A
Wake everybody up. I didn't turn down too low. All right, welcome to Everything Guns, episode 74.
B
I'm your host, Jody, and on the other mic is David.
A
Hello.
B
All right, here's some in the news to start off with as we normally do. And this is a little bit different than what we've had in the past. So everybody hang on. It's going to be an interesting show.
A
And just to preface the show, we're not making fun of disabled people.
B
There's a way you gotta preface it with that. Well, all right. First story is a disclaimer.
A
That's a disclaimer.
B
We're not gonna start with that story.
A
I know, but there's a few.
B
Yeah, there's a couple. We're gonna start with the secret Service agent negligence negligent discharged discharge at a. He was in the Philadelphia airport playing around. I don't know how he did it.
A
Did you? I never saw why he was messing around with this.
B
He didn't say he was at the. He was American Airlines ticket counter and for some reason was playing with his gun and accidentally shoots himself in the leg. It didn't say if it was a P320 or not, so I'm not sure if it was.
A
If it was, they'd have said.
B
Oh yeah, I'm sure they would have.
A
Oh, Stager would add a video on.
B
Oh, you're not kidding. But yeah. Good thing Dr. Jill Biden was there in case he needed medical attention. According to some. Some people on the left now she was a. She's not a doctor and she's got the. You know, she's a doctor. She's not a medical doctor. Oh, well, yeah, but. Shot himself in the leg. Good job on his part. Well trained people there. Next story. This might be the one you were hinting toward.
A
We getting right into this one. Right. Oh man. Yeah.
B
Let's go do some other stuff first.
A
Do it.
B
Let's get in. Hey. Well, I know we'll do this story first. You got a Michigan man cleared and I self defense case. But he was charged with carrying in sensitive place. So he was at a sports.
A
Caring penis carry.
B
Yeah, he was in a sports arena. I know that's illegal. Got attacked in the restroom by several people. Ended up drawing his firearm and. And using it for his self protection. They did not charge him with the shooting because they said it was self defense. But they did charge him with carrying in a sports arena, which is illegal in Michigan.
A
Why charge him with anything?
B
Exactly.
A
He defended himself. Why charge him?
B
Yep.
A
There's no reason that benefits nobody.
B
So he got a 500 fine, six month licensing suspension, and they seized his firearm.
A
Oh, he ain't getting that back.
B
No, Never.
A
They won't give it back.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
So that's why they did it legally.
B
Was able to defend some bull crap, this thing. If he'd have followed the law.
A
He got beat up. He probably killed. Killed.
B
Could have been killed.
A
Yeah. But it.
B
Since it was over.
A
You know why? Because there's not enough. Not enough security there.
B
Yeah, apparently not. Not at all. But. So I thought that was an interesting little.
A
That's some bull crap.
B
Yeah, I agree. You got a Tampa man accidentally shoots and kills a friend of his. The firearm was being handled when it discharged. Unintentionally, no charges. No charges filed on this one.
A
Unintentionally?
B
Yeah, that's what it says.
A
Okay.
B
Yeah. Florida man accidentally shot his friend. And this one. Oh, this is the one I was telling you about before we get to the. Which one?
A
This ain't the unintentional one. Is that all you had on? That is.
B
Yeah, that's all.
A
That's it.
B
They didn't say.
A
Well, why do you say it was handling.
B
I'm doing some negligent. Negligent discharges today and unintentional shootings.
A
Well, maybe you should have started off with.
B
Yeah, well, that's some of the news. Why did you not get that from me? Well, unintentional shooting.
A
I do now.
B
That was out of Tampa. So this one is an interesting little case out of Daytona. Oh, no, no, wait. That's my cr. That's my quadruple amputee. We'll come back to him.
A
We'll get him a minute.
B
This is. Oh, this is also out of Florida, man. A lot of stuff out of Florida. Good grief. So this. A Florida man is accused of accidentally shooting his friend in the face. So what's interesting about.
A
See, I wouldn't be charged with accidental shooting, of shooting you in the face
B
to do it.
A
Anyway, go ahead. We. After you read your story, I think we need to do more training.
B
Oh, I agree. These guys.
A
Yeah, they're training.
B
So they were conducting drills to prepare for responding to a dangerous situation. And this guy is 25 years old, last name Marky Perez. He was arrested two weeks after the. After the call.
A
Did he kill the guy?
B
No, I don't think the guy. I don't think the guy died. Just got shot the jaw.
A
Shot in the face. Yeah.
B
So Perez told the deputies he and his pal routinely conducted drills to practice with each other. The importance of being vigilant of their surroundings, especially while armed with a firearm, according to the arrest affidavit.
A
Man, I can see like jumping out of behind bushes and crap.
B
The document read both on firearms and they would have drills where one would try to get, try and get the jump on the other as a form of training.
A
I love this, man. This is, this is back in the Pink Panther days, man. Him and his enemy sidekick would constantly jump out and try to fight each other. Yeah, this is awesome. We don't do enough of this.
B
No, we need to do more of this.
A
Yeah, we need to going to start
B
coming over to your house unannounced and
A
we got to do something. Trying to get the jump on you. Well, that's, that's keep you vigilant for sure.
B
These drills are usually performed with unloaded firearms or using cap style ammunition. That is non functional. That is a non functional round.
A
You know, I'm scared to drive out to the land if you're out there without letting you know because I figure you're going to shoot at somebody.
