I went to DJ Snake. It's an interesting journey to talk about. As we've said on all of our reviews, these are real people. We send our love and nothing but the best to all of these people. So it's kind of weird to dissect it all, and it's crazy. It's reality television. It's a wild world. These people are put in prison in this villa with no Internet, no contact to the outside world, and they're forced to fall in love. It's a crazy journey. But I'll tell you what, the U.S. version was just so different from the U.K. for me, this experience was at times traumatic. It was at times scary and spooky. And I feel like the UK Love island has always only ever been fun and funny to me.

Yeah. I mean, I have a little bit of insider information as to why that may be the case.

[Grant]

[Dan]

Okay.

[Emily]

There is on the UK now a, like, team of mental health professionals. Like. Oh, that's. There's like a whole thing going on there because they've had some previous, like, unfortunate.

[Dan]

Yes. There's a lot of dark history behind this show on both sides.

[Emily]

Yeah. So now UK has a whole mental health team. US does not. They have one therapist and the therapist kind of like uses what they say to manipulate this.

The service goes right to the producers and goes, amazing. I have a great idea for a challenge.

We've talked a lot about the. I mean, Dan. Well, unfortunately, Danny is not with us. Danny's in Arizona with his family. Shout out Danny. And Danny is Danny Sharp, as you know.

Danny was sharp on the producer involvement in this show. And I will say, good producing. They. They made a strong push to make Carl and Anaya win at the end there. The fact that Carl and anaya's date was 5x longer than everyone else's date with a full on folklore, storybook, fairy tale connected to their journey. That was the special stuff.

[Grant]

Dude, it is funny. I wonder what you think about this. And I'll kind of get into a point of this in a second, but the. The day, you know, when you're a senior, your spring grades don't matter. Like, your applications are out.

[Emily]

You know, the voting that America does is after that Friday episode. So everything they show us tonight.

Imagine getting Dagger. Imagine being a professional illustrator. I'm imagining this wasn't AI. I hope not, at least. And you get a call from Peacock and they go, hey, Zach, you know, we. You're an amazing illustrator. We'd love to hire you for a production. And they go, oh, my God, I did it. I finally did it. I'm going to be one of the illustrators on a new hit Peacock Show. And they go, we would actually like you to illustrate a fairy tale book of Carl and Anaya's romance on Love Island USA Season 8.

The illustration book was insane.

I was laughing, too, because the pictures, the. The cast members haven't seen the show. Obviously they have. They've lived it. So they. The still images they get to illustrate are clips from the, like, what we see on tv. So it must be so funny to be like, you know, it's like Anaya straddling Carl and saying, Wes, like, from behind. And she's like, oh, yeah. Like, I guess that's what that looked

like on TV when they were doing their montage. And they brought back the. The yelling at Casey moment of like, you didn't pick me. As if Carl rode in on a white horse. And I was just like, man, this is a. The journey here is. They're. The. The way the producers just manufacture everything for all of them is really special.

It was crazy that in that last montage of. Of memory Lane, the they showed that clip.

[Dan]

And call going, it's okay.

As if that was like so sweet. And they also showed the Melanie and sincere, like bad. I forget which one it was. But they showed a bad moment. I think it was her screaming at him too. And picking. Yeah, yeah. It was the pick. Me being picked is not the prize.

And then it was like cut to him with the rose. And they were like, oh, yeah. Amazing. But I was like, I don't know that they had to rewatch this.

Okay, so we'll break down the winner. We're all thrilled. I want to go back. We won't. This is a two out, Livy. I just want to go back to that second to last app. You guys in our last review were like, I fast forward the challenges and I was like, oh, I don't. I kind of watch Them. And then in that app, it was the most obscene food. It was like 40 minutes of the most outrageous challenge for no reason I've ever seen.

[Emily]

I. I, like, I don't understand the purpose, literally, of this challenge other than to be disgusting. Like, it's not like they're. The challenges are supposed to be to, like, stir up some drama.

[Raquel]

Yeah.

[Emily]

Who's gonna kiss who? What. What can we find out about, like, what people are saying on the outside, though? We'll do. You know, there's the most popular challenge that they did not do called the truth bike, which is, like, where someone sits on this bike and starts randomly pedaling. It does not move. I don't really know why they're doing a bike. They do a fucking bike. Okay. And anyone in the villa, or sometimes they'll bring in old cast members who have gotten dumped. And anyone in the villa can sit there and ask the person on the truth by a question. And they have to be honest about it. So they'll be like, did you actually have feelings for Melanie the way you said you did? Or, like, were you actually giving her and soul? And, like, you just have to be honest. Yeah. It's shit like that that makes these challenges, like, juicy.

And then make the show good. And not once in this fucking challenge did I see anything other than mono and sharing of juices. And.

And I was like, waste a waste. I was like, I am done. I would rather remember the early episodes where we got information where Trinity sucked her boyfriend's pee pee with her mother in the car. I'd rather more stuff like that, of course, like, do more challenges.
