Foreign. Long last. Everyone's favorite trio is back together. We are ready. We are fired up, and we are going deep, deep into Love Island USA Season 8, Episodes 1 through 9. This is going to be the biggest chunk that we do. We are where it's. Chris and I are on boots on the ground for the Stanley Cup Final, but that does not mean we can't take a break and cover our favorite reality show right now. I'm so thrilled that we're doing USA for Sean. I wonder if Sean has the same. Like, I have such an endearing feeling and desire to do Love island uk. Sean, is it the opposite for you,
Chris
or are you guys.
Sean
Did USA? I just watched 11 hours of UK. Hang on. Wait, give me a second. I'll just. I'll just watch it here. Just hang on. It can't be that dude that long.
Dan
Sean, just do like the. The Matrix download of all of all.
Sean
Do like all nine episodes and a big grid. Just watch all of them. Yeah, well, yeah.
Dan
I'll tell you what, gentlemen, the.
Sean
I was just gonna say, to answer your question.
Dan
Go, go, go, go.
Sean
The American one definitely feels. I mean, I haven't really watched the UK one either, but I've seen, like, my sis growing with my sisters and stuff. They watch a lot of UK reality TV shows. The American one feels like everyone's acting, and I think it's because I'm used to, like, Hollywood actors with American accents. Whereas the UK one feels like, oh, this is just a guy from down the street who just has good genetics, you know?
Chris
That is a great take, dude. And I. I buy that because I. That's what it feels like to me. I'm like, oh, there's just a guy from down the street with genetics on the USA one and jumping ahead a little bit. I don't think we should let British people on the USA one. I've really come to like Zach, but I was like, you can't be on the show.
Sean
I agree. There's a whole category for them that's like. That's like an Olympian entering the Paralympics. It's like, you have your thing. Go do it.
Chris
Oh, the savior.
Dan
Sean. Cheeky for you to mention Paralympics when we've got Beatriz in here. So I really like that call by you. You know what's funny, Chris? I. Going into it was like, yeah, it's love. I've actually never watched Love island usa. This is my first dip into Love island usa. And going in, I was like, well, I hope there's a ton of UK people and the More I thought about, I was like, that's the dumbest thought of all time, Dan. Because what is the point? Like, in my mind, I'm like, oh, yeah, it's Love island, usa. They're going to be in usa and then what, are they in Fiji or something? Right? Like, yeah. So I'm like, no, that's not what it is. It's supposed to mean it's a bunch of people from the US but here we are. Either way, it's unbelievable. We've got a bunch of great cast members. We're, we're. I, I hope everyone watching is up to speed. So we've got a bunch of new couples. I don't even know what to call the couples. But the cast that we will be discussing, we've got Sincere, Zach, Casey, Gabrielle, Bryce, Corbin. We're going to talk about Sean. We've got Caleb. And then for our lovely ladies, we've got Melanie, Kaida, Anaya, Beatriz, Trinity, Kenzie, and Sol and Jen. So unbelievable. I love the cast. I don't know about you guys, but you know what is funny? Every Love island again, this is my first USA Love island, but they're pretty much the same thing. I feel as though I have so much love for previous Love Islands that I've watched. And in episode one, the cast. Cast comes in. I'm like, I don't like anything. And then by like episode four, I'm
Chris
like, I die for these people literally every time.
Dan
I will do anything for these people.
Chris
And, And Dan, wait. I gotta say, though, the way. I don't know if they always open with a music video like that in the. Do you guys remember from the first
Dan
episode that I, I, I had a hard time getting through that. I thank God for Kenzie being a dancer and like, kind of. I mean, she was going hard on that bed. Like, she made that bed her in that opening music video. But that was an uncomfortable music video for me. It was so funny. But I was like, damn. And I would have killed to have been on set for that because I'm like, if it were me, I imagine all of those guys must have been like, dude, what am I doing here? I can't. This is not going well. Yeah, but they have to have recorded
Sean
that before the first. It wasn't like that was the, the last, like those, the first thing they shot of the second day and they all knew each other already. Like, that had to have been before they all did their introduction. So they already kind of. Because there's no way you're doing Like a little dance thing or like, at least talking to each other a little bit.
Chris
Yeah, dude, I'm so. I was also dying that. Well, first of all. And she grows to be a legend. But to be completely honest, the way I gasped when I saw a girl had one leg, like, there was no. We didn't have a character intro yet, you know, like, where someone would have explained everything was happening. And it just cut to a girl dancing with one leg. And I was like, Chris, it was.
Dan
Bea is like, I. I have so much to say about Bea. The showing her in that music video with her prosthetic before getting the intro and. And hearing her story was such a numby's choice. It was just like, oh, yeah, like, here we go.
Chris
I can't remember it now, but some guys like that. What. I don't know who. What straws they were drawing for that music video. But some guys get to sing while, like, actively parasailing, while some guys are, like, dancing on an oil rig, you know, And I was like, oh, dude, could I get the parasailing ass? That's so true.
Dan
So true.
Sean
I'm looking through the intro music video now, and I actually. I actually thought that they were. Is there no shot of them dancing in a group together? For some reason, I had that in my brain. But they actually. So they might have not ever met each other.
Dan
Maybe at the end, maybe it's like
Chris
one with the dudes on the stairs. Like, I think there's like. I'm telling you, it's like this huge water tank, and I think there's like, a couple dudes on the stairs there maybe, but I don't know. That was. That was supposed to be an insane day on set.
Dan
So to give people a taste of what we're going to do here, just like we did with heated rivalry, we're going to be giving out awards at the end of every episode. The awards. We're going to be doing our best friend. That's going to be each of us who we feel like would be our best friend in the house. Then we're going to do villain. And that doesn't necessarily mean someone we dislike. It's someone who we feel is a troublemaker and is stirring up. And then we're going to do our top two couples and our bottom two couples and Dan.
Chris
For that, we're gonna. I'm adding an award. But on this episode only I have them. So I'll. I'll do it this episode. But then every episode, Sean and I
Dan
can think of one off the Top
Chris
best quote from that week on Love Island. Like there's, there's some gold. So if you guys have any flag, you can add it in. Otherwise I'll give that award out this week and then we'll do it.
Dan
That is a great, that's a great award. And for now, we are going to rip through our best moments. Things that stuck out, things that were incredible, things that were brutal, some of our laugh out loud moments and just cringy moments. I even wrote down a couple of heartbreaking moments because I felt that heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy. Sean, to go to what you said at the top, all of these, like unbelievably good looking people. I love it. With shows like this, everyone is so ripped. It's amazing. And I think the two oldest people on the show have been Bryce and Sean.
Chris
And they're getting sewered for. They're like, these guys are. Oh, yeah. They're like, you're old.
Sean
It's like, okay, yeah, Bryce is, Bryce is 29. And I feel like Sean was 29 as well. That's why I like them yet. Yeah, 29 as well. Yeah, I can relate.
Dan
So we've got, we've got a bunch of people in their 20s. Everyone's in such good shape. I do have to, like, I can't wait. I hope, I hope we get some cast members to come on the show and talk with us when this is all over. But I can only imagine everyone went through the most rigorous month prior to going on the show of just dieting and working out every single day because like, you got to know you're coming on the show and everyone's going to
Chris
be absolutely yoked and, and never wearing clothes ever.
Dan
Never.
Sean
Well, there was that one. There was a part in the first episode where some. I forget who it was. It's all like blurring together for me now. But someone asked like, oh, we all like working out, right? And one of the, one of the women, I can't remember which one was like, oh, I don't work out. And I was like, damn.
Dan
So you just have Trinity.
Sean
Trinity. That makes sense. Was like, I don't work out. Some people have all the.
Chris
Look, dude, Sean. So later I flagged this too because Trinity at the top goes, I don't work out. And then in one of the most recent episodes, she goes, I've shaved my legs because I just don't grow hair. Like, I. This is.
Sean
These are lies, dude. These are.
Dan
Trinity said that as well.
Chris
Yes, dad. And Trinity is, She's perfect. Gorgeous. Like, Trinity came On. And I was like, oh, my God. And dude, then she goes in her intro. They were like, what kind of guy do you like? And she was like, I don't know, like a golden retriever. And I was like, come on. One time. So, dude, never works out, doesn't shave her legs likes a gold retriever. I was like, you got to be kidding me right now.
Sean
No, she's. She's never farted in her life nor had a poop either. This is. These are lies, dude.
Chris
John, one thing I wanted to ask you guys, where I flagged, I was like, I have a couple, like, random thought, but I was like, random thought. These people are so put together at all times. Like, the first thing they do when they wake up is an hour long makeup session. You know, outfits on point, everything. I was like.
Sean
And that's just the guys.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
I was like, Sean's. Sean is back. Sean is so back.
Chris
But I was like, where were they taking shits? Like, where are they? Like, hey, sorry, real quick. Can I take off my huge mic? I have to take a massive dump. But I just. You're right, they don't at all. None of these people do.