B
Oh, I'm shooting at somebody. Marky Perez said he reacted when he saw the victim walk out of the kitchen holding something he thought could have been a kitchen knife or a baton. According to the rest.
A
Well, he didn't recognize his buddy.
B
He allegedly thought they were still practicing. So he stood up from the couch, pulled out his gun and pointed it at his friend. Before the firearm went off, the 25 year old allegedly told cops he might have accidentally let off to safety then pulled the trigger.
A
I bet that's what he did.
B
Shot the guy in the face.
A
And he's not even going for center mass. He's going for a headshot.
B
Shot him in the face.
A
Hey, hey.
B
I give them credit for training though.
A
Yeah, that's some bad training.
B
Here's a comment. The pair was practicing how to be vigilant of their surroundings, especially while armed with a firearm, but quickly learned they were the only threat they faced.
A
That's a fact. Yeah. They create the dangerous situations that they're trying to train for. I mean, I'm not sure how vigilant you really got to be if you got two buddies hang around the house and one comes walking out of the kitchen. I mean, don't you know he's there? Don't you think he knew he was
B
there, but he's coming out like he's going to attack you?
A
Yeah, I got it. I got.
B
He had to respond.
A
Yeah, he responded. That's so bad.
B
Shot him in the face.
A
All right, that's, that's good stuff.
B
All right, for my next story, this is a, this is a good one.
A
This, this goes back with a disclaimer. Yeah, we're not making fun of a disabled person.
B
No. And I've got to use a force case involving a guy in a wheelchair.
A
So we'll. Yeah, we're not going to make fun of him either.
B
No, no, he was, he was in the right of that one. This guy maybe not so much in the right or left. So you got. This was just in the, in the news here just recently. You got a quadruple amputee who is.
A
No legs, no arms.
B
We get what?
A
Quadruple amputee.
B
What else would that mean?
A
I'm just spelling that. What could I guess.
B
And not only is it quadruple amputee, he's a professional cornhole player. He.
A
No.
B
Are you laughing at that? He's the guy that throws them. Yeah, I got the guy that flies through there.
A
Yeah, I got it.
B
He's been charged with first and second degree murder in Maryland. I might have to read some of this.
A
I mean, I was just in Maryland.
B
Yeah, well, was you around?
A
No, I wasn't there. I wasn't. One of the guys in the vehicle.
B
He was, he was. He's been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting of 27 year old Bradrick Michael Wells. And from Charleston.
A
As you get into this see, this guy has overcome a lot.
B
Yeah, he was. I think he was either porno player.
A
I've seen videos of him shooting guns, shooting bows.
B
He's definitely can shoot a gun.
A
Yeah, I mean, I've seen all kinds of stuff. This guy, no arms, no legs, he's overcome a lot.
B
Yeah. The incident occurred around March 2, so not too long ago, around 10:25pm when he and the victim allegedly were in an argument inside a vehicle.
A
Witnesses that he was driving.
B
He was driving. No, by the way, no, I want to be in that conversation of these guys. Hey, let's go somewhere. Hey, who's gonna drive?
A
Nobody can see what you're doing, man. Goodness gracious. We can name this. We can name this. With no arm, no legs.
B
Oh my gosh.
A
He was.
B
So they get in an argument. A witness from the back seat reported that Weber, who's the quadruple amputee, put a gun and, and shot the front seat passenger.
A
How's he carrying that gun, I wonder?
B
I don't know how he pulled the gun.
A
That's what I'm wondering. But he doesn't want the little nubs you're not kidding. But he's able to pull the gun, get to clear it. I was clear everything. Get to the trigger before dude can stop him. Well, dude didn't think. There's no way this is happening. He's already drove us here. There's no way he's about to pull a gun on me.
B
Well, he shot the dude, and then he. And then he tried to get the guy in the back seat to help him remove the body.
A
Yeah, well, yeah, he needs help.
B
And it says they refused. So there's multiple people in the back seats, maybe two people in the back seat.
A
One.
B
One passenger. And him driving.
A
You think with everything else he could do, he could move a body?
B
Well, I think he. He eventually does.
A
Yeah. He overcomes. He overcome that like everything else.
B
Yeah. Yeah, because they refused. So Weber drove off with Wills still in the car. About two hours later, Wells's body was discovered in a yard in Charlotte Hall. So he got him out. Yeah, approximately 15 miles.
A
You think they're kicking at him?
B
I think he's nubing him out his own.
A
His back kicking at him, pushing him out. You got him?
B
Hey, good.
A
Good for him.
B
Getting him out of the car. Not good for him over an argument.
A
I bet it was. I wonder what that argument was about. Can you imagine? Let's not.
B
Let's not imagine that. Well, I know.
A
I know. Nobody would give you my hand to
B
get the guy out of the car.
A
Hey, man, can y' all give me a hand? How about two?
B
Weber. He was later located. Disclaimer, Virginia. So he was. He was later found in Virginia at a hospital seeking treatment for a medical issue. And that's where he was arrested.
A
I don't know what, man. There you go. He's struggling, ain't he?
B
Yeah, he was. He was.
A
Another medical issue.
B
Wedding. Extradition to Maryland to face charges including first degree murder, second degree murder and related offenses.
A
No, he gonna. Why they going to. He going to try to go with self defense. I don't think he's got a leg. Stand on. I let you up for that.
B
I gave you that one.
A
I give you that one.
B
Hey, I'm wondering if he could. He could use the. The second amendment for this. The right to bear arms.
