the word. Muscles, incredible feet and legs are awesome. I mean, probably one of the coolest looking steers that'll sell this spring. Violence, body, all that color. I don't know, man. This is just good quality livestock that wins. And I think that's important to realize. I mean, you know, he's cocky, he's arrogant, he checks all the boxes. He's a show steer for sure. I think, I think whoever ends up with this cap is going to be pumped again. I think it's another one that shows all year. Probably wins his fair share of trinkets and feel like you've got a hammer when it comes time to figure out where we're going to show him, where we're going to take him, because he is big time for sure.
A
Well, then to round out the sale, really, truly not any way better.
B
You could.
A
In terms of all the lots in the sale, this one is my favorite. And not that that matters, not that my opinion matters, but this cap is extremely unique. Not because of his color, not because of his build, not because of his versatility. Also the way that he's bred and the way that I think that his build can hold all of his massive dimension at the size that he's at, but can also in the future. This calf is extremely Unique. I mean, Red Cross shorthorn listed as well. This calf in Fort Worth, I think for sure middleweight and can go at them all. But also at the end of the day, it's whatever the family ends up wanting to do, as well as where Reed and Junior think he needs to land. But I think this calf is extremely special.
C
Yeah, this is the kind that, you know, this is the kind that you, you dream about, you know, when you're putting the matings together and, and you know, you know how it is. I mean, you're just daydreaming about what you can do. And as producers, you know, we really, really take pride in mixing the pot and trying to, you know, figure out the perfect potion. And there's no question how great and 6005 is the ticket. And if the last lot didn't convince you of that, this one should, you know, because this is a very, very, very, very hard animal to make. He is perfect structured. I mean, he is the best structured animal in the cell yet. He's one of the stoutest calves in the cell. He is, he can class shorthorn. I think he is going to be in that lights out shore horn if you want to. But his build also says that he can go in the red crosses and he's going to be really, really, really hard to beat. I mean, he is a very, very unique kess that, that reads right and, and I think, I think the world of him, he has been good since the day he's hit the ground. I probably have more videos of this calf than any other calf we've ever raised. And just because he's never really had a bad day, he is just, he's been special since day one. And that's, that's usually, usually the great ones are like that. They were good that the minute they hit the ground. And this one, this one's been that way since, since the day, since the, the day that he took his first breath. Yeah, yeah.
D
No, when this one was born, I mean, I was pretty sure I called her eating, like, hey, I think there's a chance we got him because he's, he's here and he's like Reed said.
E
He'S been real and good the whole time. You know, it's the kind we all strive to make. It's the kind of, we all strive to stand behind. I agree with you.
D
I think he ends up as a.
E
Middle at Fort Worth and feel like you have a shot to ring the big bell there. But I mean, he might also be a hammer at Houston and the way that things have shaken out just in terms of off breeds getting a piece of the big show. I mean, it shouldn't be any different here. I mean, I think we feel like we have a shot at not only winning his class or his breed, but whatever show we want to go to. I mean, that's how confident I am in this calf. He's big time. Feet and legs again are incredible. Body balance second to none. You can tell how awesome Hipti is long necked and he does classes of shorty all day, every day in my opinion. Attitude is incredible. I mean, this one's going to be fun the whole time. The size allows you to feed him the whole time. We can gearing wherever we want to go. Very, very excited to see how it shakes out with this Kevin who ends up with him. I don't know, the people that have been here and threw the cabs already. I mean, it seems like everybody's got him at the top of their list and it's going to be, it's going.
D
To be a fun ride and we're.
E
We'Re excited to hold on and see how it shakes out.
D
For sure.
B
Yes, sir.
A
For sure. I think it's gonna be a dog fight to see who ends up with him. I think a lot of people are going to gravitate towards him and I think y' all have probably seen a lot, a lot of curiosity in him as some once the sale was posted. But with that said, that ends out the sale and all the lots that we've talked about. I, I don't think that it could get any deeper, to be honest with you. And I, I am in full belief of RVR and what Reed and Junior got going on there. The calves look incredible. The people are just as good, honestly better. And I'm very grateful to be able to represent people like this and especially sets of cattle like this as well. So I'm grateful that y' all were able to come on. Is there anything else y' all would like to tack on? With that said, yeah, no.
C
I'd like to thank the whole RVR crew. I mean, you know, ever since Junior has joined with me and, and you know, I don't view him as just someone that works for me. I mean, he's become a brother and a partner and a friend and him and his family have been a massive asset for what we're doing here. And it speaks in the volume, the quality of these cattle. I mean, we've really stepped our game up here at RVR and having Junior and his family on board has been a massive, massive win for us and for our family and then everyone else that's working at the ranch. You know, Erin Green, our show bar manager, has been lights out. Everyone, you know, most of the people in the industry know who she is and she is one hard working person that just gets it done. Ethan, our assistant manager at the the ranch, he's been awesome since he's joined with us. Pepe, Oso, Rigo and the rest of the guys that we have working with us all the time have been phenomenal. And so we are just very, very fortunate with what we've got going on. And I think this set, the sky is the absolute limit and we are just absolutely blessed to have what we have with these cattle and in our, on our group. I also want to say that, I mean we're fully dedicated and committed in helping our families throughout the full extent of the year and be a service to those guys from a feeding and fitting perspective. And so we're just, we're committed. We want, we want to win and we want to win big. We want to do it the right way. And we got an incredible set here. This first of four sales that we'll have this year that you know, this is, this is a big time set. We're very, very excited about this, this set.
D
No, again, you know, to talk about it more, I very thankful be a part of it. Weston, thank you for having us on. It was fun. It's cool. Kind of seeing the fruits of the labor all culminate to something that we can be proud of. We started clipping through the set. I told Reed, I said, man, I think it's going to be pretty good. And, and I know we're both very, very proud of the product that we have here in front of you. Again, we encourage anybody and everybody to come out, take a look while you're at Fort Worth. We feel like it's a pretty convenient and easy drive to tolar to look at these things. We're excited about them. We stand behind every single one of them. We feel like the quality is second to none. Several different endpoints, options, opportunities here. You know, thank you to the crew that helped us get them ready. And we are over the moon, excited to see where these things end up, you know, to develop the relationships with the families, get the kids going and have a good run all year long. So Weston, again, thank you for allowing us to be part of this platform. I think what you're doing is big time. I think it's awesome. I think it's a cool way to get, you know, our opinions on the cattle and again, feel free to reach out to me or, or Reed or.
E
Anybody on the crew and, and we'd.
D
Be happy to talk about them for sure.
A
Well, I sure appreciate it, guys and thank you all for entrusting me to be able to do a preview like this and I'm very grateful to be a part of something like this as well. So with that said, the sale happens on the 14th of February and very, very, very excited to see how it goes. And obviously Reed Junior's contact info is going to be there on the page as well. And if you have any questions, don't be afraid to reach out to them. This is what it's all about. This is what I was hoping everything would turn out to be. With that said, empowerments here. We'll tune in next time.
C
Thanks, guys.
E
Thanks, Wilson.