Dan
They don't. Certainly the girls I like. If I were on Love Island, I would demand there. There is an. Another. There's like an outhouse for the men and the women outside the villa that everyone has their own individual bathrooms. Yeah, that is legitimately what I need. So we get in, everyone is introduced. Were there any big moments, like, right from the first couple of episodes for you guys of, like, how people were coupled up, how people were introduced? I will say right off the bat, for me, I have never been more enamored and also scared by someone's eyes and facial expressions than Kenzie. Kenzie's got witch eyes.
Chris
Yeah, you always say that.
Dan
And I mean, I mean that in a good way. But, like, when Kenzie laughs, she kind of does this thing. She's like. And like those big, bright blue eyes and, like, her beautiful smile. But I'm like, oh, my God, I'm getting hypnotized. But also, are you gonna kill me?
Sean
Yeah. Kenzie kind of scares me a little. It's hard talking about these people because they're like real people. But obviously, like, I was talking to Chris before this. It's like, obviously reality TV shows, they're being edited to make them look like villains and heroes, whatever the producers need out of the show at that moment. So it's not representative of them. Exactly. But it's like Kenzie's one of those people who is absolutely stunningly beautiful, just like everyone else here. But also, like, the enthusiasm is like, people this hot don't look at me smiling with eyes that big. So this is very unnatural for me.
Chris
You're like, I can't look.
Sean
This is. Yeah, this is. This is scary. I'm not used to this.
Chris
That is so good.
Dan
But I think that's the beauty of this show is like, I. Yeah, it's reality tv and it's going to be edited one way or another for me, dude. Like, nine Fs in. I just. I love everybody. Like, it's.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
I can't imagine, you know what I do. Like. I like watching these shows in my older age because all I feel is, like, sympathy for them, and I couldn't imagine doing what they're doing. And we will get into this. I. I actually wanted to say this at the top. I am starting a petition to. I don't know if this is a U. S, you love island, USA thing. I'm starting a petition to change the name of this show to Make Out Island. All they do is make out all day.
Sean
You should change it to Mono island because everyone's contracting mono.
Dan
Every single challenge, every single thing is
Chris
all about just making everybody make out. Cheek swabs.
Sean
I mean, from the first scene with the doors and they open the doors and everyone starts making out, it's like, damn, this just takes one person now in less than 20 minutes, everybody has it.
Chris
You know what grossed me out a little bit there, Sean? Because that was a really fun game. And they brought the door back at the end with the red dot, green dot thing. That was cool. But the pie thing, I mean, in the. In the door game when. When multiple people would be at your door, so it's like, oh, you're kissing everybody. There were a couple camera shots of them. They'd be kissing one person, and then they moved to the next person. They'd quickly wipe their mouth. And I was like, ah, it is kind of gross that your mouth is, like, still wet from someone. El. Like, oh, God.
Sean
The.
Chris
The level of.
Sean
The level of, like, patience as well, because there's. There's that moment when they open the door and they start making out with one person. Who do they choose first? I don't know if they had a system for that, but I'd be kind of insulted if I wasn't first. And now I got to get the slop. Sloppy seconds.
Dan
I. The amount of times in this show where there's just mass makeout going On. And, I mean, I'm sure behind the cameras, they're. They're being like, Jesus. Like, I just. I can feel the person before me spit in my mouth now, too. Like, this is just craziness. That door game, one of my top moments, standing out right off the bat, my man Casey, who I like. I think Casey is just awesome. The plant moment was my first just jump off the screen, laugh out loud moment. And you know what my favorite part about it was? Casey goes. It goes, do you like dogs, cats, or plants? Right. And what. What I think is so funny. I. I am a dog person. And whenever this question comes up and it's like, dogs or cats, I am such a dog person that when a person says they like cats more, I don't believe them. I'm like, how on earth could you ever like cats more? But, like, there are those people, and that's great. Casey going to plants. I sat forward and laughed out loud. And in my head, I was like, this dude is doing this because he thinks it's, like, gonna be a standout thing. And then him admitting that was awesome.
Sean
Yeah.
Dan
He was like, yeah. I was like. I was trying to be edgy. Like, I don't know what happened.
Sean
It was like, it was a bold strategy that didn't pay off. But it was also just because he thought women. For some reason, his perception of women is that they would pass up a dog or a cat, which I also agree. I think cat people are psychotic and in favor for a plant, which I don't think he really understands what the appeal of a plant is. It's not for companionship, dude.
Chris
He doesn't get it.
Sean
Yeah. He's like, women like flowers, right?
Chris
Dude, Casey's been talking to his plant every night before he goes to bed. I'm like, oh, dude, in his mind,
Sean
that door is going to open. There was going to be, like, all of the women behind plants.
Chris
Yeah.
Sean
And then they're going to have conversations about, like, eucalyptus oils and things afterwards.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
And then. Okay, so. And I want to get. I want you guys to. At least for the beginning here in, like, the first few episodes, we're getting our first impressions of everybody. Did anyone else feel like when Sean introduced himself and is like, you know, they did the door game, and then we're starting to learn more about everybody. I immediately, when Sean is telling his story and he was like, I have a kid. I instantly was like, sean is. And that's not fair. But we have a bunch of young 20s in this house, and everyone's Just making out and being like, yeah, I'm on Love Island. And I just. I had a bad feeling for Sean that the kid was going to be a dagger for him. And I couldn't shake that feeling.
Chris
Dude, I'm with you. And I also. I don't know if you guys have seen anything about this, but Sean got absolutely seward by the mayor of where he used to be a police officer. Have you. Have you seen this?
Sean
No. Like, irl. Like in real life.
Chris
Irl, bro. Because, dude, when he introed himself, Dan, my reaction was, you have a kid.
Dan
You're.
Chris
Every girl here is 22. They don't want to be a mom right now. And then also, I couldn't believe when he's like, I'm a police officer. Because Trinity, for example, goes, I work at a hardware store, and I quit.
Dan
Duh.
Chris
Yeah, right? And, like, the bright Bryce, who I love is like, I'm a garbage man. Like, literally. He's like, okay, yeah, like, soul.
Dan
Soul is like, I work at a gym. Like, yeah, I work at the front desk.
Chris
Sean is like, I'm a police officer. And I was like, thinking to myself, dude, I don't knock anyone that wants to go on these shows, but if you are a father and a police officer, how. How does one even broach the subject that I am like, I'm actually. I agree to Love Island.
Dan
I will. I will ask you to be careful, though, because I love Sean.
Chris
Me too.
Dan
You. He is such a standup guy.
Chris
But then, dude, the mayor, because he is now gone, and the mayor. I forget where he's from. Dude, didn't he say, you guys might remember.
Dan
I think he's in Philly, right? Like, he said, he. Well, he moved around, and then he said he went to Philly so he could be with his son.
Chris
That's right. So the mayor of Philadelphia or somebody, whoever he was working for, was like, the taxpayers of this city spent thousands of dollars to put Sean through the police academy to train him. And then we. We. We. He graduates, and we make him a officer of the law in this city. And then he quit after we just put all that money into him to go on a reality TV show. Never did. I think I would see the day in this society, it just, like, went off. And I was like, actually, you're right.
Sean
Is there not. There's not enough cops in America? Is that the problem is that they're running short?
Chris
Yes.
Dan
Take it easy, Sean. Okay? We're not getting into one.
Sean
It's one guy, and it's this chance of true love.
Chris
He's the best cop there was.
Sean
If that mayor was offered a spot on Love island, you tell me he wouldn't go. Is that what you're saying?
Chris
Has he seen Trinity show the mayor? Trinity?
Sean
Speaking of Trinity, in the hardware store when she was doing her, like, interview video, and she says, like, oh, I'll be at the hardware store. And people come in and ask me questions about hardware and plumbing. I'm like, I don't know. I'm like, well, you. You work at the hardware store. Why is this a surprise to you?
Chris
I had the same reaction.
Dan
That was funny. Trinity was like, I can't believe people are asking me questions about this shit.
Chris
And I'm like, well, she goes, do you remember what she said, Sean? She goes, I guess I was a personality hire. And I was like, oh, yeah. Like, whoever hired her was just. Just.
Sean
Yeah, because she's. Yeah, she's not doing work. If there was work in the bed, she'd sleep on the floor. You can tell the, like, she's. The fact that she's complaining about customers in the store asking her about her job. I'm like, hey. And she's not. They're not asking, hey, how can you come in and, like, you know, foot fit a sink? For me, it's clearly like, hey, where are the sinks? And she's like, fuck, I'm really funny.
Dan
They're like, this. What's the paint aisle? And she's like, I don't know.
Sean
Get away. But, yeah, I thought that was really funny also. I love that she just had, like, a normal job and she wasn't, like, a model or anything.
Chris
Yeah.
Sean
Because I feel like that just makes all the characters who had normal jobs are just far more relatable because they are literally just the pretty girl who you work with. Yeah.
Dan
Okay. So that. That's a great point, Sean. I. To me, I. I was. The first few episodes I watched. I watched with. I watched with Alice and some other people, and when people get introduced, like, Bryce gets introduced later, Jen gets introduced, and they're like, and I'm a model. And I feel like some people are like, of course. And I'm like, yeah, of course. Like, who? You know, you're on Love Island. I'm like, fuck, yeah. If I. If. If I had a friend who was a model and was 22 and was like, I'm looking for ways to get some more exposure, I'd be like, apply for Love island right now. Especially if they're fun and funny, like all these people. I'm like, get your ass on that show.