A
Oh, my word. We're not making fun of a disabled person. He committed murder.
B
Yeah, he did.
A
He was in the wrong. If we. If we were breaking this one down. He was in the wrong.
B
Listen, you got two guys getting an argument. If they get into. Did he. You think he could have used the case? Well, if they get into a fight. He had no chance, so he had to use his firearm. From.
A
That's what I'd be doing.
B
From a. You. From. Yeah. I think he probably shouldn't try to get those other guys to help him dump the body.
A
Yeah, that's gonna hurt him.
B
In his defense, he probably should have used the defense of. I was afraid for my life because here I am, quadruple amputee and this guy was getting.
A
Yeah, he's pretty capable.
B
Yeah.
A
I mean he's driving. He got videos all over him doing all kinds of stuff.
B
Yeah. I mean, he's a professional cornhole player in the American cornhole league, which I didn't know they had. Gaining recognition for his skill and determination. I give him credit. I give him that.
A
He's determined.
B
He is determined.
A
That guy made some kind of comment about his. His disability.
B
You think?
A
Oh, had to. What else gonna make him that man? I don't know.
B
I don't know what makes him. Something made him mad and Madden.
A
They driving it, man. Can you hit that gas a little harder?
B
I like that he had his car set up.
A
I don't know.
B
That's just interesting. I don't think this was a good use of force.
A
No, it wasn't. No. We probably ought to move on. We probably said enough on that.
B
I think he's got some issues.
A
He's gonna have a problem. Problem in the court.
B
Yeah. Yeah. That's really all the news I had cuz you complained so much about news last time, so I didn't put a lot of stuff in the news.
A
My wife told me not to do this story. She said don't make a disabled person. She was worried about what. What prison life is going to be for this guy. It ain't going to be good. They g. Never mind. Never mind. All right. What you got there? I'm stopping, man. I'm stopping.
B
I know what you're laughing about. It's terrible.
A
It's awful. He killed a guy.
B
He killed a guy. He's gonna spend. Rest his life in prison most likely. Wonder how they handcuffed him.
A
Yeah. All right, let's go to the next story.
B
That's all stories I have.
A
Let's look at some. Talk about some gear.
B
There we go.
A
Oh, I'm glad your dog comes in, makes all the noise.
B
Yeah. All right.
A
You were talking about.
B
Okay, let me start off with.
A
I gotta get my stuff up that.
B
That 40s and W. PCC that I. That I had purchased. And I did take it out and shot it last weekend. The weekend before last because we were out of town last weekend. Shot good. Not a big fan of the blade stock that it's on. Since it is set up as a pistol, I might. I'm thinking I'm gonna SBR this thing and do a form one so I can convert this over to an SCBR and put one of the Zulu stocks on it. But it for overall it shot really well. I zeroed it fairly easily using that lp. Lp.
A
Lpvo.
B
Yeah. I did change that out now to a red dot that I'm on zero this coming weekend. But the only problem I have with it is each time the final round on each. On the mag would jam into the barrel and basically push the. Push the bullet back.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
B
Every time on the last.
A
Last no matter where it was in the. No matter if you had 10 rounds loaded or. Or 20.
B
Yeah. There's always that last round. It's not getting far enough up the.
A
I looked that. See if anybody else having that problem.
B
I have not. But I did notice that this, this PCC setup doesn't have a feed ramp on the barrel. So it's similar. I have a 9 millimeter PCC that also doesn't have a feed ramp, but I have a 22 LR AR style rifle that does. And your nine millimeter that you're going to talk about today has a feed ramp. So I don't know if it's. If we need. If I need to add a feed ramp to it. I did add some more to it. I got a couple new mags I'm gonna try out this weekend. Some 31.
A
If it keeps doing it, I wouldn't email the company and then maybe go over that and see. See what I want to see if
B
I see if it works itself out before I. Before I move. Move this direction. But I am going to SBR it though. But I got to get this taken care of before I spr because it's too difficult. If I do need to send it back or something. I'm trying to send an SBR back's a lot more difficult. Yeah, I want to do that pistol. Yeah. So I'm gonna get this taken care of before. But what's cool is the E4. It's all E form. Now I can do the form one on a E form. I already got my account set up through the atf. I can do that form through there. I just got to do the fingerprints and stuff and send that.
A
That's crazy.
B
Now zero doesn't cost me anything to get the tax stamp. So it's a zero dollar tax. I wish people would quit saying the is a no tax stamp anymore. You still have to get the tax stamp right.
A
It just doesn't cost you.
B
Yeah I heard that on the radio today from one of the gun podcasts I was listening to today. They talking about this was from Silencer Co. The president from Silencer Co or one of the Silencer Shop. Silencer Shop.
A
Yeah I listened to that.
B
Yeah. Talking about you don't have that tax stamp anymore.
A
Yeah you do.
B
You just don't have to pay for it.
A
Right.
B
We'll do another another review on it on the next episode to see how this thing is.
A
Yeah it's continuing on so going be interesting.
B
Yeah right now it not real real happy with it with it with it doing it in the last round AM was too expensive to ruin one round every mag.
A
Yeah that's not good.
B
Went to learn to stop shooting before I get to that last bullet.
A
Right.
B
Yeah.
A
Well I got the I just bought the Smith and Wesson response 9 millimeter carbine.
B
It's a nice looking gun.
A
So yeah I like it. All black 16 and a half inch length barrel come with two 22 round magazines. Hadn't got to shoot it yet.
B
Got a comes a lot more than that because yeah the grip on it was nice.
A
Oh it's got the well it's got that like your Smith and Wesson pistol their MMP series grip on it.
B
I like it.
A
It's got good texture.
B
Yeah.
A
Oh crap. I meant that now it's on the M lock rail with a picatinny on
B
top And I bought before you get to the the optic it also it comes equipped with the mag well that works with all your MMP mags.
A
Right?
B
Well, your MMP mags. Yeah but it comes with an additional mag well that you can put on there. That'll work with Glock mags.
A
Yeah you can change out and go with.
B
That's pretty deep.
A
Yep. Yeah so it's nice classical stock or not classical but adjustable. Adjustable.
B
Yeah.
A
So I went ahead I don't have any iron sights on it yet. I'm going to do that too But I bought a about a six hour Romeo. What is that by the Romeo? You're looking right at it. I bet they don't have it on here. Open the box. Shut up. It's a 5x the Romeo 5x gen 2 and it's so the audit the
B
dot automatically comes on goes off like
A
two minutes later for no movement. So it's motion detected shake wake. Yeah pretty much Motion, motion wake and then it'll go back off after a couple minutes. So I already had a Romeo MSR on my other rifle and I really like the, the Sig optics and it's decently priced. It's only like 150 bucks.
B
Not bad. The Cabela's? Yeah. Yeah.
A
And it's really nice optic. I like the optics. The one on my AR is held up. Hadn't had any issues with it so I don't expect to have issues with this one. I'll haven't got to shoot it yet. We'll get to hopefully this weekend I'll go shoot that some try the optic and get some iron sights put on it and do like a good full review of it next time.
B
What kind of irons are you putting? Offset.
A
What? No, I think it'll. It should co align so I want to. I may pull some off that MMP22 that I got. I got some little pop up irons on it. I may pull it off of that and put it on this one. Cool.
B
You do? Yeah, it looks good. The rifle, when I, when I like the rifle and it had a nice feel to it. I'm looking forward to shooting that. So it's going to be hopefully get
A
shooted this weekend and then next episode we'll have a little bit more about it.
B
Cool. All right, you want to move on to some use of force stuff? Yeah.
A
All right, let's go.
B
This segment brought to you by Clear Creek Shooting. For all your firearm needs, check out clear creekshooting33.com.
A
That's good. When your dog gets the table. Yeah.
B
Knocking everything around she begins to fall asleep. Yeah, I did get a couple questions for a question for one of our listeners. So if you're still interested in that raffle, let me know. I would say, you know, shipping wise of a raffle can get a bit expensive but we can do it. I'll just have to send it to whatever FFO you want me to send it to. Alrighty. And I can. There's a. I had a couple vendors that could find it where he was having trouble finding it. So pretty neat there. And then we did have a. Another video we got. It's another email from Dave from Australia.
A
Oh yeah, thanks.
B
Thanks for that. He sent a little promo video for us that he put on YouTube. We'll put a link to that in the podcast notes.
A
No, we will.
B
Yeah we will. He's going to try to send us some promos and some videos especially once we get to some Australian gun laws and Things like that. So we might have some, some video of him or some audio of him during the podcast. That'd be pretty cool. So appreciate, Appreciate all the information he gives us. This first one and this happened.
A
Let me pull it up.
B
I remember when this happened, so I was surprised we hadn't talked about this case.
A
So this is the wheelchair one?
B
Yeah, this is the wheelchair one out of. Out of Portland.
A
Yeah. So the. The guy did the shooting just got convicted. Yeah, he.
B
Yeah. Well, I wasn't going to mention that. We're going to kind of break down the shooting and see what we. What we think. But yeah, he did. He did get convicted. Shooting a wheelchair bound man convicted of second degree assault. And he did a. He did a bit of talking.
A
I got it right here. So here. Prosecutors alleged the dispute this is stem stemmed from Tim's claim that Powell. Powell is the guy in the wheelchair.
B
Yeah.
A
Was pretending to be a military veteran because of Navy memorabilia on his wheelchair. The defendant approached the victim. The victim was gonna wheelchair who was in a wheelchair on the boardwalk near Starbucks. And he demanded the victim provide a divide identification to prove his military status.
B
Let's stop right there for a second.
A
What is it any of his business. I don't know.
B
To go ask another man for his id.
A
It is not.
B
Let's.
A
Let's calm down on the. I, I get.
B
I don't.
A
I get you don't like it, but
B
it ain't your business.
A
No, it's not.
B
The dude's in a wheelchair. Who cares what he had on his wheelchair? He demanded the victim provided invocation to profit provoke. Prove his military status. That's just so ridiculous to me. Even if he had the proof, I wouldn't show it to some other guy because he covered.
A
No, it's silly. It's a silly thing to get into an argument over. So now. Senior deputy prosecuting attorney Elaine Lee wrote in charging documents, as the victim was taking out his wallet, the defendant removed a military patch from the victim's belongings. This caused the victim to arm himself with a knife.
B
Well, yeah, if you're grabbing stuff from him, yeah. All right.
A
Court documents say that after taking a military patch from pills from Powell's wheelchair, Tim backed away, pulled out a firearm and shot Powell in the chest. Video of the incident showed Powell had pulled out a knife and was holding a BB gun in a holster. At the time, investigators said Tim continued demanding that Powell show military identification. This is why he got a bullet in his chest, by the way. Yeah. Video of the confrontation shows Tim opening his backpack Pulling out a gun and shooting. Piling chest from just feet away, actually shooting.