Sean
Yeah, I'm so good strategy just for exposure. And I think, like going back to what we were saying earlier about like, I feel like reality TV shows have kind of been ruined by some people going in not trying to win, just trying to make a Persona so that they can get a big social media following afterwards. And obviously the modeling side of that naturally goes into being like a social media model as well. So what was, what's the guy's name? Who was the model?
Chris
Bryce.
Dan
Bryce.
Sean
Bryce. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. There's so many names I can't keep track of Mama face person, so this conversation is going to be hard. But the, that's okay.
Dan
I, I'm, I'm a names guy, so I, I will help with that. But I, I, it, it was funny. I was talking to Lexi Chris and she was like, she was like, I don't know, I don't really like the cast, whatever. But it was the same thing that happened. Like, I'm just too in love with seasons prior and I obviously might douchey UK bias, but I. Dude, by EP4, I'm just like, I am all, all, all in on these people and it's so funny. And also I feel like I forget the model of this show every time I watch because there are so many episodes. I can't get over how many episodes. It feels like nothing happens. Like episode eight was literally an hour of just talking, sitting around by the pool. It was just conversation to conversation to conversation. And I find myself sitting here with popcorn just like, yes, dude.
Chris
It's why the show was so revolutionary, because they were like, what if I just aired it every night and just showed them sitting around? And we were like, they, they, yeah,
Dan
they do the, they do like, the challenges, the games, like one every two or three episodes. And then they're like, yeah, no, it's just them chatting. And I'm like, yeah. And we all love it. And it is like, I love it. Do you remember Big Brother?
Sean
Do you remember, like, Big Brother was like, lives was like live broadcast 24 7. You could tune in at like 2 in the morning, see people just like sleeping in their beds and stuff. That was, that was on. That was an. On like the, the late 90s, early 2000s of reality TV was just totally unhinged. I feel like everything is just homogenized into like dating simulator thing. But there was a time when it
Dan
was like, what if we just like
Sean
torture people and just. Yeah, people can just tune in whenever they want.
Chris
God, dude. Like OG Fear factor.
Sean
Yeah.
Dan
Okay. I want to. I want to get into some topic. Or do you guys want to spend a little bit of time breaking down or not breaking down, but touching on some of the cast members? Or should we just get into moments?
Chris
I think it'll.
Dan
There's so many, Dan.
Chris
Like, as.
Dan
Yeah, I think so.
Chris
You'll say. But I do have one thing. This is from like the first three. I think maybe three. It was just a comment for you guys because you just said there's some challenges in games. I forget which game this was. It was. It was like a secrets game or whatever. Oh, it was like the push in the pool, I think. Remember? I was like, who do you think was this? And like, you push them in the pool. I was like, dude, well, first of all, I almost want to save this for one, for my great quote award, but this was an all time moment. Trinity got her secret was she gave her boyfriend head while her mom was driving the car. And dude, okay. They go, do you know what I'm about to say, Dan?
Dan
No, but I'm so glad you brought this up. That Sean. Sean mentioned before we started recording, there's so much that has happened, and again, we won't be doing nine episodes at a time. This is just because of the Stanley Cup. There's so much content. It's harder. I would have forgot about this. Thank God you just remembered this, because that needs.
Chris
So that's her, right? Like, someone gets pushed in the pool. It's not them. And they go, who was it? And Trinity's like, me. And then they who have the guys are like, trinity, what? And the first thing out of her mouth they go, explain yourself. You gave your boyfriend head while your mom was driving. The first thing out of her mouth is she goes, well, it was daylight savings time, dude. How is that? I'm not gonna blame it on 9 11, but that certainly didn't help.
Dan
How is that not your. How is that not your number one quote? How is that not your number one quote? I'm gonna start using that. If I. If I ever get caught doing some dumb. And people are like, dude, explain yourself. I'm gonna be like, listen, it was daylight savings. Don't know what to tell you. That is crazy.
Chris
Never loved anyone more.
Dan
I can't. I can't fathom. Can you imagine being the male in that situation? And your girlfriend is like, I'm going to dome you up real quick while my mom and dad are in the driveway right there. I. I would call the cops. Like, that is crazy.
Sean
Do you think that the boyfriend was still, like, conversing with the parents during the time, or was it just like an awkward ride where you're just listening to the sound effects?
Dan
Sean, it's one of two. You legitimately either need to do that and maintain a full conversation with eye contact.
Chris
Yeah. In the rear view, with whoever's in
Dan
the rear view and whoever's in the passenger seat, or you need to pretend like you're asleep. Like you need to go, like, head against the window, eyes closed.
Sean
It's weird. We only go to the Trinity. He's asleep already.
Dan
I. I cannot. I. That was the most stunning thing I've ever heard.
Chris
So the commentary I had for you guys is. I love. Like, obviously the producers are, are getting those secrets from the contestants. Right? Like, they go, hey, give us a juicy secret and then we'll reveal them. So. So the contestants are providing these secrets. What I love. And that trinity, what is amazing, but what I love is people don't do stuff like that. Or Gabe did. Like, I banged a 50 year old MILF. Like, those are fun and funny. I cannot fathom that Some of the characters, some of the cast members submit secrets like, I've cheated on every girlfriend I've ever had. And then. And then they just get lampooned. And I'm like, you gave that secret. Like, why didn't you give banged a milf?
Sean
There's no way this information can come back to hurt me.
Chris
Sean. I'm like, you are in a dating game.
Dan
Like, why you provided the info.
Sean
It was either that or he never wears underwear. It was like one of those
Chris
just keep it fun. They just admit these things that they're like, I'm a terrible partner. I'm a liar.
Dan
Okay, why did you say that?
Chris
Outrageous behavior.
Dan
So crazy.
Sean
There are some of those, like, like, it gets you thinking when, when they're playing the games and stuff. Like with the door game in the first episode as well, when they're going through the. Like, is it never sometimes are always okay to go through your partner's phone and stuff. And that's. That's been some good. I was talking to some of the podcast producers and work about that. It's some good conversation aspect. But, like, I'm surprised at some of the answers that people are giving across some of the games.
Dan
Same dude, Sean. I'm appalled by so many of the answers. And it's like the, the tame end of that is the dogs and cats thing I was mentioning. The crazy ones are more of those topics. But I think that's one of the things I love about this show is you. You get in your bubbles, right? All of us are in incredible. You know, like we, we. It's like the relationships that we have are built on similarities in a huge way. So feel like you watch it and you like, this is nuts. But then you talk to other people and they're like, no, that's not nuts. And you're like, oh, my God. I. There are so many opinions in this world, it's ridiculous. It's amazing. Obviously there were a little bit of shakeups in the beginning and then there have been big shakeups towards the end that we'll get to. But for the most part, our couples. Again, we'll get into the shakeups. We've got Sincere and Melanie that we will be discussing. Zach and Kada, Casey and Anaya, Gabrielle and Beatriz, Bryce and Trinity, Corbin and Kenzie. Then we've got Sean that we'll talk about, Sol, Jen and Caleb. Again, we will get into the switch ups, but those are the ones for the majority chunk of what we're discussing. So let's get into some of the topics. One of my first favorite moments as we were like, one thing that has stood out to me is there hasn't been much drama. There's been a lot of like, dude, very understandable.
Chris
You were ahead of me and you were like, there's no drama.
Dan
Yeah, hold on, dude. Jesus Christ. Too horny, too quick. I think that there's been a lot of mature emotion. Like, there's been emotion and I. I am actually like blown away with some of the conversations that these, like, young people have had. One of the early forms of drama that I am thrilled to discuss, which was one of my favorite moments was when Bea called out Melanie for.
Chris
Oh, the lean going.
Dan
Yes.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
And that was when. Was that when Gabe came in or was that when.
Chris
No, I think it was Caleb because I know. I just remember she was so. They were.
Dan
No, no, no.
Chris
Kenzie. They were like, let Kenzie knock at him.
Dan
No, no, that, like, dude, that. That also happened. And she laid again on the bed. Yeah, this was Corbin way before.
Chris
You're right.
Dan
I think it was Corbin.
Chris
Right?
Dan
It was Corbin and Melanie coupled up with Sincere. Kenzie was single and it was like, here's a great moment. And yeah, because she grabbed him and pulled him for a chat immediately too. And the way Bea just fucking stood on business, dude, and was like, hey, I'm going to call you out and be very honest and open. And that for me, that was the first signs of, like, Melanie got, like, real defensive real quick. And I was like, oh, here we go. Like, bubbling drama was happening.
Chris
And she was a Philly girl in that moment, dude. Like, she started like, I was like, here, here it comes, dude. And, and I actually, though eventually Bea was going a little hard. Like Trinity. God, Trinity's goaded. But Trinity was like, I actually see both sides. There was a fair complaint, and then Mel said, sorry. And then you kept killing her. And we gotta, we need some peace here.
Dan
Correct. But I, I like, listen, Bea was tough, but Bea is tough. And that's why I with Bear, because it was like everything she said was legit, dude.