B
There's good video there. You can watch it.
A
After the shooting, the video showed Tim yelling, show me your id. Pull a gun on me. And he didn't put a gun on him, but whatever.
B
Well, yeah, that's what he says. Yeah, he's trying. He had that BB gun.
A
This, this goes on. Seattle police in car cameras recorded Tim speaking while he was being transported to police.
B
Before you get to that, though, it says here, video also showed Tim putting the handgun back in his bag, gesturing to bystanders and saying, it's all right, everybody.
A
Yeah, I guess I don't, I don't think it is. You just shot somebody in the chest.
B
Now you go ahead.
A
All right, he's in now. Now we got this guy that shot somebody in the chest in the back of a police.
B
Let's talk about it from a use of force standpoint. Begin with. So let's say he did perceive that he had the gun, that this was a gun. Do you, do you still say he.
A
No, he was, he initiated. But he also could get away.
B
Well, if the guy had a gun, it'd be difficult.
A
But I'm saying, would it be difficult to get away from a guy in a wheelchair?
B
Well, the dude had. If the guy in a wheelchair had a gun, it could be.
A
Would it be that difficult to move, to move a little to the right and get away from a guy in a wheelchair? Okay, I'm not, I'm not anything against the guy in a wheelchair, but you can get away from a guy in a wheelchair holding a gun. I agree. And that's, that's what I'm saying. He could have done something to, to get out of that situation.
B
I'm saying it's.
A
A guy actually was holding the gun. Now he's holding a knife and the gun was in his lap. So there's no imminent danger with a guy in a wheelchair holding knife. And you're, you're backed up 15ft away from him.
B
Plus, you can't use self defense as your defense if you're the instigator. He was the instigator. He initiated the conflict. The other guy, the guy in a wheelchair, he could. Been defending him, defending himself.
A
He already stole something from him.
B
Stole something. And. Yeah, yeah, so the guy pulled a knife to defend himself, and then this guy escalated it by pulling the gun and firing didn't.
A
So this guy goes on. He. This is, this is old Tim that says this dude was crazy. Tim says in the recording I didn't know if. If he was going to start firing indiscriminately. You know, he's like, you're going to. You're not going to outrun this. And pulled out a gun. Roger that, sir. One shot. That was it. I didn't dump a mag into him. I just, I just. One shot. And they said he was stable. I hope he stays stable. I hope he's all right. I told him I wish him a better life. Maybe you shouldn't have shot him.
B
Hey, maybe also in these situations, keep your mouth shut while you're in a police car.
A
Oh yeah, Tim also. Well, obviously it was because he got convicted. Tim also told police that hours earlier he had spoken during public comment in front of the Seattle City Council where he pitched installing paintball turrets in public to deter shootings. What the crap?
B
Don't even know what you do.
A
What the crap does that even mean? Wait a minute. He pitched in styling, I guess if you see somebody with a gun turrets in public to deter shootings, I don't
B
know what you do with that.
A
The systems are designed to enhance public safety by autonomously monitoring and mitigating potential threats in real time. Tim told the council, our mission is to prevent mass shootings and other violent incidents in public spaces by providing a rapid response solution that communicates with local law enforcement. This guy, he's calling the guy in a wheelchair. This guy's completely crazy. I don't know.
B
I don't know what you do with that.
A
This guy is nuts. Anyway, whether it goes on, whether it turned out to be a BB gun or not, Mr. Tim was entitled to act on appearances. And certainly there is no law or logic that Mr. Tim gives up right to self defense because this must be his lawyer.
B
Yeah, it is.
A
He still maintains that right to self defense.
B
But again, he instigated the whole issue. So he lost his innocence. You can't be. You've got to be the innocent person to use self defense.
A
Yeah. So Powell. Powell was actually testified against him. I didn't do anything to provoke this man. He had no business bothering me.
B
I agree.
A
Powell said he felt threatened and drew enough to defend himself. I felt violated. Powell. Powell testified I grabbed my knife just in case this guy was going to attack me because he took something from me. It's one thing to talk to me. It's another thing to take something from me. And then they ask and said, did you ever. Did you ever point it to him? Do well, ask. I didn't point it at him at all. Pal responded, I'M sure I didn't point at him and say I'm going to shoot you or what you're going or what are you doing? Back up. So it just goes up.
B
Well, the jury. The jury believe Powell and. Yeah. And convicted this guy.
A
Yeah. I mean it was a terrible use of force.
B
Yeah.
A
I don't know why you go start something, steal something from somebody. Well, we talk and then claim self defense.
B
If you're going to be carrying, you have the responsibility to avoid the conflict not created.
A
There's no reason to go in and get on this guy for whatever you think he's doing wrong. No, that's not your place.
B
It is not. We've got to avoid conflict at all, at all cost. And we're there to protect people, not to harm people. And it's just ridiculous to me that he. He caused the whole issue himself. He caused it been easily just to ignore the guy.
A
Go on.
B
And it's nothing to do with you. I don't know if this guy's former military or whatever.
A
I'll tell you one thing, he better hope on nubs ain't in prison with him. He gonna be mad.
B
That's what we should be calling that guy. But whatever.
A
Oh, I didn't remember his name.
B
Yeah, I don't have it now. Terrible use of force.
A
Bad use of force.
B
What just.
A
What else you got?
B
This next one is out of Oakland. So this is a pawn shop shooting. And I sent you the video of this. You can find this on the.
A
Oh yeah, this one's weird.
B
The active self protection website. YouTube. This is awful.
A
So you basically got a.
B
Two guys in a pawn shop. They're the owners. They were closing up.
A
They look weird looking shop, by the way.
B
It is a weird looking shop. I agree. Everything about this whole thing is weird.
A
Yeah. I'm. Yeah. It's almost like they're in a back room of a pawn shop.
B
Yeah. There's some background stuff going on.
A
There's something weird about this whole story.
B
So you got. They had these individuals that wanted to do a deal after hours. So they were closed up. There's a knock on the door. As you see the one owner get up, he makes sure he has his firearm on him. He's.
A
Yeah, he's ready. He's vigilant.
B
The other guy, I don't know what he was doing. He's kind of watching as he goes open the door. You got these five guys that come in, all wearing masks. Yeah. And it was just.
A
They walk in like it's nothing. These guys are Just going on about today as.
B
As not less than 30 seconds after they end, one of the guys in mass tackle the pawn shop owner. Yep. And then as these does that. Some of them have guns already out.
A
Yeah. Well, he pulls his gun.
B
He pulls his gun and they start this big gunfight. The pawn shop owners retreat back toward the back of the shop.
A
Yeah, the shop you got like a. Like a big tall dresser. Not dresser, but a cabinet.
B
Yeah.
A
Kind of in the middle of the room. Some chairs and couches in there. You got, you got these two. The two shop owners on one side of the cabinet and the five other guys on the other side. The door is locked so that these five guys try to get out but
B
they can't get out because the.
A
The two shop owners.
B
Yeah, they locked the doors.
A
They shooting like crazy.
B
Oh there's.
A
They just firing away.
B
Bullets going everywhere.
A
Yeah.
B
You got a couple of the guys on the. That were wearing masks that came in. Of the five that are already hit.
A
Yeah, apparently they got.
B
One is already. Looks like he's already passed away. Another one's bleeding out. That he got shot by his own buddy.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. He tried to shoot and he shoots his own guy.
B
The other shop owner apparently got some kind of AK looking firing through the cabinets. And these guys are high.
A
Yeah, they're fine rounds to the guys. They. At one point, at one point. This is awful. At one point, two of the guys, two of the guys that came in to rob them are pulling their dead friends on top of them to keep them getting hit with bullets.
B
Yeah.
A
They're hiding under their dead bed. Their dead friends. Bodies.
B
Yeah. Eventually the shop owners are on the play, on the phone with the police and police finally show up, but they can't get in because the shop owners locked the door. So they come around with a gun drawn holding the guy.
A
Yeah. One of the shop owners got hit in the arm because the other guys found another gun that was stationed, you know.
B
Yeah.
A
The shop owners had there. I guess they forgot they put it there but oh my God.
B
It was five or six minute gun bite.
A
Oh yeah. They just kept. Yeah. These guys couldn't get out. Well, yeah, I mean it goes long enough that they're hiding under dead bodies.
B
Yeah. Definitely pulling those guys on top of them to keep themselves from getting hit. It was. So let's talk about it. From. Definitely justifiable use of force. I mean we can, we can.
A
Situational awareness sucks.
B
Well, they were ready.
A
Well, they were ready.
B
You let these five guys walk in with mask on. How about.
A
Well, they're doing.
B
Quit doing deals.
A
There's got to be something else going on. There's got to be something else going on.
B
You don't know what they were pawning because they didn't bring anything with him in with them. But the guns, maybe they were.
A
I don't know. Something else going on.
B
Yeah, they were there and they.
A
Were they buying something else?
B
I don't know. It was an odd situation. I don't think the guys, the store owners weren't charged with anything.
A
That's crazy story. Crazy video. That's one of the craziest dang videos I've ever seen.
B
Yeah. I would highly recommend going to the active self protection YouTube channel and watching it.
A
Some good stuff on there.
B
Yeah, it's a, it's a good video to watch on.
A
Well, not, not on tagging or anything. It's just crazy. It's just. Oh, my gosh. I can't believe all these people did this.
B
Yeah, yeah. Good job on their part, though, to protect themselves. Yeah. Because the two owners thing was just a hurt arm.
A
Yeah. They could have done a lot of things differently to stay out of that situation. But, but yeah, they, they, they, they won that battle.
B
Yeah. But like I said, it lasted over five minutes.
A
It's a long video. They speed it up for the video
B
because it takes so long.
A
It just keeps going, man. They keep trying to get out. They keep getting shot at.
B
They just, they keep, they stop.
A
Did they. At one point, that guy, one of the guys, one of the shop owners rest his rifle on something. Yeah. To get better accuracy out of it. And it's like on a chair or something.
B
They're not too big from each other.
A
Yeah, it's like a naked gun Amazon where they shoot behind.
B
Then we got, we got references to the Pink Panther.
A
Yeah, it's all right.
B
So this next one is out of Argentina because you. Did you watch the YouTube channel? They, they typically have a lot of stuff outside the usa. So this one is. You've got a, A couple. A man and his wife are walking toward their car, this parked outside. I don't know if it was outside their home. It's in a little. Or a little shop. You can't really tell. It looks like it's kind of in an alley.
A
Right.