Chris
She the only she. And she said that from the beginning, that she's blunt, she'll call you out. The only thing I'm very sad to see her go. The only thing I'm not sad about is hearing her and Gabrielle say their names to each other back and forth.
Dan
I know.
Chris
It was like a Chile thing. They're like, I went to. It's actually Chile. And I was like, okay, dude, when
Dan
I'm introducing them, I'm trying to do it. But now in, I'm gonna be saying Gabe and Bea now because I, I, my accent's not good enough. But, like, when she says Gabrielle and Beatrice, I'm like, oh, my God, that's sexy. Beatrice is so coming out of Gabe's mouth is insane. I'm like, damn, Damn.
Chris
Okay, there was, there was one about the Mel thing. Well, let's talk about Mel and sincere for a little bit, because you just
Dan
brought that up, dude. I, I, this might be early for me to talk about that because that is probably my number one topic of.
Chris
Okay, okay, okay, I'll save that.
Dan
Yeah, let's see.
Chris
Then I had. Oh, that was crazy. Dan, did you see.
Dan
Actually, you know what? Let's spend a little bit of time on Sean. Let's, let's rip the Sean.
Chris
Okay.
Dan
Sean. Every now I can't remember, I can't remember what show it was. I don't even think it was Love Island, But I was once watching a dating show like this, and one of the cast members was introduced. It was a dude. This is a absolutely pointless anecdote because I don't remember what show or what the guy's name was. But a dude got introduced to a dating show like this, and after like, two eps, he left the show because he was just like, dude, this, this shit is like, not for me. Like, this is, like, too dramatic and ridiculous. And it was funny because when he got introduced. He was like everyone's favorite character because he was the most normal person of all time. His introduction wasn't really cocky and all that. And I know that they make all of these people say that shit about like, I'm a 10, I'm this blah, blah, blah. But he was just like, so chill and normal. And it was like he walked in, like, took a look around and was like, this is not for me. And he left. I had that vibe with Sean where I was like, this dude is like so genuine and kind and very level headed. And a big. A wonderful moment for me was when. When Zach bounced on Kenzie for Keda. And then Kenzie was like, for like, at two episodes was like, it's. If it's the last thing I do, it will be destroying Zach's life.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
I was like, oh, my God. And when. God, what was it? Maybe it was like the dancing thing. And she was like, I'm not gonna go dance with you. It was.
Chris
Dude.
Dan
Afterwards, Sean was like, hey, like, I didn't really like that when you did that. I feel like you're holding too much of a grudge against Zach and I think it would be the mature thing to do to move on. I was like, it felt like like a dad talking to someone. And I was like, Sean is just too genuine.
Chris
It's great, dude. Well, you were spot on from the beginning, Dan. Right. Like, he was gone because. And I actually did feel bad when Bea bounced on him at the beginning. Like, she red dotted him when he. It seemed like they were the best couple. That was like a shocking early moment for me, dude. I also. There's a. There's a theme of gaslighting in this show that I want to talk to you guys about. But that was the first one where he pulls Bea aside. Dan. And he goes, hey. Because he's the man. And he's like, I just.
Dan
Yeah.
Chris
I'd like to have a honest conversation. I felt like we were the strongest couple in the early couple in the house. I opened that door, I went on the green dot. And then you were on the red dot or you were gone. Because that meant like, you know, Gabrielle took her away.
Sean
Yeah.
Chris
And she goes, oh. Like, I. I just thought red dot meant I still think you are my number one, but I just am open to talking to new people. I thought by standing on green dot, it meant I never want to talk to anybody again. And he was like, yeah, is that what you thought about? You know, like, I was like, this is fucking ridiculous.
Dan
That was Crazy Sean, like, his response to that, he was like, damn.
Chris
Yeah. Yeah, he was.
Dan
Well, he was trying so hard to be polite while also being like, you're
Chris
full of outrageous gaslighting, dude. So, yeah, I felt bad for him. It was always going to break that way. Like, it. Once it went itself, I was like, he's gone.
Dan
This is fine. I know.
Sean
Yeah. Sean was my by far, my favorite character on the guy's side. Not because his name is spelled the correct way.
Chris
It was gonna be that.
Sean
Nor is it because he's, like, has, like, a normal job and is also closer to me in age. So I can relate as a late millennial or zoomer or whatever I am. But the. I just thought he was, like, the most normal one. And I guess it's kind of hard to be wrapped up with all, like, the drama and bullshit when you're like, job requires you having to see people who have, like, real problems all the time. But. But, yeah, I was really disappointed to see him get dumped so early.
Dan
I know it was tough. Well, that was funny in that recoupling when they were like, you are single and vulnerable. I was sitting there being like, and you're gone, dude. And everyone was like, just chill about it. They're like, which means you're done from the island. Everyone's like, what? And I was like, what do you mean, what? Like, that's obviously what's happening here. Back backtracking a little bit. I'm curious what you guys think about this. Alice told me this, the breakfast thing. Oh, how every morning the guys make the girls breakfast. Apparently in seasons past, one couple was like, kind of on the. Or maybe not on the rocks, but, like, they had, like, a really great talk the night before. And the dude was like, you know what? I'm gonna make her breakfast. And now it is like a Love island staple where every dude is not. I mean, not forced, but they are like, much. You gotta make your girl breakfast. I don't like that.
Chris
Oh, I love it.
Dan
I don't think it's special anymore. And, like, I'm a chivalry guy, but to me, it's like, it's not special when everyone's doing it. And I also do laugh and feel bad when there's an odd number. And, like, we've got guys, like, I'm pretty sure, like, Caleb was making, like,
Chris
three plates of breakfast at one point.
Dan
I was like, it's Dan. Would you.
Chris
Dan, would you make no breakfast as an act of chivalry? Would you go, no, I'm the one could you imagine?
Dan
No. You know what I would do? I would make lunch, dude. I'd bring them up lunch. What are you gonna do when someone
Sean
up to you and makes them dinner? Then it's game over.
Chris
Then I'm.
Dan
Then Sean is turning into a three course me. Basically, I then become the cook of love island villain. Yeah, I just, I'm just in the kitchen the whole time, just cooking the entire time.
Chris
Job security though, dad.
Sean
You smoking in the kitchen all day, just like, just stressed out of your mind. Doing every meal for every place by yourself. It's like, Dan, I really don't think you're like paying attention. It's like I got three omelets to do in 20 minutes to do it. Just to relax.
Dan
Yeah.
Chris
Just ripping darts.
Dan
Okay, wait, Dan, I want a dancing thing though.
Chris
Where you were saying when Kenzie didn't dance on Zach in that dancing thing, that's when that was like the, the hot for coworker teacher thing. You know the dudes in that scene, I was watching that they are getting up and literally like humping girls on the, on the table. And you know, you always hear that the TV set or movie set is the least romantic place on earth because there's cameras and boom mics and everywhere. But I was like, man, I wonder how these guys in those tiny shorts are pulling this off with these hot girls. And I had that thought and I wrote it down. And then later, a couple eps later was that scene with Zach and kid where she goes to get up. He's like, she's like, come on. He's like, I can't. And I was like, ah, yes. I knew it.
Dan
I, I, Chris. I felt that way.
Chris
Bobby Joy.
Dan
I felt that way the most with the slumber party episode where they're all in like those tiny white shorts and like every girl is making out with them with like wet paint going all over the place. And I was like, this, this just has to be a field of boners. Correct. Left to right, everyone bricked up. There's no way there's any other scenario going on here.
Chris
Dude.
Dan
Hilarious.
Chris
You know, like Braveheart, Dan, when there's like, there's like a horde of horses coming and they raise up the defenses and it's just, it's just spikes everywhere. Like that. Yes, that is the sea of that girl. The girls come out of their lingerie just as sea of spikes. Crazy.
Dan
Speaking of two horned up, I, I had a really difficult time with Gabe's introduction. That dude, when Gabe first showed up and he had Bea and Who was with him?
Sean
Trinity.
Dan
Yeah, cuz he, he went with Bea and Trinity went back with Bryce that night where like they were together. And it just felt like the only things coming out of Gabe's mouth were sexual comments to then lead to another kiss. And like in his introduction he was just like, I just love kissing people and being a horny dog. And that night was just like literally back and forth, back and forth. All he was doing. And like, then he has like private moments with them is like, makeup, makeup, makeup, makeup. And then he proceeds to do it for the rest of the show. It's like, like Jen comes in, Soul comes in and he's like, hey, can I chat with you for a second? Two minutes later, bang. Kiss.
Sean
Say that some of the contestants on this show are a little bit sleazy.
Chris
Dude. Sean, here's my favorite part, though.
Dan
Never literally my favorite part.
Chris
Every single person. And I, I say this with love. Every single person that goes on this show is a boy or girl. Like, they are on the show, they've done this and they, they. It's completely fine. And, and, and Sean. But every single one of them goes like this. You want to hear something about me? Deep down, I'm actually a lover boy. Everybody thinks I'm a fuck boy, but yeah, here's a little, here's a little secret. Deep down I'm like, shut the disagree.