B
Or a little road. But as they're walking into their vehicle, you, the guy, you notice, he's, he's vigilant. He's looking around, watching what's going on. The wife just getting in the car.
A
He sees something that bothers him.
B
He sees A car that kind of got his suspicions up a little bit. So as they start approaching, he's already got his gun out before they even start getting out.
A
Yeah. Easing up on him. He sees it, he's ready.
B
So the car stops right behind their parked vehicle. And all of a sudden, people start
A
jumping out of the couple. Guys jump out, they're gonna carjack him. Yeah.
B
The first guy goes running around toward the driver, the passenger side. The second guy comes out with a firearm already raised.
A
Yep.
B
But it's toward the driver. But it's just the driver's of the car. Sees this. He already puts off.
A
Duty cop, too.
B
Yeah. He puts a shot on that guy. Puts him down pretty quick.
A
Yeah. He goes to the ground. Other guy takes off running.
B
Two more guys take off, run. And the car takes off in the opposite direction. He goes out into the street. Apparently he gets shot it. Because you see him duck.
A
Yeah.
B
Takes another shot down the road.
A
Yeah.
B
Hits that guy.
A
Yeah.
B
So he. He's got two guys down, one guy running off to his left. Car drove off.
A
And him and his wife are safe.
B
Yeah, he was.
A
He was very situationally aware. He was. He was not just getting in and going. He was. He was paying attention. He was ready.
B
Yeah. So we talk about this from your crack.
A
He was aware. Yeah. Readiness was great. Effectiveness was great. Yeah. Got this pistol, put. Put shots on target, stopped the threat,
B
removed the pistol from the guy. The first guy that was down got it out of the way so it couldn't be used again. So you did grab that. The only thing I would say is he went out in the road a little quick because he did get some shots toward him.
A
Right.
B
Luckily, they didn't hit him, but he was able to engage them effectively from there. But probably should have waited a little bit before he went out in the road to check that guy.
A
But legal and moral. Yeah. And if you go look at other options, there's not a lot he could have done. No, I don't think you can get in the vehicle. Because they'd have blocked him.
B
Yeah.
A
Then you'd been stuck in your vehicle. I think he did everything that he needed to do, and there was nothing else really, he could do.
B
Yeah. Yeah. If. Yeah, if he got in his vehicle, they would have been on him before he could have done anything. So he was vigilant and aware enough to wait because he saw this car.
A
Yeah.
B
And he didn't get into his vehicle.
A
Right. Now, I thought it was. I thought he did everything perfect and. And got out of a situation. It could have been a lot worse, I would say.
B
I think he looked like he was using a revolver. So maybe think about that. Because.
A
Because you're gonna be running out of bullets quick.
B
Yeah.
A
And he probably had what, six guys that were going to be on him.
B
Yeah. So maybe, maybe choice of firearm. I don't know what, what options they have in Argentina, but maybe one day we'll find out.
A
Yeah, well, why would we find out? Oh, we're gonna do different countries.
B
We're not going to argue and find out.
A
I'm just saying we're gonna do other stuff.
B
Oh, I got you. It starts with hey, that would be pretty quick.
A
Oh, there you go.
B
Yeah.
A
Hey, that might be right before Australia.
B
It will be before Australia.
A
Yeah.
B
But good job on his part. I highly recommend looking at some of those videos on that. On that website because if you're on that YouTube channel, I know we want
A
to go in alphabetical order. Then we got to do Albania.
B
Don't start naming off eight countries. Is that all you know? Is that it? Look like you're stumped there.
A
No, I got a lot more. I ain't doing it now. You don't tell me not to his name.
B
I just want one more, y'. All. I want. Because you got plenty of.
A
I just want one more country. I've been laughing, now I can't do it. I got a bunch more. Ain't one.
B
I got a map right in front of you.
A
Look at it. Oh, that's world map, isn't it?
B
You can't name one more.
A
I can't say anything on that map.
B
Oh my gosh. All right, whatever. All right, that's all I've got for you. Support stuff. You want to move on into some south Algeria. There you go. You found one.
A
Good job.
B
All right, South Carolina gun law. Before you jump into all. There's all the stuff ready to them. They are 17th in gun ownership with 49.4% of households having at least one firearm. And you can bypass the next check with a concealed weapons permit. So two good things there. I mean, they could have been a little bit better on, on. On the popular. I'm assuming some of their larger, more left leaning towns. Charles and some of these other towns are probably low on.
A
Yeah, I didn't look at preemption on that, by the way, but we can look at that. Let me just. So South Carolina allows constitutional carry.
B
Meaning. When did that go into effect?
A
20, 26.
B
Okay. That's why. Because I know when I was going to North Carolina for that match. Yeah, it Just avoided driving through South Carolina.
A
I was going to read that if you let me continue on. Meaning eligible adults can carry firearms openly or concealed without a permit with specific age and safety provisions. We'll get to that in a minute. As of 2026 South Carolina residents who are legally eligible to possess a firearm may carry openly, get a breath or concealed without a permit. Under constitutional carry laws established by Bill 3594 individuals must be at least 21 years old. Except, except for active duty military members or honorably discharged veterans. Permitless carry applies to both public spaces and vehicles, allowing firearms to be kept loaded and accessible in a vehicle without a concealed weapons permit.
B
You know that's, you know I'm, I'm glad that if you're military you can carry at 18, but it should apply to everybody, not just.