Dan
And I'll get into that, into the best friend section when we wrap up. But I actually laughed on that topic, guys, during the. I think it was nine the pie thing when like Sierra came in the summer house person came in. Soul, I think, went up with a pie and was like, we're. We. It was like the who's like most likely to ghost you. And she was like, we chose this boy because he's kind of giving boy energy. And they pied Corbin. And I was like, Gabe is right there. And like the fact that Soul was the one who pied him because earlier when Gabe pulled Soul and kissed her, she was like, I feel like I can taste the pheromones of other people.
Chris
Yeah, because he's just kissing.
Dan
Well, I loved the comment from Soul because I was like, yeah, Gabe is just fucking making out with anyone he can. And the fact that Gabe is there getting. And Corbin is getting pied over Gabe on For a Boy label. If I were Corbin, I'd be like, yo. Yeah, like, come on.
Chris
I'm so with you on that dude there. I had another K to thing. Well, Dan, you had a, you had a favorite moment.
Dan
You're about to say, though, I don't think.
Chris
Oh,
Dan
no, I, I, you can go. I, I've got, I mean, Gabe was just being the horniest boy in the world was kind of my biggest thing. I, I then I guess I have my next laugh out loud. Brutal moment was. It was right after Sean, like, the beginning of the episode, after Sean was deaded and okay, you know, moved from the island. It, like, episode opens. That was like our first big emotional moment. People are crying. Sincere has that amazing line where he was like, dude, your, your kids got a bunch of aunties and uncles. Wait.
Chris
Oh, yeah.
Dan
I was like, that was awesome. So I was like, that was the first app for me. I think that was like the end of episode five, maybe, where I was like, damn, dude, I love these people. I'm, I'm in it with them. I am fully. I am, I am in Love Island. I'm in the villa. And, like, the next episode ends and everyone is, like, so emotional still. And then Corbin runs up to Kenzie and he's like, yo, you know what's cool? We a couple now. I get to sleep in your bed. And like, you could see Kenzie was just kind of like, yo, dude, I'm still kind of like, that was a bummer to see se. Like, it was the to me, I was like, there is no reading the energy going on right here.
Chris
Dude. This show is. I kind of forgot this because I've only ever seen once and it was a UK and in during COVID But this show is ruthless with, with like, the ripping apart and like, the voting, you know, and like, making people choose at the last minute. It's. It's gnarly, dude.
Dan
It is gnarly, but I, I respect it. Again, I am too soft emotionally for this show, but watching it is incredible. The as we will get to the last recoupling.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
Making people going down and, like, sit next to each other for a moment. I'm like, oh, my God.
Chris
Okay.
Dan
All right. And I understand. Sean, I'm not sure if you're privy to this, but I believe it was only one ever season. The first season of Love island uk, they were allowed to just booze. And I'm like, I'm pretty sure if you go back and watch season one of UK Love island, they're like, left and right.
Sean
Yeah.
Dan
Because they're all just absolutely polluted.
Sean
Yeah.
Dan
And now I'm pretty sure they only do, like, champagne and wine. And I'm pretty sure I've heard everyone is, like, on a limit of two Per day. Like, they're like, you cannot. Well, I kind of get it. No, because like that if you add. You add some significant booze to some of the emotions going on in the show. Yeah. To Mel. That's who I'm. That's who I'm alluding to. We might have something.
Chris
I do like how they can swear on this show, though. Hey, is that always the case? Because them just like, oh, yeah, F bombs. Makes it so much funnier.
Dan
Oh, it's amazing.
Sean
I can see why they need to have that rule there, though, because, like, eventually people get so drunk that they won't be able to consent to anything. You won't be able to film the show because it'll be. Oh, yeah, yeah. So it's like you need people to be sober enough that they, you know, can consent to everything that's happening and who they're getting with and everything else. Because otherwise.
Dan
Yeah, you can't. You can't be letting these people booze too hard.
Chris
Sean, I wanted to ask you about this dude, because you always had this in heated rivalry. The soundtrack slaps in this show.
Sean
The soundtrack does slap in this show, which is great. I was. I've been watching a lot of it on two times speed. So I've been listening to kind of like sped up remixes, dude.
Chris
I'm like, I got Shazam up all ep, dude. I'm like, these are. It's bangers, dude.
Sean
It is.
Dan
And I can't believe how well they get the lyrics with certain.
Chris
It's insane. I'm like, God written for this specific. Like, it's crazy.
Dan
You know what else I've been really liking as. As, you know, watching a bunch of younger people. I'm learning a lot of new lingo.
Sean
Yes.
Chris
This is one of my topics again. What are you liking so far?
Dan
I really love the term move. Like when they're talking about the way people like flirt, interact, and they're like, yeah, like I'm trying to feel out like how he moves and like how, you know, how she move. And I was like, oh, that's cool.
Chris
Yep. I like that one. It.
Dan
It'll never come up in my life, but I think it's cool.
Chris
No, dude, we. I remember stealing a ton of lingo from the previous Love Island. I watched. That one's great. They say messy a ton. Apparently that's in for like, you know, this is. The. Things are getting messy. That. That was messy.
Dan
I found. I found myself writing messy a couple times in my notes. I was like, you know, such. This part is Messy little violence started.
Sean
Messy, yeah, like in regards to like a situation. No, no, no trouble.
Dan
I, I, I think it's like, I think it's this generation. I think it's like a term that they've kind of.
Sean
I do keep forgetting that most people on the show are like 22, 23. Because yeah, they all, oh, they're young. Yeah, they're all very, very young. But obviously their amazing genetics meant that they finished puberty at the age of like 12 and have looked like full grown men and full grown women for their entire lives.
Dan
It's the Internet, man. These, these people, these, the, everyone on this show was fully on the Internet by like 11. And that's just that says made them. They didn't have a childhood, dude. All of their innocence was gone before they could talk.
Chris
I'm happy to see how, how strong as is going still. That's everything is this as. And you know, I felt like that was, I thought that term had gone away, but that's, that's all the way here. This was my favorite piece of slang, though. Trinity, as she did was one of her doing one of her interviews, talking about how Bryce is really growing on her. She said, bryce has got me showing all 32s. Did you hear that? I had to look it up. Do you know what that shot.
Dan
Wait, let me think about.
Chris
Yes, shot. You have 32 teeth. I was like, electric.
Sean
That's some serial killer shit. That's horrendous.
Dan
What?
Sean
Yeah, 32 of my teeth minus the two removed for cavity reasons. That's like overcrowding as a dentist. Actually only 29 now. No, that's, that's, I don't want people listing off biological numbers.
Chris
Incredible, dude. Rice got me showing all 32s.
Dan
I was like, wow, anatomy for you.
Chris
But that is, yeah, that's actually what Kenzie does though, dad, to your point, like she, Kenzie giving you all 32s. That's good.
Dan
I love Kenzie so much.
Chris
Me too.
Dan
Like that. I, I, I. It's bewitching. It is bewitching.
Chris
We gotta hit some Mel and Sincere now, Dan. So okay to like tee it up. Here we go. All right.
Dan
Mel and Sincere. Like, to me, they were high on my list as like my favorite, favorite couple early. But then, yeah, we got to like EP4 or 5. We get the introduction, introduction of Gabe, the introduction of Corbin, and I was like, ooh. And her response to Bea calling her out, I was like, oh, didn't love that. And then it just kind of felt like she didn't Learn much, guys. Like, she didn't learn much. And then the slumber party episode, it was like just the Sincere Corbin back and forth makeout session after, like, everything had been said between her and Sincere about how they. How he was feeling. And let me. Hey, Sincere is not innocent. Because, like, in EP789, sincere is doing. Talk about gaslighting and talk about, like, also he's like, snitching on KC at one point. You gotta pull up, dog.
Chris
That was cool.
Dan
It's like, Sincere's gotta pull up. He was nosediving for, like, the last few episodes, but again, he had a lot going on. But Mel felt like she was playing with. With my guy's heart a little bit too much and not taking responsibility. But then she has a talk and she kind of, like, was taking responsibility. I was like, okay, here we go. But then there was that back and forth makeout session. Then Caleb shows up, and she was doing the, like, the jumping out, being way too excited thing. Not letting. Like, everyone was like, this man was made in a lab for Kenzie and she's like, cutting everyone's view off again. And I was just like, this is. This is the drama. Like, this is the biggest drama of
Chris
the show for me, bro. There was this Sean. This was another one of my favorite gas lights where she was like, I didn't know it was Corbin. And when she was doing the back and forth kiss thing, and. And I was loving Bryce to Trinity. Like, Bryce kept being like, what the fuck is she talking about? First of all, one of them is 6, 4, 2, 40. The other one is 5, hundred and ten. And even if you didn't know it was Corbin, you knew it wasn't Sincere. You know what I mean? Like, you knew this was Sincere. And she kept being like, babe, I didn't know it was Corbin. I was like, that is not the point. And yes, you did. Yeah, that was fucking insane, dude. They were. They. They unraveled so fast.
Sean
I. Yeah, I like Sincere. Also, while we're talking about Melanie and Sincere, how are you setting your child up for life calling them sincere? They're going to be scrutinized over every sarcastic comment that they'll ever make in their life.
Chris
The most common joke ever.
Sean
Yeah, the.
Dan
You know what's tough is the nickname Sin. I actually, like, like, people started calling him Sin in the show, and I was like, oh, that's pretty dope. But like, yeah, Sincere is a tough top. I mean, it's actually, when you think about it, it's a very beautiful Name. But you are right, you are setting them up for so many.
Sean
Yeah.
Dan
Jokes.
Sean
The. And also I think Melanie, I think Melanie and Cynthia probably made the most attractive couple, which is saying a lot because all the couples are ridiculously attractive.
Dan
Completely agree.
Sean
But Melanie, I found out just today, used to be a plus size model.
Chris
No way.
Sean
Yeah. Melanie from Love island used to be a plus size model and I guess went through an incredible weight transformation which you would never suspect given the fact that she's clearly like, I would. Maybe I'm totally wrong in this reading, but you'd imagine that someone who goes through the discipline of going, all right, this is something about myself that I would like to change and then goes through that much effort to change would come out with kind of maybe a bit more of a robust personality. But I think the way Melanie comes across in the show might be the most fragile. Perhaps, perhaps like the, A little bit of a troublemaker in some ways. Maybe I'm wrong in that, but it's just kind of one of those things where you'd imagine, given the life experience that she might, might have with success as a plus size model, wanting to change that then entering into this show, I would have thought that she'd be a little bit more grounded in the same way that Sean was. Given the fact that, you know, as a police officer, you're going to be dealing with a lot of people who are having worse, far worse, worse days than you're having. That kind of puts things into perspective a lot more. I don't know where I'm going with this. Just a little bit of a. I
Chris
can't believe that doesn't come up, Sean. Like I, I, that feels like a thing that would have been said in the intro at least, or certainly.
Dan
Well, you know what's interesting? Well, first of all, the model element of it makes perfect sense because Mel is stunning.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
But I, I wonder if there was some of that in that great conversation she had with Bea where she was like, dude, you're a Olympian. Like I, she was like, I, I'm, I look up to you. I'm so envious of you because I feel like I could never do any of that stuff and be. I was like, what are you talking about? Absolutely, you could. But maybe it was that, like, maybe there was a weight struggle thing that she felt like she couldn't be an either way crazy. That's, that's awesome information and it does, it is cool.
Sean
Something I think consider similarly, you know, it's interesting we bring up Bea as well also. San Diego. So shout out for San Diego, where I live for a long time, but,
Dan
yeah, that's one of the best haircuts ever by an Asian man that you never saw again.
Sean
Yes, Yes. I need to go back to that. To that gentleman. I forgot that I told you guys that.
Dan
Okay, now we're going to jump into, like, the last couple of episodes, and then we'll get into our awards, the big things that stuck out for me. Okay, my first top moment. And I'm gonna do a little bit of a nod here, because this is one of my favorite couples. I. I'm starting to realize after the slumber party when Zach and Kada had a chat, and Zach was, like, seeing the way that you were, like, excited to make out with Caleb, and he was like, your, like, legs were wrapped around him. Kind of, like, upset me because I could feel exactly like, feeling her. Keda was so mature, guys. Her response, like, she was like, I hear all of your emotions. I totally feel that they. And in that moment, I was like, these two are super strong. Like, he was being vulnerable with her, and she was like, hey, like, that's so fair. I was playing the game. I got too into it. And that, like, I didn't consider how much that would make you feel. Then, guys, the other side of that. The next morning, I feel like Zach went to bed and got insecure about how vulnerable he was and woke up the next morning and was like, hey. So, like, I feel like I've, you know, I said I was kind of closed off, and, like, I didn't mean that. I shouldn't be that way. I can't put all my eggs in one basket. So, like, you know, I'm going to talk to some other people. And I was like, no.
Chris
Like, what are you.
Dan
Like, you guys are great. What are you doing? So, like, I think he went and talked to Soul, and then immediately, as a response, Kada was like, well, I'm gonna go talk to Caleb or something. And I was just like, no, like, what's happening to you, too?
Chris
It was terrible, dude. That's. That's how quick it goes. Like, you just see someone talking and. And it's spiral. Like, how often did that happen to Mel and Sincere? She'd literally just see him talking. Oh, dude, nightmare. You know, it's actually hilarious. I was so pissed at the editors. It Sincere is talking to Sol, and Mel's just talking to, like, Anaya or something, and she's like, look, he's talking to her up there. And it cuts to Sincere and He goes, oh, my God, Sol, this is actually the craziest story. This is the best story of all time with my cousins. So we had two pitbulls, and he stands up and he's like, doing his story. And then they cut away from the story. And I was like, what was the story, dude?
Dan
I wanted to know, did we not
Chris
get what happened to the pit bulls? Sit through 11 hours of love island and not get the, quote, greatest story of all time from Sincere? That was fucking bullshit, dude.
Dan
Crazy, man.
Chris
Crazy.
Dan
And this is going to transition into something. Chris, I know you wanted to talk about another. I. I'll say. I'll call this, like, an emotional moment. I have felt like Trinity and Bryce have been a weird couple for a long time because it was like they were kind of coupled up, then they got split up, then they got coupled back up. And for the whole time, I was like, I don't know if Trinity is, like, feeling Bryce. And then we get that conversation where she was like, hey, I want you to be more affectionate with me. I was like, whoa. Like, that kind of. I. I thought she wasn't really feeling him. And, like, all of a sudden, now she's showing all this emotion. And I was like, okay, interesting. But then, dude, that leads into, for me, the most shocking moment of the show so far. Bryce grabbing Zach and being like, yo, dude, I'm not really sure where I stand with Trinity. And I just wanted to tell you I am going to pull Kada for a check. She's like my number two. The strongest couple in this show is Zach and Bryce.
Chris
Yeah. If you notice, I love the romance so much. Little moments, like.
Dan
Like, Sean, I don't know if you've noticed this, but, like, there are little moments in just, like, quick edits, like, every morning, Zach and Bryce jump in bed together, like, they are boys. And then I think, like, Casey said it at one point, like, after Bryce grabs Kada and they go for a chat, Zach and Bright, or Casey are talking. Casey was like that, like, that's your best friend in the house, dude. Like, what is he doing? That. That absolutely floored me. Couldn't believe it.
Chris
Dude, I. I want your take. Sean, too, because, Dan, I loved Bryce right away. I didn't love Zach as much at first. I totally have come around on Zach and love him. Their friendship is amazing. And I really like Bryce and Trinity, like, the way they have me too. Like, the embers slowly going and. And I was so appreciative of all of that. And I also can understand his fear of going, if you don't, I'm worried. Trinity doesn't like me very much, so I need to figure it out. But I was like, dude, this is an all time fumble. I don't understand. Like, what. What is best case scenario here is Bryce. Ka goes, you're right. I secretly liked you the whole time. And then you. Then sheep breaks up with Zach and then you go, what's up, dude? How. How are you? Like, I was like, dude, what is the end game here in either scenario? What did you think about that, Sean?
Sean
I haven't an opinion, unfortunately,
Chris
because it's too. Your brain. Your brain is in a pretzel.
Sean
I. I'm trying to think about this moment, and there's. My brain's trying to like, just sort through, like 11 hours that I've just binged through it. And I, I, yeah, that's all.
Chris
I don't have anything so uncomfortable to watch. Like, even when he first talked to Zach, Dan and Zach started laughing and he was like, oh, you're being serious. Yeah.
Dan
Yes. When Zach was like, oh, you're being serious. I. Because like, I. That. That was an appropriate response from Zach especially. I was like, dude, go all the way back.
Chris
This was when. When Kada showed up, she took Bryce and Zach to Paradise Cove and they all slept in one bed together. And then she spooned Zach and Bryce goes like, let your boy get in there. And she was like, no. I was like, dude, that was like, I would have gone home then. That was episode two. I would have gone home.
Dan
Agree.
Chris
And then you went back in for a second bludgeoning, dude.
Dan
It's like the. The journey Bryce has been on has been pretty tough. And that was one of the tough moments. And then when Trinity was like, I want you to be more affectionate, I was like, here we go. We're coming around here. And then he was like, I'm gonna go try to talk to Kada again. And I was like, bryce, you have finally been given an open door. What is happening here? The only thing I'll say is he
Chris
said to Kada, trinity's my number one. Like, he said out loud to her in the chat. He was like, trinity's my number one. I just. You're my number two.
Dan
So I wanted to talk.
Chris
So it's not like he was like, can we make out?
Sean
You know?
Chris
He was like, but it was. It was crazy. Move, dude.
Dan
Before we get into our awards, I wanted to rip through some laugh out loud moments for you guys.
Chris
Great.
Dan
My number one. I died with the emphasis on the Soul Ties room, when Gabe. When Gabe and Soul went to Soul Ties, it was like Soul made a joke. She was like, oh, we're going to Soul Ties. And I was like, so what? And then I think it was like, Anaya and someone saw them and they're like, they're going to. It was Trinity. I think they were like, they're going to Soul Ties.
Chris
What?
Dan
The Soul Ties is meant to be, like, real serious. And I was like, what is happening right now?
Chris
I wonder if that's like, we missed, like, previous seasons thing or something, because I had the same correction.