A
I agree with that. So while permits are no longer required for in state carry, South Carolina recognizes valid out of state concealed carry permits, maintaining reciprocity with states that have similar laws. Training is encouraged but not legally mandated for constitutional carry. It is is required to get a concealed carry license by the way.
B
But not the Constitution.
A
But not the Constitution.
B
Is there a benefit to having the concealed careless other than bypassing a next
A
check the reciprocity okay with other places.
B
Okay, so because yeah, I mean kind of similar to what we would do here. So could we constitutionally carry in South Carolina or do we have to have a permit to go to.
A
Pretty sure we could Constitution. Okay, we're where.
B
So the permit there didn't do any
A
good for them with other states. Not a husgon there. Okay, but then with other states that don't have constitutional carry.
B
I got you.
A
South Carolina. South Carolina law prohibits possession of machine guns, military firearms, sawed off shotguns, sawed off rifles, except under specific federal authorization, law enforcement or for display as rendered inoperable relics. Registration of these restricted firearms with the South Carolina Enforcement division is required. There is no state restrictions on assault weapons, large capacity magazines, personally made firearms or bump stocks. Background checks are not required for ammunition purchases though certain types of. Though certain types such as Teflon coated rounds are prohibited. All right, so we already talked about carrying the vehicle. Other key points. South Carolina maintains no state level firearm registry and no waiting periods for firearm purchases. The state follows a stand your ground doctrine allowing self defense without a duty to retreat. Individuals under 21 are generally restricted from carrying unless they meet military exceptions. There's no magazine limit, no red flag laws. Private firearm sales do not require an ffl. South Carolina has a Shall issue concealed carry permit system but also allows for permanent carry. The concealed carry permit application process includes a background check, firearm safety training and a fee. Permits are valid for five years and can be renewed. Non resident permits are also available. Even though permanentless carry is legal, some individuals may still choose to obtain a concealed carry permit in order to take advantage of reciprocity agreements with other states. What I said. In South Carolina, farms are generally prohibited. This is the only thing in a lot. In the following locations, even for those with a concealed carry permit. So it's your normal places. Schools, school property, courthouses, government buildings, polling places on election days, bars. Here's one. I don't like churches or other religious sanctuaries unless the church has given permission.
B
I don't need permission from our church to carry again.
A
That's what I'm saying. That's the only thing. I don't know why you distinguish that from other places. You should be. You can carry any weight. I don't like all these other places either, but I find that silly. So here's. That's, that's. That's South Carolina. Decent. I mean, pretty, pretty good state, it looks like.
B
Oh, you know, I didn't mention that because you talk about. Basically, they've got places where you can't carry. A federal judge upholds the Texas carry ban at bars, sporting events and racetracks. So they're doing the similar type thing and. Yeah. What we consider pro second states.
A
I know. Yeah. So here's who has reciprocity with or who they recognize. You ready for this? I'm ready. We go. Here we go.
B
You go. Name them all.
A
Yep. There's like 29 of them.
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
That'd be good. That'd be all right. You get through it.
B
Go ahead.
A
Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming.
B
You didn't mention Alabama.
A
I did not. We do not have reciprocity with South.
B
So maybe that's why I didn't hear. Maybe that was one of the reasons I didn't carry when I didn't go through South Carolina.
A
Yeah.
B
Because I always checked my routes and I couldn't carry in South Carolina, so I avoided it.
A
Yeah, well, we never talked about that.
B
Well, I was talking about it because of his constitutional care. But they don't. We don't have.
A
We do not. Yeah.
B
That's ridiculous.
A
Why would we not have reciprocity with training? We don't. Require training.
B
But neither does their constitutional carries.
A
No. But their permit does.
B
All right, that's substitute which.
A
Yeah, I don't know. I'm pretty sure we could go there and kill you now. Because constitutional care.
B
Yeah, I guess I get. I mean, can we. I assume we can.
A
Yeah, we can.
B
All right.
A
We're not lawyers, though, so if you get messed up over that. Yeah, my bad, my bad. If. Yeah, if that's not true. But I'm pretty sure you can. But don't. Hey, don't, don't, don't sign everything. Guns said we can. We can do this. We are not liars.
B
I can't imagine anybody with sight us. Hey, Angola, there's another. Another country.
A
Oh, there you go.
B
Yeah, I got a bunch of them.
A
Ah, that's South Carolina. Better than I thought it was going to be. Yeah, South Dakota comes up next. I've looked at South Dakota a little bit. My next. Real good South Dakota. Yeah. As we look into South Dakota, it's gone. We're moving right on through them.
B
We're getting pretty close to being done with all the states and then we'll move into some countries. So if you've got any particular country that you want us to hit first, shoot us a message. A
Why not Alaska?
B
I imagine it'd be expensive to send all.
A
Have you checked?
B
I'm sure it is. I can check, but I'm pretty sure if we got a lister in Alaska wants a shirt.
A
David, man, we can walk from here to Alaska.
B
David will pay for the shipping to Alaska. How about that?
A
No, I ain't paying shipping.
B
Well, you just said you would.
A
No, I did not.
B
I think you.
A
No, I ain't paying crap.
B
All right. You got anything else?
A
We only like 48 minutes into this.
B
That's all I got. You got anything? That's why I said, do you have anything else?
A
No, I don't have anything else.
B
That's.
A
I guess that's all.
B
All right. We are everything guns.
A
We're out. 48 minutes is about normal hey, calm down. Shut up.