Dan
Next one was Melanie and I, we kind of touched on this. Melanie claiming to Sincere that she didn't know the difference between Corbin and Sincere was, like, potentially the rudest lie I have ever heard in my life. And I was like, the lack of intelligence that you think this man has. Slash, everyone in the house is crazy. Crazy.
Chris
Trinity had to cover Bryce's mouth. He was yelling that so loud. He was like, He's 6 4. She was like, okay, okay, dude.
Dan
And, like, he's correct. I was like, that was insane. When Zach pulled Jen, it was Jen that he pulled for a chat when Zach pulled Jen and they started talking about T. Swift and One Direction. And Jen said, zach looks like Zayn.
Chris
And Zach goes, oh, yes, it's his idol. Dude.
Dan
I was like, dude, yeah, this is awesome. That was a great moment. Okay. And then I have, like, two more. Oh, hold on. Oh, no, that wasn't that bad. Okay, this one.
Chris
Oh, yeah.
Dan
Okay, this is my last one. Did you guys notice? I think it was the second to last episode as episode eight was ending. It shows the, like, night vision of all of them going to bed. And it shows a shot of Kenzie and Corbin, like, spooning asleep. Well, seemingly asleep. And Kenzie's, like, eyes are open, mouth open with, like, her fingers in her mouth, like, biting on her own things and, like, move. Like she's, like, moving around. And I was like, something is happening here. And then, like, I think the beginning of the next episode, when they wake up, like, she. Someone's like, how are you in, Corbin? She was like, ah, it's like. It's kind of like, nice being in bed with him. And I'm like, because what is happening in that bed? Like, that was. That was one of the friskier moments for me. And I was like, oh, my goodness, dude.
Chris
I wonder that, because there's. There's. What's that show? What's the other Netflix show where it's like, you can't even kiss. You get in trouble. Too hot to handle.
Dan
Too hot to handle.
Chris
Dudes, like, jerk off in the shower and it costs them 500 grand on that show. Yeah, there's no penalty on this show. Like, surely something is happening. Are they just pent up with these genetics the whole time, Sean. No way.
Sean
Yeah, There's a lot of funny moments on this show, all right. But the one that just is constantly stuck in my head is really early on when I think, was it Mackenzie, I think was meeting who's like, the first contestant in. Was it Gabe, maybe?
Dan
No, no, no, no.
Chris
Walking in.
Dan
Yeah, it was like the two women
Sean
and they're talking about, oh, dude, Sean, Astrology funny. And she goes. She's like, oh, I'm a Gemini moon, so I cry a lot at night.
Chris
That's. I think it was Anaya because they're both from Georgia.
Dan
That's.
Sean
It was Anaya.
Dan
Yeah, yeah.
Chris
And I remember them going like, she's like, I'm from Georgia, and she's like, I'm from Georgia. And then they both go, what is happening right now?
Sean
Yeah, that was. That was a funny one.
Chris
There was one jokes of Kenzie in bed for me where it was the day. So, dude, keep in mind, Kenzie goes, I am in a couple with Corbin. Caleb shows up. She goes to chat with Caleb off challenge and makes out with him. She comes back to Corbin and goes, hey, to be upfront and honest with you, I just made out with Caleb. And Corbin goes, okay, thank you for telling me that. Then Corbin has Mel come up to him, I'm pretty sure, and go, hey, can we have a chat? And he goes, sure. And then he 100% asks for a kiss, which Mel says no. Kenzie finds out that Corbin almost kissed Mel either, even though she has just kissed someone outside of her couple. And like, like loses it and is so pissed at Corbin. And that whole day, she's like, it completely 180. I don't give a. Here comes the wall. I don't care about you. And then that night, Dan in the night vision, she's making out with him in bed. And I was like, that is so jokes.
Dan
Like, I'm telling you, dude, It's. This show is called Makeout Island. It's. It's like the whole. It's. It's incredible how much making out is going on. Okay, let's wrap things up here and get into our awards, guys. I want to start with best friend, and I am going to start because I feel so passionate about this and this is what I was referencing earlier, where, Chris, you were like, all of these people are horned up people.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
My best friend is Anaya. Oh, Anaya. Anaya is the best person on this show, and she is so wonderful, lovely, genuine, and just, like, true and honest to herself. And the best example of that was the slumber party, when every girl is going up, making out with every single dude. And I get it. They're playing the game, dude. She literally went up, like, touched everyone, felt everyone, until she found Casey, and she was like, and here we go. Handcuff. I'm not touching any of you guys, because this is my guy here in that moment. Because, like, that's what I thought was gonna happen in that challenge. I was like, are they gonna, like, smell them, touch them, be like this? No, not. Everyone was just like, oh, no, I'm just gonna get paint all over you, make out with you. And Anaya was like, nope, I'm gonna find Casey, then I'm gonna make out with him, and then I'm gonna handcuff myself. And I was like, anaya, ride or die. And every conversation she has with Casey, she's just so real and awesome. And she's also, you can notice, the best friend to every girl in the house.
Sean
Yeah.
Dan
Like, she's the person that everyone comes to, and I'm just like, roses for Anaya, dude.
Chris
She rocks, dude. I will say something. I'm gonna say about that later, but that was the most adorable moment in the nine episodes I saw. I totally agree. That was awesome. Okay, I'll go next. My best friend until the last episode. I was gonna say Bryce. I love Bryce, but that was such a fucking swing to go for your boys, girl, that I, I, I, I have forgiven him. And he was going to climb the ranks again, but he had to be punished in this moment because I was like, yeah, that was insane.
Dan
Crazy.
Chris
So mind Dan, I put Keda because she's a New Hampshire girl. People forget that when she. Dude, that was also gold. When she told the girl she was from New Hampshire, and they were like, where is that? Like, Kenzie was like, I have literally no idea where New Hampshire is. I was like, that's awesome. So good.
Sean
As an immigrant, I was shocked to learn that there are Americans who don't know where New Hampshire is.
Chris
Yeah. Like, what, dude?
Dan
You know, I. It's insane, right? Like, there's nowhere in Ireland where someone could say they're from, and you would be like this. I have no fucking clue where that is. Right?
Sean
Not.
Dan
Not the.
Sean
Maybe it's like a small town. But not like the size. If they're like, oh, small town, they'll be like, oh, it's in like, you know, Tipperary. Be like, oh, okay. But if someone's like states, States, like the size of most countries, states are
Dan
just too significant too. When we're young in school, there is such an emphasis on fucking maps and cartography and where every.
Sean
But it wasn't even like, I don't know where that is. It was like, what is that? I've never heard.
Dan
Yeah, I've never heard of New Hampshire,
Chris
but it's like, oh, no.
Dan
Crazy.
Chris
So, yeah, New Hampshire girl, she's been super mature, Dan, to your point. And, but also really fun. Like, she's, she's not like, I'll get to that couple later. But yeah, she's just been, she's been awesome. A huge fan.
Dan
Okay. Sean best friend.
Sean
I think my, my. I think Anaya is probably my number one. But since you already said that, I'll probably go with Sean.
Chris
No, no.
Sean
Because he's gone now.
Dan
Yeah.
Chris
I love this dude. Get. Pour one out for Sean.
Sean
Yeah, I, I think, I think Sean deserved a lot more. I think that this world, this, this world wasn't meant for Sean, unfortunately.
Dan
Sean probably should not have come on this show. I, I, I do.
Sean
Sean probably shouldn't have come on the show, which I feel sad saying because he deserves more than the show. The. Yeah. I don't know. I'm still yet to see any hockey in this, this TV series as well, so.
Chris
Which we could use, we could use some.
Sean
I'm waiting for something to come up. Hockey related.
Chris
Pounce on that, can you?
Sean
Yeah. And your next challenge.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
Yeah, Sean. Now kick us off with villain. Who do you think is the biggest pot stir in the show?
Sean
Yeah, I think, I think it might be Melanie.
Chris
I knew you were gonna say that.
Sean
I think it might.
Dan
That's, that's mine too. So I'll just piggyback with you. I just, I'm gonna use one of their terms. I, the way Mel moves is, Is messy double term.
Sean
Is messy double term.
Dan
It's like Mel is just like. Yeah. She was always getting too horned up with like new guys, bombshells. And then she's like, it was just crazy how she was like, talent sincere. Like the second she felt in jeopardy when she would then go to sincere and be like this, I'm all in on you. And I was just like, yeah, trust you. I don't trust you.
Sean
Yeah, I feel like, yeah, it's unfortunate because I Think physically, Melanie might be the most attractive of the women for me, but definitely would, like, cut your penis off and throw it out of a moving car kind of energy coming from her from time to time, so. And again, it's like, these aren't real people in that, like, the. The personalities you're seeing have been engineered by this show. It's not how they actually are. So I feel bad calling anyone a villain, because if I was on the show, who knows how I would be portrayed? It's kind of outside your control, but I think in the lore of Love Island, I think Melanie's like my current villain.
Chris
Yeah, again, it's villain.
Dan
It's villain.
Chris
Any eagles, it's villain energy is always going to be a villain in something.
Dan
Yeah, it's villain energy. None of them are villains. We love all these people. Yeah, but for the energy. Yeah.
Chris
For me, I went, Gabe, just because. Yeah, he is such a shit stir with, like, dude, this is actually one of my favorite moments in the whole nine things when it was one of those moments with the boys off to the side. And, like, it's. It was. It was like seven or eight or something. Like, peak, like, new bombshells here. Everyone's tweaking. Zach and Bryce are fighting, you know, And Gabe goes, It's like, all the boys, it's like, it's. Zach's there, Bryce is there someone else. And Gabe. And he goes. He's like, I. I actually made out with. With the Bombshells. And they go, oh. Because he's with Bea. So they go, oh, which one? And he goes, both. And they. The boys went, eight. They're like, oh, God. I was like, yes, dude, you. If the Love island needs that dude, you need that guy who is here to be like, I'm gonna get mine, and I don't give a fuck. And that's what he's doing. It's awesome.
Dan
Okay, and now.
Chris
Oh, quote of the week. Let me hit you with the quote.
Dan
Oh, yeah, give us. Give us quote of the week.
Chris
You guys will have this next time. So the daylight savings, fucking all time. That was so good. That's incredible.
Dan
I can't believe. That's not one.
Chris
Corbin. The. Here. Here are the rundown for this. For this session. Trinity is having a chat with Corbin, and she goes, what are you looking for? And Corbin goes, have a family. And just the.
Sean
There.
Chris
I'm trying to have a family. And I was like, well, I know.
Dan
I noticed that part too. I laughed out loud. I was like, why?
Chris
What.
Dan
What was that?
Chris
He was just like that, I don't know.
Dan
I have a family. I was like, why are you so mad about it? What the hell?
Chris
This one from Mel was all time. This is actually like an incredible chirp. I was. This was amazing. So Sincere's been kissing Soul a million times and she's like, stop. Or like, tell me you like her. And he's like, no, you're my number one. And then he kept going to kiss her. So then she's with the girls and they're like, did he kiss her again? She's like, she kissed her two more times. And they go, are you kidding me? And she goes, sincere's Christopher Columbus exploring. That's already been explored. And I was like, wow, what an incredible comment.
Dan
That's really good.
Chris
Not only like the reference, but the, the historical accuracy of like this land has been discovered. Idiot. And like, since he was like, I got to explore. I gotta explore what all time hall of fame quote from Mel. And then my last. That really killed me was this is the very end, dude, when like the whole new recoupling's happening and like everyone is born. Yeah, right. It cuts to Trinity. Did anyone remember what you said? Because I know you guys just watched this. Did you remember what, what she said?
Dan
No, I don't.
Chris
She goes, it cuts to her and she's crying so hard and Bryce has his arm around her and she goes, I'm boohoo crying in this.
Dan
Trinity is a 12 out of 10, dude. Like it's everything she says, everything she does. She's so awesome.
Chris
That was amazing. Oh, I'm using that, dude. So good quote of the week.
Dan
It's so good, man. I love it. All right, I'm gonna go. We'll go quick on these. My top two couples. And this will change constantly now. Right now, my top two couples are Zach and Keda. I just, I love Zach. I actually, I feel like good about Zach and Keda. And then Casey and Anaya. I just think, I think Casey and Anaya needed a quick little hiccup. I think they had it. I think they handled it very well. And I. And I'm just really loving those two.
Chris
I'm going number one. Casey and Anaya, I think they're gonna win the show because. Oh, okay. Dude, they. Everything you said, like that paint thing was so good. They're just so even keel. This is what happened in the show where they rock. No one is like the mo. They're not the most talked about, but they're just here and there's never an issue. And at the end. The fans vote for them to win because they're like. They've just been chill the whole time. Casey and I won number two. Bryce and Trinity. I still ride for them. They are my, like, little engine that could. They just. I don't even know if they like each other, but I. My love for them is enough to keep them sustained until they do love each other. That's how I feel.
Dan
I get that.
Sean
Are Casey and Anaya currently still together?
Dan
Oh, yeah.
Chris
Yeah. And they're like, untouched, dude. Like no one. They don't even get talked about.
Dan
Sean is clearly, like, really struggling with names and faces.
Sean
Really?
Chris
My.
Sean
Yeah, I'm. My brain is melted. My favorite couple, probably. I mean, you were saying Casey and Bryce, they got a bromance going on. I feel like that could be a sleeper thing that happens.
Dan
Yeah. Zach and Bryce was like the best bro.
Sean
Zach and Bryce was it. Was that the.
Chris
Yeah.
Sean
I need to get like a chart going. I'm like googling. You did search. I'm gonna bases now.
Dan
I'm gonna print you out a chart. Yeah.
Sean
This would make my life a lot easier. Agree that Casey and Anaya, I think if they're still together currently, then yeah, I think they're the most like, normal, down to earth, grounded, most stable. Like you said, when they did the. The like blind. The paint thing or whatever, it was like it was during the paint thing, wasn't it?
Chris
Yeah, yeah. When she was like, yeah, I'm going for my man. And that's it.
Sean
I feel I was. People are going to think I'm high
Dan
in the comments that I was actually going to mention. The people are going to be like, Sean has been hit by a flashback
Sean
second couple. Bryce. Bryce and Trinity might work, but Bryce is moving. Moving messy as well, I think a little bit. So I. I think they might be the most. What could end up being very entertaining. But I also like Trinity a lot, so I hope that. That she doesn't come out of this badly.
Dan
Yeah, I know. So, yeah, that. That's. Those are solid. That'll go into again. This is fearful. Weakest couples. I actually have Bryce and Trinity in my bottom. I do love them and I love the little engine that could comment Chris. But I do fear for them because I. They need one big moment that's like. I feel like Bryce is so unsure of how she feels about him and it's making him be hesitant to be like this, Hey, I dig you. And I need them to have like, her being like, be more affectionate felt to me like her Being like, hey, dude, I'm in this. Like, I want, but, like, they're just misreading.
Chris
Yeah.
Dan
And I fear the misreading. And then I'm going to cheat a little bit here because I just had to. I had Sincere and Mel. Like, they were just. I thought they were just a calamity from. From, like, episode three. So I. I, again, I'm cheating because they're not a couple anymore. But, like, I. I had to just give them a shout out of, like, that couple was never fair enough.
Chris
Dude. What? What a request by Trinity, by the way. May we all be so lucky for Trinity to go like this. Hey, can you just make out with me more? I'd be like, serious. Jesus Christ, Bryce.
Dan
Seriously.
Chris
What are we doing, dude? Hanging out with Zach. My two bottom couples. I'm going sincere and Soul. And I actually feel really bad for what happened to Seoul, but also, she can't be reacting that way. Like, those two absolute meltdowns when she got pied in the face, I was like, yo, this is like a. This is a dumb game. Like, it doesn't matter. And she did nothing wrong. She did nothing wrong. She's a bombshell. She came and did her thing, but I was like, heavy crying like this already, so I worry about them.
Dan
I want to fight you on that. I think Soul's great. And she got thrown into a. Again, messy, messy love triangle early. And, like, there was all this, like, drama with the girls going on that she probably felt like she was causing. She was like, all I did was show up and be a bombshell job.
Chris
She did nothing.
Dan
She did nothing wrong.
Chris
So, yeah, that one's maybe tough and. And sincere. Seems like he actually does like her, so we'll see. I might be wrong about that. And then my other one is Gabe and Jen. I did the two bombshells, I guess. But Jen. Jen is doing the thing that Zach was doing with Kenzie when he was like, I don't usually date blonde girls. In fact, I don't like them. And then it was like, this is obviously over. Like, Jen was like, I don't. I've never been with a Latino man. I like finance guys. I was like, that. You're with Gabe.
Dan
When she said.
Sean
So upset about that, though, it was like, I know later on, she's like, none of my boyfriends, they've all been different. They've all been like. So she didn't have a type. And then she was getting upset. That. So it was. That was a little bit silly.
Chris
So stupid, dude. So those are my week.
Sean
Yeah.
Dan
Weakest couples for you, Sean.
Sean
Skip me on the worst couples here. You're just gonna have to skip me on.
Dan
Okay.
Sean
I'm not gonna be able to give you a list.
Chris
Sean likes all the couples, and. And. And I can respect that because he's here for love.
Dan
Yeah, we're not. We're not gonna do bottom couples for Sean, and I respect that.
Chris
Okay.
Dan
We're through nine episodes of Love Island USA here. Unbelievable drama. Can't wait to watch the rest. What do we say? Are we gonna do another one, like, three episodes later? So we do.
Chris
We'll do. Basically, from what I understand, there's a recap episode that airs Saturday night, which is the day we're recording this. We. We're gonna drop these Sunday, and then you can watch this right as you launch into the new Sunday night, the new week. So we'll keep giving you these Sunday, which is, I think, like, four apps, because they do Monday, Tuesday. I think they're off Wednesday. Then they do Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays.
Dan
Perfect. All right, so, yeah, we'll see you next Sunday. It's gonna be crazy drama. I cannot wait. And, God, we'll see who's left standing.

The hosts agree that Love Island USA Season 8 might have seemed slow to start but quickly became addictive. While some couples unravel, others quietly build real bonds (or at least stay out of messiness). The most genuine connect, drama simmers (Melanie is “moving messy,” Gabe is kissing everyone), and the bromances run deep.
